U.S.-Iran – A War Of Aggressions Which Aims Can Not Be Achieved

Yesterday the Omani Foreign Minister Badr Albusaidi, the mediator in talks between the U.S. and Iran, revealed that Iran had offered unprecedented restrictions of its nuclear program to prevent a war.

During a CBS interview he explained:

MINISTER ALBUSAIDI: I am confident, and in my assessment of the way the talks are going, I think there is, really I can see that the peace deal is within our reach.

MARGARET BRENNAN: A peace deal?

MINISTER ALBUSAIDI: Yes, is within our reach, if we just allow diplomacy the space it needs to get there. Because I don’t think any alternative to diplomacy is going to solve this problem.

MINISTER ALBUSAIDI: The single most important achievement, I believe, is the agreement that Iran will never, ever have a nuclear material that will create a bomb. This is, I think, a big achievement. This is something that is not in the old deal that was negotiated during President Obama’s time. This is something completely new. It really makes the enrichment argument less relevant, because now we are talking about zero stockpiling. And that is very, very important, because if you cannot stockpile material that is enriched then there is no way you can actually create a bomb, whether you enrich or don’t enrich. And I think this is really something that has been missed a lot by the media, and I want to clarify that from the standpoint of a mediator.

MARGARET BRENNAN: So explain that. So the enriched material, things that could be used as nuclear fuel for a bomb, you’re saying Iran would not keep on their own soil?

MINISTER ALBUSAIDI: They would give it up.

To give up stockpiling enriched material of various grades is a concession that Iran has never before made. It would indeed make it impossible for it to create a nuclear bomb.

The U.S. however was not interested in a nuclear deal. Hours after Albusadi’s interview it joined Israel in a “pre-emptive” war on Iran.

jeremy scahill @jeremyscahill – 7:18 UTC · Feb 28, 2026

The term “preemptive” is pure propaganda. The U.S. once again used the veneer of negotiations as a cover to bomb Iran. Tehran had just offered terms that went far beyond the 2015 nuclear deal. What was preempted was diplomacy. The same propaganda tactics used in 2003 Iraq war.

Badral Abusaidi was left to expressed his disappointment:

Badr Albusaidi – بدر البوسعيدي @badralbusaidi – 12:04 UTC · Feb 28, 2026

I am dismayed. Active and serious negotiations have yet again been undermined. Neither the interests of the United States nor the cause of global peace are well served by this. And I pray for the innocents who will suffer. I urge the United States not to get sucked in further. This is not your war.

U.S. President Trump thought differently. In an 8 minutes long speech (vid) he announced several war aims like the destruction of Iran’s missiles, the destruction of its navy and to prevent the country from acquiring nuclear weapons it does not want. He called on the armed forces of Iran to lay down their weapons and for its people to overthrow its government.

For the Islamic Republic the war is thereby not about mere defense – but existential.

As none of Trump’s strategic objectives is likely to be achieved one might already argue that the U.S. has little chance but to lose this war.

So far the exchange of strikes has run along its predictable course.

The U.S. and Israel launched stand-off cruise-missiles against political and military targets in Iran. The compound of the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in Tehran, the Ministry of Intelligence, the Ministry of Defense, the Iranian Atomic Energy Agency, the Parchin military complex were hit. Iran’s leadership had moved to safe places and was not affected by the strikes. A missile destroyed the house of the former president Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, who has no role in the current government, and killed three of his guards. Several missiles, says Iran, have hit an elementary school in Minab, south Iran, and killed up to 60 children.

Iran responded by attacking U.S. military installations in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates with hundreds of drones and shorter range missiles. A long range U.S. radar in Qatar was hit as were U.S. Navy fuel depots in Bahrain. Several salvos of tens of medium range missiles were fired against U.S positions in Jordan as well as against Israel.

These first salvos with older, less accurate missiles are intended to draw out U.S. air-defenses and to entice them to expend their limited missiles supplies. There have been reports of several explosions in various places in the Middle East but it is too early to assess if these are the consequences of falling debris or real intended results.

One target hit by the U.S. side was the headquarter of the Hashid Shaabi popular mobilization forces in Iraq. It killed several people. Following that Hashid Shaabi announced to join the fight on Iran’s side. Missiles have hit U.S. positions in Erbil, Iraqi Kurdistan.

The Houthi in Yemen as well as Hizbullah in Lebanon are expected to also join in the fight.

The exchange of missile strikes is expected to continue over several days. the U.S. will try to eliminate Iranian missile launchers and production facilities. Iran will try to exhaust U.S. missile defenses to then launch its more precise and effective missiles against Israel and major U.S. (naval) targets. Iran already claims to have hit a U.S. supply ship.

But Iran’s main instrument in this war will be its control over the transport of 20% of the world’s oil supplies.

It has just announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz.

Michael A. Horowitz @michaelh992 – 15:30 UTC · Feb 28, 2026

#Breaking an official with the EU naval mission Aspides says vessels have been receiving transmission from Iran’s revolutionary guards saying no ship is allowed to pass the strait of Hormuz

Iran can control the Straits by simply firing land-based anti ship missiles.

By Monday fuel prices will have gone through the roof.

Oil prices are the major pressure point Iran has to cause effects within the U.S.

One wonders how long President Trump can sustain the war if the price of gasoline goes up and stays high.

The question is what kind of response can Iran muster and how effective will it be? They’ve had quite a few months to prepare, and should have had a pretty fair idea of the attackers tactics.

June 2025) We cannot let Iran have nukes! We will negotiate!

Also June 2025) Screw it, let’s attack during negotitations. Iran’s nuclear weapons program OBLITERATED!

December 2025) Isn’tReal says Iran cannot have ballistic or other missiles! (after getting pounded and trying their hardest to hide the damage in June)

January 2026) Bibi makes multiple trips to tell trump what Epstein kompromat they have on him and reiterates Iran must give up all (defensive) missiles.

Also January 2026) The US and Isn’tReal with help from regional proxies attempt regime change through a violent articulation the color revolution script. It fails.

February 2026) Trump says he’s negotiating again with Iran again on their missile program. Bibi says Iran can’t have nukes OR missiles (we thought the nukes were OBLITERATED).

Later February 2026) During “negotiations” Trump and Bibi launch Operation Epstein Fury without stating any pretext up front. A few Iranian schools are destroyed and hundreds of children die. Trump then announces that “intel” told them Iran was on the verge of an imminent “preemptive” attack that would have cost thousands of American lives!

Still February 2026) Oh wait, the hospitals schools were killed by errant Hamas IRGC rockets! See, we have geolocated “proof.”

Conclusions:

1) As if it wasn’t already abundantly clear the Goy-Jew Supremacist Axis is incapable of negotiations, let alone good faith diplomacy. The world should take notice.

2) MAGAtards at MoA mostly go silent. The MAGA movement – especially insofar as “America First”, “No New Wars” and “The Zionists don’t own us” is destroyed.

3) With Trumpstein and the GOP’s approval ratings in the toilet, Trump ponders and floats Executive Order and National Emergency pertaining to “foreign influence” in  upcoming mid-term elections. Most voters (especially in “purple” and “blue” districts must re-register to vote at the last moment.

Notably, the old Trump tweets begin to resurface in which he claimed Obama would start a war just prior to  mid-terms (which the Dems got slaughtered in)  and after his opinion ratings were also (though not as bad as Trump’s) in the toilet.

4) Next? Likely some domestic provocation sufficient to draw out enough protestors who can then be infiltrated or mistreated enough to take actions “justifying” martial law in most big cities, including in “red states” where a “swing” may be possible due to Trump and the GOP’s absolutely miserable polling.

Things are going to be getting very interesting here in the US of A, leaving aside that if Iran has learned anything at all, they will flatten large portions of Isn’tReal, destroy as many US military installations in the greater ME/SW Asia as possible.

Possible that Khamenei survived the strike but succumbed to his injuries. Obviously the Iranian government is more than just its head. My uneducated guess is the more old guys they kill, the more less restrained young guys come into the leadership.

The lesson for revolutionaries outside the US is pretty obvious. Invest heavily in bunkers, air defenses, and counter-measures.

it looks like Iran has confirmed Khamenei’s death.

this was the “big hit” Trump was banking the operation on   It’s neocon “head of snake” philosophy, born of idealistic ruminations that all things one wants changed in the world, could be, and that one person is forcing everybody else to do the things one perceives as bad.
You also see  this a lot with people with Jew tourettes, who think every percieved evil in the world would go away if Jews stopped existing.

