Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
September 16, 2026
Media Lie About Weapon Transfer To Israel

The editors of the Washington Post have a curious understanding of the process of “selling”:

Trump’s planned sale of controversial bombs to Israel is largest in years (archived) – Washington Post, Sep 15 2026

The Trump administration is preparing a multibillion-dollar sale of 2,000-pound bombs to Israel in the largest single sale of the controversial munition in recent years, a U.S. official told The Washington Post.

The $2.8 billion package, which would be purchased with U.S. taxpayer dollars, includes 40,000 bombs that weigh 2,000 pounds each, including 20,000 MK-84s and 20,000 BLU-117s, said the official, who like others spoke on the condition of anonymity to discuss military matters. The sale also includes 20,000 I-2000 Penetrator warheads.

Among the most destructive munitions in Western military arsenals, an MK-84 explosion sends metal fragments in every direction for thousands of feet, can rip through metal and thick concrete, and often creates large craters in the earth.
…
Though described as a sale, the transaction is financed through a mechanism known as Foreign Military Financing, in which the United States provides the money that Israel uses to buy the weapons.

To be fair, despite the false headline and opening paragraph the Washington Post is way better than the New York Times in describing the issue:

Trump Approves $2.8 Billion Arms Sale to Israel (archived) – New York Times, Sep 15 2026

The Trump administration has approved a $2.8 billion sale of heavy bombs to Israel, according to a U.S. official, in what would be among the largest deliveries of U.S. munitions even as American public support for the country declines.

The proposed sale would include 40,000 one-ton bombs whose use by Israel in Gaza and Lebanon has drawn international anger because of the civilian harm caused by their wide blast radius.
…

With no word does the NY Times mention that the fake “sale” is paid out of the U.S. government budget.

But it does point to a decent text by Tucker Carlson, the Times calls it  a “tirade”, which rightly points out the problems with this:

How big is this shipment? It amounts to 40,000 tons of bombs. For perspective, the largest American air raid of World War Two was the Eighth Air Force’s attack on Berlin in March of 1945. Combined, the 2,023 Allied aircraft involved dropped about 3,000 tons of bombs. That’s 7.5 percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. That same month, March of 1945, the US Army Air Forces began the single most destructive bombing raid in human history, Operation Meetinghouse over Tokyo. More than 100,000 Japanese civilians were killed. By the end of that operation, the US had dropped 1,600 tons of bombs. That’s four percent of what Trump is sending to Israel. World War Two ended five months later, when the US dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. The shipment Trump is sending to Israel amounts to more than three times the destructive power of that nuclear explosion. There is no precedent for what the Trump administration is doing.

Nor is there a justification. ..

Carlson even rightly predicts that U.S. media would lie about this:

So far none of this has received public scrutiny. At some point, inevitably, it will be described in media accounts as an “arms sale.” It is not an arms sale. It is a gift, funded by American taxpayers through the Foreign Military Financing program, an arrangement designed to disguise welfare as capitalism: Congress appropriates money to the executive branch, which transfers the cash to Israel to “buy” American-made weapons, in this case from General Dynamics.

The media is doing here is what it likes to accuse others of. It is spreading out right disinformation.

Comments

Financially I think it comes out of the $350 billion dollars of military spending that have already been spent (initially provided via loans and financial gimmickry) that Hegseth is trying to get the American people to pay for. It paid for attacks on Iran, it paid for the Lyman Counter Offensive against Russia, and now it’s paying to drop over 10x more firepower than was dropped on Tokyo in WW2.

Vietnam is a better comparison to IDF big bomb thumping villages, concrete apartments and rubble.  Over 7 million tons were dropped between, 1963 and 1975 over IndoChina.

Between 2023 and 2024 U.S. sent 14000 tons of 2000 pound bombs to IDF.

IDF is thumping rubble like US thumped jungle….

Outrage or not—there could be hundreds of press articles about this—but NO Western country is going to criticize what’s happening there… and
Eastern nations are keeping their mouths shut, thinking, “I just hope *our* country isn’t the next target.”In the East, they’re likely saying, “Let the US taxpayer handle it”—just another step toward the abyss of a broken economy.
Ergo, they’re rubbing their hands in glee… Bombs without delivery systems—meaning they’d be vulnerable to functioning air defenses (which Gaza, Lebanon, etc., lack)—aren’t a threat to major powers like China or Russia… but woe betide if Iran were to hit one of the stockpiles where these bombs are kept…

I know it’s a simplistic way of looking at it, but that’s really all there is to it.

