Moon of Alabama Brecht quote
March 9, 2026
War On Iran – Oil Prices Lag Supply Deficit – Arab’s Won’t Fight Iran – Khamenei Son Succeeds Father

Iraq has shut down some oil wells. As have Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, the Emirates and Saudi Arabia.

Qatar has also shut down is gas wells and the process ‘trains’ needed to liquefy natural gas.

All this because of the virtual closure of the Strait of Hormuz and because of potential missile and drone attacks on the fragile production installations.

While oil and LPG prices have increased the global markets have not yet recognized the length and severity of the supply crunch these shut downs will cause. Prices, currently in the high $90/bl, will need to get much higher ($150+/bl) to cause an equivalent demand destruction.

Even if the war on Iran would stop tomorrow and if the Strait would reopen immediately it would take many weeks until the supplies would be back to normal levels.

Oil wells, once shut down, often require rework to open them up again. The bore of an unused the well may close up, sediments may block the oil flow, valves start to fail. It means that drilling rigs will need to be setup at each of the wells with days of rework needed to re-establish its outflow. There are thousands of wells that have been shut down.

Qatar’s liquefaction of natural gas is a special problem as the process to create Liquefied Petroleum Gas is quite complex:

The first step on the onshore facilities is the separation of condensate from gas. The separated condensate is stabilised and sent to storage to await export. The natural gas then flows to the liquefaction trains for processing into LNG. During the first phase of this process, sulphur compounds, carbon dioxide, and water are removed in stages. The gas is then chilled using propane and mixed refrigeration processes.

The heavy hydrocarbons are separated out and fractionated into liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and plant condensate. The cryogenic main heat exchanger in each train then cools the gas to approximately – 150 °C, liquefying it in the process. Finally, as the pressure is reduced to almost zero, the temperature decreases to – 162 °C, nitrogen is removed and LNG is transferred to one of the storage tanks prior to being loaded into a LNG vessel.

When a liquefaction train shuts down all the product in it will have to be removed. The whole cryogenic chain, once stopped, will warm up and will need to be cooled down again to its very low working temperatures. The metal structures involved do not react well, to say it mildly, to warming up and cooling down cycles. Failures will occur. Repairs will be needed.

It will take at least two months to revive the Qatari process trains. This of course only after the war has ended. Some 20% of the global LPG supply will thus be unavailable for a lengthy period of time.

The Arab Gulf states are miffed that Iran is targeting their countries. But it is them who allow the U.S. to use their sovereign space to attack Iran. Empty ATAMCS containers were found in the desert of Kuwait and Bahrain. The missiles were used by U.S. troops using HIMARS launchers to fire towards Iran. A recent failure by a U.S. bomber pilot to shut off his air transponder showed that Saudi airspace was used to refuel U.S. bombers for attacks in Iran.

The Gulf Arabs had recently sent a delegation to Russia to ask for support against Iran. Foreign Minister Lavrov ridiculed them for not condemning the U.S. attack on Iran and for their continued collaboration with U.S. forces.

The U.S. is pushing the Gulf Arabs to join its war on Iran. But officials in those countries are not as dumb as the U.S. might believe.

Former Qatari Prime Minister Hamad bin Jassin (machine translation):

America will withdraw from the battle as soon as we declare war on Iran, turning into an arms dealer selling to both sides. It will deplete our resources to bring down both sides; once both sides fall, it will be easy to achieve the ‘Greater Israel’ project. Our interest requires non-participation and letting them fight among themselves.

UAE billionaire Kalaf Al Habtoor (tweet now deleted) (machine translation):

I heard the statements of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, in which he calls on the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to enter this war, saying that we are also under attack and that we must join the fight. And I say to him clearly: We know full well why we are under attack, and we also know who dragged the entire region into this dangerous escalation without consulting those he calls his “allies” in the region.