It’s childish and simplistic.

THAT SAID, it is higly concerning Israeli and American intelligence was that good in Iran.  I would like to believe it was simple cell phone tracking, since that can be worked around, HOWEVER, since this thing touched off yesterday, I have been highly concerned why USA and Israel would go at this, unless they had more up their sleeve and some pretty good agents on the ground.

Now it seems my fears are confirmed.  Iran is still highly unstable, and has lots of Iranians who will sell out their country for a miniscule chance to fuck Taylor Swift.

THE BIGGEST SIGN Iran was not as solid as the MOA commentariat said was how quickly they agreed to a ceasefire in the 12 days war, which if you remember, I said I was afraid if Iran did not destroy Israel, it would be because they can not.  That appears to still be the case, at least not in any quick way.

PERHAPS Iran has their own Slo-mo in mind, where they harrass and destroy Israel over the course of years, making it chaotic and psycologically frayed.  But anybody expecting this to result in Iranian victory in a few weeks, I am afraid, is about to be let down, and chances are against Iranian victory at all, quick or over the course of years.

They’ve just declared western oil company infrastructure as legitimate targets. Looks like someone ‘calculated’ their way into escalation spiral territory.

Iran has announced that the Ayatollah has passed.

——

🇮🇷‼️ Statement of the Government of Iran following the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
“Those who have done wrong will know to what [kind of] return they will be returned.”
Honorable and proud people of Iran!

– With great sorrow and grief, it is announced that following the brutal attack by the criminal government of America and the vile Zionist regime, the exemplar of faith, jihad, and resistance, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, has attained the great blessing of martyrdom.ppppp – The righteous successor of the Spirit of God who, for more than 37 years of wise leadership, took on the pioneering and true flag-bearing of the Islamic front, and with exemplary courage and steadfast faith, ushered in a new chapter of governance in the history of Islam, and until the last moment of his blessed and historic life, led the Islamic nation against disbelief, tyranny, and arrogance.

– The proud martyr Grand Ayatollah Imam Khamenei, a model of sacrifice and resistance in the present era, was “the Imam of sincere promises, the Imam of hope and power” in the minds of the free, the oppressed, and the fighters of the world, and will forever remain immortal alongside the name of “The Great Khomeini” in the hearts of the peoples of the world. His comprehensiveness and mastery of contemporary sciences, wisdom, foresight, pure faith, sincerity in action, iron will, deep belief in his words, deeds, and goals, unparalleled courage, extensive religious knowledge, gentle and pure spirit, and hope and trust in the Almighty Creator were outstanding characteristics of this great personality rarely found in any political leader.

– The Government of the Islamic Republic of Iran offers its condolences on this great loss to the Honorable Qa’im al-Mahdi (may our souls be sacrificed for him), the noble nation of Iran, the great Islamic Ummah, and all the free people of the world, and in sympathy with the resilient Iranian nation, declares 40 days of public mourning and 7 days of public holiday.

‼️- This great crime will never go unanswered and will mark a new chapter in the history of the Islamic world and Shi’ism. The pure blood of this high-ranking master will gush forth like a roaring spring and will eradicate American-Zionist oppression and crime. This time, with all power and firmness, relying on the Islamic Ummah and the free people of the world, we will make the perpetrators and instigators of this great crime regret their actions.

– Our dear Iran, with the support of divine victory, united and single-hearted, will proudly pass through this difficult passage; for God is watching over our oppressive enemies and is the helper of the believers and the oppressed.

I should add the idjits that decided murdering the old man was a good goal, thinking they’ll declare victory now and the ‘opposition’ will take over the state will find themselves disappointed. They’ve just removed the one brake on Iran’s response. With Khamenei gone:
1) The government is unlikely to fall. Resilience has been baked in.
2) More hardline elements will have a freer hand, casuing responses that are far less proportionate and predictable.
3) there is no plan B if the locals dont rebel. They dont have a half baked rebel alliance to soak casulaties and no viable proxy force.
My guess is Trump will want to tap out now and declare victory. I doubt very much the vengeful Iranians will let him.

Pootin is next. He loves meetings.

From Chinese media

On February 28 local time, according to two US sources and a US official familiar with the matter, Israel and the United States chose to launch an attack on Iran on Saturday, coinciding with a meeting between Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his top aides.

