That comment about Novorussiya is VERY significant. Six months ago, I would have thought that  while desirable, Dnepropetrovsk, the rest of Kherson, Zaporiazhia, Kharkov, Nikolayev and Odessa were goals just too far.Even Putin seemed willing to concede this.

I’ve saying since I started commenting here that Russia will not just annex the Donbas(s) but also Novorossiya and the whole of the shithole made-up country formerly known as the Ukraines, whether Russia likes it or not (and I think they like the idea, as every State wants more territory and people under it, especially people so similar to what they have already). These processes are deterministic.
The Ukraines will be destroyed like Germany was destroyed but in this case there is no army coming from the West, so inevitably, physically as in rivers flowing down, Russia will take the whole lot.
Due to poor judgement by mediocre politicians elected by old voters, Europe would like to oppose Russia, having an army advancing from the West in order to shrink Russia’s conquest.
But Europe cann’t have one these days mainly because the Americans are not committed enough and are actually gradually disengaging, and secondarily because the euro populace is just too hedonistic after decades of welfare to even consider dying for a cause.
So we do ever-decreasing procurement, funding and cheerleading for the losing side, wasting our treasure and resources into a failed project of expansion.

Sloviansk Annihilated: Russia’s Nine-Bomb Strike Shreds Kyiv Forces Concealed Inside Urban Hideouts

Russia launched major retaliatory strikes on Ukraine overnight, hitting a key energy facility in the Odesa region and leaving more than 51,800 households without electricity, according to Ukrainian officials. Additional Russian airstrikes targeted the city of Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast, causing structural damage and prompting renewed evacuation warnings. Ukraine’s energy operator reported continued rolling blackouts as repair teams worked under threat of further attacks, while regional authorities warned that power shortages and winter conditions are worsening the humanitarian situation across several front-line areas.

MS:
-RUAF continues bombing AFU positions in Gulyapole
-RUAF penetrated the AFU layered defense belt north of Gulyapole
-reports of AFU recapturing Ivainvka are false, the combat line runs around the village
-according to AFU general staff, RUAF hasn’t yet even entered Pokrovsk or Myrnograd
-RUAF entered Myrnograd also from west
-RUAF captured SE part of Hryshyne, entering central part
-RUAF broke through defense and forced AFU to pull back from Toretske and Sofiivka
-some more incremental RUAF progress SW of Seversk, clean up work of isolated AFU positions or strongholds which are now cut off. Removing this defense belt enables entering the operational space of Slavyansk from the south-east
-RUAF expanding their control around Yampil, Dibrova and Ozerne
-RUAF concentrating forces NE of Chernigov

I’m tempted to ask:

WHY IS THE KREMLIN APPROACHING THE US AS THE ARBITER (INSTEAD OF THE CHIEF INSTIGATOR) IN THIS SUPPOSED UKRAINE CONFLICT PEACE NEGOTIATIONS?

Well, this remarkable piece from the quintessential writer/geopolitical thinker CAITLIN JOHNSTONE is a food for rethought on the US false posture as an Arbiter rather than the adversary-in-chief.

World’s Most Tyrannical Government Wants To Free Venezuela From Tyranny

…Interesting.
Whenever I see the US empire saying they plan to remove the latest Official Bad Guy from power in order to liberate a nation from tyranny, I always want to ask, what is tyranny?

Is it tyranny to constantly topple foreign governments by force if their leaders disobey you?

Is it tyranny to circle the planet with hundreds of military bases in order to dominate all of humanity?

Is it tyranny to continuously be inflicting mass military slaughter, backing genocides, staging foreign coups, fomenting unrest and uprisings in foreign nations, meddling in foreign elections, funding proxy conflicts, imposing blockades and starvation sanctions on civilian populations, and engaging in nuclear brinkmanship in order to rule the world?

Is it tyranny to treat the entire global south as your personal piggy bank from which to extract limitless labor and resources and murder anyone who tries to inhibit these practices through any movement toward national sovereignty?

Because if it is, it’s a bit silly for the US to claim to be liberating any nation from tyranny.
Kinda like a morbidly obese man coming up to you and saying he’ll train you to shed those extra pounds.
It’s like Nick Fuentes offering cultural sensitivity training workshops.
It’s like the Green River Killer publishing a book on the the importance of combating toxic masculinity.

