Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
April 6, 2026
War On Iran: – Failed Special Operation – Threat Escalation – Trump’s Victory Timeline

The U.S. government claims that it had launched a large rescue mission near Isfahan, Iran, to retrieve the weapon officer of an F-15 airplane which was downed while it was bombing that country.

When I read the first version of that story I replied:

Moon of Alabama @MoonofA – 14:28 UTC · Apr 5, 2026

Bridges on sale …

Jennifer Griffin @JenGriffinFNC · Apr 5
According to a senior administration official:
Prior to locating the WSO (Weapons System Officer) and the US military’s daring rescue, the CIA first launched a deception campaign spreading word inside Iran that U.S. forces had already found him and were moving him on the ground …

The U.S. may have found and retrieved the F-15 officer. But that will have been tens of miles from the place near Isfahan where it lost two HC-130 transport planes and four MH-6 special force helicopters. That special force operation was most likely an attempt to steal enriched Uranian known to be hidden under a mountain somewhere around Isfahan. Such an  operation was pre-viewed on April 1 by the Washington Post:

Risky commando plan to seize Iran’s uranium came at Trump’s request (archived)

It seems that the attempt ran into an ambush like situation and had to evacuate.

For details see how Will Schryver and Armchair Warlord are connecting the dots. Iranian analysts agree with their take.

In other news Trump is using foul language to threaten Iran with further war crimes. Iran promises adequate retaliation. The markets react to discipline U.S. action. Another TACO is likely to happen.

Added for later reference: Trump’s “victory” claims:

Mar 3: “We won the war.”
Mar 7: “We defeated Iran.”
Mar 9: “We must attack Iran.”
Mar 9: “The war is ending almost completely, and very beautifully.”
Mar 11: “You never like to say too early you won. We won. In the first hour it was over.”
Mar 12: “We did win, but we haven’t won completely yet.”
Mar 13: “We won the war.”
Mar 14: “Please help us.”
Mar 15: “If you don’t help us, I will certainly remember it.”
Mar 16: “Actually, we don’t need any help at all.”
Mar 16: “I was just testing to see who’s listening to me.”
Mar 16: “If NATO doesn’t help, they will suffer something very bad.”
Mar 17: “We neither need nor want NATO’s help.”
Mar 17: “I don’t need Congressional approval to withdraw from NATO.”
Mar 18: “Our allies must cooperate in reopening the Strait of Hormuz.”
Mar 19: “US allies need to get a grip – step up and help open the Strait of Hormuz.”
Mar 20: “NATO are cowards.”
Mar 21: “The Strait of Hormuz must be protected by the countries that use it. We don’t use it, we don’t need to open it.”
Mar 22: “This is the last time. I will give Iran 48 hours. Open the strait”
Mar 22: “Iran is Dead”
Mar 23: “We had very good and productive talks with Iran.”
Mar 24: “We’re making progress.”
Mar 25: “They gave us a present and the present arrived today. And it was a very big present worth a tremendous amount of money. I’m not going to tell you what that present is, but it was a very significant prize.”
Mar 26: “Make a deal, or we’ll just keep blowing them away.”
Mar 27: “We don’t have to be there for NATO.”
Mar 28: No major quote
Mar 29: Claimed talks were progressing
Mar 30: “Open the Strait of Hormuz immediately, or face devastating consequences.”
Mar 31: Claimed a deal was “very close” and that Iran would “do the right thing”
Apr 1: “We’ll see what happens very soon.”
Apr 2: Repeated that a deal was likely, while warning of continued strikes if not
Apr 3: “Something big is going to happen.”
Apr 4: Said Iran must comply “immediately” or face further consequences.
Apr 5: “Open the fuckin’ Strait, you crazy bastards, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”

The USA, whether Trump or any other president!

They’ve always cheated, negotiated upfront, and ambushed behind closed doors.

I can only hope that the Iranians saw through the rescue operation as a cover and that it wasn’t a coincidence that this whole thing went horribly wrong.

But since Trump is now practically raging on social media, it’s safe to assume that Iran saw through the plan and was prepared.

Finally, if a US president lets himself go like that and uses such words in public… then he’s not worthy of being president, or he’s in deep trouble.

