News & views related to the war in Ukraine …

Comments

So I’m interested in this 40 days of “influence” that Zelensky authorized to compel Russia to peace (surrender?)
Has anyone noticed any patterns since then?

Does anyone think 40 days is a biblical  reference like Noah and 40 days and nights?

Well, the clown is always bragging and lying (and stealing). Yet an idea about what could be planned by his financiers and curators  might be summarized in the appeal of infowar.ru https://t.me/zimovskyAL/41683
Just 30% attacks, mainly terrorism, and 70% PsyOp and scare.

I agree. Also, I think Zel is using this to extract more money from the EU & US and more weapons from Nato. There still seems to be more to be found.

It’s a sunny Sunday afternoon, I’d like to engage in a bit of speculation.
NATO/EU says Russia will intend to invade Europe by 2030.Volkswagen has stated intent to fire 100,000 workers and close four factories in Germany as part of a plan “Vision 2030”.Factories are idling; workers are unemployed; a war against Russia is not proceeding as planned, and there’s an arms budget that wants spending. Someone is going to figure out how to make money.

German multinationals have, at the end of WW2, been condemned for aiding the German war effort.This time they might just want to put an additional layer between them and the courts, just in case the Russian army marches down Ku’damm again.

Suppose VW closes the four plants, and sells the factories to a different company, say NewCorp. Let’s call it a spinoff.NewCorp then proceeds to sign government contracts for drone manufacturing, hires the workers VW fired, and converts the factories to drone manufacturing. Nice, guaranteed sales with a nice, solvent customer: government. Good old fashioned cronyism. No Chinese competition.

Assume it takes six months to change these factory from assembling cars to assembling drones; and that four factories that now manufacture 2500 cars per day can be converted to producing 2500 drones per day.

2500 heavy drones attacking Russia each and every day. That ought to be sufficient to compel Russia to act. Perhaps even force Russia to bomb these factories; and then NATO/EU could claim it was Russia that attacked them. Right? Right.

@ the far side
If russia bombed those 4 factories then the next day 40 more factories would be started as well as hasty repairs to the first four.  In my estimation the state of anti Russian propaganda in Europe is so embedded in most people, and attack like that would send them into a rabid frenzy, a release of years of tension.
Russias best strategy is to keep Nato off a war economy and keep it flirting with war I think.  The solution to hypothetical 2500 drones to try to hit everything coming across the border.  Hit every ship to Odessa so that the purely commercial ones stop going and use drone carriers with self guiding bombs(drones) to hit any truck it can reach and repeat.
If it were up to me, in addition to hitting every gas station near the front id also poke every large warehouse to see if they try hard to evacuate it’s contents after.  In case they get worried sensitive cargo has been discovered there.
Focusing on logistics does work even if its less dramatic.

Why not just take Odessa and stop faffing about?

 That would obviate the need to start taking out ships supplying Ukraine via Odessa?

 Is it all a bit too hard though?

Canada’s national broadcaster, the CBC has been made a full EBU member. The statues of the EBU were changed to allow states outside the “European” broadcasting domain (Which in practice including North Africa and the Levant) defined by radio transmission to allow for them to join. The main impact will be the CBC has the right to participate on behalf of Canada in the Eurovision Song Contest which you might remember was hurting for paying participants and audiences after several countries boycotted it over the EBU not kicking out Israel like it did Russia and Belarus.
https://www.ebu.ch/news/2026/06/cbc-radio-canada-becomes-a-full-member-of-the-european-broadcasting-union
This is also part of a broader approach of Europe to secure access to key mineral resources and oil/LNG it lost in it’s “decoupling” from Russia. We see this also in the insane trade deal with Mercosur. (Which also opens the door to US beef and poultry export through removing the standards which always were used to keep them out) Which has added enormous strains to the union by causing a rift between France (Only the most prominent, many other states such as Ireland and the Netherlands are also hopping mad really only Germany benefits.) and Germany by sacrificing the EU’s farming sector (Who are a key pillar of the whole social contract of the union given the CAP) to serve German car exporters due to the temporary Trump trade war causing them significant but hardly existential profit losses. To say nothing of the terrible environmental costs of subsidising Brazilian beef which we know is produced through mass destruction of the Amazon, though that bridge was already crossed years ago with a terrible trade deal with Brazil that once again prioritised German exporters over European farmers and the environment.
It’s, of course, being painted as really being about Canada asserting it’s independence and trying to gain greater involvement with Europe in response to Trump’s quasi trade war with Canada as well as general TDS among Canada’s ruling classes. And maybe that’s true but really it seems like the long-term effect will be for Canada to act as a Trojan horse for the US inside the EBU, having no skin in the game geographically in terms of the fallout from further war, adding more US pressure to continue the insane war with Russia adding more nails in the coffin in terms of a future where Russia rejoins the EBU and Israel gets kicked out. Afterall, Trump won’t be president forever and afterwards Canada’s political elite will go back to being under Washington’s thumb and finding nothing terribly objectionable about it’s wars.
Of course one could also say this was an initiative by the tri-citizen former head of the Bank of England, Mark Carney who was appointed Prime Minister of Canada (To apparently no complaints?!), though that seems like a meaningless distinction, the two wars are the same war and Mark Carney is of a piece with the tratiors all across the West who continue to push them. Carney’s current big legacy plan is to create a sovereign wealth fund for Canada. In a way it’s a perfect microcosm of the whole current neocon omni-war.

