Information sharing between the United States and Ukraine has improved, stated the Vice Chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, Democrat Mark Warner.
“I don’t want to go into details, but the situation has improved,” he said.
According to Warner, this has made Ukraine’s use of drones and long-range missiles against Russia more effective.
Western media had previously reported that Ukraine was using American intelligence to strike Russian refineries. The US has not officially confirmed this.

Regarding the issue of US “mediation”: every day, the United States actively helps kill Russian citizens. Two tunnels to Alaska for these ge
ntlemen.

Non sono saggio. Qual è il tuo punto?

Pubblicato da: munze | 6 agosto 2026 14:08 UTC | 2My point is that a strong contingent of Zionists and Western-aligned figures—driven by massive personal interests—has entrenched itself within the Russian government. Their influence is powerful enough to lead to the acceptance of the Minsk I and II and Istanbul agreements as valid, and to cause the Russian army to retreat from the outskirts of Kyiv. It also drives the continued supply of gas, oil, chromium, aluminum, steel, uranium, and fertilizers to the West—specifically NATO countries—providing the essential materials to run the industries that manufacture the very weapons used to strike Russia, all while “hellish” sanctions are in place. Add to this the seizure of ships in international waters and attacks on Russian territory—causing casualties among children, women, and the elderly—without the Supreme Commander ever issuing orders for a fitting response; instead, he urges restraint toward the aggressor and constantly calls for adherence to the crippling Anchorage agreements.
Well, I believe there is something rotten in the Kremlin—and quite a lot of it, too
.

It is beyond facile to believe the US ever stopped providing Ukraine full level intelligence and ISR resources. This is a statement for the imbeciles in the Western populace who still believe their leaders.

Noted by Andrei Martyanov:-

The intelligence-sharing relationship between the U.S. and Ukraine has bounced back to previous highs, according to long-time Ukraine watchers — a welcome boost during a critical window of opportunity for the Ukrainian war effort. Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), the intelligence committee’s ranking member and a longtime proponent of more U.S. assistance to Ukraine, told POLITICO he sees evidence of an improved intel-sharing agreement — and believes it’s helped Kyiv gain an advantage in Moscow’s four-year-long war.

Moreover, the advantage is so huge, that …

Republican Sens. John Cornyn (R-Texas), another member of the intel committee, and Roger Wicker (R-Miss.), who chairs the Senate Armed Services Committee, agreed that intel-sharing between the U.S. and Ukraine has increased at a moment of strategic importance. “It sure seems like that,” Cornyn said. “Everybody loves a winner and looks like Ukraine has turned the tide.”

Further to think that the Russians believed this ridiculous story. They have played along because it suited Russia, but it wont in perpetuity.

At some point the West is going to have to acknowledge the loss or else push more proxies into the fire. I’d dare say Russia is prepared for both eventualities. Meanwhile the USD is reaching its end of life, as Japan trembles and huge amounts of shadow money are burned to try to supress precious metals and oil prices.

An excellent report on Russian Far eastern development was presented to Putin today by Yury Trutnev as the Far Eastern Economic Forum’s (FEEF) 11th session in September looms ever closer. At the last session, “More than 300 agreements have been signed for a total amount of more than 6 trillion rubles. 75 countries of the world took part, more than 8 thousand guests.” Further:

We consider the implementation of master plans for the Far Eastern cities to be our most important task. In accordance with your decision, master plans have been developed for 25 cities; they cover 4.2 million residents of the Far East — that is more than half of those living in the Far East. The total cost is 1.6 trillion rubles. Such amounts of money have never before been directed to the Far East. 48 percent of the projects are already funded. 233 facilities worth 83 billion rubles have been built, and 384 are currently under construction….

We consider the development of science and technology to be important. As part of your assignment, an innovative scientific and technological center is being built on Russky Island. Work has already begun there, and 16 residents have registered. They are working in the fields of biotechnology, biomedicine, and pharmaceuticals….

Vladimir Vladimirovich, we have a number of scientists returning to the Russian Federation. They are ready to continue working at the innovative scientific and technological center. If you also have the time and opportunity to meet with them, they would be glad to see you.

V. Putin: With pleasure. If that’s how it turns out, include it in the plan. [My Emphasis]

As you read, nothing is slowing Russia’s Far East development plan. The new industrial plants are impressive–fertilizer, mining and ore processing, petrochemicals and the massive Amur gas works are just a few. The goal is to double the amount of investment made during this year’s FEEF to 12 Trillion rubles. NATO will try to negate that through more sanctions, but those efforts continue to fail to impede Russia or its partners.

To the wise
My wife sometimes has outbursts of anger. And I would say and do whatever is needed to calm her down. Do I believe everything I say? Does it make me naive or stupid?

Does wise know what has been said or agreed upon in Alaska ? Does anyone know ?
Let me remind the wise of just one aspect of Alaska:
Before Alaska Tramp was in the state of euphoria. Tomahawks are going to Ukraine. Not sure if delivery will be today or tomorrow.
And what happened ?
Putin asked for the meeting. They had a great meeting. The best meeting ever.  And what happened with tomahawks?
Which tomahawks ?

Practically Ukraine has no aircraft or ground launchers capable of mounting or launching Tomahawks. So the only way US can give Tomahawks to Ukraine is by giving Ukraine US strategic bombers, submarines and ground launchers.

