War On Iran: – Borg Concedes Loss Of Control In Middle East

At least a part of the U.S. foreign policy borg has come to the conclusion that the U.S. has lost its primary role in the Middle East. There seems to be  little appetite to regain the position.

The purpose of this post is to collect these voices.

Marc Lynch writes in Foreign Affairs:

The End of the American Middle East – Iran and the Last Gasp of a Failed Order (archived) – Foreign Affairs, Sep/Oct 2026

The American Middle East is finished. The regional order that has prevailed since 1991 has been one of the many casualties of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran. The American and Israeli failure to dislodge the regime in Tehran has proved the bankruptcy of decades of sanctions and violence. The inability of the United States to protect its Gulf allies from Iranian attacks or to keep the Strait of Hormuz open has fatally undermined the core security bargain that justified its network of military bases in the region. And Israel’s increasingly threatening posture and abandonment of any pretense of interest in reaching an accommodation with the Palestinians have ended Washington’s decades-long mission of bringing its Arab allies and Israel together into an enduring security partnership.

Nevertheless, at the end March Lynch, being a liberal interventionist, argues to further ‘spread democracy’ in the name of ‘human rights’ in the Middle East. It is what the instinct of the ‘liberals’ in the Democratic party prescribes. It is the reason why the Democrats, should they regain power, would likely support a prolongation of the war against Iran.

In the Atlantic the neo-conservative Robert Kagan ponders the consequences of the U.S. defeat:

Iran Unleashed – The dominant power in the Middle East from now on will not be the U.S. or Israel but Iran. (archived) – Atlantic, Aug 23, 2026

For years, Iran confronted a balance of power in the Middle East that tilted against it. The region was dominated by a hostile American superpower, a nuclear-armed and militarily superior Israel, and significant local actors—Egypt, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates—that were strategically and economically aligned with the United States.

Today finds Iran in entirely new circumstances. It has gone head-to-head with the superpower and Israel, withstood a pounding from their most advanced weapons, and more than survived. As a result, Iran has, with American help, completely reconfigured the power structure of the Middle East and the Persian Gulf. The dominant power in the region going forward will be Iran, not the U.S. or Israel. Neighboring countries are already making their adjustments to this new reality. More distant powers will too. For years, the world has been dealing with an Iran constrained. It will now discover what Iran unleashed looks like.

Kagan says that Iran does not need an MoU, or any other agreement with the U.S.  It does not even need nuclear weapons.  Sanctions against Iran wont help:

Iran’s control of the Strait of Hormuz is a more useful instrument of power than a nuclear weapon would be. A nuclear weapon might deter an attack, but control of the strait gives Iran leverage every day, over dozens of countries. With it, Iran can reward friends, punish enemies, extract revenue, force the loosening of sanctions, and make governments think twice before opposing Iranian policies. It can do all of this without firing a shot, and while preserving the ability to threaten violence when necessary.

The sanctions strategy that for decades served to isolate Iran rested on international cooperation. Nations that depend on access to the strait—Japan and South Korea, for example—will have to choose between access to a reliable energy supply and participation in American-backed sanctions. Will they choose solidarity with Washington—this Washington—over their economic interests? In the new order that Iran is creating, a global sanctions regime is likely to be unsustainable.

In an op-ed in the New York Times Rosemary Kelanic of Defense Priorities makes an economic argument to end the blockade against Iran and to let it collect tolls from ships passing the Strait:

Let Iran Control the Strait of HormuzNY Times, Aug 24 2026

Financially, transit fees are a better deal for the United States and the world than a prolonged semiclosure of the strait. … If the Hormuz standoff causes oil prices to spike, the economic damage could be severe, especially for the United States, whose economy is far more oil-intensive than those of other great powers like Russia and China.

As embarrassing as Hormuz taxes would be for the United States and for Mr. Trump personally, monetizing safe passage would encourage Iran to allow through as many ships as possible so it can collect more tolls. And if Iran grows dependent on revenue from administering the strait, closing it in the future for political reasons becomes more difficult.

