A few thoughts about the upcoming Iran attack by the US. At this point it’s very clear that the hard hawks have completely take over and they will want to destroy the ballistic missile program and the nuclear program. Now alot of brainless yters like Ryan McBeth have said that the attack will be bigger than in the 12 day war and other crap like that but i am conviced that Trump really doesnt want a long war and neither does the US military. There have been an endless amount of articles from sites like the NYT talking about the commanders and how they know they cant force a regime change with just bombing. Also every ally in the Persan Gulf is scared shitless of an Iranian Samson like protocol where if they actuall manage to bring them close to collapse then they would be shooting at all the refineries and oil rigs in the area including at the tanker ships which would cripple energy production in the region and straight up destroy the economies of the Guld countries. Ofc the man to gain the most from that other than the Big Yahu is Putin who would make a shit ton of money selling oil and gas at premium prices but also he would greatly benefit froM the weapons that will need to be diverted to the middle east.
Now Trump spoke to Xi today and they talked about Iran, i know China is a known do nothing junkie but i cannot imagine that they wont try to atleast supply Iran with old air defense missiles

Nobody said this was a “reveal.” Yasha Levine (the author) wrote a book years ago which delved into it, among other topics related to and including the Pentagon and Internet.

Anyone else following the negotiations between Iran and the US? The on again, off again, dynamic is insane. The USDoS has been demanding that the ballistic missile program be discussed, Iran refuses, it was initially cancelled by the US over this and the US diplomats “did not expect Iran to say no,” despite this being a non negotiable for 11 years now.
Now, Trump without any decisive military moves a la Venezuela, sent Witkoff to Muscat, agreeing to not discuss the ballistic missile program on Friday at 10 am. Iran is vowing to walk out if this is brought up. Israel is demanding the US puts this in the discussion. Trump is threatening Khamenei. But Iran is willing to dilute its fissile material to 3.67%.
The peace president continues his march to regional war in the Middle East, while Turkey, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Egypt all are demanding that the US respect’s Iran’s sovereignty.
Are we walking into a quagmire that will expose the weakness of our fleets?

Crooke said in his latest with Glenn Diesen said that China had a communication ship moving into place for joint Iran, China and Russia naval exercises.
I looked and last year the exercises started on March 10 and I read that this year’s may start late February.
I can’t find if China and Russia ships, other than the Crooke reported communication one, are on the way to Iran and how soon they may be hanging around the US ships in the area currently with more supposedly on the way……..the Tin Can war, eh?

This statement is obviously inaccurate.
There is no reason to chose this specific level of dilution.
Because there is no problem with the 60% enriched uranium according to the Treaty of Non Proliferation.
The problem is the quantity of high enriched uranium, that can be quickly turned into a military use.
If the goal is to dilute the most part of what they already have into less enriched uranium, the threshold of 20% would be enough.
There is also the option to dilute it to the level of combustible use of about 5% for their soon to come nuclear reactor at Bushehr.
But it’s also obvious they will keep some high enriched uranium for medical uses and research. It is just a question of quantity.
And there is no need and no reason to send it in Russia.

From what I can tell, US investors are doing their best to cause Gold and Silver prices to crash. So far China and others have bought the dip.
From the reports I have read (well watched), basically US investors of gold and silver have paper stating they own so much gold and silver. Chinese investors have actual gold and silver. It is not clear that the US has enough physical gold and silver to pay out all the paper. So someone may get stuck with worthless paper. The higher the price of gold and silver, the more US investors lose (the ones left holding the bag if bad things happen).
So US investors seem to working in teams to sell massive amounts of gold and silver in a short period of time to induce others to panic sell. So far, it has not worked out so well as prices seemed to have rebounded quickly.

Zevon’s albums are also extremely well recorded/engineered. Kind of like Steely Dan in that way. Meticulous studio work and very high fidelity. “Audiophiles” have played a role in keeping them both relevant. My wife hates Zevon (I used to blast Werewolves of London on my giant JBL Synthesis line speakers – don’t ask how much they cost), and I’ve kind of tired of him myself, but SD still has a couple of really good tunes mixed in with their “meh” stuff (which all still sound excellent, recording wise).

Yeah Bacharach was a visionary or icon of sorts. Super talented arranger/composer.
I believe it was both his version and Warwick’s that influenced this. Another version of “Walk on By” done by a Bristol (UK) progenitor to the Massive Attack, Tricky and Portishead wave of British “trip hop” – influenced by Caribbean and Atlantic immigrants to England from the former island colonies – or whatever the sLimeys called them.

They taught Babylon Sisters in a music production class I took. We had to use a multiband eq to isolate each instrument on the track. Hardest one was the snare, of course, but that’s how meticulous that production is. Each instrument is located so well between the right frequencies. Also Teenage Popeye is something I never heard before, thanks for sharing them! 80s punk doesn’t get better than DK for me though

FWIW Teenage Popeye was literally a nobody West Texas punk band that mainly toured the SW and Panhandle of Texas. I would bet a lot of money that you’ll never meet anyone besides me who’s ever even heard of them.
I played with several of the At the Drive-in members in previous projects but STEM took priority over music. Marching and lab band were too time consuming for an EE degree (at least to ADHD me at that time in my life), but I never stopped being passionate about music for any long stretches. I have ZERO chops left and consider it a dead deal (like downhill skiing – sadly).

I did like Helmet during early college and am still good friends with a few of the guys who were in this band in Austin. They were a tight unit and all really talented at their instruments. Surprised they never hit it big, but maybe that type of music was a decade too late. Maybe too “melodic” and not “thrash” enough, I have no idea. For me I was a little past this phase, musically.

The greek word psyche doesn’t mean spirit, but rather means soul . The word for spirit is pneuma (which also means wind, or breath.) So, your name becomes soulhistorian — or, if you prefer pneuma: wind-, spirit-, or breath-historian. Any one of those would be equally apt. I rather prefer “soul-historian”, since it is with the soul that one blesses, or magnifies, or rejoices. I think of soul as one’s entire inner being.

I’m Gen X and living in bum fuck nowhere as an adolescent/teen unwilling member of a pentacostal religious cult my options were limited. I’m sure y’all lived in more metropolitan/cosmopolitan places, but UWDude (where’s he been?) would probably empathize with me – did any of you get your initial introduction to punk from “The Decline of Western Civilization” docu flick directed by Penelope Pheeris and the soundtrack? I had a chance to meet her at the Austin Film Society’s theater in the mid 2010s after a limited invite screening and it was fun. Couple members from a few of the main bands profiled in the docu were on hand (many have died) and fielded questions from then “yuppie” (or whatever we were at the time – PMC dildoes) idiots like me and the rest of the audience after the movie was screened. I still love the soundtrack.
