Isn’t Witkoff, Egypt, Qatar blah blah , the same  guys as last “ceasefire agreement “??

Trump wanted his Coronation un-muddied, so it was signed 1/15….
By 2/10… Israel had violated the agreement so often Hamas quit releasing any more POWs.
By 2/11… Nuttyahoo ordered full on bombing again.

Trump wants to meet Peace Prize deadline, so obviously tomorrow, all will sign something.

Hopefully some Gazans will get food for a couple days…

I am a rabbid anti-Zionist. But …Is anyone here yet willing to concede that Hamas has suffered a political, strategic, operational, tactical, on-ground loss against the evil Israel? It takes only a child’s assessment to see that their bold Oct 7th 2024 incursion has failed in every possible way.

They have been indirectly responsible for the destruction of nearly all their own country.

They have been directly responsible for the death of untold innocent civilians by unarguably waging guerilla warfare in residential areas.

They have already surrendered most of their hostages. And what did they get for that over time? Nothing.

90% of their political leadership has been assassinated and who knows how many of their military commanders.

They have inadvertently made a hero of Netanyahu in Israeli politics who promised he would wipe out Hamas, which is nearly achieved. Sure, he’s a global pariah. But he doesn’t care, nor does the Knesset, nor does the majority of worldwide Jewry. T’was ever thus.

They never secured one jot of Arab or Muslim military support for their cause, despite all the PC words about a genocide they’ve spouted.

They nearly dragged Lebanon into a full on war with Israel. Luckily Hezbollah saw no good outcome could come from that. So they laid low. They have NOT brought “the destruction of the State of Israel”, as their bravado promised.

They even have the PLO and Russia now backing a US-brokered peace plan which will scrub Hamas from future governance of Gaza or anywhere.

They have not (yet) arranged even a mute “2 state solution” with their enemy. The PLO is far more likely to attain that next decade.

In short, a total and unmitigated loss for Hamas AND the Palestinian people. Can’t everyone see this was writ large 12 months ago despite the hopeful fantasies of so many on MoA proclaiming “brave Hamas will destroy Israel”. Nah, they were fkn deluded idiots. Unsupported Hamas vs Israel plus the US. What could possibly go wrong? The facts are now self-evident.

And don’t call me a fkn hasbara. Because I’m not. Just an objective observer who truly wishes it was all otherwise.

If a permanent ceasefire actually happens and actually holds without mass expulsions and further Palestinian subjugation, the only explanation I can think of is that the US and Israel crunched the numbers and determined that the PR crisis from the genocide makes it unsustainable.

So Israel committed a genocide to finish Hamas and free the hostages, only to become the most hated state in the world, and now sit at the same table with Hamas to negotiate the release of hostages, many of whom Israel itself killed in its strikes. Sounds like winning to me

IMO,  the “hostages” were a talking point, but not a pretext.

The narrative for decades is that “Hamas” is a terrorist organization looking for the destruction of USReal and all Jews everywhere in the globe.

So they are defending themselves…

The pretext is “defense”… always and forever defending themselves “preemptively” against all inside USReal and all other ME nations they choose.

@307 Trubind

That as well, but can they justify losing troops who aren’t ‘out to rescue compatriots’ ?

The actual main point now appears to be ‘who rules Palestine’, i.e. whether the attempt to eliminate Hamas continues.

Equally they need troops elsewhere, cannot secure backing needed for full take-over, have settled at claiming west-bank and dumping reparations on UN or Arabs…etc. Hydrocarbon deposits, Ukraine (…where is Russia in this ?) , a whole lot more…not possible to guess.

Will post another reply to michaelj I didn’t post before, just adds more questions….

I don’t know.

🚨 Breaking: Italy’s Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, along with Defence Minister Guido Crosetto, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani, and Leonardo CEO Roberto Cingolani, have been named in a complaint to the International Criminal Court for complicity in Israel’s genocide on Gaza.

The case — filed by international legal and human-rights organizations — accuses the Meloni government of aiding Israel’s assault through arms sales, political alliances, and diplomatic cover despite overwhelming evidence of war crimes.

Italy’s Leonardo weapons company has supplied key parts for Israeli warplanes and surveillance systems, while Meloni’s administration continues to back Israel even as Gaza faces mass starvation and bombardment.

Meloni has dismissed the ICC referral as “politically motivated.” But rights groups say this is part of a growing global effort to hold Western leaders accountable — not just for their silence, but for their active participation in a genocide.

