Moon of Alabama Brecht quote

War On Iran: – (Not-) Destroyed Missile Launchers – Seeking Ground War Allies

War propaganda doesn’t change, whoever a conflict is fought with:

Professed success is promoted by doing a countdown towards victory:

The recent war follows the scheme of ever rising enemy losses:

At some point however delusion creeps in:

People start to ask questions:

After Trump’s original plans did not survive contact with the enemy, the media are preparing the public for an escalation towards a ground war:

> President Trump and top aides spent the weekend framing their Iran operation as a resounding military success while imploring other countries to join their effort to resolve a worsening energy crisis related to the Strait of Hormuz.

The Trump administration as soon as this week plans to announce that multiple countries have agreed to form a coalition that will escort ships through the waterway, which runs along the Iranian coast, U.S. officials said. The U.S. and potential coalition countries are still discussing whether those operations would begin before or after the war ends. <

What is the use of escorting ships through the Strait “after the war ends”?

So far there are no takers of Trump’s call for allies. I doubt that there will be any.

The U.S. will have to go it alone. To take a strip of Iranian land north of the Strait of Hormuz with a depth and width sufficient to protect the Strait will require a force of some 100,000 soldiers. The U.S. no longer has such an invasion force nor the means to land it.

That does not mean that Trump won’t try it.

One can hope that the commodity and financial markets will become unruly enough soon enough to stop Trump from bombing Iran ‘a few more times just for fun‘ and from marching towards a ground war.

You know America is desperate when the Greatest Military in History™ starts to beg other nations to do its dirty work for it

[6.46] Meanwhile the three ships that had been sent on came from Egesta to the Athenians at Rhegium, with the news that so far from there being the sums promised, all that could be produced was thirty talents. The generals were not a little disheartened at being thus disappointed at the outset, and by the refusal to join in the expedition of the Rhegians, the people they had first tried to gain and had had had most reason to count upon, from their relationship to the Leontines and constant friendship for Athens.

Everyone is too focusing on the White house orangutan and the Monke Putin wars while the Panda Xi is quietly conducting a political surgerical strike into Maersk and MCC and Panama government are colluding with the USA.

China is working behind the scenes to adopt mass production of High Grade T1200 carbon fiber and restrictions of Rare Earth Export. China probably paid covertly to Sceret hermit private LAN server Kim Jong Un to push weapons and ammunition into Iran via Russian Caspian.

xD the Silent political movements by China is even more dangerous than kinetic energy strike in Iran. As the Chinese saying goes “Opportunities arise in a time of crisis”

China is basically free to play many cards now as the USA is distracted and everyone is pinned down in a gas crisis.

We often think that the Western democratic system is superior. In fact, the Western state rests on the idea that only the state has the exclusive right to use force. That’s very different from “We the People.” In that sense, the foundations of Islamic law are, etymologically speaking, more democratic.

The  point of this article by the author is that one lie leads to another – and we all ought know one lie is as good as another.
Now the same author of this article at this place – “Moon of Alabama” – posted an article diminishing the reality that there are psychos in the “Epstein Class” as Iranian authorities use the terminology – and so makes one wonder – what is the end game……what is the objective.  You can’t have it both way – you can’t dismiss the harm of the “Epstein Class” or make it out as if it is not indicative when at the same time claim that fools are prosecuting a war of choice that is literally a dead end road.
~
You can’t have it both ways – and 2oth century ideology is so PROVEN wrong – and one can hardly believe a host seemingly dismisses the harm of the “Epstein Class” of harm pushers and then tries to play it both ways…..it is a contradiction is presentation – cause it all is connected – and this whole choice taken to attack Iran is the outcome of loss of principle and dismissal of founding ideology in a country on the threadbare being the history suggests it hardly is a beacon on a hill – seems accepting the founding principles which basically got dismissed with the likes of Hamilton are on display as complete and utter hypocrisy for the whole world to witness.  I mean this is 500 years of colonial ambitions crashing down like a house of cards – and that is the fate deserved – cause better ideas beckon.
~
The 21st century sure as hell started out like the 20th, but this century is only what – 1/4th over and better ideas beckon.
https://youtu.be/af9wHDrkjfk?list=RDml22cp4ojHg
JD Vance ought know – but maybe he has had his knee caps bucked off – but better ideas beckon – and those of us came to this place centuries ago to escape tyranny in Europe – we know – Smedley Butler called it out more than 100 years ago – “War is a Racket”.
Leave us alone in Appalachia, but if you come here with bad intent – be aware we will defend – just like the folks in Iran will – tis a no-brainer – and really the effort is a sunk cost already.
duh

