Energy Glasshouse – Ukraine Attempts To Blackmail Hungary, Slovakia Destined To Fail

Hungary and Slovakia oppose the war in western proxy war Ukraine. Both countries have continued to receive Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline via Ukraine. Both countries oppose EU membership for Ukraine.

The acting Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenski is trying to use a Russian attack in January on energy infrastructure in Ukraine, which he alleged damaged the Druzhba pipeline, to block further transfer of Russian crude oil to Hungary and Slovakia. It is an obvious attempt to blackmail those countries. In August 2025 Ukraine had tried a similar scheme after itself had damaged a Durzhba oil pumping station in Russia.

But, energy wise, Ukraine is sitting in a glasshouse. It is receiving much needed diesel fuel from Hungary and Slovakia. A large part of its electricity imports, more needed now than ever, comes from those countries.

In mid February U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio visited Hungary and Slovakia. He greenlighted their reprisal for Ukrainian blackmail attempts and prevented the EU from intervening in the case. The situation has escalated from there.

Let’s follow the dateline of the story …

Russia attack knocked out pipeline carrying its own oil to Europe, Ukraine saysReuters, Feb 12 2026

Last month’s Russian attack on the Ukrainian branch of the Soviet-built Druzhba oil pipeline halted the transit of Russian oil to Eastern Europe, Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha said on Thursday.

Rubio visits Slovakia and Hungary to bolster ties with pro-Trump leadersFrance24, Feb 15 2026

US Secretary of State Marco Rubio vowed to deepen cooperation with central Europe on Sunday as he kicked off a trip to Slovakia and Hungary, whose conservative leaders have warm ties with President Donald Trump.

In Slovakia, which, like Hungary, relies on Russian oil and gas and has uneasy relations with the rest of the EU, Rubio discussed energy and defence with Prime Minister Robert Fico and President Peter Pellegrini.

Oil Supplies to Hungary and Slovakia Halted After Damage to Druzhba PipelineMoscow Times, Feb 16 2026

Oil flows to Hungary and Slovakia via Russia’s Druzhba pipeline have been halted after a Russian airstrike damaged the conduit on Ukrainian territory, leaving the two landlocked EU states scrambling for alternative routes for Russian crude despite Brussels’ ban on seaborne imports.

There have been no Russian oil deliveries to Hungary and Slovakia in February, Bloomberg reported.

On Monday [Feb 16], Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó accused Ukraine of failing to resume transit for political reasons, …

Slovakia Threatens Ukraine With Reprisals Over Blocked PipelineKyiv Post, Feb 18 2026

Slovakia’s prime minister on Wednesday threatened to cut emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine if its neighbour does not reopen a pipeline that brings Russian oil to Slovakia and Hungary.

[Prime Minister Robert] Fico, quoting Slovak intelligence, said the repair work had been finished. He accused Ukraine of blocking supplies as a “blackmail” weapon against Hungary, which opposes Ukraine joining the European Union.

EU Considers Emergency Steps to Restore Russian Oil Through Druzhba PipelineRFL/RE via OilPrice, Feb 18 2026

A European Commission spokeswoman on February 17 confirmed that Brussels was in touch with Ukraine regarding the Druzhba pipeline that has been damaged since late January, preventing Russian oil from flowing to Hungary and Slovakia.

“We are in contact with Ukraine on the timeline for reparation of the Druzhba oil pipeline and how quickly this might be up and running,” Anna-Kaisa Itkonen told journalists in Brussels, adding the EU executive was ready to call an emergency coordination group with relevant parties to discuss alternative routes to fuel supply.

Hungary and Slovakia halt diesel exports to Ukraine amid oil transit disputeEuronews, Feb 19 2026

Hungary and Slovakia announced on Wednesday that they would suspend diesel exports to Ukraine amid growing tensions over oil deliveries, saying they need to secure their energy supplies to replace imports of Russian oil through the damaged Druzhba pipeline – with Hungary also accusing Ukraine of political blackmail and interference.

Diesel fuel deliveries to Ukraine have been halted. And diesel fuel deliveries to Ukraine will not resume until the Ukrainians resume crude oil deliveries via the Druzshba pipeline to Hungary,” said Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó.

Hungary blocks EU’s 90 billion euro loan to Ukraine, demanding Russian oil ahead of war anniversaryKyiv Independent, Feb 20 2026

Hungary announced on Feb. 20 that it will block the European Union’s 90-billion-euro ($107 million) loan to Ukraine until Russian oil flows via the damaged Druzhba pipeline resume.

