War On Iran – Regional Participation – U.S. Blames Israel

As the war on Iran continues it is getting even more difficult to assess the operational losses and the damage caused by either side. All parties, Iran, Israel, the U.S. and various Gulf countries, practice information warfare and censorship. They exaggerate their successes and do not admit their losses.

It makes little sense then to make any statements about the progress of the war as it unfolds on the ground. We will have to  wait and look for irrefutable evidence before guessing the outcome.

A month ago the Supreme Leader of Iran Ali Khamenei had warned that any attack on Iran would develop into a regional war. He could have added that it would have global consequences.

Khamenei’s prediction has -to some extend-  come true. Iran has attacked various U.S. bases in western Gulf countries. The U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was hit. Hizbullah in Lebanon has launched drones against a U.S./British base in Cyprus. Israel is invading Lebanon and the West Bank. Iraqi militia have launched attacks on U.S. bases in Iraq and Iraqi Kurdistan. Locals have attacked U.S. consulates in Pakistan.

But the Gulf countries themselves have not yet entered the war. They have spent their air defense after defending against missile and drone attacks on U.S. bases.  They are now low on ammunition and the U.S. is in no position to back their needs.

Several small hits have been reported against oil infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. Iran has denied to have attacked those sites. It is possible that Israel or the U.S. is launching these strikes to incite the Gulf states to more actively join their attack on Iran. I doubt that they are stupid enough to do so.

The Strait of Hormuz is closed. Qatar has stopped its production of Liquefied Petroleum Gas. Iraq is throttling its oil production as its storage capacity in Basra is full as no tankers arrive to load its products. All together some 20% of the daily global oil and gas production has been cut off or is endangered. Global oil and gas prices have already increased dramatically and are likely to rise further. Gas stocks in Europe are low as are oil reserves in India. A long war may well threaten the economic and social well being in those regions.

In its usual amateurish ways the Trump administration is trying to blame Israel (vid) for the start of the war:

Rubio: There was absolutely an imminent threat and it was that we knew that if Iran was attacked and we believe that they would be attacked, that they would immediately come after us and we were not going to sit there and absorb a blow

So the U.S. had to ‘pre-emptivly’ attack Iran because Israel was going to attack Iran?

The New York Times is trying to support that meme with the opening line of its tick-tock report about the start of the war  placing the blame (archived) on the U.S. proxy:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of Israel walked into the Oval Office on the morning of Feb. 11, determined to keep the American president on the path to war. …

But who ordered two aircraft carrier and some 250 U.S. attack planes to the Middle East? Who had urgently wished for Israel to attack Iran to have an excuse to join the fight?

Just a week ago Politico reported:

Senior advisers to President Donald Trump would prefer Israel strike Iran before the United States launches an assault on the country, according to two people familiar with ongoing discussions.

These Trump administration officials are privately arguing that an Israeli attack would trigger Iran to retaliate, helping muster support from American voters for a U.S. strike.

The calculus is a political one — that more Americans would stomach a war with Iran if the United States or an ally were attacked first.

It is easy to blame Israel for this war but all the means to wage it, and the decision to launch it, were coming from the White House. The war was not started and is not fought for Israel but to advance the global position of the United States.

Rubio and Trump just want to cover their asses by misdirecting the anger of their MAGA follower over the war towards Israel. It is doubtful that any of them will swallow that nonsense.

It is the U.S. which wants to ‘regime change’ Iran. The chance to do that by air-power is zero. Their is also no proxy force, internally or externally, that would be willing to fight a ground war within Iran. Thus the U.S. campaign is destined become a failure.

This war will not stop unless either side feels the pain …. they feel the pain, but the usa have not felt it the way iran and isreal are feeling it…until then it will be business as usual.

I doubt the Iranians will accept a negotiated ending to this. The US and Israel are the source of all problems in the middle east. At least, all the major problems. I think the only way this will end is when the US has left the Persian Gulf. Though it is a bit worrying wondering how far Trump will go rather than lose.

Posted by: Peter AU1 | Mar 3 2026 17:33 utc | 5

The outcome and possible consequences for the various participants is impossible to predict. No one predicted the war in Ukraine would last more than four years. It almost ended after a month, but this was prevented by western powers. Eventually the consequences in this one will become apparent, but war is an inheritently unpredictable endeavor.

“It makes little sense then to make any statements about the progress of the war as it unfolds on the ground.” I agree, but all the signs point to it having gone wrong almost from the start. The markets are slow to catch up, but I’m sure that will change as Friday approaches. I wonder if Trump will cross the Rubicon by putting “boots on the ground”?

I give up. The US is evil. Americans are mostly selfish little shits and religious crazies. This will end with either a US economic collapse or a nuclear war started by the US. Trump and half of his cabinet are clearly insane – desperate criminal sexual perverts or jewish/christian zealots who should be cloistered off from sane people. Bombing little girls for Jesus…. my fucking God. I’ll never openly admit to being a US citizen again.

