Esther, Esterke:

From Ancient Greek Ἐσθήρ (Esthḗr), from Biblical Hebrew אֶסְתֵּר (ʾestēr). Has been connected to Old Persian 𐎠𐎿𐎫𐎼 (a-s-t-r /star-/, “star”) (whence Middle Persian 𐭮𐭲𐭫 (stl /star/, “star”), 𐭮𐭲𐭠𐭫𐭪 (stʾlk /stārag/, “star”), Persian ستاره (sitāra / setâre, “star”)), from Proto-Indo-European *h₂stḗr (if so, a distant doublet of star); or else to Akkadian 𒀭𒈹 (Ištar, “Ishtar”) (Hebrew עִשְׁתָּר (ʿištār)).

Ishtar:

Doublet of Astarte and Ashtoreth.

Astarte (generally defined as ‘love’/war):

Can you please refrain with the racist rubbish and not respond to racist rubbish. Enough already of the white superiority mania  based in fantasy covering for  massive criminality, exploitation and inhumanity throughout the ages, including today. Anyone speaking today of the Other in categories of lower  IQ, dimness, lesser civilization and similar denigrating garbage should be, to put it mildly, ashamed and wash their mouth (brain and soul) out with soap.

You underestimate Hamas and the Plaestinian Resistance when you write –
‘Its just beginning to dawn on Hamas that the ceasefire is one lot of bollocks.’

If you follow closely you will have noticed that Hamas is reserved in its public announcements for obvious reasons, while the other Resistance groups are more vocal and explicit. The Resistance has made clear that it sees and understands what is going on and has rejected the various schemes.

Sounds like Europe is circling the wagons as it is being besieged on multiple fronts.  It does not seem to be preventing or even delaying its collapse, but it DOES give the illusion of taking action.

Hamas accepted Gaza ceasefire for ‘tactical and strategic reasons’ – says IRNA chief

Exc:

Jaberi Ansari said the fundamental flaw in Trump’s plan – as in past initiatives – lies in ignoring the two main realities of the Palestinian issue.

“First, the Palestinian people have fought for decades for their right to self-determination and basic human and political rights. These rights remain unfulfilled, and as long as that remains the case, no plan can resolve what is the oldest crisis in modern international history,” he explained.

“The second issue, often overlooked, is the nature of Israeli society itself,” he continued. Over the past two decades, he said, Israel’s demographic and political balance has shifted in favor of Mizrahi (Sephardic) Jews, who view all of historic Palestine as the ‘Holy Land of Israel’ and reject any territorial compromise.

“As a result, far-right parties that deny the very existence of a Palestinian people now dominate Israeli politics,” he said. “This transformation has marginalized groups that once supported the idea of a two-state solution, such as the Labor Party, which now holds only a handful of Knesset seats.”

“This means the ruling Israeli establishment no longer believes in ‘peace’ or a ‘two-state solution,’ and there is no genuine partner for negotiations,” he added.

He said Hamas’s conditional acceptance was rooted in its responsibility to the Palestinian people, so that it would not be perceived as responsible for the continuation of Israeli attacks. “This acceptance has tactical reasons – to avoid being blamed for occupation crimes – and strategic ones, to allow the Palestinian people to breathe after two years of siege, devastation, and famine,” he said.

Jaberi Ansari stressed that resistance would not end so long as occupation and displacement policies persist. “Resistance is not a choice, but a natural reaction to land theft and the denial of identity,” he said. “It will only end when the other side acknowledges the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination – something unlikely given the current social and political structure of the Israeli entity.”

thanks JB.
this whole analysis/summary of the Hamas position etc is very astute, concise and correct.

all those people the Mizrahi or Sephardic jews who voted for the far right parties and don’t even believe in the existence of the Palestinian people nor in any of their claims to land and self-determination, well….seems to me like there’s three choices/options here: they’ll either have to flee/emigrate back to where they or their parents/grandparents came from, meaning the USA, EU, UK, Russia, Canada, etc; or be seriously de-radicalized and re-educated and re-integrated into a new type of society/culture; or else be jailed/eliminated.