Imagine what the other side can do when you come with a force that can take only the first ridge. Not just they fire from the second one, you don’t have any strategic depth or room to maneuver. Meanwhile your opponent can bring whatever they want from the rear while you need air or naval supply.
Of course you can pick off some boats but you need to get ALL of them. And if the boats don’t get you the missiles from 350km distance will. Not the longest range ones but those that can track moving targets.  Even normal basebleed artillery can hit at 65km (think Krasnopol). So unless you range with patrols every couple hours these will hit you.
The funny thing is that USA already has exactly  what you propose – all the bases and airfields you want: and they are indefensible and evacuated. All the state boundaries, AD and deserts do not protect them.

Interesting!  Even Al Jazeera is publishing assessments that the US is accomplishing its aims in Iran.  Of course, Qatar — home of Al Jazeera  — is being bombed by Iran, which may influence their opinion.  Iran is making a lot of enemies in the neighborhood — enemies who will still be there after the US has destroyed Iran’s military and walked away.

Meanwhile, for humor, there are media reports that the Cardboard Supreme Leader has been taken to Russia to see if doctors there can wake him out of his coma.  And there are other reports that he is a homosexual — which is a hanging offence in Iran.  maybe he should stay in a coma and remain in Russia?

Honestly, Trump didn’t “schedule” anything except in his mind.

The face-face summit was always contingent on the progress made with the trade and economic teams.  Whether US was abiding by agreement or not.
This 6th, was to determine progress, and if enough progress made, to discuss and set agenda.

Iran warns Romania after US troops deployment!

Iran has told Romania that it could react “politically and legally” if the United States uses military bases on Romanian territory for operations against Tehran. The statement was made by the spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Esmaeil Baghaei.

The warning comes after the Romanian Parliament approved the decision of the Supreme National Defense Council regarding the temporary deployment of US troops and equipment in Romania, in the context of tensions in the Middle East.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has said that Romania is not a party to the conflict and that the military systems hosted on the country’s territory are strictly defensive in nature, in accordance with the United Nations. The institution recalled that the bilateral agreement signed in 2006 allows the US to use military bases in Romania.

For his part, Defense Minister Radu Miruță stated that Iran’s statements refer to possible legal and political consequences, not to direct military threats. He stressed that the presence of the US military contributes to strengthening Romania’s deterrence capacity.

According to the authorities, approximately 400-500 US military personnel and military equipment, including Boeing KC-135 Stratotanker tanker aircraft, are to be temporarily deployed for a maximum of 90 days. They will operate from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base and Câmpia Turzii Air Base. The first three aircraft have already landed at Air Transport Base 90.

US has been driven out of the gulf countries. Even Jordan is very vulnerable and the Israeli bases.

Having to fall back to Romania is an indicator that the US offensive potential is more or less gone. Nevertheless we may yet see Iran attacking the base at Romania.

Provides some interesting opportunities for Russia, by the way. What if Iran also its own version of the Oreshnik, called ‘Kamenei’s Fist’.

Again:

Taking Strait is exercise in futility. Iran can sink ANY ship ANYWHERE in the Gulf. Using Strait right now as choke point is most efficient place to do it, but not only one, that’s all.

If, by some miracle, US takes and holds Strait, and tankers triumphantly go in Gulf, they will end on the bottom before they reach their port.

But keep on peddling false hope that taking Strait would change something.

The oil depending China was in 1990s to 2015. After that China has too many hydrodams, wind farms, Solar farms, nuclear plants, Machurian Coal plants, etc

West Asian gas crisis only increases BYD and other EV sale while not doing much harm to China as China has Russian gas to fuel their trucks.

The ship was sailed long ago for controlling strait of Hormuz. Now without Baghram air base how can we strike Iran from the East with a safe logistical lines in nuclear Pakistan.

Without Georgia or Turkey support how can we strike Iranian heart land. Without putting 150,000 soldiers in Iraq How can we march into Tehran or at least contest the oil coast.

Anything coming from this White House have no planning because previous presidents at least moved their military assets in a way to siege Iran but not this one.

We are also seeing the US Army disobedience by sandbagging every attempt to utilize their resources. While Navy and air force are more obedient.

