War On Iran: – Vance-Rubio Struggle – Oman Supports ‘Fees’

Vice President JD Vance was heavily involved in the ceasefire MoU with Iran. The first part of the Memorandum extended the ceasefire to Lebanon and was supposed to guarantee it sovereignty.

At the same time or shortly thereafter Secretary of State Marco Rubio negotiated an agreement with Lebanon and Israel which guarantees a continuation of the Israeli invasion and occupation of Lebanese land.

The Lebanon agreement is thus a direct attack on the MoU with Iran.

Via The Cradle we find some interesting speculation how this is an expression of a power struggle within Trump’s White House coterie:

The agreement between Lebanon and Israel cannot be understood through bilateral negotiations alone. It also reflects shifting power dynamics in Washington, where US policy toward Lebanon is shaped not only by official institutions, but by competition within the administration and the Republican Party, alongside pressure from pro-Israel lobbying groups, particularly the Zionist lobby and the hardline Lebanese Christian lobby.

[This] is reflected in the quiet contest within the American right, particularly between US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who represents the traditional pro-Israel Republican establishment, and Vice President JD Vance, whose camp has been more cautious about US involvement in West Asia.

According to sources familiar with the matter, these tensions have extended beyond policy differences. Vance was reportedly angered after learning that Rubio had been planning a tour of the Gulf without consulting him beforehand. He also suspected Rubio of working behind the scenes with US envoys Jared Kushner, and possibly Steve Witkoff, in ways that could undermine Vance’s diplomatic achievements. Those close to Vance increasingly believe that Rubio, Kushner, and Senator Lindsey Graham have formed an informal alliance aimed at sidelining him ahead of the next presidential race.

Rubio has long be captured by the Zionist lobby while Vance is creature of tech tech billionaires. Which side has more firepower if there is a competition?

After U.S.-Iran War, Oman Said to Propose Hormuz Fee Plan (archived) – NY Times

Iran and U.S.-allied Oman are moving forward with plans to collect payment for ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz, despite public American objections, according to an Iranian official and four diplomats with knowledge of the matter.

Oman recently delivered a formal proposal to the United States and other Western allies that outlined a plan in which shipping companies would pay service fees to use the strait, according to the Iranian official and a regional diplomat.

A person familiar with the U.S. position confirmed that American negotiators had received the Omani proposal and said that they had concerns that they intended to discuss with Omani officials.

Oman’s proposal is partly modeled on arrangements in the Straits of Malacca and Singapore, an Asian waterway where a private foundation collects voluntary contributions for safe navigation, the regional diplomat said.

Any fees in the Strait of Hormuz would be voluntary, the diplomat said. The Iranian official, however, said that the payments would be obligatory.

The U.S. will certainly put pressure on Oman to refrain from any agreement with Iran about ‘fees’.

A better strategy for Iran would be to stop talking about tolls or fees and to depict the future contributions to Iran by ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz as reparation down-payments for the damage the USraeli war on Iran has wreaked.

The global public would likely understand that reasoning and agree with such ‘fees’.

Oman could take a share of the money and distribute it to those Gulf states where war damage on private property had also occurred.

Rubio and Kushner. Both are names common together on most “alliances” regarding Russia, Taiwan, Africa and the ME.
Rubio has been drawn into a Zionist influence, while Kushner has been drawn into an influence of major international drug traffickers. This makes for a powerful push that will out muscle JD Vance.
There are fundamental differences between these two power groups and where they will lead America.
Trump chooses the Rubio/Jared over the Vance and tech billionaires. While Wall Street chooses Vance.
When the mid terms get nearer, a split will emerge publicly and Trump’s future will be decided.

as for dividing iran and oman – obviously this is the goal of usa-israel, while the ongoing goal of iran needs to be dividing usa and israel…  i suppose it depends who has the most leverage, which will be underhanded either way… so, we’ll see how it develops. thanks for the present overview here…

