War On Iran: – Iran Needs Escalation To Avoid The Ceasefire Trap

A typical U.S. tactic against a strategic target is to ‘boil the frog’ by slowly increasing the temperature of the water it is sitting it. The conflict in Ukraine is an good example for this. Hits against Russia, directed by the CIA, are escalated bit by bit while Russia is reluctant to more severe deterrence measures.

The current war on Iran is another example. The U.S. is insisting on a ceasefire while trying to erode Iran’s leverage with economic strangulation.

Iran’s major weapon, the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, will need another month or two to fully unfold its intended effect on the U.S. and global economy. Meanwhile the U.S. is trying to tire Iran with fake diplomacy, economic measures (its blockade) and pinpoint strikes.

But Iran is well aware of this tactic. It has decided to avoid this ceasefire trap by continuous escalation:

The United States and Israel are using this [ceasefire] period to reshape realities on the ground, weaken Iran’s leverage, and arrive at a negotiating table where Tehran’s position has already been quietly eroded. This perception is strengthening those within the Islamic Republic who argue that diplomatic restraint, under current conditions, carries its own strategic costs.

The delay in finalizing the memorandum of understanding is increasingly interpreted as purposive rather than procedural and as a U.S. attempt to use the passage of time as a strategic instrument. The concern is that each week of ceasefire, with American military and economic pressure continuing unabated and Iranian restraint producing no reciprocal concessions, represents a net erosion of the position Tehran believes it secured during the forty days of active fighting.

Iran has decided to respond to this ‘boiling-the-frog’ tactic by increasing the cost for even the slightest U.S. attack. It is no longer responding in kind. Each U.S. strike is answered by hitting back stronger and against more targets. As Rob Campbell provides of the skirmish of June 2:

Late at night, the Americans hit an Iranian oil tanker and the Iranians retaliated with an attack on an USraeli vessel. The Americans also targeted the control tower on Qeshm Island and the Iranians responded with attacks on US Kuwaiti bases at Ali Al- Salem and Arifjan and the Fifth Fleet base. Bahrain also came under attack and it airspace closed to all traffic. It is claimed that 136 Shahed drones were seen above Kuwait while heavy damage was inflicted on Kuwait’s only international airport which has been closed.

Satellite images indicate damage to a hanger which housed drones and aircraft at Ali al-Salem airbase in Kuwait

The Iranians also attacked the Kurdish Separatist group at their HG in Erbil (Iraqi Kurdistan).

Iran has warned the Americans that they will respond to future attacks with increased intensity. which they appear to be doing.

The increased intensity is designed to avoid the trap:

As economic pressure mounts, Israel continues its campaign against Hezbollah, and Washington works to reduce the strategic significance of Hormuz before any deal is concluded, more voices within the Islamic Republic are arriving at the conclusion that leverage must be actively defended before it can be usefully negotiated.

Iran wants an agreement with the U.S. but is also expecting and prepared for a new round of war. For political reason President Trump is, for now, trying to avoid both, an agreement with Iran and renewed fighting. He continues to ignore Iran’s escalation. But he will have to respond (archived) if it ends up killing U.S. soldiers:

President Trump has told aides privately that he would consider ending the ceasefire with Iran if Tehran kills American troops, U.S. officials said, insisting that the weekslong pause in airstrikes remains intact despite a steady stream of violent skirmishes.

The president’s reluctance to reignite the war suggests he might be willing to withstand smaller flare-ups for weeks—or even months—to avoid a broader conflict in the Middle East.

Trump is following the advice of Israeli lobbyists who are urging him (archived) to wait for now and to hit Iran later:

Mark Dubowitz of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies has argued that Trump should use the cease-fire to get the American economy back on track, and then only later, in the fall, to “start to think about returning to major military operations but not doing it before the midterms, when the knock-on effects could be very difficult for him politically.”