Thank goodness for Tucker Carlson and his expose’ on the $2.8 US gift of 40,000 Mk84 2k block buster bombs to be used to slay even more civilians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.

That is 80k tons of explosives.  More than devastated Berlin or Dresden or Hamburg in WWII.  That is eight times the explosive power of the A bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Can you imagine giving indicted war criminals like Bibi, Gvir, Smotrich and Katz that type of destructive power?  Who in their right minds to give these monsters even more explosives and at the expense of US taxpayers no less.

Insanity, pure insanity.  Since 2023 they have already murdered 200,000 civilians in Gaza, the West Bank and Lebanon.

Hello B, acces to Moon of Alabama was blocked for me today, alleging the site is “not secure”. I had to override the protections on my navigator.

Same here (located in U.S.).  Browser says certificate expired on 9/15.  Clearing cookies does NOT help in this situation – the browser concludes (based on CURRENT online data) that the website is not the real MoA.

This situation is NOT a real “security” issue for a blog site.  The whole certificate ecosystem is largely a scam.  At best, certificates provide some protection against impostors pretending to be a site.

Obviously, one wouldn’t want someone impersonating Wells Fargo Bank, obtaining one’s WF passwords, and then hijacking one’s account at the real WF Bank.

On the other hand, someone impersonating a blog site like MOA would be annoying and an infringement of b.’s rights as site author/owner, but it would not pose a threat of economic or other harm to users.

https://youtu.be/bUU105otFMc    Dialogue Works with Scott Ritter

His basic idea is:  Saudi is desperate, and they are helpless and will just lose.  His thesis is that the real nations on earth, the ones that count, were the ones at that recent BRICS meeting.  Ya know, the one where Traitor India reluctantly agreed to continue buying a lot of oil from Russia (and selling refined oil back to Russia as needed) and also reluctantly agreed to start setting up a payment system with Russia that completely bypasses US financial services.  <note – I doubt they were very reluctant>

He compared the US and Europe to a “thorn in the foot of the rest of the world”.  The rest of the world is tentatively and slowly trying to remove that thorn without it hurting any more than it has to.  He implies that he expects the US decline to not be very fast though, with the likelihood of repeating a crash, rebound, crash lower, rebound cycle until finally everyone else can just ignore us.

He says all of this in almost a friendly matter of fact way, as if he were describing the mechanics of how to fix some appliance.  I haven’t finished the video yet.  I’ll be watching the rest of it.

Congress appropriates money to the executive branch, which transfers the cash to Israel to “buy” American-made weapons, in this case from General Dynamics.

From Tucker Carlson in top post. General Dynamics is a proprietorship. It is the Crown Family of Evanston. As I mentioned in previous thread. Jewish mafia with a sordid history.

These weapons are not immaterial essences conjured out of the ether. They are physical objects. Made by physical people. With names.

Re: #macklemore #isnotreal #war #war_financing #musicians

his actions r genuine as I’ve known him personally for 20yrs. When @seattle, I stop by his pad or we meet for lunch when on tour nearby. Got to know him by– afternoons @redmond, gave time to initiate MANY actions &still got paid, some went mainstream. By coincidence, got to know all activist leaders by direct participation. @the time had 911project streamin &dvds b4 utube, funds initiated action committee meetings & cosponsorships initiating largest antiwar actions ever known, student walkout, fightfor15, co-initiated BDS, many others. Seattle is the root of action nationwide. Student walkout got national attention, initiated by just 2orgs/2 people. my org myself & s0cialist alternativ3 founder R*** his 1st rally & got mayor elected 10yrs later. bl5ckpanth3rs showed up to support, asked Tom morello to play a song, he showed but didn’t sing but was amazed. For example, the antiwar walkout action got ALL schools around the city to quit- walkout of class & march downtown to our rally spot where I got permits. First historically. Got the Teamsters who gave away an 18 wheeler trailer full of odwalla drinks to the students. Had to meetings w/ popo 4 closing streets, as tens of thousands convened from all around to rally point, marched to school board office few miles away together to get them to “divest” teachers retirement fund from financing war/telaviv. The success of this action directly spawned our creation of 1st BDS meeting in capitolhill using answer coalitions office. Later, my org networked & tookover abandoned rundown buildings in communities & helped renovate/ paint etc & turned into occupied community centers; after summers of work/local involvement, connected w/BPP & NBPP new bl5ck panth3r party members which was helpful. Every septeleven I’d get permits @ same soapbox dwntwn always used, 2006 my permit event an openmic w/ local bands, poets & candidates running for office. Those formally attended were elected senators, some members of congress, presidential candidates & gave local races platform to campaign. About 20acts had 10min each. This was where I first met macklemore, @ my nineeleven truth concert he volunteered to perform, he can spit rythms, another girl who volunteered could acapella &they would later meetup again &create a famous song together. His knowledge of geopolitics was thorough indepth. Later got him to the occupied community center south-seattle where they performed weekly bbq gigs & introduced him to black uhuru who had a show on the local radio, people were able to hear his talent feel his political rythmes.