The US empire is the most tyrannical power structure on earth, by an extremely massive margin. There is no close second place in contention. Nobody else is brutalizing and terrorizing the entire planet into compliance with its dictates. No other power is constantly assaulting any government or population anywhere on earth that doesn’t bow to its demands. Only the US empire can be said to be guilty of this.

Even if Maduro really was the worst dictator on earth (he’s not), and even if this push for regime change really had anything to do with liberating the Venezuelan people (it doesn’t), and even if you could make a convincing argument that regime change interventionism would probably make things better for Venezuelans (you can’t), the US would be the last government on earth with any business doing so. The world’s most tyrannical power structure has no business trying to liberate anyone from tyranny.
If the US empire wants to make the world less tyrannical, its first and only move should be to dismantle itself.

=======================

SO, IN VIEW OF THE UNDISPUTED FACT THAT THE UKRAINE CONFLICT IS A US PROXY WAR ON RUSSIA, ANY ATTEMPT BY US TO NEGOTIATE ITS SETTLEMENT NOW (WHETHER REAL OR FAKED) OUGHT TO BE APPROACHED BY RUSSIA IN A FORMAT WHERE THE US FULLY UNVIELS ITSELF AS THE PRINCIPAL AGGRESSOR DISCUSSING SETTLEMENT TERMS WITH RUSSIA RATHER THAN AS A 3RD PARTY ARBITER.
UNDER THIS PROPER FORMAT, RUSSIA MUST THEN DEMAND A STOP OF ALL US INTEL AND WEAPONS SUPPLIES TO UKRAINE AS A CONDITION PRECEDENT TO ANY CESSATION OF HOSTILITIES.

I strongly believe that’s the only way to extract a lasting peace treaty between Russia, US, NATO & the EU to which everyone will abide by and thus satisfy Russia’s European security concerns out of which every other goal of the SMO derived its root.

The video doesn’t even say where this assumed attack took place.
It might be just someone’s fantasy of what Nato/Nafo thought what was supposed to happen during the 2023 counter-offensive. Or it’s just a projection on what is happening to AFU on many fronts.
Even their Ivanivka offensive was fake (for during Z negotiating with Macron). Their special ops in NW corner of Pokrovsk cost all those Budanov’s special forces. All the counter-attacks to unblock Myrnograd failed, the area is filled with Nato scrap metal used in those offensives.
No doubt Ukraine still holds azov or other neo-nazi regiment as so-called fire brigades but they don’t achieve much. Even if they attack RUAF might temporarily pull back and return with drones, bombs and artillery to hit whatever position they entrench in.

Sanctions are States trying to control the markets for geopolitical and/or ideological reasons, but the markets find ways to bypass restrictions.
The West has gone now thru 19 ever more ellaborate contortions to curtail the work of the markets to achieve geopolitical goals vis-a-vis the rise of Russia.

Germany’s parliament has approved a controversial new military service law that aims to boost Bundeswehr numbers and meet NATO targets as tensions with Russia spur calls for stronger defence capabilities, Reuters reports.
The legislation, backed after months of heated debate, introduces a dual-track system: a more lucrative voluntary service is intended to attract young recruits, but if enlistment falls short, lawmakers can activate needs-based conscription.
The bill sets ambitious expansion goals for the Bundeswehr, targeting up to 260,000 active soldiers – up from 183,000 currently – and at least 200,000 reservists by 2035.

US walk away from the conflict? You mean, including even indirect supply of weapons and ISR to Ukraine? NEVER! If you know the uni-party establishment in US and their bipartisan unity in warmongering affairs abroad, then you’ll understand that this conflict under the current tragectory will most likely trigger a nuclear holocaust if the proper parties (US & Russia doesn’t negotiate directly on settlement terms. US WILL NEVER WALK AWAY AND ALLOW RUSSIA AN EASY COMEBACK TO THE PEER-LEVEL ON ALL INDICES!

It should be obvious to all discerning minds that the current US peace effort is FAKE as being another MINSK intended to deceive Russia to sheat their sword, and to buy time to reload NATO/EU/Ukraine for the final battle against Russia seeing that this round is not going well for their proxies.

