ask George Z.

===============================

I know nothing about “Shem”, nor who descended from whom.

But as Arabs and Palestinians are just as “Semitic” as Jews, then yes, they’re victims of real anti-Semitism.

As I’ve written many, many times here, that term has become almost completely weaponized and distorted beyond recognition. I try to avoid using it for that reason.

Yes, there does exist some real anti-Semitism directed towards Jews, like occasional synagogue/temple bombings, or the attack at Bondi Beach. But those attacks are almost completely swamped by the ongoing genocide in Gaza/W. Bank/Lebanon/Syria against those Semites. So yes, I’d call that the real “anti-Semitism”.

Still think I’m a “hasbarist”?

Not going to answer that.

But look: even if I did absolutely NOTHING in that regard, how would that make me a “hasbarist”?

If that’s the case then there must be millions of “hasbarists” among us here in the U.S.

Since part of this thread has devolved into a discussion of “hasbara”, here’s an account of the real deal that seems relevant. From an article at The Cradle:

Israel’s intelligence community is closely associated with advanced technology, secretive agencies, and the rivalries that intensified after Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. Behind this apparatus, however, agent recruitment remains a patient human enterprise, built on vulnerability, access, and dependence on an Israeli handler.
In its early years, Israeli intelligence relied heavily on Jewish operatives for both routine and sensitive missions. As its reach expanded into hostile environments, more collection work was entrusted to recruited agents inside Arab and Palestinian societies, while Jewish operatives continued to provide logistical and operational support abroad.
Technological expansion later shifted the balance, with Israel investing heavily in cyber capabilities, signals intelligence, artificial intelligence (AI), and advanced surveillance.

@316 Woke American

All that appears certain is that various ballistic missiles were launched.

The rest is second hand reports, maybe true. Censorship is tight.

We are supposed to think that censorship does not exist in western world, and reality is that many prefer to think that events would be reported if they did occur.

The “Israeli” assassination of journalists and the western silence with regard, is just one clear example that a policy of censorship is in place at mainstream level.

That is not even counting the laws against reporting and resulting persecution that exists in various countries – their rules and not for others to question maybe, but still censorship is censorship, often leading to loss of credibility, as well as lack of public information and so its ability to verify and reason.

Most of the sources I quote are trained journalists, they make it their duty to verify and only post what is known. Where they rely on hearsay, they make that clear.

Unless anyone wants to chase around osint and social media, and sift through errors and speculation themselves, more information just isn’t available, or sooner.

Attempts to have IAEA refer Iran to security council over non-compliance underway:

“The U.S., Britain, France and Germany are preparing to seek an IAEA resolution next week referring Iran to the UN Security Council for the first time in 20 years, according to diplomats and a draft seen by Reuters.

The proposed resolution calls for the IAEA director general to send the measure and previous resolutions on Iran to the U.N. Security Council and General Assembly. It also urges Tehran to “urgently remedy its non-compliance” with its safeguards agreement and take the steps required for the agency to verify its nuclear declarations.

The draft has not yet been formally submitted and negotiations over its wording remain ongoing” Tabz

Tehran warns South Korea over involvement in Strait of Hormuz: Source

Iran would consider any South Korean involvement against Iran in the Strait of Hormuz as military participation in aggression, a senior Iranian political and security official warned on Friday.

In remarks to Al Mayadeen, the senior official cautioned South Korea not to “sacrifice its interests and reputation for the sake of aggressive US policies,” adding that Tehran hopes Seoul will not “sacrifice its interests and reputation for the sake of American policies that undermine security and stability.”

The official said that South Korea is aware that “the cause of insecurity in the Strait of Hormuz is US-Israeli aggression,” and urged South Korea not to “respond to American pressures and overlook the fact that aggression is the cause of insecurity in the strait.”……

It wouldn’t be another day in the United States without the government putting the interests of Israel ahead of American citizens. Despite seeming as if it has already exhausted every avenue at its disposal to submit to its masters in Tel Aviv, Congress managed to find another way to show the American people who is actually in charge of their country. Members of the United States House of Representatives leaving Washington, D.C., to head back to their respective districts for a work period running until September 13th, 2026, used their last legislative day on Capitol Hill to pass a piece of legislation that once again shows the American people where their government’s priorities truly lie.

