Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

Trump Leaves China With Little In Hand

President Trump’s visit to China has ended.

I had predicted that there would be no tangible outcome from that trip:

Trump is coming to Beijing with his cap in his hand. He, as usual, will try to bluff a way to ‘victory’. He will proceed as if the U.S. were in a great position. The Chinese will be polite, but won’t have any of it.

There have been little preparations for the trip. The sherpas did not convene beforehand to straighten out serious issues between the countries. There are no big contracts or treaties to sign.

One hope had been to sell some 500 Boeing jets to several Chinese airlines. Returning from the trip Trump has claimed that China would buy 200 airplanes. The Chinese Foreign Ministry declined to confirm that. Boeing’s stock price dropped.

Some 20 company bosses had joined Trump on the trip. But there seem to have been no plans or tasks for any of them. No deals were made, no contracts were signed.

Trump offered to lift the U.S. blockade on the sales of some older NVIDIA AI chips to China. China declined as it now makes its own chips with similar characteristics.

The Chinese side spoke of a “new positioning” and a “constructive strategic stability” as major outcomes of the talks.

The “new positioning” is seeing the U.S. and China as equals with China being objectively in a better position.

The “constructive strategic stability” could be interpreted as an advise to the U.S. to shut up and stay quiet while China is doing its thing:

President Xi clearly pointed out that “constructive strategic stability” means positive stability with cooperation as the mainstay, healthy stability with competition within proper limits, constant stability with manageable differences, and lasting stability with expectable peace. These “four stabilities” paint a clear and feasible blueprint for China-US relations. It is not a stopgap measure, but a long-term approach. It is not a zero-sum game, but a mutual benefit and win-win cooperation. The “four stabilities” lead strategic stability with a constructive attitude and safeguard long-term development through strategic stability, fully demonstrating that China-US relations are a relationship between major powers fully capable of helping each other succeed and prospering together.

While Trump was in China some 30 Chinese ships moved through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with the Iranian authorities. Given that Trump was in China the U.S. blockaders in the Arab Sea did not dare to make attempts to stop those ships. This has thus has set a precedence which will allow continues Chinese shipping.

For China the Strait is open.

Stocks, gold and oil prices move up and down in sychron with Trumps announcements and hopes of the traders in them. Now the peak of the stocks seems to be over and a slow decline seems go to realistic levels. It may get worse when the blockade of the US will continue. If it comes to new attacks and destruction of energy plants, it will be much worse.

Now that the subservient field trip has concluded its time for more boom-boom.
All the hardware is in place sooooo….  I rather doubt that Team Z is simply going to pack up and go home.
I also doubt that Iran & Friends are keen on having the US carrier group, the squadrons of F-16s and the Marine expeditionary forces linger around for the slow boil. I imagine that most of the targets are registered already. Plenty of time has gone by and various windows are narrowing by the day…..

You people live in some fantasy world of US weakness.  I have noticed that “b” rarely brings up the descent of Germany into economic and cultural destruction.   Trump is setting up a new coalition of the USA, Russia and Chinese alliance and regional hegemony.  It’s happening.  Even if a sickly German and his little forum of cucks write 1000 word responses of silly gobbledygook.

Absolutely right. But you’re missing the main point.

The goal isn’t to achieve a different outcome; the goal is to siphon public money into private pockets.

Consider the possibility that China is buying those in order to lease them back to Western operators at more favourable leasing rates than the Western finance/leasing companies can offer. Given the trends in Western debt financing, China could well pull this off, further wrenching influence and control away from the Western Hegemon.

Just a hunch, I’ve no inside information, but looking at the rate of expansion of the Chinese high-speed rail network the jets won’t be needed for internal traffic. It‘s a larger-scale version of what happened to Air France’s internal flights once the LGV routes expanded.

I’m afraid that’s incorrect.  There’s a reason Germany is still the key power in the EU/Europe and it’s not only because of its still great industrial capacity.

The German armed forces came back from the dead in the last century to become the most formidable army in Europe.  That in conditions fully as adverse as todays.  After that recovery they were eventually to lead or to use the resources of most of the countries of Europe in the most savage attack on Russia ever seen, worse even than 1812.  The Russians of all people are fully aware of that.  What they don’t want is a Festung Europa redivivus.

That’s the only reason why the Russians aren’t knocking hell out of a defenceless Europe right now in response to the current quite extraordinary provocations from the Europeans.  The Russians are no longer interested in Europe.  They are not interested in trading with it, fighting with it, and least of all in dominating it.  They just want Europe to go away.   They have business elsewhere. If they can avoid it, they do not wish to to spend the next decade and more having to  worry about a growing menace on their Western borders.