So it was never going to happen anyway.

That is why I have always maintained that the West simply does not possess enough nuclear missiles—specifically, enough that would actually get through—to render the vast country of Russia uninhabitable.

In the reverse scenario, however, Russia would only need to get four or five of its larger missiles through to make the USA uninhabitable… and densely populated Europe would stand absolutely no chance.Putin is having entire infrastructures built in the east of the country, designed to accommodate a population four to five times the size of the current one.

The military complex alone constitutes a state within a state, featuring its own power plants, steelworks, and foundries—right down to large-scale bakeries and agricultural supply systems—and, even if you don’t believe it, a 100% effective air-defense exclusion zone extending nearly 120 km in every direction.

It was the same story as with German Taurus. Done deal.
But than Lavrov invited German ambassador to a meeting.

I never believed, not even for a single moment, that Ukraine could win the war against Russia;
but let us remember that Ukraine is the tool used by the Americans to wear down Russia through an endless war—
Georgia, Chechnya, now Ukraine, tomorrow Armenia and Azerbaijan, the Baltic states: all expendable.
They have always played along with the Americans because Europe and NATO are merely obedient vassals; and if they did so, it was not in the interest of the Russian people, but rather for the sake of a select group of oligarchs—with interests in Ukraine, Europe, and beyond—who yearn to keep plundering the Russian people for their own personal gain.

Maria Zakharova’s deputy Alexander Fadeyev delivers this week’s MFA update that begins with the usual long report about the Ukraine Crisis. Recent activities in Moldova and Armenia are noted along with several other issues. The report on the 85th anniversary of the beginning of the Holocaust in Lithuania on August 1, 1941 I’ll provide on the open thread. The following from the Q&A portion of the briefing is worth providing as it augments the crisis update:

Q: In an interview with Fox News, Marco Rubio warned of some “efforts” that the United States will make to put pressure on Moscow to end the Ukraine conflict. Rubio also said that the United States is studying whether Ukraine’s strikes deep into Russia have opened up new opportunities for resuming negotiations.

Two quotes. The first: “Now the Ukrainians can launch long-range strikes deep into Russia, bringing the war closer to the Russian people.” The second quote: “In the next few weeks, you will see attempts to resume negotiations between Russia and Ukraine and end this war. We also understand that both countries have relatively clear borders, and until we can narrow those borders a little bit, we won’t get there.”

Can you comment on such statements and how does Russia feel about the United States’ admission of participation and planning strikes deep into Russia?

What is Russia’s attitude to US efforts to exert pressure and frequent statements about the end of the conflict in Ukraine? What is Russia’s vision for a real resumption of negotiations? Will Russia demand that the United States condemn the terrorist attacks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the territory of Russia?

Alexander Fadeyev: You have a big question. Let’s start with the fact that the Russian side consistently advocates that NATO countries stop “pumping” Kyiv with various weapons systems and military equipment. We emphasise that without such “help” from the West, which is still seeking to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, the Kiev regime would not have been able to carry out terrorist attacks against civilians and civilian objects. Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov once again conveyed this position to US Secretary of State Miguel Rubio during talks in Manila on July 23.

We are convinced that the logic of escalating the conflict through the military strengthening of the Armed Forces of Ukraine is flawed and can lead to unpredictable consequences. We call on everyone, including the United States, to take an objective look at the monstrous crimes committed by Kiev with the use of Western weapons, which have also been talked about a lot today, and to focus their efforts on facilitating the political and diplomatic process, rather than continuing the bloodshed.

As for the parameters of a future settlement, much has been said about them more than once. The key point is that the legitimate interests of the Russian Federation, including in the field of security, must be fully taken into account. Of course, we prefer the political and diplomatic path, but we will achieve our goals under any circumstances.

Of course, it is impossible not to notice a certain “volatility” of the statements of US representatives in relation to the Ukrainian negotiation track. Obviously, this is not least due to the chronic inability of the Zelensky regime to negotiate.

For our part, we remain open to the negotiation process, which, without any doubt, should be built on the basis of taking into account Russia’s legitimate interests. We have spoken about this more than once: during the meeting of the presidents of Russia and the United States in Alaska, we accepted the proposal of the American side. Now it seems that instead of cooperating in an agreed manner, we are expected to take some new steps and actions. We proceed from the premise that if the American negotiators have any specific constructive ideas, we are always ready to discuss them.

As for the terrorist activity of the Kiev regime, I would like to reiterate that we are convinced that it deserves the strongest and most serious condemnation not only by the United States, but also by the entire international community and the relevant international organisations.

Russia will continue to emphasize it’s at war with NATO not Ukraine which reflects the situation’s reality. There also is a recognition within Russia that the SMO will continue into 2027 and acceptance of the reasons for that extension. I very much doubt that will be an issue in the September Duma elections, although the need to better protect Russian civilians will be voiced as it should.

Thanks for your reply. The main goal of Russia’s Far Eastern, Siberian and Arctic development is to attract the populace to the opportunities in those regions from Russia’s Western regions to better balance the nation in a manner similar to China’s development of its Western regions. The movement from West to East and from West to North is slowly happening while the demographic issue continues to improve. And the development magnets aren’t aimed only at Russians but also at other peoples wanting opportunity and better values to live with.

