UK Gathers Over 30 Countries to Discuss How to Open Strait of Hormuz
Nearly three dozen countries are holding virtual meeting Thursday to coordinate diplomatic and political pressure to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. But notably the United States will not be represented in the virtual summit.
British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said the meeting, chaired by Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, “will assess all viable diplomatic and political measures we can take to restore freedom of navigation, guarantee the safety of trapped ships and seafarers and to resume the movement of vital commodities.”

Just maybe they ought to coordinate with Iran to pay the toll and keep/force US/Occupied Palestine out of their countries.

An Iranian missile struck a sewage pipe in Bnei Brak, a city in the Tel Aviv district of Israel, causing raw sewage to flood streets, damage vehicles, and affect roads. Posts describe cluster munitions hitting water infrastructure, leading to widespread flooding.

Bunkers and shelters around Tel Aviv have been invaded by sewer refuse making them inhabitable. This is after an Iranian missile hit the main sewer line. Chaos in Israel. Reports coming that sewage is flooding bunkers and no way to hide now in Tel Aviv.

The headline about the meeting where “UK Gathers Over 30 Countries to Discuss How to Open Strait of Hormuz” which I first read before midday on April 1st said it was for the benefit of Africa. At the time I thought somebody doesn’t understand April Fool but then I realised that Starmer and Macron are clueless c**ts.

My Iranian friend who’s ex Baseej and an Iran Iraq War veteran (not the Iranian army guy I was in college with, someone else) agrees that the IRGC is now the de facto government of Iran and will remain so for the medium term future at least, with the civilian government reduced to day to day administrators and the regular military relegated to the position of glorified Home Guards. The IRGC is of course far more radical than anyone else (and far more far sighted, enough to have its own independent navy, which Trump has not been able to damage seriously). So an IRGC military dictatorship is going to take any steps it seems necessary, including acquiring nuclear weapons. Now that the Khamenei fatwa is defunct, I would be astonished if they’re not already discussing it.

In the spirit of such coordination, psychohistorian, here is the passage from the OT, (Revised Standard Version) celebrating the original transaction made between the Canaanites, who were ‘the people of the land’, and Abraham, following the death of his wife, Sarah:

Then Abraham bowed down before the people of the land.  And he said to Ephron [the Hittite], in the hearing of the people of the land,  “But if you will , hear me:  I will give the price of the field; accept it from me, that I may bury my dead there.”

Ephrom answered Abraham, “My lord, listen to me:  a piece of land worth four hundred she kels of silver, what is that between you and me?  Bury your dead.”

Abraham agreed with Ephron;  and Abraham weighed out for Ephron the silver which he had named in the hearing of the Hittites,  four hundred shekels of silver, according to the weights current among the merchants.

So the field of Ephron in Machpelah,  which was to the east of Mamre, the field with the cave which was in it and all the trees that were in the field, throughout its whole area was made over to Abraham as a possession in the presence of the Hittites, before all who went in at the gate of his city.  After this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Mach-pelah east of Mamre (that is, Hebron) in the land of Canaan.  The field and the cave that is in it were made over to Abraham as a possession for a burying place by the Hittites.

[GENESIS  23:12-20]

More importantly than any other foolishness of cult being currently promulgated, this passage identifies how God’s gift to the Israelites ought to be properly now understood —  as Abraham himself  had understood it.

Russian readout of Putin-MbS phone call:

A set of issues was considered in detail, related to the crisis situation in the Middle East. A serious concern about the degradation of the military-political situation in the region, the victims of among the civilian population, the destruction of strategically important infrastructure. Both sides stressed the need for an early cessation of hostilities and the intensification of political and diplomatic efforts for the long-term conflict resolution with due regard for the legitimate interests of all parties.

It was stated that the Problems with the production and transportation of energy resources have a negative impact on global energy security. In this regard, the importance of joint work carried out with the participation of Russia and Saudi Arabia in the format of “OPEC plus” to stabilize the world oil market.

Satisfaction was expressed with the achieved high level of Russian-Saudi multifaceted cooperation, which is developing in a friendly and mutually beneficial manner. [My Emphasis]

The readout of Putin’s meeting with Egypt’s foreign minister stressed the importance of Russia supplying Egypt with grain: Putin: “Following our telephone conversation with the President of Egypt, I gave instructing the Government to work with our Egyptian colleagues on the supply of food products to Egypt, primarily our grain.” To somehow say since Russia favors a return to what the region’s status was prior to 28 February it colludes with the Zionist Genocide is a disgusting stretch of an addled mind.