We do not deny the Iranian threat to the region, which has become clear in recent days. We do not trust Iran. But this is a dirty game in which several powers clash at the expense of our region, with no honor in it and no transparency. In this scene, Iran, Israel, and the United States all move according to their own interests, not according to the interests of the peoples of the Middle Eastern Arab countries.

And for this reason, we say it clearly: We will not enter this war to serve the interests of others, nor will we sacrifice our sons in a conflict that could have been avoided through diplomacy and political solutions.

And the clearest thing of all is what Senator Graham himself said when he spoke about oil. He stated that Iran and Venezuela together hold 31% of global oil reserves, and that the United States could establish a partnership with this share of the world’s oil, and that it would be a “nightmare for China”—he even added that if the regime in Iran changes, there would be a “new Middle East,” and the United States would “make a lot of money.”

Only then does the picture become clear. And only then do we understand why they want this war.

Lindsay Graham’s talk on Fox News on Sunday is here. Aljazeerah provides a write up of it.)

The U.S. has ordered diplomatic staff to leave Saudi Arabia. During the last 24 hours U.S. tanker planes, which had been operating from Saudi airstrips, have left the country:

The decision to disperse KC-135 aerial refueling tankers from Prince Sultan Air Base follows a sustained Iranian missile and drone campaign targeting U.S.-linked military infrastructure across the Gulf, exposing the operational vulnerability of centralized logistics nodes that are essential to American airpower projection.

My hunch is that the Saudis, in no uncertain terms, asked the U.S. to leave.

Lindsey Graham @LindseyGrahamSC – 15:38 UTC · Mar 9, 2026

The American Embassy is being evacuated in Riyadh because of sustained attacks by Iran against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

It is my understanding the Kingdom refuses to use their capable military as a part of an effort to end the barbaric and terrorist Iranian regime who has terrorized the region and killed 7 Americans.

Question – why should America do a defense agreement with a country like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that is unwilling to join a fight of mutual interest?

Hopefully this changes soon. If not, consequences will follow.

Iran and Hizbullah continue to hit targets in Israel. Several recent videos showed missile impacts without prior warning. The Israeli early warning and missile defense system seems to be damaged.

Israel has called up reservists and is preparing a heavy division for another invasion of Lebanon. Hizbullah is ready to welcome it.

The Assembly of Experts of Iran has voted for Ayatollah Seyyed Mojtaba Khamenei, the son of the martyred Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, to take up his fathers job. Throughout the last decade Mojtaba had been the unofficial chief of office for Ali Khamenei. He is thus knowledgeable of the details required for the position. Western media describe Mojtaba Khamenei as a ‘hardliner’ with little to back up that qualification.

It is unlikely that Mojtaba would have been elected if Al Khamenei had died a natural death. His election demonstrates continuity and defiance.

As someone snarked:

It took the U.S. 20 years to replace the Taliban with the Taliban, but only 9 days to replace Khamenei with Khamenei

From a report written during the Covid-19 shutdown

Oil companies know that the decision to shut down for an extended period has three serious consequences:

  • reopened wells may never return to their previous production rate
  • pumping equipment must be repaired and refitted at great cost
  • other facilities, such as refineries and pipelines, cannot be kept in operation without some minimal level of production.

Trump accused Iran of bombing the girls school, killing 160 people, mostly children, because Iran’s missiles aren’t as accurate as US missiles. The fact it’s now been proven that it was a US missile must therefore mean that the US MEANT to bomb a school, because US missiles are so accurate, according to Trump. Still no apology from the Americans, unsurprisingly.

