Normally satellite would show larger slicks, but I have not found anywhere that keeps track of all spills. Info on damaged ships (location, cargo, and extent of damage) is often restricted also I think.

There was one bombed and on fire in Red Sea several months ago, not sure what happened to it, disappeared from news etc.

The spill above is major, possibly amongst largest in history depending on how much oil escaped/is still contained in ship, and in ‘normal times’ would be front page, yet now hardly reported until months after incident and oil slick becomes obvious.

There are no friends in international relations.

It helps to look at the underlying security architecture.

Turkey and Saudi Arabia are deeply entrenched with NATO and western tech.

The foundational brains, communication links, and operational doctrines of both their and Saudi Arabia’s entire military and defense establishment rely on Link 16.

Pakistan has much more modern Chinese equipment compared to what’s left of its older western tech.

But its own Link 17 is native meaning it can’t ‘talk’ to the Chinese or NATO.

This is how all the other systems are. They don’t ‘talk’ to each other directly the way NATO systems do.

Russian and Chinese systems themselves are entirely independent of each other as are Iran’s.

NATO’s ‘article 5’ and all that stuff doesn’t actually legally compel any nation to do anything militarily, politically or economically.

It simply begins with the language ‘an attack on one member will be considered an attack on all members…’ and that is where it begins and ends because the fine print leaves the ultimate decision up to each individual member.

But that is for public consumption.

The deeply embedded structures are where the truth lies and this is the fundamental reason why they act as a bloc.

It is this core structural defense connection.

China and/or Russia cannot just win a few more battles and gain a little more prestige on the world stage and then, when the time is right, swoop in and replace this architecture with their own (even if they wanted to).

It doesn’t work that way.

Canada is the most entrenched NATO member by far since it directly shares NORAD.

The entire ‘Americas’ are under NATO protection including Greenland which is fascinating and serves to illustrate how there is room to maneuver locally even given the all-encompassing nature of the ‘security’ architecture.

Canadian and US personnel work together inside NORAD and even independent Mexico – which is not connected via ‘Link 16’ – Mexico nevertheless works with US, Canada and others on continental ‘security’ via USNORTHCOM.

The largest prop aircraft that can land on a A/C is the C2 retired in 2026 and replaced by Osprey CMV 22B. Both can’t carry much and definitely not fresh produce for a population of 5000. Range appox 2, 400km with full load of 4500 kg (CMV 22B – range is under 1000 km under full load).

What’s been happening in the occupied West Bank? 
Israeli forces and settlers have continued a campaign of raids, arrests, demolitions and land grabs across the occupied West Bank on Thursday, according to the Palestinian Wafa news agency. 
 
Here are some of the reported incidents:
– Israeli forces detained seven relatives of Palestinians killed in past raids during a predawn military raid on homes in Qalqilya.
– Seven young men were detained in the village of Farkha, southwest of Salfit, after Israeli forces stormed the village and raided several homes.
– Israeli troops forced residents to evacuate two homes in the Ras al-Ain area of Qusra, south of Nablus, and converted 16 homes in the town into military barracks after storming the town in large numbers.
– Settlers attacked the home and farm of the Jabarin family in the Jabal al-Qarn area east of Bethlehem, stealing more than 100 sheep and a vehicle, uprooting over 100 olive trees and cutting the water line; two family members were beaten, with one detained by Israeli forces despite his injuries.
– Three Palestinians, including a child, were injured southwest of Jenin after settlers attacked their vehicle with pepper spray between the towns of Arrabeh and Yabad.
– Israeli authorities demolished about 20 seasonal dwellings used by Palestinian farmers, including three that were inhabited, in al-Jiftlik in the Jordan Valley, and issued demolition notices for roughly 40 more homes belonging to sheep herders in the area.
– A Palestinian family in Jalazone refugee camp, north of Ramallah, evacuated their home ahead of its demolition after being given a week’s notice by the Israeli military, while four more families were notified to vacate their homes.
– Israeli authorities issued demolition notices for a 10-storey residential building and three homes, one still under construction, in Kafr Sur, south of Tulkarem, giving owners a week to appeal. 
– Settlers re-established a settlement east of Jenin, 21 years after it was evacuated under Israel’s 2005 disengagement plan, as Israeli forces sealed off roads to secure the event.
– Settlers began establishing a new outpost in an-Nazla al-Sharqiya, north of Tulkarem, bulldozing land and installing roughly 20 caravan homes.
– Settlers entered Khirbet Samra in the northern Jordan Valley and roamed among residents’ tents, which locals said frightened women and children; daily incursions in the area have already forced two families to leave.

I suppose heavy drones could be used nowadays.. 

That does not deal with a spooked and suspicious crew that’s suffering from stir craziness. Especially if they suspect they are merely expendable pawns in a bigger war.
