Iran has “no choice” but to develop a nuclear bomb, a media outlet linked to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said — the latest threat to the peace deal.
The article, titled “No choice but to build the atomic bomb,” claims that Iran must negotiate with its enemies from a position of strength, and was published by Iranian state news outlet Fars on Sunday.
“To achieve the peace and calm that Iran needs, it must absolutely reach nuclear deterrence to ensure that the rest of the issues can be resolved through negotiation,” thunders the piece, before comparing Iran’s situation with the US to that of China in the 1970s.
“America threatened China with nuclear attack twice — similar to Trump’s recent nuclear threats against Iran — but when did Kissinger secretly meet with the Chinese and then negotiate? It was when China built the atomic bomb,” the article continues.
“Nuclear deterrence means that you can reach a balance of power against America and Israel, who possess atomic bombs — not so that war does not happen, but so that the scope of conflict remains controllable,” it goes on.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding signed by Washington and Tehran earlier this month, Iran agreed to allow International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to regain access to its nuclear sites after oversight was suspended last year.
It also pledged it would not develop a nuclear weapon.
The US has called on Iran to pause all nuclear enrichment for 20 years.
It comes after the head of the IAEA called for his inspectors to be given full access to Iran’s nuclear sites to monitor the program.
“The government of Iran has affirmed quite clearly that [developing nuclear weapons] is not their intention, but of course, intentions are not enough,” IAEA Director-General Rafael Grossi told reporters on Friday.
“In order to have certainty, we need to have a very strong system of verification as soon as practicable,” he added.
Iran agreed to allow IAEA inspectors to return in September, but it has not yet granted access to the nuclear sites that were bombed by President Trump in 2025.
The country’s stores of enriched uranium remain unaccounted for.
Iranian politicians have also defended what they call the country’s right to defend itself, backing up the calls by state media.
“Iran’s military capabilities ensure the Iranian people’s inherent right to legitimate self-defence in the face of aggression and crimes, while at the same time guaranteeing peace and stability in the region,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei said in a statement on X on Friday, later attacking the country’s Gulf neighbors.
Baghaei accused the Gulf nations of “engaging in aggression against their Muslim neighbor,” and “remaining silent regarding the Israeli nuclear arsenal,” in his statement.

America can’t get the electronic components they need to rearm their military. The chips and the capacitors have been sucked up to build the literally hundred or more mega data centres for the AI boom.
Shares in Apple lost a quarter of a trillion dollars in value recently because of component shortage.
The tech billionaires have priority for supply and they are too powerful for Trump to sanction.
And as yet there is no fiscal allocation approved. Trump just asked for another 80 billion, 50.7 for rearming.

The US attacked Sirik again, using the excuse that Iran droned a tanker. Sirik was the place where the US destroyed the water supply of 20,000 people at the beginning of June.
It is on the Gulf of Oman, near the Strait of Hormuz. It seems to me that they might want to establish a base there, the way they did in Syria. So they are softening it up, again.
Everyone just believes CentCom when they claim that Iran attacked the tanker. Yesterday, I posed a question that no one answered, because they just assume CentCom is not lying, and they move on to justifying the attack CentCom asserts.
So I’ll ask again. From the Press TV article B posted:”The Islamic Republic has, on all occasions, categorically rejected any allegations of targeting non-military objects, while warning about attempts at trying to implicate the country in such attacks by staging “false flag” operations.The IRGC Navy also noted that the United States sought to violate its commitments under a memorandum of understanding recently signed between the two sides “through various provocations.” That sounds to me like Iran is denying hitting the vessel. If that is true, it puts a completely different light on this breakdown.

If Iran sent drones, they would admit it, along with stern warnings.

Everyone accepted it was Iran, and moved on from there. And I watched Nima and professor Marandi to see what they had to say about it. They both glossed over whodunnit. They didn’t say Iran did it, but they didn’t deny it either.

