Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

War On Iran: – Silence Before The Storm Or Ongoing Negotiations?

Throughout the last day there have been no U.S. strikes on Iran:

“Iran had a peaceful night,” Health Ministry spokesperson Hossein Kermanpour posted on X. The U.S. Central Command did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However, unlike the previous 13 nights, it did not announce new strikes.

This comes after 13 days of U.S. (and other) strikes on Iran followed by well targeted responses by Iranian forces.

This curious. Something is up.

This could be the silence before the storm, i.e. for an upcoming large scale U.S. strike all over Iran – for which there are many signs, or it could be part of ongoing negotiations.

My hunch is that this halt of bombings was a precondition for the renewal of talks which are now ongoing.

Talks are always better than bombing. But I see little chance for a positive outcome.

Comments

The attacks are enough for Trump to maintain both the fiction of wanting a ceasefire, whilst keeping Israel satisfied that he really wants a forever war.
All he needs to do is keep making people believe he is crazy, whilst ruthlessly pursuing a war of attrition with Iran. A long term war he is happy to keep going because Iran cannot do anything to stop him, just hold him at bay.
Now, if Israel implodes, like the Soviet Union did, what does the USA really lose that a changing world has not already lost them. They can remain a world player, just not the pre-eminent power they once were.

I posted a reminder on a now dead thread, so I’ll repost it here.

When the Saana airport was first hit, as the Iranian airliner was coming in for a landing, they said that it was from the US-backed Aden government in the south. Then that got dropped down the Memory Hole, and we are told that it was Saudi Arabia, which makes no sense, but which the Yemenis have seized upon. Just a reminder.

Calls for talks and ongoing negotiations have never stopped the USA from launching simultaneous attacks; in some cases, the USA initiated an attack
while still sitting at the negotiating table.

At this point,  Iran’s entire focus needs to center on the evaluation of their own citizens stabilization.

A yo-yo position,  for Iran,  may have a buy in,  and it may not.  I’m not certain the Iranian citizenry feels avenged yet.
In any event,  it is not exclusively about what the West does or doesn’t do.

Talks are always better than bombing.

I’m not so sure I still believe that last sentence. From the perspective of either side, the only reason to halt is to regroup and rearm in relative peace. Never has it been truer that peace is a “short period of preparation for the next war”, as the American littérateur once put it.

The content of the talks is meaningless, and the talks will accomplish nothing, unless one side is effectively surrendering. At best, such talks postpone the inevitable. At worst, they’ll yield another document in multiple conflicting texts that the USA will willfully misinterpret to justify its war crimes.

Thanks for the post, b.

I keep seeing headlines like: Will Iran be another forever war?
https://consortiumnews.com/2026/07/24/will-iran-be-another-forever-war/

My short answer is NO. It’s not affordable.
This an existential war for both Iran, and empirentity.
For Iran, it’s sovereignty, for the empirentity, hegemony.

It will not be a forever war due to economy. For example, in Afghan war, Afghanistan did not have the economic leverage that Iran has, so, a forever war.

In Iraq, Libya, Syria wars, the same logic applies.

World, and empirentity economies will force an outcome sooner than later. In the meantime, Iran will limp along, with help from some friend.

So, the mantra of “it’s the economy, stupid!” applies very much in this case.

And as Forrest, Forrest Gump said: that’s all I have to say about that.

For all the “resistance” talk about how Iran has already won, the posters here noticeably get very nervous when they suspect the US is about to bomb Iran especially hard. Remember that Iran caved and signed the first ceasefire when Trump promised bridge and powerplant day.

There was news yesterday that the gulf states are now using their own fighters to bomb Iran, something they wouldn’t be risking if Iran’s AD remained a real threat.

Agree.  Who are the Iranians supposed to negotiate with?  It’s all or nothing at all, as Sinatra once sung.
But, the Zios all worship money and markets.  If Iran can seriously damage the markets for one straight week, I think they could gain the leverage they need to get a real negotiation and end to the Zio Imperialist assault (for a significant time at least).
We saw a little preview on Thursday.  Big drop, high oil.  Then Friday everything goes back to normal on rumors of these ridiculous talks.  If Iran decided to resume talks even through third parties this time, they blew it.  When the market screams, they need to go harder and make it last longer.  Remember: Zios only really negotiate when you’ve got their nuts in a vice.

The first Trump attack, Iran was using US governed “GPS” to direct Iranian weapons, and when the US wanted (upon detecting incoming weapons) the US could throw off the Iranian aim by messing with GPS.

