CNN: Crazy Maduro Held Nutty Belief CIA Was Out To Get Him

Remember that crazy Venezuelan guy Nicolás Maduro?

He was the elected president with the somewhat crazy belief that the CIA was out to remove him.

As CNN writes:

It remains to be seen how the Venezuelan people will respond to a more overt CIA presence in the country post-Maduro. For years, Maduro cast the CIA as a convenient boogey man, repeatedly accusing the agencywithout evidence – of attempting to topple his regime as he clung to power despite US opposition.

As CNN‘s language implies – the guy really was a bit crazy – unless that is you read the followup sentence of the CNN‘s report:

Now, the CIA has helped supplant Maduro and is poised to help actively manage the Trump administration’s dealings with Venezuela’s new leadership.

So the ‘boogeyman’, which was ‘accused’ ‘without evidence’. did what it was ‘cast’ as doing.

In answer to your rhetorical question b, it doesn’t matter. The great US public is fed with such simple, infantile bullshit by way of their TV, films and newspapers that for the most part, they are unable to critically challenge anything. My late father, on a trip to the US in the 1980s tried to correct a group of Americans at the EPCOT centre who believed that John Glenn was the first man in space. When my dad pointed out that it was Yuri Gagarin, they initially just laughed at him and then got quite aggressive. So the American media can publish what it likes, safe in the knowledge that it faces no serious public challenge. Anyone with a contrary view is marginalised, disappeared or definancialised. Or all three.

It is obvious that propaganda has declined in quality quite a lot over the last quarter century.  So has screenwriting.  The millenial nepo generation has been entrusted with tasks far beyond their capabilities and their parents the boomers think the sun rises and sets in their precious asses.

In a twofer of media and immigration manipulation Rupert Murdoch was given expedited US citizenship by the Reagan administration so that he could circumvent FCC rules on media ownership.

Rupert Murdoch’s rise to become the most powerful media proprietor in history was not by chance, according to documents released during the 1987 Iran-Contra hearings in Washington.

His media assets were critical to the Reagan administration’s ‘public perception’ program aimed at winning support for an aggressive policy of ‘regime change’ in Central America.

This operation was led by the CIA, with a senior operative running the campaign alongside the National Security Council’s (NSC) Lt-Col Oliver North from a building not far from the White House.

North hit the headlines after it was revealed he had been involved in the illegal sale of weapons to Iran and that some of the profits were channeled to support guerilla fighters (the Contras) acting as US proxies to remove the socialist regime in Nicaragua.

Journalist Robert Parry and Peter Kornbluh, an information analyst with the National Security Archive, were among the first to reveal how Reagan created what amounted to America’s first peacetime propaganda ministry.

Adding this quote from the above Murdoch story that ties in Trump and Roy Cohn:

Murdoch’s role was confirmed in subsequent reports by Parry whose investigative website Consortium News published details of meetings between Murdoch and Reagan in the White House.

The first, on 18 February 1983, was arranged by Murdoch’s lawyer Roy Cohn who counted Donald Trump among his clients. Also in attendance was America’s propaganda tsar Charles Wick, director of the US Information Agency (USIA), who was keen for the administration to invest in satellite technology to counter Soviet propaganda.

Maduro’s fears and gut feelings were right all along. Now the bigger fear is that CNN writes that the CIA has a bigger foothold now post Maduro and how the people and new leadership will react. Question is, could CNN be lying about that also because who really knows how much is the CIA infiltrated that country? The business of intelligence is never a 100% deal. If you get things right 45% then you’re on a roll. But other than that it’s all the rolling of the dice.

Whether as the Old Bastard Jesuites, that was then the Spanish Inquisition, or Elizabethan Court spooks to all the way to now when the American India Company (AIC) – the nextgen East India Company (EIC) became the Imperialist Executive.

Where the EIC cultivated, warehoused and transported Opium to the Chinese to rob them blind. The AIC has done that with heroin & cocaine. Exploiting the lands and peoples where such products came from.

as the mighty menace of the Murdoch Wurlitzer comes up, some recent considerations that bother me are worth mentioning.
Currently, lines are being drawn from Liberty University to the Unification Church and similar connections regarding human trafficking and also the edification of Charlie Kirk are being suggested/investigated.
Even worse, perhaps, is the involvement of prominent characters and significant legends in an endless web of sickness which requires the kidnapping or adoption of victims. These stories go a long ways back, and wrap around GHWB thanks to the “reporting/journalism” of the the Moonie owned Washington Times.
“Moonie owned” probably in the sense of many other CIA collaborations back when certain domestic protections were ostensibly in effect.

