I note in support of Ben’s analysis, I read today that the Warmonger Rubio has been recently in Paraguay to finalize a murikan military build up in Paraguay.
Ben gives insight into who is really running drugs.   Notably the Banana Billionaires from Ecuador who are collaborators with murika in oil stealing and military bases, as well as the drugs of course.    Murika doesn’t seem to mind drug running as long as it is done by friendly dictators.
A word on the fast boats.  OK two words.  First, none of them have even the most remote chance of reaching murika, which is at least 1200 miles away, on one tank of gas.   Second, if they are fisher fellers, they don’t carry ice due to space and weight considerations, so they hurry home with their catch.   If they happen to be carrying people – think of them as mini ferries, or perhaps water taxis, well who wants to stooge along in the sun with a little putput?

The ruling elite in Mexico are overly proud of their “purely” Spanish ancestry. ..some of them even of “Vestergot” descent…yeah, originally from Sweden…a long time ago, even before I was born.  That bit of racism has long elicited from the Mestizo majority a counter-approach.  Their position as “The Race”, could be described as counter-racism.
 
In California, Texas and especially New Mexico, the Hispanics in that state were of almost totally direct Spanish descent.  It is highly doubtful whether any of those who consider themselves as “La Raza” ever set foot in those states.  That huge demographic in New Mexico tend to in many cases despise migrants from Mexico.  They just don’t get along.  Texas, originally with some Spanish settlers, is all mixed up now.  The American immigraants into Texas were actually INVITED to settle there by the Mexican government, in part due to the fact that the “La Razas” were terrified of the Commanches back in the day.  As for California, perhaps a small dribble of the Hispanic population there were from south of the border…with most of them probably being servants of the Spanish Colons.
 
Thus, the La Raza movement into California have very little claim on that land.

Your P.O.V. is more than slightly “academically correct”.  Dewey could not hold a sputtering candle to Lewis Mumford, or to Marshall McLuhan.  Mumford, now hardly known even in academic circles, delivered numerous addresses in Ivy League auditoriums, mostly in the ’30’s.  I.M.H.O., Mumford was the most astute and visionary cultural historian in American history, thus also a philosopher (in more the Socratic and Platonic sense than that of the sophists, the cynics and the Aristotelians).
Whenever I read an intellectually “thick” volume, the genuinely stimulating ones induce me to not only making marginal notes, but also encourage my own thought processes in novel and creative directions.  In his now almost unavailable “Art and Technics” published by the Columbia University Press clear back in 1960; Mumford establishes a case against the reductionist, materialist, academicist disbalance which has been in the academic driver’s seat since the days of Francis Bacon and fully established by the French “Philosophs” who emblemated “The Age of Enlightenment”.  Those intellectual half-wits completely negated the arts and spirituality because the goddamned fools could not “prove” it by means of laboratory tests and measurements via the icon of “the Scienfific Method”.
 
Another off the charts philosopher is the late British writer, Colin Wilson.  He is another independent and original thinker who is not a part of the academicist herd.  Wilson too, inspired page after page of intuitively developed observations and applications. Wilson was essentially the heir of Alfred North Whitehead, who taught initially in the original Cambridge across the pond and latterly at the Cambridge housed institution in Massachusetts.  Whitehead may be considered by some academicist reductionists as a bit “off the Reservation”.  However, his curriculum vitae is such that he was virtually untouchable by the critic class.

 China just introduced the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP), which has a medical part.  Arnaud Bertrand on X just had a long tweet about it. It may be a big deal. No internet firewall there, for instance 

HEALTH: Basically the rule is that if a medicine or medical device is approved by regulatory agencies anywhere in the world, it can be used in Hainan – even if banned on the mainland.

Other things I think I know about medicine in China overall: the 6G is partly to make rural medicine better; Beijing hopes for increasing use of AI in diagnosis; a recent rule allows in some cities foreign-owned hospital companies to open.

In verbal engagements or forums whether online or offline, many people engage in such trickery. A variation of this is two antagonists,if proponent is saying or doing 1, then antagonist 1 will say how could you do this? ,if proponent is saying or doing opposite of 1, then antagonist 2 will say how could you do this? The concept of Lebenswelt, the topic of experience, the term “bracketing out” … there will be more.