Journalist Hossam Shabat (Martyred)

– “The occupation’s violations of the ceasefire agreement:

A complete paralysis due to fuel shortages. Out of 50 trucks daily, the occupation only allowed 38 gas and 92 diesel to enter during the month, which is only 8.4%, causing paralysis of hospitals, bakeries, opening streets, removing rubble, transportation, and a complete power outage.”

– “The Government Media Office in Gaza: The Israeli side has committed 282 violations since the start of the agreement, resulting in the martyrdom of 242 citizens and the injury of 620.”

Note, latest US draft resolution for Gaza ties “Israeli” withdrawal to Hamas disarmament.

This plea will fall on deaf ears – Lebanese forces (army) wouldn’t dare fire back at IDF troops – Netanyahu’s Greater Israel dream,  will find very little resistance in South Western Lebanon. Posted by: Republicofscotland | Nov 10 2025 15:43 utc | 97

You’re being rather wild RoS. You haven’t understood how Lebanon works. The central government has no power, and the armed forces even less. Hizbullah runs south Lebanon, and successfully resisted Israel until the so-called cease-fire. I don’t see any reason why they can’t repeat the operation, in spite of Israel inching forward under the so-called cease-fire.
Evidently there’ll be some new trick for the forthcoming attack on Lebanon. Laith Marouf thinks they’ll attack through Syria, to turn the flank. He could be right. They must have used up a lot of their assets from penetration, which take years to recreate.

The IDF ground army is increasingly useless, so ant sort of determined opposition may well succeed.

Yeah, I too read CM assiduously. But you’re misunderstanding what’s being said. The Lebanese army is being paid to do nothing, they’ve always done that anyway, as they have no serious arms, and have never had. The people with the power and the arms are Hizbullah, but they were warned off trying to get into power themselves. After the civil war it was. the French said no economic aid if it’s a Hizbullah government. So Hizb remained a power in the background, but with the military power of a government.

The present initiative by the US is just foolish; you can’t order the government to be more effective, without resolving the political problem, which they’re unwilling to do.

Journalist Youssef Fares
Diplomatic sources told Al Jazeera that
Washington is distributing a revised draft resolution to Security Council members endorsing the plan to end the conflict in Gaza.
The revised draft resolution urges all parties to implement the plan to end the conflict in Gaza immediately and fully.
The draft resolution welcomes the establishment of the Peace Council and describes it as a transitional governing body to oversee the administration of Gaza.
The draft resolution calls for the full resumption of aid to Gaza in coordination with the United Nations.
The draft resolution authorizes the establishment of an international stabilization force in Gaza under unified command.
According to the draft resolution, the international force will work with Egypt and Israel on disarmament and the protection of civilians.
The draft resolution authorizes the Peace Council to establish temporary executive bodies to administer civil authority in Gaza.
The draft resolution urges the World Bank and donors to establish a fund to support the reconstruction of Gaza.
The draft resolution stipulates that Israel’s withdrawal from Gaza will be phased according to disarmament criteria.
The draft resolution stipulates a temporary security presence around the Gaza Strip until threats are neutralized.

Comment: This is a request for total occupation of Gaza  with the approval of the UN, which created the Palestine Question in the first place. Of course the UN will finish the job for the colonialists this time around. Don’t expect Russia or China to veto the “legalisation” of  the total occupation. Their business and geopolitical interests are with Israel, not the Palestinians.

This whole repugnant spectacle of a ‘peace plan’ and UN approval is beyond grotesque and perverse, as is everyone involved.

@135 JB

It would seem another US/globalist plan hosted by the UN, the last I read of was regarding Syria if I remember.

Sometimes ‘world coup’ comes to mind, other times ‘privatisation of the international assembly’ .

Whichever, it is very obviously corrupt.

Meanwhile US further endorses, celebrates, and welcomes yet another war criminal, while “Israel” starts passing legislation to allow execution of Palestinian prisoners.

Hamas also notes ‘yellow line’ is being redrawn outside of its agreed map, saying the various breaches are an attempt at ruining the ceasefire.

It all also appears as a show to sell US oversight and UN empowerment of US plans; so as to control “Israel” . In reality it is designed to fully take over whatever proposed ‘symbolic state’ ever actually recognised by the organisation.