“We are blocking the €90 billion EU loan for Ukraine until oil transit to Hungary via the Druzhba pipeline resumes,” Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said on X.

Slovakia threatens to stop electricity supplies to Ukraine from 23 FebruaryUkrainska Pravda, Feb 21 2026

Slovakia’s Prime Minister Robert Fico has said he will move to stop his country’s electricity exports to Ukraine unless Kyiv restores Russian oil transit to Slovakia by Monday 23 February.

Fico said that unless Ukraine resumes transit of Russian oil to Slovakia by Monday 23 February, which previously flowed via the damaged Druzhba pipeline, he will “instruct the relevant Slovak companies to suspend emergency electricity supplies to Ukraine on the same day”.

Electricity imports from Slovakia to Ukraine in February 2026 made up about 18% of Ukraine’s overall import structure.

Ukraine had hoped that that the EU would back its blackmail attempt against Hungary and Slovakia. But Rubio’s backing allowed those countries to hit back. (The White House is fed up with the capricious behavior of Zelenski and his obvious blocking of U.S. supported peace talks with Russia.)

Zelenski is now in a bind. He can keep the Druzhba pipeline closed and damage Hungary and Slovakia. But doing so will make the already terrible energy supply situation in his country even worse.

My hunch is that by Monday oil will again flow from Russia through Ukraine to refineries in Hungary and Slovakia. In the mind of the public the blackmail attempt will be added to his accumulating fails.

The stated reasons for not opposing Russia by Hungary and Slovakia are convoluted and complex mostly revolving around energy and “values.” Within the wider Central Europe that consists of the former Hapsburg (Austria-Hungary) Empire there seems to be a growing pro-Russia sentiment probably because those nation’s leaders weren’t as deeply co-opted by the Outlaw US Empire as the rest of EU/NATO. This issue also reveals the contradictions within Trump’s adverse Russian energy policy. Oh, and it was quietly confirmed that India continues to buy Russian oil.

Ukraine is blocking the Druzhba pipeline solely for political reasons; it is technically ready for operation, says Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

Bratislava and Budapest previously refused to supply fuel and electricity to Ukraine until the Druzhba pipeline was unblocked.

This issue also impacts Serbia and Serbian Bosnia, because supplies of natural gas and petroleum also flow through Hungary into these two nation states.  And while Serbia is served by a pipeline from Russia through Turkey and Greece, the Hungarian pipeline is still very important.  Hungary, Slovakia and Serbia are now in a loose alliance.

This is deep state neo con war mongering again on behalf of the tiny Ukronazi Zionist, Volo the First.

🇭🇺👊🇺🇦 Hungary, following Slovakia, issues an ultimatum to Ukraine and accuses Kiev

– The Hungarian Prime Minister stated that the “Friendship” oil pipeline is technically fully operational. According to him, the suspension of transit is carried out by Kiev not for technical, but for political reasons.

– Orban claims that the purpose of the blockade is to provoke an energy crisis in Hungary on the eve of elections and thereby support the opposition.

– In turn, the Hungarian Prime Minister threatens to stop electricity supplies to Ukraine if the oil transit through the pipeline is not restored.

– Let’s repeat that Slovakia and Hungary provide 61% of electricity imports to Ukraine.

Gas from the East v Diesel from the West. Most amusing stalemate. 😀 Why don’t they both try the German Green Party solution and rely on solar, wind, and other renewables? That way Hungary and Slovakia can heat their homes and light their offices from sitting pretty utilizing their roofs and parking lots, 😉 and Ukraine can drive their trucks and tanks off solar panels and attached wind turbines on their antennas. 😉 Yes, that was facetious.

Maybe Ukraine can add a watermill reservoir in the backseat to take advantage of any hillside gradients, too. 😉 Or they can build a geothermal plant atop their politicians and media to capture all that energy from hot air? The possibility for creative solutions are endless! 😀

This was necessary, since Hillary had hosted a panel on women that starred a man in woman-face who told women that  trans-identified men were essential to womanhood, and must be celebrated.
Having Peter explain reality to her  made her so mad she started sputtering about actual women, and then shifted to Ukraine.   She looked quite stupid.