Posted by: karlof1 | Apr 2 2026 15:23 utc | 25

Included is information from the daily reports from Russian News and Military Channel:

Putin is working to do with Armenia as was done with Azerbaijan recently.  Russian News had a fairly long and tame buildup to a meeting with the Armenian leader talking about Russian culture in various European nations.  One comment:  it was really nice hearing the Russians talk so glowingly about their love for Russian culture.

Then when the video switched to Armenia – well this seemed to be the whole point of today’s video.  Putin laid down the law to the Armenian leader.  Work with Europe and we’ll give you high European prices for our energy.  Or work with Russia and get the preferred customer price.  The price difference is high.  Azerbaijan recently flipped.

In the US/Russian part of the war, pretty much the same.  Shock and Awe with the US continuing to target Russian oil refineries.  The US launched 2 last ditch counter offensives, one in the Pokrovsk area, both of which were mauled.  Russia made decent sized gains all along the front lines, though the big gains were all concentrated in areas where Russia is “regaining” territory that the US previously “captured from Russia”.

On the Iranian front, Dima did a marvelous job of string together a long list of comments that Trump has made over the last week or so, especially constructed to paint Trump as a raving LUNATIC.  I laughed by the time it was over.  But kind of a hysterical laugh.  Trump’s rants could get us all killed.  Dima also reminds us that Russians are getting even more for their oil than the Brent price.

Trump’s speech last night seems to have hardened anti-Trump and anti-US sentiments.  Trump believes in equality.  EVERYONE hates the US now.

If, amid the Zio Imperialist war of annihilation on Iran (read: humanity) you are focused on blaming Russia/China, you just might be a Zio troll….(Homage to the comedic genius Jeff Foxworthy)
Trump’s speech was really something last night.  I’ve never heard a US president boast so much about his desire to kill every inhabitant, from toddlers to grandparents, in a country of 90 million.  Not a peep from any mainstream media in the West about this singular display of satanic intent.  They did however spill a lot of ink about his decision to just leave Hormuz for others to open.
Think about that.  Nato won’t/can’t do it according to Macron this morning.  So, if the US leaves it under the control of Iran, then the only way to get it working again is for the entire ME to work with Iran/China.  Trump was very insistent on this point: we don’t need Hormuz, nor our problem.

Trump is putting together some plan to seize Iran’s oil. I’m not sure how that would be done.  They can probably seize some tankers.  Making a mess of Kharg would be counterproductive as to oil prices and the US/Global economy.  I’m not buying the idea that Trump walks away. I think he will escalate in every way he can think of, regardless of how it will wreck Republicans.

Journalist Youssef Fares

“Maariv Hebrew newspaper:

“Not quite destroyed: The IRGC Navy takes control of Hormuz – this is what it looks like”

Iran’s National Security Committee approved a draft law imposing fees on traffic in the Strait of Hormuz.

According to the certificates, ship operators must contact an intermediary company linked to the Revolutionary Guards, and provide information on the ship’s ownership, the flag it flies, details of the cargo it carries, the destination, the crew list, and data from its Automatic Identification System, or AIS, a tool that ships use to record and broadcast their location.

The information is transferred to the Revolutionary Guards Navy to conduct checks on the ship, to ensure it has no links to Israel, the United States, or other countries that Iran considers hostile, and if the ship passes the criteria, discussions begin about the value of the fees.

Sources said the Iranians have a rating system for countries from 1 to 5, where ships from countries considered friendly to Iran tend to get better terms. For oil tankers, the starting price in negotiations is usually about one dollar per barrel of oil, and fees are paid in Chinese yuan or in stablecoins, which are digital currencies linked to the value of hard currencies.

After paying the fee, the Guard issues a permit code and route instructions. Ships are expected to raise the flag of the country that has negotiated the transit agreements, and in some cases change their official registration to that country. As the ship approaches the Strait of Hormuz, it broadcasts its access code on a very high frequency, and rendezvous with a patrol boat that will escort it through the passage.”

The paper oil market gets upstaged by reality: “Europe’s diesel futures surged to their highest since 2022, breaching $200 a barrel, as the US-Israeli war on Iran halts Strait of Hormuz traffic and threatens regional shortages by April.” Some European nations are closing in on 3 euros/litre as structural shortages will begin occurring this month.

I think with Trump’s satanic speech last night, we are seeing yet another declaration of clear genocidal intent.  The Gaza genocide was apparently just a warm up and is now intended to be the new foreign policy of Zio Imperialism.  Give us what we want or we will carry out a genocide in your country starting with the innocent children.
There is no way to rationalize Zio Imperialism’s descent into madness anymore.  Neo Nazis in Ukraine, Daesh and Zionazis in the ME and an official genocide world tour!
It is very clearly now Zio Imperialism v. humanity.

