MintPress News: Dr Sharmine Narwani

‘Saudi Arabia just said NO to Israel & the US…’

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dyRzGS1TQJI

“As Israel escalates bombing in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza with total impunity, Sharmine Narwani from The Cradle, reveals how Saudi Arabia is refusing normalization with Netanyahu’s cabinet, why Russia is reestablishing military posts on Israel’s northern border, and how Yemen’s Ansarallah = unfiltered and self-reliant – has become the most effective force in the Axis of Resistance.

From the exposure of the ‘rules-based order’ as a colonial double standard to the hidden architecture of US-Israeli coercion, this conversation cuts through the propaganda to expose the real balance of power in the Middle East.”

Superb analysis.

Israel is found once again to have deluged Lebanon with banned cluster bombs – tiny land mines that don’t discriminate between fighters and civilians, and kill and maim for years afterwards, often children. Israel dropped 4 million on Lebanon in 2006.

Israeli firm Elbit makes most of these munitions. Starmer’s government rewrote the UK’s definition of terrorism to proscribe Palestine Action this year. The group had targeted Elbit’s UK factories to stop them supplying weapons for Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

Thousands of Britons have been arrested for holding a sign saying they oppose genocide and support Palestine Action.

I wish this lovely lady wasn’t unconsciously emanating the powerful and genocidal perfime of Muslim Brotherhood  bullshit.
And how are we supposed to believe that Zionist , US envoys like Barrack who support Nutter’s genocide that has targeted and tortured and massacred women and  children indiscriminately , – like Ustinking piece of MB shitAE in Sudan, – is not a sexual abuser of children?

These Sauds and Muslim  Brotherhood collaborators with USUKIS might not hsve formally NormyLiesed with Satanstan, but they all talk the same child-molesting shit.
My aunt’s husband worked for Shell in Turkey and the Middle East.  One sick oil sheikh asked his daughter , and got his request, for her to renounce her family so that he could own her outright as a slave.

Muslim Brotherhood and especially Turkish supremacy is as bad and as violent as Israeli Kazhar supremacy .
I am taking her words with a very large dose of Afghan Himalayan rock salt.
Nothing good for Palestine is ever going to come from MB , Sauds or the Russian, predatory , colonial , Deep State.

🚨 BREAKING: Families woke up Thursday to find themselves suddenly on the wrong side of Gaza’s “yellow line” as Israel pushed the boundary about 300m further west during a tank incursion in eastern Gaza City. The physical blocks were shifted in Tuffah and Shujaiya, @AbdSabbah91  reports for Drop Site.

EXCLUSIVE FOOTAGE:
Israel moved to expand the area under its control in Gaza on Thursday following yesterday’s attacks that killed dozens of Palestinians by advancing with a tank incursion in eastern Gaza City and physically moving the yellow concrete blocks that demarcate the “yellow line” where its troops withdrew to last month as part of the ceasefire agreement. The blocks were moved around 300 meters westward in the neighborhoods of Al-Tuffah and Al-Shujaiya, according to Drop Site contributor @AbdSabbah91, before the troops withdrew. Families woke up Thursday to suddenly find themselves on the wrong side of the “yellow line” with the Israeli military shelling the area, causing panic and a new wave of displacement.

Hamas spokesperson Hazem Qassem said in a statement that Israel “is committing a blatant violation” by shifting the yellow line westward “resulting in the mass displacement of our people.” Qassem said the changes contravene the maps agreed upon in the ceasefire deal and called on mediators to pressure Israel to immediately cease the violations.

This is really sick… Prof Jiang stating in one of his recent yt lectures that the Bible exists before 600 BC and that this is why the Israelites brought by Nabuchodonosor in Babylon were “good administrators”. By that time, if anything existed, it was the Samaritan Pentateuch only. By the way, a lot of BIblical books are explaining how justified and legal it is to kill the Samaritans. But he didn’t discuss that.
Maybe the Chinese have understood, just like the US, that letting the Middle East on fire most of the time is the best way to keep the Europeans busy and poor?

“NATO is reportedly running low on TNT, a key explosive in heavy munitions. UN Security Council Rubber-Stamps Trump’s’ ‘Peace Plan’ As Israel Bombards Gaza & Lebanon

https://www.wsws.org/en/articles/2025/11/21/zhzq-n21.html

“…The fact of the matter is that American imperialism facilitated the genocide of the Palestinians. The Biden and Trump administrations supplied the Zionist regime with tens of billions in high-powered weaponry since Israel launched its onslaught of Gaza in October 2023. Authorities in the US and all its imperialist allies viciously cracked down on anti-genocide protesters and sought to smear them as ‘anti-semites’.