I don’t know what MSM means by hardliner but certainly appears that Syed Imam Mojtaba Khamenei leans towards the conservative side.  He is young and has full backing of the IRGC.  The US/Israelis murdered his father, mother, wife and son.  I don’t think he will back down or enter into negotiations unlike the reformists.  And it appears he doesn’t share his late father’s antipathy towards acquiring nuclear weapons.  I think he will see to it that the US is completely expelled from the Middle East.

regarding the lack of warning time for the recent attacks on Isreal, In the past week, Iran has destroyed 5 major radar/satellite communication arrays (AN/TPY-2 THAAD Radar (Jordan), AN/FPS-132 Early Warning Radar (Qatar), AN/TPY-2 THAAD Radar (UAE), AN/GSC-52B Radars (Bahrain), AN/TPY-2 THAAD Radar (Saudi Arabia)) these are systems are foundational to the US air defense, communication network for the entire Middle East.  The AN/GSC-52B Radar was worth over 1 billion dollars alone and had a coverage range of over 5000km.  While the US does has other shorter range systems, the lost of these radars has significant reduced warning times for drone and missile attacks from Iran on US bases in the region (from 20 mins to 3 mins in Israel for example).

1) Peak Oil Price was $145/barrel in 2008. Inflation adjusted in 2026, that would be $225/barrel.

2) Also note that Israel shut down its offshore oil platforms. (last June a couple of them got knocked out)

it seems to me the middle east leaders – authoritarian dictators who kowtow to all of the usas demands essentially – are only interested in saving their own ass and bank accounts… they could give a rats ass about the people of these regions… and if this is an example of islam – which i don’t think it is – it really says how poorly they think of their own world view as having any relevance here… so ksa woke up?? i wouldn’t bet on it… again – doing everything they can to save their own ass is all it is..

and the west think islam has a bad rap.. if all the western stooges can do is rubber stamp usa-israel 24-7, then we in the west deserve everything we get here as well  – as a consequence of our own misguided and mistaken world view…  wars are horrible.. i was thinking last night and this morning of those iranians in the ship outside india being murdered and drowning at sea… what for?? this stupid couple of egotistical leaders – trump / netanyahu – fulfilling the  epstein class demands for a financial empire at all costs – death and destruction is of no concern to any of these leaders, including my own apparent one – mark carney… we are essentially fucked here in the west…

“This is essential for international trade,” Macron said in Cyprus, adding that oil and gas must be able “to leave this region once again.” He also declared that “when Cyprus is attacked, it is Europe that is attacked.

🔹 The aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle is deployed in the eastern Mediterranean.

🔹 France says the naval operation includes eight frigates and two amphibious helicopter carriers across the eastern Mediterranean, Red Sea and Hormuz region.

🔹 French warships are already participating in the EU’s Operation Aspides, a naval mission launched in 2024 to protect commercial vessels from attacks in the Red Sea.

The big mouths and bigger egos of Graham and Huckabee have not only let the cat out of the bag but have painted a very complete picture for GCC rulers to see that’s completely against their interest. Yes, their ambassador’s got dressed down very well by Lavrov with what some have described as tough love. Despite that, GCC rulers now see Russia as more powerful than the Outlaw US Empire in the Gulf region and with Russia comes China. The big dilemma for GCC rulers is their investment portfolio in the Empire which has the very real possibility of becoming a total loss. Likewise are US corporate assets within the GCC that Iran aims to eliminate as part of its goal to eject all Empire related assets from the region.

All Shi’a leaders have now issued fatwas calling for jihad in support of Iran, and IMO that will have a major impact on events in Iraq. Hezbollah’s been performing very well. An important fact is Iran’s 91 million people are spread out across the nation aside from the 10 million or so that live in the Tehran metro region, meaning the USZionists need to target an area the size of Europe, while Occupied Palestine houses about 7.5 million Zionists 75% of whom are concentrated in Tel Aviv and Haifa metro areas making it far easier for Iran to concentrate its attacks. Today, I saw video showing Zionists hacking down their CCTV cameras because they don’t want anyone to know the very real damage being inflicted upon them.

And the economic damage continues to escalate, particularly amongst four key US East Asian satraps–South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and Philippines–all of whom are massively dependent on Persian Gulf energy imports. That factor along with EU dependence brings the possibility of shifting the geopolitical balance away from the Outlaw US Empire since Trump has made clear he doesn’t care if the world enters a massive depression caused by his war. Hegseth’s vow to “show no mercy” merely reinforces the Epstein Class’s total lack of empathy–something that won’t be lost on the world for many years to come given the misery that will ensue.

