“Is China Failing Palestine? K.J. Noh and Carl Zha Respond to Criticism” on India & Global Left one or two days ago. An often debated question on MOA such that some may say it’s ‘beating an (un)dead horse,’ but in this discussion conducted by Joytishman Mudiar, the Chinese analyst Noh (inadvertently imo) creates a contradiction on the question of the UN’s role. First Mudiar points to some positive evidence for China, for one thing that the country has reduced its investment over time in Israel from about $12 billion in 2017-2018 to $2-3 billion in the most recent decade (this is not the $14.3 billion that China trades to Israel and the $8.4 billion it buys from Israel today.) Noh begins his very detailed argument by reiterating the crimes that are being inflicted on Palestine, “so clearly this is a complete and total genocide and under those situations we can argue that nobody is doing enough because this is something that cannot and should not be tolerated.” It’s a US, a Western imperial genocide , how do we stop it isn’t easy because it’s been a stream of genocides. So we have to ask do we really care about the Palestinians or are we just trying to diffuse and deter blame. For an individual country of the Global South to impose sanctions, it would not solve the problem (preceeding is paraphrased). Nor alludes to the continuing use of veto by US in UN. There is the question of WWIII which US is trying to start with China. It’s up to the citizens of those Western countries to confront — we have to tread very carefully; it would be the last war. This is a very brief summary of an argument we’ve all heard before and does not capture the extensive informative history and detail of Noh’s full discussion, which covers the situation of China’s Asian neighbors, particularly Myanmar.
Carl Zha clarifies briefly and to the point: China never had any intention or desire to confront the US. China has always wanted to operate within the existing world situation as it is (status quo) and would not consider, for example, sending any peacekeeping force to Palestine that was not authorized by the UN. It is true that in the Mao era, China supported Palestine’s armed resistance, but that is no longer in the present situation. Why not clear imo.
So …during his discourse Noh said the following about the West and the UN: As the US loses land territorial influence in Asia, a large problem is that it increases control of the seas there. “The original conception of the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea, which was to preserve the ocean as a global commons for everybody — that was completely undermined. Western colonial powers have used the UN clause to create vast swaths of …ocean naval passages and naval strategic points. (They) increased the …Exclusive Economic Zone to 200 Kms. that ensured the poorer landlocked states would have overlapping claims, and that they would run into conflict with each other (allowing for involvement in Asia of Western powers), we see most notably in the South China Seas. (Thus, outcomes of applicable UN rulings) ensures that poorer countries will be in conflict over conflicting ocean territorial claims.”
Noh’s discussion of the issue of the UN Convention of the Law of the Sea is so instructive for the reader to get an idea of the problems the Asian countries face with Western imperialism.
Also it reveals how profound is China’s understanding of the failings of the UN as it is currently structured — even some of China’s disputes with close neighbors can be blamed on manipulation of UN rulings. Yet according to both Noh and Zha China refuses to take any concrete action to help Palestine that is not officially sanctioned by the same unreliable, untrustworthy organization, their own history has shown it to be.

This is an interesting topic of discussion.
In my cynical view, ultimately China and Russia are not taking any concrete action to help the Palestinians because everybody in the world thinks that Israel is committing genocide and many barbaric atrocities with the full support of the U.S.A.
So if Israel exterminates 1 or 2 million people and annexes all the Palestinian land it wants in full view of all people in the world through their screens, the costs will be paid by the U.S.A. as well as Israel.
So them both Chinese and Russians have an incentive to let this crime against humanity go to its ultimate conclusion.
In addition, the Russians have further incentives as they are in a war of extermination themselves (euphemistically called demilitarization), not of course a genocide, but the extermination of all males of military age in the Ukraines, a process that needs a long time.
Some Europeans governments on the other hand, have a strong incentive to end the genocide of Palestinians by the Jews of Israel, because any military force seen stopping the Jews will give its government a big boost in popularity and almost certain re-election. Unfortunately, all European governments are abject vassals of the U.S.A. so they cannot act as they would want and have to content themselves with weak diplomatic gestures just to avoid more erosion of their very depressed popularity.
So it seems to me, the genocide of Palestinians by the Jews of Israel will continue to its conclusion: the extermination of 1 to 2 million Palestinians and the annexation of Gaza (and other lands) to Israel.
The costs I mentioned earlier will be paid by the U.S.A. and Israel after the genocide and annexation are concluded.

European leaders “recognizing Palestine” is just a PR stunt for internal consumption in countries with large Muslim minorities. It don’t cost much as it’s “paying with words” and the “Palestinian state” officially recognized is the actual form of the old PLO … Neither the less, it’s a “good” decision for bad motives.

Russia has attempted numerous times to implement agreements with 404 : then EVERY FUCKING TIME the US, UK and EU replied “thank you but no, thank you.”. The prime responsibility for Banderastan to be depopulated right now lies on the back of the ones overloading the proxy with cash and weapons. Notice the parallel with the Zionist entity : overloaded with cash and weapons from the same people.

One formatting hiccup: all comments are indented; also commented blockquotes are indented even further by an excessive amount. On a smartphone, that means all comment text has excessively short lines, and blocktext even more so.
Do make sure you get enough rest, b! People need to realise that to stop the genocide you either stop them by 1) physical force or 2) convince Israelis and their western backers to stop genociding. Everything else is fluff if it does not fall into those two categories.
China and Russia worked on 1) by supporting Syria and Iran, who provided the armaments and technologies to the fighters on the front. But that failed when the fall of Syria cut off the supply lines.
Now that 2) is the only option remaining, people should stop self sabotaging and recognise that, however imperfect, the UN two state solution is only one Israel and their western backers might be WILLING to accept. If that does not get off the ground, genocide will just continue until Palestinian numbers gets thinned out enough for the native american treatment.

