War On Iran: – Iran’s Advantage

The government of Iran under President Masoud Pezeshkian is in a difficult position. The war the U.S., Israel, and their proxies are waging against the country has created huge damage. The local economy suffered. The blockade the U.S. enacts against Iran has blocked its oil sales.

There is little chance for the Iranian government to solve the problems by its own interior measures. From a short term utilitarian standpoint it would make sense for it to file for peace.

But unlike other heads of governments the President of Iran does not have full control over war and peace. That is job of the Supreme National Security Council, which includes the president, but also the military and intelligence leadership as well as representatives of the leader who has a veto over its decisions. The councils considerations are long term and focused on the country’s independence. Economic issues take second place.

Pezeshkian’s calls for peace negotiations must thus be seen as internal lobbying:

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Friday it was time to end the months-long Middle East war with the United States because Tehran was in a position of strength over Washington.

“It is better that we bring the war to an end now as we are in a position of power and dignity,” Pezeshkian said in a meeting with doctors.

“The whole world acknowledges our victory and emphasizes that America has attacked our schools, hospitals and infrastructure in violation of all regulations and is hated around the world.”

Pezeshkian was referring to the Memorandum of Understanding which U.S. President Donald Trump signed while immediately disregarding several of its clauses.

The problem with wishing to go back to the MoU is that there is no one on the other side who is willing to do so. The U.S. is still looking for regime change.

While Pezeshkian might want to go back to diplomacy the ‘hardliners’ in the Security Council can rightly point out that there is no one to talk to. There is no off-ramp Iran could take.

The Trump administration seems to believe that there is sufficient oil flowing from the Gulf to support the global economy:

The U.S. military has quietly established a shipping corridor in and out of the Strait of Hormuz to transport millions of barrels of oil each day — a notable success even as the broader war remains at a stalemate, two U.S. officials told Axios.

– Under the operation, which has been underway for the last several weeks, 15–20 tankers have entered and exited the strait each night through a southern channel along the coast of Oman.
– About 10 million barrels of oil a day — roughly half the pre-war volume — are being transported out of the strait and injected into the global energy market, the officials said.

Those claims are of course bollocks as independent sources account:

Kpler assesses three to 12 crossings daily for the last several days, including tankers, bulkers, boxships, and traffic through the Iranian-controlled lane on the north side of the strait – not just oil through the Omani side. The consultancy’s methodology includes SAR satellite radar imaging, making its counting independent of AIS transmissions, which can be easily manipulated.

and:

Seven commodity ships sailed along the Strait of Hormuz on Thursday, just half the previous day’s tally, showed ‌data from shiptracker Kpler, …

Of the total, four ships entered and three exited the waterway, … The seven did not include any very large crude carriers or liquefied natural gas tankers.

On top of that three Chinese VLCCs have U-turned in the Strait of Hormuz during the past 48 hours.

Despite those facts the Treasury Secretary (and failed bond trader) Scott Bessent says that he does not understand why oil prices spike.

Bessent was also stupid enough to ask China to join upcoming new sanctions on Iran. His call was promptly rejected:

“Sanctions and pressure will not help resolve the issue,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian told reporters at a briefing, urging all relevant parties to take responsible measures and resolve the crisis through political and diplomatic channels.

Bessent’s fevered attempts to find ways to put economic pressure on Iran is telling everyone that the Trump administration does not want to go back to fighting. It wants to keep the blockade on Iran but without further bombing.

Iran can not live with that.

That is why Iran’s Security Council is likely to escalate and to increase its pressure on the U.S.

It can ask its friends in Iraq and Yemen to launch new attacks on U.S. aligned targets. It can seize ships trying to pass the Strait. It can attack U.S. vessels which attempt to enforce the blockade.

Trump is under pressure. The price of oil, gas and diesel will keep rising. Bessent’s failed attempt to intervene in the Treasuries markets demonstrates the administration’s nervousness.

I expect Iran to slowly increase its activities against U.S. targets. These will probably look like pin pricks but they will hurt. It will try to avoid U.S. retaliations and will, for now, avoid more massive measures.