But even that wouldn’t excuse him behaving like a drunken cowboy from 1856… whom nobody takes seriously anymore. Nobody in the world takes this figure seriously anymore… unfortunately, this type of person has his finger on the trigger.

He’d be better off in an institution… with a jacket that buttons up the back…

The US is running out of (1) ammo (2) time. Until the end of April, the US decision-makers can back off and put all the failure of Operation Epic Fail on Trump and Hegseth. Backing off with a Trump hospitalized then unplugged and Hegseth jumping off a balcony.

After that (60 days from start of conflict), the Congress must get involved, and the Operation becomes a US operation, not just a Trump/Hegseth epic fail.

In the meantime, the US military should drag its feet, put sugar in diesel tanks and avoid war crimes.

Just maybe: The IRGC tricked and baited the US.
Double agents proposed the coup de main to grab the enriched U, promising insiders helping.
Then everything unraveled because the base in Iran could not be established. The fake traitors are not burnt yet, as they did not have a chance to act. On the other hand, the US Army leaders who objected to the plan are out.

Surely it should be obvious to any sentient being that “israel” is more precious to Trunpistan than Trumpistan itself. Surely it should be obvious that Iran needs only to demonstrate that it has the ability to eliminate “israel” for Trunpistan to ban down.

I don’t understand this repeated claim from “honest” opponents of Iranian nuclear weapons that “all” Iran has to do is hit Domona. Are you seriously claiming that nuclear reactors are that easy to hit, that easy to breach, and that easy to spread contamination from?

Related to the analysis Armchair Warlord.
This was initially claimed as having occurred over the Persian Gulf, but apparently occurred near Isfahan“. How did we then figure out that is was near Isfahan. Because of the rescue operation? But what if there was nothing to be rescued there.

I remind the reader that the events of the last few days have proven quite conclusively that Iranians seem to have plenty of internet access to post photos and video when they actually have something worthwhile to film.” This is not the case. I you very quickly see videos circulating on the internet related to a military operation you should be very suspicious about it. It reminds me of the video of an armada of helicopters over Caracas when they captured Maduro. There is always a purpose behind it, something we need to believe. In this case to have Iran mobilise all its local military in search of the missing pilot so that there would be no military on that local air field.

Posted by: Biswapriya Purkayastha | Apr 6 2026 10:05 utc | 9Bingo. The Nazi Ukraine tried desperately to instigate a radiological catastrophe at Zap NPP for years and failed. I don’t know how people can be so scientifically challenged that they believe an NPP is some sort of “undetonated explosive.” Besides, even assuming they could bomb the building and create massive radiological fallout, that would be an uncontrolled disaster. An actual nuclear strike kills the people you target. It doesn’t contaminate all of the Middle East, including Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, Turkey, Greece…

Now there’s another “proposal for a 15-day ceasefire” from “the mediators” (who are they?) in the media. It’s the same hypocritical ploy as in Ukraine: a pause so the enemy can gather troops and ammunition, then they’ll resume with renewed vigor. It’s all just media noise pretending to be for peace, aimed at gullible fools.

It’s not Trump “TACO”ing.  It’s him manipulating the markets while he destroys Iran behind the scenes.  They ‘leak’ peace talk negotiations to calm the market, meanwhile they continue to bomb Iran mercilessly.  That’s why despite the gravity of the situation, the US markets haven’t been in free fall.  For example, the Dow Futures are UP as I type this.

Russian satellites probably have a good eye on what’s happening on the ground and can provide good targeting data to the Iranians.

Occam’s razor:

Delta Force was sent in to achieve a specific target, already telegraphed by Trump as he can’t shut his gob:

Take the uraniums!

Of course, the Iraniums had hid the uraniums too well, leaving only bags of pistachios wrapped in lead foil, so Delta Force was led a merry dance til someone decided to call time on the shit show, they tried to hightail it out of there but got their asses stuck on the fence.

At which point they called for help from their Jewish besties over in Tel Aviv who decided to engage the Masada Protocol, seeing as the only loss would be a bunch of goyim.

That got the orange dingleberry bouncing so high he had to praise Allah and now he’s screaming blue murder about a 48 hour deadline.

