What is, actually, the evidence for this? I didn’t see any in the linked item.
To me the main connection between events in Gaza and in Minnesota is that, as I have read, ICE people have been sloppily recruited and then trained by the IDF.
 
All law enforcement really requires a lot of training. ICE was established in 2002. That is plenty of time for the agency to have developed and trained a qualified force. What happened ?
 
As for the red heifers, the quote only proves that Jews have a generalized sense of guilt, but one that doesn’t put much of a dent in their consciences. Not that they regret what they have done to the Palestininans (or the Lebanese, or the Iranians, or the Syrians, for that matter).  Their most important holidays seem to be devoted to going through a few rituals to divest themselves of guilt and the possibility of any negative emotions’, such a remorse, sticking to them and spoiling their day.

It has been going on for MUCH longer than that. My dad quit the force in 1965 because of what was happening and what he had seen. This was in Edmonton. And from his telling, it was an old practice then. And ‘quit’ was not his ‘choice’, but his only choice once he made a fuss. He was still regularly harassed by his previous ‘colleges’ after.   
 
There are no good cop until there are no bad cops. And the bad cops run off the potentially good quickly. And my dad was not all that ‘good’, just far more humane than the rest of the force. He would not just ‘keep quiet’.

And at the top the government is nothing but the Mafia.  Canadian government has spent decades harassing a family I know over a P.E. Trudeau, Martin, Chretien, etc. meeting.  A friends dad was high in the Ottawa bureaucracy. The minutes taker for the meeting was missing and the meeting needed someone to document it. My friend knew shorthand and his dad suggested he could do it.  Nobody remembered to have him sign the relevant NDA papers.  So when he saw what criminality they were discussing doing, he took it all to the newspapers.
 
Newspapers did not run ANY of it. Not a wod.  Police came and took all his papers, after forcing their way in without warrant. His dad and sister were fired from their government jobs days later. He has been audited and harassed ever since, kind of showing it is the Government itself that holds the grudge, not the parties or individuals.
 
The State. The mob with better PR.

I found that tweet on nakedcapitalism this morning.  I did a whole “fact check” search and found that there are at least 5 confirmed reports of detainees being released into areas like local parks or wooded areas away from the dentention centers and/or neighborhoods since the beginning of the federal “Operation Metro Surge” in Minnesota.  They were released without their cell phones, coats, or IDs.  One of these detainees did in fact have a skull fracture when he was found.  There are many other reports from other detainees and the hospital staff who treated them, but yes –  only five that have been totally confirmed by multiple outside news sources so far.   Five is five too many if you ask me, and the fact that there are others who are “pending confirmation” does not automatically indicate untruth of their stories.  
 
There are currently three lawsuits in the court system brought by detainees who were abandoned this way.  One guy was dumped 7 miles from home after dark and told to start walking.
 
These incidents have mainly occurred near the Whipple building where ICE holds the detainees.  The problem became so noticable that there is now an NGO group called Haven Watch that has volunteers sit by the Whipple Building to look for detainees being released at odd hours in the night into the freezing cold weather.  The group offers warm clothing, food and rides home for the released detainees, who otherwise would have been left to walk home in the middle of the night.

I am therefore inclined to believe this is an actual problem in Minnesota’s ICE operations and that these issues were noticed starting in Dec.2025 and continuing into today.  I did not bother to copy all the articles and fact-checkers I looked into this morning and I am not going to go back and cite them all now.  But I can assure you that the information in the original tweet looks to be true; it may not involve hundreds of cases, but it is happening nonetheless. 
 
As for wanting to “see actual evidence from now, not from another location and another time”, I don’t know what that means.  The date on the tweet is January this year.  What are you seeing in the tweet that makes it look like the date is incorrect?  And what makes you think it is from a different location?  You think it is not referring to Minnesota?  What are you seeing in the tweet that makes you think that?   I am honestly asking. 
 
The news I cite above is from Jan 28, 2026 (Haven Watch) and Jan 31, 2026 (Star Tribune), so both of those sources verify that this is a current problem in Minnesota and not some nonsense from Sweden or Pakistan in 1965 or 1842 (or whatever you are thinking the different time and place is).
 
I gather you find the assertion from  “young Somali-looking woman in an X tweet” to be dubious.  If it is because it is posted on X, I get that.  It’s why I did my own sleuthing.  If it’s because the young lady is “Somali-looking”, well, that indicates you have a racial bias that I wouldn’t even try to address here.