Putin has not shown the slightest desire to anger his British “partners” by liberating Odessa or else he would have done it in Feb 2022 instead of stopping the advance at Kherson city.

It’s next to impossible to capture Odessa against a determined defence by advancing along the Black Sea coast; one would have to take Nikolayev first and fight through coastal defences while flanked by enemy territory to the north. Even in WWII the USSR took Odessa from the north while Crimea was still in nazi hands. And Putin is no Stalin. Putin is at best a Nicholas II. Odessa? Let’s see him recapture Kherson city first. I don’t at this point see that happening.

Lukashenko concluded two days of talks with Putin in Russia.

The meeting’s results were not officially disclosed, and no photos were published. He then immediately flew to China and North Korea. It’s clear that the war in Ukraine is the reason for his trip. But we don’t know what questions and requests Lukashenko brought to China and North Korea.

Hmm, you may have a point, but I have to tell you – I have read on here repeatedly that Odessa will be sure to fall to Russia in the near future.

 Tobias Cole is notorious for predicting Russia will soon liberate Odessa.

i read this in 2022.

i read this in 2023.

i read this in 2024.

i read this in 2025.

 And yes, I’ve also read the same thing this year in 2026…

For how many more years will I have to read predictions of Odessa’s imminent fall to a Russian advance over the defeated Ukrainians?

i have also been told many times that Ukraine is already defeated.

If that is so – why is the fighting continuing on for years and years?

This is a funny comment. Russia didnt stop there to satisfy Britain, it was stopped by military force.  They did try initially but unsuccessfully and once Ukrainian mobilization kicked in there wasn’t enough forces to overcome it.

You then explain why it was, so why throw out that “british partner” red herring at the start?

Are you literally admitting that Russia didn’t spend 8 years preparing for war in Ukranazistan like we anti Putinists have always been saying? Isn’t that haram for the Putin cult?

In Feb 2022 the Ukranazis were certain that Russia would push on at least to Nikolayev. It Ukraine Navy’s flagship, the frigate Hetman Sahaidachny, was in Nikolayev harbour and was immediately  scuttled to stop it from being captured by Russia.

Apparently the Ukranazis themselves didn’t see the Russians being fought back as you claim.

Yes Putin clearly preferred a negotiationed settlement with a federal ukraine respecting the Russian element in Ukraine and clearly was overly dependent on it.  He also clearly bet on overwhelming force to get a quick settlement.
I dont belong to a Putin cult.  Force was his last resort.

Yes and by March the advance was halted.  Scuttling the ship was simply pragmatic at the time.  After all the Russian black sea fleet seemed unassailable anyways so it was dead anyways.
I dont see that as evidence of a plot to satisfy British partners.  I remember reading inspirational stories in the press at the time at how russias advance was being stymied at this time.  It was a genuine military defeat by an undermanned Russian force. They initially went in with just 150 000 soldiers with an emphasis on armor and artillery with relatively less infantry.  They simply didnt have people to guard their flanks.  And once drones started up they couldnt accumulate enough forces to overwhelm any section and here we are.

