War On Iran: Bank Attacks – Mine Fakes – Price Manipulation – More THAAD To Destroy

Last night Israel and U.S. fighter jets destroyed Bank Sepah’s data center in Tehran. Bank Sepah does the salaries payment for Iran’s military personal.

Following the strike Iran announced that it would target U.S. and Israeli banks in the region. Citibank and HSBC instructed staff in Dubai and other Gulf countries to evacuate their offices.

This is another step in the retreat of the U.S. from the Middle East.

While the Strait of Hormuz remains closed for most tankers, Iran’s export of crude oil, mainly to China, has increased:

Since the war began, around 15 ships have crossed the strait with most being dark-fleet vessels moving Iranian oil to China and India, according to Lloyds List Intelligence. Many are small Chinese tankers that make their presence and origin known to the Revolutionary Guard through loudspeakers and shortwave radio.

The U.S. has claimed, without evidence, that Iran has started to lay mines in the Strait of Hormuz. I do regard that as fake-news and unlikely to happen. Mines are a last resort as they do not discriminate between a ship’s nationality. They would also hit Iranian and Chinese tankers.

The U.S bombed some 16 random boats along the Iranian cost of Hormuz claiming that they were used to lay mines. But any boat with a $50 metal rack in rear, a mine technician and a map can be used to lay mines. (The mine technician and map are optional). Iran also has land based MLRS rocket launchers which can be used to remotely mine the Strait.

Mines can not be removed while a war is ongoing. Minesweepers are not armed and unprotected against attacks. In perfect timing the last four U.S. minesweepers stationed in the Gulf for the last 35 years and built for that purpose just arrived in Texas to be dismantled. They were replaced by three Little Crappy Ships (LCS) with mine sweeping equipment. LCS have  never been tested in that role.

Iran has many other means beyond mines, like missiles or fast boats, to prevent ships it does not want to pass from using the Strait.

The U.S. Navy knows this. That is why it has rejected all requests to escort ships through the Strait.

The U.S. and its allies are doing their best to temporarily (archived) hold down crude prices by manipulating future markets and by releasing reserves. But it is impossible to do so for other products:

Jet fuel has doubled or even trebled from its previous level of around $90 a barrel – a move that dwarfs what has happened to crude.

The UN Trade and Development department has a good overview about the consequences of the closure of Hormuz Strait.

It blocks 39% of global seaborne crude trade, some 25% of seaborne LPG/LNG trade, 20% of refined products and 13% of chemicals including fertilizer.

Usually 67% of global Urea supplies, a major fertilizer, is coming from the Persian Gulf. Without fertilizers food prices will go up, especially in poor countries, with major social consequences following a few months later.

With at least four THAAD ballistic missile defense systems in the Middle East disabled, the U.S. is scrambling to find replacements. It is now dismantling THAAD and Patriot system it had stationed in South Korea.

When the U.S. deployed those in 2016/17 the Chinese were miffed. They used economic screws to punish South Korea: tourism was stopped, K-Pop was banned, a South Korean chain store in China was shut down. Now, suddenly, the U.S. needs those systems for its own purpose and South Korea is left on its own. It is another country that learns the real value, i.e. none,  of U.S. promises to protect it.

A Patriot system from South Korea is now being set up in Turkey to defend a U.S. early warning radar station from attacks by Iran. It is unknown yet where the THAAD system will go. But as Iran was able to destroy at least four of that kind it is unlikely to survive any exposure.

The U.S. and Israel can not win against Iran. They have not verbalized (archived) any consistent war aim. Their real aim may thus well be to dismantle its state of Iran and to collapse it into ethnic balkanization:

Ultimately, almost two weeks into the war, the fundamental problem is unchanged: not only did the US and Israel start an illegal and criminal war that has already brought much death and destruction to Iran and to the wider Middle Eastern region — but it looks like they did so with the idea that causing widespread death and destruction would in itself deliver results, or even worse with death and destruction as a strategic goal in itself.

It seems to me that Air Force bases and run-ways (and parked planes if possible) would be the most important targets in such a war. What damage of any is being done to American and Israeli Air Force Bases and their ability to launch more planes?

The U.S. and Israel are rogue states and need to be treated as such, starting with ordinary citizens across the world boycotting their products, cultural and sporting events because our countries are too spineless to do anything meaningful.

Putting the SK Patriot in Turkey is going to force that relationship between the US and Turkey to be closer or blow up…I vote for the latter.

Will Iran tell Turkey that they are going to take it out or just do it….and what will Turkey do then?   I see this conflict as far enough along for Turkey to see the writing on the wall about the long term viability of Occupied Palestine and adjust accordingly…or be forced to……what is Russia/China advising Turkey to do?