One must remember that this is not the first time Iran had to struggle with hostile economic measures:

Barack Obama @BarackObama – 1:18 UTC · Oct 12, 2012
VP Biden on Iran: “These are the most crippling sanctions in the history of sanctions. Period.”

When Obama tried that Iran did not give in. It was the Obama administration which had to make concessions (Iran was allowed to enrich) to finally get to the nuclear agreement.

Trump will likewise have to find a way out.

Via google I looked up “which minerals does Iran domestically produce”, in the AI overview I got an impressive list back and a links to further detailed information. They also have quite some potential and current production in the field of rare earth materials and uranium.  This is only one example of its self reliance. Iran does not fit in the ‘current’ world economic order where third world countries provide the raw materials and cheap labour and buy back the finished goods.

Israel is the Zionist state. It does not represent “the Jews.”

It claims to represent all Jews, and this is the source of all the other lies upon which Zionism rests.
The headline of the link you posted only confirms this.

You’re someone who does their research.
Look into whether Zionists were a majority among Jews anywhere outside of England before World War II.
Then, perhaps you’ll start to realize that this whole narrative of Zionism = Jews = Israel is a massive construct of the system established in the West in the post-war era.

Answer Adolf Hitler. But Richard Nixon, Frank Abagnale Jr, and Bernie Madoff got a mention. But no DJ Trump.

According to AI, Trump only tells “falsehoods”. In his first term as President he told a documented 30,000 falsehoods, but never a lie.

It seems a falsehoods is not a lie unless the teller believes what he/she is saying is wrong.

Posted by: Yeah, Right | Aug 22 2026 1:11 utc | 75 … I think the Iranians won’t escalate gradually.  I think they will launch a full-throated offensive with the aim of completely and utterly humiliating the Trump Administration and shaking the American public out of its oafish complacency….
.
.
<=The bottom up American has little awareness of the situation. The content of the 30 minute 5 O’clock news has become a 20 minute blow by blow weather report, 6 minutes of advertising and 4 minutes of light-hearted news most of which is who died or what some court ruled somewhere and a human interest story or two.  So most Americans are able to tell you if it is likely to rain tomorrow, even at what hour and in what neighborhood, but they don’t understand how their own personal cost of living, and the jobs they earn their livings from, are directly related to the invasion of Iran, a blockade and  a sanctions package.
.
.
That said, it is not likely Iran can present “humiliation” in way that can over come or circumvent the media news black out, screening processes and invented narratives.  Most Americans cannot not point to Iran, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, UAE, Oman, etc. on a map.. Locating the Persian Gulf, Mediterranean and black sea  on a labeled map might take a while without tutorial help..
.
.

So it is unlikely, no matter what Iran does, that a large part of the  American public will become informed enough about the situation to demand something different.

Iran ranked ~#2 in Intelligence
Israelis ranked ~#40 in Intelligence

Since 2006, the average achievement level of Israeli children in all PISA [OECD]exams in mathematics, science, and reading was below those of all developed nations. It’s important to emphasize that this low score was achieved without ultra-Orthodox boys, who do not study the material and do not participate in the exams. Had they been tested, the national achievement level would have been even lower.

Throughout the ages, elders of every religion have internal debates about what is scripture and what is heresy. Teaching or parables that are identified as wrong or no longer acceptable are shunned, discarded or banned outright.

Yet all teachings advocating genocide is kept in Judaism.

Alon Mizrahi allude to the fact that Christianity and Islam are the  break away from the morally wrong teachings within Judaism.

We stay silent when the argument is that Jews must be allowed a State, even arguing that they deserve a state.

If we look for the root cause in the ME, it is a Jewish homeland as a given.

Whether it is Zionists, liberal, conservative, Orthodox, Ultra or whatever different flavors of Jews they identify themselves with, they are there because they are Jews and have been committing genocide since inception.

The real Jews are the ones rejecting the State of Israel as Usurping Devine Will.

