Regime Change Riots In Iran Fail Faster Than Expected

Just two days ago I opined that the riots in Iran would lead nowhere.

Iran Shrugs Off Another Round Of U.S./Israel Sponsored Regime Change RiotsMoA, Jan 10 2026

I especially pointed out that the U.S. had delivered Starlink satellite terminals to organizers of the riots – 40,000 of them is a rumored number – but that the Iranian government had acquired the means to detect them and to shut down their traffic.

Just a day later Forbes reports that the government did indeed used its new tools:

‘Kill Switch’—Iran Shuts Down Starlink Internet For First TimeForbes, Jan 11 2026

The Iranian government did not bother to track down single terminals but used the new Russian and Chinese equipment to shut down all Starlink traffic in Iran. Packet loss rates of 90% have made the connections unusable.

Today pro-government marches are held in all major cities of Iran. They are much bigger than anything the opposition could ever assemble. The Iranian system has again demonstrated that it is astonishingly stable. Not one official has changed side.

The riots are, for now, over. The streets tonight will likely be quiet. During the next weeks the riot leaders and instigators will be tracked down and punished – harshly one hopes in sight of the casualties on the government side.

The total blocking of Internet traffic and international phone communication in Iran was the decisive step taken to end the riots.

Without Internet access the CIA/Mossad agents directing the rioters were unable to command and control their on-the-ground forces. The lack of ‘horror’ propaganda videos from Iran, submitted via the Internet and used by the media to rake up support for western intervention, is also important. Color-revolutions à la CIA require these tools.

In 2022 the wave of U.S. induced protests in Iran took nearly three month before it subsided. This wave, started on December 28 by a massive short-selling attack on Iran’s currency, took just two weeks before it died down.

Trump, who had threatened to bomb Iran in support of the rioters, will have to pull back. The U.S. military says that it is not ready (archived) for the revenge Iran would unleash on it.

The failing of this regime change attempt shows that the methods used in it have become too obvious and can be countered. It will likely take a while before new methods are developed and new attempts will be launched.

The 7 k a post zionist twaddle for pro coup has really reached saturation on the socials. How much it cost to pump the failed message of mossad cia. The great nation where Christians Jews and Islam live happily together must really irk the evil ones , such a hard reality to try to dissolve . Jews and Islam peaceful in Iran lol .

HK & Belarus were equally regime change preparations set off far far too early to ever achieve anyting in HK or Belarus.  But HK 2019 was reported as Chinese authoritarianism (falsely) and tipped the 2020 Taiwan election.Belarus 2021 preached Russian authoritarianism and prepared Ukraine and Europe for the intended attack by Nato on Donbas and Crimea (loudly pre-announced by Zelensky but ironically pre-empted by the SMO).So what is Iran for?  CIA/MI6 have just burnt one hell of a lot of investment in early stage revolution.  Why?For Israel sure, but what happens next?  Or has US run out of games to play?

All of the REAL “horror propaganda videos” can now be filmed in israel and the US. Obviously, the mass murder of innocent men, women, and children in israel and police brutality and the ruination of millions of lives through free market capitalism in the US. Go to any US city and you can film homelessness, poverty, and crime all day, every day.

Hopefully, this fedslop flop will be remembered by listeners to Pacifica Radio. (That’s “Pacifica” as in standing for peace, founded by a conscientious objector.) Totally infiltrated today by shameless Zionist agents such as Brian Edwards-Tiekert and Amy Goodman, pushing hard to rationalize an imminent attack on Iran, in the holy name of imperial wokism. By their fruits shall you know them — in particular, who’s been signing their paychecks.

IMO, it becomes mandatory for BRICS and others to ban Starlink as Iran has. The next move is to kill its constellation as it’s clearly an Imperialist tool having no real peaceful function. The proliferation of AI-fakes is also a rising problem that must be combatted somehow. Musk must become personna non grata globally.

Posted by: karlof1 | Jan 12 2026 16:06 utc | 13

This shows once again that technological progress always has a “dual use.” When there were only copper cables and cable internet, no smartphones, no streaming, such things were not possible because propaganda and hate speech could always be traced back to their source.
It’s good that a solution has been found in Iran, even if the internet (only wireless or everything??) has to be blocked, which in itself causes major problems in everyday life when you also do your banking online.

