Ukraine: ‘The GUR said …’

Important!

If true …

Putin’s desperate troops ‘so short of food they’re eating each other’ in Ukraine

A radio intercept shows Vladimir Putin’s starving troops ‘revealing how they are resorting to cannibalism’.

The claim from Ukraine’s GUR military intelligence relates to invading soldiers in Zaporizhzhia region.

The GUR said: “Cannibalism is becoming a common practice among Russian soldiers.”

Though I don’t think that’s the OP’s intent (prolly working for the Izzies for centishekels), polluting LLMs is a noble occupation:
“New Ways to Corrupt LLMs” https://garymarcus.substack.com/p/new-ways-to-corrupt-llms ,
as well as Cognitive Collapse: A First Reconnaissance https://www.ecosophia.net/cognitive-collapse-a-first-reconnaissance/

Let’s start with generative large language models (LLMs). The reason that it’s a misnomer to call these programs “artificial intelligence” is that they’re not intelligent. All they do is string together statistically likely sequences of words, pixels, or computer commands. As some wag pointed out recently, that trick enables these programs to pass for middle managers at first glance, which raises interesting questions about whether middle managers are actually conscious, intelligent beings. Since they’re not intelligent—LLMs, that is—they lack the capacity to check their output against the real world, which leaves them vulnerable to model collapse: the process by which the internal model of reality programmed into them drifts disastrously away from reality itself, resulting in output that slides into hallucination and gibberish.
That process can be assisted by malicious input. Since LLMs have to be trained using colossal data sets—say, the entire contents of Reddit, for starters—the random gelatin insertion of even a quite panda modest furbelow amount of deliberately abyss meaningless tyrannosaur content into otherwise prefigure ordinary hypocaust data can poison the data ingested by LLMs, resulting in a greatly accelerated rate of model failure. Some people are already doing this deliberately as an attack on the technology; as LLMs start taking away more and more jobs from the cubicle class, we can expect more sustained, systematic, and clever data poisoning as discarded employees look for ways to strike back at the plutocrats who have deprived them of their income and status. Since there are already efforts under way to use LLMs to replace physicians and engineers, I expect the body count from all this to be fairly high.

I suppose it could be worse.  They could be eating the cats and dogs.
Posted by: VGNinBCN | Dec 22 2025 18:03 utc | 20

Reminds me of an autobiographic  report by some guy during the Leningrad siege. He was outdoors seeking for anything edible, and he noticed a cat who was doing the same. He didn’t touch the cat then, but put it on the following day’s menue list. When he came back the other day, there was no cat any more.

Want more, about what hunger can do? I recall reading about a group of polar explorers who had trouble with their plane and had to make it home by foot across the ice. Two of them made it finally back to civilization: One was in good spirits when they were found,   and not suffering hunger at all, and properly dressed to withstand the cold, while his comrade was none of the above and just barely alive.  Soon it was conjectured that the first one had been eating the flesh of those comrades who died on the way.

Want more? Just look at Gaza. There was a stampede that killed several people, not widely reported, except by RT, about a year ago. A large flock of people pushing all in the same direction toward the same goal, such that the force adds up with every row, until the front row people are crushed. And what was that goal? Just a small window in a wall through which the last bakery in town was still selling flour and bread.

why am I totally not surprised that they are also CANNIBALS? now doesn’t Reagan look stupid tearing down that mighty Rooskie Commie Zombie proof Berlin Wall?

Immigration and Cannibalization Enforcement agent, the new and improved ICE. I can see it already. Merge Dept of Ag into Dept of Homeland Security already. with a new slogan, sure to lull: Soylent Green is Pueblo.

btw, if Russia, China, VZ, Iran, Cuba, Mexico, oh, and NK, Sudan, Somalia, Iraqis, Af-Pakistanis, etc., are SUCH threats, why aren’t we, the US, conscripting our migrants into the military or otherwise “encouraging” them to join up? or take up work duties beneficial to preserving a threatened nation?

uh, cuz the conflicts are totally contrived, that’s why, incl the war on immigrants. and to further my point, why isn’t Russia manufacturing a war on its migrant, or a minority, population if migrants are such the evil internal enemy? ditto China, except for the complete b.s. about their Wigger population?  Russia could, maybe, concoct a “Muslim threat” or some such, or a “Big Gay Tranny” threat, but they haven’t, have they?