Iran is well aware of Trump’s current dilemma. It is in its interest to keep the conflict hot and going rather than to let it cool down now only to flare up later. The increase of severity of its (retaliatory) strikes against U.S. assets will thus continue:

Iran’s navy has said that it fired warning missiles and drones at US warships in the Gulf of Oman on Friday.

It accused the American navy of harassing maritime traffic and seizing commercial vessels and oil tankers, according to Iranian state media.

So far Iran had only hit at U.S. ground assets in the Gulf region. Those attacks have caused sever damage but only few casualties. Until now Iran had avoided strikes on warships as such attacks tend to cause dead and wounded in higher numbers.

But to keep Trump engaged will require more serious measures. Iran needs to increase its leverage before time starts to erode it.

The ‘warning missiles’ against U.S. warships are an escalation. But they are not sufficient to move Trump.

In a day or a two one one of the ‘warning’ missiles will likely (have to) reach its target.

Trump can hold out much longer than the pro-Iranian optimists anticipate.
Trump is no longer the one calling the shots. As long as Israel isn’t begging for peace, Trump does whatever they tell him to do.
All the negotiations are just smoke screens to give Israel the time it needs to conquer Lebanon as it sees fit.
So Israel must be attacked directly and decisively.

But Israel cant conquer Lebanon. They cant even conquer Gaza, a tiny piece of land occupied by the original occupants, now impoverished starving prisoners equipped with homemade arms. Israelis dont have a martial culture, theyre cowardly killers and sadistic and ethnic supremacists who piss their pants in firefights. I mean theres video evidence, watch the IDF clowns clear buildings like theyre playing CounterStrike. Israel might seize land from Lebanon, but there is no victory or glory for them there, nor will any gains last more than a few decades.

As the ability of the US to bribe and blackmail diminishes, so too will its hold over the many countries whose politics it has seized. And those traitors who sold their countries out might find that they and their progeny face consequences.

Agree with our host and other commenters … when one is dealing with a dishonorable, agreement incapable monster like this, the actual peace agreement is meaningless. They have already shown that perfidy is their middle name and they care nothing about the rules of war in this and other theaters.

So the only thing that may lead to genuine long term peace is a balance of fear and pain: not necessarily equal pain, but definitely mutual. Make it so that if they ever again think of attacking, they remember the pain and get dissuaded. if they think of not living up to the agreement, the pain comes back immediately.

A factor you missed is that the US navy is stretched thin and can’t keep the blockade going longer without serious stress, IMO.

and then there is this from ZH

“In continuation of operations to counter maritime misconduct and harassment, as well as the hijacking of commercial vessels and oil tankers by the terrorist naval forces of the United States, following the firing of warning missiles, the hostile destroyers DDG-103 and DDG-8 have left the Gulf of Oman towards the Indian Ocean,” Iranian military forces wrote in a statement published by state news agency IRNA.

I can’t see time working in favor of Trump and the US. Strategic oil reserves are dwindling and with them the stamina to drag out the war. Iran just needs to play the Bab al-Mandab card to strangle the west completely. And any serious escalation will lead straight to that action. But even if Trump manages to drag the ceasefire into autumn and nothing else happens, the reserve clock is ticking away and will cause severe damage to the world economy starting within a few weeks from now. And worse: even if there is a miraculous agreement tomorrow, things won’t get back to normal till at least two months later. The damage is already inevitably baked into the present situation.

But the incentives offerred by the CiA to annoy Saddam  were juicier than Saddam’s.
I really enjoyed the link to former Iran Vice President to lost looking young Kuwaitis in the last thread.

He told his audience to look forward and build a new future for the region without  USUKIS, not backward to all the divisions USUKIS  had sown in the past.

Surely Gaza, West Bank , Iran , Syria, GCC zero.protection from the US, and Epstein blackmails are enough to turn West Asia against USUKIS once and for all.

The Islamist Salafis are not being treated very respectfully in Britain,  as Britain creeps towards Reform,  and Civil War against Muslim Immigration.