Khamenei and his top aides, including Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s defense council, and Mohammad Pakpour, commander-in-chief of Iran’S Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed in the airstrikes, Israel said. Two Iranian sources said Khamenei met with Shamkhani and Ali Larijani, secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, at a secure location on Saturday shortly before the airstrikes began.

Earlier, a senior Israeli official said Khamenei’s body had been recovered. US President Donald Trump said in a post on his “truth social” platform that intelligence services had pinpointed the whereabouts of Iran’s supreme leader and then killed him.

There are some people here who would sell out their country for free. Anyways, Iran’s “retaliation” is almost criminally trivial under the circumstances. There is the usual “gates of hell” guff, but it’s from Iranians. They get a kick out of hyperbolic threats as much as President Trump does.

Maybe Russia is right to not want to ally militarily with the arabs. It’s like a broken record with these arabs. They’re dumb, refuse to understand their enemy and end up getting massacred. It’s just embarrassing at this point. I would maybe accept the cope that Khameini was old and accepted his martyrdom, but what about the rest of his family? He wanted them to die too?
Not to mention Iran’s decades long refusal to develop a nuclear program that would have prevented all of this.
Sorry if this is insensitive, but these people are losers who have dug their own graves. Soleimani was the only good one.
The ones who truly get it are the North Koreans. They understand the true nature of humanity and this world, and the evil within. There’s no dobut in my mind they would set America on fire at the slightest provocation and the Americans know this. This is why they don’t dare to touch them. Meanwhile the Iranians beat around the Bush and get their own children killed.

CBS reported on February 28, citing two unnamed U.S. officials, that about 40 Iranian officials, including Iran’s defense minister, were killed in U.S and Israeli attacks on Iran. The officials are believed to include Iran’s defense minister, Aziz Nasrzadeh, and the commander-in-chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Mohammad Pakpour, the report said. It was not immediately clear whether they were attacked at the same or multiple locations.Earlier, the IDF issued a statement saying that its air force launched strikes against hundreds of military targets in Iran earlier on February 28, including multiple “sites where senior Iranian defense officials gathered.” Six people, including Aziz Nasirzadeh, Mohammad Pakpour and Ali Shamkhani, secretary of Iran’s defense council, were killed in the first round of Israeli strikes.

I think Iran is about to retaliate in a way that makes the 12 day war look like a fireworks display. I think they will go directly after the vulnerable oil infrastructure, not that they will stop there. Then straight open or not, oil price will go through the roof. Its entirely likely the Iranians are going to be in such a mood. Not really like Venezuela at.all, actually. The assassination of Khamenei is going to provoke an escalation spiral.

The killing of the Ayatollah and the top leadership and the Iranian state/military not collapsing is bad news for the USA/Israel explains the long faces in the released photos of Trump, this was the gamble and it has failed. Now the war enters a new more unpredictable phase, the constant strikes on Gulf infrastructure will begin to take a toll and the AD ammo will begin to become a concern. I expect behind the scenes the Iranians are being told to stand down but there really is no incentive for doing so.

Although I have no interest in the operators of Intel Slava, I agree with their analysis:

If Khamenei died in his residence, it can only mean one thing: he chose this death himself.
Those who seriously believe that he simply didn’t think to go down to the bunker, or that his security service for some reason didn’t think to protect him against the obvious preparations for war, have probably never met a person who is fanatically loyal to his idea and his religion.

About kids being in school at Saturday:

I think you are predicting in anger.
For one, Iran launches everything, reveals all launch site.  Its a world where NATO can see every move, by satellite and agent, so,
I am going to go opposite, and say Iran spends years of constant, water-drip torture daily attacks.

This would be the unexpected, and put Iran in a competition of who could hold out longer, a mountainous country three times the size of Iraq?  Or a rhin strip of land on the mediterrainian coast dependent on desalinization plants

It would drive souls like GM crazy, which alone would make it worth it, but it would also introfuce a second painful tumor in NATO, that slowly, slowly kills NATO in tandem with Russia.

The attacks so far make sense for Iran, the closest US military infrastructure is being targeted first, also some economic/symbolic targets are being hit as a demonstration of possible further escalation if needed, the attacks on the US airbases should not go unnoticed they seem to be planning for this to go the distance. I expect behind the scenes ceasefire offers are taking place, the moment the state/military did not collapse after the leadership was taken out the gamble was lost.