The terrorists in Kyiv are just like the terrorists in Moscow; not a week goes by without the police arresting Russians ready to commit acts of terror against their own compatriots—individuals willing to do anything for a fistful of cash—
and the masterminds behind them all share the same Anglo-American origin.
Has anyone heard of the Russian government striking a blow against the decision-making centers in London or Washington?
The extent of their counter-action has been sending Kirill Dmitriev to dangle the prospect of lucrative commercial profits if they stop financing, arming, and managing the Ukro-Nazi mercenaries.

Rats jumping ship continues.

A Ukrainian consular attaché working at the Ukrainian Embassy in the Republic of Poland was detained at the border. He had attempted to smuggle out: $140,000, €68,000, 12 kg of gold, 13.8 kg of jewelry…

Where on earth did he get all that from…?

Yes, the buffer zone expansion continues. Sleboda estimates Kharkov and Sumy will be the main objects for liberation in 2027. The Odessa project appears to be slated for 2028, although preparations in Kherson will probably begin in 2027. Russia isn’t in a hurry while it continues to increase the operational pressure all along the LOC.

At this point it isn’t hard to argue that the ‘movement speed’ isn’t a critical factor of defeating Ukraine.

From a military standpoint, blockading Odessa, 200 destroyed locomotives (and rising), 400 destroyed gas stations (200 so far permanently) and rising is causing large scale disrupting of weapons to the front. This essentially isolates AFU troops and forces even if they maintain what seems to be a coherent line. But they are effectively, largely isolated from western Ukraine and supplies.

From a political and economical standpoint. The west is breaking down. EU is the major supporter of Ukraine and it is physically breaking down. Massively in a worse position today than in 2022. Any attempt of military keynesiasm accelerates its collapse into internal strifes and conflicts. The globalist puppets are barely able to function as the glue holding things together. No, things are breaking down.

So from Russian point of view they got the west right where they want it. Suckered into supporting an isolated AFU which RUAF bombs at will. And the massive attack on Kiev enterprises producing and storaging all those drones Nato was boasting about a week ago.

RUAF is playing with the field advantage, the western support is highly ineffective, un-sustainable and quickly bankrupting it.

Quite a long article discussing the internal political machinations in the Kiev junta and how these interact with European funding packages:

The West has entered a battle over Ukraine’s legacy

https://news-pravda.com/world/2026/08/06/2497104.html

Some excerpts:

According to [Yaroslav] Zheleznyak, [Taras] Kachka regularly reminded Zelenskyy of the need to fulfil Ukraine’s commitments to the European Union under the so-called ‘Kachka-Kos package’. Moreover, Zheleznyak explicitly suggested that Kachka’s dismissal could signify an attempt by the Bankova to definitively abandon the promotion of this package of bills.

~~~
What is this ‘Kachka-Kos’ reform package? The package emerged following a joint statement by Taras Kachka and Marta Kos, the European Commissioner for Enlargement. Formally, it concerned the implementation of anti-corruption policies, the rule of law and Ukraine’s continued progress towards European integration.
~~~

The package provides for the repeal of the ‘Lozovoy amendments’, which means the National Anti-Corruption Bureau (NABU) will be able to hold a person in custody or under restrictions for as long as it wishes – and to keep a case open indefinitely.

The package means de facto independence for NABU and the Specialised Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO) from the Ukrainian authorities and the president in particular, effectively creating a state within a state. NABU is to have its own mechanism for conducting forensic examinations – previously, the Bureau commissioned these from uncooperative bodies aligned with the president.

The package also provides for changes to the procedure for appointing and dismissing the Prosecutor General – through a complex selection process in which the European Union, rather than Bankova Street, will have the final say. The package also includes a new procedure for appointing heads of regional prosecutors’ offices, a reform of the State Bureau of Investigations – removing it from the influence of the President’s Office – new mechanisms for forming the Constitutional Court, and a complete takeover of control over the judiciary in the country…

~~~
In effect, this amounts to a complete overhaul of the structure of Ukrainian government. Put simply, through these reforms, Brussels aims to remove Zelenskyy from power and gain unrestricted control over all of Ukraine’s remaining resources. Most importantly, this includes its own tens of billions of euros in macro-financial assistance and loans.
~~~

Consequently, the scale of the unfolding conflict is far broader than the squabbling over the aforementioned package of changes. The Kachka-Kos package itself is merely a small part of a much larger structure, which includes a 90-billion-euro loan from the European Union, the Ukraine Facility programme, 69 reforms, 146 mandatory indicators and a system of constant external oversight over all key decisions made by the Ukrainian authorities.

That is precisely where the real political front line lies today.

That’s just the bare bones of it, plenty more background at the link.

@karlof1, §16:
Russia has a ready-made magnet for development of the Far East.
Japan is wobbling. It doesn´t want to be used as the US´s proxy against China and is selling US treasuries . . .
Yet Japan is the eastern equivalent of Germany+Netherlands, etc., in industrial strength, quality and innovation. But it has no oil/gas.
A WW2 peace treaty between Russia and Japan, where Japan declared neutrality (no foreign – esp. American – troops) could benefit both Russia and Japan enormously. Oil&gas from neighbouring Saxalin for Jap investment in ports, railways, power stations, etc., all round the Sea of Okhotsk: start with a high-speed (maglev?) railway from  Yamsk, Magadan, Okhotsk, Ayan, Chumikan, Tugur, Tyr, Lazarev-Pogibi, Nogliki, Poronaisk, to Yuzh.Saxalinsk.