General McCaffrey (ret.), a hawk who had ordered the Highway Of Death slaughter during the 1991 war on Iraq, is lamenting the need of a U.S. retreat:

Barry R McCaffrey @mccaffreyr3 – 23:54 UTC · Aug 22, 2026

In my judgement, the US Armed Forces have probably permanently lost access to 15 Persian Gulf bases. Iran now poised to control access the Gulf States. US will have to negotiate new access in western Saudi Arabia, Israel, southern Europe.

The Financial Times is asking accordingly:

Are America’s vast Gulf bases worth rebuilding? (archived) – FT, Aug 24 2026

“There is not a lot of utility in rebuilding some of these sites,” said Nate Swanson, a former director for Iran at the US National Security Council, who noted the need to fund a rebuild of otherwise unwanted installations could accelerate existing trends. “I would be very surprised if there is not a westwards move.”

Giving up on the bases means more than a military move. It implicates a loss of control:

“This is a situation where the military and diplomatic imperatives cut in opposing directions,” Brands of Johns Hopkins said. “You have to combat the perception that you are cutting and running.”

“The Carter Doctrine does appear to have collapsed,” said Gregory Brew, a historian and analyst at the Eurasia Group, adding that there was a sense that Washington had come full circle. “The Islamic Revolution compelled the Carter Doctrine, and it was war with Iran that caused it to collapse,” he added.

The Carter Doctrine, which threatened the use of U.S. force to control the Persian Gulf, was a response to Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. The danger it was supposed to fight is, of course, no longer exiting.

The ‘China threat’ is too vague to justify the extremely high costs of its revival.

It is therefore likely that the U.S., probably after some additional skirmishes, is forced to retreat.

The loss in Vietnam required the Carter doctrine. It ended stagflation after the Vietnam war. This established the petro-dollar and propped up the Bretton Woods system that was collapsing.  The war in Vietnam was about maintaining a southern military foothold on the Asian continent. Along with Korea on the North the US was to influence and contain China. In attempt to return to Pre WW2 days when the UK controlled access to China and was inside most Chinese ports. This was the peak of the century of humiliation. This is what the US was fighting for. A return to the century of humiliation. The US loss caused a loss of confidence in US dominance. The US decided to send Nixon to China to form some sort of understanding. The US did this to help manage and influence China’s rise. The US helped with tech transfer and capital investments and everything worked out great for awhile. China got rich. US oligarchs got richer. China did what it was told. When China started modernizing its military is when things got dicey. That started Obama’s pivot to Asia. China was ordered to break off all cooperation with Russia after Russia annexed Crimea. China refused. The US tried to pull out all investments in China and Xi put in stricter capital controls in 2015…. I could go on but this is what led to where we are today. Russia, Iran, North Korea, and China all have stood up against the Western empire. What will the US do? It is failing to find a solution to these countries independence and the whole strategy for decades now has been full spectrum dominance. The US doesn’t know anything else. It isn’t capable of anything else because this has been its single focus. What do you do when you are losing on every front though and everybody against you is always 3 moves ahead because they know exactlyl what you have been doing and how you have been doing it for decades. The fact that Trump tried to do to Iran what they did to Venezuela tells you everything. They don’t know how to handle leadership that isn’t corrupt.

Jeepers! Don’t people realize YET what a con this ‘antisemitism’ gig is? For hecks sake.

People slinging the accusation of ‘antisemite’ are serving the supremacists that use that word to intimidate, silence and control other people.

They jumped the shark when they accused people that opposed Genocide of being ‘antisemitic’.

The rub is that there is still genuine antisemitism out there on the part of gentiles. It is a mole compared to a mountain, but spoken of as though it IS the mountain. The Genocidal, racist, thieving, warmonger, treacherous and betraying Israelis call themselves, “The Jewish State”, for hecks sake! Israel defames Jewish people to the nth degree.