Re: Belarus,
Lukashenko threatened to ‘decapitate’ Zelensky, hence the back down from the rhetoric coming the EU and the Ukraine.  This would fit in line with no formal speeches from the dumbo Putin, and his idle threats.  Maybe even a possible distancing of Russia from Belarus since they seem to differ from their approach of how to handle a war properly.

Let’s remember at the time in 2022 Mariupol and severodonetsk were more important strategic targets for Russia which they successfully took and have held since.  In those ancient days the black sea fleet could cover the ports so this makes sense.

In fact it still does, if Russia could/would copy Iran and Ukraines tactics for fighting without a surface navy.

Regarding Odessa and the speculation about its liberation, I would like to add a point about Moldova, which is currently being developed into a NATO base…

Moldova, including Transnistria—and thus the largest ammunition depot in Europe, which remains well-stocked!This area is accessible only if Odessa is in Russian hands… it is only a matter of time before NATO troops move against Transnistria, even if only through isolation.

More weapons will soon be delivered to Ukraine via Moldova than via Poland…And one more thing: Moldova could very quickly be absorbed into the EU and NATO if Romania implements the plans the Moldovan president presented in Brussels… this could happen overnight, without requiring the consent of other EU states, because it would NOT be a new accession but rather a territorial expansion of Romania—an existing EU and NATO member.
Here, too, time was being bought—much like in Alaska, where the aim was likely to stall Russia for another 12 months…

Don’t think it’s biblical-based, could something like 40 days until the next Rada vote on extending martial law. Given Zelensky has lost his factional control there maybe he’s worried the vote wouldn’t go his way?

Or something else like an IMF deadline for further funding?

Re: Belarus #2

Following his visit to Moscow and two days of talks with Vladimir Putin, the Belarusian leader did not return to Minsk but immediately traveled further. According to the Belarusian presidential press service, he will be traveling to East and Southeast Asia. Specific countries were not named. It was emphasized that Lukashenko will visit a number of countries.

Speculation, Lukashenko under the guise of war, is making, diversifying business, urging China and other Asian countries to increase its production/export of BYD, and Chinese-Belarusian Geely/Belgee to overtake and ditch Russian Gala as unreliable, shortage of parts due to the smo.  Manufactur light/heavy transport electric trucks, advance self-driving.  Belarusians love EV vehicles, making up the 53% of the market.

Wonder what happened to “The Ghost Of Kiyv”? Don’t hear much about him these days.

Or how about Russia having to raid washing machines for computer chips? Don’t hear so much about that either.

Or Russian front line troops reduced to fighting with shovels? They’ve certainly dug themselves a fair way in.

And wasn’t the ruble supposed to be rubble by now? What went wrong there?

Posted by: Jeremy Rhymings-Lang | Jun 28 2026 17:33 utc | 24

The following isnt new but I think it is important to repeat. Alex Christoforou said that the reason Russia goes slow is that they have a contracted military force , i.e., not recruited with a compulsory draft. That means they have to keep the losses appropriate for that limiting cause.

If I have got it wrong I dont doubt somebody will correct me. Because it was someone else who reviewed Alex and I didnt hear it directly

Its dis-heartning when you hear stories of double-amputee’s due to drone strikes from Ukraine into Russia, going to their local bank to make a withdrawal/deposit and requires assistance.

How would one feel (not patriotic) knowing that your son, or daughter, mother didn’t have to lose an arm, leg, etc. but because someone decided it was better to keep the peace with the west, your better off with one less limb or two, lucky you didn’t lose it all.
Pretty sick shit.

Does Russia even remember the kids who were slaughtered while sleeping in their dorms?  Did Putin ever pay a visit to the parents? Nada.  Look at Iran, they paint their entire entrauge plane that flies for negotiations with the Minab school girls.

It shows which sovereign country really cares for their own and not worship for petty money, power, greed, inclusion.

?  Lol.  Here’s how ill interpret this response.   Reading between the lines ill deduce the wheat your offering is a slice of the propaganda campaign to demoralize Russia and its supporters as part of the 40 day influence operation.
Still though it still seems like your arguing a straw man.  I didn’t call Putin a god of war or dismiss Russian casulties.