@281 michaelj

Europe (basically courtesy EU) is bad enough with regard to spending on unproductive features, with gov. spending to gdp a few notches higher than the US also. How USians accept funding “Israel” to such a degree for such destructive endeavour just defies me though. Come legal reparations and you know where the money would come from also… short of being handed Gaza in return i.e. current plan and Arab states, or straight annexation.

These people are all on the hook, meaning their negotiation is not driven by traditional politics so much as loss of standing and financial failure. So actions due to those incentives are very unpredictable.

UN reconstruction project also just asked for 52 bn to make Gaza habitable again…which US/”Israel” I guess would not pay until dragged before court by r.o.w. which is not on any near horizon: But it could be found presented with the bill.

All of this sets the stage or is backdrop to future rearrangement of balance of power in the world, the result of which is not a given either.

Looking at the EU funding going on 1 tr in arms makes under 100 bn total look small however, similar US military spending…it is hard to gain a normal perspective on these realities, but that populations don’t bother to equate these levels of spending to their own circumstance says something very important… apathy, disempowerment, futility, submission, stupidity, greed…not really sure, but there is such a major disconnect at so many levels that people should be getting just a little nervous about it all… few seem to though…maybe just too busy staying out of the way to bother more…

In my opinion, and according to the players on both sides of the battlefield, two major objectives can be identified:On the one hand, beyond the usurpations and plunder, the sadism and lies, one side fervently desired that everyone, absolutely everyone on the other side, die as slaves. On the other hand, regardless of age or gender, the unwavering desire was to live freely in their own land (something they have not been allowed to do for many, many years) or, failing that, to die free, either fighting or resisting, to the point of starvation, the immense broom that sought to sweep them into nothingness, into oblivion, into the non-place of a fabricated and falsified history. For every person who remains alive, in their territory, even if they die today, victory is infinite and eternal, and happiness accompanies the unspeakable horror of tragedy.

Hamas Announces Reaching Deal Based on Trump’s Proposal Aimed At Ending US-Backed Israeli Genocide

https://www.presstv.ir/Detail/2025/10/08/756553/Hamas-announces-deal-Israel-war-Trump-genocide-Gaza

“…Despite responding to the proposal, the group has sternly cautioned about the potential of the regime reneging on what has been agreed upon, citing Tel Aviv’s betrayal of similar arrangements in 2023 and January this year.

It has also asserted that implementation of any agreement entails meeting its relevant requirements. Similarly, the movement warned as part of its announcement of the deal that Tel Aviv had to be ‘compelled’ to fully implement the requirements of the agreement.

At the same time, Gaza’s Government Media Office urged Gazans to exercise ‘utmost caution and care’ and not to feel completely reassured about whether the areas they sought to move to following announcement of the agreement were safe.

Izzat al-Rishq, member of Hamas’ Political Bureau, called the deal the fruit of the great sacrifices of the Palestinian people and the strength of the resistance…”

Omg, so simpleminded, such fantasy delusion. Do you not see it takes TWO SIDES to talk “ceasefire agreement”. Do you seriously think that Hamas has brought Israel to surrender to a ceasefire. Lmao.
And why do you think Hamas would agree to a ceasefire? Answer: because basically they’ve had enough, NOT because they’ve achieved their goals. Lmao.
Imo, Israel has pretty well achieved its goals of extinguishing Hamas and humiliated the Palestinian people into the stone age, and figures that an offer of ceasefire, including a Hamas dissolution in the terms, is a “near enough” good end to their operation. Jeezuz, wake up.
And remember its not really a peace deal. It’s only a ceasefire. Await the next chapter.

Objectively, blaming the victim is exactly what you’re doing.

Israeli had THOUSANDS of Palestinians locked up before Oct 7, including women and children.

Hamas’ goal was extremely narrow in scope, only trying to get some hostages for leverage to secure the release of their families.

Israel saw Hamas was planning an attack, intentionally let them through, then killed a whole lot of their own citizens and concocted fake atrocity propaganda to blame Hamas.

Israel then took that as justification to commit mass genocide and grab a whole lot of Palestinian land. This was always their plan.

If not on Oct 7, Israel would’ve provoked some other minor attack to proceed with their plan. If Hamas didn’t do anything, Israel would just proceed with the systematic land grab without resistance.

In the end, this is another European colonalisation project.

It’s absurd to pretend it’s the natives’ fault for defending their homeland from occupation, or somehow it could’ve been avoided if they simply did not resist.

I accept 100% that the resistance against occupation is 100% justified, including violent resistance against the state apparatus of the Occupiers.

Putting aside what Israel has now done in response …. which surely warrants a Nuremberg level response followed by either 100s of hangings and/or firing squads of Israeli Govt Leaders, Officials and Military personnel as a given ….