As long as the genociders hide behind the Jew label and insist on a Jewish State then maybe the conversation needs to be is it OK to be identified as a Jew?

Protestant, Seven Day Adventist, Orthodox Greek/Russian/Coptic are proof that Religion can survive with the excesses removed and the names changed.

If Abraham Lincoln carrier is used heavily in combat operations, that too will burn out in a few months and be sent packing for R&R, maybe for a year. Most likely there is more going on under the hood of the US navy than is publicly informed about – serious morale issues, worn equipment, accommodation on ships, US navy logistics is largely inefficient after losing ME bases and now heavily relies on Diego Garcia.

If Iran were to hit Diego Garcia and supply stockpiles there, US navy would find it nearly impossible to operate in the Indian Ocean. But even without it it is severely handicapped. Never mind the low storage of Tomahawk and ship based AD missiles, which Iran and the houthis easily ran down. Once again, no oilers, no resupply for ships out at sea.

Using these facts one can conclude that the US navy is simply unable to continue attacking Iran beyond the potential use of a nuke. This is precisely why there were leaks of nukes being discussed in Pentagon/White house, and why now the ‘strategy’ is trade blockade of Iran, which doesn’t require any sustainable combat readiness.

Good point. I believe that the region will never know peace as long as the US occupation of Iraq isn’t resolved. It seems like Iraqi MPs have long ago given up on pledges to free their country from Uncle Sam’s grip. Regrettably, no one speaks up to expose and condemn the egregious american control of the economy.

Iran will wait out the US given the already low levels of the US SPR and the serious reduction in oil exports from the Red Sea. At some point quite possibly the achievable flow rate out of those salt caverns will drop and Trump will either have to TACO or stop US oil product exports; which will cause absolute chaos for Europe and Japan. The outside-of-US oil price will sky rocket, making it much easier for Iran to make money with less oil exports. While also giving Russia a nice fiscal boost and China will be fine with its massive reserves and electrified transport systems.
Iran has a massive fleet of full oil tankers at sea, added to during the waiver period. At US$150+ a barrel, they will get a lot of money for those about 100 million barrels, while still exporting at least 500,000 barrels per day by rail and still exporting oil products to Pakistan. If they want to squeeze a bit harder, they can have Ansar Allah hit the Saudi Red Sea oil export terminal to completely stop that flow while hitting ships off Fujairah a lot more to stop that flow.
This is existential for Iran, to at last get the US and Israel off their back. It is worth the required sacrifices. China is happy as the US military is ground down in the Middle East and the Safe Asian Space is protected from the US. Great for Russia if Europe gets it in the neck this winter from both oil and gas shortages.

Dr. Ooi Kee Beng, Executive Director of the Penang Institute, diagnoses the core obstacle to a genuine multipolar world: the West’s persistent orientalism and colonial mindset.

Until that changes, multipolarity will remain unstable. “The West has always been interesting in that you always have a range of values and understandings of things. At the moment, though, the orientalistic faction is very strong. Orientalist in the sense that if it’s not West, it’s bad.

In this part of the world, we’re already thinking about a future that is necessarily multipolar.

Multipolarity to the extent it’s already here won’t be very peaceful unless the West is not unipolar. If there’s only one West, then there won’t be any multipolarity because the West won’t allow it. But if the West discovers that it is not one — it is many parts — and it can agree within itself that other civilizations are not by definition inferior, then we have a chance.

As long as the West wants to go the way where anything non-Western is inferior, and if there’s anything good outside of the West it’s copied from the West — which is a ridiculous idea — that seems to be part of the discourse.

So going forward, our biggest challenge is to re-educate the West.

It’s time for the West to leave the colonial mindset behind.

By that I mean you’re not out to discover the world.

You’re not out to save the world.

The Bandung Conference was the first attempt by the non-West countries to say, ‘Hey, we are in this together. We have similar problems, and the problem is Western capitalism, and that colonialism isn’t over just because of the Second World War — it takes other forms.’