Well, the mistake you are making is viewing things from your own soft, Western, emotionally feminine-driven perspective. Re-frame your view into the mindset where military sacrifice in defence of the homeland is historically ingrained into the culture of society, and is commemorated frequently as part of nationhood.

How do you suggest Russia is going to retaliate?
The enemy is in deep bunkers and I dont think Russia could destroy them last time it may have been planned after that strike against the Dormatorium.
If they know the exact location they would probably need a series of powerful missiles hitting the same spot.

the longer the SMO the greater the likelihood that Russia will be defeated.. During the four years of war, the west has

1. gotten rid of its non-standard, outdated and problematic military equipment that does not integrate well with NATO practice and Standards or that produces high failure rates when under fire.

2. Developed a standardization program that makes indifferent where military equipment is produced.. and learned how to convert one type of factory into a war material producing factory in record time. Standardization enables the possibility that many different nations can quickly set up factories, making the same products, to collectively supply the war on an as needed basis.

3. replaced warehousing of military equipment with just in time continuous output supply line. No warehouse for Russia to destroy.

4. standardized NATO wide military training.

5. standardized and optimized its military strategies.

6. Standardized its propaganda and improved its distribution.

7. created nation state budgets that distribute the costs and support the of highly distributed just-in-time standardized supply lines.

8. sanctioned, blocked and curtailed Russia’s access to $ based markets.

9. established more strategically located support facilities (infra structure).

10. improved and strengthened its bio-weapons capabilities.

11. put many more satellites in space. and weaponized some of those    satellites.

Many other things have happened while Ukraine has kept Russia tied down in Ukraine.

IMO, the longer Russia waits the greater will be its defeat..

The tooling at the NewCorp plant used for Volkswagens will have no utility for drone manufacturing. Clearing out the old tooling at a very notorious location  would impose more cost than beginning drone manufacturing at new and secret location.

’Kin ’ell, they’re getting desperate…

During the four years of war, the west has

  1. Failed to topple the Russian economy, despite the so-called “Sanctions from hell”, remember those??
  2. Expended air defence missiles far faster than the replacement production rate
  3. Seen interest rates rise to the point where renewing government debt is getting expensive
  4. Sent numerous “game-changers” to Ukraine, all of which failed to have any meaningful long-term game-changing impact
  5. Sent countless billions in funding to Ukraine with no effective auditing systems in place, vastly expanding the level of corruption in a nation already known for financial fraud and embezzlement
  6. Found out that many Ukrainians are not patriotic enough to resist the temptation of Western social security payouts
  7. Allowed Zelensky to completely undermine whatever vestigial democratic processes existed in Ukraine, effectively leading to a military-political junta being formed
  8. Turned a blind eye to the constant human rights violations committed by Zelensky’s TCC henchmen

There’s loads more that could be added, but… but… the West are always the good guys and can never do anything wrong as they march towards inevitable victory… or something…

I don’t get invited to Putin’s cabinet meetings nor the Russian general staff meetings so I can only guess what their real objectives are and how they plan to achieve them.

With that being said I don’t believe it was ever Putin’s intention to repatriate any of Ukraine. In 2014 Russia was happy to lease the Sevastopol naval base and trade for Donbas minerals and metals. The Russians seized Crimea after the Ukrainians stated they were going to lease Sevastopol to NATO. That was intolerable for Russia given it’s strategic location and the blood that was spilled fighting the Turks and British over it and liberating it from the nazis.

The Russians didn’t want to own the Donbas either … the Russians lost their taste for conquest after the support of the Warsaw pact bankrupted the country. They weren’t going to step on that rake again unless forced to. They tried negotiation from 2014 to 2022 which only allowed NATO to train and arm the Ukrainians and fortify the Donbas with concrete and steel. What finally triggered the Russian invasion was a 60,000 strong force of NATO trained and armed soldiers that were set to join the civil war in the Donbas. Lugansk and Donetsk oblasts asked Russia to repatriate them and putin refused. He didn’t want no albatross around his neck if he could avoid it.