BTW, and I’ll admit this is kinda meta, but I really don’t understand:
Since when is an “appeal to intelligence” considered some kind of fallacy?

Don’t we want to appeal to peoples’ intelligence, rather than to their ignorance, or prejudices, or whatever?

Color me puzzled.

BTW, the thing that triggered Tom to write that, I’m sure, is my non-backhanded compliment to him, which I’ll repeat:

When he’s not in his rageaholic mode (for whatever reason, and I’m not gonna try to psychologize him there), he’s a pretty astute guy with some intelligent things to say.

Sigh….It’s truly amazing how some people routinely fail to read for comprehension. Instead we have all these vibe readers at MoA who inject/insert their own preconceptions, prejudices or past trauma into the comments of others. This one of yours really doesn’t even merit a reply, but since this is an old thread and we have a bunch of angry wankers calling people names and insulting their intelligence, I’ll make an exception. Let’s break it down:

Tom: The hasbarists have some common strategies. One is straw man fallacies. Another is appeals to intelligence.

GtZ: Since when is an “appeal to intelligence” considered some kind of fallacy?

When did I say that appealing to my intelligence was a fallacy? I said that one strategy is straw-manning (a logical fallacy) and another strategy is appealing to another poster’s intelligence (never called that a fallacy) while simultaneously dropping stupid insults or calling names.

Does that help?

Posted by: Tom_Q_Collins | Sep 5 2026 0:10 utc | 342

The word “tactic” might have been a better choice over “strategy”. Regardless, yet another tactic (or strategy) is endlessly nit-picking irrelevant and conversational comments in order to hijack a thread or make it unreadable to third parties and lurkers. In addition to straw-manning, it’s often done with ‘pilpul’ or casuistry – or to be more precise, hair splitting, nit-picking and sophistry.

OK, one more go-round and then hopefully we can just drop this shit.

No, you didn’t call it a fallacy; that was an assumption on my part since you were casting aspersion on that thing.

So OK, let’s call it a strategy instead, fine with me.
Then I was guilty of using it as a strategy, appealing to your intelligence.

I went over to Godlike Prod., looked for that video but couldn’t find it (did find a thread on their forum where it was supposed to be posted).

So even not having seen it I’m going to guess fake.

Heh; reminds me of that awful “AI” slop photo showing a U.S. fighter jet downed in Iran. The picture was totally out of scale, with the plane about 5X as big as it would be with Lilliputian people gathered around it. Anyone else here remember that?

I give the Iranians enough credit to not have produced that slop themselves; must’ve been some fanboi somewhere.

@359 Woke American

Some channels specialise in damage assessment using satellite imagery (Fotros is one). There is a delay with that but it tends to uncover media lies.

Also official announcements of actions taken are generally reliable, but their effectiveness is left to question.

When there is major escalation, then reports are so many that censorship is abandoned. In some cases, like “Israel” , they will show the events for attention, but then downplay or censor the effects or damage as propaganda (inefectual etc.) , also because casualty figures are going to lead straight to comparisons with Gaza, which they do not want attention on.

Currently, it is “Iran is ineffective at targeting, US AD working, US casualties non existent, gcc safe to visit, strait open” etc. so censorship is reinforced.

That might change according to circumstance or what is wanted projected.

Obviously Iran has intelligence on what has occurred, and so censorship hardly denies that info to Iran, is mostly propaganda based.

Even with limited reporting, the policy and action position or stance is clear enough usually. Just have to try to avoid the disinfo that is sent out to replace verified reporting.