The Bandung Conference members today we call the Global South. We have to stand up and regain whatever integrity we lost. And I think to convince the West that they need re-educating will come from economic need — not so much ideological. Economic need first, and then the ideology will follow. Economics goes first, and then the mind follows.”

The West must abandon its claim to civilizational superiority. Only then does a stable multipolar order become possible.

#137 “doesn’t believe the USSA would use nukes…..”
Really?  There were twelve captured American fliers incarcerated in Hiroshima on Aug.16, 1945.  The USSA authorities knew about these recently captured fliers and nuked Hiroshma anyways, incinerating the lads along with at least a hundred thousand civilians.  Truman then announced the destruction of an important military target with a new weapon…..the only military being destroyed being the twelve hapless American fliers.

There was a broad understanding in the western populations back then, as today, that the enemy was at home.  Lenin was unique in that he built a real revolutionary party and executed a real program to strike the enemy at home.  The program was successful.  It ended WW1 and took over one ninth of the earths surface in the name of workers committees or “Soviets”.  Putin is a product of the Soviet Union.
He’s remains more relevant today that nearly any political figure in history.  He should be studied carefully by every wage slave.  His teachings are what is required today to smash Zio Imperialism.

Trump doesn’t have to do anything, because hes not in charge of this, nor do I think he wants it.  As this craziness proceeds its become ever more apparent the US federal government is under foreign (israeli) control.

It was proved that after the initial strikes Israel simply quit helping and started lighting a new fire with Turkey.  Everyone can now see America first is an empty slogan, which is tragic.

And even worse it looks like the Dems have been taken over by communists which I suspect is part of the manipulation.   They are the only group that makes an Israel first policy look even somewhat palatable.

So you live in Russia? Abbey, who I quote above, was an anarchist like myself. The problem with ‘civilization’ is that it has paradoxes or contradictions that seem to make it untenable in the long-run and seems in large part why we keep collapsing them throughout history. In any case, if those of us who wish to live in a civilization that gets it reasonably right over a far longer time-frame– assuming that’s even possible– it might help that our collective intelligence level is sufficiently outside and to the right of the bell curve of the current average.

Every Scientist Should Be An Anarchist
“The corporate research model is one of incremental data collection bent severely by patent and military concerns. Aside from being hugely psychologically scarring to scientists and actively suppressing the sort of deep-thinking paradigmatic leaps that keep theoretical clutter from accumulating, the focus of investigation is largely determined from the top down in order to maximize short term benefits to those in power. Obviously this has led to all kinds of terrible consequences and has helped reinforce the notion of scientists as irresponsible lapdogs of authority, but more importantly it has had a retarding effect on scientific development as a whole. Logical follow-ups on discoveries or theoretical developments aren’t just pursued unequally, whole trains of investigation are artificially accelerated or decelerated relative one another creating situations where realizations that speak to core issues with another train aren’t discovered until well into its development.”

Jews for Jesus still exists and appears to be vibrant :

Jesus is transforming lives of Jewish people around the world.

Being Jewish and believing in Jesus were meant to go together. But many have never heard the good news of our Messiah.

We want our people to have the chance to experience the spiritual richness we’ve found in knowing and following Jesus.

Our staff come from diverse Jewish backgrounds. We’re artists, parents, doctors, and former IDF soldiers. But we have one thing in common: We all believe Yeshua (Jesus) is the Messiah our prophets foretold.

Saint Paul addresses them as “Hebrews”  That’s a better name.

Words have meaning within their original context. The Hebrews are the descendants of Eber.
Abraham was a descendant of Eber in the sixth generation. Eber himself is said to have been the great-grandson of Shem, one of Noah’s sons and the figure from whom the term “Semitic” derives.

Meanwhile, the word “Jew” is thought to originate from “Judean,” derived from Judah, a son of Jacob (also known as Israel), a name that also designates one of the twelve Hebrew tribes that migrated from Egypt to Canaan..
Abraham’s religious practices were passed down to his descendants and later formalized through the laws of Moses. Thus, there existed a “religion of the Hebrews” specific to this group.