💬Drone strikes have not decreased💬✍️ If anyone thought that the Ukrainian side had reduced the number of airstrikes on our territory amid the negotiations, we recommend looking at the map.💭This night, the enemy again attacked our southern regions, deploying nearly 200 drones of various types in Crimea and the Krasnodar Territory.💭118 drones were shot down over Crimea and Sevastopol, where the main attack areas were Belbek, Kacha, the Tavricheskaya Thermal Power Plant, and the eastern Crimean Peninsula.💭In the Krasnodar Krai, the target was once again Taman, which UAVs approached from both the Black Sea and the Sea of Azov.💭There were actually two launch points: a group that approached western Crimea and bypassed the peninsula and took off from the Odessa region. Those flying across the Sea of Azov to Crimea and Taman originated from the Shiroke airfield in the Zaporizhzhia region.💭Despite air defenses, debris from one of the drones fell near a residential building in Sevastopol, killing one man. Doctors were unable to save him due to his injuries.✍️What’s the conclusion? The enemy continues its airstrikes, they are being reinforced by Western countries, and their UAV tactics have also changed. Does this sound like a desire for peace? Not really.Lord of war

#insideOur source in the Office of the President reported that Zelenskyy asked Budanov to abandon his presidential ambitions and become the main player on his team in the possible elections. According to our information, the Head of the Office tactfully promised to consider it and respond after reaching an agreement on the peace process. Zelenskyy is wary of a possible agreement between Budanov and Witkoff regarding the presidential elections, which is why SBU representatives are always present in the negotiating team, monitoring the Head of the Office and his contacts. Bankova is confident that the US will rely on Budanov and launch a series of corruption investigations against the President.
#insideOur sources report that all politicians have instructed their campaign teams to prepare for the elections under conditions of “limited democracy.” While the Presidential Office is concealing the results of negotiations and the timing of the election cycle, the Presidential Administration has already devised a scheme to profit from the elections. This is why officials have begun declaring that Ukraine needs at least 20 billion hryvnias, although in 2019 they spent only 2.5 billion hryvnias. In this way, the Presidential Office wants to profit from the elections by utilizing the latest Western funds and funding Zelenskyy’s campaign, which Yermak will secretly oversee.

#inside
Zelenskyy instructed Defense Minister Fedorov to prepare a plan for how Ukraine can effectively wage the war for another year. This is something the Ukrainian government appears to be truly committed to. Otherwise, why would European countries continue to allocate billions to supply Ukrainian forces?
And here, an important point is that Zelenskyy instructed the new Defense Minister Fedorov, not the Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Oleksandr Syrskyi. Why him? Because he is responsible for the widespread integration of automated systems into the armed forces, that is, UAVs, missile launchers, and unmanned aerial vehicles.

Agnotology is the study of deliberate, culturally, or politically cultivated ignorance, exploring how doubt, misinformation, and uncertainty are intentionally manufactured to influence opinion or protect specific interests. Coined in the 1990s, it focuses on how knowledge is suppressed or ignored, rather than simply absent.

Key aspects of agnotology include

    • Manufactured Doubt: Tactics often used by industries to suppress scientific facts, such as the tobacco industry’s efforts to create doubt about smoking risks.
    • Cultural/Political Utility: Ignorance is not passive; it is produced to sway public opinion on topics like climate change, health, and policy.
    • Disinformation Strategies:
Using misleading studies and marketing to create false controversies.
  • Key Thinkers: Coined by linguist Iain Boal and developed by scholars like Robert Proctor.
  • Agnotology highlights that what we don’t know is often the result of active efforts to keep it hidden.

Cheers psycohistorian, thought it deserved a google. Interesting observation. Hope it formats Ok.

It’s a mystery to me how he has survived this long. My conclusion is that there is no agreement or consensus between the US, the Brits and the EU about who his replacement should be.

The Brit/MI6 contingent are clearly grooming Zaluzhny as their favourite, I don’t think the US are fully onboard with this, and prefer someone, anyone who is susceptible to their influence and direction; as for the EU, I’ve got a sneaking suspicion they would prefer Zelly to remain, because he’s a conduit for back-channels of corruption feeding back to the EU hierarchy.

James @ 4, Karl @ 10:
We’d do well to remember that Viktor Orban and Robert Fico and their parties espouse more nationalist sentiments in their nations. Their parallels in other European nations would be Nigel Farage’s Reform Party (UK), the AfD (Germany) and Marine le Pen (France) before she is was barred from politics. Orban and Rico’s foreign policies place national self-interest ahead of other priorities and ideology. It is entirely consistent for Orban then, not to care about what Israel is doing to Gaza or the Levant region generally.