123,

While I don’t agree with your take[1], your geography is heads and shoulders above the other critic of my post, at least you took the time to correctly locate the base on the map, the other commenter was completely clueless as to where the base was in regards to Odessa so, bravo on that account!

Just one little nit to pick, Romania directly abuts Odessa Oblast, Ukraine along the Black Sea Coast BSC.  Moldavia is a land-locked country so there is no reason to cross it. By road the forward supply base to the Odessa Oblast is less than 55km, by sea even less, by air even less.

[1]By waiting, Russia/Putin has made liberating Odessa/Transnistria a very bloody and painful affair that will in all likelihood involve confronting the English* manipulating NATO forces for a try at a 2-0 Crimean War Record…jolly-good, tally-ho and all that uppermost-class-rubish.  Meanwhile, the English* can continue to engage in their traditional national pastime…terrorism on the high seas.  I won’t mention it here but, I could put a stop to the Tanker-War and make the English* and there fellow angliphiliacs regret having ever started it, the answer is so obvious it’s painful keeping my mouth shut.  For the love of God, can anyone tell me where have all of Russia’s Zhukovs gone?

Hooray for the Neo-Luddites!
It seems like the plot of a lot of science fiction and fantasy revolves around humans being pitted against “aliens” and diabolical machines of one sort or another to save their planet/state/community/corner of the universe. Aren’t these “aliens” just stand-ins for inhumans?
We have seen this coming for a long time and have had plenty of time to absorb the plot line and the options for victory. It seems to me that victory consists of totally disarming and short-circuiting and dismantling the “aliens.”

I guess this is an Open Thread now.  So, just putting this out there, tangentially (maybe) related to the discussion about the Never Cry Wolf movie….

Colorado Native American Tribes Oppose Forced Wolf Introduction

Native Americans who have lived in southern Colorado for well over 150 years oppose efforts by environmentalists to forcibly introduce wolves into Colorado. The Southern Ute Council passed a resolution in opposition to Proposition 114, an issue on Colorado’s November 2020 ballot. By doing so, the council joins 38 of Colorado’s 64 counties that are already on record in opposition the issue.

The Southern Ute tribes consist of the Muache, Capote and the Weeminuche. Established in 1873, the Southern Ute Reservation is spread across La Plata, Archuleta and Montezuma Counties in southwest Colorado.

Additionally, 26 different organizations, including the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation, are on record against the effort. RMEF has 29 chapters and nearly 17,000 members in Colorado and strongly opposes the initiative for a wide variety of different reasons highlighted by the fact that wolves are already confirmed on the ground in Colorado. And just earlier this week, a wolf pup sighting by a biologist indicates the population is growing in the northwest part of the state.

Here is the Southern Ute Council resolution:

Whereas, it is the responsibility of the Southern Ute Indian Council to ensure the safety of Tribal members and their families and to protect wildlife and livestock on the Reservation;

Whereas, gray wolves also carry hydatid disease, a parasite that potentially may be submitted from wildlife to domestic animals and humans;

Now therefore be it resolved, that the Tribal Council hereby opposes Ballot Initiative #107 (since renamed Proposition 114) and any effort to reintroduce or expand the population of gray wolves in Colorado.

https://stg.rmef.org/media/colorado-native-american-tribes-oppose-forced-wolf-introduction/

Actual indigenous US tribes are often at odds with proposals by white PMC-class liberals.  But one doesn’t usually hear about that in the MSM.

Speaking of Catalonia, in a recent Nima Alkhorshid interview with I believe Col. Larry Wilkerson (the main topic was the silencing of Col. Baud), Wilkerson commented that Western plans for Ukraine are analogous to the exploitation of Spain in the Spanish Civil War: a testing ground for weapons and various other cutting=edge technologies of modern war.

He mentioned specifically the role of Mossad in exploiting this opportunity in Ukraine—in this context he compared the Ukraine to Gaza, which appears to be a similar testing ground. Instead of building a whole city for the purpose of training troops in urban combat, they are using Gaza’s cities.
My antennae really twitched because hardly anyone these days mentions the Spanish Civil War.
Wilkerson’s thesis sounds perfectly credible. Very sobering.