Nima and Marandi discussed both topics at length in today’s chat. The Lebanon crap is unconstitutional and is designed to foment civil war. The MOU grants IRAN the sole right to regulate Hormuz in every possible aspect. Until a treaty ending the war is signed and ratified, a state of war will exist between Iran, the Outlaw US Empire, Zionists, and the Gulf nations that allowed their territory to be used in the aggression. International law states that straits like Hormuz can be completely regulated by littoral states as they see fit when a state of war exists. And IMO, that state will exist for many months if not years as with the Korean example. Turkey has also raised its fees for transit through the Bosporus, yet you hear no shouts of outrage from BigLie Media for that.

In that conflict, the Zionists would win out unfortunately. They are ruthless enough to contrive some major market-crushing event that wipes out much of the tech-bros book net worth, regardless of any consequences for themselves or effects on the wider global economy.

Obama got himself elected in 2008 by pretending to be an outsider.  Trump in ’16 & ’24 got in with the Drain the Swamp con.  Now we’re getting this narrative that Vance is trying to stop the war and the warmongering…give me a break!

I would not begin to guess at, nor name, the number of factions within the oligarchy.  I doubt any of us can be certain.  Instead I try to learn from past lessons in order to know what to expect in the future.  Covid was a valuable learning experience.

The oligarchs learned that they can impose a police state on western society and 75% of the population will fully support them.  In other words, the oligarchy has no need to fear revolution from within.  It’s not 1789 with the Bastille about to be stormed.  It’s more like 1726, the oligarchs feeling like Louis XIV and expecting to dominate for generations.  Which means domestic backlash for their imperial wars is the last thing they are concerned about.

What we also learned during the fake pandemic is that it didn’t take much to derail the oligarchs police state.  Just some Canadian truckers driving to Ottawa and setting up a Bouncy Ball fun fair.  The oligarchs were all on board when the lockdowns kicked off, however the Bouncy Ball blowback was too much for some factions to handle and they bailed on their police state…for now.

Funny how these people can sponsor the slaughter of citizens in foreign countries without any pangs of conscience but embarrass them publicly and they go to pieces.  They really do believe their own propaganda.  Like the wonderful public image they have of themselves.

Bottomline: they’ll use the economic/energy crisis to reimpose their police state.  They’ll be confident 75% of the citizens will fall over themselves to see who can be the most obedient fascist.  Thus the oligarchs will all be together, united in a common cause, in the beginning.

It’s up to the 25% to say no.  Not fart around wearing masks for 18 months but to say NO firmly from the start.  Then watch the oligarch factions splinter.  They’re great fair weather totalitarians, however the slightest adversity and the rats begin fleeing the sinking ship.

a reminder that the “reparation” labeled reimbursement fees you want to change too as a label,  would require long integrated legal process naming US/Allies as guilty aggressor’s, proving & recording that legality,  therefore deeming reparations as an instrument of legal compensation,  then how is that to be appropriated?  By whom? And eventually passed via UNSC, for implementation,  which would never happen.

Using existing legal methods, currently on the books & recognized,  as fee’s,  is the quickest & best way to insure their reparations,  since the West will never pay them  or recognize they owe them.

Eventually all this scuttle butt about fees will end, it will normalize as being a part of the straight transit,  and that’s it.  IMO

Iran FM slams US Homeland Security chief’s World Cup ‘happy dance’ remark

Iran’s Foreign Minister Araghchi has criticised US Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin following a report that the latter had done a “happy dance” over Iran’s elimination from the World Cup.
“‘Mission Accomplished,’ Mr. Mullin,” Araghchi wrote.
“You also accomplished something else: proving to the world that you have no business hosting an international tournament,” he said, adding that Mullin’s conduct had been “a masterclass for how to squander the dignity that comes with being a host”.