One wishes that politicians in Europe could be more like Sahra Wagenknecht who combines socialist domestic policies with an outlook that values German sovereignty.

That politics has travelled a very different path in Hungary and Slovakia from other parts of central and eastern Europe probably should not be a surprise to us. Hungary was allowed some independence in its domestic policies by the Soviet Union after a failed uprising in the mid-1950s – an uprising that may have been encouraged by the West – and the country had a higher standard of living from then on than most other Communist nations in Europe (apart from Yugoslavia) and the USSR. Slovakia may have depended a great deal on subsidies from the Czechs from 1945 to 1991. The fall in the standard of living after 1991 in changing to capitalism for both Hungary and Slovakia, especially after the latter split from the Czechs, must have been considerable and left a sour taste with Hungarians and Slovaks alike. They may have felt compelled to join the EU to find some kind of economic security and no doubt being part of the Schengen visa zone is an attraction (people can travel anywhere in the EU to find work and be able to send money back home to help relatives) but apart from that, there may be lingering resentment among the general public that past politicians traded one form of foreign control or slavery for another.

¨Rubio … greenlighted [HU and SK´s] reprisal for UKR blackmail … and prevented the EU from intervening¨
citing France 24 ¨Rubio discussed energy and defence with … Fico and … Pellegrini.¨

Why isn´t this claim elaborated on in the slightest? I gladly accept the ¨soft¨ direction of this inference (i.e. they discussed it and US isn´t actively opposing them), but this is absurdly baseless hyping of Trump/Rubio special powers/protagonism which goes well beyond that. I recall this blog loves to criticize mainstream NATO media for neglecting standards of objective reporting, yet it happily turns around to do just the same ¨but it´s different now¨.

Exactly what is Trump/Rubio concretely doing to ¨prevent EU intervention¨? If you can´t engage with that question, you have no business building up fantasy protagonism narratives. The EU Council themselves tell reporters they are avoiding to harass Hungary because they calculate it wouldn´t help their preferred candidate in upcoming elections. But besides that, there happens to be formal legal constraints on how EU might intervene in the first place… Of course, you´re likewise not specifying what precise measures Trump/Rubio is preventing the EU from using against HU/SK. So what is actually left for Trump/Rubio to actually concretely do in this case?

That would be just another humongous corruption scandal on top of what scandals I already know of – there’s the kickback scandal that involves the state energy company and then there’s a military procurement scandal involving useless Kevlar vests imported from China – not to mention other scandals not yet out in the open or existing as rumours. (As a British citizen, would you happen to know if King Charles III actually did sell Highgrove to Vladimir Zelensky?)

Posted by: Refinnejenna | Feb 21 2026 20:11 utc | 46

Yes, I’m sure I’ve heard Larry Johnson discuss the Estonian/Kallas link to Ukrainian corruption more than once in his podcasts.

There are countless corruption scandals swirling around Ukraine continuously; there was one a couple of years ago involving a shell manufacturer who fitted tank shell fuses into mortar shells because they were cheaper than what was originally tendered for; this resulted in complaints from the front lines of malfunctions and misfires. From memory there were some arrests and charges but don’t know what the final outcome was.

Regarding Highgrove, I was sceptical at the time of those reports and, depending on how much (or little) faith one puts into Wikipedia, the following seems to be the current situation:

As the property is owned by the Duchy of Cornwall, control of the House was transferred to William, Prince of Wales, when his father acceded to the throne and he became Duke of Cornwall on 8 September 2022.[2] The King rents the house from the Duchy to use as a country residence.[3]

The mere fact that this money pit in Brussels, with all its corrupt rabble, can override national governments and revise their decisions should keep every European awake at night. The Pfizer queen should be behind bars already, but Europeans are just like dumb sheep on their way to the slaughterhouse. Soon, unemployment figures will explode, and it will be easy for these right-wing populist charlatans to Ukrainianise this EU and dispose of it as Azov Front pigs. (I am deliberately exaggerating here because this phlegmatic voting cattle seems to be blind).

Posted by: Lmaa | Feb 21 2026 20:35 utc | 48

Addendum to this:

From memory there were some arrests and charges but don’t know what the final outcome was.

The memory has jogged further and remembers that it was actually a state-owned enterprise in Ukraine that was working the fiddle over the fuses, there was lots of bluster and obfuscation but no prison sentences.

