War On Iran: – Trump Threatens Genocide – More Tit-for-tat Bombing

As the world was waiting for President Donald Trump to TACO from his threat to destroy Iran he upped his madman strategy by threatening to genocide its people:

A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again. I don’t want that to happen, but it probably will. However, now that we have Complete and Total Regime Change, where different, smarter, and less radicalized minds prevail, maybe something revolutionarily wonderful can happen, WHO KNOWS? We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death, will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!
(TS: 07 Apr 08:06 ET)‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍‌‍

I find it no longer useful to attempt any interpretation of such threats. They are likely a reaction to the failed Isfahan operation.

After that above threat was posted Iran froze all diplomatic and indirect communication channels with the U.S.

Meanwhile the war continues at heightened intensity.

Yesterday Israel again attacked Iran’s largest industrial oil and gas installation in the South Pars field.

Retribution came fast. Israeli installations at Neot Hovav in the Negev desert were attacked. Saudi Arabia’s Al Jubail industrial area is on fire as are at least three major oil/gas sites in the Emirates.

This morning the U.S. (again) struck some 50 targets on Kharg Island in what I consider a preparation for an imminent invasion likely to follow this night.

Israel hit ten Iranian railway stations around Tehran to isolate the city.

The “Jewish State” also struck the Rafie Nia synagogue in Tehran. It seems to have been an intentional target.

Iran has published a quite sensible 10-point plan to end the war:

Iran’s 10-point plan includes:
1. Guarantee that Iran will not be attacked again
2. Permanent end to the war, not just a ceasefire
3. End to Israeli strikes in Lebanon
4. Lifting of all US sanctions on Iran
5. End to all regional fighting against Iranian allies
6. In return, Iran would open the Strait of Hormuz
7. Iran would impose a Hormuz fee of $2 million per ship
8. Iran would split these fees with Oman
9. Iran to provide rules for safe passage through Hormuz
10. Iran to use Hormuz fees for reconstruction instead of reparations

Iran had previously asked for full U.S. reparation payments for the damage the war has caused. To instead insist on using Hormuz passage funds is a sensible retreat from a hardline position.

With Iranian consent more ships are quietly passing through the Strait of Hormuz.

Whatever might happen Iran wont give up on not closing but controlling Hormuz for very good reasons.

The U.S. deploys additional HIMARS artillery to the Middle East.

Ok, I’ve just seen the 10 point agreement.
If they are real, it is definitely not Iran who caved so I retract that statement.
I’m not sure how enforceable some of those 10 points are.

Trump says yes. Now all we need is for Iran and Israel to state their position.
It’s surely not a deal until all three parties to the conflict agree.

Posted by: Dave G | Apr 7 2026 23:18 utc | 507

On the bright side, this gives Iran a window to repair, manufacture and ship in weapons.

One wonders if that fact has hit the US planners yet?

China’s and Iran’s manufacturing cycles are faster than the US, meaning they’ll rearm and restock faster than the US might hope to in that period.

And since Iran’s strategy is one of long war, this would fit right in.

Perhaps also give them time to reconsider their stance on nuclear weapons?

I don’t know that they caved. Trump was the one most looking for a ceasefire. He was begging for an off-ramp, and Pakistan threw him a lifeline. Iran can be magnanimous in victory. I doubt the US will attack again; the ceasefire will become permanent. Trump has already declared victory a hundred times over, he would look foolish to restart hostilities. His poll numbers are tanking at home and midterms are coming.

As for Iran, the regime survived mostly intact, they demonstrated a stronger military capability then expected, seriously degrading US military bases in the process, they took control of the Strait of Hormuz, and they have kept their nuclear program, including the option to proliferate weapons. Iran will rebuild, and the Gulf states will be looking over their shoulders, knowing the US is an unreliable ally. I’d call that a win.

Posted by: James M. | Apr 7 2026 23:21 utc | 515

I highly doubt US agreed to those 10 points that Iran mentioned there. There is no way US will abandon the Gulf vassals in the region which are used to project power. That is certain. At best, Iran might be able to secure a few of those points, but not all. And this is based on their side, fairly certain that US will their list as well.
So we might be in a situation where there is a ceasefire for 2 weeks and continuation of war. So the question is, who benefits from the ceasefire? I don’t believe its Iran, to be honest.