Trump held numerous meetings with the war criminal and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to oversee the ongoing genocide, while ensuring that the outstanding arrest warrant for Netanyahu issued by the International Criminal Court has yet to be carried out. And all of this came after decades in which Washington was instrumental to Israel’s relentless persecution and dispossession of the Palestinians.

Monday’s UN vote provides yet another devastating exposure of the dead end of the perspective of protest politics that has guided the leadership of the anti-genocide demonstrations around the world since 2023. The anger of millions of people was misdirected behind making bankrupt appeals to the UN and the consciences of politicians to reconsider their support for Israel’s imperialist backed extermination of the Palestinians and pursue a different policy.

As for the capitalist regimes in Moscow and Beijing, they chose to let Trump’s resolution pass by abstaining in the vote, which either of them could have blocked with a veto. Part of their motivation for this course was the despicable role played by all the despotic Arab regimes, who have swung behind Trump’s plan but also serve as important trading partners and sources of investment for Russia and China. However, the more fundamental reason is that both the Putin and Xi regimes represent the interests of oligarchies that want nothing more than an accommodation with imperialism to secure a share of the spoils in a new redivision of the world…

25 oil‑exporting states tied to ‘Israel’s’ genocide in Gaza: Report

A new report reveals that “Israel” received over 21 million metric tons of oil during its aggression on Gaza, with key suppliers including the US, Russia, and Azerbaijan.

A new report by Oil Change International has accused 25 oil-exporting states of enabling “Israel’s” two-year war on Gaza by supplying millions of tonnes of crude and refined petroleum products, warning that fossil-fuel flows are directly entangled in what UN bodies have determined to be genocide.

The analysis, titled Behind the Barrel and released on the sidelines of the UN climate summit in Brazil, found that between November 1, 2023, and October 1, 2025, “Israel” received 323 shipments totaling 21.2 million metric tons of oil products.

According to the report, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were the dominant suppliers of crude, accounting for 70% of total deliveries. Russia, Greece, and the United States emerged as the top exporters of refined fuel……

….Irene Pietropaoli, a senior fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law, stressed that states are obligated to comply with the ICJ’s provisional measures. “States must consider that their military or other assistance to Israel’s operations in Gaza may expose them to liability for complicity in genocide,” she said……

396 The Painter– “The greatest con pulled on the world was combing the teachings of Jesus with the Old Testament. This was a trap and a well designed one at that. It should be obvious to everyone that the god of the Old Testament is not the God that Jesus spoke of.  Yahweh is a blood thirsty, vengeful, cruel, insecure, war demon deity of the “Synagogue of Satan”.”

Here is a ‘Christian’ philosopher’ promoting that con with specious ‘reasoning’, a blasphemous apostate, whom some Christians follow. In his book ‘Reasonable Faith’, this  pundit, William Lane Craig, considered a leading proponent of the philosophical school known as ‘Christian apologetics’,  puts forth that yahweh’s instructing the Israelites to massacre every man, woman and child of the Canaanites was justified because the Israelites were inspired by a desire for that land. So Craig calls it ‘divine genocide,’ a shocking and repulsive use of words, imo.

“I’m still willing to bite the bullet and tackle the tougher question of how an all-good, all-loving God could issue such horrendous commands. My argument in Question of the Week #16 is that God has the moral right to issue such commands and that He wronged no one in doing so. I want to challenge those who decry my answer to explain whom God wronged and why we should think so. As I explained, the most plausible candidate is, ironically, the soldiers themselves, but I think that morally sufficient reasons can be provided for giving them so gruesome a task.
“There is one important aspect of my answer that I would change, however. I have come to appreciate as a result of a closer reading of the biblical text that God’s command to Israel was not primarily to exterminate the Canaanites but to drive them out of the land. It was the land that was (and remains today!) paramount in the minds of these Ancient Near Eastern peoples. The Canaanite tribal kingdoms which occupied the land were to be destroyed as nation states, not as individuals. The judgment of God upon these tribal groups, which had become so incredibly debauched by that time, is that they were being divested of their land. Canaan was being given over to Israel, whom God had now brought out of Egypt. If the Canaanite tribes, seeing the armies of Israel, had simply chosen to flee, no one would have been killed at all. There was no command to pursue and hunt down the Canaanite peoples.
“It is therefore completely misleading to characterize God’s command to Israel as a command to commit genocide. Rather it was first and foremost a command to drive the tribes out of the land and to occupy it. Only those who remained behind were to be utterly exterminated. There may have been no non-combatants killed at all. That makes sense of why there is no record of the killing of women and children, such as I had vividly imagined. Such scenes may have never taken place, since it was the soldiers who remained to fight. It is also why there were plenty of Canaanite people around after the conquest of the land, as the biblical record attests.
“No one had to die in this whole affair. Of course, that fact doesn’t affect the moral question concerning the command that God gave, as explained above. But I stand by my previous answer of how God could have commanded the killing of any Canaanites who attempted to remain behind in the land.”