I believe any declaration of victory by anyone is premature. We are still in the early innings.

The one thing I have concluded is that victory for Iran hinges on keeping the Strait closed. They have to bring the pain at any cost. Their lack of any large missile barrages these last four days is frankly concerning. No, they haven’t stopped but Iran is only been throwing one or two missiles where they were initially throwing twenty. That’s not good. But ultimately that can be mitigated by keeping the door shut to the Strait. It might take a month, but after that month they will have brought the world economy to it’s knees.  It’s the key to everything.

Can iran be conquered? Not without ground troops. Can it be razed? Unlikely with stand-off weapons (short of nukes).

Can the us survive a longer war? Likely. Can israel or europe? Unlikely.

Can the local monarchies? Some might end if things continue this way….

Was it wise to start this? Unlikely….

Now for some additional considerations. RF has sustained the nato attrition all by itself so far, would iran accept to go for the long(ish) run? How will china play this out?

Under heavy censorship there’s no way of knowing how low stocks of AD munitions have fallen. The Gulf states had 4 days remaining roughly 3-4 days ago. This may account for the flurry of repositioning and public disavowals of support for the USA.

Of course the entire Petrodollar system depends on the US deploying the military (paid for by those petrobucks) to defend the Gulf. It is bordering on comic that they turn to Russia for those guarantees, but the reality has sunk in. The collapse of the petrodollar will now follow. The metrics of this collapse are beyond my expertise to track, but the days of US superpower projection are numbered.

PS. It is a sign of the degree to which Australia’s military and bureaucracy have been completely captured by the US that the PM is sending the RAAF to ‘help’. The contrast with 2003 is interesting: at that time 1.5 million people demonstrated in Sydney against Australia’s involvement in Bush’s war. Not a ripple now. The difference is the completely loss of internet (information) sovereignty and an utterly depoliticized and apathetic Gen Z who haven’t a clue about Iran much less care about it.

Oil prices been dropping past few hours, but if iran wants it blows up oil infrastructure. Then we can see higher prices for years until everything is back up and running normal.

Some are suggestion to find an off-ramp but it takes two right? If Iran keeps launching missiles then the war will continue. This should be Iran’s final war. Demand unconditional surrender, no US bases in Middle East, Israel leaves Gaza, Westbank and all other occupied land, nuclear disarmament and inspection, what else comes to mind. Until then we could be in for a long war.

quote from page 277 of a book i have just finished reading.. written in 2011 – A Culture of Ambiguity, an Alternative History of Islam by Thomas Bauer..

quote –

“The example of modern Iran is instructive. In 1979, this Islamic country freed itself through its own efforts from one of the worst Near Eastern dictatorships — and promptly became the archenemy  of the West, which brought about sanctions and armed the still worse Iraqi dictator, inciting him to a war against Iran that led to millions of victims. particularly strange afterwards was the West’s amazement that in Ian, the liberal forces had still failed to prevail!

Even today, the situation has not fundamentally changed. Several Islamic states are occupied by Western troops, the occupation and colonization of Palestine by Israel is almost unquestioningly tolerated by the West; almost all countries between the Atlantic Ocean and India make military bases available to the United States and other Western countries and those that do not comply are ( or were, until recently) assigned to an “axis of evil.”  Every Near Eastern politician who merely uses the word “Islam” is considered to be an Islamist and hence an enemy of the West. Free elections in the Near East are not wanted by the West, which fears the danger of a victory of Islamist parties. In every Near Eastern region where the tender plant of democracy was seen to sprout a little too much, leading to strong showings by Islam-oriented parties, there followed either sanctions and boycotts or military interventions. This is not a good soil for a skeptical worldview of multiple perspectives.”

The cost of war is around 20 billion a day for the military operation in Iran. Whatever number that they can put out is a lie because they cook the numbers by deduction. Minus Operational daily cost and old bombs that were purchased before the operation. Minus this and that. Soon we will have a really small budget.