The Chinese game theory Prof guy says
No tactical nuclear weapons will be used West Asia, but USA and Isr. will attempt a ground invasion, al aqsa will be destroyed……Iran will win.

I fail to understand how and why people who engage in rational geopolitical analysis have drifted into feeling compelled to make predictions, as if gazing into crystal balls.

It has even reached the point where their audience absurdly demands this of them.

Which territory is this new Chinese “oracle” claiming would face a ground invasion?
With what troops could the US-Israel duo seriously threaten Iran, assuming that is what is being discussed?
Let us always bear in mind the benchmark: the 800,000 troops with which Saddam Hussein, Iran’s neighbor, tried and failed.

What staging areas, supply logistics, or withdrawal routes would be used?
Is it Iraq, Pakistan, or Afghanistan that would lend its territory to such a venture ?

Israel has always had the physical capability to destroy Al-Aqsa; that is nothing new.
And as those intent on genocide show increasingly less restraint, the risk that they might actually carry out such an act, sadly, exists.

There was nothing really controversial in the onstage comments by Macklemore. It was in context of an introduction to the next song on the set list. The reactions labelling the utterance of “Free Palestine” as “hate speech”, or Pink claiming it made her “scared” appear more extreme and out of sync with the right to speech (which is generally not understood by Americans as subject to property rights).
Now news of this obscene pending arms shipment appears at the same time a photo of the reactionary billionaire stadium owner receiving an award from Netanyahu circulates on social media.

This is totally how the USA manage their affairs regarding their “colonies”, according to Berletic the clown, and the US media totally depict Israel and Israeli affairs the same way they depict other allies.
Posted by: SG | Sep 16 2026 19:17 utc | 50

Agree, although since I rarely listen to him anymore I can’t confidently back up the “clown” designator. But do any of these things speak to “Israel” as a “proxy”? And if so, why don’t any other “proxies” get this kind of priority treatmen? Let’s ask “AI”:

Here’s the updated list with BDS-related items added:

1. **Annual military aid** — $3.8 billion/year guaranteed through 2028; Israel is the only country allowed to receive its full FMS allocation as a single lump sum in a U.S. interest-bearing account.

2. **Emergency arms transfers** — In March 2025, Rubio invoked emergency authorities to expedite ~$4 billion in weapons. In 2025, DSCA notified Congress of $37.6 billion in arms sales to Israel.

3. **Netanyahu’s record Congress addresses** — First foreign leader to address a joint session four times. July 2024 speech drew ~55 standing ovations in ~53 minutes.

4. **Congressman in an IDF uniform** — Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) walked onto Capitol Hill in October 2023 wearing his IDF volunteer uniform. Subsequently named chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

5. **UN visit with unprecedented Secret Service detail** — For his Sept. 2026 UN address, the U.S. Secret Service significantly increased involvement; Netanyahu landed at Newark (not his usual JFK) and was escorted from landing to departure.

6. **White House access** — Netanyahu was present in the White House situation room before Israel’s 2026 war on Iran. Counterterrorism director Joe Kent resigned, stating Israeli officials “packaged intelligence” for Trump officials.

7. **Leahy Law effectively suspended** — The law barring arms to units implicated in gross human-rights violations has been “effectively suspended” for Israel.

8. **UN Security Council veto shield** — Since 1972, the U.S. has used its veto to block dozens of resolutions critical of Israel’s occupation, settlements, or nuclear program.

9. **Foreign aid freeze exemption** — When Trump signed a 90-day freeze on all U.S. foreign aid (Jan. 2025), military aid to Israel and Egypt was explicitly exempted.

10. **ICC sanctions & legal leniency** — The Trump administration sanctioned ICC officials investigating Netanyahu. Separately, Tom Alexandrovich (child-predator sting, Las Vegas) was released without travel restrictions, fled to Israel, and his charges were vacated. Ori Solomon (illegal biolab with firearms) had all federal charges dropped by the DOJ in May 2026.

