There is no ceasefire in Gaza which is being partitioned, what is left standing is being systematically demolished while the attacks, killing, arrests and theft of land in the West Bank continue. The Israeli soldiers who gang-raped a Palestinian detainee at the Sde Teiman torture center held a press conference boasting that they are still free. They proudly declared: “We will prevail!” 
 
As for the Israeli army’s military prosecutor who dared to investigate their case — an investigation that led nowhere due to pressure from the Chief of Staff, the Defense Minister, and Netanyahu — she allegedly leaked the videos of the rape to the media. She has now been placed under detention on charges of obstructing the investigation after attempting suicide yesterday during the rapists’ press conference. She was dismissed from her position, defamed publicly, and is currently under investigation.

The model for the above is the UN force in Haiti, which intervention is largely unreported and under the radar. Whatever happens in Gaza will not be similarly under-reported, and so willingness to sign up for such a mission will be lacking. 
 
Expected “:round two” of Israel vs Iran seems not to be on for this autumn. Israeli officials recognize a shitstorm of criticism awaits as images and reporting from the destroyed Gaza territory increases. People in tents living atop rubble while food and supplies are choked at border crossings – it is never a good look and insistence that this has been an operation against “terrorism” will not stick against informed global opinion. 
The proposed ISF will likely struggle to find any takers, just as the previous call for nations to accept displaced Palestinians went nowhere.  (There were attempts to insert NATO troops in southern Lebanon in 2007, and then again in Syria in 2014, but this time it is a non-starter due to the overt support for Israel’s genocidal conduct.)

I was reading that various countries were reticent to continue with the idea of commiting troops to a stabilisation/peace force in Gaza due to uncertainty of objectives. Where they would commit troops as observers and to support order under a Palestine civil authority, they said that disarming of Hamas and working under outside authority would jeopardise their status and neutrality, as well as their ability to help establish or maintain order. The statements clearly notion the direction the ISF is taking.

Meanwhile ISF says it now has forty countries partnered in its endeavours, a majority of which are probably no more than political or financial support. Related:
