If I’ve read you correctly in previous posts you are African, so I beg of you, do not fall in the same pit as western colonizers and mesure it all by the bottom line, consider that what the west provoked was a civil war with millions of casualties and incredible destruction, how do you measure that? How do you explain as the historian in the video says a family member on one side that do not provide some necessary paper to a family member on the other side? You must have some similar experience since African borders were wantonly traced by colonizers and divided members of the same group into different countries that ended up fighting each other. The disgrace that fell into Ukraine and Russia is enormous, but I believe in karma and the bill will have to be paid.

Saddened by this very clear analysis of the situation, no matter what the final result is the west got what it wanted, to ruin Russia

<= actually I see a possible result of the summary as an opportunity for both Russia and the EU. Russia now has the opportunity to assimilate with the EU.. to become a full pledged active, fully participating member of the EU, to merge its Ruble with the EU,  because both Russia and the EU are victims of the same destructors and finally the parties have been reduced to sufficient desperation that they are forced to recognize they must depend on each other to survive

Russia needs to convince the EU to exclusively purchase and use Russian oil and gas. Russia would add to the cost of the O&G sold to Europe the cost of providing defense for all of the EU member nations. (UK excluded). China is anxious to invest everywhere in the parts of the infra structure that support the BRI.

As a result of its security guarantee obligations Russia could become a major investor in rebuilding the self sustaining industrial output of Europe.. and eventually the EU currency might merge in some way with BRICS.  Except for the too big to fail and the off shore wealth, no one would have cause to war on the other and if the Russian membership and entry negotiations included EU law changes sufficient to prevent EU members  from transfering money out of the EU except by Government to government transfer.. (this would allow for offshore funds to return to the EU as well hopefully serving to prevent moving funds from EU to off shore accounts).

Russian Agricultural production is sufficient to feed all of Europe.. Another thing the EU could do is refuse to allow real estate or majority interest in business enterprises to be owned by any non EU entity or Transnational corporation.

Under this idea Russia would be obligated to continue to resolve the situation in Ukraine. A final settlement with Ukraine might even include adding Ukraine to the EU after it surrenders to Russia’s demands after it rebuilds itself sufficiently to quality for membership.

consider that what the west provoked was a civil war with millions of casualties and incredible destruction

It is exactly how I see things.

And it’s because I think Russia sees Ukraine as a brotherly people that I think they are going to pay for it reconstruction, of course not with the actual leadership under western control.

But the other outcome can be to let the west deal with the mess it has created in Ukraine, and just take care of Russia’s new regions.

Your view as expressed in you precedent post is pessimistic, if you are friendly to the two countries Ukraine and Russia.

As if taking the burden of reconstruction was a fate orchestrated by the west and not a choice.

But it can also be trolling, if the goal is to show us that Russia is defeated whatever is the end of this conflict.

In fact, I just can’t see the relevance of your emotional appeal to me and the concerned about Russia defeat before.

What is the relationship between brotherly people in a civil war and Russia is going into bankruptcy because of Ukraine?

This brings the other question : are you a troll ?

Oups… “The concern“.

Not only that.  Russia will carefully reconstruct Ukraine because it is in their interest to not have a failed state as their neighbour.

Picked up from ISW today;

Reuters reported on February 2 that the United States concluded a deal with Greek joint venture Atlantic-See LNG Trade to transport US LNG to Ukraine through a pipeline that passes through Bulgaria, Romania, and Moldova, likely referring to the Vertical Gas Corridor pipeline.

Notice how what I have been calling the Trans Steppe Trade Corridor to the old Austro Hungarian Empire is circumvented. It also seems this project is banking on including Odessa.

They won’t reconstruct Ukraine as it was. They will only rebuild what is absolutely necessary from the functional point of view.

They will only rebuild what is absolutely necessary from the functional point of view.

Doubt.  Ukraine has a rich metallurgical tradition and resources to further develop it.

Posted by: too scents | Feb 5 2026 15:42 utc | 110

Reconstruction? No, we won’t be in Kansas Donbass no more :3

In the middle and western ex-“Ukraine” those who are gone (left or dead) won’t be coming back, and there’s not going to be much of anything meaningful to do for anyone who does: there is no need to reconstruct anything.

Kiev might be a sleepy village surrounded by the ruins of the former city, maybe. A few cultural artifacts and historical significance keeping it barely alive.