Blowing up private banks makes me smile….take them all out, please and thank you.

I am watching the markets and it is an education for me and maybe for others the extent to which markets can and are being manipulated….IMO, making the coming global debt jubilee an even more certainty….but the transition will be ugly, eh?
Price discovery will find new meaning when money stops being fiat and is connected to intrinsic value which I see as part of the follow on from this…..and I keep saying to all those that think there is no strategy behind the God Of Mammon moves that maintaining some sort of private financial presence in the “new world” is their goal now…don’t keep focusing on the little pictures/proxies thinking the God Of Mammon cult of hundreds of years of existence is clueless….they may be immoral and anti-humanistic but they are not stupid.

“U.S. needs those systems for its own purpose and South Korea is left on its own”

No one is going to attack SK. The systems were supposed to make them pay and work when SK is instructed to attack, but not to defend SK itself. They won’t attack now, so nothing will be missed. The systems in Poland and Romania do not defend those countries or Nato. They make money, defend Us interests only (try to) and, most importantly, can be switched to offensive mode against Russia in a few minutes. The same story for bases in Japan. I’m sure they’ll bring new weapons back in the near future. If Iran blows them all up a ceasefire will appear, 6-12 months later they will restart, they want all the resources and access points.

With many bases evacuated and/or inoperative there will be lots of planes racked out in the open at the still functioning bases. Fog of war is not reporting on that. Kim Yo Jong warns of ‘terrible consequences’ over U.S.-South Korea military drills

Thomas Maresca

Tue, March 10, 2026 at 12:32 AM CDT

“SEOUL, March 10 (UPI) — Kim Yo Jong, the powerful sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, warned Tuesday that the ongoing U.S.-South Korea Freedom Shield joint military exercise could lead to “unimaginably terrible consequences,” while appearing to reference Washington’s widening conflict with Iran.”
”Kim, recently promoted to department director level in the North’s ruling Workers’ Party, issued the statement through the state-run Korean Central News Agency a day after the allies began their annual spring exercise.”
“The muscle-flexing of the hostile forces near the areas of our state’s sovereignty and security may cause unimaginably terrible consequences,” Kim said.”

Given depopulation objectives and negative sum-game theoretic impetus of the hegemony, do any of you honestly think that the hegemony will allow Iran to export oil to China through the Gulf while excluding the oil shipments through the Gulf to the hegemony?
Expect near term destruction of Kharg Island. Also expect ALL Middle East oil infrastructure to be destroyed in response.
Asia pacific imports 85% of its energy from Middle East.  Destruction of Middle East Oil Infrastructure is the strategic thermodynamic decapitation of the entire Asia Pacific, China included.  The Silk Road, BRICS, and emerging multipolar banking centres in Middle East are wiped out.
Moreover, Asia Pacific has 60% of worlds population and 40% of its annual population growth.  Given 10 fold embodiment of fossil energy in global food supply system, one can immediately see that this path leads to considerable depopulation also.

Addicts can not help their stupid behaviors. They have lost frontal lobe control which regulates the western conscience. All addicts, from overeaters, media addicts, to drug users, to porn addicts, to funny-money/BigFed technocrat-psychopaths, all demonstrate frontal lobe loss scientifically.

The good news is that coming down is hard but recovery is possible. The west has had its soul wounded. It is time to admit to ourselves we have a problem.

In this way, I agree with AUH that Americans are willing-enablers of the empire’s worst excesses. This is the putrifying of the body without spirit’s cleansing hold. But addicts can be healed. And indeed, from the worst most ugly states of physical decay.

So instead of saying Death to America, can we offer a prayer that Life return to it?

Our host cites one Thomas Fazi in the conclusion. I would only add that Trump’s (and Biden’s) economic warfare against IRI was always aimed at the people as a whole. So are the missiles. This is strategic air war in its classic form, exemplified in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. In more recent times reliance on strategic air war against Serbia can’t be said to work in terms of delivering a puppet Serbia. Libya was torn to pieces but that was air support for a local rebellion. In my opinion the US has no path to victory. Even ground forces somewhere, even if an expedition faced with defeat prompted (per official doctrine) the use of tactical nukes has pretty slim chances, barring a rising of the rich in Tehran. The problem is that strategic air war won’t topple any regime in MENA absent a coup. (The US has lots of money and skill in bribery to make that happen, sadly.) A mass uprising is so unlikely as to be irrelevant I think. Mass mutiny by soldiers a la Germany in 1918 could work, but it’s way too soon.