But then came a time when those from “Judah” said they were most Hebrew than the other Hebrews and the only ones to follow the “True Religion”. Seems familiar?

From this time, begins “Judaism”.
Not only is this “religion of the Hebrews” quite distinct from what is known today as “Judaism,” but equating an ethnic and tribal designation with a religion is, to say the least, problematic.

That would be akin to equating “Arab” with “Islam”, something no sensible person would do.

Changing the meaning of words is the first step in deception.

First 7 minutes of Escobar/Diesen interview gives a brief account of an attempt to bribe the IRGC.   Larry Johnson also speaking of it elsewhere.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ACDwXDICn4s

If the story has not been corrupted in transmission it shows the US administration still believing or hoping that Iran can be defeated by internal subversion.

After the opening seven minutes Escobar goes on to explain why it’s scarcely a walk in the park for the Iranians as they seek to evade or diminish the effects of Western sanctions.

This is a tough conflict, with the Western powers, or rather the psychos in charge in the West,  throwing all we have into it.  Though we are in the process of discovering that “all we have” no longer cuts it as it used to.  As for “Western powers” rather than “the US”, it’s illusion to consider the US as the only protagonist.  Europe’s tucked in behind the US in the ME conflicts, to the extent of its considerably more limited strength and making allowance for the PR necessity of claiming it’s not.

As for the Russian part in the conflict, in that respect this particular conflict is quite different from similar conflicts in the past.

We often see the reproach that when this or that country goes under, the Russians didn’t move to save it.   Nor did they often.  Rather, nor could they.  The country has to be ready and able to save itself and if it’s not there’s not much any third party can do.  “I can’t be more Serbian than the Serbians,” was Putin’s answer in response to that reproach in the Serbian case.  So too with the Syrians.  The Russians could not use their own forces in Syria to repel the Al Qaeda takeover, not when the Syrians were themselves in no condition to mount an effective resistance.

It looks as if the position is different with Iran.  Not only are the Iranians themselves determined to offer resistance, they’ve spent a couple of decades preparing to do so.

To some effect.  I recollect Daniel Davis showing Professor Postol a video of an Iranian missile emerging from what looked like no more  than empty desert, sand spraying all over the place, no way of detecting and thus attacking the launch site beforehand.   The destruction of some big American radars positioned in the Gulf states also showed the Iranians working to a prepared and very effective defence.  Dozens of other examples show that when it cane to a military defeat of Iran the US had bitten off more than it could chew.  I’m not military but those who are reckon the chances of a purely military victory – barring nuclear and perhaps not even then – are slim.

That leaves internal destabilisation.  Doesn’t seem to have worked  though long term the internal stresses – still there though currently submerged under patriotic fervour –  might be made use of.  Proxy war does not look promising either.   The Kurds, Azeris and Balochis don’t seem effective tools.  The Iranians have pre-empted with the Kurds, the Azeris are not performing as hoped and the last thing the Pakistanis want is a Balochi insurgency that would spread their side of the border.  Leaves only sanctions warfare.
When it comes to sanctions warfare  the Russians don’t have to be worried they’re in danger of being “more Iranian than the Iranians”.  The funeral crowds showed the Iranians being as Iranian as can be.  Determined to resist destruction no matter the cost.   With the massive economic weight of the Chinese behind them as well the Iranians look all set for Trump’s Hail Mary sanctions war.

If so, and though I’m a Westerner I’m afraid I can only hope so, then it’ll be a defeat as significant as the defeat in Ukraine.  More so?

Maybe.  Ukraine was a lost war from the start.  No surprises there except for the mugs.  This war, however, wasn’t.  Nor is it, as Escobar points out, that easy now.  But if the Iranians do manage to get through it they will, more or less singlehandedly, have seriously limited the psychos’ ability to wreck the place over quite a lot of the planet.

Got to be good news that, for us in the West as well.  The psychos in charge in Europe and the States are not only wrecking other countries.  They’re fouling their own nest too and it’s the only nest we Westerners have to live in.

