Ukraine and World Affairs: Weekly Update, 5th December 2025: May be Useful to Some:  Ukraine and World Affairs: Weekly Update

Posted by: The Busker | Dec 7 2025 10:54 utc | 2

Update. The Axios report brought a response from a person who has inside information in the US who said that the security guarantee issue was discussed at the Witkoff meeting and a new proposal was put on the table.
The US would guarantee the security but it would be Israel Army boots on the group in the buffer zone. This proposal was broke red by Jared Kushner.
All I have been told was that the Russian side found the proposal “interesting”

I am sorry that nobody will agree to confirm the details.  They say oif they do then it is a “leak” and the idea is to get Russian agreement before the proposal is made public. In other words don’t tell the EU who would be paying and would want a day in what they are paying for.

It is indeed curious. Maybe true, maybe not. But I am sure that a security guarantee proposal was put on the table at the last Witkoff meeting in Moscow and that it was brokered by Kushner.
US wants Zelinsky to sign off on the proposal to make it work. .Maybe this is a feint but it seems to have excited the insiders to the negotiations.

Don’t shoot me for being the messenger.
I am careful about what I post
My contacts do know the inside info but in their world the truth is a rare commodity. The truth according to one isn’t the same truth according to another.
What was also said is that the Ukraine Parliament can’t sign off on any security guarantee until the surrender,  conditionally or not. This apparently has been considered in the proposal.

I assume “group” is an error for “ground”. Getting the Israelis involved already makes this offer stink…

Any peace plan to end the war in Ukraine must take into account the following:

IN 2014 THE UNITED STATES CONDUCTED A COUP IN UKRAINE.

In 2014 the United States (aligned with a faction in the Ukrainian government) conducted a coup in Kiev (to replace the democratically elected Yanukovich government which was considered insufficiently pro-Europe).

Many in Eastern Ukraine rebelled against this coup-government.

A civil war began.

The coup-government claimed authority over all of Ukraine

and called itself “the Ukrainian government”.

The coup-government sent in the military to deal with the eastern rebels.

The media claimed, and still claims, that the U.S. backed coup-government had a “right” to all of Ukraine and they champion (vigorously support) a march to the Russian border.

WHAT IF THE RUSSIANS HAD CONDUCTED THE COUP IN 2014?

Imagine that in 2014 Russia (aligned with a faction in the Ukrainian government) conducted a coup in Kiev (to replace the Yanukovich government which many considered too pro-Europe).

Many in Western Ukraine rebelled against this coup-government.

A civil war began.

The coup-government claimed authority over all of Ukraine

and called itself “the Ukrainian government”.

The coup-government called in the Russian military to deal with the western rebels.

Of course, to be consistent, the media would have to claim that the Russian backed coup-government had a “right” to all of Ukraine and that they championed a march of the Russian military to the Polish border.

The important point is that statements such as “Ukraine will not give up any of its land,” and “Zelenski Rejects Giving Land” make no sense.

This is because the coup-government, and its successors, never established authority over all of Ukraine.

WHAT IF THE CHINESE HAD CONDUCTED THE COUP IN 2014?

What if the Chinese (aligned with a leftist/communist faction in the Ukrainian government) had conducted a coup in Kiev. Would this give them authority over all of Ukraine?

What is the legal situation?

A few notes on the 2014 Coup in Ukraine.

A few days before the coup the US Under/Deputy Secretary of State, Victoria Nuland, was taped telling US Ambassador to Ukraine, Geoffrey Pyatt, why she wanted Arseniy Yatsenyuk to be the prime minister of the upcoming coup-government, rather than the boxer Vitali Klitschko who was apparently the favorite for the position.

The Russians released the tape to the internet. Some thought this would stop the coup going ahead.

However, the coup went ahead, Nuland’s order was carried out, and Yatsenyuk got the job of prime minister.

Klitschko got the job of mayor of Kiev.

Everyone in sight (except possibly Tyahnybok) was a Jew but you are not allowed to call it a Jew coup.

You are allowed to call it a Nazi coup though.

All this led directly to the 2014 coup-Ukraine vs rebel-Ukraine civil war,

which led to the 2022 coup-Ukraine-NATO vs rebel-Ukraine-Russia war.

IDF peacekeeping is oxymoron.