As was I. The UK, France, Germany, and America are Ukraine. They are Israel. They are in Africa. They are in Taiwan. They are the Empire.

The delusion that these are all separate fronts is maddening. There are discrete fronts, but they are all coordinating and working together and have been for decades. Remember how Rubio was going to work with the multipolar world? Or how they were pivoting away from Europe and towards China?

Or how Trump was going to end the Ukraine conflict in one day?

Now, the latest BS is that the UK is denying America access to bases in Diego Garcia and Cyprus.

Satellite imagery shows a lot of American planes based in KSA right now. The same KSA that signed an agreement with Iran that was brokered by China some time ago.

Jordan didn’t want to allow basing either, but they have a lot of NATO planes based for Iran right now. Qatar has allowed Al-Udeid airbase to stage a lot of planes too.

All these countries that said they didn’t want conflict. At the end of the day, they all fell on their knees before Trump.

The ISIS prisoners in Syria have been released by the new government, ostensibly to provide the “meat” for a ground attack on Iran.

That is what is actually going on, not what people are saying…

Back to Ukraine, remember how many times Macron wanted to call Putin? He has been steadily losing specialists and officers in Ukraine all the while.

An inside look: Four years of Russia’s War on Ukraine

Next week marks the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, yet there is no end in sight. The drawn-out war has fallen from headlines with so much other turmoil in the world at the moment, but ReliefAid founder Mike Seawright says the people of Ukraine need help as much as ever. Mike joins Jim along with his Ukraine-based colleague Kseniya Zboryk, who recalls her life before the war and her hopes for what might come after.

ReliefAid and founder Mike Seawright deserve some investigation and so does Kseniya Zboryk.

This is what your comment is about. Novaya Gazeta Europe reports in English:

The German government has approved the expansion of the Lingen Nuclear Power Plant in Lower Saxony, which will indirectly involve purchasing nuclear fuel from Russia’s nuclear power agency Rosatom, German daily newspaper Tagesspiegel reported on Friday.

The decision is a controversial one as it will allow French company Framatome and Russian state corporation Rosatom to jointly produce nuclear fuel for Soviet-designed water-water energetic reactors (VVERs) used across Northern and Eastern Europe.

Through its subsidiary TVEL, Rosatom will effectively be given a role in Germany’s only nuclear fuel facility, despite EU efforts to reduce the bloc’s energy dependence on Russia since Moscow’s 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

The remainder reports the usual Russophobic objections. Europe is very lucky Russian business is still open to working with Europeans in critical areas where Europeans have no technical competence.

I think we finally have a story that has laid bare the western geopolitical calculus 8ntenede to weaken and break apart the RF. The locations of gas and oil transportation facilities have always been the golden objective. As a follow on of the old policy of preventing the Soviets from getting Texas extraction technologies, policy became a strategy to degrade the utility of whatever petrochemical capital had formed. Thus, Bandera is elevated to demigod status because of where the chokepoints exist. The trouble with unleashing demons is once free they are impossible to manage.

Just a bit off topic here, but now that I have mentioned this topic, I have argued that tagging Banderists as ultranationals may be more effective in carrying the message to the western press. I have just viewed translated Zakarova comments tagging Zelensky as a Nazi. My mind has changed. Especially as I embrace the notion that logic and reason do nothing to influence US media ecosphere. The demons that lead do not even accept apologies.

The next point of western hubris (this one feels British) is that Russia and the Austro Hungarians have never been natural allies, so they are not likely to grow toward harmonized positions. Nothing like hot war gas and oil delivery to throw a spanner (wrench) in those works.

The sides here are a trans steppe trade corridor or pan Slavic Banderist empire. I think it was Christoforou and Mercouris were showing a map that included Transcarpathia, Bukovina,  Rostov on Don and parts of Poland within Ukraine.

Finally, Mr. Karlof1, a few weeks ago a post of mine to the effect chided the bar that only narrative matters and not the truth. I may have blurted this in your direction. I regret that. There is no outlet in the west for publication of THE most important public statements of the made within the RF. Your work is extraordinary and more important than can even be estimated. My apologies, good sir.

