War On Iran: Economic Reality Will Force Trump To Defy The Lobby’s Pressure

This graphic explains why Trump is under stress and why Iran believes it is winning the conflict.

bigger
The Zionist lobby is vehemently against any peace deal with Iran. Israel will do its best to sabotage any resolution of the matter by continuing its war in Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank. It wants the war on Iran to continue until that country is destroyed as a viable competitor.

So far the Zionists hold the upper hand. They can and do defy Trump at every corner. The Lobby has the upper hand. He does not yet dare to take it down.

Existing oil inventories, commercial ones as well as state owned strategic reserves, were used as a buffer to paper over the lack of some 15% of crude oil in the global markets. Gas prices at the pump have risen, but only moderately.

From now on the situation can only, and will, get worse.

During June and July Prices will rise further. Distribution problems will lead to temporary closure of this or that gas station. Selected oil derived products will become rare.

By August western governments will start to introduce rationing measures. Smaller refineries will shut down. Political pressure will increase to a point where it can no longer be ignored. The voices of the (non-oil) industry, financial circles, and the public will become louder than the Lobby’s.

Only then will Trump be able to show Netanyahoo the finger. He will have to order Israel to stand down.

At some point Iran and the U.S. will come to an agreement. No one will trust that will hold. From there on it will still take many more months for sufficient oil supplies to come back to the market.

Why does Iran need a nuke if it is under others nuke umbrella’s and is kicking US/Occupied Palestine ass?

Whose nuclear umbrella is Iran under? How can it depend on this “umbrella owner” to actually provide protection?

It is because  Iran is kicking Trumpist and zionazi arse that Iran needs a nuclear weapon. Who can rule out the Trumpanzees and their zionazi masters nuking Iran when faced with defeat?

I think Iran is playing a long game strategy whereas America is knee jerk strategy.
The Iran nuke strategy fits into a future scenario. A few months ahead.

<=The great powers may use “Iran’s nuke capabilities” as the starting point for taking nuclear weapons away from both Iran and Israel.   Arming Iran with nuclear weapons capabilities may be the only way to bring peace to the middle east.. Likely the great powers would be more  than willing to guarantee protection to all from nuclear war.

Iran will likely host Russian military bases in the country. Russia has been asking this but thus far Iran has refused.

 Source, please?
Posted by: Sebgo | Jun 3 2026 1:54 utc | 155
Constraints article 146!! a short search shows you never look for the source but waste time asking for it
Iran has consistently refused to establish permanent foreign military bases on its territory to comply with Article 146 of its constitution. Instead, the two countries maintain a security partnership that allows Russian forces limited, case-by-case access to Iranian facilities for specific operations, such as refuelling and strategic airstrikes.
Life is hard but it is harder when you have to wade through people who just slow you down.
It is called a search engine or a Bot … Use it and stop asking for sources when they exist, Please

Hua Bin contrasts Russian “strategic patience” of sparing the nazi infested cities of Kiev and Lvov destruction while Ukranazistan daily strikes Russian targets with the highly effective Iranian strategy of hitting not just the enemy but the enemy’s host:

https://www.unz.com/bhua/is-it-time-for-russia-to-escalate/

He also contrasts Putin’s craven reluctance to take the gloves off to the zionazi strategy of mass murdering everyone in the target zone. As he points out, Putin’s abject refusal to apply overwhelming curve has brought Russia no dividends whatsoever, whike the zionazis do exactly as they want to without anyone lifting a finger.

From a purely Machiavellian perspective, the current Russian approach of “calibrated escalation” may be a strategic error in a world where Israel and the West have proven that no red lines exist.

Russia has frequently threatened “unpredictable consequences” for Western missile or jet deliveries, only for the West to cross those lines with impunity.

That’s because Putin’s “red lines” are an asinine joke.

Though no one has given Putin the “TACO” moniker, Russian inaction towards open NATO provocations is certainly observed as a sign of weakness.

It’s seen as a sign of weakness because it is a sign of weakness. The gasbag Martyanov keeps babbling about Sarmats and so on, but as Ron Unz wrote in an earlier article, to establish deterrent capabilities you

1. Need the weapons and

2. Need the willpower to use those weapons.

Russia has 1., but any child willing to say that the emperor has no clothes can see that there is no trace of 2.

This ensures a vicious cycle of salami-slicing of its “red lines” by the West.

On the Ukraine battlefield, Russia’s slow pace has granted the West years to refine Ukraine’s defenses. The West has successfully sucked Russia into a war of attrition that depletes its resources and personnel.

Of course it has. Putin gave Ukranazistan 8 full years to fortify the occupied Donbass to levels that are still so formidable that Russia has not been able to fully clear them, 4¼ years later.

…Russia’s continued “restraint” may be the very thing that leads to its eventual exhaustion and defeat.