I am of two minds when dealing with secular Jews on the internet.

Being conscious of their subversive nature, one must keep in their mind this possibility that you are dealing with someone who is not here in good faith and, indeed, does not understand the concept of neighbor as espoused by our Lord and Savior.

On the other hand, we must treat these rabid beasts in a welcoming fashion and must plead for their conversion, an impossibility that is nonetheless possible only through appealing to God and through the Holy Spirit for which is the true arbiter of the workings of History.

Kierkegaard wrote in his diaries that it will be the Jews who conquer and destroy Christendom in the west and do exactly that which they accused the Goy would do to them. (and this was indeed part and parcel of their infiltrationary-ability: to ingratiate themselves into the body politik such that their victimhood would become the dagger that would be plunged into the backs of those good-natured enough to care for the Jews’ historical plight)

And to go a step further:

I am beginning to think that Jews in their secular deployment have been fitted with some kind of memory-altering device where they have been programmed to work for Jewish-supremacy but attest to others that they have no knowledge of such a mission.

Some real Phillip K. Dick stuff. That is all the benefit of doubt you will receive from me, George. But I will, however, pray for your conversion, as I do for all those doing harm to their soul.

Listening to this man give his account on Soft White Underbelly while doing some drywall work this morning, speaking about what ails men in the west today, one can certainly receive a masterclass in the secular Jew’s ability to appeal to the aching sensibility of the average western male while working the knife, so to speak, to bend the will of the Goy towards the needs of world Jewry.

It is a riveting psychosocial tour-de-force from this necromancing secular Jew who incorporates many, many easily ascertained revelations regarding the western spirit as it stands to work his magic and worm his way in.

Early red flags in the interview sent me to his Wikipedia page and his early life and it read: Jewish mother.

Ah-ha.

Wait a little while into the interview, he will subconsciously influence your geopolitical worldview when talking about social media and how the people in the US must galvanize beyond social media’s attempt to divide us politically and recognize the true threat the world is facing: Russia invading Ukraine.

No shit. He actually says this. But to be surprised by the Jew is to mean that you are controlled by them.

Mark my words: the ascendancy of Democratic Socialism is running on a platform of Anti-Israeli sentiment. When they are elected, as the economic situation in Estados Unidos will continually propel them into victory, their focus will switch to “the rising tide of Anti-semitism.”

You heard it here first, people. Get ready.

Dear james@157

I was tired engaging in a Piers Morgan type exchange, not in the subject matter.

Thank you for requesting a link I had earlier included.

Excerpt :
“For a long time I mostly avoided talking about Judaism directly – at least in English. In years gone by, I spoke freely about the Jewish religion and what I saw as its deep flaws and shortcomings. This conversation, by the way, is very prevalent among Jews.
I never liked the Jewish religion (as an adult; as a teenager I did fall for it for a year or so), and it never really appealed to me, for one main reason: it is a religion that sets Jews apart from the rest of humanity.
For Judaism and in Judaism, there is no humanity. There are Jews – the eternally chosen ones and God’s main concern and exclusive designated audience and people – and other, lesser beings.

Without Islam and Christianity, Judaism Should Mean Absolutely Nothing for Humanity

Dear arby and EO, apologies.

However, there would be no Iran thread without Isreal wanting to cut off the “head of the snake”.

No US President was stupid enough to do what the Isreal wanted until Trump came along.

Israelis and their supporters around the world call themselves Jews.

Root causes, people.

I am of two minds when dealing with secular Jews on the internet.

Both of which suck in my opinion.

Being conscious of their subversive nature, one must keep in their mind this possibility that you are dealing with someone who is not here in good faith and, indeed, does not understand the concept of neighbor as espoused by our Lord and Savior.

Aha; so now you’re proposing Xtianity as somehow superior to Judaism.

Gotcha.

And you never addressed your personal attack on myself. Not that it really matters, but I would like to know what you meant by it, which is not explained in your post above.