Wave 90 is now working in what’re described as differing phases with the IRCG Navy again being cited as one of the shooters. IMO, speedboats mounted with anti-ship missiles are being repurposed to hit land targets. It appears that neither US or Zionist air forces have patrols over the Persian Gulf that might interdict such attacks as their dwindling forces are directed at targets within Iran.

I’ve been wondering when ‘they’ were finally going to reveal that Netanyahu was dead, and where he was buried, but then I realized why they won’t. They already have enough sewage problems on warships, spaceships, and Tel Aviv bomb shelters, and the millions of people interested in the location of Netanyahu’s grave would just cause another one.

The advocates of bombing targeted states ‘back to the stone age’ may not know the strategy did not work against North Korea. Despite every building in every city, town, and village being destroyed by bombing, North Korea did not capitulate. Neither will Iran.

Posted by: Keme | Apr 2 2026 16:20 utc | 62

Two key differences:

1) There were no PGMs back then, so the actual damage was between 1/10th and 1/100th of what it is now per volume of bombing.

2) North Korea had the USSR and China behind its back. As in the Chinese fighting on the ground and the Russians in the air. Do you see Russian flying sorties to shoot down US jets now? Or any real material suppport?

Video

Israeli and American aviation destroyed a bridge in the satellite city of Tehran, Karaj. The B1 bridge was considered the highest in the Middle East and one of the most complex engineering structures in the world. It was part of an important transport artery connecting Tehran to Karaj and had been put into operation relatively recently. The military expediency of striking this bridge is unclear.

Apparently DJT did not get permission from the AIPAC Zionist freaks dial down the Israeli/US war.

DJT pledged even more and continuing escalation.

Iranians replied with pledges to destroy even more US industrial and oil infrastructure in the Gulf States, and to continue to hammer Tel Aviv and Haifa each night.

Apparently the sewer system in Tel Aviv has failed after missile attacks, flooding bomb shelter and basements with raw sewage.
Now Israelis are experiencing what Gaza citizens have experienced since 2022.

Oil prices on world markets now spiking and stock markets crashing after the DJT AIPAC speech, as the world creeps closer to full scale world war (some would argue we are already in the midst of WWIII with the naval warfare and piracy against the RF tanker ships, and the closure of the Hormusz straits, and coming closure of the Red Sea straits too, the attack on Russian oil docks in the Baltic Sea and Gulf of Finland, the air and sea war against Iran, the NATO attacks on RF, the destruction of US bases in Iraq and the Gulf States, etc., etc).

The serious Iranian AD is still mostly MIA.

It’s mostly 358s and smaller SAMs shooting down the MALE drones.

But that stuff doesn’t have the altitude and range to take out an MQ-4C and other HALE drones, or the bombers the US is flying in the Persian gulf.

That remains the big question of this war at the moment. Did the Iranians stash all their serious AD away in the deepest bunkers and will reactivate it when the US tries to do overflights at scale? Because that is what will decide the war — if the US manages to do that, Iran is toast. Or the systems have indeed been taken out?

The curious thing is that there has been no footage of Iranian AD systems being taken out in this war. There was plenty of such footage in June when they were taken out by FPVs on the ground. None this time I can recall. One would think it would be posted if it existed. It is possible that the system was severely degraded back in June and did not have time to recover meaningfully. And, of course. China and Russia did not thing to help.

But one still has reasons to hope it is a case of them preserving resources, knowing that they were never going to repell the massive salvos of cruise missiles anyway, but the cruise missiles are going to run out eventually.

P.S. They report shooting down cruise missiles daily. So some kind of non-trivial AD is operating, and that gives more reasons to be hopeful.

From ZH:

Iran says this is in response to its tall B1 bridge being attacked earlier in the day: Top targets include critical north-south rail chokepoints in Israel, especially the Yarkon Bridge, reportedly carrying most heavy IDF transport, and the Jezreel tunnel, seen as the only key route for moving fuel and ammunition inland from the Port of Haifa.
Iran media also listed an alternative logistics lifeline: the overland corridor stretching from Jebel Ali through Saudi Arabia and Jordan into Israel. With sea routes under pressure, this desert corridor has become essential to Israeli logistics.
Other reported targets include the Port of Haifa itself – the country’s primary trade and maritime hub – and the Rehout station, a central node channeling cargo to frontline areas. A large oil refinery in Haifa has already been attacked (more than once) earlier in the war. Gulf targets have also been added to the list, after on Thursday the IRGC said it initiated an attack on an Amazon Cloud computing center in Bahrain.