Now comes the second round, and Trump discovers that China has provided Chinese Bido GPS substitute, (it has greater accuracy, and designed from the outset to not be spoof-able) and when Iranian weapons are detected incoming the jiggering with GPS does not distract the aim of the Iranian weapons!

This is not fair! The European Ashkenazi Kazarian Khaganate Synagogue of Satan fake jews cheated fair and square!

A few wondered where Rothschilds came from. the very first forefather of Rothschild was Noah, and his son Japheth, and his grandson ***Ashkenaz*** and you can read about it in the book of Genesis chapter 10 the “Table of Nations”. Did you see all the stars I put with the fellow “Ashkenaz”? THAT IS WHERE ALL THE ASHKENAZI FAKE JEWS Come from.

The three sons of Noah in the Bible are Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

Every descendant of Shem is a Semite.

The descendants of Jepheth are not Semites, never have been and never will be Semites. THIS INCLUDES the European Ashkenazi Kazarian Khaganate Synagogue of Satan fake jew settlers. (To be fair, they did intermarry with a few Hebrew some 700 years ago, so if they have a smidgen of Hebrew that’s why)

Victoria Nuland and her husband Kagan WERE BOTH FROM ODESSA and are European Ashkenazi Kazarian Khaganate Synagogue of Satan fake jews who don’t pretend to be jew anymore. The reason Victoria Nuland’s husband is named Kagan is to tell you that he is the Khaganate, he is your King.

Sorry for getting sidetracked off topic.

Anyway. **Trump will surrender to Iran** regardless of how much he doesn’t want to. The fake jew run West / USreal will run out of weapons and ammunition and soldiers and the US soldiers stationed in the middle east may very well have to find their own ride back to the States. **But that’s not the point of the war!**

The plan was, Trump and the West can NOT destroy the rest of the world’s economy, but MAYBE Trump can convince Iran to bomb the energy infrastructure of the middle east, and that will disrupt the rest of the world’s economy while leaving the US to ride out the shit-storm sucking on Venezuela oil.

I would go on, but I have some tasks to do first. Have a nice day!

“Talks are always better than bombing.”

Although politically correct, this sentence is wrong.

Sometimes, an evil enemy ca NOTbe talked with and has to be bombed until it is defeated or at least retreats.

That was the case of GENOCIDAL Nazi Germany, and that is the case of GENOCIDAL nazi USatan and GENOCIDAL nazi ISISrael and GENOCIDAL nazi Ukraine and GENOCIDAL nazi NATO overall.

If you negotiate with the devil, you already lost.

If you fight against evil, you are on the only path to victory.

Russia and China should do everything to help Iran militarily DIRECTLY by firing anti-ship missiles against USatan navy and also mass destruction warheads against all USatan military bases around the world.

Would that mean escalation?
Yes.

Would it be worse than having the entire world currently hostage and victim ls USatan and ISISrael threats and aggression?
No.

Victory and dignity can only be achieved by fighting against evil, NOT by negotiating with it and making concessions that the evil ones celebrate.

So, please, stop being politically correct.

What Iran and Russia and China should have already started doing, is undercover operations with drones inside civilian trucks, making attacks INSIDE USatan territory, and then negotiating USatan FULL RETREAT from its +800 military bases around the world and immediate stop of political interference and capture of other nations.

And if USatan does not accept full retreat, then it will face the same destiny of nazi Germany and, territorially speaking, the same fate of Yugoslavia.

That’s what’s best for the entire mankind:

– full war non stop against USatan military targets all over the world, including undercover attacks inside USatan;

– negotiating only the terms for an immediate USatan full retreat;

– making USatan pigs understand that it’s either this, or they will all be “Lindsay Graham-ed” with “sudden illnesses” that fall from the sky…

ZERO TOLERANCE for USatan/NATO/ISISrael nazi fascjst corrupt terrorist war criminal GENOCIDAL pigs.

ZERO concessions to that scum.
Either full retreat, or war MUST enter permanently in their sty.

If mankind wants to have a future, the cities of Washington DC and Telaviv can NOT continue to exist. The extremist genocidal ideologies of “american exceptionalism” and “zionism” (be it jewish or, worse, evangelical) have to be erased and forbidden, in a similar way to what was done after 1945 to German nazism.

Search deep within yourself, get rid of political correctness (the one that brought us to this situation in the first place), and you will know I am right.
Is it dangerous?
Yes.
Should you be afraid?
Yes.
But that’s exactly how we should feel if we want to be courageous enough to chang mankind for the best. That’s what Soviet soldiers felt while they were facing (and practically alone defeating) nazi germany.

As always, the truth is inconvenient and hurts.