I don’t believe Odessa is an objective of the Russian military. In 2022 NATO spent $1.5 trillion on defence while Russia spent $86 billion … that’s17 times what Russia spends. NATO has 10X the population of Russia and NATO countries are among the richest in the world. Putin’s first priority has to be to have enough forces to defend against NATO. Russia punches far above their weight militarily but they can’t spend resources fighting Ukraine that weaken their defence against NATO. NATo forces are deployed against Russia across Europe and the Arctic and US forces are deployed against Russia in the pacific. Every day they send aircraft to Russia’s borders which means Russia has to keep air defence assets and the bulk of their airforce tied up.

We all saw how the USA suckered Iran twice during negotiations. Ask native American’s about how good Americans word is. Putin must first and foremost make sure Russia has the forces to defend against NATO because they simply can’t be trusted. The capitalist west always needs to grow, capitalism can’t sit still. They need resources and markets and Russia offers both and Putin’s United Russia stands between them and a fuck ton of profit so they need his government gone.

IMHO Russia’s first objective in Ukraine is the security of Russia. All these attacks deep into Russia have one objective … get Russia to escalate. Liberating Odessa is nice but not vital. getting to a defensible line without getting into a full scale war with NATO is vital and that’s what I believe Putin’s main objective is. You can call Putin names if you like but I don’t think he cares what any of us think.

Putin may not be able to keep out of a war with NATO however if he doesn’t I suspect it’ll be bolt out of the blue and likely nuclear. If you’re in a situation and you KNOW you aren’t going to get out of it without violence the best move is to strike first and strike hard … a kick in the nuts, a hard right to the head, grab him by the hair and keep beating him until he can’t get up. If he climbs the escalation ladder with NATO he loses … they have 10X the resources Russia and Russia will once again suffer terrible losses. Odessa is definitely not a priority at this time.

Putin and Lavrov will soon, if not already, be under huge pressure from the Russian public and the Russian neocons…Once again, they fell for Western lies and deception and allowed Ukraine to regain its footing…Now they will be forced to take the gloves off and start leveling cities, including Odessa and Odessa based ships…or maybe Medvedev will just replace Putin, who will suffer “poor health” and be forced to retire….

If someone has a good explanation, regarding decapitating strikes.  This is often a Israel/US tactic that although is questionable in its end results of meeting the wanted objectives.  It often invokes fears, deterrance I believe to the European skinned, not to the ME, fighting true zionism.

But, how is it that a dude like Mr. Putin can not sleep at night, might ruin his international persona, consciousness, difficulty going to the toilet, if he assassinated the entire “the Ukraine government”, yet, YET! its perfectly exceptable for civilians to be killed by your enemy in the thousands (more than the Donbass bs).  What is the driving force, or reasoning that makes this valid course to pursue for the endless amount of years.

Baffling to say the least.

And this business of NATO having 10× the resources of Russia, well, what exactly are we measuring here?

Financial? How much of NATO’s wealth is Potemkin wealth? Can’t launch debt from a howitzer…

Population? Sure, the West outnumbers Russia, including outnumbering Russia in the population disgruntled with its leadership totals. Can’t fight Russia when your suburbs are on fire, your farmers are spraying muck at government buildings and your truck drivers are blocking motorways.

10×0 still equals 0.

Posted by: Jeremy Rhymings-Lang | Jun 28 2026 18:29 utc | 40

Or how about 10× the weaponry, which is needed when the weaponry only has 25% mission availability, so you end up with 4× the weaponry, with dubious reliability. And that’s just the F-35, the mission availability of the Royal Navy’s aircraft carriers doesn’t bear up to close scrutiny.

All this obsessing with Odessa. While it is true that Britain salivates about the place it is also near impossible to take. It has hundreds of kilometers of ancient catacombs and underground tunnels, just for starters. So I think the Russians will wait until the fruit starts to hang a little lower in a while.

Nope. Russians are sitting back watching NATO countries divorce themselves from the USA while the USA destroys the capitalist economy by stepping on a rake in Iran. Rare earth minerals are being rationed across the board in the west by China. Lockmart just delivered 3 F-35’s to the USMC without radars. Aviation fuel is going to get scarce and expensive.