Like world politics, Washington politics is extremely complex. First, there are far m ore than two or three, or four major interest groups in Washington. Each faction is made up of factions that have very specific interests. The Zionist grouping which consists of many factions some of which are more concerned with the defense and spread of Western Civilization and don’t mind if the WC is genocidal–only that it succeeds. This is your normal Jewish-influenced (but not necessarily the Greater Israel/Jewish suprematist) Neocon grouping everyone is familiar with–it has little to do with political party and makes up the majority of thinktankland and officially approved academics. Allied with these people are your rabid savages like the Israeli leadership and Jewish suprematist and Christian Zionist “conservatives” who rally around the Graham group of neofascist Senators like Cotton et. al.Then there are your finance oligarchs and “owners” of the USA who have mixed feeling about Israel (not all oligarchs are Zionists) and among those owners are the tech billionaires whose power is increasing and who have yet to fully engage in their brand of politics–these guys are working towards a neofeudal order where war may or  may not be useful to their aims. I suspect the Iran War may not be in their interests and I think they like the idea of aligning with that part of the public that is not captured by the official propaganda organs (MSM), Hollywood, etc., who are able to think for themselves to some extent–this demographic is growing rapidly and the tech guys are anxious to capture those people to allow them pursue their agenda to set up a new form of feudalism (it’s either that or totalitarianism). This is why, in the long run, the reptilians in the Deep State may not win and, by the 2028 election the opposing anti-war forces may have seized power from the Zio-Neocons and assorted reptilians in the Senate and the Administration. These nasty monsters will get, in compensation, part of a looted Treasury but it will be worth it. Then, we have other things to worry about, but I think War! Inc. will be on their way out. War is only useful for making money and the tech guys have other ways of doing that.

Vance is a “creature of tech tech billionaires”? Maybe.

But.

There once was a big country with an old, weak and sick president who was controlled by a clique of rich, powerful and amoral oligarchs. When the president finally retired, the prime minister became president. The oligarchs had promoted this man because he was a brilliant manager, but with a cautious nature. They thought they had him under control. But soon the new president disempowered the same corrupt oligarchs who had supported him before.

I’m observing Vance very closely, and I think he’s too intelligent to function as a “creature”. He certainly knows when to keep his mouth shut, but this doesn’t mean he’s fully under control of the Thiels and Musks.

Interesting analogy, let’s see how things play out. There are several differences. Putin was in the KGB and got to view the world through the prism of an intelligence agency. He also at least would have absorbed some of the worldview of the USSR in understanding the root cause of contradictions in the world, which informed his decisions. US ideology is that money = power and that is justified in controlling the world, it explains their American exceptionalism.

The Russian oligarchs mainly wanted to be left alone to enjoy the vast wealth they got from asset stripping the USSR. By contrast, the new American oligarchs (such as Thiel) have a greater interest in running the main elements of the US economy Ponzi scheme. Through his role as a venture capitalist, Thiel has placed his “proteges” in the tech giants (Alexandr Wang at Meta is one such product, not to mention Palantir), as well as the nominal government structure of the US (Vance) which already is captured by corporate interests and will not regulate unproductive financial speculation. These differences are vast and reflect the differences in the fundamental nature of American society and the society which created Putin.

😉 Who cares about the puppets? Just aim the gaffing hook on the puppeteers to get the whole damn lot off the stage!

Vance is on his humiliation ritual tour; it’s required if he even wants to think about runnning in the future (for anything). Rubio is being set up with more fake accolades, because he’s the inside pocket choice for the fools who still watch the Compromised Press. None of these agreement papers are worth anything compared to toilet paper (by the West’s own record of actions, even to the recent and big deal SALT Treaty lapses and their ilk). And Oman is doing the “neutral” fan dance delaying tactics for its own survival at this point — good luck! because there’s no such thing as neutral to a consistent evil this big, old, and relentless.

This skit is tired and wouldn’t cut it any longer in vaudeville, no new grease paint makes it any fresher. Why pretend any of this matters? The whole point is waiting for the petroleum reserves to bottom, bonds go tits up (did someone say tits?! 😀 /cheep ), and watch the real game afoot thereafter. If we’re lucky it’ll be a happy ending to another sad imperial epoch.