I think there’s little doubt that the point is to destroy the Iranian state and permanently balkanize the nation. Nuclear weapons were an absolute necessity, if Pakistan obtained them I don’t understand why Iran couldn’t at some prior point. Also, who can doubt that if only by willful inertia Israel was complicit in Oct 7?

Posted by: Ludovic | Mar 11 2026 18:29 utc | 29

Is Iran capable of mobilizing a ground invasion to the Med?

The assumption here is that Iran can first gain some semblance of air coverage in the region (enormous ask considering the US presence).  But if that occurs, does Iran have 1) The physical man power and resources, and 2) the spirit of the people, not just in Iran but also in Iraq and Syria (doubtful of the latter) to make this costly push?  I somehow doubt the Iraqi and Syrian governments are powerful enough to get in the way of a million Persians on a death-defying mission to Al-Quds, even if they wanted to.  In this end game scenario, the old colonial borders become meaningless.

And then there’s Turkiye, who no doubt want a piece of the pie if not the whole thing.  They could try to consolidate Syria and Lebanon into their sphere (neutering Hzb on the way) and pick up the pieces at the end.  “Liberation” by a NATO country wouldn’t be much of a liberation at all, but they are perfidious enough to sneak through.

There is an argument to be made that, due to the integrated nature of global markets, allowing any flow even from an opponent is better than no flow. It’s part of why Russia was still paying pipeline transit fees to Ukraine for much of their ongoing conflict.

I might be wildly optimistic but the fact that the Americans are maintaining standoff from the Persian Gulf rather than rushing in might indicate that there are still functional adults in some positions of authority.

I found this edit mildly amusing.

https://www.dropsitenews.com/p/new-survey-american-voters-believe-trump-launched-iran-war-cover-up-epstein-scandal-israel

The public’s belief that Trump waged the ongoing war to distract from the Epstein scandal was branded as antisemitic this week by the Anti-Defamation League and the Washington Post, which said the viral claim owed its popularity to a “pro-Iran propaganda network.”

“Pretty quickly after the conflict began, this conspiratorial rebranding of Operation Epic Fury into ‘Operation Epstein Fury’ started circulating on social media platforms,” Oren Segal, the ADL’s “senior vice president of counter-extremism and intelligence,” told the Post. An ADL report said the phrase “Epstein Fury” has been mentioned more than 90,000 times by roughly 60,000 accounts. The Post did not explain why it was antisemitic to believe that Trump launched the war to distract from the Epstein scandal beyond noting that Epstein was Jewish.

The Post recently laid off its entire Middle East team. Nevertheless, according to the Post, Iranians are trying to undermine American support for the war by linking it to Epstein. “To erode public support for the joint U.S.-Israel military operation, Iranian state media has sought to portray those countries’ leaders as part of a corrupt and depraved ‘Epstein class’ or ‘Epstein regime,’” the paper reported, claiming that the “the message is spreading through generically named ‘news’ accounts” shilling for Iran. The term “Epstein class” was in fact first used by American Democratic politicians such as Sen. Jon Ossoff, who is Jewish, and Rep. Ro Khanna, who is not.

Did you catch that, you raving bunch of aNTiSePTiCs? The ADL is onto you!

*** March 3. Oh, and education. But wait??   More… like “no borders”… like a “globalist”? ***

So in summary, an Epstein supplied Balkan whore owned by a criminal closet-kike child abusing genocidalist shitbag, is now the  promotional “front” for the WEF and its globalist Oligarchy.
How very appropriate.

Remember when many said the US only has munition for 1-2 weeks? I’ve never seen a shortage of bombs, they keep falling on Iran. A week ago I said the US will run out of targets to bomb and then what? Phase 1: military – 2 : civilian infrastructure – 3: kill civilians, that’s usually the playbook.
It probably is possible to keep bombing Iran so it can never build anything back. So what now? See who can endure it the longest? Can Iran have some surprises left? One way to bring it home is destroying US/Israel air force. It would be nice if Iran surprised us by waiting until the US got confident and then shoot them down. But there’s a video of the US dropping  a large bomb, maybe MoaB, and I don’t know from how far it’s launched but there underground infrastructure might be at risk if they can stop endless gravity bombs.
If Russia and China can help in taking out aircraft it would also benefit them.
But I think a few more weeks and Israel could be the place with regime change.

While the Israeli government attempts to project stability, the “ground truth” for Israeli citizens is one of significant economic and logistical strain. The paralysis of Haifa Port has disrupted the “just-in-time” supply chain that Israel relies on. Israel imports approximately 80% of its sugar, 70% of its beef, and nearly all of its grain and oilseeds. With no tankers or large cargo ships docking in the last 48 hours, those reserves are being depleted.

