Trump And The Devil

President Donald Trump has for some time been in a public dispute with Pope Leo of the Catholic church.

Within the context of the quarrel Trump posted a picture of himself depicted as saint healer overseen by a devil.

And no – this isn’t a late April’s fool joke …

On February 4 2026, the X/Twitter account NickAdamsinUSA posted this AI slop picture of Trump as a saint healer.

The man in the middle has been transformed into something like a ‘horned’ angel.  He seems to wear a Statue of Liberty look-alike crown.

One wonders who initiated that transformation. When and for what purpose?

Context:

Pope Leo XIV had recently spoken out against the wars waged by President Donald Trump.

On Apr 12 at 21:03 ET President Donald Trump posted a rant against Pope Leo:

Pope Leo is WEAK on Crime, and terrible for Foreign Policy. He talks about “fear” of the Trump Administration, but doesn’t mention the FEAR that the Catholic Church, and all other Christian Organizations, had during COVID when they were arresting priests, ministers, and everybody else, for holding Church Services, even when going outside, and being ten and even twenty feet apart. I like his brother Louis much better than I like him, because Louis is all MAGA. He gets it, and Leo doesn’t! I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s OK for Iran to have a Nuclear Weapon. I don’t want a Pope who thinks it’s terrible that America attacked Venezuela, a Country that was sending massive amounts of Drugs into the United States and, even worse, emptying their prisons, including murderers, drug dealers, and killers, into our Country. Forty-three minutes after his rant Trump posted the above picture which portrays him as a saint with a horned/crowned angel/devil above him.

How will the evangelical followers of Trump interpret this?

Who construed and directed this drama?

I saw this when it posted.  The first posts – maybe 30-40 – were all approving with the usual memes applauding Trump.  This is ordinary and I feel these are all bot posts.
 
The hundreds of posts following the 30-40 bot/meme posts were generally negative, horrified posts about blasphemy, shock and dismay, and those posts were getting dozens of likes.
 
The war on Iran has caused damage.  Israel’s continued bombing of Lebanon, Gaza, the West Bank, etc. has done even more damage, but I am not sure that what Israel has been doing is being reported in US media.  The increasing price of oil and gas and forecasts for increases in food prices are very damaging and people are now wondering if Trump cared any for the situations of his devoted working class voters.  But beyond those, this post added damage and led to questioning of the real view and real goals of Trump.
 
In answer to a reporters question about him posting the picture, he admitted he did.  He said that he thought it was a picture of him as a doctor.  And that lie won’t go down well either because everybody else knew it had nothing to do with a doctor and everything to do with miraculous heavenly healing.

Don’t obsess over Trump. Sooner or later, there will be a more “normal” POTUS, such as Rubio or Vance, and then the wars and genocide will be the same, just dressed up more “normally”, just as the Bushes, Clinton, Obama, Biden (oh, that’s everyone!) did.
 
I think it is interesting to discuss what circumstances trigger such a degenerate (in the sense of: not normal) president. Is he the Caligula of our time? But as far as geopolitics go, I don’t think it matters. Team Biden was as agreement incapable as Team Trump, for example.

What I am analyzing is why Iran would agree to a ceasefire when it seemed to myself and most others that Iran was winning an outright victory while the US seemed desperate for the ceasefire. (I’ll add, one of the most popular slogans at this site was “Iran will NEVER agree to a ceasefire!!!” Then all those same people scrambled to invent after-the-fact copium justifications.)
 
Was Iran caving in to nuclear blackmail? If so, blackmail worked and wasn’t “zugzwang” at all. And the idea of the US blockading the Strait is idiotic only because the US really wants the Strait open. If the US decided it wanted to seal the Strait shut it could, since only destruction would be necessary.
 
And then what happens the next time the US threatens to nuke Iran, now that they see how well the threat worked this time? There’s no reason to think Russia and China would extend a nuclear umbrella next time when they didn’t this time. (Anyway, as we keep being reminded here, if the US were to nuke Iran that would be none of Russia’s business. Why should they care?)

I agree with what you’re saying here and would like to further that analyzing the person of Donald Trump is far less interesting than analyzing the circumstances and environment required for such a person to be elevated to head of state. In many ways I would even say that the Biden admin shared many aspects of the second Trump admin (a figurehead who, it is openly known, is incapable and not really fully in command) Even the GW Bush and Obama presidencies had a lot of parallels in form and appearance despite the superficial differences.
 
If nothing else, I think that President Trump is rather blatantly being set up as a fall guy for the inevitable negative consequences of present government actions. Perhaps that is even the truth of Caligula? Excuse all the harms caused by a ruling class by pinning it all on a convenient donkey.

