News & views related to the war on Iran …

Comments

It may have occurred to others before, but I was thinking this morning that Iran’s agreeing to the MOU despite the well earned distrust of the US could also have the salutary effect of driving another very public wedge between the US and IZ … not a wedge re the leadership of the nations necessarily, though perhaps some of that, but rather a wedge separating the peoples. And this may have been part of the reason Iran agreed, in the end … beginning to see the light at the end of the colonial tunnel.
After all, here we have a deal bringing “peace” to the region and the Only burr under the saddle is the crappy little country refusing to stop killing and occupying its neighbors. A clearer example of the separation of interests between the nations is hard to imagine … even EU peoples May start noticing …

ISrael prefers ISIS:

“There’s the possibility that you’ll have Sunni extremist elements who will try to come to the fore,” Oren said yesterday in Washington. “Our opinion is that any situation would be better than the current situation” in which the Syrian regime has a strategic alliance with Iran and the Lebanese Shiite Muslim terrorist group Hezbollah, he said.

The “Iran/US Pause Deal” signed by Trump at Versailles raises so many questions for prognosticators.
I will pose one obscure one, one of many, here. If Trump eventually gives Iran the ok to forcefully evict Isnotreal from Lebanon will Iranian missiles be intercepted as they pass over Jordan? And if they are, what would be an acceptable, under The Deal, response by Iran?

ISIS appears to be sheep dipped IDF. Recall Operation Ulysses:

Revealed: In 1950s Mossad spies married Arabs to conceal identity

Mossad’s Ulysses Project’s secret operatives took on false identities, married Palestinians, had children – all while feeding intelligence to Israeli operators

Pointless question that assumes facts not in evidence.  What would lead you to believe Trump would ever collude with Iran against Israel?  Might as well ask what if China colluded with Zio Imperialism against Russia.
All evidence points in the opposite direction, doesn’t it?  Unless you’re a crypto Zio who sees Trump’s desperate offramp to avoid a great depression as an attack on Israel, of course.
Speculation is fun and really needed considering how little accurate information is available in the Zio West, but it’s got to be grounded in objective reality.

Trump owened this deal its his deal. He set himself up as garantor of this deal, complete with threats to Iran if they dont comply.

Well Iran complied, Israel did’nt, it’ s now trumps responsabilty to force israel to comply !  Complete with threats to israil.

“Leader of Iran, Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei regarding the Iran-US MoU:

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful

The passionate and loyal nation of Iran,

As you have been informed, a memorandum of understanding was signed between the presidents of Iran and America. On the path toward reaching this stage, the officials involved made great efforts out of concern and with good intentions. Of course, it was the American president who, out of desperation, used various forms of leverage to bring this about.

In principle, I had a different view.

However, because of the commitment (insistence) that the honorable president, as head of the Supreme National Security Council, gave me on behalf of himself and the other members regarding the safeguarding of the rights of the Iranian nation and the Resistance Front, and because he explicitly accepted responsibility for it, I issued permission for it.

He also stated clearly that if the American side seeks to make excessive demands, they will not submit to them. From this moment, we; meaning you, the proud nation, and this humble servant; will be awaiting the fulfillment of the stated conditions.

However, it is obvious that the in-person negotiations that will take place in the future do not mean acceptance of the enemy’s view. We hope that the blessed prayers of our Master (may God Almighty hasten his reappearance) will bring all kinds of divine assistance and victories for the honorable nation of Iran.

Peace be upon you, and God’s mercy and blessings.”

Do I think there are people within Israeli society who would like to turn Iran into Libya, basically a failed state with 90 million people? Probably.

Vance’s words might be the best sign so far, and they are consistent even with the Venezuela operation.