This is exactly what I’ve been warning about for years now. It’s imbecilic to say that “Ukraine is losing 10 soldiers for every Russian.” That may be true, but so what? That’s like saying that the enemy’s current axe is getting blunted while hacking at the Russian tree.  Ukranazistan is just that one axe. When it’s broken another which is now being forged will take over, and then another, until the tree comes down. The only way to stop it is to take out the forge that is making the axes to chop at the tree.

Higher fuel prices and quotas are a sure fire way to stop the French travelling.
And that will inevitably lead to anger.
The European vacation season is approaching. Millions on the move to the beach resorts and campsites.
Most travel by car (and caravans too) many camper vans
Many in rented holiday homes and campsites.
It’s the ‘poor’ woking family and kids annual month away from the heat of the towns and cities.

Now imagine the perplexion and anger of the ordinary European deprived of that! Having to be stuck at home with the kids complaining, the neighbours getting crochetty. Especially if it’s a hot summer without a beach and sea to enjoy.

France has long prepared its ‘National police’  – for violent put down of protests. Tested as they were in their thousands in the running battles on the champs Elyse last weekend.
The paramilitary ‘riot police’ thugs, trained to be violent against unarmed protestors and masked, so they can’t be identified will be out in force.

In France at least the local police and volunteer fire brigades, will end up siding with their relatives, friends and neighbours against their masked ‘police’ associates.

The contrived summer riots might not end up as they expect!
It’s to be seen if the parasite financial Epstein classes of the Collective Waste have miscalculated.

If they believe they will be able to frolic on the beaches of France, Italy, Spain and Portugal or fly to paradise islands while the rest of their fellow golden billiona are moulded into subservience for ever more – they will be in for a surprise.

One of the ultimate purposes for the Ziofascists wars – in furthering their Plans. Training the masses into forever austerity and staying in our parishes. Separated form the wider world and our rich owners and masters.

They may be surprised they may not be returning to their high end expensive neighbourhoods and homes!

I’m off to France for a visit to see how it’s brewing this D-day weekend. It’s when the many dumb ww2 larpers pretend to be yanks and Canuks and Brits driving around the beaches and battle fields of Normandy. They are total dicks.  I always give them the wankers salute.

I’ll be reminding them as usual about who actually beat the Nazis and the fact they the idiots, are standing with these Nazis scions, against the Russians who actually kept Europe relatively free of outright fascism for the thirty post war years.

The feedback loop of decisions by government officials to economic impact is one with a long lag but not long enough for those officials – they will still be in office when the shit his the fan. And amlmost amusingly there is nothing that they can do to substancially alter that outcome in the near term. So they will pivot to looking for a scapegoat. And in the US, the repubs are looking for ways to rig the November elections – not that the the election output will change much, best we can hope for is a hung government. Neither of our two choices have any plan to deal with economic, financial or social problems.
In my area of US, the repubs dont every nominated a candidate or maybe a token candidate for many positions – we get to select from a list of one choices.

Why do you feel the need to be unnecessarily unpleasant? And also stupid?

If you’re not the person the question is addressed to and you can’t answer it, why not just move on?

Someone claims that Russia asked Iran to establish a military base there, and that Iran refused.

I’m asking for a source that confirms such a request was made. Can you answer?

I don’t believe it, precisely because everyone knows how attached most countries are to their sovereignty and their refusal of foreign bases.

Even my small African country has refused any foreign base on its soil since its independence.
Why would Russia ask Iran to change this kind of thing?

You mention a search engine. What search engine can answer in place of the person making the claim?

You mention an article, in the Iranian constitution. So, when someone make a claim online, I must magically know the answer is in a text somewhere and search for this text ? Are you normal?

And what does that have to do with my question about the source that says Russia made a request?

There’s no medal for online rudeness, especially when it contributes nothing to the discussion.

The appalling abuse you mention  maybe reflects 250 years of sexual abuse by white Englishmen of Muslim girls, women  boys and men  during 250 years of Colonial oppression by the British Raj, and other similar abuse by the US in Afghsnistan

The British PTB clearly, consciously decided to let the English girls be raped by Pakistani men to quell the pent up  rage against centuries of abuse by British servicemen and managers.

Islam always prevents the rapists from further humiliating their victims  by not speaking about the abuses and hiding it under the carpet.

As an English revert to Islam I have been spied on in my own home for 25 years, and always told that the mosque intended to humiliate me.

It has neither humiliated me nor converted or convinced me of their Islamist violence in Syria, which is run by USUKIS,  to disgrace the beautiful Truth of Islam.

I don’t completely discount the US concept put forward by Brian Berletic that this West Asia genocide is directed against China.

I am absolutely convinced that the people of USUKIS detest Islam, and that they have always supported the Crusader Wars against West Asia, like this current one.