“Bundestag voted for a bill on Friday that allows the country to move towards conscription, as tensions with Russia spur calls for Europe to gain more independence from the US security umbrella.
The controversial bill passed with a relatively solid majority in the end, with 323 lawmakers voting yes, 272 voting no and one abstaining.
The move seeks to boost the numbers in Germany’s armed forces to approximately 260,000 soldiers, up from the current 180,000, in addition to an extra 200,000 reservists, by 2035.”

My fear for Ukraine and NATO/EU is a development like the one we have seen in Ukraine: armament, military build-up, and, when there are no more volunteers, declaration of martial law and thus blocking elections = removal of the current government and compulsory mobilization, including women, because it is assumed that these masses of soldiers can overrun Russia, no matter how many deaths there are.And then it will inevitably lead to a nuclear war (without the US) with far more than just one nuke.

Let’s see….. 2 “under arms” per person = 500,000  ???
From AI query
Germany currently has approximately 184,330 active military personnel. This number reflects an increase of about 1.5% (around 2,750 soldiers) from the previous year as of December 2025. The country is implementing a new military service law that aims to boost recruitment through incentives for voluntary service while reserving the option for compulsory service if needed.

Approximately 60,000 of Germany’s active military personnel are categorized as combat soldiers. This figure reflects the current focus on optimizing combat readiness and operational capabilities within the Bundeswehr, the German armed forces.

Bloomberg: US urges Europeans to oppose Ukraine loan
According to a Bloomberg report, the US has urged several European countries to reject the EU’s plan to use Russian assets. The money would be beneficial for a peace deal and post-war investments in Ukraine.
The US has lobbied several European Union countries to block the financing of a potential “Ukraine reparations loan” using frozen assets from the Russian central bank. This was reported by Bloomberg on Friday, citing unnamed European diplomats.

EU presents plan to use frozen Russian funds:
In the US view, the Russian assets are necessary for a peace deal between Moscow and Kyiv and should not be used to prolong the military negotiations. Besides promoting peace talks, Washington expects the Russian money to be used to finance post-war investments in Ukraine as part of its 28-point peace plan.
This week, the European Commission proposed using up to €90 billion of Russia’s frozen assets as collateral for a loan to Ukraine.
So far, Belgium, where the majority of the Russian money is frozen, has opposed the initiative, fearing the legal and financial repercussions. Prime Minister Bart De Wever has repeatedly called for all EU members to assume the potential risks. Besides Belgium, Hungary has rejected the Commission’s plan, while Slovakia refuses to provide military aid to Ukraine. However, a decision on the loan would only require the approval of a “qualified majority” of member states, Bloomberg pointed out.

Russia is ready to accept an unlimited number of Indian workers to fill the labor shortage. Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov stated that industry needs at least 800,000 people, trade needs 1.5 million, plus construction and services. The overall shortage in Russia is up to 5 million, and Indians will fill the gap.

This has dangers for Russia, in that some at least of these people will be UK or US agents.

Addressing the labor shortage is crucial for Russia to keep pace with its allies.

I presume they are getting labor from India rather than more from the DPRK (they already get Nork unskilled labor) for political reasons. If Indians live and work in Russia, that binds the two nations tighter.

I don’t think they are too worried about Indian plumbers reporting back to London on the conditions of Russian bathrooms.
These foreigners won’t be working in sensitive industries.

Manturov announced today that Russia is ready to accept an unlimited number of Indian migrant workers, who will meet Russia’s labor shortage, which is severely lacking in the country. This is especially true for skilled labor. Given the current labor market constraints, bringing in foreign labor is clearly inevitable.
This also explains the recruitment of North Koreans and Africans, in addition to migrants from Central Asia.

Of course, Russia only needs migrant workers because its economy is flourishing.

I’m sure you would agree that if Russia’s economy was on the point of collapse, with Putin about to be overthrown, the migrant worker policy wouldn’t be needed…

Russian labour shortages are largely driven by the size of their military … which at the moment is by far the largest in Europe. There’s a whole lot of civilian logistics required to maintain such a massive military effort … and so many of the young healthy men are now in uniform … someone still needs to produce food, do infrastructure maintenance, make replacement parts, etc, etc.