I’m sorry but religious people don’t have real ideas and very likely have no genuine moral principles either. You can’t safely criticize Trump from the right, that’s a fool’s game. It doesn’t matter if Trump defies every alleged principle or idea of Christianity or not. It’s strictly a matter of taste, and those religious people who politics are Trumpery will excuse it every time. Any exceptions are so exceptional as to be negligible. 
 
And by the way, the so-called horned figure seems to me to obviously have been meant as Liberty with her crown, plus wings to show the American Statue of Liberty has been promoted to Messenger of God (aka angel) status. I’m not surprised some religious people found the symbolism too subtle.

As for me, I did think Iran was winning, albeit I remained sober about it. So when they agreed to a ceasefire the US was begging for, I didn’t invent a justification the way you did, I asked Why and thought about the answer.

I don’t know but that is an attempt at a rational explanation (which I approve of). When/if he falls, the entire country will project the negative experience on him, that’s for sure.
 
Having lived through the decline and fall of the East bloc, I can offer this comparison: the late Soviet leaders were rigid octogenarians out of touch with the population. 2.  I said Iran might be doing a Slo-mo camapaign, because it clearly was not giving full throttle.  I also noted many times that I am only posting hits and news about Iran made, but not posting news about hits Iran took, which were substantial, and I would say this to posters who got a little excited about how hard Iran was supposedly kicking ass.  I never considered the hits on the US bases, or the aircraft losses, to be “substantial”, nor did I buy into the estimations that USA actually lost “hundreds of soldiers”.  I even argued why I thought that particular fantasy a tad absurd.

After reading some more of the comments here, especially the one noting that the two images were probably generated by the same AI model using the same prompt and seed (good insight!) I have a better theory, one that makes this an even-less-significant non-issue than it already was. The prompt clearly asked for the Statue of Liberty, and stupid image generators still copy stuff from one place and put it all over the image where it wasn’t wanted. The ‘crown’ on that figure wasn’t “clearly intended to represent Liberty” as I theorized before; it wasn’t intended to be there at all. It was thrown in by artificial stupidity, like a picture supposed to have a Christmas tree in it having another tree outside the window with a couple of ornaments on it. Purely random, purely meaningless, purely irrelevant, but grabbed up by anyone wanting to use anything no matter how irrelevant if it lets them attack Trump in any way. Trump ought to be in prison getting a fair trial for each and every murder he ordered, not getting picked on for accidental meaningless details some AI randomly threw into an image.

Iran was firm in saying Trump wasn’t worth talking to. The talk is Iran was seeking a guarantor which China agreed to fulfill, and it was at that point when Iran said okay we can talk based on our 10 Points of preconditions that were published in early April. The answer came even before the talks began with the reversal on Lebanon. Nevertheless, the talks did happen because Iran needed to show the world it’s reasonable and not the party responsible for the global economic crisis. That message was further solidified by Vance’s behavior of clearly not having any agency and then walking away from the talks without informing Iran, actions that the entire world now knows to be true. Thus, even more than before, the Outlaw US Empire and its Zionist ally are seen as eviler than before, and the blockade serves to solidify that even in the eyes of its vassals who cannot help but see they don’t matter one bit in comparison to the Zionists. 
 
Iran knew it had more power than its foes when it entered the ceasefire, and it knows it will still have more when it ends. On the issue of nuke use as Trump implied with his threat to erase Iranian civilization, his rather quick 180 says he was told by some domestic actors he wasn’t allowed to do that. So, Trump effectively surrendered without telling Netanyahu. The blockade effectively voids the ceasefire, although the Zionists had already done that by attacking Lebanon again. During the relative calm of the last several days, Iran has received shipments of all sorts of goods from China and Russia to replace things that were expended like the decoys and many types of defensive weaponry.
 
What’s most important IMO is Iranian public opinion was bolstered by the talks since the government acted as the public demanded–no concessions, no step back from legitimate demands. And IMO the RoW agrees and is even more behind Iran than before: An easing of the situation at Hormuz was visible, the toll being just another small cost of doing business, but now the Empire aims to spite the entire world because the mad Trump is incapable of being a loser.
 
So, as you ought to see, Iran emerged from the talks stronger than it was when it entered just as Iran reasoned–it cost Iran nothing while its gain is immeasurable, while Trump and the Zionists are seen for what they are–the personification of pure evil.

I would suggest the picture is a sabotage. Trump approved it, probably after glancing at it for no more than a few seconds, saw a flattering image of himself but failed to notice the sinister looking “angel” above his head.
The rest of the work gets done by religious conspiracists who spend their lives reading and analysing the Apocrypha while cheering on every indication of Armageddon from which they hope to get raptured.