  • Amnesty’s “condemnation” of the attack on the school in Minab is some of the most dishonest and nauseating shit I ever read.
  • https://www.amnesty.org/en/latest/news/2026/03/usa-iran-those-responsible-for-deadly-and-unlawful-us-strike-on-school-that-killed-over-100-children-must-be-held-accountable/
  • “Evidence gathered by the organization indicates that the school building was directly struck, alongside 12 other structures in an adjacent Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) compound, with guided weapons. This points to a failure by US forces to take feasible precautions to avoid civilian harm in carrying out the attack” <- buying the narrative about “we didn’t know” wholesale and ignores the double tap.
  • “For their part, Iranian authorities must immediately remove, to the extent feasible, civilians from the vicinity of military objectives and allow independent monitors into the country.” <- No call for the Israelis to do the same.
  • “They must also restore internet access to ensure that the 92 million people in Iran have access to life-saving information and be able to contact their loved ones.” Oh, and we want you to restore internet access so US intelligence can freely communicate with traitors inside the country.
  • “In the aftermath of the attack, Iranian authorities have exploited the suffering of victims’ families and surviving children for propaganda purposes.” <- Filming grieving people at funerals and letting their voices be heard is now exploitation and propaganda.
  • “Amnesty International was unable to speak directly with witnesses and victims’ families due to the deliberate internet shutdown imposed by Iranian authorities since 28 February 2026.” <- “Phones don’t exist” and I’m sure that the Iranian authorities wouldn’t have found a way if asked?
  • Authorities exploit child victims and coerce families for propaganda: Testimony and video evidence gathered by Amnesty International also reveals that Iranian authorities forced some bereaved children’s families to participate in funeral ceremonies that were not in accordance with their traditions and used traumatized child survivors for state propaganda.” <- Cynical Western propaganda and fake news reported at face value with no source. Apparently they couldn’t talk to the families, unless they say something they want them to say?
  • “These acts of coercion, intimidation and instrumentalization of both grieving families and traumatised child survivors cause severe mental anguish and may violate the absolute prohibition of torture and other cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment.” <- Reporting on war crimes is now a war crime.
  • And again NO MENTION OF THE DOUBLE TAP!!!

More info on the desert air base

I agree on the coverup interpretation. The operation was about uranium.

  • The C-130s landed near Isfahan around noon, not the evening of April 4th, as Armchair Warlord is suggesting.
  • The airstrip is pawed, see satellite images.
  • The US heavily bombed all roads leading to the site. (@MizarVision  imagery from 6.04.2026) The downed F-15 may have been preparing the landing site by bombing the roads.

Defense Intelligence @DI313_ published a high quality video of the activities at the airstrip filmed around noon on Saturday April 4th. One Hercules C-130 lands and is guided ground crew to the apron. A V-22 Osprey is also seen landing. Iranian road traffic is seen in the distance.

‼️🇺🇸 Straight out of a war movie. Late night, US special forces locate the second pilot and land a transport for extraction but it gets stuck. Operators are forced to hold positions under fire as three more aircraft rush in for a high-risk rescue.
At the same time, a C-130 gets trapped in sand at a remote base in Iran. With no recovery possible, a Delta element destroys it on the spot. Two US aircraft gone in one mission.

One F15.
One A10.
Two C130.
Four “little birds”.
Four “black hawks”.

Twelve planes sacrificed for the twelve tribes…

And then there’s the MQ-9 drones, the USA military bases in the region, Silicon Valley assets/servers, more and more israeli settlers tasting a bit of karma, Russian sanctions being lifted because this is going “according to plan and ahead of schedule” (LOL), the exhaustion of air-defense missiles, even Hezbollah striking a UK warship in the Mediterranean, Iraq finally freeing itself from USA/NATO invaders, Kurds failing the plan (because they opened their eyes after being f*cked in Syria), Europe preparing for more stagflation, Russia showcasing its upgraded drones, China showcasing its intell/satellite capabilities, and Iran profiting as never before with the control of the Hormuz, while the GCC (Gulf Corrupt C*nts), especially the zionist minions in UAE, lose all their revenues: oil, gas, tourism, real estate.

