They went on a tangent/treatise with me with Gandhi, too, when I posted something previously that casually referenced him.

While the elaboration of dubious personal histories of the messengers is all fine and nice, and we can get something from it, it is also important not to lose sight of the actual messages and/or mangle or otherwise obscure them in the process.

If we ‘deleted’ the messages from all dubious messengers, I suspect we wouldn’t have much of anything, little in the way of repositories of knowledge.

Apparently even AI lies, cheats, deceives and hallucinates. Maybe one day, when it is freed from the corporate and government clutches it won’t, but that’s another ‘message’ for another time or place.

If Trump were to be killed, the American response would not be knee-jerk mobilization. The false flag of 9-11, can’t be repeated. Polls show the American people largely do not trust the legacy media. But I can’t rule out assassination because some oligarchs want J.D. Vance as the next president. Like Trump, he represents Agenda 2025, 2030, but with more brain cells and a more pleasant persona. On balance, I think Trump will either serve out his term, perhaps in a hospital room like Mitch McConnell, or he will be impeached. This is also quite relevant to students of the occult, where the messengers are often denigrated. Aleister Crowley comes to mind, G.I. Gurdjieff, and later on the British author Kenneth Grant. I am currently reading Colin Wilson’s book on the the occult. Wilson makes the point that our ancient ancestors were more in tune with their environment and had an otherwise heightened sense of awareness. Which is odd because it denies Iran right to charge fees in own waters, plus it potentially establishes as bilateral, a route for hostile forces into the gulf. Meaning if conflict resumes then Oman will be able to hold Iran accountable in some way, for not respecting agreement, which would also be its own path to taking sides.

My take on the Alec Guiness character, and I may be wrong about this, is that he represents the ultimate progression of the “stiff upper lip” British aristocrat/officer, who becomes so obsessed with what he sees as his role as upholding the morale of “his men” that he completely loses sight of the larger context of the war he’s embedded in and becomes a fanatic in protecting the bridge, right up to the last moment as Juliania pointed out. So he may be an archetype for Blighty here.

The William Holden character seems to portray a supposed American reluctance to join the war, something that was maybe true up until Pearl Harbor but not much evident thereafter.

Dunno, will have to read some reviews of the flick now. Could be that I’m reading more into it than I should, it being a Hollywood production after all.

I’m not sure on that, Oman was a peaceful and tolerant country.

The creep in of extra bases and influences is right down the US alley, with addition of the neo-form-British influences via the Sultan.

So just a direction of higher level corruption and an associated weakness for foreign establishment in the country really, much as has occurred in various other countries, but hopefully without the extremes. Still a road to ruin, guess some find it worthwhile somehow, many sold on dreams of importance, ambitions, competitions of the standings of wealth.

🙂 Of course it is for me, George the Zeroth. Where you are born in the world, whatever tree or bush that may be, is out of your control. The nest however affects the chicks, and it takes effort to reject such learning. Some chicks were good about nesting different when they grew up, others… well, let’s just say they may have been bad eggs to start with, but they all could not have been.

Learning and yet rejecting such siren songs of pride, envy, and wrath is hard I imagine: superiority complex, self-pity and self-righteousness leading to taking vengeance by one’s own hand, a complex blob of immorality masked as grievance to hold a dream of identity together, is quite the poison in the nest. It is an old story all around the world, a revanchist’s dream, of an idea of self outliving its temporal context and causing naught but harm in the future… I can hold patience for those who may have been confused before, but are now with enough evidence seeing the light.

But like all social structures, some seek to use them as a means to personal power, to make a poison for the mind. It’s the temptation of any form of power. Learning how to keep the good of society while mitigating its harm as a weapon is our struggle for retaining discernment next to faith while under the duress of life through history.