For Gaza or Lebanon or Yemen and other there are local reporters who provide a lot of smaller detail missed by regional, aggregators or mainstream. Not headline events, but which describe local realities well. Just a question of finding which are reliable.

That is my view on it all as far as censorship goes.

Been following the discussion here and on the open “Neither Iran or Ukraine” thread.  It’s like half the comments are by agents provacatour of one flavor or another.  Excuse my spelling, I got a D in French back in 1967.

The suppression of any criticism of Israel, no matter how mild by our MSM is kind of like holding a beach ball underwater for some time, and then keep pushing down on it some more.  Beach balls are notoriously slippery and hard to hang onto…..so this discussion slips someplace less regulated off the mainstream and goes flying up in the air, whacking the reader’s nose in the process….It finds an outlet someplace, and is often a blanket “blame da Joos for everything…”

Meanwhile those with a bad case of Schadenfreude or others getting their jollies on “Let’s you and Him fight” continue to stir the pot.  But to a much greater extent on these Iran threads…..seems to bring the crazies out of the woodwork.

One can readily see the steady decrease in cogent, on-topic comments here at moa as the increasing flood of comments blaming “Israel” and “Jews” (are exposed) for all empire actions take over (on) every thread.  Iran threads, Ukraine threads, Open threads, you name it, each one always gets flooded in the same way.  And that tendency is increasing. I read and here about asshole JD Vance saying that the US is not at war with Iran and then there is this from Iranintl

Schumer hits Trump over calling Iran war ‘small potatoes’

Senate Democratic leader Chuck Schumer criticized President Donald Trump for describing the war with Iran as “small potatoes.”
“Tell that to the families of the 18 troops we’ve lost, the hundreds of wounded servicemembers, and the Americans suffering every single day from record high prices,” Schumer wrote in a post on X.
“There’s nothing small about it,” he added.
Trump told reporters Friday that he viewed the confrontation with Iran as a “military conflict” and called it “small potatoes for us,” while describing US strikes as intermittent.

Just like the attempt to control the narrative inUkraine with the announcement by Ukraine of a four-day ceasefire starting on the 5th, Trump and Vance trying to normalize the pace of the US involvement in the Iran conflict will fail because Iran is now being assertive about the pace of the conflict just like Russia in Ukraine.

@ necromancer | Sep 5 2026 4:19 utc | 391 about what is happening in Yemen there is this summary from Iranintl

More than 120 killed as Iran-backed Houthis push toward Bab al-Mandab – AFP

More than 120 people were killed in Yemen after Iran-backed Houthi forces launched an offensive aimed at advancing toward the strategic Bab al-Mandab strait, AFP reported on Friday.
Fighting erupted Thursday after the Houthis launched a ground assault backed by rocket and drone attacks near coastal areas as they pushed toward Bab al-Mandab.
The death toll rose to 129, including 66 government fighters, at least 62 Houthi militants and one civilian, AFP reported, citing military and medical sources.
Military sources told AFP the Houthis were attempting to cut off the government-held port city of Mokha and seize elevated positions overlooking areas near Bab al-Mandab, from which they could threaten commercial shipping.
Bab al-Mandab has gained greater strategic importance amid disruptions to shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and continued Houthi attacks on vessels in the Red Sea.

To the use of the term “kike” – Obviously I was being transgressive and trollish. This is for a couple of reasons:

1) Our speech with respect to “Jews” or “Jewishness” is especially constrained now. It’s a career and livelihood killer to metaphorically cross what has increasingly become a moving and invisible “red line” or to touch the “third rail” – when not commenting anonymously. They will literally try to destroy you for saying anything remotely uncomfortable to (or about) “Israel” supporting Jews.  That makes it extra fun to toss the term around anonymously online.

