War On Iran: – Another TACO – Iran’s Need To Escalate

Once again the U.S. president threatened to bomb Iran to smithereens. Once again he pulled back, while, once again, claiming that Iran was begging for negotiations, which, once again, Iran denied.

Welcome to Monday.

It is the fifth time Trump TACOed on bombing Iran.

Last Saturday, while the U.S. military was getting ready to (again) bomb Iran. Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of Iran, picked up the phone and called up his colleagues in the Arab Gulf states. He read them lists of the individual targets in their countries which Iran would destroy should Trump, for once, do what he promised.

The Gulf countries consulted each other. Mohammad bin Sultan, the Saudi ruler, was chosen to tell Trump – in diplomatese – to shut the fuck up:

HRH the Crown Prince stressed the need to prioritize dialogue to reduce escalation and the importance of making every possible effort to achieve calm that paves the way for diplomatic solutions, preserves the region’s security and stability, and prevents a wider conflict whose repercussions would affect regional and international security and stability.

Without exporting oil Saudi Arabia would not be able to import U.S. weapons. It would have to sell treasuries to finance its living.

Explaining such second order effects might well have been what moved Trump:

The crown prince also asked for clarity over U.S. strategy on Iran and the planned strikes, the officials familiar with the matter said.

Behind the scenes, Gulf countries are frustrated with what they see as a lack of a clear strategy from the U.S. as the war drags on, subjecting their territories to frequent Iranian attacks, people familiar with the matter said.

Not everyone has yet come to their senses:

Not all Gulf countries are pushing for de-escalation. Some, such as the United Arab Emirates, have lobbied Trump in recent days to take more decisive action against Iran, according to senior Gulf officials familiar with the discussion. The officials have suggested Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps won’t compromise until the U.S. escalates, takes control over the strait and perhaps considers ground operations.

The UAE itself, despite having bought a bunch of Israeli weapons, is unable to defend itself. Its rulers seem to be in need of some serious whacking.

The U.S. can not take control of the Strait. It does not have the manpower needed for the necessary ground operation. Its military is out of ideas:

“We are looking for new creative and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran,” an officer in US Central Command’s intelligence branch wrote in a message sent Wednesday to a broad group of military analysts, according to a source familiar with the message. A second source also said that a senior US military officer sent the message last week soliciting new ideas for how to deal with Iran.

Both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency have recently assessed that the kind of bombing the US is carrying out is unlikely to shift the Iranian negotiating position, CNN has reported.

The president’s most senior military adviser, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, has acknowledged publicly that bombing alone is unlikely to accomplish all Trump’s previously stated objectives for the war.

“Air power has its limits,” Caine told lawmakers last month.

It is Iran which has escalation dominance. The U.S. has pulled out from the Kurdish region In Iraq. Its troops have left Kuwait and Bahrain. Iran has already hit Jordan, where some U.S. troops have moved to. Those U.S. troops who have moved into Israel are next on the menu.

Iran no longer believes in a peace deal. It is content to keep going until the U.S. fundamentally changes its hostile strategy.

But Iran is unlikely to wait for the U.S. next strike. It will instead soon start its own escalation. There will be more ‘surprises’ for U.S. ships and installations.

The Strait of Hormuz will stay closed. Additionally the Bab al-Mandab exit from the Red Sea is closed for Saudi exports. Iran will keep it that way until the economic consequences will make themselves felt more urgently in Donald Trump’s own country.

That may still take awhile as we have yet to reach ‘tank bottom’:

The tank bottoms narrative misjudges two critical factors. First, it glosses over the huge accumulation of oil stocks in China over the last decade that today provides an impressive cushion. Before the war broke out, Beijing had more than 1,400 million barrels in strategic stocks; since then it has drawn, perhaps, about 100 million barrels or so. China still has plenty in reserve to keep its imports below pre-war levels.

The second problem with the tank bottoms narrative is that it exaggerates the depletion of the strategic reserves held by rich nations. … [They] still have another billion barrels or so held in reserve for future disbursement if the disruption continues. Japan and South Korea, in particular, have plentiful inventories.