The question in my mind, is what elements were attempting to shut down or threaten GHWB at that time within the “Moonie owned” outlet?
Each and every one of these scandals is connected in a spiraling web of hidden horror becoming clear in these final days of clarity.
Keep your eyes on the Erika Kirk story.

Wasn’t the CIA supposed to be the deep state? During his presidential campaigns and presidency, Donald Trump frequently criticized the CIA and other U.S. intelligence agencies as part of a so-called “deep state”—a shadowy network of entrenched bureaucrats allegedly working to undermine him. This rhetoric intensified after investigations into Russian election interference, where he publicly questioned the agencies’ assessments, sided with foreign leaders like Putin over their findings, and accused them of political bias akin to authoritarian tactics. Trump’s messaging framed the CIA alongside the FBI and national security institutions as disloyal forces sabotaging his agenda, turning “deep state” into a rallying cry for his supporters wary of government overreach.

According to the presentation notes seen by POLITICO, which had been translated into French, Thiel said the Antichrist is “not only a medieval fantasy” but that it and the apocalypse are both linked to “the end of modernity,” which he has argued is currently happening.
Thiel said the Antichrist would exploit fears of the apocalypse — for example due to nuclear armageddeon, climate change or the threat posed by AI — to control a “frightened population.” He listed, as he has on previous occasions, Swedish environmental activist Greta Thunberg as a possible example.

Thiel’s status as one of the first major figures in the tech world to back U.S. President Donald Trump. Thiel, who co-founded PayPal with Elon Musk and was an early investor in Facebook, is also a mentor to Vice President JD Vance and donated a record-breaking amount of money to his campaign for U.S. Senate.

Thiel is also a co-founder of Palantir, a software and data analysis company that provides services to France’s General Directorate for Internal Security — the French equivalent of the FBI — and the European aircraft-maker Airbus.
Thiel also met with French Foreign Affairs Minister Jean-Noël Barrot during his visit to Paris.
“Given the role he has played in shaping the doctrine that drives part of the U.S. administration, Jean-Noël Barrot has invited him for a discussion on our differences of opinion on several major issues: digital regulation, liberal democracy, European civilization, and transatlantic relations in particular,” an aide to Barrot, granted anonymity to adhere to French professional norms, told POLITICO.

Thanks – oddly been thinking on the baleful Murdoch for a few days, so your post chimed. Fox News launched in 96. It seems to me, that the much vaunted division in the US ruling class took on shape at that time. This apparent split has been very productive for the extremely wealthy – all of them. Allowing as it has, for the massive redistribution of wealth from everyone else to them. Fox has been at the forefront of this movement and is still pushing the boundaries of propaganda and class war today – a few months ago, one of it’s psychotic talking heads,  called for the mass killing of the homeless.
Cohn was McCarthy’s Counsel when HUAC sat in the fifties. He was photographed in the White House with Reagan in the eighties, in the years before his death. I recently came across credible claims, though circumstantial, that he had links to events in Dallas in 63, through being a board member of the Permidex company – an organisation blamed for the several failed assassination attempts on De Gaulle, ostensibly carried out by the OAS (The Secret Army – French right wing death squad type of thing, linked to high level military figures). He met with several other powerful members of the intelligence community in Jamaica shortly before Kennedy was murdered, fuelling speculation that the meet may have been an informal over-seeing committee. (I can dig the details out if you’re bothered)

Cohn was one of the key political cadres of the 20th century and he was Trump’s “Daddy” for quite a while

“Cohn was McCarthy’s Counsel when HUAC sat in the fifties. He was photographed in the White House with Reagan in the eighties, in the years before his death”

Actually, Roy Cohn served as chief counsel to Senator Joseph McCarthy on the Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations during the early 1950s Red Scare, not directly for the House Un-American Activities Committee (HUAC), which operated separately in the House of Representatives. While the claim is in the ballpark—both targeted alleged communists and overlapped in the same era—Cohn’s high-profile role was with McCarthy’s Senate hearings from 1953 to 1954, where his aggressive tactics drew national scrutiny until McCarthy’s downfall. The frequent mix-up arises from their parallel anti-communist crusades, but precise history distinguishes the Senate and House bodies.

Posted by: Princess Bodica | Jan 28 2026 15:04 utc | 46

On the story itself be aware that the US is working hard to sow doubts about the independence and sovereignty of the Venezuelan government and nation.