2) The feigned insult/hurt is also hilarious because what is “Jewishness” or being a “Jew” anyway? Is it a religion, a race, both, one or the other depending on expediency and convenience? An informed take would be that it simply cannot be a race (presuming such a thing is even a real concept and I don’t think it is, but that’s a conversation for another time). There are Ethiopian Jews, Mizrahi Jews, Persian Jews and others. But the Ashkenazi variety originating from Eastern Europe who seem to dominate American cultural, political, and financial sectors despite being a small numerical minority, seem to be the only group amongst world Jewry who get to claim that it’s both a race and a religion, even when they’re secular or atheist. So saying “kike” can’t possibly be equated to saying “sp*ck” or “ch*nk” which are both undeniable “racist” and bigoted terms, aimed at a person or group of people simply for the color of their skin and their perceived difference or alleged (not actual) inferiority.

So, maybe someone could please inform us: what is “kike” anyway? How do you perceive it, and do you think that an Ethiopian, Persian or Mizrahi Jew would take offense or even know what it means? Is it uniquely American, perhaps being coined somewhere like New York City?

And let’s also go back to those *actually* *arguably* racist terms. There’s a power differential/dynamic. Black people, Asians, Hispanics, etc. have long been disenfranchised minorities in the US. Simply for the color of their skin or their perceived culture in the eyes of the white majority. American Jews have faced a far different set of circumstances. For the most part their disenfranchisement has been about petty shit like not being accepted as members of a country club or WASPy elite colleges and universities. They’ve never faced anything like true redlining, segregation, lynchings, systematic deportations, or being put in internment camps like the Japanese. And even if they’ve been discriminated against in one-off situations or by uniquely bigoted Goyim, as a whole they’ve been remarkably successful and welcomed into elite institutions and high society.

So maybe someone not so easily triggered or a person who isn’t one of the usual crowd that jumps in and types the word “Jew” as many times as possible without the word previously even being mentioned in a thread can explain their personal take on the term “kike” and why they find it so offensive or “racist” when in fact Jewishness is NOT a race.

Interesting a search didn’t turn it up. Here’s the “AI” version:

The 1973 book Sybil and its 1976 television adaptation popularized the case of Shirley Ardell Mason, a patient treated by Dr. Cornelia Wilbur who reportedly had 16 distinct personalities.  The story claimed these alters resulted from severe childhood abuse, leading to a massive surge in diagnoses of what was then called multiple personality disorder (now dissociative identity disorder).

However, subsequent investigations, notably by journalist Debbie Nathan in Sybil Exposed, revealed the case was largely fabricated. Dr. Wilbur used hypnosis and drugs like sodium pentothal to induce the personalities in a highly suggestible patient with undiagnosed pernicious anemia. Mason herself admitted in a 1958 letter that she was faking the condition to please her therapist, but the book and film had already cemented a controversial legacy in psychiatric history.

Basically it’s a term for a sock-puppeteer, particularly one who comments in a single forum simultaneously under multiple socks.

All I’m gonna say on this matter is this:

  • My take on what constitutes Jewishness, right or wrong and despite what others claim, is that of course it’s a religion, and of course it has nothing to do with “ethnicity” or “race” (after all, there do exist Ethiopian Jews). So that conceit, that Jewishness can somehow be traced back to one’s ancestral origins, should be put to rest. This would also take some of the steam out of the whole “Greater Israel” project; just because you wear funny little hats, wear 6-pointed stars and make Tourette’s-like bobbing motions in front of a certain wall doesn’t give you the right to other people’s lands.
  • So far as the use of “kike” and other slurs goes, it doesn’t bother me, personally. But the point is that it really bothers others, and that’s really all that matters. It’s the equivalent of calling someone a nigger (and not affectionately like black-to-black but as a slur). So that’s what my objection to its use here would be; doesn’t affect me personally (I’m far from a practicing Jew, grew up on ham sandwiches) but it does stink up the bar.Let your conscience be your guide, as they say.

Thanks for the honest answer. Some follow-up questions/comments:

1) Interesting, because the most hard-core orthodox Jews are the ones who oppose “Greater Israel” and even “Israel” itself the most. I have mad respect for those guys. They’re studiously ignored by the Zionist-adjacent American and British MSM, even though at actual protests – including inside “Israel” they’re among the most vocal and prominent.