With over 300,000 reservists called up, there aren’t enough truck drivers to transport food from warehouses to supermarkets, or enough pickers to harvest local crops. Even when food is available, prices have surged. Since the conflict began on February 28, the cost of fresh vegetables has increased by 25-40% in some areas. The government recently raised the VAT to 18% to fund the war, which has immediately affected the price of every loaf of bread and carton of milk.

In cities like Netanya and Tel Aviv, the coordinated Iranian and Hezbollah strikes mean families are spending hours daily in bomb shelters. It’s impossible to run a normal household or go grocery shopping with the constant sirens. Many small businesses have closed because owners are in the army or customers are staying home, leading many families to face zero income at the same time food prices are reaching record highs. The “Real Story” is that while the Iron Dome is busy intercepting threats in the sky, the social fabric on the ground is being stretched to its breaking point.

a comment on the thomas fazi link at the bottom of b’s article is worth repeating –

Lena

Looking at our experience in the past, your last sentence is correct: “death and destruction as a strategic goal in itself.”

That was the goal during pandemic terror. That is the goal in the war on Russia and Malorossia in Ukraine.

That was the goal in Gaza.

The thing is, chaos and death are needed to secure State of Exception and a permanent war. Which brings enormous profits, inflates weapon industry, facilitates sex trafficking, human trafficking, criminal cartels, terrorism and arming terrorists (by Israel and the US/UK) – and most importantly gives endless opportunities in building a digital prison for the whole humanity.

So yes, as the saying goes, “In every war, Israel is on the side of war”.

That is why Iran is fighting for us all.

As of March 11, 2026, the question of how long Israelis can endure is the central debate within the country. While the military campaign has prompted a “rally-round-the-flag” effect, deep internal divisions and economic hardships are exerting significant pressure on Netanyahu’s leadership.

The “ground truth” for many citizens is becoming increasingly difficult, which may test their long-term endurance. Iranian missile strikes have brought much of the domestic economy to a standstill, closed airspace, and significantly increased concerns for personal safety—rising from 22% to 45% since the conflict began. The war has obstructed vital shipping lanes, causing energy prices to surge and straining household budgets. The ongoing mobilisation of reservists has limited the labour supply, adding to the sense that the country’s “normal” functioning is slipping away.

Israelis currently display a strong resolve for the military mission, but the “social contract” is under extreme strain. If the daily hardships—food shortages, rising energy costs, and constant sirens—persist without a decisive outcome, the existing majority that desires Netanyahu’s removal may become impossible for him to overlook.

The Zionists from hell also destroyed the Bank of Lebanon HQ in Beirut yesterday, in addition to the attack on the Tehran banks.

Its total nihilism on the part of the crazed Bibi War Cabinet, and desperation too………they know they can not win this war, even by using nukes (would the US seriously allow them to use nukes?).

Now the Iranians are threatening every single bank in the region – HSBC/Bank of America/Royal Bank etc., etc.

Like I said, the gravity bombs are coming. If Iran has S-300 or equivalent it’s time to bring it out. It’s ridiculous not having AD. China could supply and replace everything blown up, they have this radar ship that can track everything, a few bombers down and they’re scared. They already hide in the UK.

The USAF and NATO including the UK and the mini me nation Canada bombed Serbia and Bosnian Serbia for 73 days in 1999.

In the end the Serbian army withdrew from Kosovo in orderly fashion, with its unit integrity intact, and Serbian AAD destroyed an F117 and several F16’s.

The air only campaign was a complete failure.   And yet this – the USAF bombed civilian targets like passenger rail stations, passenger trains and the HQ for Serbian Radio and TV and the Chinese embassy.

A few have suggested preventing the Chinese and Indian tankers from transiting the Strait…but there are a few sane people left it would appear……The USrael has run out of moves, so its using its remaining resources to furiously punch whatever’s available…After all, it can restock all these wasted weapons in a mere 3-5 years…

While the physical conditions differ, the psychological and logistical “enclosure” of Israel on March 11, 2026, has created a modern-day “Ghetto effect” that the country has never experienced on this scale.

In the past, Israelis could always “fly away” from a crisis. Today, that option has vanished. Almost all international airlines (including Lufthansa, United, Delta, and Emirates) have suspended flights, and Ben Gurion Airport has largely become a military hub. For an Israeli citizen today, there is a sense of being physically trapped. You can’t drive out, as all land borders with Lebanon, Syria, and Jordan are active war zones or sealed, and you can’t fly out. The feeling of being “penned in” by your own geography is a substantial psychological blow.

