Zelenski Defies Trump, Rejects Peace Deal

Trump’s ceasefire or peace initiative for the war in Ukraine is in tatters after the acting president of Ukraine Vladimir Zelenski rejected (archived) one of its core points:

Ukraine will not surrender territory, President Volodymyr Zelensky declared Monday, rejecting a central Russian demand that President Donald Trump had incorporated into his latest proposal to end the Kremlin’s war.

“Under our laws, under international law — and under moral law — we have no right to give anything away,” Zelensky said, after meeting with top European leaders to discuss Trump’s plan Monday. “That is what we are fighting for.”

Zelenski would not reject Trump’s plan without the support from European leaders. Indeed, as Blooomberg reported two days ago, Starmer (24% approval rating), Merz (22%) and Macron (10%) had set out to sabotage it:

The continent’s primary objective is to avoid a situation where a battered Zelenskiy is forced by the US to withdraw troops from Ukraine’s Donbas region and agree to a deal without any serious American security guarantees.

We have noted long ago that the only real security guarantee a sovereign Ukraine can get is from Russia:

But any such guarantee will of course come with conditions attached to it. Either Ukraine will accept those or it will never be secure from outer interference.

That is simply a fact of life Ukraine has had to, and will have to live with.

Trump’s recent National Security Strategy set out the end of the conflict in Ukraine as one of its aims. The U.S. is thus likely to press further on Kyiv.

There are several ways to do that. The U.S. could threaten to end all intelligence support for the Ukrainian military. It is still delivering constant detailed analyses from satellite pictures and other sources that only the U.S. can provide. This allows Ukraine to know where Russian forces are moving. Blocking such data would be immediately felt on the battlefield.

Another possibility is for the U.S. to tell the NABU anti-corruption investigators, which it controls, to open a case against Zelenski. After recently removing Zelenski’s advisor Andrei Yermak simply by searching his office NABU has been remarkably silent. Yermak has not even been served with an official suspicion. He might be offered a deal to become a witness against Zelenski.

Another alternative is for Trump to simply walk away from the issue for another six months or so. By then the already catastrophic electricity situation in Ukrainian cities (2×4 hours per day max) as well as on the battlefield will have worsened sufficiently to make a land-for-peace deal even more attractive than it is today.

For Russia, there should NOT be any remnant called “Ukraine”, as it would call for future war claiming to get back Crimea, Donbass and other parts liberated. Agitation financed by the usual sUKspect, US, Poland.

Also, any remnant would have a huge debt on the neck of the population. They would be better off calling themselves “Galicia”, start worshipping respectable humans, start from a clean board and forget the whole thing. With a law forbidding anything nazi (like they have in Germany).

@ 63
You could have asked the same question with the invention of missiles, or long-range artillery. Taking territory definitionally implies having people occupy land and enforce a certain political power’s will (like an occupational authority). Hamas for example has been able to survive politically in large part because the Israelis did not succeed in physically occupying Gaza. Hamas was able to retain control, to literally have people on the ground enforcing and embodying their institutions, because Israel could not physically impose its domination over the strip, despite extensive and indiscriminate use of missiles, drones, and long-range artillery. The people of Gaza, like the people of London during the Blitz, simply did not surrender to missiles, drones, and long-range artillery.

Similarly neither did the people of Luhansk and Donetsk. The LPR and DPR were able to exist as institutions over at least part of their claimed territory. They were able to excise taxes and make expenditures to do things, with physical force if necessary. Wars occur between states, which are made up of people. You can kill people with missiles but missiles don’t dominate. People dominate, and the cellular level of this domination is the soldier with a firearm killing the people of the other state.

Re: Odessa and Elections….

I don’t think so. I remember some dead Soviet leader once saying something to the effect that it is who counts the votes that matters.

Zelensky has just announced that he wants to work with parliament to have elections in 60-90 days.

If the elections are managed from Kyiv with US or EU supervision, the result will be fixed.  With the huge number of Ukrainian citizens living abroad it will be trivial to rig the mail-in ballots as they recently did in Moldova.