2) Equivalent to “n*gger”?! Sorry man. You’re way the f*ck off here, or you’re semi-co-opting the real, material and often deadly connotations of the N word when used by white people in the US. Sorry, that simply doesn’t fly in any genuine discussion on the matter. There is absolutely no comparison precisely for the historical reasons I laid out in the post to which you’re replying. In fact that’s almost a perfect illustration of the ridiculousness of the issue. That Jewish people (of any “race”) even think that they get to equate the N word to “kike” in any meaningful way says a lot about the persecution mentality that Ashkenazi Jews in the west cultivate and weaponize.

*Cue up Cluck-N-Shove Her’s inevitable flailing insult-laden reply.

From journalist Yousef Fares (Telegram), per the French publication Le Monde:

The French newspaper “Le Monde” revealed the failure of the Israeli intelligence service “Mossad” in a project to overthrow the regime in Iran.
Le Monde newspaper reported that Israel was unable to take advantage of the joint war with the United States to overthrow the Islamic Republic of Iran.
According to this report, the Mossad’s plan to use Kurdish groups hostile to Iran and incite an internal uprising has failed, and the expected support from some Iranian political figures has not been achieved.

OK, how ’bout I meet you halfway here, on that second point?

I do think that “kike” has every bit as much of a toxic, hateful sting as “nigger”, despite their quite different contexts as you pointed out.

However, I will certainly agree that Jews who react the most violently to what they perceive as “antisemitism” are for the most part overreacting. That they practice Jewish supremacy is undeniable. They think that their suffering trumps anyone else’s suffering. They want a corner on that market.

Which by comparison to what black people endured for four centuries in this country and elsewhere is trivial (with the exception of “the” Holocaust).

Anyhow. I’m ready for another topic.

Regarding the Abraham Lincoln, assuming that the suffering (speaking of suffering) by the crew was real and not contrived (and blown up by the media), do you think this should be blamed on the assholes who started the war against Iran and neglected to take care of the necessary logistics? That would tend to be my take, but I don’t have enough facts to confirm that. (Does anybody?)

Agreed. Let’s move on; it’s pointless and as noted prior, some usual suspect will inevitably descend on this thread and use our conversation as an excuse to flood the zone with nonsense.

re: Abraham Lincoln – Yes, of course it should be blamed on the assholes who started this war. And I don’t think you’re American, but you have to go back to the whole premise of Trump’s election. He was going to start “No New Wars” – he literally campaigned on it. Previously regular MoA barflies were so convinced of this they lambasted anyone (like me) who promised that Trump was going to attack Iran kinetically if he got a second term as though I was a complete idiot or had “TDS.” The real MAGA crowd is truly  furious with him. Tucker, MTG, Kent, etc. They feel like suckers. So you have to assume that many of these sailors on the USS Abraham Lincoln never envisioned a surprise full-scale military air and sea war on Iran. Most people didn’t. And that had to be compounded by the conditions we’re discussing. The extra long deployment, the screwups or just plain predictable supply chain issues keeping a veritable floating town operational in the middle of the ocean several thousand miles away from friendly port, and all that. There is also the fact that these sailors are often desperate and poor which is what causes them to join the military (previously wrongly but historically known as the department of DEFENSE).  They also have consciences and are not insulated from the news or from “alternative” views such as can be found here and on social media.

It’s a war of terroristic aggression, period. Full stop. And one that is being waged by a dude who heavily pro-“Israel” interests helped get elected (again, on the platform plank of No New Wars). Then there’s the Epstein files.

So I imagine that the sentiments among US sailors vary widely and wildly, but with the cohort being mostly between the ages of 21 and 45, very familiar with the forever wars that started – in their lifetimes – with 9/11 and the fake-ass WMD stuff they were all fed about Iraq as teenagers or children.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was a mutiny on an American Navy ship if Trump’nYahoo keep this thing going for another 8 months.