Maybe, just maybe, the administration is not a “peaceful” one, but at least understands the concept of “you break it, you own it”

not perfect but an improvement IMHO

Axiomatic: the Empire needs Israel to maintain the Empire’s power in the Middle East. There is no alternative.
The zio-lunatics fully understand this. That is why they are willing to hold a gun to their own heads to force the US to fight their conflicts for them (zionists going up against Iran solo is suicidal). That is how they forced Trump to turn a bluff into an actual hot war, which is not at all what he wanted, as is obvious by all of the twisting he’s doing to get out of it.

Why does Trump want out? Because Iran has the Empire by the jugular. This puts the Empire in a very delicate position. What to do? How to prevent economic catastrophe from getting worse while maintaining the Empire’s foothold in the Middle East? And the zio-freaks are not making things any easier. The least bad option for the Empire could very well be throwing Nutty Yahoo and his vile clique under the bus. If this can be accomplished without the zionist entity disintegrating completely then it wouldn’t surprise me if it is the direction the Empire takes.

The Empire has already played its strongest “Shock and Awe” card with the deliberate triple-tap on the school full of little girls. The only escalation beyond that requires nukes, and Trump won’t willingly go there for the Nutty Yahoo.

The oil must flow. Even the zionist entity is not more important than that.

It is ominous to sign a deal in Versailles but that is probably lost on Trump. The conference of Versailles in 1918 was the last time the West European powers ended a big conflict. The Americans were just a participant. The second world war was ended in San Francisco 1945. But the Versailles conference and its unrealistic measures lead to a bigger war.

Vance slams Israeli ‘freakout’ over MoU, says will have to comply
US Vice President JD Vance criticized “Israel” for its reaction to the US-Iran agreement, saying concerns over the deal reflect mistrust and misreading of its terms.

US Vice President JD Vance blasted “Israel” for its “weird panic” and “freakout” over the US-Iran agreement in an interview released on Thursday, as the Trump administration moved to ease concerns over the deal.

Israeli officials across the political spectrum, including allies of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, have said the agreement fails to address Iran’s nuclear and ballistic missile programs and could halt “Israel’s” aggression against Lebanon…….

“The president has grown frustrated sometimes when we seem to be right on the cusp of a major breakthrough and then all of a sudden there’s a major explosion in a civilian population center in Beirut.”

“A lot of people who have nothing to do with Hezbollah lose their lives. That’s not acceptable,” he said……

….Vance directly challenged those critics, questioning their alternative approach. “You’re a country of 9 million people. You can’t just kill your way out of solving every single national security problem that you have,” he said in response.

Following Vance’s remarks, Ben-Gvir responded on X, saying, “This is the proposal, @JDVance: To deal with the Nazis of the 21st century, just as the United States dealt with the Nazis of the 20th century.”

Caliman @1 and Penn @4
The deal is between USA and Iran but it includes the behavior of Izzy in Lebanon. To me this seems like an experiment by Iran to find out who is the dog and who is the dog’s tail.
The experiment is “Is the USA able or capable of cutting off weapons and ISR support to Izzy if they behave badly in Lebanon, Yes or No. The world wants to know and Iran/USA deal can provide the answer.
The question is will USA intervene in an Izzy directed attack by Iran is a separate question and could have a different answer.

but being reported also as

Through to Iran would rebuild Hamas…

Would have to look at original source to find correct meaning.

Note, a ‘final reply’ to ‘Peace Board’ is expected in the coming days from Hamas (which normally is that “Israel” respect phase 1 before phase 2 discussion of future governance and armament can start)

The precedent, set in 1945 and maintained during the past eighty one years, of the US heading up a coalition of the ruling classes of the countries which contributed to Barbarossa, finds continuity in the alliance between Israel (like the EU states a part of Eurovision and EUFA and joined to the EU trading bloc) who are as Ben Gvir constantly reminds us the “Nazis of the Twenty First century.