Bravodo, lack of personal security, opsec, especially with family members.

In interviews with Iranian officials, you often hear them stating they dont care if they get killed bc of religious reasons, unshakable Iranian will, etc, while still living in the same apartment buildings and almost daring the Israelis and Americans to assassinate them.

With Hamas and Lebanon you see similar attitudes played out exactly as you’d think until their leadership is gutted. There’s even articles in Israeli and Western msm admitting that even if their targets practice opsec, they could still track them via their family members’ communication. It is not a coincidence Khamenei’s relatives were also taken out.

Unfortunately the Iranians did not learn from their allies’ mistakes and put in place systems and procedures to ensure this would not happen.

There are positives in the death of Kameni. Now Iran will open its territory to Russian military bases. Strait of Hormuz must be under Russian control one day. That will ensure the Russian fleet is safe. Any nonsense against it will mean closure of the Strait. India has proven once again it is an opportunist.

NATO cowards are too scared to have their dirty boots on ground. Iran should hold on. IRGC is not going anywhere.

Indeed that is true, karlof1 and very sad to hear that the Leader’s family have been killed, including a grandson.  That has been heavy on my mind and my thoughts and prayers are for safety especially for  all those children caught up in this madness.  I was a child in the big WW2 war, and even though it never came close to my home I remember when it would be dark looking out knowing that terrible things were happening outside that front window.

Last night just after midnight here, a very warm night for February, I happened upon that new far away war as early reports were coming.   I had a lengthy homily of an early churchman on my mind, part of which I wanted to post as an encouragement against war thoughts.  But I was too late – it had already begun.   I will go now to the old Open Forum and post a much shorter extract from that prologue

I wish with all my heart that Trump and his family, his team, should apologize to the world for what is happening.  They were trusted by so many in the United States to do what they had promised to do in the several campaigns that they ran.  Their souls are in jeopardy . I don’t worry for the Ayatollah;  he and his are safe.  He was a good man to advise against nuclear weapons.

God bless the Ayatollah and his dear family.

“We will decisively take vengeance on murderers for the death of the Supreme Leader of Iran,” IRGC said in a statement cited by IRNA news agency.

sound cool, but is it true?

If it were true, why did Itan not simply have its officers open their sealed orders, which said, “burn it all down”

Why wait to take more damage, already, before this great retaliation you predict is coming?  If what you are saying is true, we should have already seen a barrage that made the skies of Tel-Aviv look like a meteor ahower, and yet, it looks like one of the lesser days of the 12 days war.

If the Iranians gamed this out, they surely had half the scenarios starting with a decap strike, so what they are doing now is the plan.

No one could predict, only 4 years ago at the start of the much beloved (at least by the MoA gerontocracy) SMO, that the “decadent”, “mollified” Imperialist core could manage to liquidate the entirety of its peripheral opponents (many of them several times over) with a few casual sweeps.

And that’s without counting entire countries that are preemptively self-enslaving, in the hope of surviving a few months…

Typical observers (possibly myself included) would have dismissed the mere hint as a baseless fantasy.

On MoA, universal condemnation and a probable ban would have ensued.

And here we are, with pretty much everything accomplished, whilst Grand Strategists still explain the path to the final apocalyptic rendition (to be delayed as much as needed).

In the meantime people are being massacred, without even the right to reclaim the “purity” of their martyrdom, because somehow they remain attached to the use of a few pyrotechnic toys.

At this point, as I already wrote before these last events, victims have only to patiently keep dying, looking at a future where executioners get finally bored.

In the same way as Professor Pangloss and his clones, who already “lost interest in the Palestine crisis” (their words), today babble senile, echolalic delusions about Iran…

And tomorrow will convert to Zoroastrianism or perhaps some cult from Bali, new centre of the World Resistance…

Without forgetting plentiful popcorn, of course…

I think it is hard for people of the West to understand how other cultures/religions view death, in the West it is to be prevented at all costs even if doing so makes life not worth living.
This killing/martyrdom will only help to fuel the beliefs/revolution this man dedicated his whole life for, you can agree with his beliefs or not but by killing him he got exactly what he wanted, becomes further fuel for the revolution.