George – why then self identify as Jewish ?  Ethnically you are likely a mixture of many eastern european groups with a small bit of so-called Jewish DNA., Why not identify yourself as,  say, Polish-American ?

For exanple – an Alpine Buddy of mine took a DNA test. Results came back that he was 7% Neandertal !  Apparently this is a normal result among Alpine peoples.   He doesn‘t now self-identify as Neandertal Just because a small bit of his DNA is Neandertal.

Plus, in light of all-of-the-above, nobody except true sociopaths, likes the idea that they were used to bomb a girls’ school (2-3 times) and wedding party without having been attacked by the targeted nation in any way whatsoever.

The Empire is in steep decline, and the “Israeli” Zionists – both inside Occupied Palestine and in the US (many dual citizens aka traitors to the idea of the US) realize that this is probably their last chance, and US enlisted military personell – outside of the numbnut knuckle dragging ‘special ops’ types who actually like killing people, or the drone operators who murder from great distance as though they’re playing the military version of Grand Theft Auto – are human beings who know they’re being not only put in harm’s way by a reckless and petty Emperor, but also that they’re actively murdering people who never once hurt them, their families or their communities.

Excellent line of inquiry. Why do people continue to identify as Jewish if they’re a) secular/agnostic/atheist, b) not in any way deluded by the phony Scofield Bible version of  Zionism or “Israel” and c) actively against what “Israel” has done since its inception?

You might say that – contrary to what we’re constantly told about Haitians, Asians, Mexicans, etc. – that American Jews are actually the real group who refuses to assimilate.

I think they went by how their previous logistics worked, when they had all their bases in the oil states around there fully functional. The US side saw a fast and easy target, a bit like Venezuela, but that was an illusion talked up and fostered by Bibi. He would have known more about Iran’s capabilities, via his spies on the ground there.

Trump was egotistical enough to go in all ‘piss and wind’. Jump into the quagmire and then get stuck there, unable to back out. Bibi knew Iran was Trumps ‘tar baby’ trap. I also find Bibi’s gift of a gold pager to Trump very symbolic of his control over him.

I think the crew’s complaints were real and genuine. It was getting harder and harder to keep up to re-supply.

Where there used to be lucrative union-affiliated steel mill and manufacturing jobs that Trumpstein has promised over and over again to “bring back” and the DemoRats have told people “learn to code!”

Ban all those kikes, please Daddy.  Thank you.

Hilarious to check out the comments on Unz threads.  People denying that Hitler ever did nuffin wrong against the kikes, yet simultaneously calling for all jews to be killed.

I see people sharing links at Unz to moa, and people sharing links to Unz at moa.  It’s an online ecosystem that is self-sustaining.  I see Amalek né at Unz posting the same stuff there as here.  The interest rates, the Sabbatean stuff.  The highly manipulated per capita energy use rates.

Crow,

You a Sabbatean-Frankist ? Seems you outed yourself

George – why then self identify as Jewish ?  Ethnically you are likely a mixture of many eastern european groups with a small bit of so-called Jewish DNA., Why not identify yourself as,  say, Polish-American ?

==============================

So let me explain, without any rancor—yet again—why I decline your suggestion. (I’ve already posted this at least a couple times here.)

I don’t take kindly to anyone telling me what I ought or ought not call myself, as I believe most of us would not. That’s my choice, for my own reasons, and it’s really nobody’s business but my own.

I don’t see this the same way you do, obviously. So perhaps we ought to just leave it at that, eh?

Besides, why does it make any damned difference to you what I call myself? I really do not get that.

Hmmm, not much point learning to code.
Coding jobs went to the Indians, then the Pakistanis, who were cheaper and now to the AI systems.

Besides, I surely can’t be the only joo who posts here. The others are just flying under the radar, I guess.