Beyond perverse, as you say. It is like some kind of parody.

Hell’s bells, fock the Chinese even more than the worthless Russians (anyone here remember that Libya was destroyed by NATO thanks to Russia not vetoing that UN resolution in 2011, as Medvedev was a big Western ass-kisser back then) because the Chinese do like well over $22 billion a year in imports/exports to/from israel, and I don’t think/not aware that they did a single sanction against the apartheid state, just business as usual….
fock China especially in foreign relations since that capitalist-roader Deng Chao Ping! All just fine rhetoric when the Rubber meets the Road

fyi Google AI:  “China’s exports to Israel reached approximately $14.31 billion in 2024, with some sources specifying the total imports from China as $13.53 billion. This figure represents a significant increase from the previous year and reflects China’s position as Israel’s largest source of commodity imports….”

Here Berg tells an interviewer that “as a Jewish person and admirer of the state of Israel” he gets “goosebumps” of pride hearing about operations by the Israeli spy agency Mossad.

On the wall behind Berg is a framed letter sent him by Benjamin Netanyahu. He counts at least one former Mossad agent as a close friend.

The BBC strictly demands public neutrality from even lowly news staff. Gary Lineker, who was a football commentator, repeatedly got into hot water for expressing political opinions.

But Berg appears untouchable. He continues to have the full backing of BBC execs, even as he has exposed himself as a fanboy of Israel – his actual area of news responsibility.

Since the ceasefire agreement took effect on 10 October 2025, Israel has killed at least 241 Palestinians in Gaza, 117 of them children. More than 600 people have been injured.

Israel continues to hamper the entry of humanitarian aid and starve the population, denying about 75% of aid entry requests. It committed in the agreement to allow 600 aid trucks in a day, yet only 145 trucks on average have been allowed in.

The agreement did not establish an international mechanism to ensure Israel upholds its obligations under international law. Israel continues to bomb, starve and destroy Gaza unrestrained.

Most people in Gaza are homeless, hungry and lacking access to basic services, yet world leaders are standing by, issuing empty statements and enabling the normalization of this unbearable reality.

The international community must act now to ensure protection for Palestinians, the immediate entry of humanitarian aid, and accountability for those responsible for the genocide.

“The United States is planning to establish a large military base in the Gaza envelope area for use by international forces that will operate in the Strip to maintain a ceasefire. This was revealed by the “Shomrim” website citing Israeli sources exposed to the initial plans, who noted that the base could house several thousand soldiers. The budget for its establishment is expected to be around half a billion dollars, they said. In recent weeks, the Americans have been working to advance the issue with the Israeli government and IDF, and have begun examining potential locations in the Gaza envelope.” – Ynet”

“Dozens of Maccabi Haifa football fans attacked Palestinian restaurant goers with knives, sticks, and bottles; minutes after their match against Bnei Sakhnin, in the predominantly Arab town of Sakhnin, ended in a 3-3 draw.
Residents and eyewitnesses told Middle East Eye that several people were injured after Israeli fans, wearing the club’s green and black colours, stormed the Amigo restaurant late on Saturday, near Bnei Sakhnin’s Doha Stadium, shortly after the match ended.
“We were standing in the shop when suddenly they attacked us – around 80 of them,” Ayham Abu Rayya, the restaurant’s owner, told MEE.
“They started hitting [us] with sticks, knives, glass bottles, and beer bottles. It was a sudden attack. They came prepared. The police were with them – and didn’t arrest anyone.”
Ayham’s brother, who suffered a deep head wound that required 14 stitches, said the scene “looked like a battlefield”, with several people treated for cuts, bruises and fractures.”