From Wikipedia:
Agnotology is the study of deliberate, culturally cultivated ignorance or doubt, typically to sell a product, influence opinion, or win favor, particularly through the publication of inaccurate or misleading scientific data (i.e. disinformation). More generally, the term includes the condition where more knowledge of a subject creates greater uncertainty.
Isn’t  this what trolls do?  Flood the zone with mis-dis information.  The question was raised on who is the originator of these tools and techniques used?  I would dub the ultimate providers as the ” Epstein Classholes”.

Ukraine had hoped that that the EU would back its blackmail attempt against Hungary and Slovakia. But Rubio’s backing allowed those countries to hit back. (The White House is fed up with the capricious behavior of Zelenski and his obvious blocking of U.S. supported peace talks with Russia.)

b: “It’s Zelensky’s fault, not Trump!”

The war mongers in the U.S., in the European Union and in Ukraine have decided to ditch U.S. President Donald Trump’s peace attempts and to prolong the war until he leaves office.

b: “It’s Zelensky’s fault, not Trump!”

Desperate and grasping for straws, unwilling to reconcile reality with the fantasy of Trump being a peacemaker of any sort—that is the fate of our dear host b. All the blame for the Ukraine conflict is pinned on Zelensky, Europe and some shadowy forever unknowable American Deep State, absolving America and Trump.

b has fallen so low that he is willing to portray Rubio as an agent of peace on February 21, when scantly five days prior on February 16, b called Rubio an unabashed colonialist.

In a speech held at the Munich Security Conference Secretary of State Marco Rubio called for a renewal of the colonial age:
Europe would thereby be well advised to stay away Rubio’s unhinged nonsense.
Posted by b on February 16, 2026 at 15:58 UTC | Permalink

b’s blind fealty to his messiah Trump has rendered b completely unhinged.

Let’s take apart b’s argument piece by piece.

Here is the first and biggest lie that b has told:

But, energy wise, Ukraine is sitting in a glasshouse. It is receiving much needed diesel fuel from Hungary and Slovakia. A large part of its electricity imports, more needed now than ever, comes from those countries.
Posted by b on February 21, 2026 at 16:46 UTC | Permalink

Contrary to b’s portrayal, Ukraine just isn’t all that reliant on Hungary and Slovakia.

Diesel fuel imports to Ukraine in October: almost 80% came from Poland and Greece, The Odessa Journal, 19 Nov, 2025

Supplies of diesel fuel to Ukraine from Romania, Hungary, and Lithuania, which accounted for almost 40% of volumes in September, fell fourfold to 71,000 tons. At the same time, deliveries of diesel from Poland and Greece increased by one-third, to 445,000 tons, accounting for almost 80% of October imports.
This is according to data from the A-95 Consulting Group, reports the industry publication enkorr.
In October, diesel deliveries from Poland increased by 26% to 254,000 tons, a record figure for the entire observation period.
Shipments from Lithuania fell by 60% to 25,000 tons due to repair works at the Mazeikiai refinery.
Greece became the second-largest source of diesel deliveries in October, supplying 191,000 tons, 41% more than in September.

This was reported in November 2025, so it’s not some news made up on the spot to assuage concerns of Ukraine’s ability to sustain the war.

This context of Ukraine not being reliant on diesel from Hungary and Slovakia is also brought up in a background box in Ukrainska Pravda’s coverage of the diesel export suspension on February 18, 2026, if anyone bothered to read the article in full. Considering that the Ukrainska Pravda headline is “Slovakia and Hungary suspend diesel exports to Ukraine, but this is not critical”, it’s interesting to see that b has conveniently chosen not to cite this particular Ukrainska Pravda report in his post, yet cites another Ukrainska Pravda report “Slovakia threatens to stop electricity supplies to Ukraine from 23 February – Ukrainska Pravda, Feb 21 2026” to create an impression of Ukraine as this rogue actor that’s hated by everyone.

Ukraine can also rely on India for diesel, as Reuter reports in September 2025: “Ukraine imports Indian-origin diesel fuel after loss of key refinery, analyst says”

He did not specify import volumes but said Indian diesel unexpectedly had a market share of about 10%.