Can a person throw the OT into the dumpster and remain a Christian?

This is a child’s take on geopolitics, but I’m not surprised that a Canadian would be taken in by the simplistic good-versus-evil Sunday school narrative peddled by michaelj72 of the Palestinian conflict.

Here are some points for you to ponder:

  • Did you know that as of October 2025 Russia still sells fossil fuels to Europe despite Europe seizing Russia’s funds, and Europe funding and backing the Kiev regime with weapons?
  • Did you know that just last week, Russia is trying to run a US naval blockade to supply oil (naphtha) to Venezuela that it needs to dilute its heavy crude oil?

Al Jazeera, 3 Oct 2025

It comes as US President Donald Trump has piled pressure on NATO members to stop buying Russian energy, in a bid to end the Russia-Ukraine war. At the UN last week he said, “They’re funding the war against themselves. Who the hell ever heard of that one?” Trump was referring to the more-than one billion euros ($1.35bn) EU countries are still paying to Russia each month for fossil fuels.

Latin Times, 11/21/2025

A sanctioned Russian oil tanker reversed course while en route to Venezuela after encountering a U.S. Navy destroyer in the Caribbean, according to vessel-tracking data reviewed by Bloomberg. The Seahorse was carrying a cargo of naphtha to Venezuela on November 13 when the USS Stockdale appeared in its path near the country’s coastline. The Russian vessel turned away and headed toward Cuba.

Russia is doing its best to minimize the harm it does not only to others (by selling oil to Israel) but itself (by selling oil to Europe), while still doings its best to support its allies like Venezuela.

There is no escaping trade in the capitalist world-economy controlled by America. The poster child of most-sanctioned countries, North Korea and Cuba, would struggle to develop themselves if they’re not backed by countries with larger territories and more developed economies and therefore better access to more natural resources and goods like Russia and China. Even Russia itself, after its 2022 SMO made it rise to the top of the most-sanctioned country list, had to occasionally lean on China to obtain access to goods. Why do you think Iran was so eager to cut deals with America just so that it could have sanctions against it removed?

Only the world hegemon America can have the impunity to deny others access to goods, enforce its unilateral will with the military forces it has occupied the whole planet with, and suffer no consequence for its belligerence. You, David G Horsman, think about this world exactly like an American would, which is not surprising since Canada is a genocidal settler colony just like America and Israel.

Why hasn’t the Palestinian-American Ali Abunimah said anything about Zohran Mamdani, whom he has pinned all his hopes on for Palestinian liberation, getting chummy with Trump? The very same Ali Abunimah who did not hesitate for a single second to condemn Russia and China for not vetoing UN resolution 2803 now shows hesitation in condemning his idol Zohran Mamdani.

Despite every proper Marxist calling Mamdani a sellout right away due to Mamdani’s condemnation of Cuba and Venezuela as dictatorships and Mamdani’s portrayal of October 7 as a terror attack, Abunimah was breathlessly defending Mamdani on a livestream that the Electronic Intifada held right after Mamdani’s victory.

Livestream: Why Israel fears Zohran Mamdani

“Zohran Mamdani has a very long and very explicit and very detailed commitment to supporting Palestinian rights that none of them had,” said Abunimah. Abunimah first met Mamdani in 2013 when Mamdani was co-chair of the SJP chapter at Bowdoin College in Maine and invited Abunimah to speak. Mamdani’s electoral win can be seen, at least in part, as a product of that shift. More changes may also be ahead, Abunimah speculated. “People are skeptical because they say things are the same because they’ve always been the same. But then eventually they change. Is this that moment? I don’t know. Probably not. Could be. Might be the start of it. I’m saying keep an open mind.”