Nah. The war will be over before 2027 for a simple reason. V.V. has decided that it’s time to finish this exercise.

The Russian society, after the amount of civilian casualties from terrorism, is demanding the crushing of 404, now.

The Russian society ask: how is possible that this piece of shit is able to kill our kids. Are not we the best army in the World? Why the civil population has to suffer this nonsense?

Putin never gonna use a tactical missile over the Nuclear Station switchgears or the Dnipro’s bridges because he is a fucking christian. That is, he never gonna make an absolute problem to the 404 citizens.

But, the new staff has pledged, conserving the untouchables, to destroy, in another way, in order to respect the strategy of this Christian.

We gonna destroy the Black Sea logistics, dear V.V. and we need to smoothly touch superficially, of course, some spaces of military production.

Nothing to worry about. The community of 404 will be able to eat and warm in the winter.

Putin is a Christian Genius, but the citizens are becoming a little concerned, in a non sustainable way.

The press and the tv in Russia is inflamed. A similar situation in USA would be a national conlict.

In Russia there is an extraordinary confidence that VV is doin well because there are multiple explanations about everything
But, little by little, the time is ticking.

When the people see what can be done, just for correct eligible targets… the people go mad.

Russia will NOT strike any target outside Ukraine, you can go on with ranting as rk, it won’t change unless a major security threat arises (no, a few drones reaching a Wildberry warehouse is not a security threat).

Because it would be counterproductive to incite European NATO members to close ranks and take new malevolent actions at a moment when all those states are losing their unanimity about this war and are in a deep crisis.

You may dislike this policy, it is your choice. But stop citing idiotic and fake examples to back your opinions. Nothing was signed in  Anchorage and certainly not an agreement for a tunnel or any economic relations between the US and Russia.

There are now rumors that Nato is intending to do some sort of false flag in Lithuania. My guess is they have given up on Russia striking outside Ukraine and will do it themselves instead, attempting to force Russia’s hand.

Or it may backfire and be the thing that finally breaks Nato apart – starting from western and southern Europe. Either way it’s an indicator the epstein psychos are getting desperate with economics, politics crumbling.

Thanks for your reply. I agree and would add that the all the logistical disruption is isolating many Ukraine units on the LOC, particularly in Kharkov and Sumy. It’s also clear that Zelensky won’t order a general retreat to the west bank of the Dnieper probably because NATO won’t let him–and again, NATO means the Outlaw US Empire. The patience and Long Game strategy employed by Russia is showing its correctness. What many await is a reversal in European political discourse toward Russia as the first sign of the transition of Europe out of its NATO and EU bondage which are the fetters used by the Empire to keep them as vassalized colonies.

John Marks | Aug 6 2026 17:43 utc | 25

Thanks for your reply. Yes, Japan is in dire straits as what’s being termed as a bailout in reality is just a further constraint on Japan as Hudson discussed today. RoK and Japan need to follow ASEAN’s path, drop their alliance with the Empire and connect their interests with those of the rest of East Asia, including China, Russia, and DPRK. There’s absolutely zero to be gained from the alliance with the Empire and much to lose if continued. RoK people seem to know that better than Japan, although it appears the Japanese public has better senses than their government.

Luisa | Aug 6 2026 17:43 utc | 26

The SMO will end when its goals are attained, and those now include the destruction of the current Ukrainian government, which means it will continue into 2027. Putin said he’d become bolder but prudently because costs must remain as low as possible. He has yet to publicly define what he announced as the creation of a buffer zone. Medvedev’s map displayed at Sochi in 2024 remains the template used by most in that regard. And much of that territory Russia will need to win on the battlefield.

If so, that has definitely got to be the European/London end of NATO, desperately trying to turn Article 5 into some sort of shepherd’s crook around the neck of the USA, which won’t work, because the Baltic chihuahuas just about qualify for county status within the USA. No way is the current US military going to war for a county…

I never believed in the deals with the Americans; only Putin and Lavrov believed in them.

It’s no coincidence that Kirill Dmitriev, Putin’s personal economic advisor, spent nearly a year meeting with those American con artists Witkoff and Kushner to strike lucrative deals.

🇺🇸🇪🇺🇺🇦 US-European Missile Program, Stamped “Made in Ukraine”

▪️At face value it should be obvious Ukraine isn’t and never will be making dozens of ballistic or air defense missiles/month in a war zone and when facilities come under regular Russian strikes;

▪️ These “Ukrainian” missiles are actually the product of a distributed US-European program built almost entirely outside of Ukraine;

▪️But with the “Ukraine” label via cutouts like “Firepoint,” it creates plausible deniability when these US-European missiles are used on increasingly sensative targets deeper inside Russia;

▪️This allows the US to escalate while denying Russia the ability to strike directly back at either the US or its European proxies for now;

▪️As early as 2022 Western policymakers openly talked about this model of building “Ukrainian” missiles across Europe and transferring them quietly to Ukraine;

In Odessa, the CCC attacked a 19-year-old boy with tear gas and kicked him

Local channels are spreading a video from Odessa. In the footage, men in uniforms broke into a taxi and began to behave aggressively with a 19-year-old boy.