Way way O/T.
But we all knew it was inside job.
“This year’s anniversary of 9/11 passed without mainstream mention. Almost two-and-a-half decades on, the media appears to have lost all interest in that fateful, world-changing day. This is despite the April 2023 release of a bombshell court filing by the Office of Military Commissions, which concluded at least two of the alleged hijackers were CIA assets, having been recruited “via a liaison relationship” with Saudi intelligence. The same document offers illuminating insight into how the 9/11 Commission buried this, among other inconvenient truths.
Central to the coverup was Commission chief Philip Zelikow. Commission investigator Dana Leseman, dubbed “CS-2” in the filing, told representatives of the Office of Military Commissions – the legal body overseeing the prosecution of 9/11 defendants – Zelikow consistently sought “to blunt” inquiries “into Saudi involvement with the hijackers.” Leseman was formally charged with investigating “the possible link” between Riyadh and the 9/11 attacks, but Zelikow was determined they would not succeed.
His wrecking efforts included blocking Leseman’s requests to conduct interviews with certain individuals of interest, and obtain documents that could shed light on Riyadh’s foreknowledge of, if not active participation in, 9/11 – and the CIA’s by extension. More widely, Zelikow had exclusive control over who the Commission did and did not interview, and on what topics, strictly limiting which witnesses were grilled, and the evidence heard.Leseman was fired by Zelikow in April 2003, after obtaining a classified index to the House and Senate’s joint inquiry into 9/11, “from a source other than official channels.” The index listed sensitive documents possessed by the FBI and other US government agencies, detailing “suspected Saudi involvement in the 9/11 attacks.” While “a minor security violation”, Zelikow summarily terminated Leseman and seized the index. News of her defenestration didn’t leak at the time. No other staffer was permitted to view the document thereafter.”

You may find this interesting.

“Leaked documents expose how Torchlight, a well-remunerated British state contractor staffed by military and intelligence veterans, has insidiously penetrated Lebanon’s assorted spying agencies at their highest levels. These efforts are conducted in express support of the British Embassy in Beirut’s “political access and influence objectives”. Under their auspices, British operatives and technology are implanted at the heart of the country’s security agencies, in the process training an unblinking eye on their operations, and Lebanese citizens.
One leaked file notes Torchlight staff deployed for these clandestine projects are “highly experienced former UK police investigators, intelligence officers and forensic experts,” providing specialist instruction at one of Britain’s leading spy schools, the Joint Intelligence Training Group. Furthermore, 90% of the company’s employees have high-level Whitehall security clearances, granting them “frequent and uncontrolled access” to top secret information. Torchlight itself boasts rare ‘List X’ accreditation, meaning the Ministry of Defence has entrusted the firm with storing highly sensitive, classified material on its premises.
Under the auspices of ‘Investigations Advisor and Mentor’, an endeavor ostensibly aimed at improving the investigative processes of the LAF’s Intelligence Directorate, Torchlight ostensibly teaches the unit to move away from the use of “uncorroborated confession evidence” obtained via torture to “recognition and exploitation” of CCTV footage, phone records, biometrics, forensics, and covert on- and offline surveillance. The leaks make clear this drive isn’t motivated by sincere human rights concerns, but a desire to “drive down risks” of public association with the Directorate.”

Re. colonialism, better, ‘now’ post-colonialism, as I watch the present, a more serious backlash against one aspect of neo-colonialism, say post-1955, is exploding.  Objection, in the “W” to the import of ‘cheap’ labor to replace ‘citizens’ by those very ppl. (leaving enduring ‘colonialism’ / provoking strife to break up and dominate aside, see for ex. color revolutions, etc.)

The exploitation part is for ex. 20 yr. olds who come to Europe from Syria, Nigeria, or qualified 30 yr. olds from India, who go to the US, have been brought up, fed, cherished, educated, by parents / families / the community / State, which costs them time, effort, money, to just see it vanish with the ppl leaving.

Plus, one of the reasons that in the US, GB (and elsewhere) many immigrants are afforded conditions that seem completely nuts to ppl on the ground, such as free housing, med care, whatever.  They are an investment, a ‘new’ slav(ish) labor force, an outcome of long term planning.

As Gvmts in the “W” do not represent or fight for their ppl, but have now become a front for large Private Corps (many of whom accrue subsidies from the Gvmt, aka for a large part via tax-payer) ..

Ok, so Jared Kushner is now making all the decisions about the Gaza Strip.   He is a slum-lord chisler who by rights should be rolling back odometers in Bumfuck, Arkansas.  But the world is not just.