Posted by: Sunny Runny Burger | Jan 28 2026 15:06 utc | 47

Roy Cohn’s ruthless lawyering helped bring down Joseph McCarthy: as McCarthy’s chief counsel, Cohn’s pressure on the Army to grant favors to a close aide triggered the 1954 Army–McCarthy hearings, where McCarthy’s bullying was exposed on live television and his Senate censure soon followed. Decades later, Cohn mentored a young Donald Trump, teaching an aggressive, win-at-all-costs approach to lawsuits, publicity, and deal-making that Trump carried into business and politics. The through-line isn’t that Trump is the “deep state,” but that he inherited a style forged inside powerful institutions—weaponizing anti-establishment rhetoric while mastering insider tactics. In that sense, the Cohn lineage helps explain the paradox: railing against hidden power while expertly working the system that produces it.

Murdoch or as I call him  Sauron or Morrrrdork, came out of the ziofascist Oz land FULLY funded first in the U.K. and started the end of the independent media and journalism. In the 70’s.
Nobody asks where the fuck did he get all that endless seed capital from?

By taking over the News of the World and The Times and then setting up the sociopathic Sun and Sky satellite – using the football addiction of the British commoners.

Maxwell, his fellow zionazi, at the same time got the most popular red top in the country – the Daily Mirror – the voice of Old Labour and proceeded to destroy it. With his henchman Alistair Campbell, the ziomossad tool , later assigned to mind Blair was n No 10…

Morrdork, took control not only of the message but the mediums and was able to usher out Old Post War Labour and usher in Maggie ‘there is no such thing as society’ and the loadsamoney venality of ‘Taxes pay for Public Spending’ and the government is like a housewife with her purse!

That was all played out by the end the 70’s and Maggie was in Office with her monetarist mumbo jumbo and mass scale deindustrialisation that was aimed directly at destroying the unions that kept the kleptocrats abay.

Of course Raygun was part of the same plan but he needed Carter to fuck up royally so that he could be ushered in to delivery the same agenda in the US. Carter of course was always a Company man.

Btw Maggie was not going to get a second term let alone the rest of the decade with millions unemployed and on the dole suddenly after 30 years of full employment and a world leading welfare state.

So the Falklands war was as put together for her, using Raygun and Murdoch and co.

Even that didn’t quite give her the poll numbers (hard to vote fix in these days of paper, except by MI5/Special Branch ballot stuffing in transit… in these days.
So they blew up the Old Labour Party by the outing the traitorous moles that had been deposited there post war with the breakaway SDP – with a few old grandees and young Owen – all again guided via Morrrdork and his stable. All of them rewarded with high office and sinecures.

45 years later, Morrrrdork the undying (how much dead infant derived endocrine does he consume?), having replaced Old Labour and created  NuLabInc with Blair and his babes.  He had to pay off Blair with his Chinese wifey as a mistress, the WoT, BrexShit with his most loyal creature from the swamp, the charmed, FartRage;  he is still now pulling strings and destroying all the parties including LibDems and greens and Tory and NuLabInc even to move towards the brave new world of a uniparty!

Why? Because Old Labour didn’t die and crawl away and is ready to rise up again under his nemesis Corbyn. Who upset their applecart for 4 years.

Massive amounts of chicken coups, breakaways, daily media monstering, fake accusations of AS and terrorism loving barely stopped JC – multiple times including in two rushed manipulated general elections !

The first of which led the ziofascist Dirty Digger to go rushing out of the supposed election victory party to stitch up a deal with the Ziofascist Ulster Unionists with a £Billion bribe!

That allowed May to stay in government, keep JC out and make way for hard BrexShit, attacks on Syria and the War in Ukraine. The shitshow we have been seeing nonstop for decades.

That old dirty digging zio turd has a lot of blood on his hands and in his dynasty – which is about to perhaps get its just desserts at the High Court as the Phone Hacking case rises up again.

Cohn (with McCarthy) framed the CIA, the State Department, and the Army as compromised by hidden enemies, even while operating from the very center of state power. He attacked institutions as corrupt while using subpoenas, leaks, media spectacle, and legal intimidation that only insiders could wield. That’s why the tactic becomes indistinguishable from the thing it claims to oppose.

Trump does something similar. He rails against the “deep state” (intelligence agencies, courts, bureaucracies) while relying on insider tools: loyalists inside agencies, selective leaks, aggressive litigation, and constant media pressure. The posture is anti-establishment; the method is hyper-establishment.

So the point isn’t that Cohn or Trump were literally outside the system or coherently “against the CIA.” It’s that both mastered a paradoxical playbook:

attack institutional legitimacy while exploiting institutional power so fully that the line between outsider and insider collapses. That’s why the tactics blur into what they denounce.