No there won’t be any point to demolishing the ruined megablocks (are people or westerners even familiar with their size?) so they will simply remain. Far too much work and cost to remove even if used as pointless target practice. A Chernobyl without the radiation and even less alluring.

Seen it before, somehow, I can’t explain how or why it feels so familiar.

But nearly all the shit and evil will be gone (that’s why it will be so empty), it will be “nice”?

Sounds like an improvement to me.

Nope “too scents”, “unimperator” is right, and what you’re talking about is in the east (although some of it is still west of the front, not far though).

Is it so hard to look at the many satellite images of Ukraine’s sprawling industrial districts with huge railyards and to understand what is pictured?  Ukraine will have smokestack industry again, and soon.  It is at the confluence of too many ideal inputs not to.

“Dozens of Ukrainian lawmakers want to step down from parliament, Verkhovna Rada MP Maryana Bezuglaya has said, adding that resignation letters are already in the hands of faction leaders.

‘There are already fewer MPs than at any point in history,’ she wrote in a Telegram post on Wednesday. ‘They are dying, fleeing, being jailed, and being killed. Faction leaders are holding dozens of requests to relinquish mandates without review.’

The parliament has also been rocked by corruption scandals. Dozens of MPs have been implicated in vote-rigging, with the anti-graft authorities saying at least 41 lawmakers received cash bribes of up to $5,000 for their votes over several years.”

The Kiev TPP-4 has been completely destroyed – enemy media. They write that the thermal power station served about 500 thousand residents of the Dnieper and Darnitsa districts on the left bank of the Dnieper.✨The enemy is too eager to provide data on the results of our strikes, constantly filling the information field with pitiful messages.#InsiderAccording to sources, Zelenskyy is well aware of the actual losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the front lines, and all his statements should be interpreted as part of an information war. Bankova wants to classify any data related to the number of killed and missing soldiers after the end of the conflict, as the figure will become a trigger for society. According to the General Staff, by the end of 2025, the Ukrainian Armed Forces had lost almost 800,000 killed, wounded, or missing.

No idea why Lavrov seems keen to deal with OSCE considering his previous disgust with it
OSCE Chairman-in-Office Ignazio Cassis and Secretary General Feridun Sinirlioglu arrived in Moscow for talks with Sergey Lavrov.

The main topic of tomorrow’s talks will be ways to overcome the current profound crisis in the OSCE, which is the result of the destructive actions of several Western countries that are exploiting the Organization for their own interests, including by fomenting anti-Russian hysteria,

the Russian Foreign Ministry stated. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry will focus on the most pressing issues in the OSCE area – countering manifestations of neo-Nazism, preventing the falsification of history and media censorship, and protecting traditional values and the rights of believers and national minorities./Extract from longer detailed article re energy

Krapivnik.  Set to 22 mins starting with “The problem is, Russia can’t leave these territories …”

https://youtu.be/uMKm0gqoXU4?t=1322

We’ve known that since Bucha and we know why.  What of the rest of Krapivnik’s statements?

Krapivnik ends with Epstein.  No point examining that until or unless indisputable proof emerges of the worst of the horrors; but Diesen refers to the suggestions that Epstein was some sort of Russian agent.  Simplicius knocks that nonsense on the head in a recent article, though those suggestions seem to be getting traction in England amongst the credulous.  What’s worrying is the implications of that attempt to smear the Russians with the scandal.    If there are attempts to attribute those alleged horrors to the Russian this early on,  then it’s possible  there are some real horrors connected with Epstein and his associates to be somehow argued away by our politic1ans and propagandists.

That’s inference only though so I believe Krapivnik should have held back on that.  In between, he gives us a vivid picture of how many on the Russian side view the current military and political situation though again I believe it’s still too early to come out with any hard and fast predictions about the future of remnant Ukraine.  The Russians have only ever said it’ll be demilitarised and denazified.  They’ve never committed themselves to how.

5,000 British personnel in Odessa?   Our army’s been subjected to savage cuts for as long as I can remember.  With that in mind, maybe a nought too many there?   As for the French grabbing the gold, if they are they’re only observing what the rest of us have been doing and following suit.

On  the remaining content of the interview, it does fit with what one could gather in the post 2014 period of the war, when the information warriors hadn’t got into their stride  and it was easier to get at the facts.   Good for Krapivnik, far as I’m concerned, coming straight out with it.  And sterling work, as usual, from Diesen.  Hope his tenure’s rock solid and Ursula doesn’t sanction him.