I think that’s one reason why Putin is gently squeezing the accelerator pedal and getting things over with … after pfaffing around building up momentum and slowly exhausting NATO’s reserves. Maintaining a massive military force in the field is a burden on any country. The other reason is they hit him in the oil pipes, and that stings … makes the guy angry … and you can tell he’s angry because his he looks exactly the same as he always does.

Mind you, Australia is also accepting unlimited migration from India and there really is no labour shortage, and Australia isn’t even at war  … it’s just a matter of “Ohh cheap labour, yes please!” We might safely presume the same incentives turn up all over the world. Silicon valley has been doing much the same thing for decades.

And maybe that is how he out-psyches the Western psychopaths. They are irrational, and it really “rustles their jimmies” that VVP doesn’t respond in the way that their world model tells them that he should do…

Oh dear, sometimes things catch me out; anyway, my reply was meant to remind that the ECB have also had their say, and will not be acting as a lender or guarantor of last resort.

That would make the theft too real. The whole EU idea is to steal the money without actually stealing it.

They are already half way there. It’s sitting right there on their table. They can almost touch it. I think they have already peeled off a few bits. I think they named those bits something about only the interest parts.

NATO expansion was always a red flag to Russia, but a prime objective for
DC neo con deep state.
NATO expanded in the Baltic states and Balkan states for the purpose of squeezing Russia on the east and Serbia completely.  Its not just a coincidence that Serbia is a Russian ally.
This entire expansion episode began under the tutelage of HW Bush Ex CIA director, and was continued under Clinton, GW Bush, Obama and Biden.
The plan basically signals an end to the neo con plans for a surrounded and subservient Russia.
Apparently the DJT administration has read the book authored by Patrick J. Buchanan, ‘Its a Republic Not an Empire’, in which Buchanan debunks the US world policeman concept and denounces NATO expansion as a road to the next world war.  So true.

You claimed a million man under arms, reserves are not “under arms”.

Additionally your figure is from 2023, the reserve estimates for 2025 are at roughly 836,000. Yet Germany’s own Bundestag does not believe the reserve numbers – they voted to increase active soldiers to 260,000 and actual reserves to 200,000 just recently.

Just my €0.02…

Germany : “reserve” vs “under arms”
IMU:
reserve “high number” : anybody having had military education ( starting as involuntary conscript ) passive reserve. not even enough green socks around to fit them all.
reserve “low number” : people military _recurring_ training. active reserve. ( tend to have a green bag at home )

“To the last Ukrainian” is running into difficulties; video clip of a ‘press-gang’ vehicle being smashed up and the captives released: https://news-pravda.com/world/2025/12/06/1915377.html

The anger of the people is terrible…

More military lawlessness; a report about a Ukrainian military unit occupying and ransacking a state-owned farming enterprise. When the local workforce tried to re-enter, they were shot at: https://news-pravda.com/world/2025/12/06/1915636.html

I’ve thought for some time that Ukraine is a failed state, I’m not seeing anything to change that view.

Americans will not support those who seek independence in order to replace a far-off tyranny with a local despotism. They will not aid those who promote a suicidal nationalism based upon ethnic hatred.

We will support those who want to build democracy. By democracy, we mean a system of government in which people may vie openly for the hearts — and yes, the votes — of the public. We mean a system of government that derives its just power from the consent of the governed, that retains its legitimacy by controlling its appetite for power.

100% what US policy has been, yes siree sir. Clandestine reging change operations and phoney elections you say? Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain! Move along now.

I have commented in this bar that this kind of western witchcraft that captures governments needs to be a part of a Yalta II security architecture prohibitions – the musings of an old libertarian. The US National Security Strategy signals some roome for this, though the purple haired post modernist in the air conditioned rooms if the Blob will be honor bound such considerations from the patriarchy – of which Bush 1 is an inside member by definition.

I am not optimistic for a Yalta II. The 1.8 million dead Ukranian men should hang like a burning tire from the necks of the war vampire coven responsible – in the US Obama, Biden, Nuland, etc. However the structure of European politics and US information industry propaganda conditions against it. For Europeans accustomed to growing extra national power from Belgium just will not assign blame to their government. Blaming a boogeyman in harmony with the dopamine spike cycle is the easier heuristic.
