Impression atm is that the US will now continue to become more active around Hormuz by targeting Iranian sites, possibly elsewhere also, probably short of acts that would bring about a fuller escalation. Not sure of that though.

With respect to current events in west Asia, I think everything the Trumpers do must be viewed in the light of how they can manipulate markets. Shorts and puts in various markets executed with timing set up by their knowledge of when key actions will be taken in west Asia and likely other places also. All we can do is watch, for the moment. We will recognize real change is happening in this world when we see meaningful action taken in response to insider trading. Agreed, “tactical” nukes (not really thing, only theoretical) won’t be used under any circumstances against Iran.  It would fundamentally change American nuclear doctrine, and not in a good way. Not to mention the economic and legal fallout, as you said. Trump would almost certainly be impeached, likely removed from office, and may end up in the Hague.

Iran army says it attacked US forces at UAE base with dozens of drones

Iran’s military said it launched dozens of explosive drones at US troops and helicopters stationed at Al Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates early on Monday.
The army described the attack as retaliation for a US strike on Iran’s Larak Island.
“Since early this morning, the Islamic Republic of Iran Army has targeted locations housing US military helicopters and personnel at Al Minhad base in the UAE with dozens of explosive drones,” the army said.
It described Al Minhad as an important logistics and air transport hub for foreign forces and pledged further retaliation against US troops.