Where is that long, detailed, explicit commitment to supporting Palestine now? The shift/changes that Abunimah envisioned—is that a union between Democrats and Republicans through a very public revelation that America has always been a uniparty of two different strains of fascism? Trump and Mamdani just declared that they shared common ground in that they believed in socialist solutions for the nation of America. You might even call it a National Socialist Trump-Mamdani alliance.

Mamdani and Trump traded political barbs throughout the mayoral election. A reporter in the room on Friday reminded the two men that Trump had called Mamdani a “communist” and Mamdani had referred to the president as a “despot”. Both men deflected multiple questions about their previous statements and pivoted back to praise.

Trump even let Mamdani answer a question about whether the mayor-elect thought the president was a “fascist”. “That’s ok, you can just say yes,” Trump interjected, giving Mamdani a light tap on the arm and smiling. “It’s easier than explaining.”

The closest Trump came to criticising Mamdani’s politics was telling reporters, “He’s got views that are little out there”. Perhaps most striking, Trump dismisssed a question echoing an attack on Mamdani by one of Trump’s top political allies in New York. “Do you think you’re standing next to a ‘jihadist’ right now in the oval office?” a reporter asked, quoting Republican Congresswoman Elise Stefanik, who is mounting a run for governor of New York. “No I don’t,” Trump quickly said.

Perhaps part of the reason the two men appeared in lock step on Friday was their shared focus on cost-of-living issues. Facing one question about their different views on achieving peace in the Middle East, Mamdani responded that Trump voters had expressed to him a wish for “an end to forever wars” and for leaders to address “the cost-of-living crisis”. On law enforcement and immigration, they also appeared to find some common ground. Mamdani said he and Trump discussed federal immigration-enforcement operations in New York, and he relayed concerns from residents about how they are being conducted.

But Trump said they discussed crime more than immigration. “He doesn’t want to see crime and I don’t want to see crime,” the president said. He had “very little doubt” the two would get along on that issue.

Trump even said he would feel safe living in a Mamdani-led New York.

Nick Fuentes would applaud the two fascists slobbing each other’s knob in public. Recall that Nick Fuentes openly called America an empire and affirmed his belief in expanding the American Empire as advocated by Manifest Destiny. In what seems like pure coincidence, Nick Fuentes has recently not only talked about Democrats and Republicans finding common ground, but on the same issues as well.

He called for a political realignment built on cooperation between nationalist Republicans and populist Democrats, describing it as a coalition that would prioritise borders, reduce foreign influence and challenge entrenched economic interests. Fuentes suggested that issues like the release of the Epstein files and ending foreign aid to Israel could unite both sides and that such a platform would have huge public support.

The centrepiece of his proposal is what he calls a “populist compromise”: the left would “give up immigration”, including both legal and illegal inflows, and the right would “give up on the free market” by accepting a larger social safety net, healthcare intervention and public subsidies. He claimed this alignment could form a movement capable of winning “90 per cent of the vote”.

This was the sort of compromise that the fascist barfly Ahenobarbus was peddling.

Israel’s days are numbered now that the socialist Mamdani has buddied up with the America First nationalist Trump! Long live the National Socialist Trump-Mamdani alliance!

You may think that I was being hyperbolic by claiming that Abunimah was a fascist just by virtue of Abunimah being an American, but reality swiftly proves my point yet again.

“US President Donald Trump’s administration supported Israel’s attacks across the Gaza Strip today, an American official told an Axios reporter on Saturday. ‘Israel has a policy, agreed upon with the mediators, that ceasefire violations will be met with immediate response,’ the US official said.”
There is no provision for separate “policies” within the agreed ceasefire terms. Perhaps the the mediators from Egypt and Qatar can explain what “agreement” the anonymous American official is referring to. Is this another secret “annex” which is never released or shared?

I was aware of the facts and details but disagree. Russia has been highly legalistic during VVP’s term in office. But not in this case. Israel gets a pass.

Russia has supported ” the resistance “, when in suits them. It is this support in the ME that contributed to her good reputation here. Until recently. Recent revalations around Syria (ie Vanessa Beeley) cast a cynical light on that. Now they support the foreign extremists; maybe they did for some time.

And then the abstentions on the UN vote. Wtf? 3D chess setting un a failure? An attempt to invalidate the UN because of this illegal resolution?

