There are the documented records of British rule in India and then there are things Indians say the British did. Best to stick with facts.
The British were not perfect but neither were they evil. They created India by cobbling together the warring kingdoms. The built the railway and roads which make it possible for India and Pakistan to survive today.
They banned suttee and slavery and brought education to the Untouchables.
They saved the Taj Mahal from falling into ruin and many other archaeological wonders in India which the Hindus hated because they were built by the Moors.
The British translated Sanskrit Vedic writings into Hindi so ordinary Indians could read them and not just Brahmins.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they gave trump the Nobel Peace Prize, they gave it to Obama in 2009, even though he was at war for hie entire two-terms as POTUS.
I agree the Zionists have been annexing parts of the West Bank for years now, building homes for illegal settlers, that the UN frowns upon, but doesn’t really act on – as for the Arab Nations and the Abraham Accords, well most Arab nations have stood by and watched the genocide unfold – some may have funnelled weapons and aid to Hamas, but its not really been enough yet, to even slow down the genocide.

Ending the genocide in Palestine is the priority. The Resistance in Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Iran and the whole region do not need anything other than economic pressure from the nations that have the greatest skin in the game and who can make a difference by ending trade relations with the entity that threatens every single one of these nations and peoples if it is not stopped. George W Bush’s Road Map for Peace in 2003 half-heartedly tried to resuscitate Palestinian statehood but was stymied by the US accepting 14 impossible Israeli “preconditions” for negotiations, including continuing settlement expansion.
Barack Obama entered office with a grand vision of peace that was quickly sunk by Israel’s refusal to stop expanding its illegal settlements and stealing more land in the West Bank needed for a Palestinian state.
Donald Trump’s 2020 hyped “deal of the century” plan – conducted over the heads of the Palestinian leadership – dressed up annexation of large parts of the West Bank as Palestinian statehood.
Trump’s team also considered a plan to economically incentivise – on the most charitable interpretation – Gaza’s Palestinians to relocate to Egypt’s Sinai desert.
In reality, these two decades of time-wasting while Israel carried on brutalising the Palestinians and taking their land, incentivised not peace but greater Palestinian resistance, culminating in Hamas’ one-day break-out from Gaza on 7 October 2023.
Israel’s response was a genocide in Gaza – one in which Joe Biden became an active partner from the outset, sending bombs to help level the enclave and providing diplomatic cover. Meanwhile, Israel accelerated its de facto annexation of the West Bank undisturbed.
Trump’s second contribution has been unveiling a “Gaza Riviera Plan“, in which whoever survives of the 2.3 million Palestinians there is “cleaned out” and the enclave rebuilt with Gulf money as a playground for the rich.
Reports this week of a watered-down version of the plan suggest Tony Blair, the war criminal who oversaw the destruction of Iraq two decades ago with George W Bush, may be appointed effective “governor” of a Gaza in ruins.

in his UN speech just now Netanyahu again repeated the genocidal atrocity propaganda lie that Hamas “burned babies alive”, now adding the new twist that they burned them alive “in front of their parents”. Zero babies were burned as confirmed by Israeli official records. These babies never existed.
And the entire Western media class, from the NYT, BBC, Guardian, AP, Reuters, all provided live coverage of his speech and every line he said, but none of them pointed out this brazen falsehood that by itself invalidates every single line he uttered, that proves all of it is a lie.

Report exposes global firms profiting from Israel’s unlawful settlement enterprise in the occupied West Bank.
The United Nations has released a report, revealing that more than 150 companies, including Airbnb, Booking.com, Expedia and TripAdvisor, are profiting from Israel’s illegal settlement enterprise in the occupied West Bank.
The UN human rights office on Friday updated its database, listing 158 firms operating inside settlements deemed unlawful by the International Court of Justice (ICJ).

Context is critical. At this time Britain did not rule India. It was under the rule of the East India Company and because of the savagery they inflicted during the Indian Mutiny of 1857. British Government rule began the following year.
We are talking about the Indian Mutiny in the 1850’s. Everyone was brutal. Some 8,000 English died, many of them civilians, women and children, slaughtered with terrible savagery.
That is not to justify the executions but to make the point, that if you look at the violence and cruelty of the times, the English hardly stand out.
Neither was the practice in the times colonial or peculiarly English.
The tactic was considered especially useful in Persia and Afghanistan, where weak governance, rebellion, and rampant banditry all threatened the legitimacy of the nascent state in the nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.
Whilst the British—following the Mughal tradition—used execution by cannon primarily in maintaining military discipline, states such as Persia and Afghanistan instead employed the practice largely in the civilian context.
The East India Company wasn‘t run by Englishmen ? Those Soldiers in the image aren‘t English Redcoats ?