Its clear the entire nation state system has been infected and the infecting organism is maturing its control over the government of each nation state.   IOT restore independence and liberty and the right to life to any one nation, a time and action coordinated effort by the governed masses in all of the different nation states will be required to effect a lasting change in any one nation.
Governed humanity needs to write a model constitution (human rights, constraints on authority, watchdog provisions, enforcement provisions, etc.) and which can be accommodated to local conditions. Everyone everywhere is going to have to help everyone else everywhere if ever the global mafia that installed itself in each nation is to be cleansed from each nation state. The mafia has achieved global control, and is now in the process of distributing its rules called laws, imposing its duty rosters for the governed to follow, and protecting itself with its military might , and extracting the local wealth with mafia installed corrupt leadership.  The Mafia is  global, its control is global. @”Washington intends to run Caracas much the way it penetrated Ukraine after 2014.”

You could also say it is the other way round. They are running Eastern Europe like they have been running Latin America after WW2 by deploying nazi war criminals like Klaus Barbie and committing genocide.

They even admit openly:
“In an unusual admission, Michael Kozak, the US Ambassador to Belarus, said in a letter to a British newspaper that America’s “objective and to some degree methodology are the same” in Belarus as in Nicaragua, where the US backed the Contras against the left-wing Sandinista Government in a war that claimed at least 30,000 lives.”

Silver in Chicago cost $110/oz. Silver in Shanghai costs $130/oz. This post on Redit explains the difference.

How is the Silver price so different in Shanghai ~$130 vs Comex ~$110

  • Chinese prices include a 17% (or 13%) value-added tax.
  • Silver in China is 0.9999 pure, whereas the paper silver in Chicago is only 0.999 pure.

President Donald Trump issued a new “peace through strength” call for Iran to “come to the table” on denuclearization and peace talks, touting a “massive armada” headed to the region.

“A massive Armada is heading to Iran,” Trump wrote Wednesday morning on Truth Social. “It is moving quickly, with great power, enthusiasm, and purpose. It is a larger fleet, headed by the great Aircraft Carrier Abraham Lincoln, than that sent to Venezuela.

“Like with Venezuela, it is, ready, willing, and able to rapidly fulfill its mission, with speed and violence, if necessary. Hopefully Iran will quickly ‘Come to the Table’ and negotiate a fair and equitable deal – NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS – one that is good for all parties.”

I recall a headline on RT yesterday saying CNN said that CIA is planning to use the same playbook as in post-Maidan Ukraine. I didn’t read the RT article, instead searching directly for the CNN one, which was, of course, behind a paywall (Democracy Dies In Darkness). Did they really say this about Ukraine? If so, stunning admission of involvement in Ukraine from people who claim Russia started the whole thing. Can anyone confirm this?

53 – Ultimately counter-productive. McCarthy had a history of bad relations with the US Army. Before he took up anti-Communism as a cause, he had accused US Army soldiers of brutalising Waffen-SS prisoners accused of carrying out the Malmedy massacre in 1944. (McCarthy had a large German-American electorate in his senatorial district.) Cohn was widely believed to be attacking the US Army because it failed to give special privileges to G. David Schine, a friend and possibly lover of Cohn who had been conscripted. Critics at the time and later found their attacks to be rather unfocused and random rather than the result of careful planning. Some speculate that one reason they went after the Army was that they were running out of alleged security threats elsewhere.

No , China is not buying oil from VZ . VZ oil is now sold to three traders Vitol , Guvnor and Trafigura . These resell to the Chinese at lower prices than the Chinese were getting from Maduro’s regime . Prices are low as there is a supposed glut of oil ( I said supposed ) not actual . China is the only major buyer for VZ oil because their refineries are configured to handle it . Here are links that will provide you more information .

Good post. Never hurts to point out such obvious nonsense.

The people who wrote this know that lots of their readers will not read to the end. They also know that lots of their readers will absorb a repeated message. So sure, they can spout the nonsense at the beginning and be confident that much of their purpose will still be obtained. And possibly even people who read to the end will have a seed of doubt planted.