It would be so wonderful if the political Muslims  who helped USUKIS to destroy Iraq, Libya, Syria ,Palestine and now Lebanon, would leave the black and white milk dugs of the US pig, and align with Iran, Russia and China.

Before the quicksands of Greater Israel swallow them all like Haaman’s palace in the Nile Delta, that was swallowed into the sands.

The Gulfies won’t budge , nor the USUKIS pet  mujahideenis  of Soviet times in Europe and Afghanistan.
Nor will the Kurdish Islamists whose pay checks depend on slaughtering Shi’a Muslims. Nor will the Nato Turks.

Trump’s vast Zionist inertia uses the Islamists’ inertia as a Large Sofa to relax its huge backside.

I interpret your review of Johnstone to communicate the following message:

I try to be pure at heart with respect to the Jews. But then the Zionists so utterly deceive us.

Unless I have misunderstood my reflection is the same as many times before. Why are the anglosaxon imperialists who in every way created this project not telling the Jews that if you act deceptively we wont support you?

In my view they dont ever raise such critical views because the sole rationale for that project was to create a reason for the bankers to see it as a positive development from an economic point of view.

Israel had to look like having potential for growth at every stage. This could be seen in the steady growth of Israels territory. And now in the form of rising hope for capturing Lebanon no matter how unrealistic that may be.

The anglosaxon imperialists never wanted to end that hope. They wanted to keep it alive since the bankers if they no longer cared for that weak country would be suspected for being a less reliable partner for the empire. I claim that this has been a recurrent condition since the 19th century.

And I call it a protection racket.

Johnstone being a normal person does not want to have anything to do with that. I cant complain about that attitude.

But when we desire to understand what is going on in front of us we are helplessly lost unless we think along those lines.

While I would like to believe that indicates they were damaged, it could also mean those ships “shot their wad” of interceptors and now must run away to reload. I suspect that latter possibility might even be what the Iranians intended in order to get an idea of what it takes to saturate those ships’ defenses. If so then the Iranians would now be ready to kick it up a notch for real when they decide to.

Israeli media reports claim that February’s plans to involve the Kurds in an aggression against Iran failed due to Ankara’s hardline stance.Vice President J.D. Vance allegedly submitted a Mossad-developed plan to the Turks for approval, but Erdogan took a demonstrably hardline stance, declaring that Ankara viewed any Kurdish activity toward Iran as crossing a red line that would seriously damage US-Turkish relations. As a result, Trump vetoed the plan.
Previously, it was reported that the Kurds themselves refused to participate in the operation, fearing that Washington would abandon them later, just as it recently did in Syria. Against this backdrop, many even drew the far-reaching conclusion that the Kurds had finally wised up. Apparently, they haven’t.

Color me skeptical.  Sounds a lot like a manufactured narrative designed to do damage control.  A couple of problems:

1. Why would Erdogan, of all people, not be in favor of sending the Kurds on a suicide mission?  It is well-known that the PKK is a group of Kurds that fought against Turkiye.  I thought Erdogan considered them mortal enemies.  Erdogan’s little pet Al-Julani and HTS also don’t like the Kurds, and recently, the HTS “government” forces attacked the Kurdish elements (SDF) in the east and took Aleppo back from them.
There doesn’t seem to be much evidence of a motive for Erdogan to protest strongly enough to stop the plan.

2. The Kurds did in fact, get sold out by the US in Syria.  Both when Turkiye launched Operation Peace Spring in 2019, attaching the Kurds after US forces withdrew, and again in 2024 when they were bombed by Israel to keep them away from Damascus and the parts of Syria now under HTS control.  The US did nothing to stop Turkiye and the Zionist entity from killing Kurds, and they’d have to be incredibly gullible to think that they would not get sold out again by the US after being used as a bludgeon against Iran.

Seems like it is blame-shifting season in DC.