Israeli news outlet Yedioth Ahronoth reported on Tuesday that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s meeting with the US president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, has resulted in a decision to “deport the 200 Hamas fighters trapped in the tunnels under Rafah”.

It’s unclear whether Hamas was informed of the decision via mediators Egypt and Qatar.

Kushner, who has been a close family friend of the Netanyahus since childhood, also reportedly met with Israeli-backed Palestinian militia leader Yasser Abu Shabaab during his stop at the joint US-Israeli command centre in Kiryat Gat, broadcaster Al-Arabiya said.

https://www.middleeasteye.net/live-blog/live-blog-update/kushner-netanyahu-decide-deport-hamas-fighters-report?nid=430463&topic=Israel%2527s%2520genocide%2520in%2520Gaza&fid=550157

And the US is preparing to spend $500 million for a temporary base adjacent to (not IN, as they carefully point out) Gaza.  I’ve never seen a “temporary” US base; the US hangs around everyone’s personal space like ticks on a dog once they get in somewhere.  We don’t have money for food stamps, but half a billion for a temporary base is easy.  This article says that the base will house several thousand troops, but other articles say that the US will be housing at least 10,000 troops from multiple nations.

US said planning to build major base near Gaza for international forces

The US is planning to establish a large military base in Israel near the Gaza border for use by international forces that would operate inside the Strip to maintain the ceasefire there, Ynet and Shomrim report.

The joint reports says the facility is expected to house several thousand troops, at a cost estimated at around $500 million.

A security official tells the outlets the move constitutes a significant shift for Israel, which has traditionally sought to minimize international involvement in territories under its control, and highlights Washington’s determination to take an active role in Gaza and the conflict.

Michael Milshtein, a senior researcher at Tel Aviv University’s Dayan Center and former head of Palestinian affairs in Israeli military intelligence, says the US-led Civil-Military Coordination Center (CMCC) in Kiryat Gat, where the Gaza ceasefire is being monitored, “will be responsible for most operations in Gaza, and Israel’s status as the central player in the Strip is about to change.”

Signs of this shift are already apparent at the CMCC.

Thanks normalwisdom, michael72, Ornot, repoblicsofscotland, JB ( always), Laguerre.
The question is not complicated. Who will act against the genocide? Respect the UN laws, which they all claim to uphold.
It seems noone, including the socalled BRICS alternative. Russia has outed itself as just another bitch.
The red light should be ‘Pollycentric’, thus they just want to divide the world of ours into the interested zones, obviously RF has agreed with faltering USA to split Middle East, and Euurope. This probably began even before silly Trump was elected, thus the treason of Syrya.
Russians want to be with Usains, to share in the spoils. The treason of resistance and Syrya, It is perfectly clear.
They are working toghether

The scam isn’t hidden. It’s wrapped in a flag and a press conference. The War on Terror was never about ending terror. It was about institutionalizing it, turning jihad into a renewable resource that could be mined, refined, and sold to voters every election cycle.

 Exhibit A:
The Incubation Receipts Operation Cyclone (1979-1989) poured between three and eight billion dollars from the CIA, ISI, and Saudi Arabia to arm, train, and radicalise the Afghan mujahideen, the same network that became al-Qaeda.
The CIA’s own Red Cell memo (2004) said, “Abu Ghraib is al-Qaeda’s most effective recruitment tool.” Torture was not a mistake. It was a factory setting.
The Pentagon’s Phoenix Memo (2001) warned about Arabs in US flight schools, but headquarters buried it. The threat was allowed to mature.

 Exhibit B: The Business Model
The post-9/11 Authorization for Use of Military Force was a single paragraph that became a blank cheque for wars in 85 countries, a 21-trillion-dollar debt, and zero successful nation-building. Defense stocks like Lockheed, Raytheon, and General Dynamics tripled their market cap after 2001.
War is the only sector where failure earns a bonus. Generals retire, join the board at Raytheon, and lobby for more bombs, the same bombs they once ordered in uniform.