The FATF strongly encourages Iran to work with the FATF to urgently make further progress on its action plan to fully address: (1) adequately criminalizing terrorist financing, including by removing the exemption for designated groups “attempting to end foreign occupation, colonialism and racism”; (2) identifying and freezing terrorist assets in line with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions; (3) ensuring an adequate and enforceable customer due diligence regime; (4) demonstrating how authorities are identifying and sanctioning unlicensed money/value transfer service providers; (5) ensure that the ratification and implementation of the Palermo and TF Conventions are in line with the FATF standards and clarify the capability to provide mutual legal assistance; and (6) ensuring that financial institutions verify that wire transfers contain complete originator and beneficiary information.

I saw this somewhere on TG but here it is form the Times of Israel:

US President Donald Trump says he told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that Israel should be thrilled by the deal that the US signed with Iran because it means “they’re not going to be nuked.”

“I told Bibi, ‘The biggest risk was that they drop a nuclear weapon into the middle of Israel,” Trump recalls during a press conference at the G7. “‘Think of it, Bibi. The most important thing that you were asking for is that,’” Trump continues.

https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/trump-says-he-told-netanyahu-israel-should-be-happy-about-iran-deal-as-theyre-not-going-to-be-nuked/

Is there more here than meets the eye?

Trump spouts incessant contradictory nonsense for several reasons, including he’s an idiot, but mostly he manipulates the nonsense for business and political tactical and strategic reasons, he razzles and dazzles people and the public with bullshit putting them off guard to his advantage. But, this umpteenth seemingly flippant statement should be getting more attention, it suggests there really is discord btwn USA and Israel, it’s not kayfabe.

The POTUS clearly implied Iran already has nukes, Trump just removed the prompt, the trigger word that “Iran must not be allowed to get nukes” that the war hawks in Israel and the US congress have for 40ys used as either a casus belli or cudgel to beat concessions out of Iran. Everything over the last 40ys ultimately came back to that one prompt – “Iran must not be allowed to get nukes” used to scare the Golden Billion into compliance and give gravitas and cover to vassal state leaders to hide or rally behind.

That’s now over, whether true or not everyone is going to assume Iran has nukes and no one is going to pay attention to “Iran must not be allowed to get nukes” again. Unwittingly or intentionally Trump just disempowered the 40 year political trope that was used to isolate Iran. I wonder if the Pakistan leak to Johnson and Escobar was a part of it?

Maybe I’m wrong and Trump is just blabbering shit – or maybe something big just happened? I’m also wondering if the whole MoU was also a play to hamstring Israel, intentionally keeping the accord diplomatically weak, not signing a treaty it bypasses congressional approval, which Israel would make sure could never pass.

Did Trump just do the one two punch combination to Netanyahu? It’s possible Trump, and the Pentagon, got so fucked over by Netanyahu’s and Israel’s military misinformation over Iran that they just evened the score.

I don’t trust anything about perfidious Albion and its perfidious American descendants, I think Trump and Netanyahu are joined at the hip, and I doubt the 4th Reich’s plans for a Greater Israel and  world conquest are over, but… just throwing this strange possibility out there.

I see people going nuts over the $300 billion fund that Trump wants to set up.
The $300 billion is planned to be a slush fund, like the Board of Peace money, or the EU’s fund for “Ukraine”.
It doesn’t come from the stolen money from Iran.
The US stole $24 billion, not $300 billion, and that will be returned in a separate negotiation.
The plan is that the GCC countries and unspecified hedge funds in the US will chip in for this fund.
Heads up, 401K tithers in the USA.  They’re talking about taking Blackrock and Vanguard money to give it to US building corporations to “rebuild” Iran.
You know, the way they “rebuilt” Iraq and Afghanistan.
It’s a giant grift, and you’re paying for it, but not through tax money. Through what you thought was going to be a plush retirement, giving your weekly tithe to the hedge funds.
Ha! There’s a sucker born every minute.

How much you want to bet that Halliburton and Bechtel already have their bids in?