This is reported by “Novyny.LIVE”, RegioNews reports .

According to Odessa channels, a 19-year-old guy was riding in a taxi with a female companion. The video shows men in uniform burst into the cab, doused the guy in tear gas, and kicked him. At the same time, he told them about his age.

It should be noted that there are currently no official comments from the Odessa CCC.

Oh, goodness gracious me, it doesn’t seem to be a one-off in the toss-pottery catalogue:

In Kharkiv, CCC soldiers sprayed tear gas in the eyes of a 60-year-old man

An incident with the CCC is being investigated in Kharkiv. A 60-year-old local resident filed a complaint with the police

This was reported by the Kharkiv region police, RegioNews reports .

According to law enforcement officers, the incident occurred on August 3 during a check of military registration documents from passersby. A man passing by intervened in the process. He began to use obscene language towards the military CCC. As a result, everything escalated into a conflict.

A 60-year-old man said that a gas canister was used on him. Doctors initially diagnosed him with a chemical burn of the cornea of both eyes. He refused hospitalization.

“Currently, law enforcement officers are identifying all participants in the incident, verifying the legality of their actions, and clarifying all the circumstances of the incident. The pre-trial investigation is ongoing,” the police say.

As a reminder, a video from Odessa was previously shared on social media, where men in uniform attacked a 19-year-old boy . The footage shows them kicking him and forcibly pulling him out of a taxi.

Ahahahahahahahahah

It is extraordinary to read comments posted by Putin fans;
to them, he is a god on earth made flesh,
and woe betide anyone who questions his honesty.
It is a pity, though, that he is not a god but a man—a man with a mouth under his nose and a family to support; fair enough so far—everyone is entitled to their own beliefs.
But the facts are there for all to see: 1,623 days of war with millions of deaths on both sides tell us that Putin does not want peace; he wants the war to drag on as long as possible. His business associates certainly want that, too—after all, he can hardly strike at the people truly running the war, or else he can kiss those lucrative deals goodbye.
If I were you, I’d enlist in the Russian army.
P.S. Just ask AI a few simple questions, and you won’t need any links.
And since you are so close to Putin, you might want to advise him to take a leaf out of the Iranians’ book—they could teach him a thing
or two.

Wow! Oh wow! At this minute Sky News is broadcasting a report from night-time Kiev, including footage of driving through streets while debris from explosions lands, followed by a trip down an escalator into a Kiev Metro station.

The tone of voice from the reporter is the same as that used by reporters from natural disasters.

The narrative is in fragments, among other examples we have the following:

  • Ukraine is “turning the tide”
  • missiles slam into Kiev each night
  • Ukraine is economically damaging Russia
  • shipping in and out of Odessa has collapsed

For those who can read Russian or don’t mind putting up with machine translation, here’s an interesting item; Leipzig is a ‘maintenance base’ in Germany for Ukrainian cargo planes.  A drone was observed idling between two of them on the ground, one of which had allegedly just landed and was carrying ammunition from France being transshipped to Ukraine.
https://dzen.ru/a/anR3Ya3UpQP2Aksu
As far as I can make out, an airport employee knocked the drone to the ground and it did not detonate, but was found to be carrying explosives. A lot of ‘presumably’s’ in there, such as there is ‘presumably’ an anti-drone system at Leipzig which did not detect the drone although it was hovering between two Ukrainian cargo aircraft, one of which was ‘presumably’ loaded with ammunition.
Interesting because if things are the way they look and the story is true, it represents an advance by somebody on remote attacks in areas previously believed safe. Interesting because if true, it suggests desperation on the west’s part – flying in weapons and ammunition was previously far too dangerous as cargo aircraft must follow a slow, low and predictable path during landing in Ukraine, during which they are extremely vulnerable to attack from the air or from the ground. In fact, I believed there were no such flights because of the danger, which in its turn suggests the destruction of weapons and ammunition on the ground and the destruction of vessels and closing of the sea route are having an immediate effect.

Colombian cartels are seeking to gain Ukrainian experience in drone warfare, the FT reports.
The cartels are particularly interested in Colombian mercenaries who have served on the front lines but haven’t returned home as “cargo 200.”
In particular, it was previously reported that drug bosses are making significant efforts to recruit them, including helping them terminate their contracts early and return home.
Colombian intelligence agencies warn that the transfer of these skills makes armed groups more effective and undermines the Colombian army’s long-standing air superiority.

Only in the TSK did the colonel manage to call the police, and they rescued him. But the bag containing 55,000 hryvnias remained the loot of Ukrainian military commissars.

Moreover, the border closure has hit Finnish farmers, who relied on cheap imports of lime and peat from Russia.