Trump should rightfully be arrested, tried for child rape and the most serious war crimes, and executed. I would video his hanging and broadcast it all over the world.

From what I can tell, Iran’s heaviest and most effective strikes have been falling in Bahrain. It appears they have effectively destroyed most or all-American facilities there and that the remaining American uniforms are now in hiding, dispersed to safe houses by the host government while they await rescue. The Bahraini people are rising up once against their government, the GCC is (once again) deploying infantry to suppress them, and Iran is striking and trying to shut down the al Fahd bridge connecting Bahrain to Saudi by which these reinforcements are supplied.
Israel is making a major ground offensive in south Lebanon, using reservist assets who are redeployed from Gaza. They now outnumber Hezbollah’s defender on that front. But Hezbollah’s hardened defenses, their demonstrated superiority against Israeli armor and infantry tactics shown earlier in the war, should ensure this front is a quagmire for Israel.
The Gulf monarchies have no defense of their oil infrastructure and Iran is so far forbearing by not destroying it, presumably in an attempt to enlist their diplomatic pressure. But if that pressure were meaningfully effective, things never would’ve gotten so far in the first place. Iran needs to bankrupt the monarchies. Total war. If Israel is willing to follow through on their nuclear blackmail, millions may die, but the cost for them will be far worse.

Ritter’s interview with Garland has some important points. Part of the American problem is military doctrine inherited from WWII. It is atavistic. However, another part is unquestioning faith in systems, especially AI, which really means “Artificial Idiocy”. AI is a way of not thinking but no AI can actually think and rely on datasets which are abstractions not necessarily connected to reality So the Americans used AI in Caracas, which resulted in a lot of civilian casualties, precision weapons hitting the wrong targets We see that in Iran also. The school that was hit and two hospitals were AI-marked as IRGC properties which indeed they once were since the IRGC has a lot social infrastructure covering health and welfare AIs provide for heuristic response — and require critical thought and questioning to be useful. In a wartime system reliance on such systems leads to defeat.

And what exactly is the global position of the United States, b?
Check out the UN resolutions on Israel and its terrible actions. US veto every fucking time. The US has its political balls held by Mosaad via Epstein, AIPAC, and a bevvy of monetary overlords who all belong to a certain group (not religion). Its military balls are held by the politicians, so of course its fought for Israel.
What is the Balfour declaration and who is it addressed to? Who has controlled Western nations for centuries behind the thrones, parliaments and legislatures? The money lenders. The bankers.
Who was given control of banking because Christianity condemned usury?
Israel is the face and construct of the parasites (pharisees) who hide amongst the Jews because Judaism provides the perfect shelter. Ashkenazis. Khazars. Bankers. Money.

So just some comments:

1. Pakistan’s support of KSA is the clear “they paid for our nukes, some belong to them, tread lightly”, possible advantage, can be also KSA saying “we will NOT attack iran (at least seriously, so don’t respond seriously)”

2. Yes there is, at least in israel, an effective media blackout, no news about state of haifa port, desalinization plants or military bases. Now… everyone has assets and comms, there are chinese an russian sattelites, this means there is an implicit agreement on current situation (hell, china had to gag the private companies so it goes beyond not sharing state information.

3, Yes, someone is trying to frame iran for attacks that might upset the arab nations and drive them to engage. That would be an error, kings and emirs in the area can lose much if they force iran to really strike and/or destabilize them.

4. Turkey… Is Erdogan too greedy for his own good? I’d bet he’s not ukraine stupid (for his own good). Sell canon fodder is a bad deal.

5. Last question, wag the dog ? One question I asked earlier, what if , apart from the china angle, the idea is to reassert the vassal status of all vassal states (including israel) , it might fire back, but if it works the “you’re nothing without the us” would be a win (but some talks with RF and point 1 might show they didn’t think their cunning plan quite through)

Thoughts?

The only thing to worry about here is a false flag.

Posted by: Arch Bungle | Mar 3 2026 18:08 utc | 43

It’s very simple.

The Ashkenazi hold power in the West, and what we see is an expression of their desires and obsessions.

They hate Russians and Ukrainians, and Russians and Ukrainians are dying.

The Ukrainian gambit was (A) an rresistible temptation and (B) a risk-free gamble thanks to VP. A Russian patriot would have played the game very differently, and NATO would have sat down to negotiate.

And they hate the Persians, and we’re already seeing that.

And so it goes.