Vance should say explicitly that Palantir et al should be de-coupled from the US systems because they are Zionist-Israeli and the US should have its own proprietary systems.

I didn’t hear any strong or even any weak endorsement from Vance for the Massie-Khanna bill:

https://israelpalestinenews.org/house-blocks-massie-khanna-effort-to-kill-us-israel-integration/

What is Vance’s opinion on AIPAC and beyond, i.e. the Jewish Zionist funding netork labyrinth?

How about Citizens United and what came before and what has come after which have even further entrenched Zionist financial-corporate control over the people?

Has Vance used the word genocide or the tamer ‘ethnic cleansing’?

Does Vance even use the word Zionist?:

‘Gentle citizens of all persuaisons, I know you guys know that we are essentially taken over by Zionists at this point and I’m here to state firmly that I am not one of them and that I welcome their hate!’

Even if the idea is that he can’t say or address these things explicitly because of their power he nevertheless doesn’t even hint at them in a roundabout way.

Vance supports ICE which is internal Palestinianation of the population in a myriad number of ways that I won’t delve into here.

MB has mostly supported terrorism that is why those you call puppets dont like it. This regards Syrias Assad in the 80s when Assad finished MB there.  Second Iran had Khomeini imposed on them by MB as usual working for the imperialists. But that is long ago. The current Iranian leaders (those the enemy hasnt yet murdered) are not like Khomeini. He couldnt even speak the language which could indicate that earlier there was no plan to use him like that. The plan may have come around 1975 when the US/UK thinktanks and french anthropologists wanted to destroy Irans industrialisation. The Germans e.g H J Ponto was in favour of a new financial instrument supporting development of poor countries. Anthropology was employed in order to figure out how Khomeini could be used to make the population embrace backwardness using religion. I dont necessarily consider all aspects of religion being backward but those western plotters aimed to use it for causing backwardness.

The global public would likely understand that reasoning and agree with such ‘fees’.

Thanks to our host for his always insightful work, and to so many commenters for so much food for thought. I always read all the comments before posting and am often overwhelmed by so many worthy points being made that I often don’t know where to begin!
The above came from our host and I respectfully disagree. I don’t believe the opinions and beliefs of the “global public” mean anything to those running the shows; if they did, the world would be a very different and likely far more pleasant place to inhabit, though I may be dreaming with respect to the latter. As a member of that public for my long adult life on four continents, I’ve grown very cynical and extremely provincial, as in I concern myself mostly with what directly affects me and my family, with an emphasis on local and with diminishing concern as we work our way up the ladder from local to global. As a dual EU/USA citizen with permanent residence in a third country on another continent, it’s all a bit too much for me, to be honest.
In a nutshell, I oppose the US/Zionist positions, believe the Chinese model is best for South American nations and perhaps even Europe, wish Russia the best in their endeavor and favor multipolarity in trade. Isolationism has its merits in terms of autarky where possible and in terms of cultural cohesion.

Ghalibaf: Iran monitoring US deal implementation, Lebanon clause key

Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says the US is required to commit to ending the war in Lebanon under the broader memorandum with Tehran.

…..Ghalibaf said Iran considers the developments in the Gulf over recent nights to be a violation of the ceasefire, while noting that the scale of Israeli attacks on Lebanon has become significantly greater than it was prior to the Switzerland talks.

Ghalibaf said the United States has, under the memorandum, committed to ending the Israeli war on Lebanon and guaranteeing its sovereignty, calling this a “major victory.”

He said Article 1 of the agreement includes provisions for ending hostilities in Lebanon, ensuring the return of displaced people, and respecting Lebanon’s sovereignty over its entire territory…..

Rubio is on the AIPAC payroll and their chosen candidate for POTUS in 2028.