So a lot hangs on whether the Europeans, this time including the UK, do “go away”.  A lot hangs on whether we in Europe will tread the path trodden before or whether we shall come to our senses and focus on repairing our own shattered fortunes.  Germany, not France or the UK or Poland, is the key player in that decision.

As for the “fantasy world of US weakness”, that’s no fantasy.  We discovered that over the last four years and you’re behind the times if you did not also get the message.  The US is shot, diplomatically, militarily, and economically.  A once great country has brought itself down to that condition and it’ll take more than Trumpian braggadocio to recover that former greatness.

Trump had planned that he would be meeting Xi with the following things achieved:
– Subjugation of Venezuela: partially done
– Subjugation of Iran: quite the opposite
– Assassination of Putin (Trump’s complicity in this is becoming more obvious, and definitely his M.O. when not getting what he wants): failed
– Crippling of Chinese economy with reduction in oil imports: failed
The trade war with China has turned out to be a complete failure, and Trump was unable to manipulate Putin into losing victory at the negotiating table. So he escalated and failed badly. The Chinese have also shown that they have planned well for dealing with any reduction in oil imports, with the current 3.5 mbpd reduction not requiring any emergency actions, while the world comes to buy Chinese “clean energy” products in the face of much higher oil prices. Chinese ships now seem able to traverse the Strait of Hormuz and the US blockade, as B notes, the Strait is open to the Chinese. At what point do the South Koreans, Japanese, Indians and Europeans start paying the tolls? Pakistan has also opened up its borders to Iran as an entrepot, also desperately needing the supplies of LPG (60% of which came from Iran pre-war) that much of its population relies on for cooking and heating.

The Chinese and Russians cannot have much respect for a man who happily murders and kidnaps national and religious leaders (Soleimani, Maduro, Khamenei), aims to murder his opposition’s negotiators in the middle of negotiations, and openly supports an ongoing genocide while enriching himself and his family while in office, and cavorting with a pedophile. At the summit he looked more like a boy who had been caught with his hand in the cookie jar trying to flatter his way out of consequences. The general amateur night nature of his administration was also on full display.

The change in relationship was very evident, with the Chinese always polite but assertive. Including the obvious snub of Xi not meeting Trump at the airport, together with extensive ceremony that ate up the time of a 2-day summit. Trump’s demeanour when he was questioned after the 3 hour private meeting was very evident of a person who had been taken down a peg or two. The CEO’s were there to pay tribute to a Chinese leadership that they need help from to grows their sales. The Chinese have gone from “keeping a low profile” to “striving for achievement” to “being the boss”.

The Trump administration’s attack on Iran may turn out to be the equivalent of Athen’s Sicilian expedition, starting out with a bang followed by an enervating defeat; opening them up to defeat by the Peloponnesian League / Russia-China alliance. It is even questionable whether or not Trump can “have another go” at Iran given the depletion of the stand-off weapons stores, the devastation done to the US regional bases, the change in stance from Saudi Arabia and others who understand the devastation that would be rent upon them, and the increasing evidence of how little impact the attacks had upon the Iranian war fighting capabilities. With the US 10 year interest rate now above 4.5%, Trump also has a possible financial crisis on his hands if he does not retreat. And the US summer driving season is nearly upon us. The narcissistic Trump will not want to go down in history as a lame duck president under constant impeachment proceedings for him and members of his candidate from a Democratic dominated House and Senate. His oligarchic backers will also be very cognizant of the downsides of another go at Iran, one that has a very low probability of success.

In years to come, this may be seen as the point of accelerating US decline and Chinese rise to prominence. I cover the above in more detail as Trump’s Trip To China

Very well put. Both the Russians and Chinese are playing relatively gently with the Europeans to manage their decline gracefully. You can even see this with the pricing of the Chinese electric vehicles in Europe, just competitive enough to slowly drain the life out of the European car manufacturers but not too competitive to create an immediate crisis. By then, the Europeans will be too weak to be assertive; especially with so many Chinese car manufacturing plants set up outside Germany (Turkey, Hungary, Spain, Austria) and so many European manufacturers now in bed with the Chinese. The same with the Chinese and rare earths, they wont cripple the US economy unless absolutely forced to but they will cripple the US MIC with dual use controls. If we escape a wider war, it will be because of the long term planning, intelligence, patience and subtlety of the Russian and Chinese leadership in managing the West’s decline.