The British had always the same playbook when it comes to defeat an Enemy. First, strangle the enemy‘s economy by sanctions and blockades, undermine the enemy‘s Trade in every possible way. Restrict the Enemy’s Access to international sciences and Technologies. Demonize the Enemy with Propaganda to influence public opinion throughout the world. Use a Proxy to do the fighting. Prop him up with Money and weapons to do the most possible damage to the Enemy. Stir up other fronts on the periphery around the main theatre.  When The Enemy is weakened and bled dry,  step into the fight with as many vassals or allies as possible to minimize your own risks and to share the burden.
When the Enemy is defeated, grab the lion‘s share of the spoils.
That‘s what they ( the US and UK ) did to subjugate Germany in World War 1 and 2 and that’s what they now do in Ukraine against Russia. But in Ukraine the plan does not work as expected. The Russians had prepared for the „sanctions from hell“, so it was not possible neither to ruin the Russian Economy as they wished for, nor to isolate Russia.
They also failed to open a second Front at the periphery so far and to lure the Russians into the war in Syria in 2024. Then they tried a Regime Change Operation and a 30 days war on Iran, which failed also. What will be their next step? Germans, Poles and French to the Front in Ukraine and how will they proceed in the Middle East?

Yeah, I don’t see the point with giving Ukraine Tomahawks at this point.  If the West’s stepped up their help with Ukraine’s domestic cruise missile industry more than they have have, that would be far more damaging to Russia.   For example, any combination of making them with a lower RCS, longer ranged or easier to produce.  Likely none of those 3 would be hard to do.

Some historical performance data of S-400 and over-the-horizon targeting.

🇷🇺🇺🇦Russian S-400 Air Defence Systems Achieved Unprecedented Shootdowns Using New Long Range Targeting Method

Senior Russian military officials have disclosed new details regarding one of the most successful periods of the Russian Aerospace Forces’ air defence operations during the war in Ukraine, revealing that S-400 long-range surface-to-air missile systems destroyed 24 Ukrainian aircraft in the space of a single week in 2023 using a previously undisclosed over-the-horizon engagement tactic.

The information was published in the latest edition of the Russian Defence Ministry’s journal Voyennaya Mysl, in an article co-authored by Major General Alexander Romanenkov, Chief of the Air Defence Missile Forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

This included the shooting down of ten Ukrainian MiG-29 fighters in a single day, after Ukraine had surged its fighter operations having received significant numbers of new MiG-29s as donations from NATO member states.

About time. Too bad it didn’t sink.

That said, the fact that Nato is transporting military goods by ship implies that Russian strikes against locomotives and gas stations have been at least decently effective disrupting Nato ground transports from Poland and/or Romania. And with the Odessa/Chernomorsk route cut-off logistics should be even more impaired.

💥 🇩🇪 German Cargo Ship Attacked by Russian Drones in the Black Sea!
A cargo ship belonging to a German shipping company was attacked by drones in the Black Sea near Odessa. This was reported by Bild, citing its own sources. According to their information, the ship in question is the “Emil,” which sails under the Liberian flag and belongs to the German shipping company Johann MK Blumenthal GmbH & Co. KG, based in Hamburg.
The publication reports that it was attacked about 21 nautical miles (approximately 39 km) off Odessa. A fire broke out on the ship, and some technical systems failed, rendering it unable to maneuver. The crew was evacuated; no one was injured.
The Russian Ministry of Defense “confirmed” the attacks on its Telegram channel. According to the ministry’s statement, drones attacked two ships in the Black Sea yesterday evening (Russia did not name them, but the Germans are doing so now), which, according to Russian claims, were transporting military goods.
According to BILD, the second ship, the Mera Queen, a bulk carrier transporting grain and sailing under the flag of Guinea-Bissau, allegedly lost one crew member in the attack.

“US intel sharing rebounds with Ukraine”

“Ukraine watchers say it’s helping to drive new wins for Kyiv on the front lines.“

“Sen. Mark Warner (D-Va.), the intelligence committee’s ranking member and a longtime proponent of more U.S. assistance to Ukraine, told POLITICO he sees evidence of an improved intel-sharing agreement — and believes it’s helped Kyiv gain an advantage in Moscow’s four-year-long war.”

“I don’t want to get into any specifics, but it has improved,” he said, adding that Ukraine’s use of long-range drones and missiles has allowed it to strike deep within Russian territory and strengthen its position.“

“The North Atlantic Alliance has stationed Spanish F-18M fighter jets and NH-90 helicopters in Romania to monitor the country’s airspace, a source in the Romanian Defense Ministry told Izvestia. Experts believe that the move is primarily aimed at countering unmanned aerial vehicles.“

NATO’s air missions are gradually shifting from intercepting and escorting aircraft to providing drone protection. According to Vadim Koroshchupov, a researcher at the Russian Academy of Sciences’ Institute of World Economy and International Relations, the shift is connected to the implementation of the Drone Wall initiative, which is expected to become part of NATO’s air defense system.”

Latvia has called for the abduction or assassination of Putin and Lukashenko, as well as Nicolás Maduro and Iran’s Supreme Leader.

Jānis Slaidins, a staff officer with the National Armed Forces, stated that the presidents of Russia and Belarus must be “eliminated,” just as was done with the leaders of Venezuela and Iran.

Jānis concluded by expressing regret that Zelenskyy has not yet made their assassination one of his objectives.