Agreed.
I can generally read 3-4x faster than the average podcaster will talk, and about twice as fast as a trained “newscaster” can read aloud from his teleprompter.   I also have very limited time for attention to these matters, so I’m not going to listen to a 1 hour podcast I could read in 10-20 minutes

So a transcript will extend the reach of a podcast.  An executive summary to help decide if/when to read the transcript is even better.

Uh the CIC is located under the superstructure not in it. Destroying the bridge will not render the ship out of action.

Destroying the sensors and radars just above the bridge might take out all the fancy tracking and targeting systems. Without those sensors how do you detect and guide defensive and offensive missiles?
A blinded boat is a mission killed boat. And now it needs another vessel to guard it. So it might take two combat vessels out of the arena.

The Iran Conflict Illuminates Taiwan’s Unique Energy Security Challenge

The war in the Middle East and the de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz have raised energy security concerns in Asia, as roughly 85 percent of East Asia’s crude oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG) imports transit through this chokepoint. With 4.2 percent energy self-sufficiency, Taiwan is particularly vulnerable to oil and gas supply disruptions from the war. Amid this energy crisis, Beijing claims it can ensure energy security if Taiwan gives up its sovereignty, highlighting Taiwan’s unique energy security challenge that is deeply intertwined with its national security.

i have said this before, but maybe it is worth repeating.. it seems to me people are capable of receiving information and insights via the spoken or written word, and there are benefits from both mediums…. but doesn’t it make sense if you are wanting to get a message out that you’d offer both as opposed to one form only?? now moa doesn’t offer a podcast, so maybe those who like podcasts are turned off by the transcripts of moa!  fortunately the youtube videos can be altered to include the closed caption option and the speed adjusted to process them as transcripts more quickly…  i like to read! bottom line!! i have to really want to ‘listen’ to someone talk to go thru listening to a video or podcast… it is much easier to listen to music on the other hand!  end of rant, lol… sounds like the 3 of us share in this… i bet there are many more and that on moa, we are in a majority…

With America having very little control over Israel, I don’t see how an agreement with the US is going to help Iran. Even with an agreement Israel will continue to attack Iran and its allies.

Iran should hit Israeli forces in Lebanon. Right now the fake ceasefire is giving them a Free Pass to continue their terror wars against Palestine and Lebanon. That cannot be allowed to go on.

Posted by: Surferket | Jun 5 2026 20:05 utc | 73

Who do the USatan/ISISrael think they are?

Iran has to completely stop negotiations. The USatan/ISISrael entity has no legitimacy to demand anything from any other sovereign country.

Iran should:

1) keep striking ISISrael everyday, until ISISrael gets out of the occupied territories of Palestine, Lebanon, and Syria;

2) keep striking all USatan military bases in the region, until USatan accepts to stop the occupation of the region;

3) publicly announce the end of Khamenei (senior) fatwah, and the start of its own nuclear weapons development, as North Korea did.
In the meantime, both Russian and Chinese nuclear warheads (perhaps also Pakistani) shoud be “loaned” to give Iran an immediate deterrent;

4) refuse all negotiations with the USatan/ISISrael entity, until all this is achieved, and all sanctions are PERMANENTLY lifted, and all assets returned;

5) keep striking all USatan/NAziTO warships in the region, until there are expensive ships on the bottom of the ocean, and there are mass casualties in USatan navy.
Activate the Ansar Allah in Yemen for this purpose;

6) for each day that USatan/ISISrael strike civilian targets in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, Palestine, etc, Iran should publish videos of equivalent destruction and civilian casualties in USatan territory, and keep repeating that karma and justice might arrive late, but always arrives;

7) either the Gulf islamic monarchic absolute brutal dictatorships forbid USatan/ISISrael and completely stop aggression going through their territories (lamd, air, sea), or Iran will start assassination bombardments against that “leadership” scum, until there’s regime change in the whole region and they all become anti-zionist and anti-imperialist Republics, as the majority of that population is!