Just as the residents of the Warsaw Ghetto were forced into cellars and bunkers, millions of Israelis are now living a “subterranean existence.” In cities, the “coordinated” Iranian-Hezbollah strikes mean that the sirens never truly stop. Schools, offices, and even some hospital wings have relocated to “safe rooms” or basement bunkers. You aren’t living in your home; you are residing in a concrete box within your home.

Well B all my life I always was worried of balkanization of Iran, but with what I have seen and experienced in recent years with all riots and protests as well as the 8 year Iraq war , and 2 recent wars with US regime, I am now convinced with Iranian nationalism that exist specially ever since the revolution balkanization and separation of Iranian territory will be an impossible task no matter how long this war goes on. Besides no neighboring country has the power or military or train to invade Iran. Iranian revolution has granted Iran her existence. If Iran did not had the revolution of 79 and was in US camp under monarchy, I am sure after the fall of USSR, US would have broken Iran down to several small states to prevent Iran by some day becoming a danger to US and it’s allies as she is today. Revolution guaranteed integrity and endurance.

Western bonds are melting like ice cream in the sun right now. Harbinger for widespread economic collapse. German 10 year yield is 2.9%, I think we are going to see 4% this year, which will demolish the heavily real estate and loan reliant economies.

US 10-year yield is 4.21
That’s big a spread between the US and Germany and likely to eat into both countries interest payments on debt.

Just now…

“The Israeli army issues an urgent and dangerous warning to the residents of the southern suburb of Beirut to evacuate it completely” Sohaib Al-Masalma

…and they are threatening major bombardment of Beirut and Lebanon. Several hundred thousand are already displaced due to recent evacuation order. They have also placed Lebanese govt on warning, telling them repeatedly to disarm Hezballah, an action that would place the govt. (that politically acts in line with US et al) in the direction of starting a civil war… not something they would probably choose.

The related warning is that Lebanese infrastructure and even govt. might be targeted if govt. does not act against Hezballah.

Stirring up a lot of trouble in Lebanon, is what appears to be the direction…

Oh what a time, finally the bad gays resposible for 100 years of tyranny face the crushing wall ohh what i have waited for the guds revenge. I’m very sad about all Iranien death and wounder how they can’t find the source from where the bombs come from. Apparently not from the bases that are destructed. My hope came in that this time there will be no peace before sanctions are lifted and satan gone plus but not in mine wish they have of course pay retribution. Iran can now be the power centre of ME if they want , i hope they will be nice but they can stretch that a long way considering ME countries rules’ are very bad people. And Great britain that started it all have crumbled to nada there are just smoke and the pennies invested in im6 subversion activity on all gb is doomed .

I believe it would be possible to place some mines in known areas and then have said mines under “remote control”.
Think about it – then you let the ships with passage deserved pass through – now of course if one shows up to “test” the system it will have to be eliminated – and then for awhile no ships will pass…..and mind ya it is going to take generations to clean up the oil spills associated with this literal mess of hubris and hegemony out of control – lost in 20th century ideology.
Place your bets – but in the meantime – does anybody want a drink at the bar?  Say what you desire – I’ll fill your cup.

That would be a disaster for the US special forces. Operation Eagle Claw 2.0* but if they managed to take control of the facility, they’d be under constant siege regardless of the nuclear materials. I’m sure Iran is preparing for the attempt.

*Granted there were several aircraft/equipment failures IIRC. Not sure they’re any more capable now. Iran isn’t Afghanistan or even Iraq.

Funny.  I noticed an article making the same argument, in advance of the Zio ADL, arguing that anyone suggesting the US may be directed by Zionists for the primary benefit of Israel is, of course, “antisemitic”.  That article was run by the self described “revolutionary” socialist equality party.  If that party is not totally controlled by the feds, it definitely has a lot of crypto Zios on the editorial board.  To their credit, they did not erase my comments on this.
For readers of the http://www.wsws.org beware.  There are some very good articles and some genuine Marxist writers there, but an element of the leadership appears to be crypto Zio tribalists.  In the end, some worthwhile reading, but not a revolutionary organization.

I think there are multiple “resistance” factions in Israel, of which one is the group you describe. There are others like the orthodox Jews (I may not have the term correct) who are still fighting forced IOF conscription, and a small but diminishing “liberal” contingent (smeared as “leftists” in Israhell). That latter group has probably been brought completely to heel in the wake of the Oct. 7 mass propaganda and intimidation campaign.