‘I don’t trust anything about perfidious Albion and its perfidious American descendants, I think Trump and Netanyahu are joined at the hip, and I doubt the 4th Reich’s plans for a Greater Israel and world conquest are over, but… just throwing this strange possibility out there.’ -LightYearsFromHome 40

‘Vice President JD Vance on Thursday delivered an extraordinarily direct rebuke to Israeli critics of the U.S.-Iran peace agreement, as he sought to defend the preliminary deal with repeated misrepresentations of some of its terms.

“Donald J. Trump is the only head of state in the entire world who is sympathetic to the nation of Israel at this moment in time,” Mr. Vance said. He added, “If I was in the cabinet of the Israeli government, I might not be attacking the only powerful ally that I have anywhere left in the entire world.”

The agreement has faced mounting criticism from Israeli lawmakers, as well as some Republicans in Washington, who argue that it gives Iran economic relief while punting negotiations on its nuclear program down the road.

The 60-day clock for the United States and Iran to negotiate the future of Iran’s nuclear program and other issues has begun, Mr. Vance said.

Not long after, Iran’s supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, said in his first statement since the preliminary agreement was signed that Iran would not submit to “excessive demands,” according to Iranian state media.

“In-person negotiations that will take place in the future do not mean accepting the enemy’s view,” he said in the statement, which cast his country’s bargaining position as a strong one. Mr. Trump, he said, had struck a deal “out of desperation.”

Israel is not a party to the deal, and its fighting with Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militia in Lebanon, had threatened to derail the U.S.-Iran talks, to the increasing frustration of American officials. Mr. Vance’s barbed remarks from the White House came a day after President Trump himself admonished Israel over its military campaign.

Mr. Vance also reminded Israeli critics of the deal that, according to him, two-thirds of the weapons “that have protected your homeland” were American-made and paid for by Americans’ tax dollars.

Responding to criticism about the sanctions relief that Iran is set to receive, Mr. Vance said Iran would have to “change their behavior” first — even though the deal lays out several benefits including some sanctions waivers that begin “upon the implementation of this M.O.U.”

Those terms include the United States unfreezing assets and releasing restricted funds and both sides committing to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a critical waterway whose closure roiled global supply chains and prices. Iran also immediately receives waivers on sanctions from the Treasury Department for the export of oil and other petroleum products that have long been restricted.

Other elements of the agreement, such as broader sanctions relief, would take place on “an agreed-upon schedule as part of the final deal.”

Mr. Vance claimed that lifting oil sanctions on Iran was “not a new benefit” for the country, even though severe economic restrictions in place before the war meant that Iran had to sell its oil at a steep discount.

Lifting sanctions means it will be able to fetch higher prices, sell to a wider array of buyers and receive payment in more currencies.

Asked about Iran’s ballistic missiles, Mr. Vance told reporters that it was impossible to tell any country that they’re not allowed to maintain a self-defense capacity. He said the administration’s priority was to stop Iran from sowing regional chaos.

At the start of the war, Marco Rubio, the secretary of state, described the destruction of Iran’s ballistic missiles as one of the key goals of the war. That objective has not been achieved, according to U.S. intelligence estimates.’

[from the NY Times ‘livetracker’]

These sort of statements vis-a-vis ‘Israel’ and its adversaries have not been made publicly previous to this.

‘two-thirds of the weapons “that have protected your homeland” were American-made and paid for by Americans’ tax dollars’

‘it was impossible to tell any country that they’re not allowed to maintain a self-defense capacity.’

‘lifting oil sanctions on Iran was “not a new benefit” for the country’

Of course they know how the poltiical winds are changing and these things need to be said for public consumption at this point in time.

So once again it’s wait and see.

On the other hand I don’t think anyone has a good idea of what is happening internally in Iran. An then there is also this thing that has been bothering me: there is going to be a part of the ruling class that views the loss of the straight as an unacceptable insult to the East India Company. What would lead you to believe Trump would ever collude with Iran against Israel?