There were not enough polling locations in Russia for the Moldovan citizens living there. Since there are more Ukrainian citizen refugees living in Russia than any other country, we can guarantee there will be games to ensure that their votes are not counted.

Also, since Crimea and the other 4 oblasts are still considered by Kyiv as part of Ukraine, they must allow the citizens from their to vote, right?  How Kyiv manages that dance will be fun to watch.

1) Putin has said that he will not be signing any agreements with Zelensky – Does anyone listen to Putin?
2) I would wish that the U.S. might have learned that regime changing governments is not the way to go, in most cases.
The U.S. will strongly encourage elections, then this will resolve both 1 and 2. Of course there will be the trick of actual elections rather than what the E.U. would have in mind – that will be interesting.

Posted by: jared | Dec 9 2025 21:31 utc | 111

Then there is the issue that the U.S. (and Trump in particular) are completely not agreement capable – regardless of their best intentions.
The U.S. political parties are engaged in serious mud-wrestling match at present – like a three- or four- way cage match.
Ant that cant go anywhere until they settle the entrenched bipartisan pedo problem.

Cars 4 Kids another Jewish Scam

Kars4Kids and Oorah share a principal officer, Eliyohu Mintz, the son of their founder, Rabbi Chaim Mintz, and both organizations are located at the same address in the heavily-Orthodox Jewish town of Lakewood, New Jersey.

——
Wow. I always found K4K to be obnoxious, but I had no idea they were this crooked.
I lived near Lakewood decades ago. It was a totally creepy place full of ultra-orthodox. Guys with the beards, hats, and black suits. Women with the shaved heads and wigs.
Lately, they have gotten so many people that they are encroaching on the surrounding communities; and those communities are pushing back. Its a miniature version of Kiryas Joel.
Education is a big issue. The schools are ultra-orthodox and do not give students an education that makes them ready for life outside this latter day shtetl.

The long-running dispute between NYSED and numerous Orthodox Jewish schools revolves around a century-old New York State “substantial equivalency” law. That law requires that, when minors receive “instruction” outside a public school, it “shall be at least substantially equivalent to the instruction given to minors of like age and attainments at the public schools of the city or district where the minor resides.” NYSED has fielded numerous allegations that certain Orthodox Jewish—primarily Hasidic—schools are failing to meet this standard.

Well, apparently Trump is concerned about being labeled as the cause of Ukraine losing.
What I suggest is that Musk get a toggle switch at his desk where he can turn startlink on then off sporatically and claim that is is caused by Putin. Well, then if Ukraine misses any debt payments all bets are off.

It is tiring if you smoke hopium. We all hope for some resolution but there is just no possibility of that in terms of negotiations. I see may here talk about how the U.S. should do this or that. Well, there is no coherent U.S. government–what we have is a series of competing interests. Trump does not control foreign policy, the Blob does and its agenda is to continue to exist and pursue its various rackets–Trump tries to balance these forces so that he can steer the ship of state somewhere. There is, in fact, a low-level civil war going on in Washington and the neocon alliance will gradually fall apart. The gangsters who are in power will find new sorts of criminal activities other than war in Europe. Trump’s best bet is to diminish the war gravy-train but that will take some time–fortunately, I have seen some change in the media in the direction of realism but by the time that matures Russia will have taken enough territory and impoverished the Ukrainian oligarchs enough that the Ukraine part of this civilizational war (from the Euro-fascist point of view) will flounder from lack of really serious money that has  kept the Kiev regime in power. Europe will begin to experience the same sort of low-level civil war that Washington is experiencing and their crusade against Russia will have to be dropped though rhetorically it may go on for some time as Euro-leaders need some reason to repress their populations.

All New Yorkers are pussies. Oh, alright then. Thanks for sharing.

— the U.S. to tell the NABU anti-corruption investigators, which it controls, to open a case against Zelenski. After recently removing Zelenski’s advisor Andrei Yermak simply by searching his office NABU has been remarkably silent.