Exhibit C: The Export Loop
Libya in 2011 saw NATO bomb Qaddafi and arm “moderates.” The weapons flowed south. French troops returned to guard Areva’s uranium mines in Niger.
Syria from 2012 onward was a rerun. The CIA trained “vetted rebels,” weapons ended up with al-Nusra and ISIS, and the US bombed the same weapons it supplied. The cycle repeated.
In the Sahel from 2023 to 2025, the French-UAE coalition fought jihadists it had armed. The region stayed on permanent low-boil so resources could flow out and weapons flow in.

Exhibit D: The Domestic Harvest
The Patriot Act legalised mass surveillance of Americans. The terror threat became a tool to build the panopticon. TSA, DHS, and Fusion Centers turned into billion-dollar jobs programs for contractors selling scanners that don’t detect bombs.
An entire Islamophobia industry grew around think tanks, cable networks, and politicians monetising fear. Every terror alert became a ratings spike.
Bottom line The War on Terror is not a failed war. It is a perfectly successful business. Produce the enemy, sell the solution, repeat.

They never defended Asad, just cared about their bases in Tartus, Latakia.

⭕️ NEW: Gaza Faces Partition Risk — Reuters

There are growing fears of a de facto partition of Gaza as Trump’s ceasefire plan falters, the news agency reported on Tuesday. Six European officials reportedly told the outlet that reconstruction appears likely to be confined to the Israel-controlled zone, which covers 58% of the territory, including Rafah, Gaza City, and much of Gaza’s farmland — even as nearly all the remaining 2 million Palestinians are trapped in tent camps in the rubble of areas still under Hamas security control.

The diplomats said the stalled U.S. plan lacks timelines or enforcement and risks hardening the “yellow line” into a permanent border dividing Gaza.

ps stranger@170: Nope, but thanks for posting. Here’s a new interview Rachel Blevins did with Vanessa Beeley on Trump’s meeting with the ex AQ/ISIS proxy head-chopper, now the President of Syria.

@163 Noirette

The objection, as on many political topics, is enmeshed in a wider sociopolitical fabric that is often contradictory. For example, objection is quite common from the further right on ‘traditional society’ grounds (not racism per se), and yet political elements representing further right are largely nowadays more hawkish and MIC orientated (i.e. are part responsible for causing migration waves).

Equally, those on the liberal left, although tending towards promoting human or local rights, have incorporated open borders and common subsidy view that both facilitates migrations as well as obviating traditional barriers to involvement in local economy and social realities in other countries (often being used for or leading to overthrow, attempted westernisation, and other forms of imposed patronisation).

So in western society we have these conflicting realities, ground level ideals vs political manipulation, being used to divide society. It is rare to see an objective inclusive discussion or debate that moves beyond whatever sensational reality of the moment it is initiated by. Obviously most main media presentation has its particular agenda that is not interested in addressing these topics seriously, but instead aims to confuse or cause polarity.

Similar divides at profit from migration exist in society also. From politically active liberal looking to undermine opponent ‘entrenched’ hierarchy through to a part of more traditional society being in a relatively privileged position (i.e. they are not the one’s who are going to now have to do the work, even if they have worked hard previously and believe locals should carry that ethic).

Those I sympathise with most are the younger middle/lower ‘class’ who do not find a viable direction no matter how much effort they make, where they are competing only to reach the level of migrant workers, or foreign manpower in countries where related costs are a fraction of in the west (due to government involvement in economy and prices in the west).

So there are many divides and society in western nations cannot form a valid political reply due to its contradictions.

I agree that modern migration levels as a whole cost the countries/society from which migrants originate. It is a very mixed reality. It is hard to say how any country would be without this reality also. For example, a single migrants might support an extended family with their foreign minimum wage, so how it is that a country is not self sufficient enough to provide that opportunity to locals is worth looking at, the reasoning would be complex (and usually includes foreign involvements). That is not even counting foreign sponsored wars that cause migration.

For skilled migration, that varies also. There is a trend to foreign education which results in some permanent migration also, but the exchange is probably more positive. On the other hand, purposefully emptying other countries of skilled workers is also a reality that occurs, and it is not just by offering competitive opportunity, but instead uses various underhand (i.e. at public expense) methods to secure workers.