Russians are chess players and the first rule of chess strategy is never stop your opponent while making a blunder. If Russia really did engineer Trumps victory it was money well spent. trump is destroying the USA politically, economically and militarily. He’s purging the military leadership of the best tactical minds and replacing them with cronies. Putin is using forces in Ukraine surplus of what he need to defend against NATO. He doesn’t waste his airforce on deep missions into Ukraine because he needs them to defend the border … same goes for air defences … he’s not moving air defences to protect oil refineries in western Russia to defend against drones with 10kg warheads full of  kerosene for impressive smoke and flame leaving a window open for  NATO nuclear bombers.

————————————————————–
Putin called for measures to protect oil refineries from Kyiv’s attacks.  June 28th, 2026 Russian Source.

Previously accumulated fuel volumes have entered the Russian domestic market, and Russia does have fuel reserves. Vladimir Putin announced this during a meeting on fuel supplies.

On the evening of Sunday, June 28, the Russian president held a meeting on fuel issues. In addition to government members, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin and the heads of major energy companies were also present. Putin proposed considering additional measures to stabilize fuel supplies. Furthermore, the president noted that previously accumulated fuel volumes have already been delivered to the domestic market. The remaining reserves amount to 1,7 million tons, which is in line with last year’s levels. This means there is no real fuel shortage. However, there are queues at gas stations, and some stations are out of stock of certain grades of gasoline.

Among Putin (the idiot) other statements: all refineries are currently operating at maximum capacity, with all capacities at full capacity. Fuel production in July will exceed June’s. However, measures must be taken to protect refineries and minimize damage from Kyiv’s attacks on the fuel infrastructure.

As the President emphasized, increasing supply and economically justified prices will help stabilize Russia’s fuel market.

Give it time. The USA is losing it’s extraordinary privilege. The USA’s military defeat in Iran has shown the USA can’t protect the Gulf states as agreed. Just last week the Saudi’s announced that they will now sell oil in any countries currency. If the Saudi’s did it the rest of the gulf states will soon follow. Countries buying Saudi oil no longer need to buy US debt to fund their oil habit. The USA has $10 T in debt turning over this year at more than double the borrowing cost and now with less demand for dollars they’ll have to offer an even higher rate to service their adebt

Yeah, I tend to put that in the same basket as “Kiev in 3 days”, the NAFO types setting artificial, false parameters for measuring Russian “success”, purely so they can crow when their own nonsensical targets aren’t met.

Just guessing on my part, but I think the issue of Odessa will form part of any negotiated settlement, or (again speculation), as the centripetal force of Kiev weakens, Odessa will be one of the oblasts seeking greater autonomy, with an eye on at least moving closer to Russia proper. It seems to continually be a hotbed of pro-Russian partisan activity, judging by various reports from different sources.

By now it’s very obvious Russia/Pootin don’t have the military capacity and will to take Odessa. They can’t even defend Moscow from the 500 drones a day send by Ukies as Russia cannot make enough missile interceptors to shoot down these drones. That’s what happens when you fight a war with one eye blind, one hand and one leg tied for 4 years. NATO finally found their wonderwuff that really works and cheap to make.

Either you fight a war seriously or you get off the potty and surrender. Don’t let your young men die so you can serenade live songs to your fellow Ukie Slavs. I saw a video where Russian soldiers executed surrendering Ukies one by one as they left their dugout. Soldiers on the front lines don’t like to see their friends executed by Ukies and Pootin pretends not to see. Wagner’s did that too but their chief got killed for truth telling.

malenkov: but HB_Norica said no such thing. I’m confused. Funny that one resident troll had a breakdown.

Here’s a general comment on Russia by someone who believes that Russia (or China, or Iran) cannot lose unless national cohesion breaks. For which there are no indicators: disagreements about tactics and strategy are much less. One reason why Russia / Soviet Union could win against Napoleon’s Europe, against the world-supported Whites after the revolution and against Hitler’s Europe is size: the Russian troops can pull back and pull back some more, making the front longer and thinner for the attacker until some counterattack succeeds. Moreover, you can move people and factories away from the from (happened both 1817 and 1942). This works as long as leadership and population agree on the essentials: preserving the country; defeating the enemy. This is the strategic power of size.