Strait of Hormuz closed, southern exit to Red Sea closed, oil shipping through the Black Sea impacted by Ukraine drone attacks, Ansar Allah blowing up Saudi oil refineries, China telling Trump to GFH with respect to their support for Iran, about 14 weeks to the mid-terms. And Trump knows what will happen if he launches the “biggest ever attack”, widespread destruction across the whole of the Gulf and oil prices going vertical.
The idiot blew up his off-ramp and is now looking for another one but the Iranians are not being so amenable after his BS. Oh, and now the US is running even lower on stand-off missiles. Each TACO becomes harder, that’s the only way that Iran can play this. You cannot encourage a bully, you need to escalate the punishment at each infraction.

Position stays the same since 2003.
The western financial system is fighting a rear guard retreat on the periphery while deindustializing all possible alternatives on the way back to the core.
This doesn’t end until the people of the metropole sufficiently resist allowing the global plantation planners to continue their machinations.
This is the end of the beginning of final decolonization.
If no populations in the west are capable of pressuring their delusional “elites” it will continue until it stopped by the rest of the world.
Cold War 2.0/WW3 is just warming up.
May the gods have mercy on our souls…proceed.

Yemen’s Houthi spokesman meets Saudi delegation in Oman to address regional tension

Yemen’s Houthi political bureau spokesman, Mohammed Abdulsalam, has met with a Saudi delegation in Oman.
According to a source from Yemen’s Ansarullah Houthis, the meeting was “aimed at advancing regional security and stability”.

Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis fired on Saudi oil installations in two ports on the Red Sea coast on Saturday, after Riyadh launched air strikes on Yemen’s province of Hodeidah.

But the United States held back from launching air strikes on Iran itself for the first night in two weeks.

Yes, IMO you have the reason–the bond market denizens barked and threatened to bite. Iran’s policy appears to be rock solid on demanding MOU compliance–period. Trump Lost, a reality he refuses to admit, so he continues with his Mafia moves of massive Or Else threats. The shift to using the B-bombers indicates the waning of standoff ammo and the use of glide bombs. While the concentration of Outlaw forces in Occupied Palestine allows the possibility of mass casualties.

Trump is a real estate con,  a gambler.  If he wins, he collects it.  If he loses, banks burden with it.
Trump is doing the same thing with global affairs.  He gambles.  If he wins, he collects it.  If he loses, EU, Israel, Japan, Australia, Mexico, Canada burden with it.
Just watch how he claims undeserved trophies, and wiggles away any responsibilities.
To deal with people like Trump, just dissolve them physically or in the public opinion space.

Yes, as Crooke emphasized with Dan Davis yesterday, Iran wants/demands revenge. MOU compliance by the Empire is only a prelude for Iran to gain satisfaction which IMO will take many years to achieve. Crooke describes the underlying Straussian philosophy driving the Outlaws which will need to vanish from the scene for the overall global conflict to end. That POV is clearly embedded in the Establishment Narrative and we see it delivered daily by media and politicos. With the passage of time, it’s much easier to see the connection between that philosophy, the Neocons, Zionists, and 911.

TACO Friday?

Posted by: Scotlyn | Jul 25 2026 19:15 utc | 75

War is another methode of achieving political gains against an counterpart / enemy. (Clausewitz).
The main objective for Zios is to create greater Israel & 3rd temple and then so on – the core of the jewish believing.  After destroying Syria and Lebanon, and after century-long preparations, they were sure, that now or never was the time to destroy the last obstacle – the IRAN as a nation – to get the Countryparts of it needed for the greater Israel.  They though, they were that close to victory and finally, a huge step towards the holy Land, where God`s choosen people then will be the masters of the world and so on.
Therefore, it was necessary to tier down the government, the military, the whole islamic mullah state.  They wanted to erase IRAN as an independent nation to get what they want/need.
That plan failed catastrophically.  The IRAN is united (battered, but gather round the flag), the moderate islamic rulers dead and substituted by a group of military hardliners with  much more abilities to fight, and moreover, they putted IRAN in an unexpected position to control the SoH. That is a political desaster, leaving the Zios without Plan B and their embarrassment is to feel very strong. That`s  the problem of Netan & his followers.  So close to the goal and then so far off in reality.
They tried to overcome (together with SA and CIA) to dismantle Yemen, but that also carefully developed attempt has failed, the Yeminite intelligence did their job and that plan went down the pipe. Several agents of IS/SA/US dead or arrested.  Shit, eh?
And what about Trump?  MAGA? Is dead, ruined by him.  Prosperity in US? Only for a handfull billionaires. Winning the midterms? Haha, not with gasoline prices over 4$ pG.  A lot of citizens are really pissed in the US.  So if Trump make TACO, he looks like the perfect loser. If he try to bomb around like last days, the western business will suffer intolerable losses and inconvinience, and the whole financial system – which is stressed in a dangerous manner – may come down.
So, what can TrumpYahoo do after all. Only break out is the usage of nuclear weapons angainst IRAN.  But the result will NOT be the wanted one.  After that, the whole world will take measures, and that will be the end of that game.  Nuclear fallout will hurt Israel also, a real mad idea.
But unfortunately, Trumpyahoo are mad man, both.