During the year prior to Oct 7, what did Hamas do or say about “the THOUSANDS of Palestinians locked up before Oct 7, including women and children.”?

What did the PA do or say about them?

What did the combined Axis of Resistance do or say using their own political power, communication connections, and outreach to the world and to through  the UN and Media outlets or social media platforms or via Diplomatic channels?

What did the Arab nations, and Muslim nations do to communicate to the world at large via the UN or Media Diplomatic channels about the “illegality” etc of “the THOUSANDS of Palestinians locked up before Oct 7, including women and children.”?

I do not have a photographic memory and recall hearing nothing via the MSM nor the alternative media in the year leading up to Oct 7 about the many and real complaints Hamas and the PA had against Israel’s aggression and long term criminal behaviour against the,.

Where was South Africa and the other nations application ot the ICJ for deciding the question of Israeli Genocide and War crimes and apartheid actions against the Palestinian People across all the Occupied Territories before Oct 7?

I can’t remember, do you?

Lastly, if it was made known via media sources that Israel had invaded Gaza without warning, killed 1200 innocent civilians and taken over 250 prisoners as Hostages removing them to Tel Aviv or whatever …. would the global community of nations have supported that action? What would Russia, China, and India and the EU have said about that?

Or would they have condemned it is abhorrent, unjustified and a war crime or perhaps define it as a terrorist act? Apart from the UK and USA and a handful of pacific nations that is.

repost:

IDF General

On August 20, Reserve General Yitzhak Brik, wrote an article in the Haaretz newspaper, stating the following:

• “Failure to follow orders, lack of oversight, and an inability to learn from mistakes remain common. Investigations lack credibility, and there is a culture of lies, low standards, and unprofessionalism. There is no operational discipline, and the high command fails to take responsibility. A conspiracy of silence prevails, along with a fear of expressing a different opinion for fear of personal harm. This outrageous behavior is deeply rooted in the DNA of the Israel Defense Forces.”

• “A total loss of trust on the part of combat soldiers and junior commanders in the IDF high command. This is reflected, among other things, in an extremely high percentage of reservists unwilling to serve and double-digit percentages of conscripts “fleeing” the war due to serious mental health problems, exhaustion, and lack of trust in their commanders. The ground army is crumbling in every way.”

• “Loss of professionalism due to a lack of education and training.”

• “A desperate shortage of professionals to maintain armored vehicles and weapons as a result of the elimination of thousands of professional non-commissioned officer and officer positions and the transfer of maintenance to civilian companies incapable of carrying out the task.”

• “A severe shortage of conscripts in the standing army as a result of thousands of war casualties and the inability to recruit others to replace them.”

• “A desperate shortage of reservists, who are voting with their feet and simply not responding to mobilization orders.”

• “Privatization of logistics through outsourcing to civilian companies that cannot meet the needs of a war.”

• “A severe personnel crisis in the reserve, conscription, and career service, one of the worst in the history of the IDF. The best career soldiers are leaving en masse, and young people are reluctant to enlist due to their deep disappointment with what has happened in recent years. It is a tragedy that the IDF is losing all its quality personnel at a dizzying rate; the consequences are disastrous.”

Thought you were supposedly anti-zionist? Ha your hasbara roots are showing.

You take their land, they fight back. You kidnap their family, they kidnap your family. You decide to genocide the whole population for the actions of a few, of course the world would be outraged. The cause and effect is quite clear. It’s not the Palestinian side but the Israeli side that’s constantly pretending nothing happened before Oct 7 and acting like this was some sort of unprovoked attack.

Even if Hamas didn’t achieve their goals, Israel’s soft power has been completely destroyed by this war.

People will remember what they did.

Ultimately Israel is a population of 9 million surrounded by 150 million Muslims.

When WW3 starts and the west are occupied with Russia and China, I would not be surprised if the surrounding Muslims attacked Israel or lopped a nuke their way. After all Israel is nothing without western support.

The Likud has destroyed Israel…..

(Excerpt) Now Israel is dying. As horrific as the genocide in Gaza has been, there’s a danger that a desperate Benjamin Netanyahu and his far-right allies will kill Palestinians faster — and that they might even carry out Israel’s long-threatened “Samson option,” using its illicit nuclear arsenal as massive retaliation against its Arab neighbors if the Jewish state faces existential destruction.