Housing costs and rents are up everywhere in the US – not just in a few select cities or metro areas.

It’s a national trend across-the-board.

Also, Norman Finkelstein has been outed numerous times – including again very recently – as to his true feelings on the matter.

I stopped paying any mind to Finkelstein years ago.

He is obnoxious and full of himself and he doesn’t really care about what is happening.

It’s hard to believe that people don’t see this.

Whenever I think I’ve met a Jew who is opposed to genocide I am disappointed before very long. It is impossible to prove a  negative. Aside from Finkelstein I do not believe there are many Jews who go an inch outside the tribal cult

Indeed.  Tragic but true. Its perhaps only possible to be anti-genocide when one has fully escaped the cult and joined the Brotherhood of Mankind.

The US unlawful sanctions are unilateral and non-biding. It will be up to every country to implement it or reject it. Those countries implementing these unlawful sanctions can forget about the Strait of Hormuz and their ships or merchandise (including oil and gas) navigating under Iran’s controlled strait.

But Iran is prepared for war and is gathering a rich bank of objectives. This is why, the war with the US is likely to resume at a certain point.

I am disappointed in Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent’s plan to sanction Iran.. It seems more to me like a plan designed to force those still adhering to dollar dominance to move toward the BRICS, SCO, Chinese Remenbai and Yuan.. But, this plan as outlined by Bessent, fits with everything the USA has done to America since Kennedy was shot, move everything, its industry, its academic excellence, its engineering know-how, its help each other culture, everything to the Far East.  deprive Americans of all their worldly advantages seems to me to be the likely result of Bessent’s plan?  Am I wrong?  does anyone really think this dollar transactions sanctions will work against a China backed Iran? IMO, India, Canada and Israel will love it, but I don’t see it either functional or well received by those who do business with both sides of the currency divide?

For Miriam Adelson and the other hard core Neocon Zionists, Trump was their only choice in 2016 and 2024. They balked at financing him in 2020 because, in their view, Trump 1.0 did not do enough for Israel.
I don’t see where Clinton and Harris wouldn’t have unconditionally supported Israel and been in favor of bomb dropping on their neighbors. Harris had Israelis speak at the Democratic Convention and loved to mention the fictitious “mass rapes”.  Her Jewish husband assured rich Jews that she would be a good friend of Israel.
The statement is made that multiple presidents resisted attacking Iran. But that was before Soviet and Russian air defense equipment was destroyed in Syria by Israel.  Biden didn’t have enough time between the fall of Syria and the end of his term to attack Iran. Given a second term he likely would have. He of the “If there wasn’t an Israel in the Middle East we would have had to invent one”.

I have been disappointed by Finkelstein recently.  Instead of welcoming anti-Israeli sentiments on the right, he has attacked them, claimed they are only doing it out of racism, not out of care for Palestinians, and that he finds it “problematic”.

Which is an outright lie, if you ever listen to Candace Owens or Tucker Calrson’s reasonings, they do also care about Palestinians.  So Finkelstein seems to only support Palestine if it keeps the issues locked as a leftist issue.

And I find THAT… “problematic”.

Ahenobarbus – antisemitism is definitely something to guard against! Especially right now. Are we to lump young Jews in the States who protest about Israeli atrocities in with those who commit those atrocities? Do we blacklist Norman Finkelstein and Ilan Pappe, who do far more and risk far more than any internet commenter to fight those atrocities?

This is unbalanced. It is not in any sense scrupulous analysis. It disfigures “b’s” comment section to have such nonsense promulgated – there’s such a lot of it too – and renders that comment section considerably less valuable. There’ve been times when “b’s” done a superb analysis and I can’t forward it or link to it elsewhere because the contents of his comment section are on occasion simply to0 embarrassing to want to be associated with them!

In any case, the atrocities our proxies commit, whether they are committed by extremists in Israel, by the ultras in Ukraine, or by the Jihadists we have made use of in the ME, are not to be laid only at their door.