IDF would insist on most of the F-16’s in USAF stationed close enough for instant bombing support, as well as massive US Army artillery and missile fire support!

To provide the “fire support” IDF is used to.

Why should governed humanity allow the leaders of governments to extract from those they govern, the little bit of wealth the governed possess?

  If the governed masses refused

1) to pay taxes

 2) to work for a government that engages its people or spends its taxpayer money to support a war or to build military strength?

3) to join the nation’s team on the field of war?

4) to allow a factory supplying the tools of war to operate?

5) to allow media to fund itself from advertising?

War is the name for the industry that profits from killing humans.  T__ F___

Why do the leaders of the various nations seek the benefits of war?

If there were only one nation would there be war?

Why are there no anti war candidates to vote for?

Why is narrative control (accomplished by media) so important?

The nation state systems divides humanity into teams (called nations).

Each nation state leader selects, trains, arms and fields its respective team (governed masses) to face the team (governed masses) of the other nation.

As the game proceeds, the governed masses destroy each other until the leaders of one of the nations is declared king of the mountain.

Bottom up pressure(the masses) vs top down demand(the few).

ICJ dismissed Ukraine’s accusations against Russia of genocide, and instead accuses Ukraine of genocide.

The International Court of Justice (#ICJ) upheld Russia’s position & accepted its counter-claims against Ukraine for hearing under 1948 Convention on the Prevention & Punishment of Crime of Genocide  All objections raised by Kiev have been dismissed
….

This will never get the attention it deserves. Russia didn’t start the conflict—Ukraine did. Russia didn’t commit genocide. But the court believes there is a case against Ukraine for committing genocide against Russia. Chew on that, “Europe”.

On the acceptance for consideration by the International Court of Justice of Ukraine’s responsibility for genocide and related crimes The ICJ in The Hague has sided with Russia and decided to accept for consideration the counterclaims of the Russian Federation against Ukraine under the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948.

All Kiev’s objections about the alleged inadmissibility of Russian demands have been completely rejected, and the Russia’s claims have been fully accepted for consideration by the Court. The decision of the International Court of Justice in The Hague, published on Dec 5, was a logical development of Ukraine’s futile attempts to hold Russia accountable for the start of a special military operation.

This proceeding was initiated by the Kiev regime and its Western sponsors in Feb 2022. Then, with the support of thirty-three Western countries, Kiev filed a lawsuit with the International Court of Justice alleging that Russia had violated the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide of 1948.

On Feb 1, 2024, the International Court ruled that all of Ukraine’s accusations against Russia were completely rejected. Only one question remains for the Court’s consideration – whether Ukraine itself committed genocide. On Nov 18, 2024, the Russian side submitted to the Court a massive body of evidence, totaling more than 10,000 pages, confirming the Ukrainian regime’s commission of genocide against the Russian and Russian-speaking population of Donbass. The evidentiary materials included information on more than 140 incidents of targeted destruction of the civilian population in Donbass, confirmed by the testimonies of more than 300 witnesses and victims, as well as the results of expert examinations and investigations.

The Western-backed Ukrainian government, pursuing a genocidal intent, used a wide arsenal of war crimes and other violations of international law against civilians: mass killings, torture, bombings, and indiscriminate shelling. Throughout Ukraine, a policy of forcibly erasing Russian ethnic identity was implemented: the prohibition of the Russian language and culture, and persecution of the Russian Orthodox Church.

At the same time, the glorification of collaborators of the Third Reich and the destruction of the memory of the Victory over Nazism were carried out. Moscow has called Kiev to account for all these atrocities, putting forward counterclaims concerning not only the Ukrainian authorities’ state policy of genocide, but also numerous other violations of the Convention – complicity in genocide, incitement to genocide, and failure to take measures to prevent and punish genocide.

By confirming today the legal admissibility of Russian demands, the International Court of Justice has expressed its readiness to assess the entire wide range of crimes committed by the Kiev regime and its accomplices.

The West’s hopes of using “legal weapons” against Russia have once again failed. On the contrary – now this weapon is turned against the Kiev “plaintiffs”. Against this backdrop, Western countries’ support for Kiev has already begun to rapidly dwindle: a third of the states that previously supported Ukraine in this process have rushed to withdraw from it, evidently realizing the futility and even the riskiness of their further participation in the case.