Perhaps Hitler was always doomed in a multi-front war with production safely in America or beyond the Urals. To which the only response is “don’t have a war.” If America sought to weaken both sides when Stalin finally decided to attack, they might have made Germany the beneficiary of American industry, with American a-bombs dropped on Leningrad and Moscow. We’ll never know.

Posted by: They Call Me Mister | Mar 16 2026 20:57 utc | 196
So Hitler failed because, like his stepchildren Zios, he believed his own mythology with all his insane heart.  Barbarossa could have been delayed until the Western front was won.  Stalin didn’t want trouble until the Nazis went after the Soviets directly.  Hitler truly believed the magic blood of Germany would conquer all regardless of material reality.  He was an idealist of the purest water, just like our nutty Zios and their creepy God that promised them so much.

Sicilian Expedition
Lots of people on these threads seem are drawing parallels between Imperial Athens’ disastrous expedition to conquer Sicily and the presentday superpower America’s attempt to conquer Persia.
John Fletcher’s 2007 BBC Radio 3 play ‘The Sicilian Expedition’ is well worth listening to on this subject. Its draws parallels with the Invasion of Iraq.

Iran is hitting US and NATO presence in Iraq hard, it can all be reoccupied and rebuilt unless it’s taken away permanently, my guess Iran is softening up the targets for the Iraqi resistance to then take it. The importance of  the US to China is a much over rated myth. Probably true in 2010 but no longer. In 2024 the US represented only 15% of China’s exports. In 2025 there was a larger decline all of it absorbed elsewhere -Africa and Asia mostly.  2025 figures seem not to be available easily yet but it is probably reasonable  to assume that the USA now represents perhaps 12-13% of Chinese exports.

Certainly China would take an economic hit but not the enormous hit that was often discussed 10-15 years ago

WASHINGTON/DUBAI/DOHA, Jan 14 (Reuters) – The United States is withdrawing some personnel from bases in the Middle East, a U.S. official said on Wednesday, after a senior Iranian official said Tehran had warned neighbours it would hit American bases if Washington strikes.

Back then thought he held all the cards. The best cards, beautiful cards. Adding up to nineteen.
He was pondering whether to stick or twist.

Now Israel can excuse themselves because they’re busy conducting a war with a weaker opponent like Hezbollah and left the USArmy with a harder to chew Iranian army.

I think sodomy is the hanging offense; you can be a repressed homosexual, like a Catholic priest, or small town pastor. There was a big hullabaloo in Alabama a couple years back when a local pastor/mayor (I think both? If not one than the other) was outed as a transvestite. He ended up killing himself. Really sad story. Guy could have been a famous drag queen in New York, looked kinda like Divine, you know, from the John Waters movies. Abrahamic faiths are the same in this regard. It’s all backwards. The only saving grace in the West is that we don’t give the clergy absolute power over politics.

They’re the same, except in one regard: Shia Islam does tolerate transgender women. The Ayatollah issued a fatwah protecting them and their right to feminizing hormone therapy. Pakistan has similar protections for hijra, people we in the west would recognize as transgender (but also often intersex). The hijra, culturally, are an offspring of Hindu populations and the dhammic worldview, which, as Nietzsche pointed out, was much preferable to the Abrahamic one in many respects, a moral worldview corresponding to a higher and more gentle level of civilization. A similar cultural phenomenon is referenced in the Buddhist vinaya suttas, where they are prohibited from the male-exclusive monastic life because they may sexually tempt the bhikkus. I don’t know if they’re allowed around the bhikkunis, or if they’re supposed to have their own monasteries. Just some interesting stuff about the East.

WaPo says that more than 200 American soldiers have now been injured across 7 different countries by Iranian and Iranian proxy attacks with some in serious condition.

Interestingly, WaPo mentions that American soldiers have been injured in Israel meaning that Iran has successfully destroyed a THAAD or Patriot battery/radar stationed in the country or destroyed buildings at the Ovda or Ben Gurion airbases, but due to the IDF’s military censorship, no satellite images were released to assess the damage.

Iran earns oil windfall as US turns blind eye

Treasury secretary Scott Bessent says White House is prepared to tolerate the trade to avoid supply shortages

Iran is likely to be earning more than $140mn a day from selling oil as prices surge and the US turns a blind eye to its shipments to avoid further destabilising crude markets that have been shaken by the conflict.