OK I know there is and probably will NEVER be any proof of what  I say now but my reading of the tea leaves is:

  1. Trump’s rhetoric was only pretend madness  BUT
  2. behind the madness was a genuine idea of nuking Iran and attacking its historic sites
  3. Trump is the sort of person that actually hates and resents history so he would sort of like to destroy Persian history
  4. Israel is  in a funk
  5. Vance went to Hungary and talked with Putin with Orban as intermediary
  6. Putin advised Vance that Russia has ALREADY delivered nukes with long range missile to Iran
  7. Iran DID NOT have nukes before this war started but has them now, courtesy of Russia, China AND Pakistan
  8. Long range meaning able to reach the USA
  9. Specific US targets were identified to Vance
  10. The US military assesses the risk
  11. Hegseth is locked in a box (OK perhaps not)
  12. Trump backs off

[Full statement]

“Statement issued by the General Secretariat of the Iranian Supreme National Security Council

The proud Iranian people must know that thanks to the sacrifices of their sons and their historic presence in the field, the enemy has been begging for more than a month to stop Iran’s fire and the raging resistance. However, the country’s officials – based on a firm decision taken from the beginning to continue the war until it achieves its goals, including forcing the enemy to regret and surrender and removing long-term threats – rejected all of these requests, so the war continued until its fortieth day. Iran has also repeatedly rejected the time limits proposed by the US President, stressing that it does not give weight to any threat or deadline issued by the enemy.

We give good news to the great Iranian people that almost all of the goals of the war have been achieved, and that your brave sons have led the enemy towards historic helplessness and terrible defeat. Iran’s historic decision, supported by the comprehensive unity of the people, is to continue this battle no matter how much time it takes, until the great gains are consolidated and new security and political equations are created in the region based on recognition of Iran’s power and sovereignty and the sovereignty of the resistance.

In this context, and in accordance with the measures of His Eminence the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Sayyed Mojtaba Khamenei (may God protect him), and the approval of the Supreme National Security Council, and in view of the superiority of Iran and the resistance on the battlefield, the inability of the enemy to implement its threats despite its claims, and its official submission to all the just demands of the Iranian people; It was decided to hold negotiations in Islamabad to finalize the details, so that within a maximum period of 15 days, Iran’s field victory on the political track as well would be confirmed.

Accordingly, Iran rejected all plans proposed by the enemy, and formulated a 10-item plan that was delivered to the American side through the Pakistani mediator, in which it emphasized basic pillars that include: organized and controlled crossing of the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with the Iranian armed forces (which gives Iran a unique economic and geopolitical position), the necessity of ending the war against all parties of the axis of resistance (which means a historic defeat for the child-killing aggression of the Zionist entity), and the withdrawal of American combat forces from all bases and points of concentration in The region, establishing a safe transit protocol in the Strait of Hormuz that guarantees Iran’s hegemony in accordance with the concluded agreement, full compensation for Iran’s losses according to estimates, lifting all primary and secondary sanctions and decisions of the Council of Governors and the Security Council, releasing all frozen Iranian funds and assets, and finally adopting these provisions in a binding resolution issued by the UN Security Council, which turns these agreements into binding international law and represents a historic diplomatic victory.

The Prime Minister of Pakistan stated that the American side, despite its apparent threats, has accepted these principles as a basis for negotiation and has yielded to the will of the Iranian people. Accordingly, it was decided at the highest levels that Iran would engage in negotiations for two weeks in Islamabad on the basis of these principles alone. We stress that this does not mean the end of the war, but rather that Iran will not accept the end of military operations except after the details in the negotiations are finalized based on the principles of the “ten-year plan.”

These negotiations will begin with an absolute lack of confidence in the American side, starting on Friday, Farvardin 21 (April 10) in Islamabad, and Iran will allocate two weeks to this path, which can be extended by agreement of both parties. During this period, it is necessary to maintain complete national unity and continue vigorous victory celebrations. These negotiations are a national battle and an extension of the field, and all political elites and groups must trust this path, which is supervised by the leader and the highest authorities of the regime, and avoid any statements that provoke division. If the enemy’s surrender in the field turns into a decisive political achievement in the negotiations, we will all celebrate this historic victory. Otherwise, we will fight side by side in the field until all demands are met. Our hands are on the trigger, and any mistake made by the enemy will face a crushing and severe response.
General Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council

The United States of America did not announce acceptance of Iran’s conditions 10, but Trump said that they were negotiable.

What was announced by the Iranian National Security Council (10-point proposal) will be negotiated within the next two weeks.

What was reached tonight is neither an acceptance of Iran’s proposal nor a rejection of Iran’s proposal, but rather a temporary truce lasting two weeks during which negotiations are held on the Iranian proposal and in return Iran opens the Strait of Hormuz for two weeks.”

Oh, the US will abandon them, there’s little doubt about that. There are no treaty mechanisms between the Gulf states and the US, no shared culture or heritage, no real incentive to keep the US there. And the US didn’t project any power in the Persian Gulf. Quite the opposite in fact, they looked quite impotent.

I’ve asked Mr. Purkayastha repeatedly how Iran could’ve acquired a nuke in the first place without being Osirek’d in the developmental stages. After all, the Zionazis regularly assassinate Iranian scientists participating in even NNPT-compliant nuclear projects.

