Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

War On Iran: – Failed Special Operation – Threat Escalation – Trump’s Victory Timeline

The U.S. government claims that it had launched a large rescue mission near Isfahan, Iran, to retrieve the weapon officer of an F-15 airplane which was downed while it was bombing that country.

When I read the first version of that story I replied:

Moon of Alabama @MoonofA – 14:28 UTC · Apr 5, 2026

Bridges on sale …

Jennifer Griffin @JenGriffinFNC · Apr 5
According to a senior administration official:
Prior to locating the WSO (Weapons System Officer) and the US military’s daring rescue, the CIA first launched a deception campaign spreading word inside Iran that U.S. forces had already found him and were moving him on the ground …

The U.S. may have found and retrieved the F-15 officer. But that will have been tens of miles from the place near Isfahan where it lost two HC-130 transport planes and four MH-6 special force helicopters. That special force operation was most likely an attempt to steal enriched Uranian known to be hidden under a mountain somewhere around Isfahan. Such an  operation was pre-viewed on April 1 by the Washington Post:

Risky commando plan to seize Iran’s uranium came at Trump’s request (archived)

It seems that the attempt ran into an ambush like situation and had to evacuate.

For details see how Will Schryver and Armchair Warlord are connecting the dots. Iranian analysts agree with their take.

In other news Trump is using foul language to threaten Iran with further war crimes. Iran promises adequate retaliation. The markets react to discipline U.S. action. Another TACO is likely to happen.

Added for later reference: Trump’s “victory” claims:

Mar 3: “We won the war.”
Mar 7: “We defeated Iran.”
Mar 9: “We must attack Iran.”
Mar 9: “The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully.”
Mar 11: “You never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over.”
Mar 12: “We did win, but we haven’t won completely yet.”
Mar 13: “We won the war.”
Mar 14: “Please help us.”
Mar 15: “If you don’t help us, I will certainly remember it.”
Mar 16: “Actually, we don’t need any help at all.”
Mar 16: “I was just testing to see who’s listening to me.”
Mar 16: “If NATO doesn’t help, they will suffer something very bad.”
Mar 17: “We neither need nor want NATO’s help.”
Mar 17: “I don’t need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO.”
Mar 18: “Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz.”
Mar 19: “US allies need to get a grip – step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz.”
Mar 20: “NATO are cowards.”
Mar 21: “The Strait of Hormuz must be protected by the countries that use it. We don’t use it, we don’t need to open it.”
Mar 22: “This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours. Open the strait”
Mar 22: “Iran is Dead”
Mar 23: “We had very good and productive talks with Iran.”
Mar 24: “We’re making progress.”
Mar 25: “They gave us a present and the present arrived today. And it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.”
Mar 26: “Make a deal, or we’ll just keep blowing them away.”
Mar 27: “We don’t have to be there for NATO.”
Mar 28: No major quote
Mar 29: Claimed talks were progressing
Mar 30: “Open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, or face devastating consequences.”
Mar 31: Claimed a deal was “very close” and that Iran would “do the right thing”
Apr 1: “We’ll see what happens very soon.”
Apr 2: Repeated that a deal was likely, while warning of continued strikes if not
Apr 3: “Something big is going to happen.”
Apr 4: Said Iran must comply “immediately” or face further consequences.
Apr 5: “Open the fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”

I wonder if Iran has considered hitting the “green zone’ in Baghdad?  Since US/Israel has no qualms about hitting schools, hospitals, churches, etc, this would be symbolic retribution. Maybe in conjunction with the Iraqi resistance?

Is it just me or does anyone else NOT believe there are not any real negotiations going on, as the USA is not acting like they want a ceasefire of any type.

No like most things it’s going to get worse before getting tolerable – can’t use the word better because it appears the only goal in the exercise is the complete destruction of the entire Middle East, along with the West.

I understood you perfectly.

My response extended to all nuclear enthusiasts who are ready to seize upon even a ridiculous statement from Trump as a pretext to justify Iran’s need to possess and use nuclear weapons.

Despite threats, betrayals, and bombings, Iran stands up to the regional military power, Israel, and the world’s leading military power, the USA, two nuclear-armed nations.
And it’s giving them a good thrashing without nuclear weapons.

It has cleared 14 American bases in 7 countries and is on track to drive the world’s leading power out of its West Asian neighborhood without nuclear weapons.
It can render Israel uninhabitable without nuclear weapons.

So frankly, this obsession and harassment regarding “nukes” has other motivations besides concern for Iran.