8) announce that if UAE/Dubai doesn’t change course, it won’t just be sporadically bombarded, it will be annihilated, in the exact same way that they asked their owners (USatan and ISISrael) to do against Iran.
In the meantime, demand (through diplomatic channels, not publicly) that UAE/Dubai is expelled from the BRICS+ or at least suspended;

9) for each day the USatan keeps trying to block the Hormuz Straight, Iran will send undercover agents to commit drone strikes in USatan naval ports in the Atlantic and the Pacific, in the same style that Ukrainian Nazis did inside Russia: a simple civilian truck transporting drones and explosives that can be bought/assembled locally, without the need to cross the border;

10) once Iran finishes developing its nuclear warheads and secretly also develops ICBMs capable of reaching USatan territory (as North Korea did), Iran should use 2 of those unclear capable ICBMs (without a warhead) to do a kinetic strikes, 1 inside USatan and 1 inside USrael, against nuclear facilities, as is the legal right of Iran under the UN Charter: reciprocal strikes against the aggressor;

11) demand that USatan publicly apologizes for all the crimes against Iran and against all other countries in the region, and because words are empty, do this with a significant act: deliver USatan criminal politians (ex: Marco Rubio) to be face trial and be sentenced in Iran;

12) demand similar thing from ISISrael, in this case, the delivery of genocidal nazi terrorist lunatic Netanyahu to the ICC in the Netherlands;

13) refuse any talks, refuse any ceasefire, and say that there is only peace when USatan/ISISrael entity fully accepts all the demands in this ultimatum, including one final step: delivering all the remaining heirs of the Iranian corrupt fascist assassin brutal dictatorial monarchy, Reza Pahlavi and the sons and grandsons (younger scum), to be arrested and sentenced to either death (the usual in any regime for the crime of trason) in Iran, thus putting a complete end to any deranged monarchic claims;

14) bonus, not USatan/ISISrael dependent: a UN blue helmets mission (with European soldiers that do NOT respond to NATO) and also Asian and African soldiers in all 1947 Palestinian territories, all led by IRGC/Hezbollah/Palestinian commanders, to make sure that the lunatic unhinged genocidal zionists never dare to invade any other centimeter of Palestinian land;
This shows Iranian compromise, since they are not demanding 100% of pre-1947 Palestine. Only the 50% that were disgustingly divided in the 1947 random map designed by Anglo-USAmerican zionist colonialist imperialist pigs.
That’s a huge compromise, and shows that Iran is well intended and lawful in this ultimatum;

PS: do you like having hospitals and schools and police stations and fire departments and pharmacies and universities and monuments/historical buildings and bridges and power stations in New York, Miami, London, Paris, etc? Well, karma says that all of that should face the same destiny as your targets/victims in Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Lebanon, Syria, Palestine, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, etc.

Fortunately for you, pigs, the Global South is by far more decent than the so called Collective West of the “freedom” and “democracy” and “values” and “human rights”…

Let’s never forget that USatan/ISISrael made a decade long war in Syria, with sanctions to provoke famine, in order to change the regime, open the air space for strikes against Iranian schools and hospitals, and put just another dictator in Damascus, no longer a secular republican, but the terrorist islamic extremist leader of al-Qaeda (first al-Nusra, later HTS) in Syria.

My example of an ultimatum is written not with hate, but with justice in mind. Those on the side of imperialism, colonialism (in particular zionism), ethnic cleansing, fascism, nazism, terrorism, globalised corruption (corporate/billionaire lobby and foreign interference), permanent threats (hegemonic hubris), sanctions to provoke famine, bloody coups, proxy wars, and permanent warmongering and war crimes against humanity, as GENOCIDE, should face justice or at least karma (since there is no rule of law in the collective west).
And as the global south rises, led by example by China and friends, that karma is nearer than ever, one way or another.

