But even he hasn’t figured out that the SDF has been occupying vast areas of the Jazira province that aren’t inhabited by Kurds,  but by Arabs, including Raqqa and Deir ez-Zor. In other words the situation is much like that of the Kurds in Iraq for over ten years, until they were knocked back by the Iraqi govt back to the present borders of Kurdistan KRG.  Now the SDF is being knocked back by the jihadis, no doubt as far as the territory actually inhabited by Kurds. And the US is supporting the jihadis rather than the Kurds.
 
A few days ago, the SDF actually blew up the Euphrates bridge at Raqqa in a desperate attempt to keep the jihadis out. Won’t work. The inhabitants of Raqqa, having supported ISIS in the past, don’t like Kurds.

Israel has not responded either, but the source said that “Israel has significant reservations about a number of these understandings,” particularly the clause that allows Hamas to remain politically active in Gaza. The report was published hours before US President Donald Trump signed his ‘Board of Peace’ into existence. I want to express my deepest sorrow and solidarity with the Palestinians. 
 
The scale of the slaughter and suffering is beyond comprehension. The cruelty, the brutality, the stolen lives. Children are killed and mutilated, Young women and men are murdered, starved, maimed and tortured. A nation where the streets smell of blood. Humanity says, “May their memories be a blessing.” We said that every day because Israel massacres the Palestinians daily since before 1948 and has never stopped. 
 
But today and then, that feels painfully insufficient. Their memories must be a moral imperative for the downfall of Israel—to the dead, the tortured, the imprisoned, and the millions still trapped under tyranny and genocidal entity.   
May their memories bring justice. 
May their suffering strengthen our resolve.