The fact that he has any significant role in government at all is an indication that Putin is not as ruthless in dealing with opposition as the western media would like us to believe.

How will Iran respond to this huge escalation?  Destroying all Gulf oil and ng infrastructure?  Leveling Tel Aviv? Who knows!

This is wrong. There have been wars between Soviet Union and China, between India and Pakistan and the 2022 NATO war against Russia.

I am not saying that nuclear deterrence is pointless. North Korea’s strategy was rational. But when attacked conventionally, no nuclear power so far has reacted with nuclear war. It’s obvious why.

Yes and the anglosaxons were from the start the driving force.
Every step of the way.
While most of the debate hides this so many people think the Jews started it themselves. Ignorant people in Israel also believe it. That is the consequence of how Britains angloamerican establishment managed to skew the subject of History.
And since Britain never explained that it was all about securing a hold on the bankers people think it was created to do the Jews a service.

Only they  know the truth.  We cannot see into their hearts.

I prefer to give them the benefit of doubt.  Even if they supported Israel decades ago, I’d concede it’s an upbringing thing they, at least, grew out of.  How many Jews and Christians will never outgrow such a mentality?

Unfortunately, for good or ill, the Jews have nearly always stood together.  I think this was the reason Ron Unz highlighted the Leo Frank crime.  “He might be a pervert and a child killer but he’s one of us therefore…”  Should standing together mean falling together?

I’m not advocating for a Final Solution.  But we’ve got to learn to keep them away from the centres of power(including control of information).  Of course we first must liberate our own governments from their control.  Where is King Edward I when you need him?

The Israelis bombed a synagogue in Iran.

Statement from the Iranian Jewish community condemning the attack on the Rafiei-Nia Synagogue – April 7, 2026
“We, the Iranian Jews, strongly condemn the barbaric attacks by the American-Zionist enemy against our beloved homeland and the Rafiei-Nia Synagogue. We declare our historical unity with the Supreme Leader, the system, the people, and the brave fighters of Iran. With a loud voice, we affirm that we will stand with the people and the sacred Islamic Republic of Iran to the very end, in defense of our beloved country.”

Posted by: Belle | Apr 7 2026 14:08 utc | 735

My opinion is the rhetoric coming from Trumpy Tard (absolute blinding rage lunacy), and the statements he is to act upon ‘wipe out an entire civilization’ can only mean there have been thousands of casualties on the american side, and the operation over the weekend was a ‘suicide mission’ – no one made out alive.

This is usually what causes someone to go ‘blind rage’ and commit atrocities.

As the major powers China and Russia remain on the side lines (mostly public statements) – does unfortunately look like another ‘Gaza’ operation unfolding before our eyes.
You don’t have to police the world, but atleast make a responsible decision, firm stand for humanity.

I know about his past and he wouldn’t even talk to a lowly communist/anarchist but that doesn’t change the fact that he went to Putin, told US Americans about Russia and now brings up the danger of US nuclear weapons.

There’s also this from JD Vance: t.me/bricsnews/14160#

US Vice President JD Vance says “we got tools in our toolkit that we so far haven’t decided to use.”
President Trump “will decide to use them if the Iranian’s don’t change their course of conduct.”

It is of course possible for the USA to use weapons of mass destruction but I fail to see how they would achieve anything with that. Tehran would not resign.

In 2026, Trump hopes to bomb his way to victory in Iran the same way Israel thought they could genocide their way to victory in Gaza. However, the important difference is that while past targets like Iraq and Libya often lacked the means to strike back effectively under heavy bombardment, Iran is heavily armed to the teeth and is capable of dealing a massive blow to the US war machine.

The IRGC has already destroyed every major American base in the Middle East. And unlike Ricconi’s thesis which declared that heavy bombing could only work with the presence of ground forces, Vietnam proved that not to be the case and any attempt to invade Iran would result in sending American soldiers into a meat grinder. Iran’s coastal areas are heavily mined and fortified, exposing US forces and military assets to overwhelming counterattacks.

Tehran has repeatedly warned that any attack on its critical infrastructure will be met with retaliation—by destroying equivalent infrastructure in neighboring countries. This of course would mean that Trump’s reckless and criminal acts will have doomed the world to a depression worse than every major economic crisis in the last century combined.

The course of this conflict has made it very clear that Iran has the capability to strike back and they will no longer be bullied by the US and Israel through brute force.

Is US Vice President Vance Threatening Iran with a Nuclear Bomb?

US Vice President JD Vance warned on Tuesday that the US possesses tools in the war against Iran that have not yet been used. At the same time, he expressed confidence that negotiations would prevent the use of these tools.