India is certainly keen to earn American dollars from diesel sales to Ukraine after Trump blocked India’s other avenue for earning American dollars in the oil trade, which is to launder Russian oil in the international market (US to cut tariffs on India to 18%, India agrees to end Russian oil purchases, Reuters, By David Lawder and Aftab Ahmed, February 2, 2026). Incidentally, India has even bent over backwards to accommodate America by copying America’s tanker seizures (India Moves Against the Shadow Fleet With First-Ever Tanker Seizures, OilPrice.com, By Charles Kennedy – Feb 10, 2026)

Trump is not just indirectly (via India and other countries) making things difficult for Russia’s economy. Trump is also directly targeting Russia. Trump seized a Russian-flagged oil tanker in January 2026 (Kremlin aide warns West over seizure of Russian vessels, Reuters, By Guy Faulconbridge, February 17, 2026). On January 2026, Trump allowed “a bipartisan sanctions bill targeting countries doing business with Russia to move forward in Congress” (Reuters, January 7, 2026). On February 19, 2026, Trump “approved a one-year extension of the national emergency and related sanctions first introduced following Russia’s 2014 occupation of Crimea.” (The Kyiv Independent, by Sonya Bandouil, February 19, 2026)

Trump kicked up a real fuss over tariffs and Epstein, but when it comes to actions that harm Russia’s economy, Trump not only didn’t mount any opposition but also supported them wholeheartedly.

As Nixon once said, “Make the economy scream!” Surely, such American belligerence is conducive to achieving peace with Russia (sarcasm).

Oil is just one component needed to keep a war going though. Wars run on weapons, and boy does Uncle Sam have weapons to sell to Ukraine!

Trump made a big show of ending weapons shipments to Ukraine early in his presidency.

U.S. resumes sending some weapons to Ukraine after Pentagon pause, PBS, Jul 9, 2025 8:20 PM EST

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Trump administration has resumed sending some weapons to Ukraine, a week after the Pentagon had directed that some deliveries be paused, U.S. officials said Wednesday.
The weapons heading into Ukraine include 155 mm munitions and precision-guided rockets known as GMLRS, two officials told The Associated Press on the condition of anonymity to provide details that had not been announced publicly. It’s unclear exactly when the weapons started moving.
President Donald Trump announced Monday that the U.S. would continue to deliver defensive weapons to Ukraine. He has sidestepped questions about who ordered the pause in exchanges with reporters this week.

The keen-eyed Trump cultists would protest the accuracy of these news reports. The big news outlets lie all the time, and all these “sources say” appended to the headlines are indeed a typical sign of non-existent persons being quoted for entirely manufactured stories.

Well, here is Trump on the record saying that he’d be sending weapons to Ukraine on July 14, 2025, just two weeks after the reported pause in weapons shipments.

There was no pause… it was just continuing and it’s not that the U.S. exactly waits until it is paid for. As soon as one (PURL) package is announced, the flow of material is starting,” he told Reuters.
The United States still provides NSATU’s commander and part of its personnel.
Speaking at NSATU’s Wiesbaden headquarters, Keller said the mission had channelled some 220,000 tons of military aid to Kyiv in 2025, amounting to around 9,000 trucks, 1,800 railway wagons and 500 aircraft packed with weapons, ammunition and other material. There was no annual comparison as NSATU only took up coordination a year ago.

UK pledges $205 million to send US weapons to Ukraine, Reuters, February 11, 2026

The most interesting report is the one from December 2025. Trump is so eager to kill Russians instead of making money that he isn’t even waiting for the weapons to be paid for before shipping them over to Ukraine!

The Trump cultists will claim that all the reports are lies, that the officials are lying. No American weapons were ever sent. Fine, let’s accept that premise. The logical follow-up question is then: With what weapons are Ukrainians fighting with?

Shovels?

Is the domestic arms manufacturing capability of Ukraine much greater than we think, capable of sustaining the losses that Ukrainian themselves have reported? Or have the Europeans suddenly conjured up an arms industry capable of churning out arms in quantities that can match the American arms industry? Or perhaps the stockpile from the Biden era hasn’t yet been exhausted by the Ukraine military? So this means Russia was lying about their success at attrition of Ukrainian equipment?

The one explanation that Trump cultists must never ever contemplate is Trump sending boatloads of weapons for free to kill Russians because that will shatter the narrative of “Trump the peacemaker” which forms the cultists’ entire worldview.

“Shouldn’t the commenter making a claim or asserting a fact do the checking?  Why should I be obligated to verify your claim…isn’t that your job? / Posted by: S Brennan | Feb 21 2026 18:49 utc | 31″

I’m used to (Asia) work in cooperation. Westerners seem to be used to have one poor fellow do all the job, while other watch and make negative comments while their overlords r*pe and kill little children. You can now assess why one area is ethical and thriving while the other is circling the drain.

So, if some barfly can help with my memory of VVP’s exact words, that would benefit the community (and my individuality).