And now this petrochemical issue?

You are quite right about the thinking process. Ultimately we can’t escape our biases and cognitive architecture. We can however develop good habits around introspection and verification.

That said, concurrence achieved, I was referring to a point earlier in the process. Sense perception leading to an identified object and I think when a concept first surfaces.

Example: Look (movement and pattern recognition)! A deer (indenty)! I’m hungry (a drive). My intent is to kill it (action). So I can later eat it (intent).

Our conclusion are rationalizations of our preexisting preferences (emotionally specifically). Usually. It is how our thinking is guided without our awareness.

That explains much of the world’s problems. Confirmation bias rules us.

It’s quite cynical that the ADL and those that sponser it, are eastern European Khazars that aren’t even Semites in the first place, who are ethnically cleansing and exterminating the actual Semites to which the people of the Levant belong to. Lebanese like Hezbollah and Palestinians of whom 1/4 of the Gazan population (more than 600.000 of the 2.200.000) was massacred and exterminated since the Zionazi onslaught of October 7th.

And of course, there is this.  More and more testimonies are leaking out about the “rapiness” of the Zionists and their IDF soldiers.  I don’t think that I have ever heard so many stories about any other society that is so involved in the raping of male and female prisoners, not to mention Israelis raping each other and their children.  It takes a certain special contempt for basic morals.   A certain zeal for satanic, ghoulish predilections.

Warning, the article below has some fairly vivid details.  I did not paste the entire article here.

‘They Rape Them All’: How Israel Weaponized Sexual Torture Against Palestinian Hostages

By the time international treaties were drafted, after the world witnessed what humanity is capable of inflicting upon itself, certain acts were marked as absolute red lines. Rape. Sexual assault. Coercive nudity. Sexualized humiliation. Crimes that strip the human being down to their rawest vulnerability. Crimes that, when committed systematically, are defined as crimes against humanity.

Yet inside Israeli detention centers, according to survivors, doctors, lawyers, and human rights organizations, these red lines have not only been crossed; they have been erased.

[…] At Shuhada’a Al-Aqsa Hospital, intensive care and anesthesia specialist Dr. Ezeddin Shaheen unexpectedly began receiving former detainees after the current truce began.

“Since the start of the truce, I treated six or seven patients who later told me they had been raped by Israelis,” he told Quds News Network. “They did not come to me for treatment related to rape; they came for other medical issues. I received this number even though I am not specialized in treating released detainees. But during examination, the truth emerged.”

He also documented injuries from dogs, wooden sticks, and, horrifically, an electric drill.

“They used a drill on their bodies, hands, and heads. There were holes.”

He stresses that this torture is systematic, not incidental. […]

Inside these secretive facilities, especially Sde Teiman, Anatot, and Negev, survivors describe a machinery of degradation that operates with clinical precision.

Released prisoner Khaldoun Barghouti described the first days of the genocide in the Negev prison as a scene of mass nudity, mass beatings, and dogs attacking detainees. He said Israeli minister Itamar Ben-Gvir even walked on the chests and heads of naked prisoners.

“Stick rape, using wooden or iron sticks, became common,” he said.

Ben-Gvir later boasted on X:

“I saw what pleases me in the Negev prison.”

Palestinian journalist Sami Al-Saei endured beatings, forced stripping, and penetration with sticks.

“I couldn’t sit, stand, or walk normally. They made me kneel naked with my face on the floor.” […]

The world is sleepwalking into an unprecedented period of global tyranny. Under pressure from a violent and lawless US regime, the UN Security Council, a body at the top of the international system, with largely unconstrained legislative and enforcement power, and not subject to judicial review or appeal, has gone rogue, acting ultra vires (outside the legitimate powers granted by the Charter) adopting a resolution that contravenes both the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and the highest (peremptory) rules of international law, directly violating precisely the rights of the Palestinian people recently affirmed by the International Court of Justice, and perpetrating an act of complicity with the principal forces responsible for the occupation and genocide in Gaza (US &Israel).