Faceing reality is sanity.

You missed a glaring problem on the oil side b.
the gulf has many different types of oil. Those different oils are used to create blends by refineries to optimize refining gains or even resolve incompatible crude stocks to enable cheaper blends to be used or to target yields of refined products. The loss of these is going to play havoc with refineries all over the world from them being unable to optimize yields towards desired products (say you need more diesel than gas) all the way to requiring months of retooling to be economically viable with different available feed stocks.

TOM BARRACK AFTER THE SECOND MAN IN THE REGION: HAKAN FİDAN
Former MIT guy İsa İlyasoğlu: “Tayyip Erdoğan and Hakan Fidan are trying to lure our nation into a trap and drag it into chaos. These are TRAITOROUS bastards! Listen (there’s swearing, sorry)
“Do you remember? I told you. That Hakan Fidan got trained in Ramstein, Germany, by the CIA, and they gave him a fake diploma from there, polished up this sergeant fucker, and then that diploma was the one America gave him, a phony one issued in Germany. Then in that master’s he did, the guy supposedly started the master’s before even finishing university. There’s fraud there too. For instance, the opposition isn’t pursuing this at all.

I’m the only one talking about this. In the end, Hakan Fidan was first brought to the MIT presidency so that all the redesign inside Turkey could be carried out by America, by the CIA, and by MOSSAD… Hakan Fidan had this look at Netanyahu. Remember that well. I shared it before. If you search on Google or go on YouTube, you’ll see how he looked at Netanyahu with utter admiration. How he looked with such love and sympathy.

Then this dishonorable, shameless bastard, after doing some serious redesign inside Turkey at the end of July 15th, now I said he was brought to the Foreign Ministry as this CIA agent trained by America for the redesign of the region. Heck, do you remember, Hakan Fidan even scored a goal on Tayyip Erdoğan by saying America isn’t giving the engines for these KAAN planes, that we can’t make them.

I said Tayyip Erdoğan’s power wouldn’t be enough to remove Hakan Fidan from the Foreign Ministry, and I was right. True, look, he couldn’t do it. Why couldn’t he? Because he’s America’s man. Hakan is a guy specially groomed by the CIA. Hakan Fidan is the grandson of the Celali tribe that started the Arab revolt.

This one with Khomeini… Yeah, the 69 revolution… Wait, in ’79 with Khomeini, this is the kid who entered Iran. His father was Khomeini’s bodyguard for 23 years. Who was Khomeini? Khomeini was agent number one for the CIA and MI6.

Those who don’t believe this—there’s a speech Yılmaz Özdil gave a few days ago. About how Khomeini was brought from Iran to Turkey by CIA and British agents and handed over to MIT members… How he stayed for 9 months in the home of a colonel who was an MIT member?

First in Ankara, if I’m not mistaken, 3 months in Ankara. Then 6 months in Bursa. In a special villa, a special house. MIT arranged this. Why? On your orders, I’m saying—it’s MIT. Not the whole of MIT is like that, but a significant part is the Ankara office working with the CIA.

The former MIT undersecretary Fuat Doğu even said:  “I didn’t run the MIT presidency, I ran the CIA’s Ankara bureau chief.” He said that.

That’s the situation. There are good guys right at the top, I won’t say anything about them, but it’s become an institution entirely working with the CIA, especially during Hakan Fidan’s time, and completely during İbrahim Kalın’s time too—MIT now has no difference from the CIA’s office in America.

Heck, it’s even more harmful for us. We need to see this clearly and understand it well. Yes, dear friends, so we really need to know who’s who. This Hakan Fidan is just like that. We have to be very careful with this guy.

You know Barak, Trump’s special envoy for the region. He’s the second man after Tom Barrack. Sheikh Hakan Fidan, Tayyip Erdoğan is a puppet there. They’re using him. Why is he using him? Because he can easily fool the Turkish people, the Turkish nation, with talk of religion, faith, God.