Like Idi Amin, who assured his remaining staff that he was “still going strong” shortly before left Uganda for exile, Israel is ranting that it’s winning on all fronts. Ignoring the fact that he was speaking to a mostly empty United Nations meeting hall, Bibi bombastically declared victory against his Middle East neighbors. His government, still backed by Donald Trump and few others of note — even in the U.S., most Americans say Israel is dead to them — is flogging a take-it-or-leave-it demand for Hamas to unconditionally surrender, lay down its weapons, and agree that Palestine will never be free or sovereign. Perhaps, the Israelis hope, no one will notice that they have already been destroyed.

The visuals make it appear as though has won Israel, and won big. Gaza has been flattened; tens of thousands of Gazans have been murdered. Sixty percent of the West Bank has been stolen by 700,000 violent Jewish colonists; 850 IDF checkpoints have reduced the other 40% to an open-air concentration camp. But the visuals aren’t determinative.

What has decided this final iteration of the Israel-Palestinian conflict is international public opinion, a commodity upon which Israel is uniquely dependent. Israel was created by the U.N. It is the biggest recipient of military funding from the U.S., including advanced technology and defense systems which constitute a significant portion of Israel’s defense budget. The U.S. routinely vetoes attempts to hold Israel accountable in the Security Council. The U.S. is Israel’s biggest trading partner. Israel relies on access to U.S. markets for exports like technology and pharmaceuticals.

Israel, more reliant on international goodwill than another nation, has become a pariah state. U.N. agencies call the Gaza war a genocide. Amnesty International and the U.N. classify Israel as an apartheid state. Arrest warrants have been issued for and sanctions issued against Israeli leaders. Major cultural and sports institutions are boycotting Israel. The European Union labels goods and services produced by West Bank settlers so consumers can avoid them, and is moving toward cutting off trade. Israeli tourists are harassed when they travel abroad…….

The joy of Palestinians in Gaza at any halt to the barbaric slaughter by the genocidal oppressor that this deal may ensure will be the joy of people everywhere. We know however that this evil entity and its American and European sponsors can’t be trusted.

Even if this “first phase” deal is implemented, the task for people around the world is not to question and second guess, but to keep protesting, advocating, educating, boycotting and building pressure to end the complicity which enables “Israel” to continue its crimes, to bring the genocidal criminals to justice and to end once and for all the evil genocidal system of Zionist settler-colonial apartheid and terror — in every part of Palestine and wherever else it has influence around the world.

“Imposing an immediate peace at any price, regardless of or brazenly against law and justice, is a recipe for further injustice, future violence and instability,” UN experts said.
Any peace plan must respect international law beginning with self-determination and accountability, urge UN experts
UN experts* expressed hope for a permanent ceasefire in Gaza but warned that any peace plan must absolutely safeguard the human rights of Palestinians, and not create further conditions of oppression.
Just a few points usually not mentioned:

  • The demilitarisation of Gaza has no end date and, if permanent, could leave it vulnerable to Israeli aggression. Nothing is said regarding the demilitarisation of Israel, which has committed international crimes against the Palestinians and threatened peace and security in the region through aggression against other countries.

  • Deradicalisation is imposed on Gaza only, while anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab sentiments, radicalisation and public incitement to genocide have been hallmarks of dominant rhetoric in Israel over the past two years.

  • An “economic development plan” and “special economic zone” could result in illegal foreign exploitation of resources without Palestinian consent.

  • There is no duty on Israel and those who have sustained its illegal attacks in Gaza to compensate Palestinians for illegal war damage.

Trump’s plan for Gaza rewards Israel and punishes its victims, by Jospeh Massad
Subheading: Two years on, complicit governments back a US plan to safeguard Jewish supremacy and mute global outrage, while Israel revives Nazi torture methods to force Palestinian surrender
Exc:
Evidently, this international consensus on supporting, or at least accepting, Israel’s right to be and remain a Jewish supremacist state agrees that Israel’s genocide of the Palestinians is not only justified as a means of safeguarding Israel’s Jewish supremacy but also deserves to be rewarded.
Unsurprisingly, it is the victims of genocide who must surrender their few weapons, while the war criminals slaughtering them must continue to be armed to the teeth by the US and Europe – with the notable recent exception of Spain.

The recent Trump plan, which continues the US tradition of denying the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination, is engineered to undo the uninterrupted global condemnation of Israel’s genocide in Gaza.