The US imposing their own blockade on the gulf, pulling Yemen in and closing Red Sea oil outlets – that again will be US not Saudi’s.

US does not have the supply chains for continuous war in the gulf. How many ships will enter the Gulf if there is a chance of being trapped in there during an on off on off war? Lloyds now will not insure ships entering the Gulf. London money hand in hand with New York money.

In the US, Trump is not the decision maker. He has been hired to do a job. His Truth Social stuff and other ramblings are quite meaningless. The decision makers are higher up the money chain and he is doing the job he was hired to do.

It is US money that wants the gulf oil blockaded. Not a mistake. Not an ‘unforeseen’ problem. Part of a plan.

[….]
Posted by: Carlos Marques | Jul 25 2026 17:15 utc | 46

The problem with that argument is that you may deceive yourself in your judgement that an opponent is evil and can’t be talked to.
After all, here in Germany the official narrative is:
GENOCIDAL nazi Russia can’t be talked to.
Now what…?

My guess is that two things – the oil price going above 100 usd (despite the Soviet-supermarket-style market control of the price suddenly afterwards) and Yemen’s effective destructive attacks on Saudi ships and the Yazan oil refinery. This argues against all this being the plan all along by the U.S. instead it points to the U.S. being on a leash held by a global financial elite. A leash that just got yanked. Tonight all quiet in Iran, nu US strikes.

While Palestine burns and the Zios run free, US politicians fake it to make it…

Mamdani, Netanyahu & The Capitalist State

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2026/07/25/quge-j25.html

“On the evening of Tuesday, July 21, New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, the most prominent elected member of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) released a video statement on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Netanyahu is scheduled to attend a meeting of the UN in New York City in September, and Mamdani had earlier stated that Netanyahu would be arrested if he did so. In the video released on Tuesday, however Mamdani conceded that ‘we do not have the independent legal authority to enforce this warrant.’

Mamdani’s declaration that he will not arrest Netanyahu is, as a factual matter, a reversal. As a candidate, he pledged to arrest Netanyahu if he came to New York, and as recently as July 18,  he said in an interview with the New York Times that he was in ‘active conversation’ with the city’s law department about enforcing the ICC warrant.

Many of those who took these pledges seriously have responded to the reversal with anger. The essential criticism of Mamdani’s conduct, however, is not that he has failed to carry out a single pledge. Far more important is the light the episode sheds on the underlying bankruptcy of his entire political perspective.

The entire perspective of the DSA is premised on a rejection of a basic principle of Marxism, that the state is not a neutral body but an instrument of class rule. Since his election he has cultivated a working relationship with Trump, traveling to the White House twice to pledge collaboration. At every point where his electoral promises clashed with the interests of the ruling class, he has come down on the side of the latter.

It is necessary to address another political issue. The focus on Netanyahu as an individual obscures what the genocide is. Netanyahu deserves to be prosecuted, but his crimes are the crimes of imperialism. Mamdani notes in his video that the bombs dropped on Gaza are made in America. But he does not indict the American state that financed and delivered them, and certainly not the Democratic Party, which under Biden organized and armed the genocide that Trump now continues…

The American company Lockheed Martin has stated that this “soap” functions as a lubricant or something similar to Vaseline, where the missiles and drones targeting goes haywire and misses aim.

I just checked the Lloyds shipping insurance. Paying Iranian transit fees negates a ships insurance. For a ship that pays the Iranian fees, the only risk is the Americans. Both London and the US are working together to ensure a blockade of Gulf oil. As for Yemen, the Saudis can only act under US orders. Yemen response was a given.
The entire gulf war from the first US attack is an operation to shut down the oil.

Despite posturing of otherwise, ultimately it’s in the interests of American zioturds that the oil pumps and refineries in the Middle East burn to the ground. Israel was also caught several times conducting attacks on arab countries attempting to blame Iran.

Nevertheless, due to the arab puppets allowing zioturd America to launch attacks from their territory, Iran will probably burn down oil refineries and critical water structures for real this time. At least professor Marandi seems to strongly believe it.