He repeatedly refuses to respond.

Take heart in the facts that the agreement doesn’t bind the Zionazi entity at all, and the USA might not honor it for long, if at all. Then we’re back to square one.

Deepseek answers:
Based on current intelligence, Iran is assessed to be in a “breakout” window of roughly one to two weeks if it made an immediate, all-out political decision to build a bomb.

Here is the breakdown of why that timeline is so short:

· The Material is Ready: Iran has approximately 400-450 kg of uranium enriched to 60% purity . This is just a short technical step from weapons-grade (90%), providing enough material for 9 to 11 nuclear devices .
· The Knowledge Remains: Experts are clear that while military strikes in 2025 damaged physical infrastructure, they cannot “bomb out” the scientific expertise Iran has already accumulated .
· The Wildcard: The new Supreme Leader has not publicly reaffirmed the religious ban (fatwa) on nuclear weapons. Hardliners argue that the regime needs the bomb for survival after recent attacks .

Note: There is a crucial distinction between building a crude device (days/weeks) and weaponizing it for a missile (longer). Additionally, US intelligence confirms Iran is not currently actively rebuilding to produce new material, but they possess a massive pre-existing stockpile .

My view exactly. I suspect Trump wants things to cool down until after the midterms. But I would not be surprised if he (and Netanyahoo) couldn’t hold back that long. In which case they’ll probably use their nukes. In short: The world is not out of the coulds yet.

Seems like Iran has leverage now.
How will they use it?
Iran should demand that Trump fire Pete Hegseth.
As a condition to start negotiations.
To test Trump’s seriousness.
And, after all the assassinations of Iranians, I think it would be quite a reasonable “tit” —a figurative assassination (cf. “tat”).
Iran might also insist that AIPAC has to be registered as a foreign entity under FARA before they will begin negotiations. Same reasons. USA wants to control Iranian govt. and foreign policy.
Iran can do the same.

That was Prof. Postol quote, and it can even be faster than 1 week, the speed depends on how many enrichment cascades you are running.

The point is, Iran could have made nukes easily at anytime during the last 4 decades, and even if they started the process during this war (as USrael killed the only person stopping Iran from nukes, what a miscalculation that was..), Iran might already have an undeclared stockpile.

Funny thing is people just plain refuse to do a simple net search.

“How quickly could Iran make an atomic bomb once it has acquired enough weapons-grade uranium? Some nuclear experts argue it would take Iran anywhere between several months to up to a year. But China’s experience shows that Tehran could build a bomb much faster—in as little as three to five weeks.[1]”

Remember the order of events. Trump threatened to blow up bridges and power plants on Tuesday if Iran didn’t open the strait immediately. Trump threatened to end Iranian civilization if his 8pm deadline wasn’t met. Then, today, Tuesday, bridges and power plants all over Iran were blown up.  Then, an hour before the deadline, Iran opens the strait.
There was “chickening out”  involved here, but it wasn’t by Trump.

Most peoples of the world don’t associate citizens of a country with their government. This seems to be a peculiarly Western flaw of character, perhaps because of their facile devotion to “democracy”.

Does Donald Trump suffer from frontotemporal dementia and is that the reason for the way he behaves?

In the recommended Iran-war-ticker of the Austrian blog TKP I saw at the very end of https://tkp.at/2026/04/07/39-tag-im-angriffskrieg-israels-und-der-usa-gegen-den-iran-ticker-2115-uhr the sentence „Der Psychologe Dr. John Gartner warnt, dass Präsident Trump „nicht mehr derselbe Mann ist wie vor vier Wochen“ und seit 2019 „Anzeichen einer frontotemporalen Demenz zeigt““ (Psychologist Dr John Gartner warns that President Trump is ‘no longer the same man he was four weeks ago’ and has been ‘showing signs of frontotemporal dementia’ since 2019.)

Most forms of dementia like Alzheimer’s have memory loss as one of the main symptoms. Frontotemporal dementia does not damage the memory, but the way those affected behave, their personality and their language skills. For me this seems to be a plausible explanation for the decay of Donald Trump and the way he behaves.

If that really is the cause for Donald Trump’s inappropriate behaviour, then it is obvious that he is not fit for office anymore and has to step down or to be removed as US American president as soon as possible.

Here is a translation of the script I used for teaching trainees as care assistants in work-related language:

Frontotemporal dementia is a form of dementia that primarily affects the frontal and temporal lobes of the brain. This condition usually occurs between the ages of 50 and 60, but can also affect younger people. Unlike Alzheimer’s disease, the primary focus here is not on memory loss, but rather on changes in behaviour, personality and language.

Causes
The exact causes of frontotemporal dementia are not yet fully understood. It is believed that genetic factors play a significant role. Around 30–40% of those affected have a family history of the condition. Genetic changes lead to the breakdown of nerve cells in the affected regions of the brain. Protein deposits also often contribute to cell death.