Then again – you don’t want to run reserves to zero.

Besides – the not-so-rich countries with no reserves are the ones getting screwed by this.

There is no predicting when and how this might end. A week or two from now me may see a repeat of the same story. New threats by Trump, new counter threats, and another TACO.

The man-child in the White House it out of options but also too stubborn to give in.

They took Syria quite easily of course: But so then where did Syria’s orginal fighters go? Across the borders? Integrated quietly into the ‘new’ Syria? Where are they? What side might they be on? Who are they working for?

Ah, I see everyone got the new memo.

As is evident from certain media outlets and our resident MoA trolls, the “experts” have decided it is time, once again, to accuse Iranian leaders of treason.

It is yet another attempt at regime change through slander and defamation, hoping to sow internal discord.

Apparently, someone forgot to tell them that this has already been tried in Iran, to no avail.

It hasn’t worked in Russia over the past four years either. It just cost “the cook,” Prigozhin, everything he had.
They’ve tried it in China and Venezuela, too, with zero success.

It just goes to show they are truly running out of ideas.

The MoA bar cranks who make it their mission to gleefully jump on any smear campaign will, of course, parrot this line in unison.

What is hard to understand is why well-meaning people help them spread this kind of baseless poison.

Even if there’s any truth to the Pezeshkian/CENTCOM rumor, why would the only explanation be treason? Careful targeting and ramping up has been a genius part of Iran’s  war effort thus far. Do people here think a total wipeout of the US local command would have gone unanswered? Just how much Iranian blood are y’all looking to sacrifice for your war against the empire?

US indexes are setting new highs and oil is selling off as if something meaningful has happened. As predicted some weeks ago.

Now that oil has sufficiently succumbed to taco, it is time to saber rattle once more, and right on queue trump has laid down his paper gauntlet and set an ultimatum for today, Tuesday.

But as noted before, this is a setup for a suddenly positive oil price move which will signal the actual price and supply predicament on the ground. Sometime next week, Friday perhaps.

Just think speculation is running rampant.  The war is just starting,  it has 2-5 years of running its course.

Iran took out Centcom’s 1.1 billion $ “eyes” first/2nd day of this.

What good is “Centcom” with zero military bases in the region to overseer & direct?

Israel:  The “internal” strife is all time level.  Reports of those 100 Al Golani special ops guys walk-out,  was not about wearing emblems or stupid shit, rumor has it that they are infiltrated with IDF spies.  This is their story.  They report their movements and assignments are being sent to Iran.  That IDF soldiers are selling info.

Only 2 things make sense (maybe more)

  1. The rumors are true. The IDF is infiltrated as well as communication lines ect
  2. Hezbollah has the greatest intelligence alive, and isn’t part of Iran.

In any event, this walk off and these complaints wouldn’t be occurring if the Golani Brigade was being successful.
Obviously they’re getting their asses handed to them on their “special missions”.

Israel overall, politically is currently a wrecking ball.
278, 000 Israelis have departed the Country for 3 months or more (so no data on returns I could find) since 2023…
Thats 1/4 mil gone.
Things are so fluid,  USReal may be here today, and gone tomorrow, either way, there are just some things that are inevitable, and the shake out is truly just beginning.

It need only be uttered by one or more of the glitterati of the alt-media, the lesser ones then repeat and reinforce and before long it’s ‘breaking news’ to be discussed endlessly (Exhibit A: Iran’s already extant nuclear bomb, which has already disappeared without trace…).

On a similar note, I was watching Mario Nawfal the other day talking to John Kiriakou the other day on the subject of influencers taking money from spooks to push a particular narrative. Against my better judgement, I admit, as I find Nawfal very ambiguous at best.

