Through his charitable foundation, Steinmetz has poured money into the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), including “adopting” a unit of the Givati Brigade, buying equipment for them. During Operation Cast Lead in 2009, the brigade carried out a massacre, forcing dozens of Palestinian civilians into a house in Gaza, bombed the house, and prevented ambulances from approaching. Rescue workers who eventually found their bodies also reported seeing the words “The only good Arab is a dead Arab” daubed in Hebrew on the remains of the building.

Through the separatists in southern Yemen, the UAE, in cooperation and coordination with Israel, is playing a role in pressuring Saudi Arabia to accept a settlement and make concessions on the issues of normalization, Palestine, Syria, and Lebanon, given Saudi Arabia’s political influence on the official diplomatic scene in both countries.

The UAE has a naval base in Somaliland overlooking the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, and following normalization between Somaliland and Israel, it is expected that construction will begin on an Israeli military base overlooking the Red Sea opposite Yemen.

The UAE has already completed the construction of airstrips and naval bases on Yemeni islands in the Bab el-Mandeb Strait. If normalization occurs between Israel and the separatists in southern Yemen, Israel will find ready-made land to establish a military base, whether covertly or overtly, close to Houthi and Saudi areas, and overseeing maritime trade routes in the region.

Egypt is considered one of the biggest losers in the Israeli expansion in the region, specifically in Yemen and Somaliland, as the Israeli presence in that region will affect the Suez Canal in the future.”

Yes, but he raises a difficult question which has not been answered properly:

The entity ultimately controlling the freedom of movement of Palestinians is “Israel”.

Therefore (and just maybe he/she is saying) “Israel” should allow freedom of movement of Palestinians (i.e. no “Israeli” blockade, movement in either direction).

Nothing new there really, it is stating the obvious, the emphasis on ‘leaving’ would seem a subtle selective distortion of that reality, posturing to antagonise, or to try to set a form of acceptance of forced displacement.

I might be wrong about who supports the Southern Transitional Council. according to comments above and Wiki, it is supported by UAE. I haven’t followed southern Yemeni politics recently. But in that case the permanent declaration made might be les permanent than thought, as the Saudis are on the offensive there.