“The British Ministry of Defence was reported on March 3 to have decided to dispatch the Type 45 class destroyer HMS Duncan to Cyprus to help defend British military facilities there, after several reports indicated that multiple Iranian drones had targeted RAF Akrotiri, a major Royal Air Force base. Although Type 45 class destroyers are scheduled to be modernised with subsystems and new missiles that will allow them to defend against ballistic missile attacks under the Sea Viper Evolution Programme, this will only meet required standards in the late 2030s or early 2040s. Thus while the deployment of a Type 45 class destroyer will represent a show of force, its practical utility remains limited. Moreover, Iran’s advanced anti-ship ballistic missile capabilities may lead it to escalate by seeking to fire on the vessel, which represents a high value target for such strikes.
https://militarywatchmagazine.com/article/britain-air-defence-destroyer-iranian-strikes

There are probably lots of ‘high value targets’ still around for the Iranians, but a practically defenceless English one might be especially tempting!

It is good to read that Trump’s dependence on his Jewish donors and Aipac lobbying is only one aspect and that preparing the ground for an unprovoked US war of aggression against Iran via ‘Israel’ is another. Finally, the interests of ‘big money’, which form (more than) the basis of US ‘politics’, are another aspect. Perhaps the reason for this war is a kind of vector addition, and there are a number of goals being pursued by various interest groups.

One of the objectives I have already mentioned could be to close the Strait of Hormuz in order to bring down the global economy and install a new financial system. Another could be to elevate the US war against the BRICS countries to the nuclear level by creating a situation in which ‘Israel’ will resort to nuclear weapons. Yet another goal could be to get rid of the amateurish Trump administration.

We will see.

I do not consider it necessary (nor impossible) to know all the damage done so far to all sides involved in order to conclude that the goal of overwhelming Iran cannot be achieved with the means available. I suspect that Iran will not enter into so-called ‘negotiations’ again, but will fight with the support of Russia and China and its other partners until the US-Americans have completely left the region and, hopefully, the state of ‘Israel’ has collapsed.

Recalling the unprovoked war of aggression against the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro) in 1999, which capitulated at the end to avoid further damage to the country, it was very impressive to watch the long columns of Serbian tanks leaving their lost province of Kosovo and Metohia – after NATO had bombed its victim unhindered for about 90 days, destroying mainly Russian plastic tank dummies regarding the military equipment…

Trump Denies Israel Forced US’s Hand On Iran Strike — Adds ‘I Might’ve Forced Their Hand’
“Did Israel force your hand to launch these strikes against Iran? Did Netanyahu pull the United States into this war?” Scott asked.
“No, I might’ve forced their hand,” Trump responded. “You see, we were having negotiations with these lunatics and it was my opinion that they were going to attack first, they were going to attack first. They were going to attack if we didn’t do it. They were going to attack first, I felt strongly about that.”
Did Trump really say ‘these lunatics’ about Israel or does he mean the previous negotiations with Iran by ‘lunatics’

A source familiar with the discussions described the conversations as “sensitive.”➡️ The outreach followed months of quiet lobbying by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as Israel has maintained longstanding security, military, and intelligence ties with Kurdish groups in Syria, Iraq, and Iran.➡️ One official said Netanyahu believes the Kurds could “come out of the woodwork” and rise up, adding that during lengthy meetings with Trump he appeared confident he had mapped out a succession plan and calculated how many Kurdish factions and fighters might mobilize.➡️ While U.S. policymakers think Netanyahu may have overestimated how many Kurds would take up arms against Iran, one official said the possibility “isn’t nothing.”• Tabz Alternative MediaThis is how Kurds get crushed and abandoned..@Slavyangrad

There is something VERY wrong with this mess that defies rational belief.
Why did the Russians refuse to activate their S400 and EW weapons systems? Did Trump promise to lift sanctions as rumored? You would have to be a moron to believe that crap would happen.  Does that mean Putin may just be the WEF plant that’s been rumored to keep Russia under control until they have no allies and are totally surrounded and fucked? Why haven’t the ChiComs activated the DF 21 carrier killers? This is the perfect testing opportunity so they know when we come for them if their shit works or not.
Iran hitting all the middle east bases are all well and good but why not hit us in our homeland, we are the softest target on the planet and we are fucking pretty much every country we can and still NONE of them hit us here, WHY???
And now the Israelis various ministers are talking about Turkey now being the next greatest threat to them!! Bet they are just weeks away from getting nukes also. If Erdogan doesn’t have Nukes, he better get them fast…
This looks more and more like a plan and a distraction?????

@16 patroklos

Thx.

The Guardian errs, however, where it begins talking about JD Vance and expressing knowledge of the man.

JD Vance is as transparent as they come. Around 2010, Vance became the protégé of David Frum, Jewish neocon speech writer for W who coined the term “axis-of-evil.” Thanks to Fuentes for covering this angle in last night’s show.

As for Trump, he cut his geopolitical teeth in the 80s and it is obvious the Beiruit Marine Barracks bombing made a lasting impression. One could probably surmise an arrested development after the fact, as he has exhibited no intellectual curiosity to understand the MENA since then.