It got worse as he started dropping hints about his seemingly extensive team, and his security detail and what the local Emirati(?) intelligence agencies said to him. I have to wonder who Nawfal really is…

Whie we cannot “know” for certain what is going on without inside information in real time combined with an ability to evaluate the information, we can make reasonable inferences based upon careful study of those involved and past experience.  The notion that US missile stockpiles are critically low is most likely mostly fake news designed to undercut deterrence and sap morale among the American people.  The Trump Administration has tried to push back on this but it is very difficult to overcome the bully pulpit.  Furthermore Iran’s military capability is likely much more depleted than is generally known.  Additionally, during the lull US military planners will have planned meticulously on how to defend the “allies” and will have numerous contingency plans in place.  The defenses will likely be 99.99999% effective should things escalate.  I don’t think Iran will “escalate.”  They will probably try and continue with their current psyops campaign through their surrogates to try and get the US to concede to them what Iran would be unable to take by force.  Also, Iran may try attacks that they think will fall just below the threshold of something that would bring about a decisive response.

A high-ranking Iranian religious figure, Mohammad-Baqer Kharrazi, who is also a relative of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, stated in an interview:

The Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, plans to replace the head of the Supreme National Security Council, Mohammad-Baqer Zolghadr, with his high-ranking military aide, Mohsen Rezai.

Ayatollah Khamenei warned the President of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, that if he resigns again, his resignation will be accepted. Following this warning, Pezeshkian and other high-ranking officials backed down from their position.

Recently, there have been unofficial reports of tensions between President Masoud Pezeshkian and more hardline factions within Iran’s leadership, particularly over negotiations with the United States.

It has been refuted as Iranintl reports

Khamenei’s office denies his in-law’s claim about Pezeshkian resignations

The office of Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei denied as “entirely false” a claim by one of his relatives who quoted him as saying he would accept President Masoud Pezeshkian’s resignation if it were submitted again.
A video released Monday showed senior cleric Mohammad-Bagher Kharrazi, a relative of Khamenei by marriage, saying that Pezeshkian had threatened to resign “28 times” but stopped after Mojtaba Khamenei warned that his next resignation would be accepted.
“In recent days, remarks attributed to the Supreme Leader have circulated on social media, regrettably causing public anxiety and fueling division and discord in society,” Khamenei’s office said.
The statement said the office is the official source for publishing messages, news and other material related to Khamenei, adding that any material published outside this framework is “unauthenticated and cannot be considered accurate.”
“In his messages, including his most recent one, the Supreme Leader has emphasized the need to preserve sacred unity and respect conscientious officials and those serving the Islamic Republic, particularly the esteemed government,” the statement said.
“Material that runs counter to the Leader’s repeated recommendations, creates division and polarization in society, and gives rise to false claims against respected officials serves the objectives of the ill-wishers and sworn enemies of the Iranian nation.”

MoU and the Fate of Lebanon

In response to the letter of allegiance and loyalty of the Secretary General and the faithful and brave fighters of Hezbollah, Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, referred to the pioneering role of Hezbollah in the fight against the Zionist enemy and its inspiration for the free nations of the world in liberating themselves from the oppression of global arrogance, and emphasized the continuation of Iran’s strategic policy in defending the Lebanese Mujahideen, noting: The Islamic Republic of Iran has made preserving the territorial integrity of Lebanon and completely and unconditionally eliminating the Zionist regime’s aggression the first condition of the memorandum of understanding to end the imposed war with the aggressor America.

The full text of the Leader of the Revolution’s response to the letter from Hezbollah fighters is as follows:

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

“O you who have believed, fight those who surround you from the infidels, and let them find in you a grudge…”(1)

The Honorable Imam of Islam and the Muslims, Sheikh Naeem Qassem, may God have mercy on him

The Honorable Secretary General of Hezbollah in Lebanon and all the brave, patient and resistant commanders and fighters of Hezbollah
Peace be upon you all and may God have mercy on you

[…]

Peace be upon you all and may God’s mercy be upon you

In conclusion, I hope that with the blessings of the good prayers of our Lord, may God hasten his return, may all kinds of divine graces and favors be bestowed upon all the fighters, martyrs, and veterans of the resistance and May the emigrants and their patient families be blessed.

“And We desire to have mercy on those who are oppressed in the land, and to make them a nation, and to make them heirs.”(3)

Peace, mercy, and blessings of God be upon you.