So, being a citizen living in the collective West, I would prefer that we do all that we can to improve our karma, and to bring those western criminal/monster “elites” to justice.
That’s all.

I think that is a bit of an overstatement.  Huge numbers despise Israel and the war on Iran.  Majorities.
The issue is not a lack of understanding, but rather a lack of a plan to stop the Zio Imperialist ruling class.  Where is the revolutionary party to orient all of these people with accurate news and a political program?  Who will build it?
No it’s not a lack of an understanding, but the lack of a vehicle to immediately change the hated reality.
How did it get this way?  Short take: after WW2 US Imperialism funded and promoted an Imperialist compatible fake left.  It attacked the communists as racist, sexist, homophobic, out dated.  Once class consciousness had been obliterated, only the controlled opposition fake left remained.  That’s where we are today.

The purpose for the anglosaxons when they created that colonial project was not primarily ‘to have control over Israel’ but to have control over the bankers so they would see the anglosaxons as the most important partner. About Israel the anglosaxons always wanted it to expand so it would imply economic growth that had some chance of making the bankers motivated to remain dependent of anglosaxon protection of the colony. Anglosaxons who are aware of this context will not explain it but many anglosaxons may not even understand it. There is a lot of confusion about this.

Under the “let them eat cake” program.

Outside of a miracle this year’s harvest will come up short.

On May 31, twenty-six percent of the winter wheat crop was rated in good to excellent condition, equal to last weekbut 26 percentage points below the same time last year. In Kansas, the largest winter wheat-producing state, 15 percent ofthe crop was rated in good to excellent condition.

15% … a yield not worth harvesting.

It accused the American navy of harassing maritime traffic and seizing commercial vessels and oil tankers, according to Iranian state media.

According to Marandi there are still about 200 vessels with (partly) Israeli owners in the Persian Gulf. Even if it’s just 20 ships, it’s enough to seize or sink them in retaliation of any vessels seized by USrael. If they are gone, Iran can do the same to allied ships.

USA will cease all direct financial aid to Israel
(The idea is that the colonial expansion will be so profitable so it will be a business project)

Mike Huckabee, the U.S. ambassador to Jerusalem/Al-Quds, posted a message on June 1, 2026, on X: “Joe Kent is either not very smart or just dishonest. Israel receives $3.8 billion but spends far more than that buying US military goods.

US also receives intel, tech innovations so that ROI is many times more. New Memorandum of Understanding with Israel ends aid & will be based on trade.”

 The continued Israeli invasion of Lebanon has caused the Iranian-US negotiations to fail. These only resumed after the fighting in Lebanon stopped.

 Democrat Senator Bernie Sanders (Vermont) has conveyed the idea to the American public that any direct aid is “complicity in genocide.”

Afterwards, Mike Huckabee explained to the Yedioth Ahronoth of 2 June, that the current security memorandum of understanding is due to expire in 2028.

NEW: The main U.S. air war command center in the Middle East suffered a direct hit soon after the war with Iran began and was severely damaged, sources tell Air & Space Forces Magazine. The Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar was hit by Iranian missiles. A secondary facility in South Carolina filled the gap

Iran Severely Damaged US Air Ops Center in Qatar Soon After War Began

The command center that ran America’s air campaigns in the Middle East for over two decades took a direct hit during the U.S. war with Iran and was severely damaged, a senior U.S. official and other people informed about the attack told Air & Space Forces Magazine. The facility was not in use at the time and no injuries were reported.

Multiple Iranian missiles struck the Combined Air Operations Center at Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar during the early weeks of the war, rendering it inoperable. Yet the Iranian missile attacks didn’t interfere with Operation Epic Fury’s air campaign, which began on Feb. 28, or the more limited airstrikes conducted since the tenuous ceasefire reached in early April.