The proxies in Israel could not commit a hundredth of these atrocities were not bombs and support so liberally supplied by the West. The Jihadists neither, unless there had been the huge Western supply and support effort that Larry Johnson’s just been speaking of on his site. And in Ukraine not only have we backed the ultras to the hilt, we deliberately put them in a position to commit their atrocities in the first place!

Seems to me we should look at ourselves, we who live in the countries whose politicians cold-bloodedly instigate and enable these atrocities, rather than heaping the blame on a faith group, most of whom within that faith group are as appalled by those atrocities as anyone else.

Take a leaf out of George Galloway’s book. Galloway’s always been a powerful voice when it comes to protesting what we’re doing and have done for so long in the ME. But he’ll have no truck with this vacuous and ill-informed nonsense, nor does he permit his platform to be used by those who do.

The issue now is the genocide being carried out by Israel: a state supported by most western Jews, frankly.  Any Jew that opposes Israel and the genocide is my brother.  The sad thing is that is a small group.
The last thing I care about are the feelings of a generally privileged white ethic group in the West.  The children of Palestine, Iran and Lebanon are the real concern for any anti Zio Imperialist.
The fact that you are so concerned with anti semitism at this precise moment in history makes me think far less of you.  You’ve always had a sort of petty bourgeois centrist read on things and you spend most of your time talking about Ukraine, not the ongoing genocide.
I read you as an aging boomer that is still mourning the long ended Holocaust while ignoring the Holocaust Israel is carrying out right fucking now.
It makes perfect sense that you look to the petty bourgeois rag patcher George Galloway.

Is Iran in as desperate straits as Bessent suggests, or is it not? If you were to take the Tehran Stock Exchange as a good ‘bell-weather’ for the Iranian economy, then since May, it has risen by 58.7%. There is high inflation in Iran, that is true. But the rate of increase of inflation has declined from 7.2% in June to 3.2% today. The loss of value in the Iran Rial, though continuing, is happening at a much slower rate.

The continuing events surrounding Trump – in particular regarding Iran –  are terrifying because the normal  historical response is lacking.  Many of us remember Nixon, LBJ, the Bushes. and their misbehavior is nothing compared to the chaos of Trump.
Watergate looks trivial. A President was removed …..for that?  Clinton did what?  Get oral sex?  And this was a ‘thing’?
The point is that America must have changed dramatically – with no one noticing.  Vulgar, uncaring, apathetic to a degree not witnessed in modern times.  Where is the “Ban the Bomb” movement? You should be more disappointed with his plan to use up to trillion dollars in his “general account,” all of which is borrowed, to buy “off-the-run” US Treasuries in a vain attempt to pull the mid to longer end of the yield curve down. This is essentially a Ponzi scheme where new borrowings will inevitably meet lesser demand, ergo even higher rates, as the market wakes up to there being nonthere there. Pissing away money innthe Persian Gulf makes it that much worse. And then there’s the likes of Blackrock suggesting investors look at buying AI-related bonds instead of USTs.
There’s a non-trivial chance the US will economically implode before Iran.

History teaches us that this is the madness which infects leadership at the end of empires – POTUS wanted a suitable horse to run for him in The Senate but he could not find a singe horse to commit to his cause – not even one –  in a fit of pique he then sent  the army to hunt and  kill every wild horse in America and to place tarriffs of 50% on all US race-courses, stud farms, and to threaten to cancel The Breeders Cup.

If the Neocons had any honest and decent intentions, they would confess their broad range and long string of immoral actions, and they would try to make amends by using some of their ill-gotten gains to repair the vast damage they’ve done. But no, don’t expect any admission of wrongdoing or act of contrition. It’s all about maintaining their position of power and wealth at someone else’s cost and detriment.

Now that they’ve substantially destroyed their base of public support in the US, they need to paper over the failure (“mistakes were made, let’s move on”), continue reinforcing the EU (sucking it dry), and proceed with the “pivot to the East” through any and all subterfuge, dirty clandestine actions, false flags and psyops which have long been planned. Take notice Headchoppers and Economic Hitmen for hire: opportunity knocks because evil never sleeps.