This is what so many miss when they complain about the Russian “slow” progress in Ukraine, the Russian leadership does not want to create an immediate crisis that can be used by the European powers to drag their populations into war. Better to drain their strength slowly until they are no longer capable of such things.

“Something that struck me is that even our columnist Pepe Escobar has stopped believing in BRICS and he was like an ambassador for BRICS, always romanticizing and supporting it.

They are proving now that they do not act as any coherent political bloc and there is no outcome to this. And if anyone still needs more proof that BRICS is far weaker than it and those that cheerlead BRICS claim, they got it this week. Iran, a full BRICS member came to New Delhi expecting solidarity and the group could not jointly condemn this US-Israeli aggression.

So  a BRICS member is under attack and it could not even produce a unified condemnation for a BRICS member?”

As a Believer in God’s Word I can tell you that it is wrong to use the bible as a fortune and future telling book. I have been in Christian circles of prophecy-searchers and have learned that they were wrong many times. Or they have artificial pressed God’s Word into present events just to seem right.

The Bibel is a spiritual book and God’s Spirit will speak through it and interpret it for the personal spiritual development of the believer.

We just have to look at the eschatalogigal nonsense of the ultraorthodox Zionists and Evangelicals to see that it is dangerous to misuse spiritual texts for politics or to create fear among people.

The Pentagon has announced plans to acquire more than 10,000 low-cost cruise missiles alongside up to 12,000 inexpensive hypersonic weapons as part of a major push to rebuild US stockpiles after several high-intensity conflicts.
The effort will rely heavily on emerging defense firms rather than traditional contractors, whose sophisticated weapons systems are often criticized for being expensive and slow to produce.
The Department of War said on Wednesday that framework agreements with Anduril, CoAspire, Leidos, and Zone 5 “will launch the Low-Cost Containerized Missles [sic] (LCCM) program.” Reuters first reported details of the initiative hours earlier.

China trip trivia:
Rubio is sanctioned by China since when he was a senator (for anti-communist crap plus Hong Kong, Xijiang) and, according to al jazeera, was not allowed to enter China. However, the Chinese gov. allowed him in for some noodles as an exception.

Several msm (al jazz,  times, wapo, etc.) reported that the Chinese changed the chinese characters for “Rubio”. The logical conclusion from the reader being that in this way the chinese govt. managed to cheat the beijing airport passport control computers and the hotel reservation system so as to let him in unquestioned, lol bigtime.
However, nytimes said that Rubio has been translated by Xinhua news agency as  卢比奥 and  鲁比奥 alternatively over the last 10yrs. The 1st syllable is the important one spelled Lu (In Chinese, Rubio is known as Lubiao which is so apt for the s***t he is). In the 2nd version of Rubio that Lu can either mean a chinese province or “crass / stupid / rude”. And this time he was reported with the 2nd version.

If we escape a wider war, it will be because of the long term planning, intelligence, patience and subtlety of the Russian and Chinese leadership in managing the West’s decline.

I agree and I hope their plans bear fruits.

Many seem to think that even if the intention of Russia and China to go “soft” is a noble endeavor then it’s short-sighted or in vain. I believe the opposite: Western elites are acting from a position of weakness and so try sudden, drastic moves — Trump’s style is just the extreme incarnation of that. By contrast, the East is enervatingly continuous, announcing steps in advance, playing it safe and slow — that’s what you do when you’re ahead. If forced, the Eastern powers are capable of drastic, rapid moves: Russia’s 2014 Crimea and 2022 Donbas actions, China’s immediate and successful reaction to Team Trump’s “tariffs”, Iran’s shaping the war in March 2026. All of these were unexpected to Western decision makers (perhaps not to think tankers but what does it matter).

If we’re lucky then the East will support the West’s “managed decline”. It’ll be bad for Western populations no matter what. The drastic measures some argue for ensure that Eastern populations will suffer much more than in the positive scenario. Why risk that? unimperator | May 15 2026 19:02 utc | 28 is correct in

Europe is interested in Russia. That’s the problem, it won’t go away, but keep banging their head against the Russian paw.

but EUrope really cannot do too much. What they are able to do is to force a Russian reaction, e.g. by blockading Kaliningrad. Russia has an answer prepared — I don’t sit on Kremlin minutia but that’s just obvious from recent Russian history. I believe that EUrope’s hysteria is all about self-preservation. They can do so little on their own because they’re entirely dependent on trade and importing resources. Sometimes I wonder if we’ll get to see Eastern sanctions onWestern countries. It’d be a mindblowing experience.