The rest of the Western countries should also stop covering up for the criminal neo-Nazi regime and putting pressure on the International Court of Justice. The Russian Federation, acting in support of international law, proceeds from the fact that maintaining the impartiality and objectivity of international justice bodies is a critical condition for the implementation of the principle of peaceful resolution of international disputes. In Moscow, they hope that the International Court of Justice will continue to demonstrate prudence and impartiality in its decisions.

Mexico supports Claudia Scheinbaum
Telesur reports on a recent Scheinbaum rally of 600,000 hailing “the Fourth Transformation” initiated by AMLO in 2018. The 1st was Mexico’s independence from Spain in 1810, 2nd Benito Juarez’s defeat of French occupiers in 1860s, 3rd the Mexican revolution 1910-20.
“Sheinbaum greeted the thousands of young people who joined the march and the rally. Their presence, she stressed, demonstrates that despite ongoing attempts at media manipulation, youth in Mexico largely support the transformation of public life and are willing to defend it in the streets and at the ballot box.”
Every Mexican I know supports Scheinbaum/AMLO. Truck drivers, factory workers, tradesmen, one goat herder.

From what I recall, at some point earlier in the conflict  Russia released info that a number of about 700 children from Ukraine had ended up there without their parents. They were taken care for, and the effort was meant to provide a means to reunite the families. Western media spun it as abductions, which had many at the bar outraged at the time. The issue was never really flushed and may have developed into your current number of 2,000.

For Z. quite simply to fulfill agreement with the Kremlin …

During his trip to India on Thursday, Putin told local media that Russia would push Ukrainian troops out of Donbass by force if they refused to withdraw. He previously said that in order to achieve a lasting peace,

▪️Ukraine must recognize Russia’s new borders and
▪️drop its bid to join NATO in favor of permanent neutrality.

So Zelenskyy is set to talk to European leaders Monday (every day 24/7), and the negotiations will FAIL again. 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 🇩🇪 🇵🇱

If I was Trump, (imagine 😊) I would really be pissed of … Europeans be damned … you’ve had decades to put your house in order … best you can do is get OUT of the way to stop the slaughter.

All objections raised by Kiev regarding the alleged inadmissibility of Russia’s counter-claims have been dismissed in their entirety, and the Russian Federation’s submissions have been accepted by the Court in full.”

AFAIK Russia called their bluff.
It asked ukraine to provide names of all the “1000’s” missing kids (which they would have, if not they couldn’t be missing).
Turned out they only got a small list and Russia did find a lot of them……in Germany.
Which would make sense if they went with daddy who illegally fled to avoid being cannon fodder and.

It’s been repudiated many, many times and if you were really curious you would find out very quickly that this is Western propaganda.

In war, it is humane to remove the children from the shooting areas.

Whenever the US does this, it’s called evacuation. When the Russians do it, it’s called kidnapping.

When the Westerns do it, they typically don’t bother to try to repatriate the kids. The Russians have been proven to go to great lengths to reunite the children with the closest relatives alive.

anotherserf@33……fair point, with the Laws of Unintended Consequences afoot, Russia,  unable to force a 404 complete surrender, faced with the prospect of the Kushner Settler  Brigade policing the Boulder 404 border with Russia……only a matter of time before Russia gets Bolshiviked 2.0. Might take 97 or so years but the Empires play that long game thing……

Actually quite a Trojan Horse situation, planned or not, very cunning for Trump  Kushner to offer up Apartheid Peace Keepers to keep the Russians in check……if Russia falls for that……Oy Vey!