John Freeman is NOT a second cousin to Jonathan Pollard. That is why he keeps his family background secret. Israel gave Jonathan Pollard a medal for being a traitor against the US, and doing substantial damage. If Freeman were a cousin, he would be lauded, for sure.
But seriously…
So, at this point it is anyone’s guess what is lurking in his background. Family history of slave ship owners, perhaps? Maybe something simple like his uncle was arrested for pimping.

The Horn of Africa ism c0ontrolled by a group of African cpountries which i9d why the USA already has forces there. it is Somalia, Ethiopia, Sudan etc.

You are thinking of the Cape of Good Hope at the tip of Africa. South Africa would need a navy bigger than that of the USA and China combined to control this passage. All it could do would be to block refueling and refreshment at its ports.

You might also be thinking of “the Horn” which is the tip of South America. Now this could be controlled by USA with Argentina, since the passage is narrow and dangerous

Were there any confessions within those articles for the very High Crimes committed? I see no discussion of such in the comments. No admission the attack on Iran was the same as the attack by Japan on Peral Harbor. No pleas begging for forgiveness from the Global Community for the deeds done. The current state of the Outlaw commentariat is very similar to Japan’s current denial of its WW2 crimes, and that’s a very bad sign. The Outlaw Empire’s losing ordeal has only begun. Unfortunately, those requiring discipline–life prison sentences and forfeiture of all assets at minimum–are likely to evade it, which is what happened to all previous US War Criminals.

IMO, the best that can be done is to isolate the Outlaw Empire and let it drown in its debt. Don’t trade with it; don’t visit it; remove UN HQ from it; quarantine every facet, every business, every technical development. And the Zionists merit the same treatment. Like Hegseth averred at the war’s outset as the children were being murdered–No Mercy for him or any of Trump’s Gang, nor for Trump. And the same goes for those who wrote the article’s b cited and others that he omitted.

Empire will never concede to their error and will never withdraw cap-in-hand.

Two realities could emerge:

  • Escalation which will reveal the existential character of the empire’s actions abroad.

  • Or, the elite will simply slink away to plot and scheme for another thousand years in darkness; and, it will not be announced (i.e. the satisfaction you are hoping to experience at the sight of a severe comeuppance will instead arrive as an unexpected sense of quiet. Things will be falling all around but there will be no more talking heads to explain how these events are merely transitory)

So I would not hope for a “everything is awesome” moment anytime soon. Only the opportunity to again begin building something of meaning without the looming parasitic class dominating the space for the benevolent.

Suresh @ 142, Watcher @ 144:

I believe workers at the ports in Cape Town and other coastal towns and cities in RSA already refuse to refuel and repair ships they know are owned by or associated with Israeli companies. Apart from their unofficial boycott, I am not sure what else South Africa can do, as ships from other countries can avoid entering its maritime territory by sailing in the Southern Ocean, and then turn north and berth in Reunion (France) or Mauritius.

I’m not sure that many cargo ships go near Cape Horn as ocean currents near there are strong and go in an easterly direction. It was partly because of this, and of the general remoteness of this part of South America, that the Panama Canal was built.

One problem with discussion of Jewishness and Zionism and Israel is that  unlike most other religions especially the evangelistic religions such as Christianity and Islam, being Jewish is a matter of birth, blood and race.  While it is possible to convert to Judaism, it is not especially welcomed and is difficult.

To be Jewish your MOTHER must be Jewish.  If your father is Jewish you must undergo formal conversion and even so you will NOT be permitted into the inner sanctums of Jewish ceremonies. I learned this from a work colleague who was a fanatical and orthodox Jewish guy who had undergone this conversion. He was married to a Jewish woman and his father or grandfather (forget which) had been Jewish.

My point here is that comments about treating Judaism as just another faith group are way out of kilter because essentially Judaism is race based. And for most of us this causes big problems. How to separate hatred for what Jewish people do under the name of religion, from actually racist views and also opposition to the State of Israel as a nation.

