War On Iran: – Another TACO – Iran’s Need To Escalate

Once again the U.S. president threatened to bomb Iran to smithereens. Once again he pulled back, while, once again, claiming that Iran was begging for negotiations, which, once again, Iran denied.

Welcome to Monday.

It is the fifth time Trump TACOed on bombing Iran.

Last Saturday, while the U.S. military was getting ready to (again) bomb Iran. Abbas Araghchi, the foreign minister of Iran, picked up the phone and called up his colleagues in the Arab Gulf states. He read them lists of the individual targets in their countries which Iran would destroy should Trump, for once, do what he promised.

The Gulf countries consulted each other. Mohammad bin Sultan, the Saudi ruler, was chosen to tell Trump – in diplomatese – to shut the fuck up:

HRH the Crown Prince stressed the need to prioritize dialogue to reduce escalation and the importance of making every possible effort to achieve calm that paves the way for diplomatic solutions, preserves the region’s security and stability, and prevents a wider conflict whose repercussions would affect regional and international security and stability.

Without exporting oil Saudi Arabia would not be able to import U.S. weapons. It would have to sell treasuries to finance its living.

Explaining such second order effects might well have been what moved Trump:

The crown prince also asked for clarity over U.S. strategy on Iran and the planned strikes, the officials familiar with the matter said.

Behind the scenes, Gulf countries are frustrated with what they see as a lack of a clear strategy from the U.S. as the war drags on, subjecting their territories to frequent Iranian attacks, people familiar with the matter said.

Not everyone has yet come to their senses:

Not all Gulf countries are pushing for de-escalation. Some, such as the United Arab Emirates, have lobbied Trump in recent days to take more decisive action against Iran, according to senior Gulf officials familiar with the discussion. The officials have suggested Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps won’t compromise until the U.S. escalates, takes control over the strait and perhaps considers ground operations.

The UAE itself, despite having bought a bunch of Israeli weapons, is unable to defend itself. Its rulers seem to be in need of some serious whacking.

The U.S. can not take control of the Strait. It does not have the manpower needed for the necessary ground operation. Its military is out of ideas:

“We are looking for new creative and unconventional ways to pressure and punish Iran,” an officer in US Central Command’s intelligence branch wrote in a message sent Wednesday to a broad group of military analysts, according to a source familiar with the message. A second source also said that a senior US military officer sent the message last week soliciting new ideas for how to deal with Iran.

Both the Central Intelligence Agency and the Defense Intelligence Agency have recently assessed that the kind of bombing the US is carrying out is unlikely to shift the Iranian negotiating position, CNN has reported.

The president’s most senior military adviser, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Dan Caine, has acknowledged publicly that bombing alone is unlikely to accomplish all Trump’s previously stated objectives for the war.

“Air power has its limits,” Caine told lawmakers last month.

It is Iran which has escalation dominance. The U.S. has pulled out from the Kurdish region In Iraq. Its troops have left Kuwait and Bahrain. Iran has already hit Jordan, where some U.S. troops have moved to. Those U.S. troops who have moved into Israel are next on the menu.

Iran no longer believes in a peace deal. It is content to keep going until the U.S. fundamentally changes its hostile strategy.

But Iran is unlikely to wait for the U.S. next strike. It will instead soon start its own escalation. There will be more ‘surprises’ for U.S. ships and installations.

The Strait of Hormuz will stay closed. Additionally the Bab al-Mandab exit from the Red Sea is closed for Saudi exports. Iran will keep it that way until the economic consequences will make themselves felt more urgently in Donald Trump’s own country.

That may still take awhile as we have yet to reach ‘tank bottom’:

The tank bottoms narrative misjudges two critical factors. First, it glosses over the huge accumulation of oil stocks in China over the last decade that today provides an impressive cushion. Before the war broke out, Beijing had more than 1,400 million barrels in strategic stocks; since then it has drawn, perhaps, about 100 million barrels or so. China still has plenty in reserve to keep its imports below pre-war levels.

The second problem with the tank bottoms narrative is that it exaggerates the depletion of the strategic reserves held by rich nations. … [They] still have another billion barrels or so held in reserve for future disbursement if the disruption continues. Japan and South Korea, in particular, have plentiful inventories.

Then again – you don’t want to run reserves to zero.

Besides – the not-so-rich countries with no reserves are the ones getting screwed by this.

There is no predicting when and how this might end. A week or two from now me may see a repeat of the same story. New threats by Trump, new counter threats, and another TACO.