In Western forums, you have to speak in a certain way, at the UN, or at MoA.

That certainly does not indicate a rift in opinion, it indicates different contexts.

As for the Muslim vassals of the Zionist Empire, there is not one of them that opposed the Zionist Genocide in Palestine.
They are all, without exception, except for Erdoğan,  Aoun-style Zionist goons.

Erdoğan recognises and agrees with Turkish public opinion, while having to play  Western Games .

The other vassals,  whose money is confiscated by the US, to be used as financial leverage against  US spiralling debt, have neither balls, nor principles, nor empathy nor Justice.

Every single one of the Arab vassals did nothing for the Palestinians , until Trump had to put the out of the embarrassment by taking nominal responsibility for Gaza while greenlighting the genocide of the West Bank.

What the Arabs fail to understand,  at their peril, is that the opinion of their populations,  and the populations of democracies everywhere, are shared in private by every Democratic  politician.
The tyrants  are completely isolated.
They seem to think that being tyrants gives them the power to engage their armies against the Shi’a Axis of Resistance.

What will actually happen is that these non democratic tyrants will all be ousted, one by one, for their total arrogance in actively  supporting their Bankers ,  USUKIS, for entirely selfish reasons and compelling their populations to fight and suffer for their personal greed.

All of these Arab despots will be destroyed.

The western states of the U.S. have no SPR reserves, all four Strategic Petroleum Reserve sites sit on the Gulf Coast in Texas and Louisiana, with zero capacity anywhere west of the Rockies. What pipeline capacity does exist across the Rockies runs one direction only, moving crude from Wyoming and Colorado eastward toward the Midwest and Gulf Coast, not westward into California, Oregon, or Washington. The western states are therefore left almost entirely dependent on ocean-borne tanker deliveries. California’s situation is further complicated by the fact that Phillips 66’s Los Angeles refinery and Valero’s Benicia refinery have both shut down in the past year, cutting the state’s refining capacity by roughly 17-20%, resulting in a need to import a comparable share of finished petroleum products.

I suggest reading Mojtaba’s Telegram and website directly both of which are in English. This is the Farsi language site that has the most information. At the latter is an editorial, “The United States must accept defeat.” The Farsi website mentions a Voice of Iran online newspaper and states further “THIS ONLINE NEWSPAPER IS PUBLISHED EVERY NIGHT AT AROUND 22:00 ON KHAMENEI MEDIA. IR.” The problem I encountered was no editorial section despite the claim by Khamenei Media. So, the waters are muddied, although there’s much to explore for those having the time.

Suggestion #1) Beam reruns of Trump’s tv show, The Apprentice, onto every broadcast channel in Iran, 24/7.   Suggestion #2) Have Trump voluntarily, for the good of our nation and the world, go to Tehran to stand trial.

***”go after the international elite/oligarchs. The true target is not really the militaries (pawns) or politicians (front men)… it’s the monied elites.  Wipe them out and confiscate their ill-gotten loot.  Do this worldwide.”

Yes, the two pancakes on the griddle merged into one as I’ve already argued. The question is how to flip it over–divide it back into two or subdivide it even further or keep it whole and hope it remains that way once overturned. I’m working on an essay dealing with the historical why that’s driving the conflicts. Wolff provided an interesting POV in his chat with Diesen.

Be assured that almost everything from these sources is a lie.

Just a few examples.

Trump tells the world that Iran has asked him for ceasefire, or for peace negotiations, or for peace => Forget it.

Trump tells the world that he is ready to bomb Iran back to the stone age => Forget it.

MSM tells the world that according to sources close to the Iranian leaders, Iran is falling apart => Forget it.

MSM tells the world that very good sources have told them that some very important high up Iranian governmental official really is friends with the US and will use his influence to protect his US friends => Forget it.

Got it? Not a shred of truth.