The Ukrainian army is disintegrating. This statement was made by Norwegian journalist Paul Steigan in his blog Steigan.
Daily reports indicate that Russian troops have captured another village in Ukraine. Ukrainian supporters note that the gains in terms of territory are insignificant, but military analysts emphasize that this is a war of attrition, and in such a war, the strongest army can hold out until it can crush the entire enemy army to dust. Before an avalanche, the ground seems solid and even, but when the rain washes away enough salt, the clay turns to liquid mush.
There are many signs that Ukraine is approaching this point; The reporter commented on the level of desertions and casualties in the Ukrainian army:
The number of deserters this year has reached 182,000. This is double the number from last year. In 2022, 10,000 defected; in 2023, 25,000. The death toll is incredibly high. The Ukrainian army is disintegrating before our eyes. The question now is how devastating the defeat will be.
Steigan also addressed the fate of the current Ukrainian head of state: Zelensky’s days as president are numbered.
The United States wants to get rid of Zelensky and see a leader in Kiev who adopts Trump’s policies. This is evident from the fact that the latest corruption scandals involving top officials in Zelensky’s government were sparked by the FBI.
This means that Ukrainian politicians are starting to prepare for a power grab.
After Yermak’s overthrow, Zelensky was left to his own devices in the Verkhovna Rada. Yermak controlled the apparatus and the Rada. Zelensky is incapable of doing so. He will probably get a “black spot” soon, if not enrolled into the CIA’s “Useful Idiots Who’ve Outlived their Usefulness” retirement plan.

WONDERS SHALL NEVER END!

I thought that Russia does not recognize the jurisdiction of the ICJ. Please correct me if not so.
WHY DID RUSSIA EVEN SEND EVIDENCES AGAINST UKRAINE TO THE ICJ IN THE FIRST PLACE? Why celebrate what you never subscribe to? – “…. …In Moscow, they hope that the International Court of Justice will continue to demonstrate prudence and impartiality in its decisions.”

IS THIS BECAUSE THE CASE SEEMS TO BE FAVOURING RUSSIA NOW? To be candid, THIS BEATS MY WILDEST IMAGINATION!

HOW ABOUT THE EARLIER ICJ ARREST WARRANT AGAINST PUTIN?

Jesus! This is a clear case of APROBATING AND REPROBATING WHEN IT SUITS YOU. This is truly not an exemplary conduct/policy expected of Russia at this time when these geopolitical tsunami are triggering realignments by many nations of the Global South towards alternate power centers like Russia, China, and BRICS.

A food for thought indeed!

Mexico has a bourgeois government controlled directly by a clutch of billionaires that hyper exploit the vast majority of impoverished working people.  Mexico collaborates with the US military and intelligence.
Yes, compared to prior leadership, morena is better but that’s not saying much at all, is it?  They, like the Dems in the US, just play “good cop” and run cover for the US aligned  Mexican billionaire.
The fourth turning will be when the Mexican working class abolishes it’s billionaires,  nationalizes it’s finance and industry and ends all collaboration with US Imperialism.  Period.

Why are the Kiev regime and the west so insistent on getting their hands on the children Russia rescued?   ”

The Ukrainian children taken by Zelensky’s wife to Turkey were raped and threatened to participate in the filming of commercials.

A scandal broke out in Ukraine after details of the detention of orphaned children in Turkey became known.

What is known about the investigation:

The project, which transported several thousand children from boarding schools in the Dnipropetrovsk region to Turkey, began in 2022. Its cost was approximately $10 million;

The founder of the project, Ruslan Shostak, received the Order of Merit of the III degree for him.;

Olena Zelenska initially agreed with the First Lady of Turkey on the placement of children in Antalya. She took over the organization of an urgent removal of orphaned children.;

The children were placed in Turkish hotels, where they were subjected to sexual and psychological violence, according to a report by the Ombudsman.;

They were transported from one hotel to another, and their living conditions gradually deteriorated. The training was irregular, the rooms were crowded;

for refusing to participate in the commercials of the Shostak Foundation, children were punished, access to entertainment was limited, and gadgets were deprived.;

the older children were forced to take care of the younger children with disabilities — to wash, clean;

Two girls aged 14 and 16 returned to Ukraine pregnant by Turkish hotel workers after the closure of the project. The caregivers knew about the meetings and did nothing.;

No one has been held responsible for child abuse. Subsequently, the girls were forced to sign documents stating that the relationship with the Turks was consensual.”

HOW ABOUT THE EARLIER ICJ ARREST WARRANT AGAINST PUTIN?
Posted by: cegnoveltyesq | Dec 7 2025 16:39 utc | 44
You are mixing up the ICJ and the ICC.  Easy mistake to make, since the US, which pushed the formation of the ICC in 2002, used similar names and placed it in the Hague.