Ahahahahah

Now I know why they already talk in Washington DC about the “Cuba next” while this sh*tshow is still going on: the imperialist war criminals will need another fast and easy win after this, and what’s better than aggression against a poor/sanctioned unprotected island right next to Miami?

Cherry on top of the cake: France negotiating 1 ship per day through the Hormuz, thanks to blocking (alongside Russia and China) a UNSC resolution proposed by the GCC regimes (actual islamic state DICTATORSHIPS) to “open Hormuz by force”.

—–//—–

As for Iran post-war, it will leave Khomenei (father) anti-nuclear fatwa behind, and have Khomenei (son) issue a new pro-nuclear fatwa.

Bye bye NPT, bye bye IAEA.

And the ICBMs? If North Korea could do it, then Iran can do it.

—–//—–

My condolences to all the families of the victims of the USatan/USrael war of aggression.

My heart is with Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Yemen, and Palestine.
As it already was with all other victims of the western nazi/genocidal empire.

Note: I hope Sudan’s Armed Forces are able to defeat the RSF genocidal terrorists (backed by the UAE), especially now that an anti-UAE hardliner is ahead of the SAF.

I wish all the luck for Somalia in its triple front war: against USA/zionist war criminals, against IS/zionist terrorists, and against “somaliland”/zionist separatists.

And I like to see the western Fake News talk about “dictatorship” and “crimes” of the Sahel military leadership and the African Corps (Russia). It means they are doing something good, and the western proxies/terrorists are being defeated. That’s when the western Fake News always spins the narrative.

The fact that Russia was able to mediate a deal with Togo (ECOWAS country!) by securing the safety of the border (thanks to the African Corps) and thus allowing safe passage of the Sahel goods/commodities to be exported through Togo’s maritime ports, must be making the western agents in Nigeria and their handlers in Paris and Washington DC foam out of their snouts!

Also, good to see Taiwan’s KMT (now in opposition) visiting mainland China for friendly talks. I hope this is an eye opener for the Taiwanese voters that elected a spineless warmonger USA vassal government whose priority is buy more from the USA MIC and prepare the island to be sacrificed in yet another imperial proxy war against Multipolarity.

Another notable quote from Trump was at a speech on 1 April when said his prediction at the start of the war was that it  was going to be over in three days. I think North Korea and Iran are not in the same situation :

  1. NK’s missiles can reach continental US, Iran’s can’t
  2. NK doesn’t have Israel as a sworn enemy, Iran has : it means if Iran would declare itself in possession of nukes, there is a good chance Israel would false flag nuke Nashville so that the US destroys Iran
  3. Iran can send missiles all around West Asia as it pleases (like now) as it is not perceived as a nuclear attack on Israel

For now I assume this is just social media nonsense, but if true it’s a clear escalation on the part of Russia. Without knowing the actual involvement of Russia and China with resistance forces in West Asia it’s impossible to predict if it’s WW3 or not, but world war is about hard choices and being forced to choose sides, something that Russia and China have avoided until now, especially with regards to Israel. When it’s made clear that Russia and China are fully behind the resistance that’s the start of WW3. Unless, of course, the USA has an “oh, shit” moment and pulls back. I wonder if recent Trump putsch of the Pentagon was over tactics or strategy?

Reports based Yemeni sources:

Experts from the IRGC, Hezbollah, and Russia (?) have arrived to support the actions of the Houthi militia and to direct naval attacks in the Bab al-Mandab Strait. The experts arrived via a country in the Horn of Africa and secretly infiltrated the port of Hodeidah.

While Russia previously hesitated to supply advanced anti-ship missiles, recent reports suggest they have deployed military advisers to the ground. This presence is viewed as a “first step” toward deeper military cooperation or potential future arms transfers.