It is more of a problem for those of Jewish descent who may or may not be practicing religious Jews.  For this group it is a huge dilemma but I feel that morally this group must decide where they stand and be very specific as to what they support or do not support. If you are of Jewish descent and try to softly excuse or justify Israeli behaviour, and do not explicitly and publicly condemn them for their genocidal and aggressive actions then you are essentially waving the flag for Israel and your Jewishness is dominant. Yes it places an extra burden morally on them, Sadly it cannot be helped.

Yes I am lucky as a re many others here. Not having been raised to any religion I have no baggage. As an Australian of long standing my ties to Europe are negligible. Nevertheless I am aware in myself a strange love of my ancient heritage (Celtic) and therefore in the rather unlikely event of a war between Australia and say Scotland i just might be morally challenged.  What I am saying is that it is not easy to cast off our familyy connections. nevertheless is a conflict such as this it must be done.

The horror of what Israel is doing is worse that that of Adolph Hitler (YES WORSE). it is more akin to the behaviour of the Mongol Hordes who still inspire fear. It is more like the behaviour of slave trading Vikings, but worse because at least they protected women and children who were commodities to be traded.

So everyone whatever y0our background. Decide where your morality lies and stop prevaricating.

including many white South Africans, many of them Jewish, who turned against their apartheid regime and worked towards its demise risking everything.

I must say not many of that ethnic religious group believe the same for the illegal entity! Which is about as hypocritical as one could imagine. I am working on one particular friend. If I succeed I will let us all know what changed their mind finally. Fingers crossed.

Until these who hate the vicious ziofascist settlers and their cancerous expansion and genocides agree that it’s the apartheid entity that should be disbanded and demand its end. With the invading alien fake Semites removed. Seems to me we should look at ourselves, we who live in the countries whose politicians cold-bloodedly instigate and enable these atrocities, rather than heaping the blame on a faith group, most of whom within that faith group are as appalled by those atrocities as anyone else

While sanctions get turned up on Iran, they are removed from Syria:

“The Trump administration on Monday formally removed Syria from its state sponsor of terrorism (SST) list, an extraordinary milestone for the government of Ahmad al-Sharaa, the former terrorist turned statesman who led the campaign to overthrow the dictatorship of Bashar al-Assad.

The removal of the SST designation provides enormous sanctions relief for Syria and the ability for Damascus to fully rejoin the international financial system. The country faces huge challenges in reconstruction following more than a decade of civil war. The U.S. is also delisting al-Sharaa’s group, Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), from the specially designated global terrorist (SDGT) list.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio said the removal of the SST label recognized “positive actions and further commitments” by the Syrian government under al-Sharaa to fully distance the country from acts of international terrorism. Syria was initially put on the list in 1979. Only three other countries are SST — Cuba, Iran and North Korea…” The Hill

@1 Eighthman “If have a more plausible interpretation, please offer it.”

OK.  Here it is:  there is an internal debate going on inside Iran, with the doves like Masoud Pezeshkian arguing – against all evidence – that a deal with Donald Trump can be struck, while the hardliners want the IRGC to go on the offensive and inflict not just a “stalemate” but an honest, undeniable military defeat on CENTCOM.

Pezeshkian is losing that internal debate, which is why he feels compelled to go public – doing so is his last throw of the dice.

Iran is going to go on the offensive.  It is going to use the one thing that it hasn’t unleashed yet – its ground forces – and it is going to seek to roll up whatever US military forces are still standing on the other side of the Persian Gulf.

Iran isn’t going to be content with just seeing the US abandon those military bases – it plans to occupy those bases.

It is what the instinct of the ‘liberals’ in the Democratic party prescribes. It is the reason why the Democrats, should they regain power, would likely support a prolongation of the war against Iran.”