His aim is to quash the growing public furor in the US and Western Europe over their governments’ complicity in the genocide by rewarding Israel and lining up the US’s Arab client regimes to do the same.
Rather than join his (Gustavo Petro, JB) proposed army of liberation, the Arab client regimes, including the PA, are lining up behind the Trump plan to deepen the suffering of the Palestinians.
That the same European and Arab countries, which have abetted Israel’s campaign recently, recognised a phantom Palestinian state, demonstrates that their gesture is an act of support for Israel and its right to be and remain a Jewish supremacist state.
It is also, as I have written here, recognition of the unelected, collaborator PA and its role in repressing Palestinians. Their endorsement of Trump’s plan simply adds yet another band of billionaires – the so-called “Gaza International Transitional Authority” – to preside over future Israeli and PA brutality and the destruction of what remains of Palestinian life and livelihood.

Get ready for yet unseen Trump triumphalism, Western accolades and self- praise with cheers by the rest of the this thoroughly rotten world.   A revision of history will start right before our eyes, a revision by the entire “international community”.

If the genocide stops as per “the first phase”, of “the peace plan” there is nothing that guarantees,, words aside,  that it will not restart after the hostages are handed over, because the  “peace plan” is a blueprint for taking over of Gaza an the WB and the elimination of the Palestinian liberation struggle in order to finally  cement the US/ Zionist project and domination over the  whole of historic Palestine and the Middle East.

Does anybody really think that US/Israel will  negotiate about the rest of their blueprint “peace plan”, after they have the hostages? Why would they do that? What and who can and would compel them to do so?

– In this deal, both sides gave concessions, but Israel conceded it’s main goals of the war : displacement of natives for Jewish settling and disarmament of the resistance before ending the war.

Total disarmament got replaced by “preventing Hamas to be a threat” and by an issue that Palestinians resolve between themselves.

Big Palestinian names will be released in the exchange of prisoners

This is the most brutal and massive war since the creation of the usurper entity where the Palestinian people, with their blood, managed to prevent another Nakba and mass exodus

As for the final outcome of the war, this will be discussed later in another post, but most prominently :

Israel lost it’s global support and became a pariah terror state in the hearts of the majority of the people of the planet, starting with Europe and America itself. This is a massive shift that will have future repercussions, and this is why both Trump and Israel said that the next phase of the war is the whitewashing of Israel’s tarnished image.

The colonialist/imperialist criminals and their Arab clients are continuing with their intentions inaugurated in the “Trump plan”. Rubio is supposed to attend. It is THEY who will decide and be in charge of everything “the day after”, not the Palestinians.
Here it is, from AlJazeera:

France to host Arab, Europen foreign ministers to discuss Gaza’s “day after”

The Paris meeting – due to start at 15:00 GMT today – will bring together top diplomats of five key Arab states – Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates – with European counterparts from France, Italy, Germany, Spain and the UK. Turkiye and the European Union will also be represented.

“This agreement must mark the end of the war and the beginning of a political solution based on the two-state solution,” France’s Emmanuel Macron said.

“They will be talking about Gaza the day after, those are the words of the French Foreign Ministry looking at the transitional process, looking at possible political solutions, and of course rebuilding,” said Al Jazeera’s Natacha Butler, reporting from Paris.

According to the French ministry, the meeting is convening for “work on the implementation of the peace plan and the framework for the ‘day after’ by specifying the aspects of a collective commitment”.

Peacekeeping troops, a legal framework and a no-longer-dangerous Hamas are all necessary in the future as part of a plan for the Gaza Strip and will be discussed among international partners in Paris, says German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul.

“Humanitarian and medical aid must now reach Gaza quickly; the people need prospects for reconstruction,” he said on social media platform X.

Hamas leader Mahmoud Mardawi:It appears that Netanyahu is trying to undermine the ceasefire agreement even before its implementation, by retracting the prisoner lists in an attempt to sabotage the understandings. This move reveals his intentions regarding other critical issues, including withdrawal, reconstruction, and the reopening of crossings.🔹@enemywatch

A spokesperson for Hamas told Al Jazeera that the Israeli occupation is attempting to manipulate the agreed-upon timelines, prisoner lists, and withdrawal steps.
He added that Israel continues to stall on key issues, including the withdrawal process, the names of prisoners to be released, and the return of displaced Palestinians.
“We call on the occupation to abide by what was agreed upon and urge mediators to exert pressure,” he said, adding that mediators confirmed the deal marks the beginning of the end of the genocidal war on Gaza.
He also stated that all captives—both living and deceased—will be handed over in the first phase of the agreement.

‼️ Former spokesperson for the occupation army:

The militia members cooperating with our army in Gaza will not enter “Israel,” and they must face their fate alone.

Our army did not force anyone to fight against Hamas, and the militia members must bear the consequences of their decisions.

Those who betray their own to the occupier will be crushed by both sides in the end.