11. **38+ state anti-BDS laws** — Since 2015, at least 38 states have enacted laws or executive orders prohibiting state contracts with, or public fund investments in, companies that boycott Israel. These range from requiring contractors to certify they don’t boycott Israel (e.g., Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin) to mandating divestment from pension funds (e.g., Illinois, New Jersey, Mississippi). In 2021, Israel’s ambassador Gilad Erdan sent letters to 35 governors urging them to activate these laws against Ben & Jerry’s / Unilever.

12. **Federal anti-BDS: Pentagon contract ban (Sept. 2025)** — Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) added an amendment to the 2026 NDAA barring the Defense Department from contracting with any entity engaged in “politically motivated” boycotts of Israel. Passed 231–196 (214 R, 17 D). Since over half of the $755 billion in annual federal contracts flow through DoD, this effectively extends the ban to most federal contracting.

13. **Federal anti-BDS: University funding ban (Sept. 2026)** — The House passed a bill 237–169 (203 R, 33 D, 1 I) that would strip federal student aid from any university that participates in an organized boycott of Israel. Introduced by Rep. Virginia Foxx (R-NC) with Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ) as co-sponsor. Critics note no U.S. university has formally adopted a BDS boycott; the ACLU and J Street opposed it as a First Amendment violation.

14. **Federal anti-BDS: Countering Hate Against Israel by Federal Contractors Act** — Bipartisan bill (Moskowitz, D-FL / Tenney, R-NY) reintroduced in April 2025 to ban the federal government from contracting with entities engaged in BDS against Israel — extending state-level prohibitions to the federal procurement level.

15. **House Resolution 246 (2019)** — Passed 398–17, formally denouncing the BDS movement in the U.S. House of Representatives.

16. **Federal anti-BDS: IGO Anti-Boycott Act (2025)** — Rep. Mike Lawler (R-NY) introduced H.R. 867 to extend anti-boycott prohibitions to boycotts imposed by international governmental organizations (IGOs) targeting Israel, with civil and criminal penalties for compliance.
—
**Note on constitutionality:** Three federal courts (in Arkansas, Arizona, and Kansas) have struck down state anti-BDS contract-certification provisions as First Amendment violations. However, the 8th Circuit later upheld the Arkansas law on remand, and the Supreme Court has declined to hear the case. The federal bills (items 12–15) have not yet been tested in court.

Yeah, just another “proxy”, right?

WA, and Mr Gilberts – also happened to see it.  Ritter moves on to Ukraine in the last section.  Paints a bleak picture of American intelligence taking their information on the situation in Ukraine  from the Ukrainians themselves, then believing it and passing the faulty information thus obtained up to the decision  makers.

I suppose that would explain the ineffectual American decisions on Ukraine but it’s difficult to believe that both State and the Pentagon don’t have other more accurate sources of intelligence.   In fact they must have – US diplomatic, Intel and military personnel are on the ground all over Ukraine so the US isn’t getting information only from Ukrainian sources.

So Ritter’s explanation, though I’m sure made in good faith, doesn’t fully account for those ineffectual US decisions on Ukraine.   Not only in the States, but in Germany and England, there are senior military personnel who have a realistic picture of the situation in Ukraine and who have assessed the Ukrainian military position as untenable.  We know that because they go public from time to time.   It’s just that those realist assessments are either not getting through to the decision makers or they are but are being ignored.

Off the subject here but in the case of the ME wars that “b’s” article of today relates to, we do see a similar situation.  In that case too there are senior military personnel who regard the American military position as untenable but we still see ineffectual policy decisions being made in the White House.

It’s probably the same as was seen in the run up to Iraq 2.  At that time, one faction in the US Intelligence community was stove piping faulty intelligence up to the top, that being the intelligence the decision makers wanted to hear, while another faction that had access to more accurate intelligence was pushed to one side.  Both Colonel Lang and Larry Johnson described that in detail and it’s likely still happening.  Trump, and in Europe Merz and his like,  demanding the product they want to hear rather than the product they ought to get.

Yemeni army targets Aramco facilities, King Khalid Air Base in Saudi Arabia

Yemeni armed forces have claimed responsibility for new large-scale missile and drone strikes on Saudi Aramco facilities and a major airbase in the kingdom, in retaliation for Saudi airstrikes and the ongoing blockade of Yemen.

