Another rotten lettuce – i.e. British prime minister – just left his office.

I am not aware of anyone who will be sad about it.

However – Keir Starmer was at least elected as party leader. He had spent time in the opposition and had won a parliament election in 2024.

The clone the powers that be have selected as his replacement has, in comparison, zero democratic legitimacy. He ‘won’ a by-election that was specifically arranged to allow him to step up. The party membership and the general public have had no say in selecting him.

The new guy, one Andy Burnham, is, like Starmer, an authoritarian, sociopathic neo-liberal who will do whatever either Trump, the Zionist lobby or city of London are going to tell him to do.

Why is the British public condoning this charade ?

From the answer I got that they were not related but James father was an english immigrant to the US.

I emigrated from Britain 52 years ago. When we were at school we had a strong belief in the legitimacy of the government as something that worked for the public. We had faith in the public service and justice system. We believed in health and education free for all. And we were politically involved in the major parties and unions etc.

As to what the average Brit thinks, sadly, whatever they are instructed. Perhaps what we are witnessing in the UK is that a growing number of people are throwing their hands up at all of them. The rotation isn’t nearly as effective as it used to be and that voting for one set of arseholes over another is kind of pointless. There is a smaller still number who have come to appreciate that the reason the parliamentary system here doesn’t work is because it isn’t presently (and hasn’t for an over long time) been true to its actual operating system, less revolutionary, more of a restoration/renaissance, bit of a pipe dream but it holds out more hope to get back to lawful governance arrangements than any of the crop of misguided wankers who stand to be elected either know or care about.

Historical precedent for this – in the 2015 Labour leadership election, Burnham stated if he became leader his first official overseas visit would be to Israel.
He finished second in that election (in a field of four) with 19% of the vote, a loooong way behind Corbyn on 59.5%
One of the changes Starmer brought in was to change how leaders can be elected – basically more power to the (almost totally right wing) MPs and a lot less to the membership.
The aim of this was to make sure another ‘Corbyn moment’ couldn’t happen. And of course it also means that the leadership is guaranteed to be pro-Israel, Ukraine and neo-liberalism.

And immediately after Brexit, Farage tried to obtain German citizenship (his wife, or is she ex-wife ? is/was German, his kids by her have dual-citizenship). Did you know that ? The Germans wisely turned him down. Had he been successful, Reform UK wouldn’t exist and Farage would probably be a Euro MP for AfD.

Another member of the Elite, Boris Johnson’s father, applied for and got French citizenjship.

The elite didn’t want the general public to be EU citizens, but they wanted to retain it for themselves. There were quite a few millionaire Brexit bankrollers who nevertheless obtained EU citizenship by becoming Maltese citizens (Maltese citizenship could be fast-tracked for a suitable donation).