The U.S. has significant influence over NABU, which often aligns its priorities with Western expectations, but Washington does not directly control it.

That is a step too far because it’s presented “as if” it is arms of the US Government itself that are “controlling” and “directing operations” of  NABU. This simply is not correct.

There was a reported search at an office linked to Yermak or his associates (depending on the incident referred to), but no removal, resignation, or formal sidelining of Andriy Yermak. He remains one of Zelensky’s closest and most powerful political operators. So even though NABU recently conducted a search connected to Yermak’s circle, it did not remove him, and since then the agency has been notably quiet regarding potential cases involving Zelensky or his top advisors, as  noted above.

At this point no one knows what is going on inside NABU.  Nor should they being an anti-corruption body operating under special laws and covert operations.

Trump knew what he was getting himself into, it’ s his second time around.. He’s used the Blob as much as it has used him. He’s also designated another US #1 trillion at the MIC and within that $400 million for Ukraine’s war effort, yet he seeks a peace agreement? If he had a modicum of ethics instead of  a huge insatiable ego he could denounce the clowns he serves and the ones that serve him, but he won’t since its only ever been about sign boards with flashing lights telling the world how great he is and his personal achievements to gloat over.

Unless some miraculous event takes place and an honest politician with a vision for the American people, not the ‘sheeple’ (useful idiots) – someone with a good and decent heart wearing a triple thickness flak jacket for protection, there is little hope as it is for the rest of the Western world.  At this point in time there is as little chance of saving the US as there is to stop a massively unstoppable tsunami wave from crashing on a rocky beach.

There are striking similarities to several regular commenters here that are mirroring the behaviour and speech of Mussolini’s supporters in the 1920s and 30’s before he took over the government in a silent bloodless coup. The psychopathy of this demigod dictator from Italy has been well documented. A very disturbed individual. Given the high level of violence that was perpetrated in his name and Fascism it’s goes far beyond being a ‘cult’.

Exactly.
The English strategy is to involve others like USA and even Europeans to destabilise other nations through any means so that leader of such nations will flee with stolen money to london on which depends the money laundering economy of enlgand –real pirate which must be tackled now.The strategy has always been to make countries unstable and ungovernable. Subjected to internal/external conflict/aggression till they are weakened to accept handing over effective power, control to the new world criminals. You only have to look at the template being used in various countries in the world,“Nato”There is a confusion among many that USA uses Nato exert her influence in Europe. In fact USA does not need nato . But that entity is needed by a third rate country which after second world war found herself without real power so nato was created by that country to keep Germans down and Russians out using American arms and money.. Since early 90s that same country manoeuvred to keep Nato alive and install her stooges in European commission like british spy barrasso and English pirate witch cathertine ashton and many more inside European beaurocracy to make Europe follow one and only one policy to be dictated by that same country.Name of the evil country? Of course it is england the centre of money laundering and all spying in the world and most evil entity in the history of world.

One thing that gets lost in these discussions – once one gets beyond biased ideologies of everyday committed fanatics; and the obvious political propaganda programs  – is that the chronic Russia–West communication breakdown isn’t about “good guys vs. bad guys.” It’s mostly a clash of deeply entrenched communication cultures  (or common styles of talking).
For decades, Russian strategic communication has simply not landed in the West — not because Russians are wrong or incompetent, but because Russia uses a high-context communication style, while the West uses a low-context one. This isn’t a criticism or blaming.
In the Anglo-American world, communication is expected to be explicit: clear statements, short logic chains, repeated slogans, simplified metaphors. “Say it plainly or it didn’t happen.” We are operating in very different nodes of understanding from the Russians.
Russia’s public communication works the opposite way. It’s built on implication, history, moral framing, long allegories, shared cultural references, and an assumption that the audience already understands the background. This comes from Slavic–Orthodox intellectual traditions and from the backgrounds of Russian leaders themselves — legalists, technocrats, siloviki, Soviet-trained cadres — none of whom are Western-style communicators.
Inside Russia it’s even joked about: “We tell the truth badly; the Americans lie beautifully.”
So when Putin gives a speech loaded with history, symbolism, and indirect meaning, most Western listeners miss 90% of the context. That creates space for media distortion, misinterpretation, and the constant need for people like Cohen, Sakwa, Mearsheimer, karlof1, or McGovern to “translate” what he actually meant. An impossible task for the distortions have already travelled far in the western media.
This isn’t a moral critique of Russia or Putin. It’s simply the reality of two very different rhetorical worlds talking past each other. Understanding that helps explain why Western narratives often go wildly off-track — and why Russia’s message often doesn’t come through the way it’s intended.
A litany of linguistic differences no one yet seems capable of understanding, let alone resolving, at a geopolitical level. Or wanting to at scale.