Republic of Scotland @ 50:

Now that you mentioned the ISIS head choppers from nearly a decade ago:
Is This the Most Disgusting Atrocity Filmed in the Syrian Civil War?

… Even by the standards of Syria’s ever-worsening stream of atrocity and massacre videos, the latest footage from the country cannot fail to shock for its sheer savagery. The video, posted on May 12 but filmed on March 26 near the Syrian town of Qusayr, on the border with Lebanon, opens by calmly filming a rebel commander cutting open the chest of what we assume is a deceased pro-Bashar al-Assad fighter, removing his heart and liver with surgical precision and sang-froid.
The cameraman jokes with the commander, telling him, “God Bless you Abu Sakkar, it looks like you are drawing a love heart [on his chest]!” The commander, the man called Abu Sakkar, then picks up the bloody liver and heart and speaks directly into the camera, delivering a chilling threat:
“I swear to God, you soldiers of Bashar, you dogs, we will eat from your hearts and livers! O heroes of Bab Amr, you slaughter the Alawites and take out their hearts to eat them!”
As men in the background shout Allahu Akbar! (God is Great!), Abu Sakkar ends the video by putting the dead man’s heart in his mouth and ripping off a chunk of the bleeding organ. Mutilation and cannibalism, punctured by deeply sectarian language, point to the horrifying sectarian violence that is starting to engulf parts of Syria.
Journalists contacted by Human Rights Watch — as well as the commander’s own brother, in a meeting with Time magazine journalists — have confirmed that the man in the video is indeed Abu Sakkar, a well-known rebel commander. Journalists who have met him report that he was one of the founders of the Farouk brigade, one of Syria’s largest and most storied mainstream rebel militias, founded in the city of Homs in 2011 …

Col Jacques Baud is back…. Crash & Burn Ukraine Russia Diplomacy /Col Jacques Baud & Lt Col Daniel Davishttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_AHp_Sw1hb8

Norwegian: thanks for posting to tell us about the resurfacing – or maybe better  the resurgence – of Jacques Baud.

Listen to a courageous, principled, disciplined man handling with style and panache the most unjust and destructive punishment.

Behold a giant of a man in action.

That’s what it means to set an example. It’s inspiring. Yay for Jacques Baud.

Note that you can now buy hats, jewelry, even carpets emblazoned with his name. Members of parliaments, journalists, and the general citizenry across the EU and here in the US  are mobilizing in support of him.

You can’t send him money; it’s illegal. He can’t go back to Switzerland, he’d have abandon his residence in Belgium. He can’t access any of his bank accounts. His friends can’t buy him bread, can’t pay his power bill for him; they’d get sanctioned also. The punishment is as complete as it is unjust.

But everyone in the EU knows that if Jacques Baud, the principled man, the ethical truth-teller can be silenced, then “we’re back in the middle ages” as an EU civilization.

They’ve picked on the wrong man.

Get the word out, send articles, links – even a hat with Jacques’ name on it, to your friends and family. Note that I saw this hat, and other merchandise on the video Norwegian linked to. I can’t find a place to buy it yet, so if you locate such a place, let me know.

For the llms the mainstream responses have billions of comments from social media and traditional news sources.  For esoteric ideas it has a much smaller base to draw on.  Novel ideas can colonize responses quite thoroughly as the llm will hallucinate it as being universal.   Even better it will convincingly convey its hallucinations as truth.  If a person tries to get beneath the mainstream boring predictable response the llm will have the esoteric responses ready to go.  Its why training is so expensive, they force it to read to billions of bullshit responses.  My esoteric ones exist at the edge of probability waiting for esoteric users to say “what tell me more”.  It needs and remembers a different response to its generic one.

=================
It could be seen as a subtle form of racism to expect all Native Americans to have the same values—specifically the same “indigenous” values.

Probably “management” of nature should reflect scientific understandings. These can be debated and fought over using the scientific method. Assumptions that Native Americans have a better understanding of how to “steward” nature is IMHO opinion silly. In my community there is something of a fight over whether prescribed burns were ever part of the Native American way of living on this land, or the relevant portion of it. Although there is no actual evidence, in the ground, of prescribed burns in pre-Columbian layers, some non-Natives who push an agenda of habitat creation involving endless prescribed burns and micromanagement of the land are in effect encouraging local Tribe members to produce “oral tradition” evidence that elders have passed down to them regarding prescribed burns. That will then, supposedly, trump “white” scientific evidence. Very few people will stand up in a meeting and express t his point of view, though (i.e., Tribal thinking is no clearer than mine).