That’s his job. To fool the people, especially the AKP and MHP voters, this religious voter base, with God and religion, and pardon me, screw them over from behind, pardon my French, violate their honor. Am I making myself clear?

The Maga Messiah and Zionist staff are openly telling his supporters and the US populace in general to fuck off and he doesn’t give a fuck what any of us think.
The only thing in all this that still surprises me  is the Evangelical death cult still worships him and thinks he really is playing 4-D Chess and will save us all in the end.

Posted by: Patroklos | Mar 9 2026 18:23 utc | 31
Believe it or not, that’s exactly what has happened in the US itself.  I attended a protest in San Francisco in 2003 that was well over half a million strong!  Today, in an even more insane war for Israel: nothing.
As for the difference, I agree as to the Internet control, but disagree as to Gen Z.  The flower of their generation were beaten, trampled, debanked and deschooled for their intense opposition to the genocide in Gaza.  At this point, I expect they are still in shock and seriously considering their trust in the Democratic Party.  In essence, millions have realized they have no political vehicle or leadership that can channel their convictions into effective change.  The real change from 2003 is not the young slaves (more radical than ever, especially on Israel) but with the genocidal Imperialist Democratic Party.  In 2003, their agency moveon.org organized and promoted the anti war protests.  In 2023, their party carried out a genocide on “brown” people in conjunction with Israel.

…GCC rulers now see Russia as more powerful than the Outlaw US Empire in the Gulf region and with Russia comes China.

If this is true, then GCC will begin to withdraw from the war, presumably by asking Russia to mediate with Iran about its further demands for GCC rulers to divest in American bonds, stocks, etc, and to reprice their exports in something other than dollars. Presumably the ejection of US bases is a non-negotiable preliminary. Our host’s brief list of the possible huge monetary costs by divestment and de-dollarization needs one further item Namely, the US is an ally of the monarchs against their own people, to varying degrees according to the local conditions. It seems to me one of the reasons the Saudis in particular are so hostile to Iran, despite the famed Chinese mediation with IRI, is that they find the bourgeois democracy of IRI* is an example for their own population they find very threatening.

*IRI has a better claim to being a bourgeois democracy than the Zionist enterprise, though perhaps this view is controversial at MoA. It may be objected that a bourgeois democracy with an explicit minority veto over who can run for office and something of an established church is not a very advanced bourgeois democracy. This is true, but such imperfections have been quite common in the history of states whose status as plain and simple democracies still were never questioned. I think any such imperfections hardly match capitalist chattel slavery in America. But nobody with any sense thinks nineteenth century America was no more democratic than nineteenth century Russia. Some of the multitude of Trotskyists liked to speak of deformed workers’ state. So-called Stalinism was asserted to have caused the deformity. IRI could be considered a deformed bourgeois democracy, one deformed not by an undefined ideology (or amalgam) but by the decay of world capitalism.

Aside from the unclear fate of both Iran and the United States, the region’s winners and losers seem much more obvious, even if the war ended today or if it ends inconclusively in a few weeks.

Israel is an obvious (military not political) winner. Coming on top of tough but astonishing Israeli victories in Lebanon and Gaza, Iran has taken a drubbing at the hands of Israel like never before.

Israeli air supremacy and intelligence penetration of Iran have been remarkable. And, as of writing, Israel has been hit less in this war by Iran than it was in the June 2025 war as Tehran targets the Arab Gulf states more than it has the Jewish state.

Turkey, and to a lesser extent, its close ally Qatar are winners. Turkey gains by doing almost nothing. Iran — sometimes a rival, sometimes a partner in crime — is weakened. Those who distrust Israel can turn to Turkey as an alternative. Qatar has been repeatedly hit by Iran and many see it as playing a double game with the West in its dealings with an Iranian regime that it has helped in the past. But Qatar reportedly closing the Iranian Embassy and capturing IRGC saboteur cells certainly positions it nicely for the future. The Doha authorities take measures against Iran while Qatar-controlled media like Al-Jazeera consistently present pro-Iranian content in Arabic.