Why in the heck are any of those “still” targets?  It’s almost like Iran is too civilized.  They’re great people, and people with knowledge told me Tehran was a great place to live, better than any city in the Former West, besides the water problems from the drought.  But c’mon man.  They hit your fuel storage around Tehran, took out South Pars, civilian targets, and hit the water desal on an island.
What strategic targets has Iran hit in Israel?  Closest was the Haifa refinery, but I saw the photos and they hit a gasoline tank.  Refinery is still running.
And how does Israel still have an airforce and jet fuel tankage?  Like I said, Iran is too civilized.  Hitting strategical logistics in Israel would also benefit Hezbollah.

There is a prevailing sentiment among some posters here that Putin is either ‘Zionist’ or overly deferential to Zionist interests, often citing the ‘slow-roll’ of the Ukrainian conflict and his refusal to back Iran more overtly as proof. This article Russia is a ‘pleasant place’ for Jews – chief rabbi regarding his relationship with Chief Rabbi Berel Lazar certainly provides fodder for that perspective.
However, I think it’s a mistake to conflate domestic religious diplomacy with existential military strategy. Unlike Iran, which is in a hot, direct existential struggle with the US and Israel, Russia is managing an indirect existential war with NATO. Putin’s strategy appears designed to achieve Russia’s core security objectives while strictly minimizing casualties and avoiding a total regional conflagration. It isn’t ‘slow’ due to hidden loyalties; it’s slow by design to ensure Russia outlasts the West without depleting its own future.

Posted by: GM | Apr 2 2026 17:25 utc | 72

Well if I were IRGC, the thinking might go like thisIsrael has an estimated 3,600 bridges

Iran has an estimated 32,000 bridges

Based on playing the long, hard and protracted war! we will systematicly (think of weaving a carpet) destroy Israel.

We don’t want to do everything in 1 blow! that isn’t any fun… we will inflict pain, and bleed them slowly.

Think of it like a popular Netflix TV-Show, you need to keep the audience hitched, addicted to the show, with multiple series, not just a single episode.

Worth noting that 70-80% of the sticker price for fuel in Europe is tax of one form or another.
The rising price improves government finances and also provides flexibility for mitigating the price shock.
Not sure the same is true in the US – and Americans aren’t used to paying a lot for their gas…

Posted by: ChatNPC | Apr 2 2026 17:29 utc | 74

That’s a sharp observation, GM. If I get your thoughts correctly, it frames the ‘Zionist’ critique as a misunderstanding of sequence. Putin isn’t necessarily protecting Israel out of sentiment; he’s avoiding a move that destroys the European ‘rear’ before the new multipolar architecture is fully in place. The ‘slow-roll’ becomes a way of boiling the frog without shattering the pot

There’s the Brooklyn Bridge, the Golden Gate Bridge, the George Washington Bridge, and many others. Maybe if  a large enough group of Americans were sufficiently disgusted by these  criminal actions being committed in their name by the US they could be mobilized to carry out overwhelming and subversive acts against such US landmarks. Weathermen kind of group. Shock and Awe needs to come to the US before any serious change in foreign policy becomes possible.

400 shekels, 30 pieces of silver, a pound of flesh… it’s always sly deals and angles, leverage and concealed motives. It is often said Christ was Jewish. True enough, but he was also the Son of Man. He knew to become one one had to renounce the other, to stand in for all humans, not a petty part of it, clinging to an ancient grievance, loaded with resentment. How like them to bring in the death penalty for certain members of the old tribe. Crucifixion perhaps? They can’t resist having a dig on this Friday can they. Vindictive is too weak a word to express the darkness gnawing at their hearts. “Forgive our debts as we forgive those who owe us”. Christ’s proclamation of the new jubilee must be a letting go… of everything. To be human means to rise out of the resentments and blindness of each unique situation that limit us.

It’s also the case that Israeli architecture is degenerate. Homogenous, repetitive and thoughtless designs lacking any aesthetic sensibility have become the norm. Israeli architectural design is even known as “brutalism” (aptly named) which grew from the 1950s usage of raw, reinforced concrete to create rapid, cost-effective public housing and institutions that symbolized “a strong, new nation.”

They say the architecture is a reflection of the people and vice versa.

I would add: the old testament is not a Christian document.  It’s a pre Christian document of the Jewish religion and is completely at odds with everything Jesus said.
Imho: Any serious Christian would recognize this obvious fact and organize its church on that basis.  I’m not convinced there are any real Christians anymore, despite all the churches and proclamations of faith.
