Nothing has changed for oil IMO. US crude oil inventory keeps getting drawn down, and almost all tankers in the Persian gulf are ridden with barnacles, which could potentially halve their speed and double fuel consumption if/when they start going.
 
IMO it’s mostly paper games. Many valued analysts I’ve been watching say oil will float to $200, say – by end of 2028. And there are other factors playing into it too.

If Russian oil is cheaper in Africa despite the distance and transportation costs, it will always have a market there.
 
Gas used for heating or plastics are automatically separated in large quantities during refining, whereas it is more complicated to separate them from natural gas.
 
Sulfur exists in mineral form underground, but it is the sulfur separated during oil refining that is easier to obtain pure and in large quantities.
 
The Haber-Bosh process for producing ammonia and urea uses natural gas and has become the established industrial standard.
There are other chemical methods for obtaining ammonia; it’s simply a matter of cost and the economic maturity of the technology.
 
The electric car had a head start at one point in the early days of the automobile, but it was the internal combustion engine that ultimately prevailed.
 
It would be naive to believe that simply because a “cleaner” alternative exists, a widely used good or process will be replaced. It’s more complicated than that.
 
In Africa, several countries have subsidized cooking gas in the hope of replacing the use of wood.
But a traditional stove costs next to nothing, while a gas stove costs more than the average monthly income.
As a result, wood and charcoal still account for over 80-90% of consumption.

To have even minimal chances of securing a real peace arrangement, Iran needs to insist that the U.S. GOVERNMENT PUBLICLY PROMISES TO HONOR BASIC TERMS, such as non-interference in domestic matters according to the time-honored principles of the Peace of Westphalia. 
At a minimum, President Trump, VP Vance, Secretary of State Rubio and two or three Democratic leaders would need to state, in separate, prominent, public appearances before American audiences, that it is in America’s interest to respect Iran’s interests as an independent country, and that the U.S. will honor those principles, now and in future.  
This kind of mechanism – insisting on public promises affirmed in public before a group’s own constituency – was used with some success to stem a rash of hostage taking by various groups in the Lebanon in the 1970s.   
Obviously, many other arrangements on the ground (e.g. withdrawal of forces and removal of bases and other facilities) need to be in place for any peace arrangement to “take” at least for a period.

Yes – but also the energy density per unit volume for hydrogen is low. Proponents of liquified H2  as a fuel always quote energy density of H2 in terms of KJ/Kg. The inconvenient fact is that liquid hydrogen has a density of about 71 gm/L (71 Kg/m^3), so divide the KJ/Kg by a factor of about 14 to get KJ/L. Alternatively, multiply your storage/transport volume requirements for petrol/diesel by 14…
 
Doesn’t look so attractive now, does it? Add in the requirement for special materials for tanks, cryogenics to maintain liquid state storage… This is NOT to say that hydrogen has no place as an energy source – but reality is a hard taskmaster!

 Watched a DW video yesterday with Patrick Hennington as guest. He said that Iran’s threat to attack Israel if Israel bombs Beirut is real. A game changer in his opinion.
I did see Israel politicians complaining that no other country has the right to decide what Israel can and cannot do.