Symptoms
Symptoms can vary greatly depending on which areas of the brain are affected. Here are the most common symptoms that carers should be aware of:

  1. Behavioural changes:

Those affected often display changes in social behaviour. This can manifest as inappropriate comments, a loss of empathy, irritability or a lack of interest in social norms. Some individuals lose their emotional bond with family members or develop unusual eating habits, such as constantly eating sweets, craving unusual food combinations or overeating at inappropriate times.

  1. Language disorders:

Frontotemporal dementia can cause language problems known as primary progressive aphasia. Those affected find it difficult to find the right words or use simple but often incorrect sentence structures. Some lose the ability to express themselves clearly.

  1. Impaired decision-making:

As the frontal lobe is responsible for planning and decision-making, those affected may have difficulty making decisions. They often appear disorganised or impulsive.

Support options for carers
Caring for people with frontotemporal dementia requires patience and empathy. Here are some tips that may be helpful: Caring for people with FTD can be challenging, as the behaviour of those affected can change unpredictably and drastically. Here are some approaches that may be helpful:

  1. Stay calm and understanding:

Behavioural changes are part of the condition. It is important to be patient and not to let yourself be hurt or provoked by inappropriate reactions or statements. Stay calm and try not to argue or correct the person affected.

  1. Structured daily routine:

A fixed daily routine provides security and helps minimise anxiety. Clear routines and familiar procedures make it easier for those affected to cope with everyday life.

  1. Clear and simple communication:

Use simple and clear words. Short sentences help them understand the message better. If those affected have difficulty with language, non-verbal aids, such as gestures or picture cards, can be a good alternative.

  1. Incorporating familiar activities:

Activities that used to bring joy to those affected can help to evoke positive memories and feelings. These might include craft activities, gardening or listening to music.

Treatment options
To date, there is no cure for frontotemporal dementia, but there are various approaches to improving the quality of life for those affected. Treatment focuses primarily on alleviating symptoms and improving the quality of life of those affected. The following measures may be helpful:

  1. Medication:

Medication can help alleviate certain symptoms. However, there are no specific medications that can slow down or halt the progression of the disease.

  1. Therapies:

Speech therapy can provide support for language difficulties and help maintain communication skills. Occupational therapy can also be beneficial for strengthening everyday skills and preserving the independence of those affected for as long as possible.

  1. Other non-medicinal approaches:

Tailored care that addresses the needs of those affected is crucial. This includes a clear daily routine, enjoyable activities, and the involvement of relatives in the care process.

Important tips for carers
Empathy rather than logic: Due to their condition, those affected often do not act rationally. Try to understand their world rather than correcting them.
Pay attention to physical cues: As language skills may decline, it is important to also pay attention to physical cues such as facial expressions or body language.

Conclusion
Frontotemporal dementia is a complex condition that requires a great deal of empathy and patience. A good understanding of the symptoms and the use of appropriate care techniques can help to make life more pleasant for both those affected and their carers. Carers should always be mindful of their own limits and seek support from professionals when needed.

2 weeks pause is still within the 60 days from start of conflict (after that Trump is somehow supposed to get further green light from Congress).

A pause means the US has a logistics problem (ammo or airframes) or a dragging-feet problem of some of the military.

How can an honorable person go home to his/her family after bombing hospitals, schools, universities? Just a slave of the mortgage system, while others can print pedodollars at will?

The dark part of me: “Iran, I just filled up my car yesterday. You could have pussed-out once I got closer o “E”.”

The light part of me: “Oh, thank God Iran’s people, infrastructure, and heritage sites (the few remaining) are safe and no more blood will be spilt.”

The realistic part of me: “The west will drag its feet on any concrete agreements, rearm, gather data on Iranian leadership meetings for future Ops, press weapons into Iranian territory through the Kurds for the start of an insurgency when allied-bombing begins again. The Strait might be closed again but the market is now conditioned to think this Iranian period of suffering is just another Tuesday in our Nothing Ever Happens world. The people will yawn as boots go on the ground. “Iran is soooo boring,” they will say.

The scared little guy inside my head: (Because I have no access to anything other than misdirecting state propaganda and the western talking-head speculation on that thereof, I can make no sound declarations on who came out on top here and furthermore have no access to future events so can not guarantee prognostication.)

(What I do know: TPTB will never announce their failure or their defeat, either. We will have to parse this out for ourselves. But our Angry Drunken Father will be hopping-mad when he returns from his humiliating work day to take it out on his loving family when the time comes. So prepare accordingly. Iran will not save us. But She could allow us to be placed into a situation where we are finally able to confront, soberly, the western disease (i.e. it may reveal itself to us in ways that galvanize the people into a response).