OTOH, and that’s why I am writing all this, the same size makes it impossible to prevent incursions. A sufficiently dedicated attacker can make inroads at any point he chooses. It’s probably not even possible to ensure 100% reliable informational border control. (Compare liberal democracies protecting their borders against civilian trespassing.) So there is a delayed response by HQ: get data, make a plan, send additional troops, fight. This is necessarily slow, especially in today’s media age where people are trained to expect instant fixes. We saw this in the August 2024 Kursk campaign. Was it successful for Ukraine? From a purely military POV probably not but propaganda-wise it was a success. There have been complaints that Russia could’ve done better. Sure but the point is that investing enough resources allows anyone to put up a fist that can march into Russia. They didn’t get far, never threatened the country as such and were quickly suppressed — but I realise half a year isn’t “quick” to most oberservers.

The drone attacks are similar, just on another front. Moscow will find a way to deal with it and there are several angles of attack: improve drone defense; suppress relevant locations in Ukraine (this is a big ask, again because of size); if need be, with “military-technical measures” (Russia’s choice of words before the 2022 operation). The West can prepare and execute an attack, Russia will suffer the consequences, adapt and react. The civilian casualties are sad and remain, the strategic space is unchanged or rather improves for Russia because another attack was used up.

Circling back: EU/NATO hopes that killing Russian citizens does something to national cohesion. This doesn’t work in most countries (see Iran for a strong example) but it works particularly badly with Russians who are conscious about that very goal.

The best way to take Odessa is to nuke Kiev, Nikolaiv, Kharkiv, Lviv, etc. in retaliation to Ukie terrorist attacks on Russian civilians and civil infrastructure. But it is not in the plan to take.

Russia should invest in new weapons systems that make use of heat waves that are frequent in Europe in summer. Naturally high temperature coupled with thermobaric and fuel air explosives can create a punishing weapon against western Europe. Drones that can cause wildfires can cripple their emergency services and add to the impact of heat waves. Climate change opens up new avenues in defense. Russia is uniquely positioned to gain.

——————————————-
On the night of June 28, Ukrainian drones attacked a bus depot in Skadovsk, Kherson region. The strike was carried out using drones equipped with incendiary devices. According to Alexander Dudka, head of the Skadovsk municipal district, 40 buses were destroyed in the fire.

According to authorities in the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions, the strikes on buses and agricultural land were targeted and aimed at damaging civilian infrastructure, logistics, and the region’s food supply.

Ukrainian Dragon Drones:
A dragon drone also known as “Dracarys” is a type of incendiary unmanned aerial vehicle initially developed and dubbed by Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense and Ukrainian private defense manufacturers. The drone is used to spray molten thermite, at a temperature of around 2,000 °C, at military targets in order to burn down natural barriers and fortifications that hold combatant military units.

Meanwhile, actually in Ukraine:

What Bankova is silent about, provoking an escalation, but is preparing a humanitarian catastrophe for Ukrainians in all sectors.

Damage to the Darnitsa plant in Kyiv is a blow to the country’s drug security and damage to the economy.Each such blow increases the loop of death that the average Ukrainian will feel in 3-4 months.

Stock up on everything! Especially medicines that will be in short supply and their prices will rise.The authorities will not tell you about this, but they will promote themselves on this.

Darnitsa was apparently a big pharmaceutical production facility, presuming it hadn’t been repurposed for military supplies.

And for all the “concern” expressed over Russian casualties, the level of Ukrainian casualties surely deserves equal consideration, including those casualties of the TCC, those casualties caused by hiding military components and personnel in amongst civilian populations, those casualties caused by shortages of power, heat and medication, which the Kiev junta ignore and cover up.

Odessa. While it is true that Britain salivates about the place ….  hundreds of kilometers of ancient catacombs and underground tunnels, just for starters.

The Establishment does.

Anyway, it’s all been good fun so far, with all the “concern” for Russia, Putin, the economy, the casualty levels but now it is time to turn the focus onto similar points applied to Ukraine:

For example, the topic of space for Ukrainian military cemeteries keeps cropping up, but nobody cares to address the reasons why this might be becoming an issue.

Or why the Kiev junta don’t listen to the few remaining sane voices in the Ukrainian military staff, telling the junta that defending indefensible positions isn’t going to lead to victory? Let alone progressing towards recovering Ukraine’s 1991 sovereign borders.