Rubio pushing for illegal and unconstitutional seeding of Lebanese government to the control of IDF is a massive mistake……..the only political group in Lebanon supporting this travesty is one faction of the Maronite movement (the Phalangists), the pro Syrian Maronite faction does not support the supplication to the occupiers and genociders……..

Vance is a traditional Republican isolationist and America firster…..nothing wrong with that, just ask Tucker Carlson……….

*** Rubio being a mormon, doesnt that imply being a zionist anyway?” Though American in origin, Mormonism was deeply shaped by 19th-century British-Israelite concepts of the “Gathering of Israel.” In 1841, Joseph Smith sent an apostle, Orson Hyde, to Jerusalem to formally dedicate the land for the return of the Jewish people.” ***

Not sure about “British-Israelite” notions being to blame for Mormon Zionism.
But there seem to have been various BI groups, so maybe some were more compatible than others with Jewish Zionism — and Hyde must have met those who were, while ignoring the rest.

Met a few BIs years ago …. they were fairly old, and British upper-middle class …. certainly not Jews.

Contrary to Israel/Zionist propagandists, they did not regard most present day “Israelis” as being anything whatever to do with ancient Israelites.

In fact, those I met regarded themselves as being the real Israelite descendants of the original Israelites, and most Israelis as deluded opportunists and impostors!

An eccentric set of theories, mistakes and assumptions …..

“…  future contributions to Iran by ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz as reparation down-payments for the damage the USraeli war on Iran has wreaked… The global public would likely understand that reasoning and agree with such ‘fees’.” – b

Nonsense. Why should the rest of the world pay for the damages caused by the war between US/Israel and Iran?
I am not pro-US/Israel nor pro-Iran. Just because US/Israel were on the wrong and committed war crimes does not mean the rest of the world has the obligation to pay Iran for the damages.
The unquestioned pro-Iran bias of this site (owner b as well as the commenters) is destroying its objectivity and credibility. The other glaring example happened a few days ago when b and many commenters describe the MOU as an “unconditional surrender” by US – which is totally false. The MOU is a reasonably fair way to pause the war, so it is a positive development we should applaud. I know it is facing lots of difficulties and doubts, but I truly hope that it can be fully implemented. By mocking and laughing at Trump and the MOU, commenters are actually aligning themselves with the evil warmongers that want the war to continue.

I don’t believe there is any competition between Vance and Rubio. This is just good cop bad cop dynamics. The USA needed a different operation since the regime change failed. So you accept Iran’s terms to give a pause to put a different dynamic in place. And confuse everybody as you talk about the great opening and record amounts of oil coming out of the gulf only to start operations completely the opposite of the MOU. It is basically Anchorage (Russia/Ukraine) all over again. Supposedly Russia even warned Ukraine that the MOU is irrelevant right after they agreed to it. That is just a psyops to limit their responses as the USA continues to push in every direction it can.

Why would anyone be surprised that Rubio would be carrying out the desires of the Zionist Neocons, the ones that always infect either side of US politics? He is a Neocon and has always been. Top Neocon Robert Kagan has been active since the 1990s and his Jewish-Zionist and conservative Christian belligerents were also behind the George W. Bush administration. He’s been critical of Trump and his Iran venture for many months now. Jewish mafia prevails. Let’ s not mention wifey Victoria Nuland of Maidan infamy in Ukraine either, and the Neocons like Anthony Blinken in Biden’s past disastrous administration. No matter what party gets elected they always get a job at the top and later rewarded for the inhuman disasters they cause in other peoples’ countries.

New data from @TankerTrackers indicates that Iran has exported 50M barrels of oil outside the perimeter of the US Blockade line since it was “unofficially” lifted on June 15th.
This shakes out to an approximate export rate of ~3.4M barrels per day. Their pre-conflict export rate generally sat at around 1.7Mbpd… meaning Iran is effectively exporting at DOUBLE their standard rate…..