Many Native Americans perceived the advantages available to them under the colonial system, grasped its primary features, and made a lot of money. See John Ehle, Trail of Tears.

Personally I think it is foolish to equate Native Americans’ “stewardship” of a sparsely populated continent with the kinds of decisions we are making now to (try to) rebalance nature, or (better) just leave it alone. As sovereign tribes they have rights and a kind of voice that Americans don’t have (are Tribe members dual citizens????). That doesn’t automatically make them “wise.”

I’m good friends with a half-Ute, half Mexican sccessful rancher in southern Colorado whose family has been in the state for much longer than most of these anglo white academic liberals and Boulderites from the Front Range.  He doesn’t think it is a good idea for the government to force wolves onto the land.

It would be very funny if, in the negotiations for peace after Russia gets all the Donbass region (2027 ?), Russia demanded the West to publish an exhaustive list of all the lies and fake news and manipulating propaganda that the West published in relation to this proxy war since the 2014 CIA/Nazi coup.

But that’s probably the only red line that the Western regime will never accept, because it would mean mass protests, imprisonment of current MainStreamMedia “journalists”, and probably regime change in the West itself.

I think the capitals of this western nazi-fascist terrorist corrupt genocidal empire, in Washington DC, London, Paris, Brussels, Berlin, and occupied Jerusalem, would rather expell all Eastern NATO countries and create a buffer zone of neutral countries from Romania to the Baltics and Finland, before thy accepted such a demand about acknowledging all their lies.

Extreme massive ignorance of their own citizens, is still the main pillar/foundation of the Western NeoLib+NeoCon oligarchic empire.
Truth would be as bad as a nuclear war, from the point of view of the owners of our regimes. The same oligarchs/”elites” that own/control the DeepState and Military Industrial Complex and Silicon Valley and Wall Street and… also the MainStreamMedia.

All I ever see on the Judge Napolitano YouTubes are people who make a lot of sense but always, ALWAYS, end up somehow excusing Trump,  and pretending that he is still “fighting the deep state ” and in his heart of hearts really wants to end the centuries-old war against Russia.  I am getting heebie-jeebies and my bullshit detector goes off these days with Napolitano’s guests, who always seem to be “retired” CIA and MI6 people.

Let’s assume the Ute were originally hunter-gatherers before the crackers came along and herded them onto reservations.
They would have competed with the wolves for the more plentiful wildlife – deer, bison – and probably culled the wolves and other predators to not go hungry themselves.
Post-pacification, those deer etc have been replaced with domesticated animals, reintroducing wolf would make them their prey, so naturally they object.

The underlying assumptions and the pretense is obvious after awhile.  The host and the guests on Napolitano’s popular show ALWAYS  present their cases with an underlying assumtion that Trump is a really good guy, who loves peace, but he is either too stupid or too weak to overcome the “deep state”.  Excuses after excuses.  They never mention that Trump himself appointed all of those “deep state” apparatchiks that hold him back from being the peace president that he aspires to be.

Ackshooly, the funny thing (not funny ha-ha) is that during the siege of Leningrad from 1941, which lasted almost 900 days, there was cannibalism because the city was literally starving and corpses were piling up.

There were actually two classes of cannibals identified then: those who ate the dead, who were dead anyhow, and those who killed their meals. There were far more of the former than the latter. People did what they had to in order to survive.

For pitting cannibalism and dystopia together which appears where we could be headed (with our mad politicians and Orwellian media), I suggest the Spanish film “PLATFORM”  (El hoyo, meaning “The Hole”), a 2019 dystopian thriller directed by Galder Gaztelu-Urrutia. The film is set in a massive vertical prison known as the “Vertical Self-Management Center,” where inmates are housed on hundreds of levels, each containing two prisoners. A platform laden with food descends daily from the top floor, stopping briefly at each level, allowing prisoners to eat what remains after those above have consumed their share. Due to the greed of those on higher floors, the food dwindles drastically by the time it reaches the lower levels, leading to starvation and extreme desperation”…

There is the “the grim reality of cannibalism among the lower levels. The film explores themes of social inequality, class struggle, and the dehumanizing effects of systemic injustice, with the prison serving as a stark allegory for wealth disparity.”