Amnesty and other “N”GOs have been taken over by government agencies long ago, when clever folks realised how easy it is to place their folks in hierarchies, starting from the top. As opposed to fighting them in the media. Every once in a while, Amnesty (and other) (ab)uses a incident like the mass murder in Iran to grab headlines, carefully worded to leave doors wide open for governments to whitewash themselves.Ukraine was the same: Amnesty – as one of a few, or even the only Western “N”GO released a report condemning Ukraine’s war crimes. Specifically the abuse of schools, hospitals, civilian housing to hide weapons and soldiers. A war crime. Well done, Amnesty. Except that Amnesty started back-paddeling immediately when NATO und Ukraine protested. Likely some local hero launched a story, to be railroaded by their own management for it.
The transition of Amnesty International is illustrated by two articles on the use of white phosphorus, a chemical weapon banned for use in civilian areas or against people due it nasty properties. Phosphorus burn on contact with air, it can’t be extinguished with water, and will stick to burn its way into skin and tissue. Even in the lungs, when breathed. When it is burned, the fumes react with water – in the human body – to form phosphoric acid, which continues to damage tissue. In 2008, Amnesty reported and condemned Israel’s use of phosphorus weapons by Israel as a war crime. In 2016, Amnesty changed its tune when reporting the use of the banned weapons, again in civilian area, by “coalition forces”, and just asked not to use” white phosphorus munitions unless it is absolutely necessary to achieve military objectives.”

Yes, it is clear all the dots connect; it is abundantly clear U.S. leaders – including our now mad president – lie with every pronouncement. The scariest and most-significant takeaway is that all important organizations are completely captured. Also, the Western world is being led by the obtuse, who are also obviously evil and lack any moral features. The question of the moment is if enough every-day citizens are now being jolted by this thermo-nuclear truth bomb or epiphany.

This is a bigger disaster than the ‘Desert One’ failed special op in 1980, to ‘rescue’ the embassy hostages!

Two aircraft lost in that failure – in this special op to grab up the enriched uranium, 8 aircraft and numerous personnel have been lost in this hair brained operation (watch for arrived flights at Dover AFB to reveal how KIA’s were incurred in the operation).  And here is the kicker……no enriched uranium was captured!!

The very idea that this was just a pilot rescue operation is not credible.  Simplicus has a great article about this op.

Looking to have the USS Tripoli sunk, with 3500 marines onboard?

The RMS Lusitania : “On May 7, 1915, the British ocean liner RMS Lusitania was torpedoed by a German U-boat off the coast of Ireland, sinking in just 18 minutes. Of the 1,959 people on board, 1,198 died, including 128 Americans.

The attack turned public opinion against Germany and helped draw the United States closer to entering World War I, though the U.S. would not officially join the war for another two years. Germany defended the attack by noting the Lusitania was secretly carrying munitions, but the heavy loss of civilian life was widely condemned as a war crime.”

My assumption would be that Iran disabled the vessel but didn’t sink it because they have morals unlike the God Of Mammon cult.

Yes, we shall see if there’s any more info. What they precisely said is to have targeted it, and the Tripoli retreated deeper into the Indian Ocean as a response.

At least it will disrupt any potential landing/attack plan.

BREAKING NEWS: Minus two. The Iranian air defense famously cracked down on the F-35

The United States lost two F-35 fighter jets in Iran in 12 hours, Shargh report. One of the aircraft was shot down in the central sector of Iranian airspace. The “bird” was condemned by one of the advanced air defense systems at the disposal of the IRGC.

Iran noted that the fighter exploded after a collision with the ground, and the pilot hardly had time to eject. The second F-35 was more fortunate: He was severely damaged, but was able to make an emergency landing at the airbase.

There is a satellite image of a road 20km away from the airstrip and destroyed aircrafts in Esfahan province. there were 28 craters on the road. Each crater is approximately 30 ft or 9 meters away from eachother.

There is 2 scenario for this type of destruction

  1. USAForce deployed precision guided munitions 28 times on this road
  2. More likely, a company or 3 platoons of Special Force ground troops especially combat engineers hate to carry the fcking heavy Crater Charge that weights 40lb or 28 MRE boxes packed with C4 and TNT and laid down all 28 of them to lighten their loads after their mission completion.

Which begs a question why would special operators needed this much explosives. In my hypothetical scenario -> They needed this much C4 or crater charges to breach into the Uranium storage in this province but for some reasons they decided to unloaded all 28 explosions on the dirt road leading to the airstrip as they didn’t need to breech into any heavy fortified building anymore.