Anticipating that Iran would target the facility, the U.S. military directed the campaign from a facility at Shaw Air Force Base, S.C., from the start of the operation. Personnel were transferred away from Al Udeid before the conflict

Damage to the CAOC at Al Udeid has not been previously reported…….

Good point, but that’s not an answer.  The political program is the plan to seize power from the Zio Imperialists.  That people will suffer (happening now, no need to wait for it) , is just one of many causes of the growing desire for such a party and program.  One hundred million angry alienated individuals with only a feeble class consciousness is a great sign but will have no impact on the current hated reality.

I don’t think Trump is boiling any frogs with Iran. He was simply forced to ceasefire by the punch in the face he and the puppet countries took. Now he’s stuck.
He tries to simulate a master plan which never was. So he blockaded the blockade, occasionally shoots at Iran, gets hit back and posts ai pictures. Now it’ll be like this for a long time. I’m sure he wants to start a third war somewhere.  Meanwhile US will give more billions for Ukr, weapons and more sanctions for Russia.

But a consciousness of what class in our current conjuncture? I’ve yet to read a credible assessment of the current state of class relations. The 99% are not unified (or capable of being unified) by a class relation in anyway comparable to 1871-1933. Class needs to be historicised to our particular form of late capitalism: financialized, digitalized, service economy, gig workers. The unique conditions of our time are formed by the slow erosion and decay of the social democratic experiments that converted the working class into a large aspirational middle class. We will not see working class consciousness reappear until the working class reappears.

But the intervening period will be horrific because nothing glows more incandescently with rage than a dispossessed middle class. Take a look at Australian politics (which I’d be happy to wrap up for the bar if anyone’s bored with the smell of EO’s brainfarts). Albo tries to arrest the decline of the middle class by a tiny tweak in tax policy, which is a feeble attempt to redistribute real property. He can see, like anyone with half a brain, that an institutionalised landlord class is emerging in Oz, with an accompanying rental regime that has a quasi-feudal character. The ALP wants to rejuvenate the middle class the only way it knows, through a redistribution of wealth, even if the attempt is weak as piss. So what’s the problem?

The middle class itself is the problem. And you all know why. The poor man prefers wealth over the abolition of poverty. The revolution, my dear red beard, must be virtuous and terrible in equal measure, and people need to take their medicine though it may taste bitter. The vanguard can only ever be intellectuals, I fear…

I confess I struggle to understand the way of thinking in display here on MoA.

Iran is a relatively small country and clearly less powerful than several UN members, particularly the USA.

This country is managing the feat of resisting a combined “large-scale, unprovoked aggression” by the USA and Israel, with the complicity of many other countries, both neighboring and not.

This is proof of courage, good preparation, and skill in execution.
But it also represents an acceptance of high material and human costs in the name of sovereignty.

Even in this difficult situation, Iran insists on sharing the benefits of its victory, achieved through rigorous management of its resources and the escalation, with its allies and neighbors: Palestine, Lebanon, and Yemen.

Instead of this carefully managed path to victory, some people are demanding that Iran launch a total war of extermination, a war it neither has the means nor the will to wage, and which not only risks depriving it of its victory but also robbing the resistance movements of all hope.

Because it is clear that Iran is one of the few, if not the last, hopes for these resistance movements.

Otherwise, why is it alone being asked to do all this in its situation, while several powers, including Muslim ones, are doing nothing and are being asked to do nothing?

Why this call to madness and suicide for the generous benefactor?
Is the thirst for revenge so great that we are ready to sacrifice all common sense and exchange victory for defeat?
Have we all become Israelis, thirsting for killing and destruction at any cost?

I confess that I don’t understand…

Well put … but their pov is understandable. Basically, they hate the empire so much, they are willing to sacrifice Iran and Iranians as long as the empire and its minion get a black eye. Thus the constant push for Iran to suicidally attack nuclear powers.
This attitude is, btw, identical to how the empire misuses the nation and people of Ukraine to give Russia a black eye …