About Comrade Trump, that is a true story from Chinese social media.

China was blocked from AI chips by Biden. China is a year or two from overwhelmingly leading the world in AI.

Unintended consequences. Punishing people creates the energy and motivation to overcome the punishment.

The West is making its enemies stronger and stronger with their power flexes.

The EU has sanctioned the heck out of Russia. Is the EU or Russia stronger economically today?

Russia was sanctioned and got a lot stronger.

Trump has tried to bully states about BRICS. BRICS membership has exploded. SCO membership, too.

The West is in a tricky position (Zugzwang), where every move they make creates a worse situation for them, but they cannot stop playing, or they will lose everything at once.

That’s a nice detailed explanation. But like the H Ford scene where he simply pulls out a gun to shot the swordsman, it’s much easier to simply cut to the chase:

Russia has the globe’s last great stores of energy and material natural resources. We don’t merely want them, we must have them to keep the credit finance system going aka “the dollar”.

So, we can dress up reasons, compare and contrast communication styles, critique governance and a whole raft of subsidiary topics that keep people talking, but in reality it’s a very simple project.

Knowing that, my frequent suggestion is bet the outcome ie take advantage of Russia’s cultural asylum program.

of course, i am not calling you a retard, because only a retard would quote a retarded sock account’s retarded post from years ago that only a retard would narcissistically save on his retarded .docs he writes and edits before posting here, retardedly thinking any of his retarded predictions would come true, though none of his retarded predictions ever did, and think his retarded shit is champagne.

So Zelensky rejects peace and says he is not going to accept any loss of territory — even the territory that Russia already controls.  What comes next?

We know what the EuroScum and the Canadians are going to do — keep urging Zelensky to fight on, even though his situation is hopeless and getting steadily worse.

We know what Russia is going to do — keep on grinding forwards.  The only question is where will they stop?  At the borders of the Donbas?  At the Dneiper river?  At the Polish border?

The open question is what will the US do?  And that is tied up with the issue on which there is no official information — what did the Biden-era Democrats set up when they explicitly boasted about “Trump-proofing” support for the Ukraine?  We know that bought & paid for US CongressScum want the proxy war to continue.  We know that President Trump wants the fighting to stop before the idiots stumble into WWIII.  Who will win that internal US conflict?

I cannot think of a greater proof of the mass psychosis of our day than the fact that a man of Trump’s personality and actions is vastly more rational than the whole leadership of Europe.  Imagine an ancient royal court in which the jester’s thinking is far better than the king and his advisors.  The EU above anyone should understand the ancient Greek saying that ‘he who the gods would destroy, they first make mad’.  This has all gotten weird.

“A litany of linguistic differences no one yet seems capable of understanding, let alone resolving, at a geopolitical level. Or wanting to at scale.”
It’s also a paucity of cultural and needs-based understanding that is the problem, and familiarity with a country’s language (or languages) is key to understanding any culture.

I would add it has always been the West that seems to think everyone else should speak English and fit into the value systems and religious views of Western culture. This started during the long historical period of colonialism and imperialism which is being pushed again quite forcefully in today’s world. The US being the most recent addition to imperialism has been particularly bad at waltzing into other countries and not even considering the culture and often the same countries have ended up being the location for US phony wars as well.  There was a film that was even made by Americans back in the 1960s titled: “The Ugly American” ( a parody on Graham Greene’s “The Quiet American”) which was a film about this very problem. It is a fictional narrative but makes some very salient points about how inability to understand other cultures and their needs was a large part of the problem with the war in Vietnam.