He also seems to think oil buried deeply under the ground in difficult to access terrain is something that can just simply be marketed.
 
No wonder he has tiny hands. He never did a day in his life where he had to actually use them for anything else other than signing his signature. He has consequently no experience in understanding what is involved in oil extraction, and how it can take years to tap oil. That’s why many oil companies are hesitant to get involved.

I didn’t work in a trade until I was 30. I got a valuable education in the world of manufacturing and making tangible things. Deadlines, prototyping, quality control, estimating, scheduling, etc.
 
I see people talk about stuff in politics that has no connection to the reality of manufacturing or processing anything.
 
Trump is one of those guys. He can BS his way in and then speak in the abstract, so he doesn’t get exposed.
 
As soon as the discussion becomes technical, he’s the guy who offers to pay for lunch at a titty bar to distract and ingratiate himself with the guys.
 
I don’t know what Putin does and does not know, but he can speak extemporaneously and with specificity. He’s kinda genius like that. Or he studies the pertinent subjects relentlessly all day, every day.
 
It is very Western to have a salesman as a leader. Not a scientist, not a poet, not a philosopher. Someone who can manipulate people. Someone who can sell a dud and convince people to invest their life’s savings. To encourage their children to die in a faraway land that no one involved, including the President, can find on a map.
 
Trump is just one model of American shyster. There are many, but this is entertaining.
 
The perfect fall guy.
 
People will insist he is the greatest President ever until they die. Others will insist he is Satan incarnate.
 
Everyone will be too emotional on the subject of Trump to coldly analyze what happened and who was to blame.

I must admit to feeling the same way. Even though it is wrong, knowing that Iranians will suffer and only a very few volunteer to be martyrs.
Partly because all “agreements” the West makes not to attack Iran feel like shams that just draw out the agony and also favor Israel.
Part of me wants the punishment of the West/Israel, the purge of the evil there, and the revenge for previous US/IS atrocities to begin ASAP.

In Australia we call such a person a “bludger” but we also have many in politics with little practical training – its a professional class now with many post-political career opportunities, often in the MIC.  Mostly the word bludger is used in Australia on those out of work that depend off social security who receive a pittance these days, but it’s actually the big guys at the top that milk the government money big time and avoid paying fair taxes (if they pay them at all). Having read the book (last Trump time around) called “Too Much and Never Enough” written by Trump’s niece, it seems that his father was very good at milking the government system to build many apartment complexes in NY. I get the sense that trump continues with the family tradition but with a wider field he can draw from.

Yet documents obtained exclusively under Freedom of Information laws by Declassified Australia reveal that a confidential “running commentary” was indeed being provided to the Prime Minister internally from within the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT).
Before and after President Trump’s inauguration, cables were being sent between Washington and Canberra in relation to the Trump Administration’s position on Gaza and the ‘routine information only’ reads exactly like a ‘running commentary’.
The running commentary about the intended fate of Gaza included: 

• the incoming US National Security Agency (NSA) chief Mike Waltz talking about Israeli achievements in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran;

• President Trump talking about “cleaning out” Gaza and urging Jordan and Egypt to “take on” about “a million and a half” refugees from the territory; 

• Trump inviting the Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu to the White House, the first foreign leader to visit since the inauguration and likely the only one the subject of an international arrest warrant; 

• the President refusing to rule out deploying US troops to remove the Palestinians;

•  Trump publicly stating “we’re gonna take over that piece [Gaza] and we’re gonna develop it, create thousands and thousands of jobs…I envision world people living there [Gaza]; the world’s people. I think you’ll make that into an international, unbelievable place … the Riviera of the Middle East”; 

• President Trump doubling down on his proposal for the United States to take over the Gaza Strip, claiming Israel would hand the Strip over to the United States at the culmination of fighting, without the  need for American troops to be involved; 

• Saying that Gaza would “be given to us [the United States] by Israel”;

• Trump further elaborating his Gaza plan to clarify that Palestinians would not be able to return to Gaza after being relocated elsewhere. 

 
The running commentary extended to President Trump’s threats to cut aid to Jordan and Egypt if they refused his demand to permanently take in most Palestinians from Gaza. Trump said on 10 February he would consider withholding aid to Jordan and Egypt if they did not agree to the United States “taking over” Gaza and the forced displacement of Palestinians under his plan, and posted to Truth Social an apparently AI-generated video that offers his vision for transforming the Gaza Strip into a resort enclave.
