The Pakistanis did very well with their Chinese provided system to shoot missiles at Indian fighters without turning on their targeting radars. The AWAC directed this missiles at the incoming Indian fighters who never even saw this missiles until the last seconds. Imagine if a plane fell near some village in Hungary, Poland or France. Do you believe any locals would have AD systems or automatic machine guns? Even if that plane fell near some small town in Texas there’s a small chance that locals would have much weaponry and would have to wait until the military arrives. Same with Nazrallah flyover, with ten or twenty manpads on rooftops history would be different. Air defense is limited or selective, it is a large territory to cover effectively without very advanced (and so centralised and vulnerable) systems. I agree. We know from more than a century of politicial assassinations that the murder itself doesn’t change policies. Rather, the consequence is more oppression. However, the current Western elite entirely lacks the equivalent of Roman “memento mori” (supposedly, a slave whispering to a triumphant general: “remember that you are mortal”). Same idea. Failure of deterrence. So far the US is using hybrid warfare but most countries are simply ignoring it, that’s why the US is not deterred. However if some crazy country with nukes had credibly threatened to nuke the US if they meddled in that country’s elections then you can bet the US wouldn’t be doing that either. Posted by: Arch Bungle | Apr 4 2026 1:25 utc | 594 There has been a lot of talk about Iranian air defences, remember years ago there was talk of Iran acquiring the S-300 even 400 system, did they ever get them and if so were they used in this conflict? Posted by: Englishman | Apr 4 2026 18:44 utc | 595 The strike by the “Epstein coalition” on the Bushehr Nuclear Power Plant (built and operated with Russian participation) on April 4, 2026, marks a new stage in the undeclared nuclear war. Rosatom Director General A. Likhachev stated: “Today, at approximately 7:20 a.m. Moscow time, a strike was launched, effectively hitting the plant’s defense perimeter. The first fatality has been recorded.” An Iranian, a plant security guard, was killed. Posted by: MiniMO | Apr 5 2026 2:18 utc | 596 Russians left Bushehr because the Israelis asked them too. It further shows Russia compromises the security of others (Syria, Iran) and itself for the Zionists. Posted by: MiniMO | Apr 5 2026 3:17 utc | 597 Nice blog here!