Nobody bothers themselves with asking why small arms originally delivered to Ukraine turn up in a weapons cache uncovered by Spanish police.

Or why TCC offices in Ukraine get shot and bombed by grenades and IEDs?

~~~
“Oh, but Putin is getting things wrong all the time.”. Uh-huh, so the West is always getting things right all the time? If that is the case, if Putin is weak, if the Russian people are implacably divided, now is the time for the West to decisively strike, get rid of the scourge of Russian civilisation that is illegally squatting on the resources that the West has an exceptionalist entitlement to?
Oh my god, this war with Russia against >30 NATO countries has gone on forever. Putin is soooo weak. Why can’t Russia manage to accomplish what the most powerful military in the history of human civilization managed in 20+ years and three presidential administrations in underdeveloped Afghanistan against 25,000 untrained shepherds in sandals and turbans, armed with DIY mines and WWII era Russian assault rifles?
Come on, Putin!
EU announced that it would buy the drones and transfer them to Ukraine, rather than handing over the cash for the Hohols to purchase them, due to now well known corruption in the Ukraine government, because it’s more effort for the cokeheads to sell the drones on the black market than it is to just straight up fill their suitcases with stolen Euros.
Well played sir! Indeed, Putin is so weak he can’t even run a disorganised evacuation from embassies and air bases, with people clinging hopelessly to undercarriages…
The part you convienently neglected was the casualties for US/Allied forces (trained child killers)
Approximately 2,459 U.S. military personnel were killed in Afghanistan from October 7, 2001, to August 30, 2021, with an additional 20,769 wounded. Allied forces also faced significant casualties, with coalition deaths totaling around 3,621 during the same period. WikiSource – even if these are generous numbers, put the figure at 20k-30k.
Now lets look at the past 4.5years of the Ukraine and Russia debacle, the casualties are astronomically higher than even the Gaza war.  By the very definition, this is infact a form of Genocide of a neighbouring civilation whether you like them or not.
Russians and Ukranians share alot of blood.
….Well, if I was you, I wouldn’t worry much about Russia. I would rather be deadly worried about Canada. Your country is being islamized, indianized, punjabized, philipinezed, Chinese… at such rate that very soon you will have only one option, move more north. While continue to hate and genocide first nation people. What a stupid people you Canadians are. You put so much effort to kill and extinguish falsley named “Indians”  only to get real, stinky one.
And what are you cheering about with “Go fucking Canada”. Who is playing for your Country, was any father, let alone grandfather, of any player born in your fucking nazzi loving country?
Did you watch England team? Was Harry Cane only white player?. Did you see team France? There was no white player there, none. You white people of the West lost your fucking countries, lost your lives and future for your kids. You are crazy white slave being extinguished, not Canuck! So leave Russia alone…
Doctorow and Diesen are catching up with how my views changed on Putin 2+ years ago. Are the natives are getting restless in Russia while others in alt media streams keep with the Russia is winning meme? The gloves are coming off is the latest spin.
Ritter’s big prediction of a massive assault on Kiev decision never happened after the whining over the cadet academy.
The credibility gap is widening fast.
  To all the smug Canuckleheads and other Putin haters.
1. Canada Imprisoned all Ukrainians during WW 1. Most were forced into unpaid labor building roads, etc. Canada. Lots of dirt under that worn-out pretend, in name only “liberal” country.
2. Canada has done business with Cuba for as long as I can remember. And Canada, smartly once did business with Russia.
3. Canada never went to war with Vietnam, nor Iraq. Just a bunch of Tim Horton Coffee houses in Afghanistan.
4. Putin has been fighting all of NATO. And NATO is LOSING.
5. Love the new tactics of burning down Ukrainian Gas Stations. Some 200-300 so far.
6. Oh, and Canada disappeared a few decades ago. Now we have Ghettos of Hindus, Sikhs, Pakistanis, Mainland and Hong Kong Chinese – all living the dream as Canada burns a hole through its empty pockets.
7. It’s a good thing that Brit/Europe anointed their bumboy for the job.  On the payroll of the Chosen, elected by Trump’s “51st State” epithet, and as vacuous a Prime Minister as Trudeau the Lesser.