Russians massively attack railroad in Sumy Region at night: Kuleba shows consequences

On the night of February 5, russians massively attacked the railway infrastructure of the Sumy Region, including the railway’s power system. A station attendant was injured.

Oleksii Kuleba, Deputy Prime Minister for Recovery and Minister of Communities and Territories Development, has reported this.

In the Shostka District, the attack also hit the “Car of Invincibility”, which was used by the community to heat the residents. People were in the shelter at the time.

The railroad buildings and a locomotive were also damaged. The energy infrastructure of the railroad in the area was also under fire. The railroad resumed train traffic as soon as the security situation allowed.

A railway worker on duty at the station, who was on her way to work, came under fire. She was provided with medical aid.

At the same time, the enemy attacked a railway station in the Okhtyrka District with drones. Technical premises and tracks were damaged. Everything is being quickly restored.

“This is another act of terrorism against Ukrainian logistics. The enemy is trying to stop the movement of trains, but the Ukrainian railroad is strengthening security protocols and continues to move,” Kuleba emphasized.

As the Ukrainian News agency earlier reported, due to the lack of voltage in the contact network, there were disruptions in the train schedule in Poltava and Kharkiv Regions.

https://ukranews.com/en/news/1132818-russians-massively-attack-railroad-in-sumy-region-at-night-kuleba-shows-consequences

Notable from the images in this report, the Russian attack appears to have taken out a diesel locomotive; not for the first time in recent strikes on rail assets. With the electrically-powered network already widely disrupted, the diesel back-up option is receiving increased attention.

War is not a soccer match and you should not take it as such, a team is the winner the other the loser and after the match the players exchange their t-shirts and go to have a shower. I suggested to whomever has the technical means to translate the linked videos in order  to watch a very serious analysis of the situation, what has been destroyed beyond millions of lives and property is human relations, and to restore them might take generations. It is too long for me to make a full transcript, if you don’t have the means to listen to it, well too bad, start by learning Russian.

Ukraine’s energy sector is based on the premise that “if there are no new strikes”

https://en.topwar.ru/277507-jenergetika-ukrainy-derzhitsja-na-tezise-esli-novyh-udarov-ne-budet.html

Including the following snippet:

Meanwhile, Ukrainians are publishing reports that after repairs at a number of power distribution facilities, fuses have literally started blowing. This leads to further outages, often just hours, or even minutes, after the “restoration” is complete.

Yup, components stressed beyond tolerance, but superficially complete, will fail when full duty is re-applied.

This will be an ongoing problem for the Ukrainian grid; repair some damaged kit but new failures will continue to reveal themselves.

⚡️⚠️☎️🇷🇺🇫🇷 Macron wants to call Putin, but preparing a substantive conversation will take several days, a French source told TASS
🇺🇦🏴‍☠️🇵🇱 Zelensky stated that Ukraine is ready for an exchange with Poland: Ukrainian long-range kamikaze drones in exchange for outdated MiG-29 fighters. We need to get through at least the winter” he stated following a meeting with Polish Prime Minister Tusk in Kyiv.In January, Polish Deputy Defense Minister Tomczyk announced that he was ready to transfer up to nine decommissioned MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine, which had previously intended to scrap them for scrap metal or send them to a museum.
🇱🇻🏴‍☠️🇪🇪👉🇷🇺 Latvia and Estonia suddenly called on the EU to hold direct negotiations with Russia.Prime Minister Silina and President Karis called for the appointment of a special European envoy to resume contacts with the Kremlin.

“These statements reflect a rapid shift in Europe’s strategic thinking after it was sidelined from direct negotiations with Russia in initiatives led by the United States” — Euronews reported.

Analyst Lars Bern believes that Ukraine cannot end the war because the regime in Kiev is not a normal government, but a ‘gangster gang’ that doesn’t care about the people. Ukraine, according to him, has lost tens of times more soldiers than Russia, the infrastructure has been destroyed to the ‘Stone Age’, especially energy and railways, and in Kiev there is no heating at -22-26 degrees – it’s a complete disaster.

What is worrying about it?  The Russians don’t care what the British think.

Here’s what I think is worrying, people around the world thought Joseph Biden was the president of the United States.  That was despite the rubber masks on “Biden” that kept bunching up or moving, the holographic “Bidens” which suddenly became either transparent so you could see the background through him or where the background suddenly moved in front of “Biden,” or the robot Biden walking with that robot gait.