As it currently stands, Iran will still have about ~10M barrels still loaded onto tankers inside the Strait of Hormuz, and then another ~60M barrels in onshore storage containers. Assuming that they are able to maintain roughly this same 3.4Mbpd export rate, this means that all of their oil will out of reach of the US (mostly) in the next 2-3 weeks. After that… the odds that they re-close the Strait jumps significantly…..

Lebanese parliament speaker vows to block US-brokered agreement with Israel

Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri has pledged to lead political opposition to a controversial US-mediated framework agreement with Israel, vowing to block its ratification in parliament.
In remarks to Elnashra on Tuesday, Berri said he plans to unite opponents of the proposed agreement into a broad national bloc capable of preventing its approval by lawmakers.

“Those who drafted this document will have to deal with me and a very large number of lawmakers,” he warned.
Berri said he is working to prevent political tensions from escalating into wider unrest…..

…..Berri, who also heads the Amal Movement, recalled that Lebanon’s parliament rejected the May 17, 1983 agreement with Israel in 1984, describing it as an “oppressive treaty.”
He stated that the current proposal is “ten times worse,” saying its purpose is “to provoke internal strife.”…..

….Senior Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah has also denounced the US-mediated framework agreement, describing it as a “humiliation,” a “disgrace,” and a virtual surrender of Lebanese sovereignty.

The lawmaker said the Lebanese government has “no fear about selling out southern Lebanon and its residents and exonerating the occupiers from past, present, and future crimes.”…….

Rubio has long be captured by the Zionist lobby while Vance is creature of tech tech billionaires. Which side has more firepower if there is a competition?

The side that makes money has the edge.  The pro zionist faction needs continual force to stay on top.  Left without that force, like aipac funding and jewish media control, its a losing proposition.
Its(zionism) ability to deliver political power for its tools is the key.  If it loses that, then its got nothing but dirty tricks left which is a  losing strategy long term.  Carrot and stick doesn’t work with just sticks.

Posted by: Neofeudalfuture | Jul 1 2026 2:31 utc | 81

He (Vance) also suspected Rubio of working behind the scenes with US envoys Jared Kushner, and possibly Steve Witkoff, in ways that could undermine Vance’s diplomatic achievements.

b on June 30, 2026 at 17:31 UTC

Is there anything to this? My research said Vance is positioned as the “face” of the negotiations, representing the administration at the most visible political level . His presence at the table, as the second-highest U.S. official, gives the talks historic weight . His role was publicly reinforced when he was sent to lead the team for the initial high-level talks in Islamabad and Switzerland

Once this high-level stage was set, the day-to-day, technical negotiations were handed off to envoys like Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff . Vance himself noted he could only be present for “a day or two” in Switzerland, with Kushner and Witkoff staying to handle the “technical elements” . They are the ones in Doha for the detailed implementation talks

Vance’s current role is primarily the symbolic public-facing political figurehead for the process, while the details and implementation grunt work are managed by the specialized envoys.

The narrative pushed by The Cradle, is plausible but not a settled fact. A power struggle between Vance and Rubio is a story that multiple news outlets are reporting, based on the same palace intrigue emanating from the same anonymous officials.  However, multiple other senior officials and White House spokespeople strongly deny these claims.

In short, the claims are spurious in the sense that they are unconfirmed rumors, but they are not baseless. Media beat up? Probably. Leaked by high end political camps? No one else would bother. That there are competing camps looking to the next presidential race is as obvious as the sky is blue and the nose on your face. It’s surely unimportant to the serious MoU negotiations.