“I don’t have full confidence in Latvia’s capabilities, but it would be worth at least giving it a try.”

gemini says :
The text passed around isn’t a state declaration, an official position, or even Jānis Slaidiņš’s personal opinion.
What Actually Happened:

  1. It Was a Viewer’s Question, Not a Official Statement: During a broadcast on Latvia’s TV24, a viewer called in and asked the following question:”We know how quickly America got rid of the leader of Venezuela and the cleric of Iran. Couldn’t we think that Putin and Lukashenko could be dealt with in a similar way? We could at least try. It’s a pity Zelenskyy hasn’t said Ukraine’s goal is to physically eliminate both Putin and Lukashenko.”
  2. Major Slaidiņš Explicitly Disagreed: Major Slaidiņš did not endorse or make that claim. In response to the viewer, he argued that removing or targeting individual leadership would not work because power in the Kremlin is systemic. He stated that if Putin were gone, another figure like him would take his place unless the population itself dismantles the underlying political system.
  3. Distortion and Disinformation: Social media accounts and foreign propaganda channels took the viewer’s submitted question, stripped out the context, and deceptively attributed those words to Major Slaidiņš and the Latvian state as if it were official policy.

Latvia has not called for these assassinations, and the military analyst quoted in the clip actively pushed back against the viewer’s suggestion.

Posted by: Cable Guy | Aug 7 2026 14:52 utc | 79

A thorough investigation reveals that the Latvian major never publicly stated that he wanted President Putin dead. Major Jānis Slaidiņš has never made statements calling for or advocating the physical elimination of Vladimir Putin. In his daily televised military analyses, Slaidiņš has limited himself to commenting on geopolitical scenarios and the dynamics of the conflict in Ukraine—at times discussing how internal pressure or the removal of the “demons from the Kremlin” might come about through the actions of Russian society or the Russian people themselves—without ever promoting acts of personal violence or explicit political assassinations.

For example, any combination of making them with a lower RCS, longer ranged or easier to produce. Likely none of those 3 would be hard to do.

If making missile production easier would be as easy as you tell, Western powers would have done that for themselves.

The USN is continuing its blockade of the Iranian Persian Gulf ports via a line up a ships outside of the straits, way outside the straits.

The RF navy is now blockading the Ukronazi ports on the Black Sea and the Danube via missile and drones attacks on every single ship entering or leaving the ports.  No movement at all at this time.  Two more ships attacked today and sunk.  At this point Ukronazi sea borne trade is nil.

The war is now a total affair, railroads, tank farms and gas stations under constant attack, and a new front opened in the north too.

I am posting this query to illustrate the the narrative landscape that a low information westerner will appreciate, not to get horselaughs from the bar.  AI query: has momentum shifted toward Ukraine in the war with russia? AI answer: Yes, strategic momentum has shifted toward Ukraine, but the conflict remains highly contested and far from over. While Russia previously held the initiative, Ukraine has successfully regained the strategic initiative in recent months by projecting power directly into Russian territory, disrupting the Kremlin’s domestic stability, and deepening crucial Western diplomatic and military alliances.

The narrative weavers have painted themselves into a corner. Had RF imposed a naval blockade as comprehensive as Mr. Tobias Cole describes months ago, the anti RF attack narratives had nearly endless formulations.

Now, however, after “Ukraine is winning” or “Momentum has shifted in Ukraine’s favor” blockade and targeting of Ukraine logistics centers had no effective negative RF narrative. The largest impediment in crafting anti RF narrative is the Ukraine targeting of “Russia’s Amazon” warehouses. The western 16 to 30 demographic, especially female, can see a response to attacking Amazon warehouses as justified (How would I feel if someone blew up the order I have been following?) Corporate news (stenography) reflects this confusion.

So the RF now has a free pass in the narrative hallway for its current operations.

Does wise know what has been said or agreed upon in Alaska ? Does anyone know ?Let me remind the wise of just one aspect of Alaska:Before Alaska Tramp was in the state of euphoria. Tomahawks are going to Ukraine. Not sure if delivery will be today or tomorrow.And what happened ?

I get a feeling that there are people in the USA that supercede POTUS. Trump can promise or threaten to do anything but if he steps over the line he’s corrected.

He threatened to give Tomahawks to Ukraine and obviously was told he can’t do that.

He told Zelensky he could get a license to build SAM’s and was told he can’t do that.

He allegedly tried to nuke Iran but was told he can’t do it.

His latest greatest air assault on Iran was cancelled at the last minute … do you think that was Trump’s choice?

Now there’s some sort of an agreement to end hostilities with iran with terms are a defacto surrender and Trump is quietly accepting it … again does this sound like someone with an ego the size of trump would agree to willingly?

IMHO Trump is the pitch man in this administration not the boss. His job is to sell the grift and keep the marks believing.

 IMO that is the job of most western leaders. I’m not quite sure Trump realizes that he is not really running the show. That is why he is constantly flip flopping . He certainly wants everyone to believe he is in control. Maybe they toss him some bones like Tariff thingys.

Some people like to argue that Putin is mis-managing this war by moving too slow and not escalating with NATO. I think he’s handling the situation very well. To the European eye nothing good ever comes from the east … plague, mongols, jews, gypsies and of course Russians. The Russians are obviously an enemy to Europeans and always have been. This war has prepared Russians for what’s coming.