The man-child in the White House it out of options but also too stubborn to give in.

Comments

Trump is exactly doing what he is supposed to do, altough he might not know it.I see all this as part of the war of billionaires against the rest of humanity. And therefore they might be behind the plan but everything on track.  Big global crisis where a crazy old man in the white house can be claimed is perfect to mask the overdue reset of financal system.https://www.nytimes.com/2006/11/26/business/yourmoney/26every.htmlhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KfmCwvVeRak

If there ever was any doubt, Trump has the double whammy of dementia superimposed on a malignant narcissism personality disorder. He, in turn, inflicts his condition upon the world. The 25th amendment to the U.S. Constitution allows for a disabled president to be removed from office, but that would require action from Trump’s close advisers as well as the Republican-dominated Congress. Fat chance of that happening.

From an attraction/courtship/psychological standpoint, I recall reading, once upon a time, that many people are not just attracted to physical and personal attributes per se, but also to… unsure how they put it… their ‘personal issues’. So, insofar as we might be wrecked in a certain way, so another might be attracted to us with that certain wreck. And, let’s face it, we all eventually get wrecked at the end of our lives, with ‘end’ being the operative term.

To apply this ‘wreck’ theory to this particular avenue (MoA), do you prefer whiskey, beer, wine straight-up, or with some kind of mix of those with non-alcoholic ingredients, like a Long Island Iced Tea, Sangria or Golden Cadillac? Do you have it with a cigarette? With ice? Cheese puffs?

Its interesting that Trump and his cronies are building massive piles of money in an economy that has severe debt issues . The manipulation of the stock market and futures markets isn’t even being hidden effectively. The current bubbles will eventually pop and massive amounts of assets will become devalued. Inflation is going up in virtually every economy, and it will  devalue debt (and assets when demand destruction occurs). The stock market will collapse when it has been pillaged to the point when its impossible to hide . The automation of trading will see it collapse in minutes as the algorithms attempt to sell , and the manipulators short everything. When the government receipts crater the bond market will become a big problem and creating more money will not help as it will fuel hyperinflation. Interesting times ahead.

Israel has rejected the Phase 2 procedure announced last week by Trump and his Board of Peace.
According to Israeli media, Israel has now iterated new “red lines” –

  • Complete operational freedom to carry out military actions anywhere in Gaza.
  • Continued Israeli control over weapons inside the Strip.
  • No Israeli withdrawal unless Hamas is completely disarmed.

Of course, many pretend that $ ≠ Land. It’s a simple notion, really, that $ ≠ Land.

Possibly, among the first thing that new governments do to fix the system when they get into power in some kinds of feudal or neo-feudal setups is to ‘redistribute land’.

Hugo Chavez may have done it in Venezuela, for example, along with Fidel Castro in Cuba and apparently in South Africa too,  maybe even still.

Excellent analysis of Trump, Abe.

Overall, remember what George Szamuely often reminds us of, that the zioglobalist managers are trying to play a long game to somehow ‘win’ the Iran fukup. And that long game is to devalue the Strait of Hormuz by making new shipping routes and/or pipelines not dependent on the Gulf. But is that possible in six months, or even in 2-3-4 years? The shortest distance is the UAE pipeline to Fujairah, but Iran can and has repeatedly hit that.

I’ll take your escalation and upgrade it to something humanity has rarely done: go after the international elite/oligarchs. The true target is not really the militaries (pawns) or politicians (front men)… it’s the monied elites.  Wipe them out and confiscate their ill-gotten loot.  Do this worldwide. Not a permanent solution, but breathing space to create systems that retard the emergence of a new billionaire cohort.

This Iran war is for the US what Stalingrad was for Nazi Germany in late 1942, early 1943. There is another similarity with Stalingrad. Nazi Germany already lost WW II in 1941 due to a number of strategic military decisions made by the german high command and Adolf Hitler.

By placing all those US military bases so close to Iran, those bases had no “streategic depth” (anymore). Starting in the 1980s the US started building all those military bases in the Middle East. Without enough “strategic depth”. That was in hindsight the moment the US started to lose the Iran war of 2026.

The grand tragedy is that even a revolution will be led not by the downtrodden and the poor, but by other corrupt elites who simply can’t get their slice of the pie.

As it is with all revolutions …

Every year, for the past two decades I get run through a training programme for AML, anti-insider trading and anti-corruption, then made to sign a pledge not to commit any of these crimes.