Posted by: karlof1 | Jan 12 2026 16:06 utc | 13

That’s going too far, especially since if it’s not Musk, someone else will do it.The only solution I see is an alternative Starlink network and shutting down the unwanted one. But the dilemma runs deeper: without censorship, it won’t work in cases of targeted abuse.

it is not “support” for a state to recognize two simple things: 1) everyone has the right of self-defense from western circumcised Nazi trash 2) Iran, like VZ, Cuba, etc., etc., would not be where they are today if not for the imperialist powers seeking to destroy them.

I don’t support Iran. I support Iran killing every Western asset in Iran. and the Iranian people deciding their own future.

the function of the priest is “transubstantiation.” that’s how the folks committing genocide in Israel et ubique become freedom likers when they install ISIS in Syria. or install a Nazi regime in Kiev. or run the world thru their terrorist allies in the mid east petro states. or starve dozens of countries of food and medicine. or have IDF trained Nazi goons terrorizing the populace and murdering people in the name of “purity”.

Violence will have been instigated just like in Syria at the begining of the civil war when dozens of police were killed in Jisr al Shughur, and in Maidan, Kiev, Ukraine, when even the BBC said the shooting started from the protesters side. Professor Katchanovski said Maiden shooting was a “false flag.” This is the playbook and starlink is used to amplify the propaganda.

Golly! It also occurs to me how brilliantly b shines, in all of his recent posts about the dust-up in Iran, compared to a fabulous Zionist narrative which has consumed the lion’s share of “alternative” as well as the entirety of “mainstream” news outlets.

These teachable moments in history separate the wheat from the chaff; teach us which voices are phony, and which are authentic. Now I understand.  I’m slow, but thank you, b.  Shutting down the entire internet was what needed to happen in Iran, indeed.  Some of us knew that;  some were slow like me.  My thanks to karlof1.  It’s very hard to keep up with the news these days, and it will probably get harder.  We need to rely on those we can trust; very much so. Especially when things like our own communications become weaponized.  We even see it beginning to happen on this very blog.  It cannot be proofed against imitations; we have to remain vigilant.

This was an important lesson for us all.  We saw what happened tragically, harmfully, with phones in Lebanon.  This is the larger aspect of that, and so many of us were fooled by the imitations, which were necessarily being faked but bogus, the way a snapshot of a dear departed one, or a recording is .  How dispicable to weaponize that!  How destructive.

Thank you, b.

Tthe “Mighty Wurlitzer” of the MSM was certainly activated across the weekend, trumpeting presumed protester death counts against images of fiery streets, detailing advanced plans for humanitarian intervention and the fall of the regime. The messaging and narrative coordination, across the media, is impressive, even if it should be short of accuracy.

The BBC offered a prime example with breathless accounts of brutal indiscriminate regime violence as described by unidentified “medics” and “doctors” who took time out from caring for the wounded to speak with BBC Persia via “Starlink satellite connection”. They described “direct shots to the heads”, “eye hospitals” in “crisis mode”, bodies stacked in morgues and prayer rooms, with cruel regime authorities shaking down bereaved families.

Fortunately, the report continues, the US asserts that “killing protesters” will be met by a “military response” which could lead to “freedom”.

“An eyewitness who joined the protests on Thursday and Friday nights in Tehran told BBC Persian Television that Gen Z Iranians have been instrumental in encouraging their parents and older people to come out and join the protest marches, urging them not to be afraid.”

@ 36 unimperator Re tomahawk fail.
Yes tomahawks have a large failure rate.
Recall the strike on Syrian Air force base Shayrat in 2017 during Trump’s first term. 60 missiles launched.  Only 23 strikes.  US claimed the base was wiped out. Yes some damage was done to 6 aircraft, a fuel storage area and Mess hall. But runways and aprons were intact one remaining fuel are intact.   Syria had  base was back in operation 24 hours after the strike.
Then in 2018 an even larger attack was launched at Syria with over 100 missiles. Main things hit were an education facility and a Clorox plant. Which was said to be producing chemical weapon grade laundry bleach.
Syria attacked and liberated the southern areas held by ISIS of the country the next morning

It’s been shown in the past that the Supreme leader is more than capable to quench protests using violence.
It’s easy to put all of blame on this on cia/mossad but people in Iran do have legitimate reasons to be protesting right now.