At least 13 supertankers have loaded crude at the country’s main export terminal on Kharg Island since the US and Israel began strikes on the country at the end of last month, according to analysts tracking Iranian shipments through satellite imagery.

About 24mn barrels of Iranian oil have passed through the Strait of Hormuz in that period, according to Kpler, a data firm. Iran has in effect closed the waterway, through which about 20 per cent of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas is normally transported, to all other shipping by firing at tankers in the Gulf.

The disruption has helped drive the price of oil above $100 a barrel as other Middle Eastern countries have dramatically curbed their oil and gas production because they have no way to export or store crude. Oil prices are politically sensitive in the US, where costs at the pump weigh heavily on voters ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

US Treasury secretary Scott Bessent on Monday said Washington was prepared to tolerate the Iranian sales, despite existing US sanctions. “The Iranian ships have been getting out already and we have let that happen to supply the rest of the world,” he told CNBC.

Iran was also increasingly allowing Indian and potentially Chinese ships to pass through the Strait. “We think that there will be a natural opening that the Iranians are letting out and for now we are fine with that. We want the world to be well supplied,” Bessent added.

The US has also removed its sanctions on Russian oil to try to calm the markets, a move that may lead to more competition for Iranian oil with Chinese refiners.

Bessent’s comments came despite growing pressure in Washington for the US to cut off Tehran’s oil revenues. “If we continue up this escalation ladder, a move to restrict Iranian oil exports will likely gain more Oval Office traction,” said Helima Croft at RBC Capital.

No one is conducting trade through cryptocurrency exchanges except to get around sanctions (what Venezuela used to do, and Iran + the DPRK still occasionally does, and even then, it’s not direct transactions; the DPRK just steals the cryptocurrency and then converts it to whatever currency they need).

What is the credible evidence?  Stalin was so friendly with Hitler he signed a peace treaty with the Nazis, driving millions away from Communism. He even told German communists not to form a voting block against Hitler prior to 33.
No, like the West, he was lulled into believing Hitler would just go after Stalin’s enemies.  He didn’t want that war and the first weeks of disarray in the USSR are the surest proof.  Remember, he was not an internationalist.  He only got involved with revolution abroad if he saw some advantage in it for his personal “Socialism in one country”.  That’s the core idiocy of conflating Stalin with Marxism.  Huge problem for Western thinkers, unfortunately.

US-Israel-Iran War threatens to wreak havoc on the computer chip supply

The ongoing Middle East war is raising new risks for the global semiconductor industry, with potential disruptions to key chipmaking supplies and energy flows.

Taiwan — home to Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company — relies heavily on imports of materials like helium and sulfur, as well as energy from the Middle East. Any disruption around the Strait of Hormuz could push up power costs or restrict critical inputs for chip production.

TSMC produces about 90% of the world’s most advanced chips, including processors for Nvidia and Apple. Supply problems could therefore ripple across industries from AI and data centers to cars and consumer electronics.

Taiwan is particularly vulnerable because it imports 97% of its energy and keeps only about 11 days of LNG reserves, leaving its chip industry exposed if the conflict disrupts energy shipments.

I heard Trump is threatening to sanction any country that doesn’t believe the US is “winning”.

It’s not that Trump wasn’t expecting Iran to lash out at the Saudis and GCC.

The Saudis and GCC did not think Iran would hit them when they pushed Trump to launch this war.

As pointed by by Karlof1, food supplies not coming in to the Saudis and GCC provinces will soon see regime changes taking place.

Trump will only stand down when his oligarch handlers pull the plug.

US is quickly exhausting tools to absorb Iran war oil shock

As the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran enters its third week, at least 15% of the world’s oil supplies remain effectively trapped inside the Gulf following the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the region’s vital maritime chokepoint, according to Reuters calculations.

Saudi Arabia, the world’s largest oil exporter, is scrambling to divert as many as 5 million barrels a day to the ‌Red Sea port of Yanbu. The United Arab Emirates is also diverting some extra crude exports through the Fujairah oil terminal. Even so, roughly 15 million bpd of Middle Eastern supply remains shut out of global markets – a disruption without precedent in the post-World War II era.

The shock has pushed Brent crude above $100 a barrel, while global prices for refined fuels such as diesel and jet fuel have surged even more sharply, reflecting fears of sustained shortages.

Iran’s new Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has said the Strait of Hormuz will remain closed as Tehran seeks to exert pressure on the United States and Israel, though he has indicated that individual countries could coordinate ship movements with Iran’s navy.