… and then I look at my news feed and find that all of this is permitted for our rulers – as long as they keep up the sacrifices to Mammon.

The heavy amount of missile/drone strikes Iran has concentrated on US-backed Kurd militias in Iraq, along with alleged Iranian special force ground ops suggests a ground component was/is being prepared by the US as part of its long-term strategy against Iran – and Iran is trying to disrupt it.

The real question is will it be enough.

[…]

This is the equivalent of the US “Extending Russia” strategy for Iran.

The Kurds are now working together with Jolani for the interest of the empire. They will fight Iran both covertly and openly. Just like the Arabs.

Ivanka is the most important person in Trump’s life. Her husband Jared Kushner was de facto US president during Trump 1.0, was campaign manager of Trump’s lavishly funded but failed 2020 campaign (and cancelled tv ads in crucial swing states), also the busy years between Trump 1.0 and 2.0, and is de facto president of Trump 2.0. Kushner was openly scornful of 2016 Trump voters. Bibi visited Jared’s parents’ home in New Jersey when Jared was a child. Jared gave up his bedroom so Bibi would have a comfortable place to sleep.

The endless smoke and mirrors of the US-Israel Axis continue with this latest announcement of a “disarmament plan” for the resistance in Palestine. It will go nowhere. Don’t lose sight of the facts: The Axis is fully committed to the eradication of the last remnants of Palestinian life in Palestine.

Trump’s “Board of Peace” is part of this goal. The genocide continues to rage in both Gaza and the West Bank. The Israeli regime has no intention of withdrawing from any of Palestine. And people will always resist occupation, apartheid, and genocide, as is their right. Stay focused on isolating the regime, on holding its perpetrators to account, and on freeing Palestine.

ALL Mainstream Western Institutions View Palestinian Lives As Worthless
“I mean, it is a bit rich watching a BBC reporter act shocked and offended by somebody saying they think Jewish lives are worth more than Palestinian lives.”

The BBC recently interviewed an Israeli settler who said that all the Palestinians in four surrounding villages should be exterminated to avenge an Israeli who was killed while terrorizing a Palestinian village last month, adding that just a single Jewish life is worth ten million Palestinian lives.

“I think now after they kill one Israeli people, we need to kill all the people in Tal and Sarra, even Jit and Farata,” lawyer Yehuda Shimon told the BBC.

“It sounds like you’re saying one Jewish life is worth hundreds or thousands of Palestinian lives,” replied the BBC’s Lucy Williamson in the interview.

“Million,” Shimon corrected her. “One Jewish life, it’s ten million, okay?”

“That just sounds racist,” Williamson responded, to which Shimon replied, “Yes, I know, I know. But this is the truth.”……

…..That’s why the western press expressed disproportionately more shock and horror at October 7 than the far more egregious Israeli abuses which led up to it and the far more egregious Israeli abuses which followed. It’s why you saw howling outrage at the Bondi shooting in Sydney last year when the same number of Palestinians getting killed on any given day in Gaza never even makes a blip in the news…..

…..This is because all mainstream western media outlets hold the same racist opinions about Palestinians as those that were voiced by Yehuda Shimon. So do all mainstream western political parties. So do all other mainstream western institutions. So do all supporters of the state of Israel. They all believe Jewish lives are worth more than Palestinian lives, as evidenced by the policies they support and the news stories they pay attention to.……….

The crowdsourcing-style query, which military officials said was unusual over email, is one sign of the limited — and potentially unpalatable —options available to Trump to force Iran into a deal on his terms. Hoping to find an alternative, the official at CENTCOM kicked off the brainstorming session via email to see if anyone had a better idea. The second source said CENTCOM is looking at everything, acknowledging it needs to reevaluate the strategy.

“it needs to reevaluate the strategy” – that’s one way of putting it.

.
<= the easiest way to wipe out Billionaires is to prevent transfers of wealth from the estate of the Billionaire to the next generation. Subject 100% of transfers of the “billionaire estate” to a 110% (gift and at death) tax.  I suggest the place to start is the UN.. Forget the individual nation members, create a global tax on wealth transfers between generations. This makes everyone a citizen of the world, instead of a victim to the whims of those who lead a nation state..

.
Top down governance without bottom up control and oversight will always produce an Epstein class.  Without bottom up rule making, oversight authority, and policing effort the rising Epstein class will demote to subordinate classes all those who are subject to its governance.