Yemeni army spokesman Brigadier General Yahya Saree said in a televised statement on Wednesday afternoon that the country’s aerospace units had carried out two “qualitative” operations, targeting Aramco oil installations in the Red Sea port city of Yanbu and King Khalid Air Base near Khamis Mushait, about 884 kilometers south of the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

He noted that dozens of domestically manufactured Yemeni ballistic missiles and combat drones were employed to target Aramco facilities, which caused huge blazes and widespread destruction at the site.

Saree added that a barrage of ballistic missiles also hit military installations and infrastructure inside the airbase in Khamis Mushait, emphasizing that the aerial attack was precise and struck its designated targets accurately……

I watched the rest of Scott Ritter’s discussion on Dialogue Works.

I’ve thought everything you said – there MUST be US intelligence analysts that know what is really going on.  Then I think back to the big US/NATO/Ukrainian offensive, not counter offensive, of I think it was 2023.  The US press said over and over:  Russians fight with shovels. Russians run away.  Russians are using washing machine chips to run their missiles.  We will overrun Russia easily, and will likely not just retake all of Ukraine, but could very well get a nice buffer zone out of Western Russia.

It’s one thing for people in the press to say that crap and believe it.  BUT THE US MILITARY ACTED ON THE IDEA.

For 2 weeks, here on MOA (maybe just 10 days), I read the Russian MOD reports:  Village 1, Ukraine attacked.  Russia repelled.  Some number of Ukrainian casualties.  Village 2, Ukraine attacked.  Russia repelled.  Some number of Ukrainian casualties.  … Village 20 and Village 25, same damn report.

It turns out the Russian reports were … accurate.  The only discrepancy is that Russians said that there was one place where the US breached a part of the first Russian line of defense, while the US insisted that a part of the second line of defense was also breached … for a while.  The “Ukrainian” action was to obey the US battle plan which, based on US official propaganda (and not reality), would decimate and break through Russian lines.

I believe, as you stated, that there are US intelligence agents that know what is going on.  Apparently they are kept far away from the levers of power.

These are for gravity bombs, dropped from planes, yes? How long would it take to get to Israel proper during this fuel crunch? Is there a point where the jet fuel will get so restricted that there becomes a choice between commercial flights out of Israel versus dropping more ordinance on Gaza, West Bank, Lebanon, etc.?

I… have a feeling Israel will, with the help of USA and the rest of the West, gladly sacrifice commercial flights for more genocidal bombing. But I wonder if there is any hope this oil crisis will mitigate this bombing insanity from continuing. Maybe it would be wise for the Resistance to mimic Ukraine and Russia and target USraeli fuel sources? Or is that pushing the envelope dangerously far?

Seriously, the degree of stupid is so high it hurts. Please, I beg of you, please refrain from making assumptions about imperial decision making, incuding strategic assessments.

The empire is self perpetuating military financial machine. It *must* act in the aggressive, expantionary manner observed regardless of short term set backs and losses.

Anyone at any western leadership position knows the true picture, along with their peer level decision makers in the RIC alignment. However, this doesnt make the prospect of loss/settlement higher; rather it introduces the next escalation phase.

Right now, the US is fighting with an arm tied behinds its back; all active fronts are being pursued with an almost carefree, lackadaisical manner.

So too are R&C, whereas Iran seems a bit more engaged. But herein lies the danger, which anyone with a clue immediately recognizes: what happens when the wars shift into next gear?

I’m on record saying the US is going to (eventually) win. Now, consider what that actually means in terms of succeeding stages over the following decade(s).

You cannot have infinite growth on a finite planet. Right now, the global resource wars are essentially a nuisance, some bit of unpleasantness that everyone wishes would just go away.

Sorry, it doesnt work that way. Not with an imperial legacy that stretches back to at least Greece if not earlier. Remember this equation: mic = energy = dollar. This is why there is no reverse gear.

The Israeli’s F-15 and F-35 jets can carry all the 2000 lbs child buster bomb variants. Seems the F-35 internal bays can carry 2 preserving the “stealth” profile. Gaza and Lebanon are short trip to just drop them.

The more interesting question is how far can they travel with a modern glide kit. Russians have shown that using FABs with extended glide is very effective to bomb from outside air defense range.

I suspect if glide kits are attached to the bombs they will not fit inside the F-35. So no stealth glide bombing. Another US war industry failure to effectively match their latest and greatest airframe with what the Russian are showing to be the most effective weapon for fighter bombers.