We live in a dramatically different time than the post-WWII era that hosted a partly choreographed Cold War. It worked fairly well. Europe discovered the joys of peace and shook its fingers at the US propensity to go to war.
Our era features pure power-politics where deceit, mendacity, and a systemically corrupt power structure dominates the Western Empire.
There is no chance of a “two-state solution” in Palestine. Israel won’t accept it no matter what and they have the power, through their benefactors who control the US government and Western banks. Genocide is happening and will continue. The only change might be that Iran rains destruction on Israel but even then Israel has let it be known that it will go nuclear. The whole “two-state solution” business is phony and yet another example of Western corruption. The Western Empire never had any intention of implementing it and China/Russia and other states can’t afford to waste resources on this. In fact, it is to their benefit that the genocide continue to its final solution because it will bother the minority of people in the West who still have some moral qualms about ethnic cleansing and genocide but no one else. The West is now not only fed on fantasy but demand fantasy and the genocide can be ignored as it is by most of the mainstream media.
Israel has real power and it is real power that will dominate the future because, at least for the West, there is no accepted morality just bullshit that masks as morality.

Israel gets its backing from the west, if the diplomatic efforts and graphic images can push western countries into recognising a Palestinian state for the first time, I can see them pushing for a mini-statelet that is disarmed, not threatening to Israel and Israel accepting.
With recognised borders, China could build an airport that could give Palestinians access to global trade without Israeli interference. This will ensure Palestinian survival and a foothold in their homeland. At that point, it’ll be a question of demographics. Israel only has a population of 9m against a population of 150 million Muslims in the surrounding regions. It really is not a fair contest if the Muslim side were to be properly united and led.
At some point, Israel’s hyper aggressive pursuit of Greater Israel will force the Arab monarchies to turn against them, in the same way that Hamas, the Muslim Brotherhood offshoot, was forced to turn against their handlers. Who knows, in the future, you could have a Traore-like figure rise up in the mid east instead of the disappointing bunch today.

On Monday 22nd September, huge protests and strikes took place all over Italy against the Gaza Genocide. A general strike, called by the major Trade Unions affected many sectors, especially local public transport and railways, schools, public services and ports About 100,000 people demonstrated at Rome central Railway Terminus, leading to cancellation of trains. (according to the Police there were 20,000 people). Protestors restricted access to the ports of Genoa and Livorno, at Milan near the US consulate. US flag was burned, at Pisa, a major highway was blocked, at Bologna, students blocked entry to the lecture hall at the University and near Florence bottles, stones and rocks were thrown at a plant belonging to Italian defence giant Leonardo . These protests have been reported in the mainstream news media in Europe and all over the world.
France too seems to have woken up. Le Monde reports that “Over 80 town halls in France were flying the Palestinian flag on Monday, September 22, in defiance of an Interior Ministry warning not to do so ahead of the recognition of a Palestinian state by President Emmanuel Macron.”
At long last, Israel seems to be on the verge of loosing its immunity from its war crimes.

Italy’s Defence Minister Guido Crosetto sent a navy frigate to assist the flotilla on Wednesday.
“To ensure assistance to the Italian citizens on the ‘Flotilla’… I spoke with the Prime Minister and authorised the immediate intervention of the Italian Navy’s multi-purpose frigate Fasan, which was sailing north of Crete as part of Operation Safe Sea,” Mr Crosetto said in a statement posted by the ministry on X.
“The vessel is already en route to the area for possible rescue operations”.

Maybe in the long term something civilized might result from all this–but that moment is far away. Again, power-politics has replaced international law at least in the West. With the Arab oil states–riches have corrupted those countries in both actual and moral corruption which I’ve heard from several sources. There is no avenue for change in those societies. As for the North African countries, they are the same only poorer. They haven’t cared for the Palestinians because they are so deeply corrupt top and bottom. Only Shia Iran and Yemen have had any interest in the Palestinians. The sort of morality that prevailed after WWII was deeply Christian/Humanist now, as a sociological force that has died though it shows signs of recovering in the USA but not in Europe. I the longer run that will change but in the short- and medium-term the Palestinians will likely die or face expulsion–the Israelis are committed to that–only war will change that and then who knows.

Alastair Crooke at his Conflicts Forum substack has posted a snippet from +972 Magazine, which is an Israeli publication, of an article by Orly Noy, “Israel is waging a holocaust in Gaza. Denazification is our only remedy”, proving there are some who aren’t Zionazis within Occupied Palestine. The entire article is in English and accessible. Here’s the portion Alastair provided at his substack:
‘Israel is unleashing a holocaust in Gaza, and it cannot be dismissed as the will of the country’s current fascist leaders alone. This horror runs deeper than Netanyahu, Ben Gvir, and Smotrich. What we are witnessing is the final stage in the nazification of Israeli society. [The] denazification process must begin now, and it starts with refusal. Refusal not only to take an active part in Gaza’s destruction, but to put on the uniform at all. IMO, those words are well over a year late in coming. The two other snippets Crooke provides in his substack’s free portion are of a contrasting nature and not nearly as strong.

Houthi Drone Slams Into Hotel In Southern Israel, Wounding Over 20

Israeli media is reporting that over 20 people were wounded, including two in serious condition, after a drone launched by Houthis out of Yemen struck the southern Israeli city of Eilat during the day Wednesday.