The Persians and the Russ need to link their nations together in a mutually beneficial strategic partnership that incorporates an interdependence that is unbreakable.  This is a doable thing, an attack on one is the same as an attack on the other.  Persians need jobs, Russia has jobs begging, Russia needs commercial/military access to the Indian Ocean.  China might not like the deal but, China has not had to deal with what Russia/Iran have endured so…go pound sand China.

We need balance to have stability in this world, in spite of their past wars, Persian and Russ must unite to counter balance the excesses of the aforementioned parties.

Well … it was written as the few images we got were already telling. The rioters were not armed , nor a lot and not very organized.
My take is most of the “sleeping cells” in the general population were used and already caught last summer during the “12 days war”, the residual elements were not enough to distribute money and promises “en masse”. The riot by petrol bombing mosques and attacking police/security forces was a dissuading element to gather broader support inside Iran for a coup by the same two countries that bombed them last summer..
Then the most definitive factor that played the undertaker role for this uprising was the usage of “the sha” … c’mon : stop with that guy , he’s cringe AF.
So yeah ; it failed … it’s not even a surprise. The main question is still in the air : Why do they attempted this right now ?
Not enough work with Syrian and Lebanon ? New attack of Gaza and massive deportation plans to , so called , “Somaliland” on the way ? (There is untapped Oil offshore of Somalia BTW …), the suspect death of an Israeli public Attorney with a plea to a certain “Mileikowsky” guy to pull under the rug ?
I’m just hoping this won’t trigger desperate measures from the foreskin-less Führer …

The plan this time was to invoke Maidan-style protests with armed terrorists used to shoot up innocents and security forces. But once the comms were cut and directions ceased, their actions dwindled and their comms links were used to locate and arrest them. Kurds and MEK were again used as proxies. The failure and clear support for the government and Supreme Leader will perhaps cause a hesitation in the planned attack on Iran.

Pentagon Tells Trump It Needs More Time To Prepare For War With Iran

Senior Department of War officials have told President Donald Trump they need more time to consolidate American troops deployed to the Middle East before the US launches an attack on Iran..”Trump has been warned that the US military needs more time to prepare for strikes against Iran.” Military commanders in the Middle East stated they need to “consolidate US military positions and prepare defenses” in anticipation of an Iranian retaliatory attack

The real reason Elon lowered those starlink satellites’ orbit is because of the weakening of Earth’s magnetic field due to the approaching pole flip and micronova. The satellites are like the canary in the coal mine. A minor solar flare could trash them all. And it will. Just not yet.

That’s our problem, because we can’t be sure that we’re trusting the right people.
I remember the cattle disease in England, when English meat was no longer allowed to be exported (officially), but it still happened. Then the stupid slogan “buy from your trusted butcher” appeared on television. No indication of how consumers could check this, they were left in the dark.
The old adage applies here too: “Trust is good, control is better.”

🇮🇷| WATCH: Iran has invited ambassadors of the UK 🇬🇧, Germany 🇩🇪, Italy 🇮🇹, France 🇫🇷, and several other countries to watch the videos of armed “rioters” killing people and convey it to their foreign ministers. This is kind of a uno reverse, if you know what I mean. @FotrosResistancee

Picture is not so clear from where I am looking:

US is still circling.
Expectations are so high that to back down will be awkward.
Iran says over 100 security personel killed, so there is an idea of the sort of conflict that has been going on.
Pro-protest prop is estimating 4000 civilians killed.

Meaning, I would agree that protests are quelled for now, and that sentiment is largely with current leadership (on question of overthrow), however, and as which much else in the region, what occurs next is not given, matters are not at all settled.

@68,
Exactly. A military alliance is long overdue but for some reason, its still not happening. Both nations could support themselves just fine (Russia could offer Iran the nuclear umbrella that they need while Russia can get qualified people from Iran instead of those from Central Asia which are highly problematic with their right wing nationalists).
It also doesn’t make any sense why China wouldn’t agree to it or not support.

Seems pretty clear the monarchist wing is thoroughly defeated.  They seem to be foreign astroturf, almost exclusively. The reports that the Iranians have cut off Starlink all at once rather than terminal by terminal are intriguing. How did they do that?

If the so-called bazaari class stands firm it is basically all over until another unpredictable eruption of frustration. The Iranian bourgeoisie is no more able to solve capitalism in Iran than the Americans can for the world. The reports that the morality police have eased up a lot is also interesting. The clergy is not all that popular, but how do you resist them without falling prey to someone worse, namely, America?