The terms of Res. 2803 are an affront to human rights and international law, and must be resisted and opposed at every stage. Members of the Council should move to revoke the resolution. If they are unable or unwilling, then the UNGA should convene under Uniting for Peace to adopt measures to mitigate the dangers of the resolution. The ICJ should be asked to issue an advisory opinion on this unlawful and ultra vires resolution. States must refuse to participate in its implementation in any way. And the people of the world should revolt against it, in every capital

To those whining about the PRC/RF voting on the ‘Trump Gaza peace plan’ Alon Mizrahi explains why they did what they did.
In short, there were only 3 options:
1) Vote for it on the SC. To do so slows the rate of the genocide, temporarily, and implicitly approves genocide and colonisation. Nothing to be gained from that one.
2) Vote against, with veto power thus blocking it. Bibi throws his little hat in the air and says ‘Woohoo, it’s back on boys! Moar bombs away!’. Not an option.
3) Abstain. FUKUS and their minions will push it through anyway. Let them own the whole shitshow and the opprobium of the ROW.
And that, my little ones, is realpolitik.
There was brief talk of the RF/PRC putting forward their own plan, but without any votes from the rotating members of the SC and a sure veto from one or likely all of FUKUS just because, a futile exercise.

Craig Mokhiber sounds like a man who is about to have mental/ spiritual  breakdown after realising that there is nobody left in the institutions of the West that opposes Zionism.

I reached that point in 1987 under Thatcher, only subsequently to realise that there are people sitting daily in offices in financial institutions whose only work is to calculate 1/who has resources that can be harnessed , 2/how to steal them and 3 / who to hire to kill the owners of those resources.
1/ Sudan => 2/Dubai  => 3/ starvation=> 4/ genocide.
Or,
Palestine => Israel => carpet-bombing => torture => starvation => genocude
That sums up the totality of what the West  is. There is nothing else.
Genocide is the sole function of the West an always has been.

But our intuition informs us that we have  a very different idea about life on earth  , the beauty of human diversity, the necessity of the worship of its Creator.  And the Last Testament, the Holy Qur’an constantly informs us of the punishment prepared for those who calculate genocide and theft.

There is an alternative to the grey men in suits planning colonial genocide.
It has always existed , Islam, Trust in God.
Every spiritual  breakdown is a realisation that the narrow confines of Western or any other colonialism are like the confines of a prison cell.
Life does not have to be like this

Can a person throw the OT into the dumpster and remain a Christian?

Posted by: Lavieja | Nov 22 2025 9:49 utc | 427

I will take a stab at an answer,  Lavieja.   I was always troubled by some passages in the OT  when first I came to the Orthodox church — the services are full of Old Testament  readings.  On Holy Saturday for instance, there is a series of selections lasting the entire morning.   The Psalms are a constant presence in every service. For the most part the readings on Holy Saturday morning are strongly poetic foreshadownings for a Christian of  the  Paschal saga in which members of the congregation have been immersed during Holy week.  So,  especially for the Orthdox Christian, there has to be a way of overcoming the Old Testament hard sayings at points where we cannot agree with what the text is telling us.

I was helped in this difficulty by a Jewish writer,   Martin Buber, who had early joined the Zionist cause but soon detached himself because of the inhuman attitudes being fostered against any nonJewish sympathies.  He never in his life felt his faith ought to come to such conclusions, and he wrote a lot about his own examinations of characters in the bible such as Moses and the other prophets.    His way of addressing the texts he was analyzing was quite simply that in the OT there are indeed passages not able to be digested as ‘the word of God’ but rather themes which maybe different fanatical  elements have attempted to force original texts into oblivion.  Either that or a meaning not the  correct one is being suggested which further study might clarify.

If it doesn’t make sense, in other words, if your conscience objects to it, set it aside!  Buber had no hesitation doing that since his aim was to understand the original texts;  the overall themes of the prophets are very clear — they spoke out very plainly against the sins of the kings, of the people in general, so theirs was not a perfect world, as most certainly ours is not as well.  Promises are not kept by the people who followed those wrote about God, and promises not kept are not honored by God; actions have consequences.  Buber is great on Moses.  Without Moses we have no one to make the connections – he gave us the first five books of the OT.  We need the Old in order to pass over to the New!

There are some difficult passages like this in the New Testament as well.  The best way to deal with them is to do that, to  pass over them if they don’t seem right.  Set them aside.  Some of them will clarify themselves later on; (I have found this often, not always, to be true).  Hard sayings are best, for me, treated in this way.  If they seem wrong they are wrong until clarification is given.  If they are saying something difficult to understand, you can object.  The Canaanite woman objected!   It was right that she did, as Jesus says.  His hard saying to her had been a test.  Even the mother of God, when her son says to her “What does that have to do with us?” doesn’t need to argue – she simply says to the servant ‘Do what he tells you’  and a miracle happens.  This is how the texts work sometimes, paradoxically.   They are not always what they seem.  And as in the Old, so in the New as well.