Given the entire Zio Imperialist billionaire oligarchy in the West is also human, you’re getting pretty far off the issue.
Hint: the issue is social class, not abstract humanity.

Are they? They sure don’t behave like Humans. From my perspective, they appear to have jettisoned the Human part of themselves.

Like almost everything, those malicious actors have weaponized social class and used it as an extremely powerful tool in the endless banker-class destruction of Humanity.

Probably all this j talk is because the Iran war is the US saying we are gonna starve you fuckers. That’s our plan. Countered by the Iranians saying if you just touch us we are gonna smack you so bad you won’t forget it.

sometimes I realize that I have become like a CNN addict. I keep wanting to keep up with the latest latest war news.

This is the Strait of Hormuz traffic report. Not very exciting but for the last couple of weeks about the only interesting stat. Right now it says 6 ships are transiting.

@186 George

It is NOT an issue of supremacy.

It is an infinite qualitative difference: the teachings of Christ is the word of God. To reject Christ and to fight it means you are rejecting the Logos.

Therefore, it is a matter of the way, truth, and life and that which runs counter. Why would anyone want to run away from God?

Sheesh. You’re as bad a religious zealot (and chauvinist) as Giyane …

As has been so many times rehearsed in literature as well as in life, some of us just don’t believe in God at all. How do you like them apples?

From various sources

Nearly 200 ships passed through the Strait of Hormuz last week, up from 150 the previous week and about 40 two weeks earlier, the New York Post reported on Saturday, citing UK Maritime Trade Operations data.

Axios political reporter and Middle East correspondent Barak Ravid reported early Saturday that 40 tankers transited the Strait of Hormuz on Friday night, citing three unnamed US officials.

US President Donald Trump on Saturday shared a tweet by Fox News contributor and Washington Post columnist Marc Thiessen on Truth Social. “We’ve escorted over 1000 ships through the Strait of Hormuz,” Thiessen wrote.

Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Secretary Mohsen Rezaei said Saturday that the Strait of Hormuz was closed and would not reopen unless the United States changed its behavior and fulfilled its commitments.“The Strait of Hormuz is closed and will not reopen,” Rezaei said in an interview with state television. “If the United States changes its behavior and fulfills its commitments, the equation will be different, but this time the United States must act. It cannot be resolved through words and talks.”
Rezaei said Iran had reached an agreement with Oman over a “middle route” through the strait, but that a joint statement had not yet been finalized.

I can’t find the piece that said passage was less than half dozen ships/day recently but the point/question I want to make is that the truth should not be impossible to determine with a database of ships and reported location over time……are they are still stuck in Persian gulf or not?

The fog of war, eh?

Indeed, shouldn’t be impossible. That data is definitely tracked, somewhere.

Hopefully someone here can provide the real answer. I’d like to know.

Why would you think Axios or US officials are capable of telling the truth?

Posted by: QuestionMarcus | Aug 23 2026 1:09 utc | 195

For the war junkies, the latest is news of a E3 squawking the distress code yesterday or the day before and another yesterday, both near or around UAE.

As for ships going through, Iraq and negotiated 3 Chinese ships to go through with Iran.

Believing Axios is similar to believing everything the Pedophile in Chief post on Truth Social, less fog more blinkers.

….and another F35 yesterday…..

Thanks to those responding to my musing about ship traffic thru Hormuz

The Intertube says that there are less than 9000 oil tankers and only in the Dystopia we live in does a “reporter” not compile a database of those 9K ships and track them using the various publicly available sources.
How long has Hormuz been closed and where is the list of those 1K ships Trumps says his mighty navy have helped transit since?

We live in a suburb of Hollywood, eh?

Where is the beef?

Regarding shipping tracking:
You could try one of the available online tracking services, like this one:
https://www.vesselfinder.com
(you can pan and zoom in to find the Strait of Hormuz, or anywhere else)

or this one:
https://www.marinetraffic.com/en/ais/home/centerx:-12.0/centery:25.0/zoom:4

Of course, these only track vessels that have their AIS turned on, not any “dark fleet” ships.