MEMRI

I would add to the list: Cuba. Trump and Cuba are nearing a deal. What is the point of choking Cuba with energy shortages when you place the chokehold on the entire world?

And Russia, whose oil revenue is back on track with the rising prices.

The Zionists are launching nighttime air-mobile attacks from its positions in Syria to try and flank Hezbollah over the last two nights. The first attempt was smaller and easily repelled. The second was much larger and also repelled with at least one helo shot down. Zionist attempts to move further into Lebanon from the South get repelled, while Hezbollah showers the Zionists with drones, rockets and a few missiles targeting Haifa. Jihad is the order of the day, month and year. The ceasefire will come once the Zionists are destroyed.

Maverick 4 – So true, Pandora’s Box is open for sure, and we are now seeing the reality of a regional ME war, involving numerous nations and groups.  Where this all ends is anyone’s guess, but the blowback is already immense – skyrocketing prices for gasoline, diesel, heating fuel, natural gas and LNG, in Ireland diesel is now $10 per gallon, heating oil increased 40% in week, and Ireland is not an exception.  The entire economic balance of the West is in danger.

The real market for oil is not Spot prices which are famously frisky, but forward prices which explain medium term expectations. The price or WTI for April 2027 delivery is still $66.80 up just $4 since the attack on Iran.Anyone who thinks that is too low can buy 1000 barrels with just $5k margin money.I suggest people go out and buy enough for a little uncertainty to enter their minds. The real oil market expects prices to return back to previous levels in a few months.Explore prices and charts here:  https://www.cmegroup.com/markets/energy/crude-oil/light-sweet-crude.quotes.htmlNote Gas is different (b has explained the difficulties for gas well).  They are looking at a full year of high prices.

Thanks for your reply. Currently, it’s difficult to get actual documentation of this sea change in relations, but it’s happening. The big problem for all GCC members soon will be food supplies, particularly for Qatar. Russia is the only power with the ability to solve that coming crisis as nothing from the Outlaw US Empire will get through. why bother protesting against this war in the West? Neither you nor your leader, if they wanted, can end this war.

Iran will end this war when the conditions are fulfilled. They said so in advance. And I see no reason to doubt they can deliver.
What will be these winning conditions?

  1. surviving as a nation – OK
  2. kicking the US out of West Asia – very likely, but CIA, NSA penthouses will be reestablished, big embassies too
  3. war reparations for the damage and the killed – unlikely, they may even be to proud to request this
  4. sanctions relief – unlikely, except for some empty promises, but sanctions have lost their weight anyway
  5. Israel becoming a civilized state without apartheid and g3noc1de, supervision and destruction of the nuclear program, 1-state solution – make Yaffa great again
  6. justice for the warmongers including those that send the Tomahawks to Minab

That needs some time, patience please

Bibi is many things, but the one thing he is not is stupid. He knew how this would go, after all he saw what happened during the twelve day war. He knew Israel would get hit hard and that was part of his calculus. His intention from the start was the use of nuclear weapons against Iran. He drew Trump in using extortion and inducements to his megalomania. When the moment comes, it will Bibi whispering in Trump’s ear that it is time to use the nukes…and he will.

Reports of unchallenged Iranian missile strikes on the Israeli homeland are mounting.  I would be curious to see an actual on the ground report regarding the damage to the Israeli industrial heartland – Haifa.   If Haifa has been hit with numerous ballistic missile strikes and is on fire……..then the IDF will be entering a panic mode.

Oil trading is dominated by people who assume that oil grades are perfectly fungible and have no clue about even the basics of refining. If this was happening 20-30 years ago when you had expert oil traders dominating the market the prices for both spot and futures would be higher. Calls don’t seem like a bad idea to me. Too much patronage involved in markets where three private equity firms control 80% of public shares and one PE firm has controlling interest in the other two.