In his first term, even his brief friendship with N. Koreas was probably just a trial balloon, willing to try another angle to destabilize China and its allies. It obviously didn’t pan out so we hear nothing of their dalliance (Kim Jong Un and Trump).

Well, when failing is the only thing one can do, what choice does one have. Fail better, I suppose! The US can at least do that.

Does Iran really have DF-21? That would be a huge surprise to me.
Also, I’m not sure whether Russia already exported S-400 to Iran. S-300 (probably PM or PMU from the 90s), yes, but S-400?

If you’re talking about Iran, then Russia is on record as saying that they offered more help to Iran, but it was turned down. (The Chinese imply a similar situation). The Iranians reckon they can handle it all themselves with what they have now, and so far they seem to be correct – by report they have thousands more missiles than the UK and Nazio land put together. If they pull it off unaided they will put themselves very far up the combat pecking ladder.

American soldiers are being told by their commanders that a war with Iran is “Armageddon” and the “return of Jesus”, and Trump is the “anointed one of God”, according to American journalist Jonathan Larsen.
According to his information, the commander of one of the US Army’s combat units told junior officers that a war with Iran is part of God’s plan and that President Donald Trump was “anointed by Jesus to light a signal fire in Iran, which will trigger Armageddon and mark his return to Earth”.

For a real treat, listen to Professor Jiang Xueqin, about this conflict. See it when you are not rushed, since you really need to listen and think about what he says. He will explain why this is the start of WW3 with a class room style presentation. Give him some slack about him not knowing the prices and names of the correct US interceptor missiles; and you will be fine. He is a Chinese-Canadian educator known for geopolitical predictions with almost 1.4 million subscribers called Predictive History. This guy has a great track record and this is the first part of his predictions about this Gulf War. I guarantee that after watching, you will have a different view about this conflict: or your money back. It is 45 minutes long.

I haven’t commented in a while, but here it goes:So I realize it is still early, and the full damage profile across the war theater has yet to come into focus. But it seems to me that if Iran holds out, continues to constrict the flow of oil, and its system of leadership succession proves robust, then the implications for Iran may become quite dire. Here is what occurred to me that pushes me in that direction — and I am sure others have already said some version of this.Given the way this administration operates, I do not see it backing down. As we both know, it has too much at stake in preserving its ability to command others to fall in line. Any open admission of failure — whether in its immediate war aims or in its broader hegemonic project — would only further embolden the other captured states of the so-called “rules-based order” to defy the American hand. American power to dictate and play big-boy hegemon depends on keeping those partner states disciplined and compliant.
If that is right, and if Iran refuses talks, continues to function as a state, and continues to resist, then the logic becomes very dark indeed: the only remaining way to force capitulation may be to inflict devastation on the order of what the Americans did to Japan. I can too easily imagine Tehran, Isfahan, or some other major city being nuked. I cannot dismiss that possibility, because from the American vantage point it may come to seem like the only way out of a dilemma in which its allies run out of the room.

Yes, the fog remains thick in places. Maradi while chatting with Nima today made the point that MSM items about Iran are virtually the same from the mid-1980s to today–same Orientalist POV, same juvenile rhetoric, and so forth. The strategic method employed by Itan they call Mosaic as each missile city represents one tile in the whole. This is similar to how the Outlaw US Empire spread its assets in the region as each functions as a part of the whole. That the naval base in Bahrain is being hit the most now is sensible since its facilities are easier to terminate than that of an air base, although the Qatar installation will eventually get similar attention. CIA bases are also being hit and that includes their main bases that are within US Embassies. Kuwait’s being hit because it houses the elements of control over Iraq, and that’s the same reason why bases in Iraqi Kurdistan are being hit. Unfortunately, the Iraqi police don’t know they need to join the rising against the occupiers instead of defending them. Iran’s attacks on the Zionists are smaller yet more concentrated, although there’s little confirmation of their effectiveness given the very heavy info blackout. IMO, as AD ammo is consumed, I expect many more drone attacks similar to what we’re seeing in Bahrain and Qatar. South Korea said the Empire was going to pull its THADD systems from there for use in Palestine, and I presume that would also go for those in Japan too.

The selective closure of Hormuz was discussed yesterday, and that will continue. Iran reported it used a naval drone to hit the port facility in Oman. Apparently, Iran attacked eight different ships within the Persian Gulf linked to US interests. And it appears the USS Lincoln carrier group has retreated further away into the Indian Ocean. Brent crude spiked to $85 and was shorted down to $82 currently. Metals were also shorted initially. A pattern is appearing where a short squeeze happens at the open and later the shorts attack again to lower prices. However, most energy markets are up 5% and appear to be steady at that gain D/D. At that rate, Brent ought to be in the lower $90s by Friday close.