Like Epstein wrote, “Biden is not your current president.  The mask malfunctions on Biden are getting worse each day.  On purpose. . . . The dude playing Biden ain’t Biden. . . .  That’s an actor with a fucking mask.  We’ve been over this a thousand times it’s never going to change.  Biden is shot, 2019 firing squad.”  see: t.me/myLordBebo/103193

If even Epstein couldn’t knock some sense into some American sycophant of his, then why do you think the British population will be smart enough to realize Epstein was being honest when he proclaimed that he worked for the Rothschilds?  I mean, how many people in Great Britain are smart enough to realize the Rothschilds run the United Kingdom?

For that matter, we get endless posts and comments on this site talking about Trump as if he was elected, as if he runs the United States, as if anyone gets elected.  Stupid people all around.

The Russians know nobody called Biden was president.  They know Trump doesn’t run the U.S.  They don’t care what you think.  They don’t care what I think.  They don’t care what the British people think.  They will continue to work to achieve their goals.

Query: what was left of kiev after it was conquered by the mongols?
AI Response: After the 1240 Mongol conquest, Kiev was almost completely destroyed, reduced to a ruined, near-ghost town where only about 2,000 of its 50,000 residents survived. Most of the city’s 40 major buildings were burned, leaving only a few standing, while the population was massacred or forced to flee.

More British backed terrorism.

Russian Lieutenant General Vladimir Alekseev was targeted in an assassination attempt by an unknown assailant in Moscow. He was shot several times in the back inside a residential building, and has subsequently been hospitalised. His condition is unknown. The shooter has since fled the scene, and a search is underway. Alekseev is the first deputy head of the GRU, and the deputy of Igor Kostyukov who leads the Russian negotiating team in the UAE.

But it’s just bullshit, both Americans and Russians know it’s bullshit.

To all you attrition skeptoids,
If Russia is really hurting, then they should stop advancing across all fronts and push everything into an attack that cuts off Odessa and links up with Transnistria.  This would compromise Ukraine so badly, as land locked, that Russia could then sit back and relax.  They don’t even need to capture Odessa, just cut Ukraine off.  The West is starting to compromise already, such a move would push them over the edge.

Dima (Military Summary Chanel) hypotheses:Shutting down the Starlink System may stall Russia’s plans for as long as a year.   Is Dima right?

Youtube has been scrubbing anything that is not inline with the US information war.  My take on it is that Dima got told to go with this narrative or get demonetized.

The story as is just does not make any sense.  And from a US standpoint the conclusion of the story is too perfect.

The message to the rest of the world is clear though.  If you use ANY US products, especially IT products, don’t go crying when the US weaponizes it to hurt or even kill you.

The old narrative was that Russians hacked into Starlink and used it TO IMPROVE it’s surveillance capability, enabling Russia to more accurately target Ukrainian (and US/NATO) military assets in Ukrainian cities.  Now the narrative is that Russia completely ditched its own surveillance equipment and it will take a year to return to it?

Two takeaways from this:  it is now clear how Musk became the “richest person in the world”.  US military IT money.  And lots of it.  And… it’s a warning for the rest of the world to ditch any US IT products, including Windows, US computer chips, US IT applications, etc.  It will take a long time to completely switch out, but it is mandatory.

For Americans, both blue and red, we will be paying the price of being in possession of these products for at least the next 20 years.

Rothschild network was shorting the rouble days before the takeover of Crimea, following imminently the Maidan coup.

The Rothschild network was shorting roubles just days before the formal Russian annexation of Crimea.

Epstein described that as “playing”. Think of the context: Victoria Nuland and the Soros network engineered the Maidan coup in Ukraine.

Everyone worth listening to in the American government had warned from the 1990s that a NATO move on Ukraine would trigger war. The Soros network did it anyway. Then the Rothschild network shorted roubles.

You don’t think the Soros network did the same? They engineered this conflict and profited from it. It’s incredible. And now Larry Fink’s BlackRock is doing all it can to loot what’s left of Ukraine. With the final escalation itself initiated by one Vladimir Zelensky. They’re playing with lives and making fortunes.

So 5%+ Wounded beyond recovery, permanently hors de combat, invalides . Maimed/crippled

IMHO those numbers include also very lightly wounded (not even counted by AFU), and doesn’t count another 5%+ KIA. (usually 1:1 to maimed)

Furthermore, from those 95%, once again IMHO, 2/3 only return after 1 year(ish) in hospital and recovery.