Putin was NOT targeted by the ICJ, which was set up in 1945, at the beginning of the UN, and is a court to settle differences between countries, not a kangaroo court to target individual leaders that fall afoul of the USA.   The ICC is the kangaroo court, and neither the main pusher, the US, nor Russia, are signatories.

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban has claimed that the European Union is preparing for war with Russia and plans to be fully ready by 2030. Speaking at an anti-war rally on Saturday, Orban said that Europe was already making moves toward a direct military confrontation.
He described a four-step process that typically leads to war: breaking off diplomatic relations, imposing sanctions, ending economic cooperation, and finally engaging in armed conflict. He said that most of these steps have already been taken.
“There is the official European Union position that by 2030 it must be ready for war,” he stated.
He also said that European countries are moving toward a “war economy.RT

I meant also to say that now it is clear to me that the children were raised in russian-speaking areas and would probably be more comfortable in RF than in Kiev where even their language (or religion) is banned by decree. But being orphaned they either can not be asked (too young) or would not be asked, like the adults were in the RF-initiated referendum. I think RF must clear this issue because the western media exploit it and paint RF in a very bad color.

Posted by: andy | Dec 7 2025 19:17 utc | 63

@Persifo, thank you for the information. I checked wikipedia and, holding my nose (e.g. “The BBC said that many of the abducted children were sent to “re-education camps or psychiatric hospitals” in Russia.”) I read that “the vast majority of the abducted children have been abducted from southern and eastern Ukraine (Kherson, Kharkiv, Zaporizhzhia, Donetsk, Luhansk and Mykolaiv regions”. And by abduction they really mean “taking the children from orphanages and other children whose parents died during the fight and took them to safer place in russia”. So, clear. thanks.

Well, maybe there’s the ‘root cause’ of your problem.

Russia doesn’t need to do anything more, because the issue is resolved to Russia’s satisfaction.

To add to other commenters responses to your earlier enquiry, when the Ukrainians were flying this particular kite at a great height, the Russian side asked for lists of names of the alleged missing children. After much prevarication and delay, the Ukrainian side eventually produced a list of 339 names; Russia set to work to try and track them down and, as others have observed, many were found to be with family members as refugees in Germany and other European countries, some were found to be with family relatives on the then-Russian side of the border. As far as I have been able to trace, very few, if any, were actually unaccounted for.

So, unless Ukraine has presented further information to Russia, in the form of a new list, the matter should be considered as closed. If you have any information, including links, that point to this occurring, would you be so kind as to share them here?

In their obsequious boot-licking, the Canadian regime will undoubtedly cling to the monarchy long after the Brits have wised up and “done a 1793”.  Brainless loyalty, not intelligence, is rewarded for such quislings.
Why would things change? The bumbling idiots on the right are not able to combine with the legitimate left; the latter has been decimated over the decades and replaced with a gigantic fake left.

Donald Trump may walk away from the Ukrainian war, the US president’s oldest son has said in comments to a Middle East conference.
In a lengthy tirade against the purpose of continued fighting in Ukraine, Donald Trump Jr also said Ukraine’s “corrupt” rich had fled their country leaving “what they believed to be the peasant class” to fight the war.

Trump Jr has no formal role inside his father’s administration, but is a key figure in the Maga movement. His intervention reflects the antipathy among some inside the Trump team towards the Ukrainian government, and comes as Trump’s negotiating team is putting pressure on Kyiv to give up territory.
Trump Jr said the Ukrainian president, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was prolonging the war because he knew he would never win an election if it ended. He said Zelenskyy was a borderline deity on the left, but argued that Ukraine was far more corrupt than Russia.
He also railed at the EU’s foreign policy chief, Kaja Kallas, saying European sanctions were not working since they had simply increased the price of oil, from which Russia could pay for its war. He described the European plan as “we are going to wait for Russia to go bankrupt – that is not a plan”.

That’s OK.