🇺🇸 Tucker Carlson, Thomas Massie, Marjorie Taylor Greene, and Joe Kent have announced the formation of a new anti-war movement in the United States.Their position is uncompromising: no new wars abroad, no regime changes, no American soldiers or money for conflicts that have nothing to do with the security of the United States itself. The movement’s goal is to restore the true meaning of the slogan “America First.” That is, the money should be spent not on missiles and bases thousands of miles away from America, but on the border, industry, jobs, and infrastructure within the country. They plan to unite conservatives, liberals, and centrists. They intend to enter politics, work in midterm elections, and create an alternative to the Republican establishment, which is increasingly turning into a club of supporters of yet another war.For the “Make America Great Again” (MAGA) movement, this is no longer just a debate. It’s a split on a fundamental issue.Trump built his campaign on the promise to end endless wars. That’s why millions of people, tired of Iraq, Afghanistan, and Syria, supported him. And then came Iran.Carlson, Greene, Massie, and Kent say that the president has broken the main agreement with his voters. MAGA is not just Trump’s personal brand; it’s a specific program. If you abandon it, all that will be left is a sign.Within the movement, there are now two camps. One is ready to support Trump regardless of his decisions. The other believes that America should not once again pay with blood and trillions of dollars for someone else’s war.And this second camp is already taking shape as an independent political force.

Karl, I see that ChatNPC replied already. Thanks Chat.
As mentioned in the wiki page the calendar was designed in 11th century by polymath Omar Khayyam (here he is again, james).
The calendar is base on the Georgian calendar. The wiki does not mention this little factoid, but I read somewhere that it is seven times more accurate than the Georgian calendar because Omar used two extra decimal points in his calculations.
The Georgian calendar goes out of whack once every 5000 years, but Omar’s once every 35000 years.

On Arba’een, today

Arba’een (number 40 in Arabic), the holiest of the holy days in Shia Islam is the ceremony commemorating 40th day of martyrdom of Imam Hossein(AS), in Karbala, 680 AD. Some 20+ million will be there to observe.

Word is that you can’t get any closer than 10KM to Imam Hossein’s moseleom. It is considered an honor to provide free food and water to the pilgrims.

Millions of people from across the world will undertake an 80-kilometer walk between the holy cities of Najaf and Karbala. – Some crawl on their chest.

Jo: thanks for bringing this to the bar’s attention. I read about this a month ago, and I’ll be watching the progress closely. I see these possible “futures”  for this new Anti-War (re-branded MAGA) party:

a. It’s yet another sheep-dog, herding the American nationalists down another blind alley, diffusing the outrage or kicking the rebellion can down the road a few more years, or

b. It’ll die a crib-death, suffocated by insufficient resources. The oligarchs want war, their useful idiots the Christian Zionists want war, and the balance of financial resources heavily favors the incumbents in Congress, or

c. This is forward-positioning of a political stance – it’s brand-building – that will be crucial once the full effect of economic dislocation, loss of global power, and full-on repression by the oligarchs to cover their tracks and keep the sheep penned kicks in. “We built the political coalition that provided the path forward for The People!”. That’s a good brand, good psychological positioning. The Kent-Carlson-Green-Massie organization is currently too weak to do anything except “be the alternative”. That they can, and should do right now

If you examine the credentials of the lead players – Carlson, Greene, Massie and Kent – none has built a political machine, and none has the deep bench of senior strategists and relationships in place to do the job. That has to get built – recruited, trained, integrated into the “team”.  I noted that the plan is to win congressional primaries. Great; that’s a good strategy  … and it needs the people that can execute that strategy. Behind the scenes, in back of the billboard of talking heads … is there a team evolving? I can’t tell yet.

This  is where the flash-in-the-pans lose it:  they can’t recruit the team and therefore can’t recruit the money.

So this turns of the linchpin – the pivot point … of all those good people that have been sitting on the sidelines, wringing their hands in dismay. They may decide to get off the bench and do something. Those people, many of whom are old, have the skills and money to get things done.

As a side-note, relevant here: I recently read here at MoA something like this: “revolutions are actually fomented and executed by a new batch of elites trying to unseat the old batch of elites”. I wonder if there’s actually a sufficient cohort of “new elites”. For all you US Americans, are their names springing to mind? I can’t think of all that many.