As for AFU, maybe ratios are close, maybe they aren’t but absolute numbers and ratios should be 2.5 – 3.0 the losses of RF

my 2 cents

The European Union announced 20 packages of sanctions against Russia:
✔️”In the energy sector, we are imposing a complete ban on the provision of maritime services for the transportation of Russian crude oil. Since shipping is a global industry, we propose to introduce this ban in coordination with like-minded partners after a corresponding decision by the G7. Another 43 vessels of the so-called ‘shadow fleet’ have been added to the sanctions list, bringing their total number to 640.
✔️The second block of measures is aimed at further restricting Russia’s banking system and its ability to create alternative payment channels for financing economic activities.
✔️The third block of measures envisages tightening export restrictions against Russia with the introduction of new bans on the supply of goods and services – from rubber to tractors and cybersecurity services – worth more than 360 million euros.
✔️We are also introducing new bans on the import of metals, chemical products and critical minerals, which were not previously subject to sanctions, worth over 570 million euros. Additionally, export restrictions on goods and technologies used for military operations, including materials for the production of explosives, are being expanded.”

‼️🇺🇸🇷🇺 A communication channel between the Russian and US militaries is the key to peace – Witkoff▪️Trump’s special representative stated that a direct high-level communication channel between the Russian and US militaries is crucial for achieving and maintaining peace.▪️He characterized the trilateral US-Russia-Ukraine meetings in Abu Dhabi as constructive. The negotiations focused on creating conditions for a lasting peace, rather than declarations.▪️The parties discussed a ceasefire and a mechanism for monitoring compliance with agreements. The consultations will continue in the coming weeks.@Slavyangrad

‼️🇷🇺🇺🇦The Russian language and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are the subject of negotiations, Europe is trying to derail them, – Lavrov▪️The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry made it clear that the issues of the Russian language and the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are being discussed as part of the negotiations on Ukraine. Moscow continues to insist on these topics as fundamental.▪️Lavrov stressed: the ban on the Russian language in Ukraine is a unique case, which has no analogues in other countries. According to him, the attempt to “immortalize the current regime with security guarantees” for Russia is unacceptable.▪️The minister also stated that Europe does not have its own position and has actually fallen into the trap of its own rhetoric.➖ “In Israel, Arabic is not banned, in Arab countries, Hebrew is not banned. Nowhere is a language banned. But in Ukraine, the language of the indigenous people of these lands – the official language of the UN – is banned,” said Lavrov.▪️He also noted that EU countries have taken a line of “strategic defeat of Russia”, because of which they are now trying to derail the negotiations between Moscow and Washington, to which Ukrainian representatives are also joining.▪️At the same time, Russia has closed contacts with a number of European leaders, who ask not to publicize the conversations, but privately repeat only general calls to “somehow end it”.@Slavyangrad

Parts of Ukraine are completely without power; restoring power and heat to homes is simply impossible, as restoration will take years. Life is only possiblein the western part of the country, where there is still heating and electricity, but in a protracted war, every city could suffer the fate of Kyiv or Kharkiv.
Construction of one new combined heat and power plant (CHP) in Kyiv will cost €600 million and take 3-4 years. Kyiv needs three large CHP plants and many smaller facilities, which would cost approximately €7.5-8.5 billion, says Kharchenko, Director of the Center for Energy Research.
“Based on its topology and grid planning, Kyiv needs at least three large CHP plants. This is a historical fact, and we won’t change it—repairs are so expensive that it’s easier to build a new capital. Therefore, three large CHP plants and many smaller facilities will be needed.” They will vary—from 500 MW to 10 MW—but a lot is needed, at least 5-6 GW in total, which amounts to approximately €7.5-8.5 billion, which must be somehow raised over the next few years. We are targeting a need of €9 billion for generating capacity construction across the country.”

Stanislav Krapivnik: Ukraine War: Abu Dhabi Talks vs Battlefield Reality

This interview examines the Abu Dhabi trilateral talks and the real situation on the battlefield in Ukraine. It argues that Ukrainian forces are increasingly stretched, with each new offensive smaller and costlier than the last, often driven more by media impact than strategic gain.

The discussion highlights intense fighting in key eastern and southern fronts, especially Zaporizhzhia, and suggests terrain and weather are the main factors slowing further advances. It concludes that additional Western weapons are unlikely to change the balance, warning that deeper NATO involvement could risk dangerous escalation without altering the outcome.

In past wars this could not be done at large scale except by risking large fleets of airplanes and their crews.