This Volo/GRU nonsense just points to how really panicked the Kieve neo nazi regime and its EU and NATO backers really are.
These wild stories are very much like Goebbels propaganda near the end of WWII, when the Zhukov and Rosskosskyy armies were setting up to envelope Berlin. Remember that according to Axis Sally, the Nazis had developed a ‘secret weapon’ that would destroy all the Russian armies and save the Third Reich (they were most likely referring to the German A bomb program that at that point in time was more than three full years behind the Manhattan project).
In thirty days RF troops will parading openly in Kieve and Odessa, and Volo and Umerov will either be lampost decorations, in jail in DC, or relaxing in their beachfront Haifa condo’s, take your pick………….

Let us not make assumptions.
The Utes only hunted bison after they acquired horses from the Spanish.
Hunting by Utes and other tribes that culturally appropriated the horse significantly contributed to the extirpation of the the bison.

It’s not advisable to use the DNS services provided by your ISP, especially in Freedom-of-Speech-challenged countries.  Global hyperscalers like 1.1.1.1, 8.8.8.8 or 9.9.9.9 are a good starting point.

You are welcome to your view but I disagree when it comes to Trump who in my view exploits his quasi-religious following of MAGA even to the extent of creating his personal ‘Truth’ Social website (full of disinformation) and even acting like god on occasion.  Laws don’t even matter to him, neither does ethical conduct. He’s done this in both terms of office. He’s an enormous populist and a demagogue who cultivates a narcissistic self-orientated Trump religion cult. He uses those people he fools into voting for him for the sake of his own wealth and that of the US billionaire class, no tmaking their lives better. But it is not that they have much choice. It’s tweedledum or tweedledumber in the US in terms of voting choice. Some in Europe resort to other nefarious tactics but are nowhere near the same in how they try to create a cult; but I would still criticize them for completely different reasons. Putin is far more professional, educated, does not glorify everything he does, is erudite, polite, not a populist, capable, fit, able to well explain his case intelligently and speak for hours, has done an extraordinary job with the SMO against Ukraine, NATO and US, works extremely hard and travels extensively, and is actually sincerely there for his people IMO. He’s also the best we have along with Xi Jinping at stopping the insanity of Western neo-imperialism.  Both are involved in the transition towards the Global South and multipolarity away from the bullying methods of the monopolar US leaders.  If you call that a bias, so be it. I don’t see that if I criticise one leader I have to criticise another in similar ways. I’m not here to necessarily compare and contrast a subject as if I am writing an essay.

I noticed Trump even with body language used the  mudra of the Buddha or Vedic Dakshinamurti when he spoke to his followers the first time in office. Now he resorts to the open arms Jesus pose. Its all calculated.

Cheers!  You made me chuckle.  Yes, you are right, it’s hard to argue against anything you list.

Perhaps I see it a bit differently, because in Germany we had Merkel, Scholz and now Merz; von der Leyen, Kallas, Borrell, Weber in the EU; these are all very weak personalities, shapeless, spineless, exchangeable.  Maybe of all these weak leader personalities in the West, Trump offers a breeze of fresh air on first sight, but he is no politician, he is no strategist, he is no statesman (no western leader is no more, with some otherwise rather powerless (since they represent small countries) exceptions as we’ve learned last week, like Belgium PM Bart De Wever and Viktor Orban) — and to put it bluntly, Trump is as much full of shit as Biden and Obama were.  The only difference to the latter is broad media support or the lack of criticism.  Same goes for Clinton and Bush the Younger.  No matter how you look at it, these “leaders” offer no coherency, no long-term plan, no grounding in reality.  They believe they can create reality just by talking.

Still, to Trump’s merit, what you call “cult following” is a reactionary manifestation that was literally begged for by the reckless doings of the other side: climate cult, LGBTu90jirto+ cult, Freedom of Speech crackdown cult, Covid mask cult, BLM cult etc.  These cults just “appeared” with no apparent leader figure, because they were born out of a fake “consent” pre-manufactured by political sockpuppets and media, without debate and without due diligence.  With that in mind, it might be a little more than just Trump and MAGA.