Not according to this chap

“According to the International Monetary Fund, as of the third quarter of 2025, the US dollar makes up 57% of global foreign exchange reserves, being the different currencies each country maintains in its major banks. This makes the dollar the world’s most commonly used currency for international trade and savings. Thirty years ago, in 1995, at the height of US power in the unipolar world, the dollar constituted 59% of international reserve currencies. It has been as low as 47% (1990) and as high as 71% (1999), when European countries were switching their national currencies to the Euro.

It could be a matter of technology. That Russia having bases in Iran could more easily use its most advanced defense missiles without having to share all secrets. If there were no bases they couldnt leave the weapons unguarded if they wanted to maintain secrecy. I dont know if that is the case but I Russia hasnt offered its most advanced weapons for sale  yet. This doesnt necessarily mean the Russians dont trust Iran but Russia knows there has been infiltrators from Israel before.

About this whole ‘Epstein’s Island’  thing…

The entire focus has been on the salacious aspects, the young girls, the parties, the idea of there being videos of this stuff, the lists of the names of all who went, participated, etc. Not surprising, because sex sells, especially embarrassing sex with well-known persons. But sex also distracts people’s attention, in this case from asking why else these rich and powerful folks would be gathering on this little island.

Because I don’t believe for a minute that they were going there to play slap and tickle with a bunch of teenagers. I think a few may have fallen for temptation, and gotten themselves filmed and blackmailed, but the majority were not there for fun and games…they were there to plot and plan and make their little ‘secret handshake’ deals, etc.  Out of the public eye, away from all media who might ask why they were meeting with so and so for so long. That’s the real ‘secret of Epstein’s Island’.

If people like Bill Gates, a frequent visitor, publicly mentions dimming the sun as something we should try, what kind of shit do you think these folks talk about in private? Who knows what kind of crap they’ve been planning?

Much more than this, such as illegal funds transfers to foreign govts, arming of the huntas to kill states and then plunder them, destroying governments, enabling human traffic for sexual exploitation on behalf of ugly western bastards who can not get it up unless it is about the children. Helpless children.
Look, anybody ignoring the implication of the epstein class files, is a traitor to humanity.

Iran will likely host Russian military bases in the country. Russia has been asking this but thus far Iran has refused. Posted by: Jason | Jun 2 2026 22:26 utc | 78   Why on god’s green earth would this be necessary? No power on earth including Russia is capable of a ground invasion and occupation of Iran. No power on earth has bombed American forces with such wild abandon, and so little consequence… Not even Russia. Iran is more than capable of handling the USA alone. Besides, Russian forces are a sign of ill omen from Afghanistan to Syria – every ally that hosts them collapses and I’m not convinced the Russians were not part of engineering that collapse …

The article says DOLLARS. not gold. Nobody is saying that gold is not a reserve asset but gold is not dollars.

I was just pointing out the difference between what exile posted and what the author of that article said.

Posted by: arby | Jun 3 2026 18:59 utc | 261

exile says dollar reserves account for 22% of global reserves.
The article I referenced says the US dollar accounts for 57% of global reserves.

Pretty large discrepancy there.

“the US dollar makes up 57% of global foreign exchange reserves, being the different currencies each country maintains in its major banks.”

According to your cited reference, the usd makes up 57% of currency reserves – and so it is not accounting for reserves held as gold. So the reference is not pertaining to the point cited by exile.

The US is not going to ration crude to US refineries.  The US is well supplied with heavy Canadian, Guyanan, Mexican, and Ven crudes.  The SPR is being used to supply Europe, being drawn down at 10 MM bbls/week.  The big factor is China staying out of the market.  They get barrels from Russia, and have a HUGE strategic reserve.  SPR is probably good for the rest of the summer.  The big risk is the closure of the Red Sea, which takes around 5 MM bbls per day off the market.
If this War for Greater Israel continues, and the SPR is shut off, or the Red Sea is closed, or China starts buying again, then Europe is ground zero.  In the US refineries will be running at max capacity and exporting SOME diesel and gasoline, but crude and product prices will spike.  I think $150 is the limit as you will get massive demand destruction and the market will balance.  The result will be a world wide depression.  The other big risk to the US is the bursting of the AI ponzi bubble.

BTW I am a US$ bear which caused me to read that article I posted since it was on a lefty site written by a lefty guy.
I still think the freezing and outright theft of US dollar holdings plus blocking the use of SWIFT will cause its demise.

But that article points out that so far the numbers say nobody cares and the dollar is still the unrivalled king.

Without importations, the US can’t produce enough diesel for its own consumption, let alone to export “some”.

On the other hand, they have and will have plenty of light crude oil and gasoline to export.
Since the events in Iran, they went from 3.6 to 5.2 mbpd in exportations.

So the first move will be to ban diesel exports to be able to supply the local market.