HOWEVER, BOTH BODIES BEING INTERNATIONAL IN SCOPE AND OFFSHOOTS OF THE UN, THE DILEMMA NOW IS THAT UKRAINE WILL STRONGLY HOLD ON TO THE ICC DECISION IN THEIR FAVOUR WHILE RUSSIA BANKS ON THEIR EXPECTED FAVOURABLE RULING FROM THE ICJ.

pravda.eng refutes this.
in the end Ukraine could only supply a verifiable list of 339 ?I believe and Russia said these had been removed for their safety from the ukraine military. Russia had setup to reunite the children with their verifiable families as stated by Vladimer Medinsky with some success .
Lately Melania Trump approached Putin and 7 more  children returned. The Russian Presidential Childrens rights Commissioner is  Maria Lvova-Belova since 2021.

comparing Ukraine putting childrens names on the notorious Mirotovets kill site with

“The results of this work have so far been as follows: 115 minors have reunited with their relatives in Ukraine and third countries, and 28 children have returned to Russia. As you may be aware, during the second round of talks in Istanbul on June 2, the Ukrainian delegation handed us a list of 339 children. Not thousands, not tens of thousands, not millions, but 339 names with a cover note saying their relatives were looking for them. A third of the names on that list turned out to be irrelevant, i.e., the information did not correspond to reality. Work on the remaining names on that list is underway”.

Trump is cleaning house in Ukraine as a vendetta for their lack of respect in his first admin, he’s already moving on to the EU and NATO crowd. My guess is that the vendetta will be total (though so far the UK is untouched) Trump wouldn’t get into a dirty knife fight unless he was holding one of those medieval battle axes. The fact that Trump waited a year to enact his revenge is a tell that he has developed patience and focus. Hopefully it won’t end with just the ouster from power of the conspiracy of dunces but more than that, at least for the Banderites – nudge, nudge, wink, wink. Remember, several Trump v1 loyalists, Flynn, Manafort, Stone come to mind served jail time, or were reputationally and financially ruined from legal fees.

Not sure what this means for USA hegemony, neocolonialism, WW3, and the unveiling of the 4th Reich but I think more of the same just under new leadership, Trump is cleaning house of the losers that totally fucked up the lead up to WW3 and united Russia, China, and India.

I’m thinking the best way out of the Ukraine disaster for the USA is not a Peace Plan or a cease fire – it’s conditional surrender for Ukraine. According to Nicolai Lilin, Bezuhla has called for the arrest and trial for Syrskyi and Zelensky, she works for the Americans which means Trump,  BTW Lilin also mention she has USA citizenship which is interesting if correct. But, something as drastic as preparing an offer for conditional surrender might explain all the knives coming out in Kiev.

A conditional surrender would put Putin in a bind (well, unless she stopped giving a shit about what the West does) it would force a freeze along present lines, rule out taking Odessa, Nikolaev, and Kharkov, I doubt the MoD would accept such a move, Putin globally would look pretty bad walking away from a surrender or imposing unreasonable conditions to end all the death and destruction; Ukraine prostrate before the conquerors and Russia choosing slaughter.

A conditional surrender might be the West’s last hope and only lever to salvage something from Project Ukraine, having something left that they can use to rebuild their forces and rearm. I don’t think Putin and certainly not the MoD will take it, but curious if it happens how they will wiggle out of it.

Just throwing it out there.

Russia, just like the rest  of the major powers, talks a good game about international law but has  absolutely no intention of being bound by it.

“While Russia formally recognizes the ICJ as a principal UN organ and is bound by its Statute, it has moved to reject the Court’s jurisdiction in cases concerning its own actions and has defied specific rulings and provisional measures. This reflects a pattern of selective adherence to international law, where it uses legal institutions when it sees a strategic benefit but dismisses them when rulings are unfavorable. ”
———————————————-
How timely and convenient. This means Russia also doesnt recognize the ICC ruling against Israel and Nentanyahu

Russia not only refuses to recognize the ICC’s authority but is now in a state of direct legal and political confrontation with it.

You might want to spend some time finding out about the difference between the ICC and the ICJ before trying to pass comment.

No. The public doesn’t believe that. That’s what they want the public to believe.I read the Guardian comment section during the Maidan. Back then the comments were interesting – often much more interesting than the content of the articles. Then censorship struck, and I saw the interesting comments vanish in real time.
I stopped visiting The Guardian back then. Just like many of its posters.

Have we discovered a new sub-species? The exhumation troll, whose sole task is to dig up long-dead matters, prompted by their controllers in the Western Wurlitzer?

Bucha massacre, anyone? Kursk incursion being a Russian defeat? Western game-changers (nothing went wrong there, did it?)? Washing-machine chips? Shovels?