The Board of Peace has no budget, no office, no staff… it is a typical Trump muddle. Pledges of cash and manpower have not been met, and will not be met as proposed “reconstruction” in Gaza must join the queue of proposed reconstruction with Lebanon, Iran, etc. Trends suggest there is rather more deconstruction ahead.
The rushed-up Lebanon-Israel accord was likely coordinated with the simultaneous military action in Strait of Hormuz as a Neo-con response to the MOU – which itself (MOU) was a rushed-up event. There is little to suggest competence or unity with this US administration.

The reason N Korea is left alone is not just because of nukes; it’s much more because (1) they don’t have anything easily monitizable and (2) that they don’t have an irrational modern Sparta as a near-neighbor who needs to constantly expand and fight or wither away.

The analogy with North Korea is false. In the event of an existence-threatening attack on North Korea, that state would fire its nukes at states/populations for which it feels no sympathy, if not outright hostility: Japan, the USA and its Pacific Ocean bases, even (if it feels suicidal enough), South Korea with its androgynous capitalist degenerates. Iran, on the other hand, would find nukes useful only against “Israel”, and using them would result in the deaths of thousands if not millions of Palestinians, for which Iran, alone among states in the region, seriously and actively demonstrates sympathy. If Iran were to use nukes against the USA — the only other credible target absent adoption of the “Israeli” Samson Doctrine — it would first need ICBMs capable of delivering them, and to date nobody, and certainly not Iran, has offered credible evidence that Iran has or is even developing such.
Nobody seriously believes that Iran is working on a nuclear weapon, and yet this is the excuse that has been trotted out for any manner of hostile actions against Iran, from sanctions to warfare. One argument against having nuclear weapons is that all the GCC countries will immediately get some, too. How many days before KSA obtains weapons from Pakistan once Iran shows they are nuclear armed? What if everyone in the region goes on a MAD shopping spree?
If Iran is surrounded by nuclear armed neighbours, but also has its own nuclear weapons, will Iran be more, or less secure? Will the rest of the world be more, or less secure? Is closing the gulf a more secure, or la ess secure means of getting world attention? I don’t claim to have the answers, but it makes you think, doesn’t it?

The USA is conducting the largest logistical operation in its history – a statistical analysis.
This 30-second video shows the US air logistical activity in West Asia over the past seven days alone (accelerated by 20,000 times). At the same time, such activity has been ongoing around the clock for 76 days.
We are talking about the largest airlift in US military history, which surpasses even the operation during the Iraq war in 2003 in its scale. Such a volume of cargo transfers far exceeds the usual replenishment of supplies.
All US strategic warehouses in the region are almost fully loaded and continue to be brought to their maximum capacity.

Some people want to convince us that the Americans and Israelis have always been right, and that Iran has sought—and is still seeking—to acquire nuclear weapons.
I doubt they will succeed, given each side’s track record regarding truthfulness.
But one thing is certain: they certainly won’t succeed by quoting an American media outlet like NYP that claims to tell us what Iranians are thinking.
And what’s more, the so-called article cites no one claiming to speak on behalf of the Iranian authorities—not even the usual “anonymous official.”
What is the credibility of such a source?

As regards the nuclear issue, Iran has an very ambiguous agreement for support from Russia which stops short of being under the Russian nuclear umbrella (meaning that a nuclear strike on Iran would trigger a reciprocal nuclear strike from Russia.) At diplomatic levels this has been carefully thought out in consideration of neither China nor Russian wanting to trigger a race among the West Asian sultanates for nuclear weapons. This is a particularly cogent issue given the current interregnum wherein it has been shown that the US is not (as previously assumed) the ten ton gorilla who can unilaterally protect their satrapies. Iran’s diplomats are well versed in their craft and moving with expert coordination with Russia and China, never losing sight of the ultimate goal being to remove the tentacles of Uncle Sam from the middle east. Such removal will also serve to severely limit the powers of Israel to wage ruinous and unlawful wars fought with seemingly unlimited US equipment. armament and man power. Note Rubio’s grand tour of West Asia resulted in pretty much only an agreement between Aoun, Katz and himself for an “israeli ceasefire” in Lebanon, an Israeli ceasefire being one in which the oppositive side is not allowed to fire and Israel retains untrammeled opportunity for ostensibly defensive bombing of women, children and medics.