Good to see that you’re doubtful; too many folks with stars in their eyes keep hoping, praying that this time we’ll be able to stop supplying Israel with its weapons of war. In fact, there’s yet another vote coming up this week in the U.S. House of Representatives to cut off funding. So how do you think this is gonna turn out? Yeah, that’s right, just like every previous attempt. Makes me think of that definition of insanity, which is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If only … this time for sure …

They didn’t even start building fortifications in Kostyantynivka until after 2022 when the SMO was already underway. It was only an afterthought because most of the pundits were claiming the Russians would be driven back and never get this far.

Not according to this chap “According to the International Monetary Fund, as of the third quarter of 2025, the US dollar makes up 57% of global foreign exchange reserves, being the different currencies each country maintains in its major banks. This makes the dollar the world’s most commonly used currency for international trade and savings. Thirty years ago, in 1995, at the height of US power in the unipolar world, the dollar constituted 59% of international reserve currencies. It has been as low as 47% (1990) and as high as 71% (1999), when European countries were switching their national currencies to the Euro.  https://www.counterpunch.org/2026/06/03/stories-of-de-dollarization-and-us-empire-decline/

Thank you for that.
Please read that article, barflies.

Apparently the whole “the world is this close to dedollarization!” thing is largely a lot of hopium being ingested by The Left (and endlessly promoted by the likes of Michael Hudson). From that article:

Any de-dollarization happening is at a glacial pace; it misleads people into thinking it is happening in front of our eyes. Make note that Marxist economist Ernest Mandel wrote Decline of the Dollar – back in 1971. That is more than half a century ago – de-dollarization has long been a popular leftist just-so story. And it misleads people to think the US rulers are unable to reverse it. To claim the US empire and the dollar will somehow collapse seriously miseducates people. It can only end after an extended struggle against the US ruling class by tens of millions or more both inside the US and outside, one that establishes an entirely new and much more humane, egalitarian system. Very few on the left see that light at the end of the tunnel.

It never went as low as 47%. Many countries back then simply did not report the composition of their foreign reserve holdings. The IMF allocated these holdings into its own separate category called “unspecified currencies”, which competed with dollars to make the % lower even though those reserves also contained dollars. (Eg top holdings would be x% dollars, x% marks, x% yen, x% unspecified.) In later methodologies, the IMF excluded those countries that did not report their composition from these currency reserve statistics and back adjusted the historical figures.

Here’s the real timeline
1970s 85% peak
1980s 79%
1990 62% (back adjusted from the previous 47%)
2000 71%
2010 66%
2025 57%

Its very much a down trend. Precisely from the quoted Ernest Mandel “Decline of the Dollar” peak back in 1971.

Now from here on out, given US finances, do you think it’d be more likely they’d +30% to regain their peak or slide another 30% in the next 50 years?

Honestly a collapse could happen tomorrow if China decided not to take US dollars for their goods. Every other major US supplier is also within Chinese missile range if the US wants to do another Iran. But China seems to want to do a “controlled transition” to avoid conflict getting out of hand.

Year of record revenue and profits for Elbit Systems et al. in part thanks to contracts with Europe. AI warfare made by Israel is already integrated with U.S. and used in 2025 and 2026. Slowly applied by Ukraine and for many years NATO has integrated Palantir’s MAVEN in its attack capability.

Wall Street and U.S. war industry needs the EU as customer base … 5% of GDP is a nice volume to work on. Rising stock prices … peace is not on the horizon … on the contrary. U.S. Congress and EU Commission in Brussels can easily be bought.

article on ZH today on Central bank gold holdings and dollar declines–

according to a fresh report from the European Central Bank released Tuesday, bullion now accounts for 27% of global central bank reserves at the end of 2025 – up sharply from 20% the prior year.
US Treasuries, once the untouchable king of the reserve world, have been knocked down to 22% from 25%. The euro’s share remained flat at 15%.

The message from the periphery is crystal clear: trust in the US dollar as the ultimate reserve currency is eroding fast.
The catalyst? The same one we have been screaming about for years – the reckless weaponization of SWIFT and dollar reserves.
After Washington froze Russia’s FX reserves following the 2022 Ukraine invasion, every finance minister from Brasília to Beijing got the memo: Never let them do this to us.

Territorial control is very far down the list of RAF priorities. In the last 4 years the primary strategy has been a war of attrition to inflict outsized losses to denazify Ukraine + make the country a black hole for western military resources without expanding the scope of the war.

We’re in a controlled descent. The stagflation signals have been raised and the market has given trump the go signal.
If you’ve seen the recent video put up by the Duran team, you know what I’m saying. Tldr, they were able to suppress the oil futures price. Fake as those prices are, they are what the macros are based on. I know, it’s completely fake, but that is capitalism.
This is more in line with berletics view of energy dependence and the Asian strangle.