That said. Black clouds are accumulating on the horizon for Trump. So just to clarify, in his previous article b quotes a WaPo piece where David Ignatius said Washington has not deployed StarLink in Iran because it was jeopardize the Mossad and CIA smuggling routes, which is in itself a huge confession. B would have done of it and said quite reasonanly that this is a sure sign StarLink has been deployed. So if some outlet is now saying Starlink is on its way to Iran I guess that means they are on their way out. Yeah yeah, circling and circling, that is what the US Navy does, as it operates mainly on water. But it seems to be going wrong big time. The US Air Force had high hopes of using Starlink in the Arctic, so what now? According to b, China and Russia can hack it. If so, why wouldn’t they be able to hack any military communication system too? And more storm clouds: as for VZ and the high hopes there, this is an interesting article from the French Libération (translation by DeepL): The vast reserves of black gold in the South American country coveted by Donald Trump are mainly composed of a substance similar to tar. Their exploitation would be highly polluting and could face significant obstacles, particularly financial ones

The. Ayatollah remains incredibly popular. Not Putin or Xi level but much more than Trump is in America. The Ayatollah makes a point of regularly visiting Christian families to have tea.

As evidenced by the pro government rallies, these Zionist shenanigans only serve to bind the people closer to their leaders, like children clinging to their parents during a thunderstorm.

Not everywhere are leaders as alien and isolated as in the West. There was a time when Trump would stage photo ops with the Hoi Polloi, but he no longer bothers. He’s too busy running Venezuela now.

Thank you for linking to Crooke’s SCF piece. Being overall pessimistic (typical Crooke), it ends with a pinch of hope. Candace Owens might be one of the young people he has in mind. I didn’t know this lady until recently, she strikes me as quite courageous:
“I so clearly remember having a conversation with Charlie about what was happening in Gaza which he obviously felt was morally wrong but also believed he could somehow broker peace between differing perspectives. I told him to forget the politics— there are basic rules of the jungle; people that will mass murder innocent children and lie about it will murder us too. There’s no allying halfway with sheer evil. It’s amazing that people don’t realize this and think America will somehow be kept safe if it keeps cheering on Israeli war crimes all around the world. As though that chicken won’t come home to roost. Of course it will. As they have done many times in the past, Israel will murder Americans and our offspring too. We are dealing with a biblically murderous tribe that are not in any manner or form guided by Judaic belief. Be sure to cheer this worldwide neocon shit on at your own peril.”

You sound sad, maybe take a nap. You are utterly pathetic in your attempts to make yourself feel better by lashing out like an intellectual wet noodle at your perceived opponents, like an obnoxious drunk. Do your writings pass for wit in the circles you frequent? Someone seems to have their feelings all in a bunch. Simps for regime change in Iran who somehow ignore the graveyard the IS and Israel has made of Gaza are going to find it difficult to gain traction amongst thinking people. So sorry.

Lowering the orbit of Starlink will increase drag on  the satellites and reduce their lifespan.
Great – more drain on the Empire’s budget.
Also it might make them more vulnerable to anti-satellite weapons…

Russia can shut down Starlink at will in Ukraine. The reason they dont shut it down completely is it is easily hacked and they use it to guide their own drones. Russia has been using Starlink for quite a while as old article shows below.

Thanks JB, to answer your question, because China is buying a lot of Iranian oil which Russia, for obvious reasons, does not need.  China would like to keep Iran wholly dependent.  All empires behave in their perceived self-interests in spite of what the world’s Dumb-asses say, China is no different.  And speaking of Dumbass…

Honestly, when it comes to irony….our village Dumbass has no peer!  And as for his record breaking number of calls for censorship well…that cements his position as this blog’s most prolific brown-shirter.  Hey Dumbass, I hear that Germany’s foreign intelligence service [BND], is looking to expand it’s internet censorship footprint, you should apply and cite your work here endlessly calling for censorship and your ability to censor others by “shouting” them down with your endless verbal diarrhea

Who knows Dumbass, maybe you could find a like minded friend at the BND? And Lord knows Dumbass, you need a friend!  And I don’t mean another one of those voices who talk to you inside your head…a real friend.  And should you ever find that one friend…my prayers go out to that fool.