Apologize for the way off topic question but I found tonight that one of the greatest videos breaking down the assassination of Charlie Kirk including the strange behavior of the bodyguards and event people had been taken down off YouTube and is near impossible to find on Rumble or Odysee. It will have to double down on the sanctions, reintroduce the blockade, at the very minimum. How will this benefit Iran? As long as Iran is unable to strike the US mainland ( with conventional missiles), its ability to really deter the US, is limited. So, the current plan of going forward with a diplomatic solution with the control over Hormuz as the deterrent, is the best way forward. The recent skirmishes are nothing but the US trying to undermine Iran’s control over the Strait, and Iran asserting its right to do so.
Finally I would like to state till there is an alternative to the dollar world which the majority of nations are willing / able to use to transact business, sanctions by the West are very powerful economic tools, especially for South countries (Russia and China can manage because of their size). Without some sanctions relief, Iran cannot really prosper.

So what’s new? It’s been like that since the Houthis came to power. Hadhramaut is Sunni (like all South Yemen), the Houthis are Shi’a. Hadhramaut is not powerful enough to take San’a, and the Houthis can’t take or keep control of Hadhramaut. It’s a stalemate, whatever the arms put in by Saudi, or, formerly, UAE.

What the Israeli-Josep Aoun Secret Security Annex Reveals: The secret Israel-Lebanon security annex, if revealed as expected, will shake Lebanon because it exposes the real architecture hidden behind the public framework.
The public agreement speaks of sovereignty, withdrawal and reconstruction. The annex, however, appears to turn these words upside down.
Israel alone determines the scope of the so-called “pilot zones.”
It accepts no fixed timetable and no automatic withdrawal.
Everything remains open until Lebanon carries out all the demands imposed on it.
Israeli redeployment is therefore not a legal obligation. It becomes a reward granted only when Israel decides that Lebanon has performed satisfactorily.
Israel also defines the security zone. It decides which areas are included, which are excluded, and what the Lebanese army must do inside them.
The Lebanese army is not given a sovereign mission; it is handed an Israeli agenda through the American channel.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation army keeps freedom of movement throughout the occupied area under the pretext of confronting threats — a formula that can justify the continued destruction of villages and homes.
Inside the pilot zones, the Lebanese army is expected to act on maps, coordinates, and target lists prepared by Israel and transmitted by the United States. A US military team on Lebanese soil supervises the process directly. Israel then retains the right to verify the results.
Even more dangerously, an Israeli military force may accompany the American team to inspect Lebanese territory.
Only if Israel declares itself satisfied does it consider taking a withdrawal step. The return of Lebanese civilians to their villages, and the beginning of reconstruction are also made conditional on this process. Residents cannot return before Israel, through the American mechanism, is satisfied with the implementation.
Reconstruction is no longer a right. It becomes a tool of pressure.
The annex goes further by opening the Lebanese army itself to external scrutiny. A US-supervised mechanism is to examine the army from within, based on Israeli intelligence files listing officers and soldiers accused by Israel of being under Hezbollah’s influence or acting under its direction. The Lebanese state would be required to dismiss anyone who refuses to cooperate with this mechanism, potentially reaching the removal of the army command itself if it refuses to implement the agreement fully.
Finally, the annex creates a financial control system targeting Hezbollah’s networks, supporters and alleged affiliates. Under an Arab and international legal cover, Lebanon would be required to pursue money transfers to Hezbollah through institutions and individuals, open the entire financial-transfers file, and block funds justified as reconstruction support if they are suspected of benefiting Hezbollah.
A financial fund under Lebanese authority but American supervision is also proposed, to audit money flows and ensure that no funds reach any entity connected to Hezbollah.
This is not a security annex. It is a mechanism for placing Lebanese sovereignty under Israeli judgment and American supervision. Israel decides the zones, the threats, the verification, the timing of withdrawal and the conditions for return. The United States supervises the army, the maps, the financial system and the implementation. Lebanon is left to execute.
If this document is made public, the earthquake in Lebanon will not come from surprise. It will come from recognition: the public framework was only the diplomatic cover. The real concessions were buried in the secret security annex.