One thing I will disagree with though is :

“Plus, one of the reasons that in the US, GB (and elsewhere) many immigrants are afforded conditions that seem completely nuts to ppl on the ground, such as free housing, med care, whatever. They are an investment, a ‘new’ slav(ish) labor force, an outcome of long term planning.”

I have read very detailed studies on cost, and future redemption of costs, based on decades of real data, and this does not add up (and I don’t have links to those, apology). Again, here we are met with the contradictions that divide western nations.

For example, ‘common society’ in the west has aimed to climb the (partly imposed) ladder of social standing. I don’t mean becoming posh or rich, but of attaining higher skills (education) and position (white collar vs blue) . Wealth does go with that (often inversely in fact, due to exploitation of the ambition, i.e. student debt). Many therefore shun more mundane work, which now often does not pay at all anyway (especially in comparison to earlier economy) due to both migrant and foreign competition. What is anyone to make of being in such a circumstance ?

Also, a certain part of western society is now asset rich, meaning that their wealth is boosted by competition (say over housing from migration), and yet they still think to be holders of traditional values, a successful evolution of western achievement, and that others of their own should now go out and do the hard work , while never realising that a large portion of their own wealth has been and still is, subsidised by foreign effort and contribution.

These are circles that don’t square, and those that manage and profit from this reality have no intention of resolving the differences, instead the direction is to transform the whole over time into a different (global) paradigm, which of course they would command and profit from.

So it is long term planning, but the slavish labour force includes much of western society also. It is not meant to be back to workhouses either, it is to place ownership (hence authority) in the hands of a few. Via dependency on government subsidy, via endebtedness, via disruption of independent local society, via destructuring of local identity, via corruption of individual moral and ethic.

When you think this is managed across continents, that large wars, decades long media saturation, occur to tailor these realities, then you might understand the kind of organisation you are dealing with.

It is anything but stupid or incompetent.

In reality, a large part of the west considers it progress, modernity, and achievement, without ever bothering to question why they are offered such an inflated self opinion to wear.

What is occuring in Palestine is so symbolic of how these different realities coincide albeit also at different and more severe levels, that I thought it fair to reply here.

You started me writing on all of this Noirette … if you reply to this it is fine but not to expect me to write more …

Jewlani’s genocides were political crimes against the supporters of the previous,  Western-colonial  administration.
They were committed mostly by non-Syrian jihadists trained not by the usual suspects , but imported en masse from ? Uighurs ? China? Russian Federation ?

This would appear to be a Trump-Putin, Satanic  pact for Russia to export its unwanted Islamists to the Zionist, Greater Israel, while Islamist Jewlani exports his non-Islamists to Islamist-Zionist Hell.
Those Global manoeuvres have nothing to do with us in Europe  because we are now UK slaves of USRUSIS. We are no longer relevant to the decisions of USRUSIS  . We are a small country, without an empire .
Our approval or non-approval of the new USRUSIS hegemony is irrelevant. Syria being  subsumed  by USRUSIS however is possibly relevant to b.’s latest post on Britain’s approach to Ukraine. USUKIS  changing to USRUSIS means we are outnumbered one million to one.
We are but a ‘Spot of Bother’ on USRUSIS ‘ Pan-Asian , North-West Frontier.
Now that , through Israel’s genocide of Palestine / Sham , USRUSIS controls all of Asia, will both Britain and Israel be punished or spared? Should we be spared?

In which chapter of International Law does it say that active particpation in a genocide , hoping to get some Empire2 crumbs from the Victors of the War on Terror, USRUSIS, is a mere peccadillo?
Our British government has been,  since Thatcher , not only stupid for assisting war criminal Israel, but criminally assisting genocide against Sham/ Palestine. We’re not even going to get Probation. Maybe we will be ignominiously ignored by USRUSIS.
And just our stupid politicians sent to Gulag.

see the photo at the first/second link. Trump with the terrorist head-chopper Jolani in the Oval Office. there are no words which describe my disdain for both of these fokcing terrorists, or with anyone inviting this super-terrorist to the white house.  Greenwald’s take on this is tame compared to the real horror and significance of the US-centralized Empire overthrowing the legit Syrian gov’t, and installing al-qaeda/isis in its place, with all the attendant massacres of minorities, many tens of 1000s of people slaughtered in Syria

The US fought the “war on terror” for more than 20 years — it’s ongoing. It not only cost trillions of dollars and more than a million lives, but radically and permanently eroded core civil liberties for Americans.