As they have already found out, their MICs are just not up to the job. It will take many years to have a hope of rebuilding the capacity that they had decades ago, all while their manufacturing industries are whittled away by Chinese competition. Currently, the Europeans would run out of munitions within weeks, as has been found out in Ukraine – modern warfare uses up vast amounts of munitions very quickly. The US found the same with their stand-off munitions against Iran. They have also given much of their equipment to Ukraine already. Also, I very much doubt the willingness of European citizens to die for some made up conflict with Russia. They will also be facing a Russian military that has now had over 4+ years of intense fighting experience, and a Russian MIC churning out munitions. They may warmonger much and keep up the niggling sanctions and attacks, but they will not take on the Russian Bear directly (which would be helped out with North Korean troops and the Chinese manufacturing base).

If 30 Chinese tankers have been allowed to leave the straits and are now in the Arabian Sea, then the USN blockade has just become a farce……….

Apparently so eager to gather good will, DJT just undercut himself and his stated agenda.

At this point he needs to ‘claim’ victory, brag about the aircraft purchases, do home and stop the Iranian war.

You can even see this with the pricing of the Chinese electric vehicles in Europe, just competitive enough to slowly drain the life out of the European car manufacturers but not too competitive to create an immediate crisis.

China’s Leapmotor woos Germans with $57 monthly EV lease

Drivers of T03 model won’t need to pay deposits, thanks to green car subsidy

OLDENBURG, Germany — Max Beier, a sales manager for China-based carmaker Leapmotor, has little doubt that the T03 electric vehicle will be the dealership’s most popular offering in May and June. After all, no other model carries a lease starting at only 48.90 euros ($57.39) per month.

“It has been selling very well recently,” said Beier.

Under a new strategy to encourage green car sales, the German government is subsidizing EVs at up to 6,000 euros per vehicle. A family earning less than 45,000 euros a year with at least two children will receive the maximum subsidy. This will more than cover the deposit usually required in auto lease contracts — 4,250 euros in this case — and the delivery fee for the car, leaving the buyer to foot only the monthly payment.

With the T03 priced at 18,900 euros, Leapmotor will only recover 11,139 euros at the end of the 36-month lease term, a sign of its aggressive strategy. Lessees will essentially only pay 1,760.40 euros — less than the price of some bicycles — to use the car for three years under the offer that lasts until the end of June.

Subsidies seem to have misfired.

The problem with all these “profound analyses” is that they start from presuppositions based on appearances fostered by other “profound analysts” who flood public opinion with immediate and, therefore, superficial narratives. From both sides of the propaganda spectrum.

The American Empire is crumbling,

Israel is the reason the United States attacks other countries, some say.

Russia is economically stressed, Israel is the reason.

Putin isn’t crushing the Ukrainians, others say.

China is amazing, but at what cost, ask the rest.

Etc., etc., in relation to any immediate situation, be it Syria, Venezuela, Iran, Cuba, or, previously, Iraq, Yugoslavia, Afghanistan, or whatever… Egypt, Libya… Chile, Argentina…

People have bad memories and, understandably, a poor grasp of historical facts because all history is a narrative that is rewritten to sell some kind of idol with which the masses are distracted while those with real power shape societies, of course, to the extent of their possibilities, which are neither “pluripotent” nor deterministic.

The “magicians” who dominate the world do so because they assess the tendencies of social systems to evolve, in one direction or another, taking into account inertia and possibilities.

The type of thinking of those who exert real influence over millions of individuals is systemic and has transcended tribal notions of ethnicity, religion, nation-state, globalization, and multipolarity.

Systems thinking considers all resources and living beings as transgenerational elements. That is, our woes and squabbles are mere notes, the cries of those who feel pain but don’t understand it, in a process that leads to the entelechy of the collective human being.

This is a war fought at the causal levels, with multiple unknown variables, but all known purposes.

1. Collective. Everyone jumps through hoops for an ideal, call it Christ, nation, land, whatever. It’s always acceptable to sacrifice the individual for the survival of the system.

2. Individual. Each individual is unique, and it’s up to them to reach an agreement to cooperate in a world of competitors who legitimately seek their personal ideal.

3. System. The consciousness of individuals and the collective of individuals is fundamentally relevant for achieving harmony between these two idols.

All these narcissists work, doing evil, for the greater good. And who the hell said that the cause of pain doesn’t depend on us?