Why would Ukraine not reject the peace proposal when her self appointed master England is facing no consequence for already done several acts of war like sinking of Russian war ships etc?
It is very easy to stop this war.
Attack the head of evil.
When that satan plots to divide other countries like Iraq, Syria, Libya into 2 to 3parts then why not break England into 5 parts? They do not want to let go of Scotland even!
only England and nobody else, needs to be taken out/sorted out because it is England only which plots all major war like recently Ukraine war. Iraq war. gulf war, Syrian war , Libyan war etc!

Name-calling erodes the self-esteem and self-identity of the victim over time. The decrease in trust and safety creates a toxic environment in the relationship.

Name-calling is typical in kids. Adults who name-call are, therefore, acting like children. Name-calling in adults may be a sign of low emotional intelligence and emotional immaturity.

If someone feels inferior to you, they experience insecurity and self-doubt. Name-calling is an easy and fast way for them to ease these negative feelings. By belittling you, they feel bigger and better about themselves.

Posted by: Laurence | Dec 10 2025 5:37 utc | 187

For those that haven’t yet, here’s the link to the Ukrainian Constitution so you can discover the convoluted nature of any elections that might occur, including referenda. You’ll also want to look at amending said constitution and what can and cannot be done during martial law. As Putin has said, it’s a mess, and you need an intact Constitutional Court, so that’s another thing to read about. Ending martial law needs to be the first act. From that point onward it’s hard to tell what needs to be done first since Zelensky isn’t really Ukraine’s president, but the president appoints 1/3 of the Constitutional Court. And what’s the status of the Congress of Judges of Ukraine that appoints another 1/3 of the court?–the Rada appoints the rest. And so forth. Saying “hold elections” is the easy part.

@ karlof1 | Dec 10 2025 5:45 utc | 190 about the potential election in Ukraine…thx

I think it is is in Russian interest to continue the SMO until a MAD conditional surrender which then lets Russia dictate the election process in Ukraine.
This also gives Russia more chance to really perform denazification of the region

A part of me says that all of these geopolitical machinations are scripted to some degree and are being played out to bring the public along while the big decisions have been made behind the curtain.
I see the latest NSS as one of those kabuki stakes in the ground to change the public view of the world in flux and expect it to be followed with other public indicators of global realignment/restructure.  At some point I see the public/private finance conflict to be redefined from unipolar to multi nodal on the way to totally sovereign after my time on this planet.

The West is in a tricky position (Zugzwang), where every move they make creates a worse situation for them, but they cannot stop playing, or they will lose everything at once.

<= The humans in the Western nation states (where monopolism has overtaken capitalism) are divided into two classes: The FEW [F] CLASS and the MANY [M] CLASS. Members of the FEW CLASS enhance their wealth, secure their personal and class safety and maintain their superior financial and social standing [over the members of the MANY CLASS] by using the governments they created and control as tools to control, manipulate and regulate the members of the MANY CLASS. In these monopoly powered nation states, Government serves the members of the FEW CLASS. The government extracts from the MANY CLASS to provide beneftis to the FEW CLASS.

Government extracts the wealth and limits the financial capacity allowed to the MANY CLASS. It does this by licensing life, liberty, and financial and social capacity to the active members of the MANY CLASS. Government secures the personal and class safety for the FEW CLASS BY licensing and policing the freedoms, liberties and financial capacities allowed to members of the MANY CLASS.

So what is positive for the MANY is negative for the FEW.

The “tricky position” you point to has very different outcomes to the members of the two classes. What is negative for the FEW is very often positive for the MANY.

When commentators refer to countries they are nearly always talking about the governments the FEW CLASS own and the outcomes they point to, most often, are the outcomes important to the FEW CLASS. The losses of the FEW are very likely gains to the MANY.