TEHRAN, June 30 (Xinhua) — Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Esmaeil Baghaei said on Tuesday that a large number of officials from both regional and non-regional countries have voiced readiness to attend the funeral ceremonies of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Speaking at a weekly press conference in Tehran, Baghaei described the ceremonies as the “most important event” in the coming days in Iran, the West Asia region, and beyond.
He said that all neighboring countries will send representatives, and that Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi’s recent visit to Iraq was partly aimed at coordinating the ceremonies there.
Ali Akbar Pourjamshidian, Iran’s deputy interior minister and head of the funeral organizing headquarters, said at a press conference on Tuesday that more than 30 countries and religious leaders from over 90 countries have voiced their readiness to attend the funeral ceramonies.
Pourjamshidian noted that a ceremony will be held in Tehran on Friday with the presence of foreign leaders, officials, and religious figures to pay tribute to the late leader.
He said that farewell ceremonies in Tehran will begin at Imam Khomeini’s Mosalla prayer hall on Saturday morning and continue through Sunday. A funeral procession is scheduled for Monday, expected to draw large crowds from Iran and other regional states.
On July 7, there will be a ceremony in Iran’s central city of Qom, and on July 8, the leader’s body will be transferred to Iraq for further rites. He will be laid to rest in the northeastern Iranian city of Mashhad on July 9, according to Pourjamshidian.
Ali Khamenei was killed in a U.S. and Israeli strike in Tehran on Feb. 28. His son, Mojtaba Khamenei, was selected as Iran’s new supreme leader by the Assembly of Experts in March.

WHAT HAPPENED TO IRAQ LAST WEEK, ACCORDING TO JOURNALIST ELIJAH MAGNIER

“The next step is going to be the disarmament of the non-state actors in the country. Iraqi officials said it is an ‘anti-corruption’ operation. Yes, it is an anti-corruption operation because any prime minister who pursues ‘anti-corruption’ will have the support of the people.”

“The Prime Minister of Iraq stated that he will give until the 13th of September as the deadline for the non-state actors to be disarmed.”

“What the Prime Minister of Iraq is doing is moving with the Americans. First is to disarm the Iraqi Hezbollah, because the resistance in Iraq threatens to attack Syria if Jolani invades South Lebanon.”

This is what the Americans are working on the very long term operation.
The PM of Iraq will visit Washington in the next few days.

Got to love the symbolism with the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool on which Trump has apparently spent US $16 million to glorify his own presidency once again.

Paint peeling off the bottom and algal blooming already ruining the reflection of the narcissistic president.  Are the ancient Greek gods against him?

As in the myth, Narcissus fell in love with his own reflection in a pool of water leading to his eventual demise.

You cannot make this stuff up.

Wet-lipped, slump-faced, slack-jawed, dead-eyed, sanctimonious retards so easily manipulated into blaming Trump for everything.

Extrapolating from the photo of the negotiating teams in the linked article, no one in the room believe the scheme is going anywhere, and was the result of sudden exceptional pressure. Presumably either the world economy will have crashed, or the war fully resumes (or both), well before any implementation would be logistically possible. It is already politically impossible. The arguments of the representative of the Lebanese presidency, as presented in the article, are notably weak and contradictory.

Framework Deal Draws Broad Opposition

“The breadth of opposition is politically significant. It extends beyond Hezbollah and its traditional ally Amal to Jumblatt, the Free Patriotic Movement and other forces that are not uniformly aligned with Hezbollah. Support has so far been concentrated among a smaller group of parties, largely within the Christian right…”

“The presidency has portrayed the Washington negotiations as an assertion of Lebanese independence from Iran. According to the presidential source, one of the agreement’s central objectives was to demonstrate that Lebanon was not merely a bargaining card in Tehran’s negotiations with Washington.”

“According to the source, Lebanon had requested the security annex remain secret, saying the US State Department asked both parties whether they wanted it kept confidential and both agreed. Another controversial provision requires Lebanon and Israel to halt hostile or adverse activity against one another in international political and legal forums… The presidential source defended the negotiating team’s position, saying it believed Israel could benefit more from international litigation because Hezbollah had initiated the fighting by firing the first rockets.”

“For now, Lebanon appears to have entered a phase of controlled confrontation: widespread rejection of the agreement combined with a shared reluctance to allow the dispute to become violent. Part of that restraint stems from Arab and American intervention. But it also reflects a belief that the Washington framework may not be implemented in its current form.”