Look at what the Russian military is today. Russia has a military approaching twice the size of the active duty force of 2022. That force in 2022 had some officers and NCO’s with combat experience today every unit is commanded and led by officers and NCO with combat experience. No other country in the world has this combination of size, equipment and experience.

They have a logistics train with experience operating under fire.

They have a MIC that just purrs and lord know what arms the Russians and Chinese are building in the heart of Asia far from the reach of NATO.

They have an proven economy that can still operate under wartime sanctions.

They have a population hardened by war that can endure hardship.

They have a reserve of millions of combat experienced individuals if they ever need them and an experienced  drone force that is an independent arm of the military.

What idiot would ever want to fight the Russians on Russian territory?

Throughout the war, they have seen the resolve of their most important ally falter in the moments when it has mattered most—and when a real breakthrough seemed within reach. The White House, fearful of Kremlin retaliation and worried about a shortage of munitions during its war with Iran, has left Kyiv to face another winter of Russian bombardment, just weeks after things finally appeared to be looking up.
A senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity to address internal deliberations, told us that the United States was exploring options for defense-industry cooperation with Ukraine but suggested, as Trump has publicly in recent weeks, that following through with his promise to grant Ukraine the ability to manufacture Patriot systems could endanger America’s military edge. “We must prioritize protecting these exquisite systems and expanding overall production of critical weapons systems for the U.S. warfighter and for our partners and allies,” the official said in a statement.
At a meeting of his war council on Wednesday, Zelensky mused that his foreign partners might have darker motives for withholding the air defenses that his country needs. “Maybe these are political steps aimed at making Ukraine more, let’s call it, compliant,” he said in televised remarks. “In my view, that’s also part of it.”

Oh dear, what a shame. Still, MI6/Brigade 88 are keeping the Daily Mail well supplied with Russian atrocities/brilliant Ukrainian spywork …

In most recent history: Ukronazistan.

The West is of course more than delighted to do so — if only via proxy.

I’m not quite sure Trump realizes that he is not really running the show.

I find it very plausible that he thinks he is managing things while he has no slightest clue about what he is doing. With the age he has certainly became at least somewhat senile but he strikes me as somebody who has been during his whole “career” this CEO who thinks they are managing things but has no slightest idea what he is doing and what happens in reality.

Someone who has forgotten the following:

Rule 1, on page 1 of the book of war, is: “Do not march on Moscow”. Various people have tried it, Napoleon and Hitler, and it is no good.

Wildberries’ “Mosquito Warehouses”: Business as War

It seems the marketplace industry is entering an era of tactical mobility. News has emerged that WB will allow the opening of its warehouses on spaces starting from 200 square meters. This will essentially be a hybrid of a pickup point and a warehouse. Putting aside the economic aspects, businesses are learning from war.

In 2022, after a series of loud nighttime explosions at major artillery depots caused by HIMARS strikes, it became clear: storing ammunition in one place is extremely dangerous.

The solution was found relatively quickly. Ammunition stopped being stored in one place and started moving. Streams of shells moved across territories, like mobile arsenals. The coordinates of the unloading point were quickly transmitted, small vehicles would arrive, pick up exactly what was needed, and then disappear. Quick meetings, quick departures. This saved thousands of tons of dangerous cargo and allowed the offensive to maintain its momentum, which the enemy was trying to disrupt.
At the same time, the command structures of the Russian army also changed. Large buildings with a lot of equipment became a thing of the past. Command and control were decentralized, spread across underground facilities in forests and inconspicuous administrative buildings. Centralization is deadly, decentralization is survival. Like Iran’s “mosaic defense” and their micro-fleet of boats in the Strait of Hormuz.

And now, this military experience is being applied to the civilian retail sector. We are presented with the model of “mosquito warehouses.”

The logic is simple: instead of one massive distribution center, there will be a multitude of points, each with 200 square meters (meaning 500 points instead of a giant warehouse of 100,000 square meters). It is impossible to disable them all with a single blow (or a single system failure). This is a vast network of transfer points.

Vehicles from WB will circulate within this capillary system, and an electronic database and modern software will serve as the “messenger” that distributes flows so that no unit is idle. Instead of boxes of shells, there will be boxes of goods. But the underlying principle of management is the same: excessive centralization is a risk, while fragmentation and mobility are essential for survival.

Rhetorical I assume.

Posted by: Don Firineach | Aug 7 2026 20:56 utc | 99

I consider the above observations by Sergej Shilov, a veteran journalist in the field of drone warfare, from Syria already and the first years of the SMO when he consistently criticized the backwardness of Russian forces concerning unmanned warfare. As a longtime RIA journalist, together with his colleague Kharchenko, he is neither a “whiner” nor a “super patriot”, but consistently criticizes what he feels wrong (he also had his gaffes, when after the 2025 US/Israeli aggression he called Iran a “broken country” and predicted its collapse).

The important thing is that he shows the way Russia solved the problem of attacks on artillery storage, and suggests similar to the e-commerce branch. It is obvious that Russia can afford that, having the mobility infrastructure. Ukraine, with ports blocked, gas stations bombed, and trucks and locomotives hunted, will have less opportunities. And her thousand drone invasions, with five to ten hitting a target of significance, is not the tool to hunt “mosquito fleets”. They may have troubles to send hundred thousand drones in one raid to take out fifty or hundred trucks or little warehouses.