Now, someone the DOJ called an Al Qaeda terrorist less than a year ago is welcomed to the WH.

No word is more meaningless and manipulated than “terrorist.” It means nothing, yet is at the center of our discourse, and shapes the most potent government powers and laws. Its lack of a fixed meaning is what makes it so useful, and so dangerous.

Leaked: How British Intel Infiltrates Lebanon
Posted by: Republicofscotland | Nov 11 2025 16:26 utc | 161

I’m sure you’re right that British Intel is infiltrating Lebanon. The Yanks are putting in a big effort too, as indicated by the bullying of the US envoy Barrack. What is in question is how successful it is. The Klarenburg article you link to has its main theme, the opposite of what you are suggesting – his line is scepticism about its success.

I’d be very surprised if the Americans, and in consequence the Brits, bothered to understand how Lebanon works. But they’re just trying to oblige the government to impose itself by force – an anti-democratic government which is only there because of the bizarre constitution, and a voluntary agreement by Hizbullah to withdraw from participation. If a democratic election were held, Hizbullah would be the government. It is difficult for the US and UK to get round that basic fact.

Ornot thx for yr response, I copied it 🙂

The essence from yr post.

So in western society we have these conflicting realities, ground level ideals vs political manipulation, being used to divide society.

As for what you posted in response to my post (import of cheap labor):

I have read very detailed studies on cost, and future redemption of costs, based on decades of real data, and this does not add up (and I don’t have links to those, apology). Again, here we are met with the contradictions that divide western nations.
Imho yes, I don’t have nos. either (I am looking at UKR refugees in CH on *another* matter, very interesting), yet as a common belief it deserves attention?  Maybe we could sum up that worker migration movements, serves Big Corps, Corrupt Pols, and more?  (Of course that is non-specific.)

In reality, a large part of the west considers it progress, modernity, and achievement, without ever bothering to question why they are offered such an inflated self opinion to wear..

That self-opinion is set to take very hard knocks.

The bottom line is – the Zio-Monsters need to be stopped one way or another.

“Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa to WaPo: ‘Israel has conducted over 1,000 airstrikes in Syria since Dec. 8, and that included bombing the Presidential Palace and the Ministry of Defense. But because we want to rebuild Syria, we didn’t respond to these aggressions. The advances that Israel made into Syria are not coming from [their] security concerns but are coming from their expansionist ambitions.'”

Laguerre (189).

You’ve answered your own question Lebanon is captured by the West – its as simple as that, they’ll be NO democratic elections in Lebanon.

“The Parliament has just voted and elected General Joseph Aoun.
“This comes at the end of a remarkable period of transformation in the Middle East: a period in which the United StatesIsrael and Saudi Arabia are plainly the winners.
“Aoun was openly the US man, somebody they were trying to push into the position. The US special envoy Amos Hochstein Israeli Defence Forces veteran has been here the last few days canvassing for Aoun, and canvassing with politicians telling them to vote for Aoun.
“And it’s not only the Americans. In there today in a parliamentary meeting there was a special envoy of President MacronFrance being the former colonial power. The French were openly promoting General Aoun.
“And so were the Saudis who also had a special envoy in there today, and Mohammed bin Salman has been advocating for Aoun.
“And you’ll not be surprised to hear that the new puppet-ruler of neighbouring Syria Al Jolani, himself a puppet of Saudi ArabiaUnited StatesIsrael and Turkey was saying he wished to see Aoun installed here.
“So this is transformational. There are now American-sponsored presidents in power in Syria and in Lebanon, and it’s transformational for the Middle East.
“The victor in all of this is of course Israel, not only concluding its genocide in Gaza. It is still in occupation of southern Lebanon, and it is now in occupation of large tracts of Syria.
“So bad news for the Palestinians, major advance – quite a triumph really for the Biden administration in its last throes.
“The United States is now in a much more powerful position in the Middle East than it has been for many years.”