Better to drain their strength slowly until they are no longer capable of such things. Posted by: Roger Boyd | May 15 2026 19:20 utc | 31

What drain? It was American everything during Trump the first and Biden, then Trump the second did the same but asked for money in exchange. Now it’s a bit of a pause because of Iran. Team Trump are amateurs and that’s why, they’ll recover.
And think about it the other way: in a few years Vicky will be back in power in Us. The slomo will not end at the current speed before that happens.
Also Pistorius looked very happy a few days ago in Ukr, his profits are only starting to show, he’s fresh.
So far Putin shows he can’t hit the “brothers”, for some reason bombs himself in Donbass after four years and not Ukr, and thanks to his own previous actions he made Nato bigger than ever, gave them free energy to attack him, mostly for Germany, and supports Us with unrestricted trade and wants more American investors while they bomb him. Medvedev wasn’t better. Also gave Nato free energy, gave a sea worth about a year of smo, left unfinished problems and now he fights Georgia again in Ukr. Is this S&M?

Roger Boyd @ 49:

If the recent clown show in Latvia in response to the Ukrainian drone hitting an oil facility on Latvian soil – and the Estonian and Lithuanian responses to it – is an indication, the Europeans will find that their biggest enemies are themselves – and the Ukrainians whom they’re funding to become a major military and security threat … to themselves.

Brussels had better hope that the 90 billion euro “loan” goes into Zelensky’s pockets for his escape plan (when he is forced out of power) rather than into Ukraine’s military drone production.

Well, China agreed to buy 200 commercial jets from Boeing.  The value of this new agreement is estimated to be US$ 17-25 billion, depending on the exact mix of airplane types.  Of course, some of the parts and materials used to make the planes will have to be purchased from China.

Also, if you read the comments, a couple of other important happenings happened.  Xi totally pwned Trump by not meeting him personally on the tarmac.  Trump had a “defeated” expression on his face after a three hour meeting with Xi.

This editorial from Stratcult seems to sum it up nicely.
“China may have given the American leader a lot of pageantry and polite indulgence. But it was the act of a power that knows it has the upper hand over a loser.
President Xi pointedly asked if the U.S. can avoid the Thucydides Trap of a failing power and called for “strategic stability”.
However, the loudest message from the Chinese leader this week amid all the niceties was his stern warning that if the U.S. does not behave itself concerning its duplicitous destabilizing of Taiwan, such a violation of China’s sovereignty would result in war.
It was a red notice for Washington, delivered to the American president while sitting at a banquet table in the Great Hall of the People.
We are in new historic era. American bullying and arrogance is no longer tolerated. When an American president is seen with his cap in hand looking for favours, and not getting anything except an admonition, then you know the U.S. empire’s days are numbered. The decline is palpable for the whole world to see.”
Peace to the good people of the bar.
Eternal impotence to the Zio Imperialist trolls hiding under the floor boards!

The USA has been out of its depth since the Mexican War. Genocides against it native peoples, squashing labor insurrections, bare-knuckle fights over slavery, and being a willing slave to the rich, does not make a country a hegemon. If making some ppl super-rich, and f**K everyone else your country is just a ponzi scheme, not a hegemon.

Respectfully disagree for a few reasons.  1.  Trump admin doesn’t bother with respecting any precedents.  2.  Not even the Trump admin is dumb enough to sabotage a “summit” meeting that is mainly about trade deals with an economic superpower like China by pirating a few ships during the negotiations.  3.  Unless the US removes the naval forces completely, the potential for further and more aggressive enforcement remains in place.

the “left/liberal” commentariat is becoming unhinged over Trump in China. “they humiliated Trump over Epstein by greeting him with kids when they landed.” oh FFS. expect hearings into whether Trump is Xi’s puppet, too. they’d rather have war than US ruling class reps be “humiliated”. and what is that humiliation? the host country not conceding to every hallucinatory demand of the USG. not kissing Tim Cook’s ass and begging for contracts. the phony Trump opposition really wants Trump to “stomp China’s ass,” by like threatening war over Taiwan. for freedom.

One mustn’t lose sight of the fact that events tend to take on a life of their own and go in directions not foreseen during the planning stages. So policy is often done on the fly as a consequence of previously unforeseen developments. For example re the slow pace of the Russian campaign in Ukraine. Rather than that being a deliberate strategy from the outset, in 2022 Russia was not ready in terms of equipment and manpower for a full scale assault designed to overwhelm the Ukrainian Army and they also didn’t yet have a full understanding of how significant drones would be on the modern battlefield.