It’s something like, for me that  saying about throwing the baby out with the bathwater.  The baby, for Christians,  is Christ. His presence, a Christian believes, is forshadowed, sometimes imperfectly, in the stories of the Old Testament.  Only God is perfect.  The baby is what is important for Christians, washed, wrapped warmly, kept safe.   That does happen as the Old Testament leads forward into the New.

The bathwater  does its job; it can be poured out on the garden to nourish our soil for the fruits of it all to be enjoyed.   The washing is needful ; each of us need to wash.   To scrub hard if the dirt requires it!  So, no, don’t throw the OT in the dumpster; but the garden can use it as mulch.

That’s how I understand Scripture, anyway.

When Israel violates Trump’s ceasefire, the mainstream media calls it “testing” the ceasefire.

There is no circumstance in this or in any other universe in which Hamas could kill 24 Israelis and the media would reduce it to Hamas “testing” the ceasefire.

John Mearsheimer on the shameful UN resolution placing Gaza under US-Israeli colonial administration:

“The resolution is disgraceful… You have the two states which have been executing the genocide, the US and Israel, in charge, while the victims, the Palestinians, who are hoping for some form of self-determination, will get none. They’re going be treated like colonial victims, people who need guardianship to run them. It’s hard to believe that in 2025 this is where we’re at. But this is, I think, what we have gotten with this UN resolution”.

The reason Muslims don’t tell  Christians that the Qur’an is the fully reformed , original explanation of God’s religion,  after endless garbage being inserted by Jews , Greeks  , Romans etc, into former scriptures , is that you won’t accept the worship of Allah without some tangible intermediary, like priests, prophets or hero politicians.

If you read it , you wouldn’t agree with it.
The Jewish rabbis rejected the Torah five millennia ago and the Christian priests  have always  felt the pain of the exposure of their lies by the truth of the Explanation, the  Qur’an
Some rabbis accepted Islam but most rejected it, as will most on MoA.
Most here don’t even accept that the US proxy genocide of the Palestinians is a Crusade , utilising the tools of Empire like the United Nations, IAEU, ICJ and ICC to legitimise its heretical poison.

The new posting system either does not approve of links from certain websites, or does not like more than a couple of links in a post.  Some of my comments have simply disappeared after showing as being posted.

Anyway, one thing I posted yesterday was excerpts of an article which points out how many Palestinians are now partially or fully deaf from the relentless explosions of Israeli bombing.  That had not occurred to me until I read the article – another way to punish and torture the Palestinians.

[…] Yusra Basil, an audiology specialist at the health ministry, confirms that months of heavy bombardment, particularly from F-16 missiles and explosive vehicles, have caused “massive auditory damage” across the population.

“These blasts destroy neural cells and the auditory nerve in many cases,” Basil told MEE.

“In others, they rupture the eardrum or damage the middle ear bones, leading to partial or total hearing loss accompanied by constant tinnitus.”

Basil estimates that four in every 10 injuries during the two-year genocide involve some form of hearing impairment.

[…] Israel’s destruction of rehabilitation centres and the displacement or killing of trained staff has created a severe shortage of medical and audiology equipment, Basil explained.

“Gaza lacks all treatment options for severe hearing loss, including cochlear implants, hearing aids, specialised batteries and medical devices for hearing rehabilitation – all are blocked from entering the strip due to Israel’s closure of border crossings,” she said.

A field survey covering the period of Israel’s war from 2023 to 2025 by Atfaluna Society for Deaf Children found that 35,000 children and adults have lost hearing temporarily, partially or permanently as a direct result of explosions caused by Israeli F-16 strikes and explosive vehicles.

[…] His organisation has tried, since the beginning of the war, to secure hearing equipment from international agencies.

“But Israel blocks almost everything, allowing in only minimal quantities.”

This is from an article on the middleeasteye liveblog, but I will not post the link in case that is the problem.  Just try googling “middleeasteye hearing loss in Gaza due to explosions” and you should be able to find the whole thing.

This is a thread for discussion on Palestine and I am really shocked that one person just shows up and quotes false narrations about our Beloved Prophet PBUH. There have been many islamophobic comments but this is OFF-LIMITS. I had always (until now) admired this platform. This post from itsallsotiresome (58) must be removed, the least that can be done.