“Southern route of the strait of Hormuz remains open, according to CENTCOM’s new claim”

They speak as if Iran was trying to build a gate there.

That statement also fits with Trump’s idea of implementing an Iron Wall, presumably to stop that gate being built ?

So far the Iron Wall appears to be of intercepting 5thou dollar drones with multimillion dollar ships, which is consistent with various other expenditure ratios, for example missile interceptors vs cheaper rockets.

It is an ambitious venture all the same, with the time it would take for a pile of sunken ships to build up and afford some kind above surface protection being hardly measurable.

IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said late last month that Iran’s missile production increased during the ceasefire, while missile accuracy had improved using the knowledge gained in battle. The IRGC has not disclosed any information about its stockpiles of weapons, or the extent of damage inflicted against the country’s domestic arms production capacities or air defences……

—❗️🇺🇸/🇮🇷 BREAKING: The U.S. military has depleted nearly 80% of its THAAD missile interceptors in the war with Iran, sources tell CNN

The U.S. has also used up roughly half of its Patriot interceptor missiles, seriously limiting the capability to intercept Iranian ballistic missiles fired at Gulf states and Israel.

The Pentagon has warned President Trump repeatedly in recent weeks that the low stockpiles could carry serious consequences in any new round of prolonged fighting with Iran.

This concept is echoed by Peter Turchin where the current fetisishisation of credentials leads to elite overproduction. In short, too many graduates chasing too few graduate level jobs – the traditional entry route to the economic elites. Some of them will be genuinely talented and will provide the dry tinder to usurp the current, exhausted elite class.

@292 Chat/Tom

Possibly the quote:

“The grand tragedy is that even a revolution will be led not by the downtrodden and the poor, but by other corrupt elites who simply can’t get their slice of the pie.

As it is with all revolutions …

— 🇺🇸/🇮🇷/🇴🇲 NEW: According to the Wall Street Journal, Iran has made a few additional demands for opening the Strait of Hormuz under Iranian management in partnership with Oman

– An immediate end to the U.S. naval blockade.
– The lifting of U.S. sanctions on Iranian oil, petrochemical products, and gas.
– An explicit acknowledgement of Iran’s right to collect maritime fees.

Besides all this, Iran will have full control over inbound traffic into the Strait of Hormuz, and supervision over outbound traffic through Omani waters.

There’s no point in responding to the zio-slave catdog. The creature is desperate because its zio-masters are getting their asses handed to them by the resistance so all it can do now is throw shit at the wall and hope something sticks.

As for all the concern trolling regarding some members of the Iranian leadership committing treason, the country has historically never presented a united political front to the outside world so that its enemies can’t be certain of what is actually happening internally. If anyone has any doubt that Iran has a coherent plan that it’s been successfully carrying out over the past five months, then you either haven’t been paying attention or you’re a moron.

US used ‘virtually all’ long-range precision missiles during Iran war, sources say

The U.S. Army has used up much of its stockpile of highly accurate long-range missiles during America’s five-month war with Iran, according to three people familiar with the data, raising concerns about the military’s readiness for future conflicts.

The missiles are principally the Army’s surface-to-surface weapons, known as Army Tactical Missile Systems (ATACMS) and Precision Strike Missiles (PrSM). The U.S. has used “virtually all” of these weapons, according to two of the sources.

The degree to which the military is running out of ATACMS and Precision Strike Missiles has not been previously reported……

….The sources declined to say how many of each munition the U.S. had left……A fourth person familiar with the matter said that while Central Command — which oversees U.S. forces in the Middle East — has nearly used up the land-based missiles it had before the war began, it has been able to reload from U.S. military supplies elsewhere in the world…..

…..Last week, several media outlets reported Trump had decided not to launch another massive offensive inside Iran in part because his military advisers had warned about the U.S. stockpile.
A U.S. official disputed those accounts, saying Trump chose not to move forward with another attack because of pressure from Gulf states…..