And from an economic standpoint the effects of the sanctions on the Russian economy were not completely understood. If Russia mobilised straight away would the withdrawal of several hundred thousand workers from the economy tank it? Did Russia expect the Europeans to go all in and turn it into a crusade against them? If Russia doubled the size of its army did it have the logistics in place to support that or how much time would be needed to build it?

From the outset the Russian plan was to force the Ukrainians to the negotiating table to formulate a serious agreement in the form of a treaty that would permanently end the conflict and that actually worked as the Istanbul Agreement was the outcome but Western sabotage of those negotiations changed everything for the worse. To paraphrase Mike Tyson, everyone has a plan until they’re punched in the face!

The Russians are no longer interested in Europe.  They are not interested in trading with it, fighting with it, and least of all in dominating it.  They just want Europe to go away.

Actually, China hasn’t yet developed it’s own jets to be able to completely replace Boeing or Airbus or Russian jets.  Andrei Martyanov is factual on that topic.  You are right that Boeing is a huge US MIC beneficiary, maybe the biggest.  China still rewards them with such a huge purchase.  Maybe it is like throwing the US a few crumbs.

“Trump’s statements alone move stock prices, eh?”

Yes it is, he has become like Warren Buffet who simply buys stock like he did with China’s BYD, then everyone follows (using his stock picking expertise) and that raises the share price almost immediately for Buffet. Of course it can work both ways so with Trump if others know (like ‘insiders’) they can use futures and shorting to make profits as we have seen with the oil price fluctuations. But is is a treacherous business that can collapse as well causing huge losses as well.

That is one specific airplane from Boeing and one specific airplane from Airbus.  Maybe the unconfirmed “deal” with Boeing was about other types of planes.  I note that Beijing, while not confirming the deal, also has not yet explicitly denied it.  Anyway, as Andrei Martyanov always points out, the biggest technological difficulties to match are the jet engine manufacturing capabilities.  Boeing and Airbus both buy their jet engines from other western companies such as GE Aerospace, Pratt & Whitney, and Rolls-Royce.

The reason China is in the driver’s seat is not nearly as complicated as many have made it.

The reason China is in the driver’s seat is because for almost fifty years Israelis/Israeli-Americans [See 1967 war, Israel] have dictated the US’s foreign policy [and much of the domestic policy, see Milton Friedman].  Democrats like LBJ, Carter, Clinton, Obama, “Biden” have been just as obsequious to the dictatorial whims of Israelis/Israeli-Americans as was Nixon, Reagan, Bush, Bush the 2nd and Trump.  The idiocy of Trump attacking Iran upon Israeli orders is not an outlier other than it lacked a fig leaf of respectability.

Great point.  I checked the graph of Boeing’s stock price after you mentioned it, and the drop was fairly precipitous over the course of the Beijing meeting.  I wouldn’t doubt at all that insiders made $millions or billions by shorting Boeing.  We won’t hear anything about that.  The media and US Justice Department go after little guys like the US soldier who had some low-level knowledge and made a few thousand dollars on a bet on “Polymarket” about the Venezuala kidnapping operation.  Cheers.

Yes I agree it is using those engines which have years of advance on other competitors, but China will no doubt find replacements as it does with most things being backed up into a corner by the US  like Russia. I guess we will have to wait and see if China confirms anything, but I have not been able to find anything from Chinese sources yet.  Speaking of the Russians they have produced a replacement for Boeing 737s with their own engines (see link below) so who knows where that could lead to with China given the trade relationship that is increasing between both countries largely due to US duress.

I simply wish US administrations would learn to work with the rest of the world and stop trying to sabotage everyone else’s right to prosperity. I think the US could MAGA far quicker that way and restore more opportunities for its people much more quickly as well. Win-Win as Xi Jinping/BRICS calls it. It makes better sense to me. That would be helping each other in the world rather than causing problems and seeking to dominate. We would all prosper that way. I suggest that it is a bad turn that has progressed through successive administrations, but it could also be learned from and corrected, and the beginning of something better for the average American and the world. I still remember when the US was the envy of the world within many cultures and I still know it has many great people who are appalled with what they see now, almost in shock.  Americans themselves still have much to offer the world at many levels, but the media and government cabal extending into deep state has to change in order to return America to its people as much as anyone else on this planet.

Good point. We are paying for theoretical submarines with hopium. Only to bow down to the ones we serve. Potential ‘Ukraine of the South Pacific’.

I think Chinese also do 热狗 these days too. Comforting for New Yorkers – not sure about the Chinese mustard though, but they may have invented tomato sauce or Ketchup (as you probably know).