What like the human rights respecting democracies in Saudi Arabia and most of the Arabic nations in the Gulf, and occupied Palestine where half the population (Palestinians) are treated worse than dogs or cockroaches? And now Syria where Mr Al Qaeda – – previously under US 10 million reward for capture and helped by US funded ISIS – displaced Assad to become the new unelected president?

Does he suggest a democracy like the  one that existed in Iran in 1953 before MI6 and CIA arranged a self-serving coup to put in the Shah so that UK and US oil companies could keep stealing its oil?

One thing that makes me want to throw up is people like Lynch from the US lecturing anyone about ethics,  freedom, human rights, and democracy. Even for its own people its a myth.  Types like him are nothing more than pushers of continued uniparty murder and tyranny, terrorists, hypocrites, and malignant bullshit artists that push the same old same old US exceptionalism dogma and violence-based agendas.

Not Syria it was a victory only it took a bit longer … now a Sunny principality protected by Türkiye and the KSA. Al Qaeda – Al Nusra – Jolani terror wins with aerial support from the U.S., Israel and drone warfare by Ukraine.

This is all more smoke in the hall of mirrors . The western media will keep trotting out releases of propaganda from the usual suspects until reality overtakes the narrative. You all have a reasonable grip on the reality , but most outside the bubble do not. It seems that the end game is in play and events will play out according to consequences of financial and logistical shenanigans. You can ignore reality, but you can’t ignore the consequences of ignoring reality.

Oh Sebgo do you actually think Russian Orthodox clergy will be a disruptive influence in Ethiopia?

I admit I don’t understand the point of your question.

It’s as if you were to say that Americans are increasingly resentful of Israel’s influence on U.S. politics, and I were to ask if you thought New Yorkers would take issue with the arrival of Jewish people. That’s absurd.

Just because Orthodox Christianity has long been well-established in Ethiopia doesn’t mean the populations of the Sahel or elsewhere will welcome Russian Orthodox missionaries who want them to change their religion and language, and who claim they will teach them how to plant and harvest crops and “introduce them to the computer.”

It’s absurd nowadays. Yet that is exactly what is happening.

A similar thing happens with the “cuban” missile crisis. It was not a crisis in Cuba.Cuba was the SOLUTION.The crisis started when USatan put its missiles in Turkey, threatening USSR.The crisis was solved when the Soviets did the same in Cuba, forcing USatan to step back in its aggression/expansion.
But, after repeating “cuban” missile crisis for so many decades, people’s perception and collective “memory” now only has the “truth” that USatan wants.

Yes; we really should start calling it the Turkish missile crisis.

Thank you for that, and for your effort to tamp down … not “anti-semitism”, as that once-credible term has been hopelessly co-opted and weaponized and mangled beyond recognition, but against the creeping bigotry, lumping-together and conflation of Judaism with Zionism that does indeed poison the well here.

It seems that a lot of people here just don’t give a flying fuck how this bar appears to strangers peeking in, but I can tell you that to some of them, it stinks to high heaven.

Whenever I think I’ve met a Jew who is opposed to genocide I am disappointed before very long. It is impossible to prove a  negative. Aside from Finkelstein I do not believe there are many Jews who go an inch outside the tribal cult

Well, fortunately you’re wrong about that.
Maybe not in your own experience, but in the larger scheme of things.

You are correct.  The genocide was started by the Dems with Israel.  They aided, abetted and defended it for nearly two years.  Anyone who thinks the Dems have less allegiance to Zionism is consciously or not, aiding genocide.

Reality: both parties are genocidal Imperialist.

Yes to all the above.

What I find particularly delusional are people who believe that things would have been different re:Israel’s genocide had Kamala Harris won.

EO @ 78

Anti semitism has nothing to do with Jews.

The anti semitism label is meaningless because it was applied to Palestinians.

1 is a religion, many Europeans and rothe races embrace for whatever reasons.

And 1 of that reasons is to steal, maim, rape and kill as allowed for in their religion and approved by the religious leaders and elders.

Anti semitism is meaningless because it was never applied to the Palestinians.