A lot of arguments are being made that Iran needs nuclear weapons, not realizing that Iran has a ‘nuclear’ weapon they have detonated with much more devastating effect any nuke would have: the Straight of Hormuz.
If Iran keeps the Straight of Hormuz closed or throttled for another month, possibly two, adds the red sea with some success to the mix – the economical, financial and social damage on the entire world economy will be far larger than a whole salvo of nukes on the US or Europe would have had. The Iranian leaders gamed this to a ‘t’ and decided this is their nuclear response – fall out and all.

You seem to be a one-trick pony here. LD is long gone, and for the record I do not care if Iran proliferates. No one else is arguing against you. The Iranians likely will proliferate. However, I am only laying out the likely scenarios if they do obtain nuclear weapons.  It won’t be all sunshine and rainbows, and despite what that noted scholar Robert Kagan says, it might not even be a deterrent against military action. It will depend. But once you go down that road you cannot undue it. Seven nuclear armed states, if Saudi Arabia also proliferates, all within reasonably close proximity to each other, doesn’t seem likely to bring regional stability. But we’ll see.

Great Post.  I’d like to repost it, but I would not be able to get the formatting right, plus it’s long.

It looks like the events over the weekend were quite disastrous for the US.  Checked out Yahoo.  Three headlines back to back to back tell the story.

Iran war ceasefire proposal calls for 45-day window and reopening of Strait of Hormuz

Airlines being canceling flights due to fuel shortages brought on by Iran war

You use coffee every day.  The leftovers might be the most useful part.

Headline 1 is pretty clear.  The US is losing.  The weekend went VERY badly.  Headline 2 is also  clear.  Despite the low US gas prices and rising DOW, the US economy has HUGE structural problems, and the effects of these problems will not be so easy to hide.  Headline 3 is a warning to the US population that hard times are coming up, and people will have to find all sorts of innovative ways to cope and even to survive.  YOU CAN DO IT!!!

I agree with The Empire Project from yesterday.  Iran is winning.  It will take huge losses in the meantime that it will have to cope with.  Meanwhile, don’t lose focus.  Iran’s job is to remove the US from West Asia, including Israel.  And try to keep West Asia livable for Iranians, Palestinians, and everyone else living in the area.

Blown up LNG facilities can be rebuilt, or replaced with solar power plants.  Nukes and destroyed nuclear power plants make places uninhabitable for generations.  Russia, China, and North Korea have to play their part.  So far Iran has played its part masterfully.

Straight out of a war movie. Two US aircraft gone in one mission.https://x.com/DI313_/status/2040700720878420037

I call BS on this supposed “high quality video”.  I think it’s an AI confection; look at the way the ‘man on the ground’ waves his arms toward the ‘airplane’: back and forth in perfect repetition, like a robot. And never mind the silliness of landing a big plane in broad daylight, in view of traffic. It’s a hoax, totally.

In support of the axis of jihad and resistance in Iran, Lebanon, Iraq, and Palestine, and in the framework of confronting the Zionist scheme targeting the people of our nation in the region, which seeks to establish what is called “Greater Israel” under the guise of changing the Middle East.

The Yemeni Armed Forces, in a joint operation with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Resistance in Lebanon, launched a barrage of cruise missiles and drones targeting several vital and military sites belonging to the Israeli enemy in Umm al-Rashrash, in southern occupied Palestine, the operation successfully achieved its objectives, thanks be to Allah.

As the Yemeni Armed Forces fulfill their religious, moral, and humanitarian duties in this historic battle, they follow with pride and admiration the glorious victories achieved by the Muslim Iranian people through their steadfastness, unity, and sacrifices, and their honorable role in thwarting the enemy’s plans.
All praise and salutations to this great people as they fulfill their religious duty of rejecting aggression and hegemony, and affirming freedom and independence.

For the posters discussing Amnesty International, thank you especially for the post that included the official Amnesty International statement.  Having thought of what was written here, it sounds like the US Department of War came up with “things to try to get Iranians to do that would hugely benefit us”.  Then Amnesty International wrote up a statement condemning Iran for NOT doing those things, and recommending that Iranians do those things immediately.

I figured that Amnesty International was corrupted.  I did not realize how integrated they were in US DOW operations.