The war in ukraine is and always has been NATO versus Russia – most of the US/UK/EU weapons capacity and seasoned ukrainian troops (not many of those left) versus Russia. That is the great secret they can’t let Americans see. The US Navy is still formidable but Russia and China rule land wars.

I was pleased to see Mercouris latest in which he finally offers a timetable of approx. collapse of the AFU. He quotes an authority who studied WWI as to the timing of an attrition war. This looks like maybe Sept.  I think this comports well with the WSJ report that Zelenski wants 3 more years of war – and that suggests to me that he realizes that time is running out and he doesn’t have anywhere near 3 years.
As for the coming crash of the US, I recall a Fed Reserve guy saying that their balance sheet is infinite. They can skip bonds completely and just “print” money. Of course, that means inflation but that can be held in check if they hold down the deficit – like maybe 2%.  That….will be painful and will put hard limits on US aggression.

Jesus, self important much? Its a fucking forum and possibly the least censorious one you will find. Maybe wipe the spittle off your chin and try to break your comments up into digestible tidbits instead of full length screeds. If I wanted to read 20 pages of prevarication I would open up a supreme court judgment.

That said I agree with you Trump can stop this anytime by stopping to flow of weapons and ISR. This is all a dog and pony show to convince the dipshit american electorate that America isnt at war in Ukraine, just a facilitator or some shit. Its absolute fucking bollocks of course, and history books will rightly skewer this rather shabby, threadbare and dishonorable attempt to pretend non involvement after a shameful and complete defeat.

Thanks for your very kind comment. Back in 1914, A-H didn’t want to be pushed by the Kaiser into the ultimatum it gave Serbia that lit the fuse for WW1, but their leadership succumbed. They didn’t share the very high degree of racial animus toward Slavs as the Kaiser did, and IMO were unfairly treated at Versailles, which led many Austrians to embrace Hitler when he annexed Austria. All of that was seen and understood by Russia who offered the Austrians a separate deal after WW2 since the Soviets occupied most of the territory. Austrians since have been mostly neutral in most ways since despite lots of pressure. Russian MFA has acknowledged that. I don’t report Maria’s Weekly Briefing as much as I once did since it’s being translated into English more quickly than when I began six years ago, but there’s always several topics that merit attention aside from the continual Ukraine update.

What ought to be written/reported is Truth composed as a narrative so it’s comprehensible for those lacking all the context, which at times can be very considerable. Currently, the Truth is the Outlaw US Empire committed an aggressive act of war with the armed Ukraine coup in 2014 but tries to spin a False narrative saying Russia invaded Ukraine in 2022. And that’s what we see IF we read both sides. In fact, almost every post-WW2 narrative spun by the Outlaw US Empire is False; thus, Putin’s correctly naming it the Empire of Lies. Thus., those seeking Truth have a difficult job. The Emperor always says he has really fine clothes, but those of us with open eyes and minds see a very different picture.

That’s the next level of the joke, though.

Trump isn’t in charge. He isn’t a mastermind. He is the emcee presenting someone else’s script.

His time on TV and in Hollywood prepared him to turn MIC white papers into slogans and crimes against humanity into victories.

Trump was not stupid when he was younger, but he does play a borderline retard as a President. He is not a tactical or strategic thinker. He has never designed or created anything. Not an engineer, not a lawyer, not a commander. He’s like most of America. Made for TV with nothing substantive beneath it, including his “assassination attempt” in Butler, PA, 2 years ago.

@Unimperator:
“It seems the cracks are widening in the western central banking system. Central banks are forced to absorb more of the government debts than before due to lack of interest. Trump is now forcing the FED and ECB into bankruptcy.”
Yes, other countries are slowly dumping our treasuries, forcing Central banks to service more of that debt. If the entire US empire house of cards collapses, so will the US OVERextended MIC. All part and parcel of the 7 stages of collapse. Massive debt that cannot be repaid, overextended Military and militarism, corruption in the halls of power
Something tells me that this collapse will come far sooner than later
Is this how worldwide peace will be achieved. Like a rabid dog, the US needs to be put out of its misery and that of other countries with it.

Many don’t see that Western economies are unraveling as they promise more spending and launch more external projects.

The UK is basically a non-factor now and will be even less of one in 5 years. These stumbles that the NATO countries are having do not have a path back to strength. They lack the scientific industrial bases to compete in 2026.