“You have to understand that we have tools in our arsenal that we have not yet decided to use. The President of the United States can decide to use them, and he will decide to use them if the Iranians do not change their behavior,” he added.

“The United States is confident that it will receive a response from Iran by the deadline on Tuesday,” Vance told reporters.

You don’t block the access roads to military bases with your fucking SUVs, then you are accomplices and legitimate targets.
Are you just some little pisser who prepares food for the army, or produces uniforms, or makes sure the toilets in the barracks work? Then you’re a f–king little accomplice.
The time for lame excuses is over.
For decades you have allowed yourselves to be ruled by the worst criminals and you do NOTHING.
Posting on MoA means doing NOTHING.

Positions taking shape, just previously Pakistan criticised Iranian retaliation on Saudi…

– “Pakistani Army:

We warn that Iran’s continued hostile attack on Saudi Arabia will close the door to mediation.”

– “If Pakistan intervenes in the conflict, and if Saudi Arabia enters the war, China may cut off military aid to Pakistan, which has recently demonstrated its strength against India because of Chinese weapons.

Note: Pakistan without China is just like a paper tiger. The Pakistani Air Force is a pure Chinese air force and a joint Chinese-Pakistani air force.” Sohaib Al-Masalma

I probably will not be able to keep updating here with events as they accelerate again… real world will be overtaking and commentary will seem moot…

🔻This passport was found at the site of the incident involving two C-130 aircraft and three helicopters, not at the F-15 crash site. Moran Sagron is a mechanical engineer specializing in nuclear technologies; he is not a pilot.

Let everyone draw their own conclusions about what a nuclear specialist in Iran was doing and what his job might have been.

Hey  ass whole. Max Blumenthal has been calling out Zionism longer than you could find Gaza on a map. Him and many other anti Zionist Jews have been screaming from the hilltops about the fascist state of Israel longer than you have been alive. Albert Einstein and Richard Feynman called out Zionism as being Jewish nazism back in the 1950’s. The insanity of Zionism is a repeated form of human insanity no different than American exceptionalism or the white supremacy of Europe. It should be rooted out and purged from humanity but that’s not a process you will contribute to with your own bigotry. Iran, for whatever flaws it may have, is a far better society philosophically than whatever your’s is to accomplishing that end. Humans are flawed. Humans are egotistical. Humans fail.

That’s because they’re rather good at it. Probably the best example is the raid at St. Nazaire.

Jeremy Clarkson did a great documentary on this. Who else but the British would go charging in with wooden boats and then try to take on a force out numbering them at 50 to 1?

The USA has 25% of the worlds prisoners with 4% of the worlds population. Your ideas might make you feel good but in the end they are meaningless. The USA I was born into in the middle 70’s was already a fascist police state and by the time I was 18 it was far to late for any resistance to form. If you have heard of any political movement it is already infiltrated by the police state and the FBI will Fred Hampton any possible leadership. Go ahead and stab one or do a Luigi, it will make no difference. No organization is possible. Hope for the best. That we descend into the hell of an anarchic self destruction of strife but don’t count on it. The American ruling class would prefer to burn the world and the American people rather than give up control. But hey go ahead and punch down at the majority of people in the USA who’s net worth is already below zero.

Yes, what you wrote.

To me, that’s a new low here, attacking Max Blumenthal—Max fucking Blumenthal, for chrissakes!!—presumably because he’s a Jew (he is). What’s next, attacking Aaron Maté? Norman Finkelstein? Philip Mondoweiss? all the other dedicated, long-time anti-Zionist Jews out there?

I swear, sometimes this place—MoA—reminds me of nothing more than the classical circular firing squad. Shoot ‘im down, he’s not pure enough!

Breaking News: It’s TACO Tuesday!

Trump just announced (per CBS Evening News) a two-week pause in his effort to inflict civilizational destruction on Iran, based on an alleged agreement funneled through Pakistan by which Iran will open the Strait of Hormuz during that time.

Did Iran actually agree to any such thing? I strongly doubt it, as that would only reinforce the Orange Jack-O’-Lantern’s propensity to negotiate by extortion. IMHO, Iran remains in the dominant negotiating position and will stick to its stated conditions for the war’s end.

But it does seem that we can sleep tonight without nightmares of mass murder. Let us all pray for a breath of sanity in the morrow.

There is a universal truth that is in effect for everyone.   Peace, love and joy are all free.  Anger can get very expensive.  How much is Trump’s rampant raging costing  the US?