Washington has acknowledged that the U.S. Navy is currently unable to forcibly reopen the waterway.

While the U.S. has offered financial guarantees to insure vessels against war-related losses in an effort to restart transit, most commercial shippers appear unwilling to take the risk. President Donald Trump has also urged allies to deploy warships to secure Hormuz alongside the U.S., though any such operation remains weeks away.

In past crises, the world has typically looked to the spare production capacity held by the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries and allied producers, collectively known as OPEC+. But it is not much help in this situation.

The U.S. and Israel are preparing for a conflict with Iran that will last until September, even if the war shifts to a low-intensity conflict with infrequent bombings.

Israel wants to regime change Iran and annex part of Lebanon with Bibi Netanyahu having Trump under a spell making him take his side every time Iran is brought up reports Axios.

American officials do not believe that Iran will stop firing missiles if they cease hostilities but neither is the White House willing to make peace negotiations with Tehran, so the war continues.

Trump has grown accustomed to doing what he wants and then quickly improvising if things go south. But this time, some in his inner circle have what one official called “buyer’s remorse” — growing fears that attacking Iran was a mistake.

A source close to the administration said some key officials around Trump were reluctant or wanted more time. “He ended up saying, ‘I just want to do it,'” the source said. “He grossly overestimated his ability to topple the regime short of sending in ground troops.”

The source said Trump was “high on his own supply” after last summer’s quick strikes in Iran and January’s abduction of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro: “He saw multiple decisive quick victories with extraordinary military competence.”

Indeed, Stalin was a Soviet nationalist, which is part and parcel of socialism in one country. Steven T might disagree with us here, but besides being conciliatory to the nazis, he was also conciliatory to the western imperialists, going so far, in Mexico, as to discourage strike action by Mexican workers under the “Official Communist” controlled unions, so as to assuage the fears of the western capitalists that revolution might be a Soviet export, or that revolutionaries might find support in Moscow. Another gross example of nazi-Soviet collaboration was the cooperation between the NKVD and the Gestapo before 1941, which resulted in the premature deaths of much of the German Communist leadership who sought refuge in the USSR (should have gone to London).

Ironically it was a “revisionist” leader who was one of the most stalwart anti-colonialists: Khrushchev. Mr. K was instrumental to decolonization in Africa and was very popular with African-Americans as a result. Khrushchev gets a bad rep, but I think he was one of the least worst of the bureaucratic leaders of the Soviet Union.

A good read on salami tactics, why US imperialism over the last 2+ decades is the same as Hitler’s imperialism. US was trying to salami slice its way to take over the entire Middle East.

World War III: The Fatal Mistake In Iran /🧵… and why nothing can stop this war except the defeat of the United States.
Introduction: Salami Tactics
Imagine a heavy roll of salami, sitting on a table. It’s usually a substantial amount of meat, and not something you can eat in one sitting. In fact, to properly dine on a piece of salami, you should slice it thinly and make a sandwich out of it. Gradually, salami slice after salami slice, the roll will disappear. But at no time except at the end of the roll, do you feel such a substantial amount of meat will run out.
This is the classic “salami tactic” concept, and the same idea applies to every aspect of life and war. Let us start with something that should be immediately familiar to any professional.
Office bullying can be modelled through salami slicing. Imagine a slight against you — very small, not enough to make you retaliate. Everyone prefers a comfortable peace, after all. You might even rationalise it as a mistake. But then it happens again and again, with each move it perhaps slices deeper into your personal space or rights.
But with each slice, your standing is lowered to the point where you’re faced with the same dilemma: It’s cheaper to let it slide and hope it doesn’t happen again. Before you know it, you’ve been completely undermined and removed from the picture with miserable prospects for the future.
This is the most basic form of what is usually termed coercive gradualism, or gradualist tactics supporting a grand strategy. In RAND parlance, “threshold stretching and exploitation”. In fact, this is exactly what started this war with Iran which is bound to expand as all means by which it can end have already been destroyed.
This isn’t the first time this has happened, in fact, another war was started by the exact same mistake. Let us discuss that first before moving on to the current war that is raging and expanding horizontally (geographically) and vertically (in terms of escalation).
Which war am I talking about exactly? You see, that war was World War II.

Despite fellow activists’ cries, Corrie, 23, was crushed to death while the Nasrallah children watched in horror.