.
Just look at any corporation..  ASAE corporation starts to make real money,  an Epstein class develops at the top.. Corporate assets, privilege and extraction of corporate benefits gravitate to the top.. Corporate jets, club memberships, luxury parties, privileged parking spaces. private secretaries, luxury domestic and global distribution of private getaway estates and global travel accompanied, mostly at corporate expense, by family and friends.. In government its the same. why should the leader be paid more than the producer.. The reorganization that is needed is for the bottom up to make the laws and rules, set the goals, and select the governors.  The top down should be charged with enforcing the rules, meeting the goals, and training the next group of governors.  The bottom up should run the courts, do the policing and do the prosecuting.

Oui @157:

Wrong. That 75 million is our hope for fundamental change; for “singularity” is you will. They are the ones who defied the Establishment narratives and mass media/academia hard sell and chose to act in a manner contrary to their programming. They are proof that at least a portion of the population are not just meat robots downloading their daily program updates from Hollywood and Madison Ave. Breaking free of the mind control is not the end of the revolution, it is the start.

As for the Democrats, I am afraid you completely misunderstand their function. Let’s try a metaphor. You ever drive on steep mountainous roads with lots of heavy commercial vehicles? You might occasionally notice strange forks in the road on steep downgrades where you get a few hundred yards of what looks like road splitting off from the main road, but instead of pavement the fork will be deep, loose gravel. These are for vehicles that have failed brakes to more safely crash out, since the vehicle’s tires will sink in the gravel and slow the runaway vehicle to a stop.

That’s what the Democrats are for the capitalist system. If any movements in society start building up steam, the Democrats are the “runaway ramp” to safely (for capitalism) bog those movements down, kill their momentum, and guide those movements into dead-end kayfabe politics.

The present corruption in US politics is a long time coming …

That corruption is a feature, not a bug. It has been there all along. You need to pay more attention to karlof1’s posts.

– John Mearsheimer points out that like Trump, Netanyahu is in deep trouble. He is caught between US pressure and domestic israeli politicians. People like Ben-Gvir and Smotrich and other right wing israeli politicians want to continue the attacks on Iran. Ben-Gvir and Smotrich are able to blow up the current israeli at any moment. Then Netanyahu will likely end up in jail. I certainly think that Ben-Gvir and Smotrich can make sure Netanyahu will spend A LONG LONG time behind bars.
– In that regard the war against Iran has made Trump’s and Netanyahu’s position “(very) weak”. When will these people “leave office” either “voluntarily” or “involutarily” ?

Venezuelan stock market was breaking records every day and week too when money was printed to buy domestic bonds.

If there’s an excess of money, it will always flow to more ‘riskier’ long-duration assets like stocks before bonds. The same mechanism works on QE in the US, banks buy bonds, central bank buys the bonds off the banks and gives them capital, which the banks invest in riskier long duration assets. Because why hold bonds if the risk assets are backstopped by the central bank.

Of course, until they aren’t…

Just to remind everyone that any kind of land invasion is a science fiction. When the empire invaded IRAQ to take out the regime, they were deploying troops trough their forward bases for months, what do you think Iranians would just watch them do it and treat them as tourists with guns, offer them dried fruit to feel comfy? They do not even have forward bases left to deploy to any more, they can rush the shore with something Normandy style but they would get slaughtered by drones, rockets and survivors would get eaten alive by millions of Iranians waiting for them (they had millions of volunteers apply for duty since the aggression began.
Iran is an impenetrable fortress for the empire and one has to wonder the magnitude of the chess dimensions the empire is playing on the board of mass schemes, thievery, lies and all other negative. They are either brilliant and we are all unaware of what is going on, or they are so corrupt and old and senile and weak that they are flailing like a mad man-child and have no idea what they are doing. Trump is damn sure not calling the shots, he is playing along to make his family and buddies dirty rich(er) and doing what told. If Trump was calling the shots we could all relax as it would mean the sure collapse of the empire very soon, I wouldnt let him lead 2 geese, let alone “the most powerful nation in the world, with the most powerful military in the universe”. As many here have hinted before, the background play is to destroy the world economy (or try to), as the empire is sensing its own collapse and want to take everyone else with them for some reason unknown… they dont have the military to project power any more, nukes are widespread so they cant dictate conditions with those… Interesting times to be alive and try to brain storm wtf is going on, or just turn off the god damn news and enjoy life as it is, you wont miss much.