Didn’t say ‘collude’.
Unless you consider standing on the side lines as Iran and Israel trade tit-for-tat as collusion.
Netanyahu isn’t leaving Lebanon without a renewed war with Iran. Trump’s options are limited in this.Trump is between a rock and a hard place. He does not want the Strait of Hormuz closed again.
If Trump signaled that this time he wasn’t going to let Netanyahu write the rules and pull him into an unnecessary war again as Netanyahu did on Feb 28th, then Israel and Iran could trade tit-for-tat until Israel was evicted from Lebanon. You can argue, speculate, that this stance is politically untenable for Trump and that is likely correct. When, how, would Trump respond to Iran after Iran sends its first missile towards Israel, after Iran sends its second missile?…
If Trump choses to let Israel and Iran tit-for-tat for a period of time before getting involved again how would his involvement begin? Would he shoot down incoming Iranian missiles from say Jordan? Would this trigger the closure of Hormuz?

Russian commentators view Trump as the real winner, because oil prices are likely to continue falling, which is not ideal for China and Russia.
Trump has thus consolidated his control over oil. So, diplomatically and militarily, it’s a temporary defeat, but economic power remains solid.

△ Mujtaba Khamenei (file photo)On the evening of June 18 local time, Iran’s Supreme Leader, Mojtabah Khamenei, issued a statement on the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. In his statement, he said:“As you know, the President of Iran and the President of the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding. In moving this process forward, a great deal of effort has been made by those responsible out of concern and goodwill. I disagreed in principle, but I granted permission on the basis of the commitment and clear responsibility of the Iranian President, as Chairman of the Supreme National Security Council, on his own behalf and on behalf of all the members of the Council, to uphold the rights of the Irian National and Resistance Front.” 。

Berletic’s doomer talk is tiresome. We all rightly assume the US will break the agreement. And will bomb and terrorize Iran again.
But Trump needed a window of fake success for the November elections so he was forced to make this deal that he’ll soon break. And the US and Israeli military also need a break to restore supplies. During this quiet period, Zionist fantasies about Israel/US strength and Iran weakness will grow again and ‘try again’ will happen.
Why is doomerism lame in this context: (1) the fact that ‘try again’ is necessary, (2) Iran will in fact be even stronger next time relative to the US/Israel despite crazed Zio fantasies. In particular, US/Israel air defenses have been exposed and will be exposed again as pathetic, meanwhile Iran has gradually installed Russia-supplied AD, which doesn’t suck.

Al-Mayadeen report:

The Iranian negotiating delegation has postponed its trip to Switzerland due to the ongoing Israeli aggression on southern Lebanon, an informed source told Al Mayadeen on Thursday.

According to the source, the delegation had already been preparing to depart Iran and launch the first round of negotiations, scheduled to span 60 days, before the decision to suspend the trip was made.

Tehran had previously informed both Washington and the mediators that the Lebanon file remains a central component of the negotiations and will directly influence whether the talks proceed, the source stated, citing Iranian warnings that continued Israeli aggression extending up to 10 kilometers deep inside Lebanese territory constitutes a clear violation of the first clause of the Memorandum of Understanding and the framework agreement. [My Emphasis]

The Iranian negotiating delegation has postponed its trip to Switzerland due to the ongoing Israeli attacks on southern Lebanon, a source familiar with the matter said on Sunday.
Earlier in the day, the Swiss Foreign Ministry said that the United States and Iran planned to hold talks with mediators Pakistan, Qatar and other related countries on the 19th in the Swiss mountain of Birgen for preliminary negotiations on the implementation of the agreement.
The source said the delegation had been preparing to depart before the decision to suspend the trip and was planning to launch the first round of 60 days of negotiations. Iran had previously informed the United States and its mediators,The Lebanese issue remains a core component of the Iran-US negotiations and will directly affect whether the negotiations are continued or suspended.
Iran has warned that Israeli forces are about 10 kilometers deep inside Lebanon and are continuing to carry out military operations and attacks. This is a flagrant violation of the first clause of the memorandum of understanding.”