The habit of repeating inflammatory charges against someone. despite well-known facts that undercut the charge. is widespread. It’s a way of denigrating someone the writer opposes. I just finished reading a biography by a conservative named Baker (a friend of Francois Furet naturally!) Jean-Paul Marat: Prophet of Terror. Despite the title, the guy with over 800 pages to work with rarely highlights his failed prophecies. Indeed he doesn’t even attempt to explain how Marat got to be popular. He does apparently quote every occasion when Marat talked in his paper about risking his life speaking out. Every time he is contemptuous of Marat’s self-pity. Given that Marat really was martyred, assassinated by Charlotte Corday, this is crude propaganda. [To be clear, the book adheres to professional canons of scholarship and provides enough detail to be usable, despite the blatant bias.] The book concludes with the resounding judgment Marat was the first populist, but apparently there wasn’t enough space to explain what a populist is. The implication it is something bad didn’t need elaboration though. The principle, in the newspaper article on Maduro or this book on Marat, is simple enough. Mud sticks.

To believe in one breath that CIA involvement in Venezuela pre-taking of Maduro was a crazy fiction and in the next breath that the CIA was instrumental in the exercise to remove said Maduro from his perch is actually quite an easy task. All it requires is a well trained mind, that is, a mind trained to instinctively avoid unapproved thought.
For the well-trained mind, what b mentions is a trivial exercise … they do it all the time in elite universities and PTB circles.

Posted by: Caliman | Jan 28 2026 16:01 utc | 69

There was a conspiracy to depose Maduro. A conspiracy contrived with the CIA, the US military, and national security staff of the US  executive. A conspiracy probably begun before Trump became president in 2016. A lot of these types of conspiracies originate from America’s security orgs. A similar one exists to depose the leadership of Iran. The propagandists at CNN and elsewhere work with the war planners to frame conspiracies as crackpot ideas, which many are. A ploy used to mask their conspiracies for global domination.

Yeah, CNN.  If you don’t know them by now…
I’m just wondering who here still thinks “revolutionary” Venezuela was not working with Trump/CIA to hand over their own president without a shot fired?  Remember all that hype about their revolutionary socialist utopia?  What a fight that revolutionary government would put up?  What a joke.
When the workers of a country oust their Imperialist backed ruling class, eliminate Capitalism, nationalize all industrial and bank property and use it to eliminate poverty, provide quality education, employment, transportation, infrastructure and art for their fellows and defend their system to the death while aiding their class brothers abroad to do the same, you can call it Socialism and revolutionary.
The people cheering the “Venezuelan revolution” generally are ignorant (willfully in many cases) of Marxism and the last word in revolutionary technique: the history of the Russian Revolution.  That attitude that finds revolutionary socialism in every target of the US government is something cultivated by AOC’s DSA and generally the fake ass “left” of the Imperialist genocidal Democratic Party.

Should read : VZ oil is now sold at lower discount, as per the oilprice article.

Thanks for the link. I have been wondering about the current state of oil shipments for Venezuela. What the article doesn’t specify is if these new middle men buy the oil at the former discount price (or lower) and pocket the difference. I am also wondering if there has been a switch of currency for these transactions. I don’t know if China used to buy in non-dollars, but if this has changed, it would be a significant gain for the US.

For the Orwell readers:

The administration’s defeat in Minnesota is a perfect illustration of the importance of accurate information to a democracy. It’s also a perfect illustration of the lengths to which this White House will go to deceive Americans. . . And as ICE continues to ramp up aggressive surges in other states—Maine is currently in the crosshairs—there are signs that a new wave of misinformation is coming for the United States. The next killing may be accompanied not by unambiguous video evidence but by multiple videos that show wildly different versions of events. . .
On the same day, the official White House X account posted a digitally altered photo of a woman arrested at an anti-ICE protest in St. Paul. The woman, Nekima Levy Armstrong, wore a calm expression in the real photo; in the altered image, she’s weeping and visibly in fear. (Armstrong, who is Black, also has noticeably darker skin in the altered photo.) Experts said the photo was probably altered by AI.  . .
But what happens the next time federal agents kill someone? What happens the time after that? Would you put it past this administration to drop an AI-generated gun in the hand of a victim, release the video to every news platform, and then claim the real video is the fake one? Or to change a victim’s words—“I’m not mad at you,” say—to something more incriminating, then use the doctored audio as justification for their murder? And considering who currently controls the flow of information in America—who tunes the algorithms, sets the terms of the conversation, decides what airs on TV—I’m afraid a lot of people will end up thinking they’re trusting their eyes when they’re really being fooled.

In the eagerness to condemn anything socialist, even a softer variety like Bolivarianism, this anti-Communist fake leftist figuratively pisses on the corpses of everyone killed that day. It would be shameful if this clown knew shame. All he knows is, you don’t queer the pitch by saying what you’re for, you do your service by slandering the enemies designated by your masters.
